nope Joe Gibbs will win this race, either Hamlin or Busch or hopefully Tony will win. Just watch and if I am right give me 10 points. They might not shut everyone up cuz somepeople have to big of a mouth. But when one of the HMS Team win the Cup this year they will. Yes ! I am hoping that Jeff Gordon will do it ! Go Dale Jr & Hms Hmmm? I think not, Harvick is gonna win. I just can sense it. yeah junior and jimmie own this track Maybe. But I think it might be the #48 tonight. I think HMS will win tonight, but it will be Jimmie not Jeff. However, I hope I'm wrong because Jeff is my favorite driver. I just have a feeling that it will be Jimmie. No because the truth is they are drilling themselves, Dale is the only one doing great the others have been pushed to the side as they are focusing on getting him comfortable. Johnson and Gordon can't take this treatment and it is getting them all screwed up inside causing them to perform badly.

Maybe the people who are not in a fantasy league just want to know everybody's best guess. Take in to consideration the past races at "X" track, how well the teams are doing, and who has been running well and see if you can correctly predict the outcome. Or they just want you to know who their fave driver is.

If they're gonna ask the question, doesn't it make sense to wait until after practice and qualifying to see who is strong and who is not? Doesn't seem to be much of a point in asking on Monday or Tuesday who is going to win, unless you're just really bored and feel like wasting 5 points that day. Why do people ask "Who's going to win-insert race here-every week?" I'm really curious about this. Do you really want to know? Do you belong to a fantasy league and want the picks? That was a good race, first Carl and Denny, then Carl and Kyle, Go Rowdy! I thought that was some pretty good racing. When do you get to see 2 guys going side- by- side for that long!!!!!!!!!! lol i think it funny that you guys think kyle's a turd because that boy can drive nomadder what hes in... It was a awesom race.... And for the peaple who thinks he's to aggresive, its called racing.... he leaves it all on the race track every time hes out there..

Nobody wrecked anyone and it was the best of the Nationwide series this year. Yes it was a good race--and a good battle for the win!!!!! It was some very good racing. I just wish Edwards would have used and bumper and moved him out of the way. Because you know Kyle would have done it if he was in Edwards position. awesome, clean racing. though i personally wanted edwards to punt busch into the wall. i hate that turd.

If you're really into NASCAR and your driver, buy a scanner somewhere. I got mine on ebay (obviously a little late for that now) but you can still get them pretty cheap (everywhere except the track). It really makes it so much cooler.
And everything everyone else said. Not so sure about the personal protective devices though, it's really quite a friendly atmosphere. suscreen and earplugs are a must. Bring dinks and snacks in the smallest cooler that they will fit in. Since it's a night race you might bring a throw blanket just in case. Check the forecast before you leave to make sure there is no chance of rain. Bring shirt with easy flashing access because the women at these events expose their breasts for the males in attendance Bring the old Snake bite kit !! Sunscreen, Coolers full of good ol' Bud, Sandwiches, cameras, radios,those damn communicator things if you have them, personal protective devices (tasers,mace,pepper spray) a hat, sunscreen, credit card (no cash unless you want to eat the sludge at the track---expensive and not advisable). I never found the need for ear protection, but that's why I'm nearly deaf LOL. Water is expensive as well, bring some and leave it in your car in the truck in a cooler with ice and some beer if you drink beer. Mark the place where you park if you drive there (flag your car, landmarks that won't move before you do etc.) We are heading to Phoenix tomorrow for our first NASCAR race. Never having attended an event like this, I heard that ear protection is a good thing to have. What else might be a good idea to bring? How's the food there? What's available at the races and what should we bring from home? Thanks for any suggestions! Hey girl! This will be a day you will remember for a long time. First and foremost, bring lots of cash. You will need a hat, sunglasses, sunblock or tanning lotion, a camera, a cooler (check before you go on what size they will allow inside the gate), and earplugs are a must. Wear comfortable walking shoes, and I suggest getting there really early so you can set up for some tailgating before you go into the track. You will save a ton of money that you can use to purchase more memorabilia. Their food usually costs a small fortune and there's nothing like tailgating to meet people. Plus getting there early will maybe get you a better parking spot and not have so far to carry your stuff. It gets wicked heavy after 5 or 10 minutes. You will also need to pay to park - it cost us 100 bucks to park last time we went.
I cannot think of anything else so all I have left to say is I hope you have a blast!!!!!!!!! bring your friends,a BQQ grill,buns and that is all For PIR, I suggest you take the bus shuttle above all. Traffic to and from the track is horrid. The food is good and there are plenty of things to do before the race. Go EARLY! Ear protection is your choice and depends where you are at I was in the grandstands towards the backstretch so it was not so bad. plenty of beer and Skoal or Copenhagen.

