No. He was a heck of a driver and really an ambassador for the garage. If Bill France needed the drivers' side then Dale was your man. Now there's no one like that and the racing has changed drastically since Dale's death. As for talent, maybe. Kyle Busch has always shown a lot of shine since his first truck race. He almost won that race! I think you haven't seen the last of this kid- he is aggressive. They say that the Logano kid has prodigy talent as well. Those two will never be an 'Intimidator' though...
I have witnessed Dale Earnhardt win nine times. I used to get so mad when he would take the checkers at Talladega almost every time. The infielders used to say, 'Anybody but Earnhardt'-- I'm glad now that I got to see him win multiples at Atlanta, Talladega, one Darlington, one North Wilkesboro, and one Charlotte.
So, to answer your question, there will never be another Dale Earnhardt. RIP of course there will. every sport has its "greatest athletes" and there is usually a group of them and more get added over time. people thought there would never be anyone as "great" as the king, but then along came dale sr. as a matter of fact, nearly every human endeavor has its "greats" and someone down the line manages to become great as well. isaac newton was the "be-all-and-end-all" in physics for centuries, and then along came einstein. and later, stephen hawking. those who come later are not necessarily better, or even "the same," but great in their own way, often building on the achievements of others who came before. i don't think so! but i want you to tell me what you think? please be nice yea, he's on the track every weekend, this guy's name is jeff gordon. i don't think so. but there is always a chance. anythings possible. if there will be they wont have heart for the sport like Sr. that's for shore Give me a break,he was just a dirty driver. He was on NASCAR's governing body and they let him get away with driving dirty. What a SOB the guy was. Some drivers might win more races, and possibly win more titles, but I don't think that there will ever be a driver that has the iconic status of "The Man in Black" . He was rough and tough racing personified. When they want to show a picture of a racing dog-fight, they show a picture of a driver looking in his rear-view mirror at that black 3.
There can only be one man to be the first to walk on the moon, and there simply will only be one Dale Earnhardt. Well he was a great self promoter, and a bull in a china closet. As long as RCR had the best crew and crew chiefs, he won a few races and a lot of championships when NASCAR was still a southern sport without outside influences. As far as "Great" I'll take A.J Foyt, Big Al Unser, Dave Darland, Tommy Hinnershitz, Jimmy Bryan, Jeff Gordon,Steve Kinser and Tony Stewart any time. Maybe with # of wins but never in attitude and agressiveness= intimidation factor. He could cause somebody to crash just by riding behind them,they would spend more time watching him than the track Nope. everyone has an opinion...dale sr was a great driver

in auto racing ..the greatest driver that ever lived, is always just around the next corner.... There have been greater drivers before Sr. He really wasn't called the "greatest" until after his death, outside his fanbase. That's what death will do a lot of times. However, he is definetely in the top 5 as far as best drivers go. As for anybody being as great as Sr. now, I think Gordon is comparable, and leads Sr. in a lot of stats besides championships. A few drivers look to be on their way to being as good a driver as Sr. A few are similar as far as personality goes, but not many, if any are as intimidating as Sr. was on the track. That alone played a big part in many of Sr's success. That's a different kind of talent. There are plenty of drivers who are greater than him. When did you start watching NASCAR?? 2007?? 2008?? This week?? there will never be another big E and dale jr cant tie his daddys shoes its a cycle thing/ 25 years from now they will dale sr who? No.
But there will always be those who wish they were.
And then there will be those who try to make everyone else believe their driver is the reincarnation of Dale Earnhardt Sr.
(Sorry Kyle Busch. Get real) He crashed a lot of other guys to pick up many of his wins, i don't see how NASCAR didn't fine him or bar him from racing. Thank God no one got killed all the times he pulled that bump and run, but in the end karma got him on 2-18-2001.

