Who's excited for Mark M to race in some good cars this year?

May be...

  • It will be interesting to see how he stacks up against the other three Hendrick drivers. I just hope Mark and his crew chief work well together.
  • I have nothing but respect for Mark and I wish him the best in '09. He is a great driver and just may thrive in the HMS house.
  • I think it is cool Mark gets to drive for Hendrick. I think the spirit of driving for him will do Mark well and he has cool team mates too. I hope he has fun and I think Hendrick's Chevy's will do great for him.

I think though he would be more excited to have Viagra back as a sponsor.
  • mark martin always raced good in any car he drove, but i think that mark martin will have his best season this year because he's driving for the team that won the championship 3 years in a row.
  • any car Mark Martin drives is a good one.
  • I'm really looking forward to it. Now, that he's signed full-time, he has a better shot at the championship. (And I hope he wins.) He has always had great cars, but Gordon and Johnson will be unbeatable teammates.
  • I can't wait to see Mark in the 5 HMS Chevy in 2009.I hope that he does extremely well.
  • Well to my knowledge Mark has always raced in good cars every year since 1989. Mark's problem has always been luck....so hopefully he'll find some luck this year and pull off a few wins and compete for the championship. Would love to see it! Just an opinion as always.
  • Hes been in good cars. He drove for Roush which is great cars, he drove for DEI which has good cars.
  • Mark is a great driver and I am really looking forward to him in the #5 car...to see how he does.
  • dude! he's past his prime!
  • When Mark raced in the Army car, he is a championship caliber driver, but he doesn't race full time. Hendrick, plus full time equals Chase.
  • He's always had good cars...he has been hurt by running only part time but that was the choice he made. It will be good to see him run full time again and I hope he wins the championship.
  • Excited as I have been the last quarter century. Yay. I know I know.... he's so respectable blah blah blah.

Team HMS didn't help Jr, Vickers and Casey "what's his name."
  • i am, i'll be hoping for him to win the championship.buy kosher for passover

  • NASCAR The curse of the 19 car ?

    May be...

  • Allmendinger next in what? there is no curse
  • I don't enough about AJ to answer this. sorry.
  • Ity says "The common denominator between Mayfield and Atwood is that both drivers have barely been heard from since their dismissal from the 19 car. They have fallen off the NASCAR radar. Will Sadler suffer the same fate? Is the 19 car a career killer? Should Allmendinger be worried? """

Well Jeremy did put the 19 in victory lane on more than one occasion but casey atwood..well he wasn't that great. As far as Elliot Sadler...nope...he's a fan favorite, marketable, decent driver, and though he really hasn't hit victory lane he has gotten close a few times. No curse on Elliot...we will be hearing a lot more from him ON THE TRACK. I truely believe that.
Allmendinger?? Lets hope it wasn't just beginners luck that he is a good driver. But no I don't believe in curses. Good question and article though. Thanks!
  • i dont really understand what that means
  • allmendinger is a curse on his own self
  • http://www.examiner.com/x-2149-Atlanta-N...

This was in NASCAR .COM . So what do you think .Is Allmendinger next . Or is this all bull'
  • It appears that there's a curse on the 19 and a curse on Allmendinger. Together, maybe they will accomplish more.

The article is totally correct, Sadler and Labonte shouldn't have to be scrounging around for a ride. Especially Bobby, he's a former champion for pete's sake!air asia cebu

Where should I sit at Martinsville?

    May be...

  • Sit high but not to high. And a good place to sit is either coming out of turn for or going into turn 1.
  • Enjoy the race. I've never been, so these answers are great. Maybe sometime in the future I can go to Martinsville.
  • I don't think it cares whether you sit on a stretch or a turn, just sit high enough where you can see the whole track.
  • I think you should high next to the finish line. If it comes to a last lap battle, you can see everything. Plus, when Jimmie Johnson wins the race you are going to, you can see his awesome burnout.
  • Towards the middle, so it good level to see everything w/o being too high or too low.
  • I like the Blue Ridge Tower area - section I row 20 or so. You can see the entire track and you are close to the Start finish line.