You know ... it's a tough call to make, and the experts have always said driver ... it's obviously both to some degree. BUT the best driver can't succeed in crappy equipment, while the WORST driver will fail even in good equipment.
That tells me that the equipment is at least as important as the driver. I guess I'd split it about 50/50.
Jeff Gordon couldn't drive the 78 to victory lane. Likewise, Chad McCumbee (I shouldn't pick on him) couldn't drive the 24 to victory lane (though the latter is more likely than the former, showing the importance of equipment).
Nathan It's got to be a balance of the two. Some great drivers can take a bad car and win with it but not always. Looking at how far Kyle Busch took that 18 car (good driver/bad car) and looking at how bad Kasey Kahne did last year (good driver/bad car), is it more car or driver. Car or it would be called driver racing instead of auto racing. Neither. It has to be a balance of both car AND driver.

But some manufactures seem better than others. I'd say the car is a bit more important, but it always helps having a great driver, such as Carl Edwards... its a combination of both. If you take the best driver and put him in the worst car there is no way that he will have the power to win. and if you put the worst driver in the best car he will probably wreck it in the first lap of the race. Driver. Both have to be on thier A game to win a race. But I do believe the handling of the car and it's performance is a bit more important, if a driver is having a bad day and an awesome car he still may have a great finish. But no matter how good the driver is if the car sucks it's over. Both. Could the driver of the 48 move to the car #45 and win races? Probably not. Don't get me wrong, Kyle's a great guy. I believe it is part driver but if the car is not set up right it doesn't matter if you have Jeff Gordon or Carl Edwards they won't be able to drive it. Yu saw that last week at Texas with Jeff Gordon. In all honesty, I would say both. A good car and a good driver is an awesome combo. If you have a bad car and a good driver, the good driver can usally make the bad car better. Now if you have a good car and bad driver that could be bad news because that driver can't drive the car was well. It's always about the driver. Kyle finally admitted it was a "drivers error" rather than blaming his crew or other drivers. I think he finally figured it out that Nascar fans were tired of the boo hoo mama he made me lose. Have you ever heard Clint Bowyer blame someone other than "the Biffe" for a loss of victory lane? Please! He ran out of gas and was still so full of himself, he still didn't have enough of what it takes to admit he didn't win. Now that is a sorry Nascar driver. Sorry Biffe, but I suppose your mama still loves you.

I would base it on the size of the track.
So if say a 1 mile track can have 43 cars, then a 2.5 mile track should be able to have 108 cars.

LOL I would have different numbers for different tracks. I'd have 35 start on the short tracks, but around 50 for larger tracks. 35. Top thirty five are Guaranteed to race, and that's who should be in it. 45....43 is such an odd number and this would give more go or go home drivers a shot. I would go the other way. I'd reduce it to 32 to get most of the wannabees out of the way. for short tracks i would have it 36, but for bigger tracks like daytona and talladega, i would have the number be around 53. could you imagine how exciting a restricter plate race would be with a pack of around 50 in it. awesome I'd say where its out now... especially on short tracks. If you let all the idiots in who "thought" they could hack it, it would make the sport much more dangerous for the talent. Unfortuneately a couple of drivers get left out every week but really, they probably wouldn't have done much else than get their sponser on the track.
Of all the changes I could argue for... sorry, this isn't one of them. I'd say around 50. it would depend on the track. and the smaller tracks i would go down to 30ish. but at Daytona and Dega it would be open to those who want to race it there is so much more room there for them to run at. 50 or 55 so they could get rid of the top 35 rule 43--The 43 Fastest Qualifiers!!!!!