Yes, I could see it lasting 10 years. Kyle has mentioned going to Formula 1 racing when he's 30. That's in about 7 years, I think. He might come back to NASCAR after F1 chews him up and spits him out. lol carl beat him in MY house

but to answer your question, i think you're right - one heck of a rivalry is building. and the interesting thing is that they really do seem to respect one another - i think they recognize the mutual "hatred of second place." i can't recall either of them "trash-talking" the other, they love to race each other, and they've always done so cleanly.
but i wouldn't count jimmie (or in a few years joey) out of that mix. kyle busch carl edwards have finished 1 2 4 times this season and both been in top 5 about 7 times in same race im not a fan of either but it would be a great thing to see if it lasts about 10 more years. Cool....I love rivalries based on pure competition and a passionate drive to win!!
May the best driver prevail! It would be a little more interesting if they leaned on each other more in the corner and roughed each other up but it is a great rivalry between the two. Like the Dale and Dale show there was for a while. I would have said Jr and Kyle Busch, but Jr is showing that he can't compete with those two. Should be a great rivalry, like the ones from the 80s

Kyle sucks at driving. He needs to stop wrecking Jr. As TBone said - pay attention - It was not a comparison...simply a look how great these guys are - side by side - how do you compare a swimmer and a Nascar driver? They compared the 2 at the same point in their careers. Sheesh. Listen next time. Its not that difficult. yes it is kyle is great and the king is great kyle could break his record so come on please people stop hating on us please its getting old we keep win while you guys try to play mind games. Kyle Busch has more wins at this point in his career than Richard Petty. I guess Kyle is better. Keep in mind, there were a heck of a lot more races back in the day when Petty drove. Kyle is a very talented driver but no way he could ever break the records that Petty set, and yes i know Petty raced more races back in the day but to compare the two..never....Kyle is Kyle and Petty is KING!
Each are very different so no comparison is needed, Kyle will set his own type records suits me better than them comparing him to dale SR Can you really compare the two?Kyle has 8 wins this season.Petty has 10 in a row in one season,with 37 wins in one season.Is this a fair to compare the two?

I'm a die hard Jr fan (bring on the thumbs down I don't care) anyways I always have been and I always will be whether he is doing great or not, it's called loyalty and I stand by my driver! You know Jr gets voted most popular but on YA he's anything but! I don't understand it either but hey to each their own all I know is that I try not to bash on other drivers and their fans because I have to much respect for my friends and contacts on here and I wish some of the others would do the same but truth be told it's really just some jerk off doing the bashing trying to get us Jr fans all rilled up! So all I can say is stick by your driver and try not to let the jerk offs get to ya! (sometimes that is easier said than done though) LOL but that's what I try to do anyways!! most likely it's because he drives for HMS. some

We get it- he is a rainbow warrior now woohooo he still slow LOL ! i agree with k97city, we were "ok" with jr before his move to hendrix, although thought he was riding on daddy's coat tails to much (mostly fans fault) but i think he needs to prove his self and joining the whinners on hendrix wasn't the way to do it. I don't hate him. In fact, he's kind of grown on me. He had a hard life growing up and his dad was kind of rough on him when he was little. But he isn't his dad and people shouldn't compare them. He's not the same driver. Dale Earnhardt would take anything to the front and June tends to whine about his equipment a lot. You haven't heard as much of that this year as he is aware of the position that he has put himself in. If he can't win in the Hendrick equipment then he isn't the driver that his 'nation' has made him out to be. i love dale jr almost has much as i loved dale senior!!!!! My favorite is Carl Edwards but i do not mind Jr. fans, Jr. is a pretty decent driver now that he went to Hendricks. I don't hate him.. I'm reserving my dislike for Jeffy Gordon... never liked him, never will.. actually, none of them make a difference in my life, soooo, I neither hate, nor love, them... I don't hate Jr. not one bit I think for most fans it's not him that they hate, its the media that constantly shoves him down everyones throats. And the fact that some of his fans are complete hooligans, who when it comes to bashing can dish it out but go nuts if anyone dares to say anything negative about their driver. I personally have nothing against Jr and have quite a few friends and even family members who are fans of his. It's immaturity and an easy sign to watch out for those kind of people. They are emotionally and most likely mentally unstable and/or able to cope with real life situations. I know a serious die-hard Jr. fan, that still respects what Kyle has accomplished, And the only reason that keeps in on a normal emotional status is that he understands motor sports, and he also plays in a band, so he understands the ease of popularity. People who tend to hate are usually people who aren't in close grips with reality. Especially when they get upset about something good actually happening. In fact, as far as psychology goes, some people feel better when others have serious problems. They just can't stand to see people doing good. In other words, they're "weinies" i know he's not won alot of races this year but he has been in the top 5 and top 10. why do you want to take that away from him.yes i'm a jr fan but if another driver is doing good well good for him.jr does good and you say"i hate him" lighten up cause it's only a race.no i'm not a big fan of kyle busch but he is one hell of a driver. so to all you jr haters