    Enjoy!
  • all the actuion is between 1 @ 2
so if you sit halfway up in turn 1 you can still see the start finish line
actually you can see the whole track from there but pit road action is in front of you to
  • I'm about to buy some tickets to Martinsville, but I can't decide on what seats to get. What seats would you recommend and why? High/low? Turn 1, 2, 3, 4? If any of you that have been to Martinsville could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
  • sit high (so you can see across to the other side of the track) between turn one and the start / finish line. i say this seating area would do just fine. you'll get to see the the whole race from all sides of the track, and see my driver , Tony Stewart (or your favorite driver) take the checkered flag at the end.
  • As long as you're about row 20 or higher, you can see the entire track. So do not sit lower than that. You'll also prefer to not sit on the backstretch b/c you cannot see pit lane. The section between turns 3 and 4 is fantastic. You can see the entire track without swiveling your head. Basically, there are only a few "bad" seats there.windows launcher for palm os
  • Nascar Nation--Can you answer this?

    May be...

  • I'm going to say Darrell Waltrip. He left the #11 Mt Dew car owned by Junior Johnson (three championships) and went to drive for Rick Hendrick in the #17 Tide car. He never won another championship and Rick had to wait until 1995 to win a championship with Jeff Gordon.
  • Terry Labonte? I don't know any of the details, that just sounds like it could be the right answer.
  • who cares? nascar sucks
  • In 1986...a top driver made a shocking announcement towards years end...He was leaving the team that made his career. The car owner was shocked....no make that very angry and felt betrayed. The new owner for 87 was all smiles as he felt he just "bought" an instant ticket to a Winston Cup Champion. But alas that championship was still many years away and with another driver. The news was shocking to Nascar fans they couldn't believe this was happening. But all in all money talks at the end of the day. So can you tell me who this top driver was? What team did he leave? Car # owner etc
What team did he go to in 87? Car # owner etc.
Did this driver ever win a championship with either team???
Good luck and have fun with it!
  • No I cant answer Jeff, but I would like to tell Minus D above me to go swallow one. TYVM!!power runner 2300
  • Where you you tell George Gillette and Evernham to stick it?

    May be...

  • I am guessing that this is a bad thing, even avatars are changing. I think GEM is losing fans.
  • As far up their @sses as possible
  • no, but I would have a side order of fries. You need to learn how to read and write, so you can form a functioning question
  • Tom we have to learn to breathe. i am having broadband issues tonight and when i finally got on i got on to this! All before his nuptials. We have got to put things in perspective
He is a good driver with a loyal fan base in which any owner should be proud to have him.
His best years are a head of him
He is well liked and well respected in the community and someone like that does not go unnoticed
And he is very very marketable in which sponsors love
We will be there for him through think and thin we have just run into a thin spot right now- remember it is a rumor and if it were true it would be Ray's loss.
I am with you Mr.Prez all the way and so isn't the rest of Nascar Nation
  • I'm hoping that Allmendinger is moving to the 19 to take Sadler's place because he's moving to a 4th GEM car if they merge with Petty.

    This is getting ridiculous.
  • Well seems you have turned to the dark side Bad A$$ Prez

But just how bad are you? hahaha

Ray and George can both get it stuck so far up they can't sit down for the entire season.
  • I think NASCAR Nation Chief of Staff said it best. What could I possibly add to that .........

Other than please let me be there when it happens.
  • Ray Everham is out as much as Elliot. He had nothing to do with this. My guess is he saw this stuff coming and planned his exit.
  • SHOVE THEM STRAIGHT UP THEIR *** AND HOPE THEY CHOKE ON IT!!!!
  • Being a Jeff Gordon fan I personally dislike Everham for leaving Gordon. I would tell them to go back to Gordon so Gordon can win it all just like he used to and still can.
  • Tom I really wished I could put it in text on here. There would be nothing but !@#$%^&*()_+ in my message. in my eye's that's just plain and simple anti-American on Ray and Georges part. I can tell You what I WILL do and that's get rid of my Gillette Fusion razors and shaving cream. I will use something else. That's how i roll on the loyalty part of Nascar. I will also campaign againts the 5 bladed razor that cut me everytime, stay away from McDonald's cause it makes me puke and Best Buy will never see this fat boy in one of their low life stores.
  • Yes, it sucks. But as Winter said, it might be for the better. Hopefully Elliot will get a better ride next year.
  • up their @ss so far they choke on it.

Maybe Elliot will go back to Woods Bros. maybe they will shine with him on the team. Cripes sake. makes me not even want to watch this season.

Even sponsors were threatening to walk. Good for them. I hope they do and go with Elliot wherever he goes. GEM is a sinking ship anyway. A ship of fools.
  • To be completely honest, I have wondered how Sadler has kept a ride this long. I don't hate him, but Nascar is business and Sadler hasn't run well in years. Heck, I've always thought Hermie was a better driver than Elliott, but what do I know? There's still a few weeks until Daytona kicks in, so many things can happen.
  • Man, I feel so bad for Elliott. This couldn't have happened to a better guy. A.J. did good with the #10 last year, but he's not worth replacing Sadler at all. There aren't many rides available right now, so I really hope that Elliott will find a much better ride for his sake, for you, and all of the Sadler fans. GEM has been in a big mess for a very long time. I have to like Evernham for all of what he did for Gordon years ago, but I can't say I like him right now at the moment.
  • i'm with you Mr Prez on this, definitely where the sun will never ever shine, they sux. Who could do this to Elliott, heck come on GEM the dude is getting married on Jan 17, geez this is no wedding present for sure. I hope this is some kind of mis-print maybe they will put him in the #10. Now Elliott I know you and Blake Shelton are best buddies, maybe you got a record deal, I know you were working on a CD. But dang you do not have to leave Nascar. I'm sure something will come around for him. I still can not believe what I read, I had to read it 2 or 3 times. GEM you got this so so so wrong.. I do like the dinger, BUT not at Elliott's expense..

Go Dale Jr & Hms in 2009
  • I hope that Elliot gets a good ride. It seems ridiculous that two good drivers (Bobby LaBonte and Elliot Sadler) are not signed right now. And the fact that it is the middle of the season.

I say shame on Gillette for letting Elliot go, but I also said the same thing about Petty letting Bobby go. so I am hoping that they both get good rides, and prove to the whole sport especially Petty and Gillette what morons they were to let the drivers go.
  • Well, Tom I can understand why you are frustrated BUT I would wait 'til we hear the official announcement. I made a call to my buddies who work for the #12 team....they were unsure about this and called it a rumor. But one of them hinted at Gillette Petty deal is done....but Sadler was a piece of the puzzle....Petty and their new sponsor wants Sadler to drive. Sadler according to them jumped at the chance to drive the #43....thus opening up a spot for AJ. Now of course all of the above is RUMOR. Lets just wait and see....just an opinion as always.
Hang in there Mr. Prez.....we're rooting for you.
  • Awe Tom, I was shocked but, ya never know my friend maybe it is just a rumor. Nothing verified yet. If so then that just means Elliott is open for a ride. He will get one....Gotta trust my iner wisdom. Screw them. Sorry Tom

    ((((((huggs))))))
  • I'm sorry kiddo. I know this must be a pretty rough blow. I just read about it on Jayski.
    HOWEVER......
Sometimes when things like this happen, it ends up being even more beneficial for the driver. (I speak from experience)
Did I ever tell you about my first question ever asked in the NASCAR section? It was the day it was announced that Rick Hendrick had decided to let Kyle go.
My question was a hate filled graphic rant about Rick Hendrick, thus it got three answers and a violation notice all within 2 minutes of it being up. I was just as pissed off as you are right now.
Look at the end result. It worked out better for Kyle, maybe the same will hold true for Elliott. Hang in there.20yh
  • If NASCAR held a race during the week of Christmas, where would you like to see it run?

    May be...

  • Make it a night race at Bristol!
  • Hot 'lanta is my pick
  • I say the night race in Vegas. I enjoy watching the Trucks run there at night, so why not Sprint Cup Cars?
  • Psh... let's go dirt track racing boys!

Let's call Tony and convince him to open up Eldora ASAP.

... to answer the question, Atlanta :P