Tony could have made a better choice. The only reason that Stewart hired Newman is because he wanted a teammate that was fatter and stubbier than himself. They should change the name to the Fat Bros. Racing team. I hope not, but remember Newman is a engineer and he can work on his own race car..I wish Smoke and Rocketman lots of success for next year as both will be in Chevy's and You know that I'm a huge Chvey fan.. Nope I do not see this as a sign of whats coming, its racing Snake and you know that and S**T can happen at a minutes notice unless you are Rowdy Busch (sorry I just had to toss that in)
Go Dale Jr & Hms It's not the first time that Ryan has lost an engine this season. It is part of the problem that caused Ryan to look elsewhere for a ride for next season. I am a fan of both drivers. They both know the work in front of them for next year & they are ready to tackle it. So I don't feel it is a sign of things to come, only a reminder of why he's leaving Penske. No, Roger just called Theresa Earnhardt about what to do with drivers that are leaving after the season. No, it is just a continuation of the bad luck that Ryan has had over the last couple of years with that team. I think the change will do him good. Then Newmans engine letting go there afterwards. Is this a sign of things to come at Hass/CNC racing next year? Get these guys in Chevrolets and they will feel like thay can actually accomplish something (oops, I just avoided the question) How about... well, put it this way. You never know in racing. And this I learned from drag racing. You never know who's going to be the winner next time around, because the "recipe" to the racing factors involved are constantly morphing. In other words, "change is good" If you don't have the guts to make "the move" you'll never be a top competitior. And we all know Tony Stewart is a top competitior. I am happy for Tony and I think it's very cool that he has recruited Ryan Newman. These guys could be a force. Certain teams may be weakening (so to speak) and then the competition levels off between them. Who knows? DEI could kick some but' on '09. I'm already looking forward to next season. And you know NASCAR is never done making up their own little rules and restrictions. Once again. It's going to be a wait and see situation. If you want to check my 3000 answers I predicted JGR to be great this year. I didn't know Kyle was going to be the next phenom, but certain things just play out like that in racing. And there actually is a lot of relevance in how that works out in different types of competitive motorsports, not just NASCAR. I think Stewart/Hass will put on a great display of racing in 2009, but their transition will be evident. I also think Tony will be more into his new season. And so will Newman. They don't have a choice. It's their job. And more important, reputation. No, just bad luck for Ryan Newman and the #12 team. I am glad Ryan is going with Tony. I we will see some great racing with these guys. It's going to take a bit for adjusting to the car and get everything just right but once they do I beleive Haas/CNC will be top contenders. Hard to say. Don't think a Penske engine letting go can be a sign of things to come for Newman in a Hendrick powered car. But I agree with you that they may have a tough first season together. But who knows....stranger things have happened.

Go Dale Jr & Hms I think BAM is already done. And it's sad to say, but I think the Woods boys (as The King used to call them) may be headed down the same road as Morgan McClure and Stavola. Those were some good rides back in the day. It's sad what Brian France and the Corporate world have done to Racing... I would have to go with BAM Racing....they're current situation doesn't look favorable for any possible return (it has been reported/rumored that they would be back this fall) but some of "insider" friends tell me that they are done unless sponsorship is found. Of course that's only 2nd hand info...but they've been right more than they've been wrong. I see Front Row making it at least until 2010...that seems about right the time it'll take Bob Jenkins will finally run out of money. Furniture Row is another one those "satellite" teams of HMS....don't see them going anywhere....unless they just decide they don't want to do it anymore. Just opinions...... Hall of fame racing BAM Racing, I doubt they'll come back. BAM and Front Row are already shut down and Furniture Row is good enough to move on to the 2009 season. Hall of Fame will exist they have enough financial backing but other 3 will fold and maybe Wood Bros. Racing

Wow the exact same thing happened to me with Dale Jr. Even worse after he spit on me, some of his loser fans attacked me until security arrived. I just wanted an autograph and was wearing a #20 shirt. Oh for god's sake, I'm not even a Kyle Busch fan and this is ridiculous. That's crazy how it did that to you! Carl Edwards is very very nice but you might think he's all wired he has a charity but not trying to be mean but he's was busy probably That's not nice.
