Does anyone know which drivers are going to be in NYC for champions week 2008?

May be...

  • Sorry but you're outta luck on that one. No Jr @ NYC. He didn't finish in the top 10.
  • The top 10, plus those receiving other special awards.
  • Only the Top 10 get to go to the Championship Banquet in NYC, which are: Johnson, Edwards, Biffle, Harvick, Bowyer, Burton, J. Gordon, Hamlin, Stewart and Kyle Busch.
However, they have other rewards during the week such as Regan Smith winning Rookie of the Year, and I'm pretty sure that Dale will get the Most Popular Driver reward again, but he will not be on stage at the Banquet like the Top 10 will.
  • That's just not right in not letting Jr come to the banquet. Its atrocious. He is the bestest driver in the world and needs to be there. Im going to write mr fance and helton. Junior Nation, lets protest on nascar.
  • JR will be there but he wont be part of the award ceremony, but he will be there next year!!!!
  • I really want to see dale jr but i'm not sure if only the top 10 drivers will be there. Can anyone help please !!!h2210 rom
  • Since it's NASCAR's off-season,do people think it would be a good time for Dale Jr. to come out of the closet ?

    May be...

  • NO just drive a pink car at Daytona.
  • Grow up.
  • wow, sounds like your just an ignorant child. Don't be jealous that he makes more money in one day than you do in one paycheck.
  • no i do not
with a name like KK i would say you need to come out the closet
the only person i know named KK is a hot blonde coke whore that lives around here
    so now we know
  • Might be a good idea to come out just before the season starts, promotional considerations?

But there is a possibility that he won't either come out of the closet due to fans perhaps being bigoted against said closet, or he may not be in the closet, who's to really tell.
  • ..... and finally try on that spiffy tuxedo, yes.
  • you people are so immature. why can't you just deal with the fact that your never gonna get laid and grow up. if you haven't noticed jr. is not gay he's married. stop crying cause he's off the market get your foot out of your *** and shut up.
  • Who says he is in the closet? He is a very busy man that has a lot going on. He has had girlfriends and relationships. Just because he isn't in a relationship doesn't mean he is gay. Besides if he is in the closet and decides to come out, I would still be a fan. I have been a fan of his since he started out, not because of who he is.
  • It worked for that french guy in "Talledega Nights" and that one gay "Lucha Libre" fighter. Nascar has gone far too long without gay rednecks... Look for subarus with gun racks in the back the next time you go to a race.
  • When did you come out of the closet? What a stupid question
  • Oh I see. The multi-million dollar custom mansion he's building next to his old west town next to his professional go-kart track got you thinking that way-I refer to you as a jealous person.

Or is it because of his custom Camaro that was on the cover of Hot Rod magazine.
  • what time of the year did you come out?
  • Nah, I'll leave him the the closet with that pretty blonde girl he went in there with for a little while longer. They must be having fun.gardening-tools-for-kids
  • BREAKING NEWS: Felippe Massa is in hospital amputating his right leg.....?

    May be...

  • Huh? It's Mark Webber that's in hospital and his leg is NOT getting amputated. Webber's bike collided with a car during his annual Tasmanian Challenge.

Massa is perfectly OK and Webber should be making a full recovery. Let's pray that he gets well soon.

    @Mark Webber, get well soon!
  • You are a pathetic *** hole
  • Where did u get the idea that 1) it was Felipe and 2) that the right leg was going to be amputated?

Mark just had surgery and I did hear that this arm may have a fracture too, but I don't know if that's true or not.

He will remain in the hospital for 3 days.

    Get well soon Mark!
  • its MARK WEBBER
  • Oh no poor Mark Webber! I doubt he'll be in the Race of Champions then :-(
  • What a prat you are.
  • Julian just told me on FB its mark webber. hope he recovers soon, he's one of the good guys
  • Webber had a charity bike race collision.
    http://www.crash.net/motorsport/f1/news/...
Hope he is soon well enough to start testing again.
  • It happened yesterday night i think, he was in a car accident-a very serious one. No one has alkied about his career and is more focused on him getting better................you never no, alonso might be joining the farrari!!- he's wihs may come true!

Oh wait, oh...............it was Mark Webber-his foot is not getting amutated but having sugery!!! Well in that case, get well soon!

  • Would you be happy or upset if...?

    May be...

  • It doesn't bother me a bit.If you've still got it,go for it.Look at how well Brett Favre has been doing with the Jets this year. They have a legitimate shot at the playoffs and the Super Bowl.Mark Martin has done well in his part-time endeavors and I am sure that he will do great next year.I feel that if you have the passion and the opportunity to still participate in your sport of choice, then you should go for it.
  • I wouldn't be upset. I'm glad Mark Martin is back full time. I think he still has something left to offer the sport and its fans. I feel the same way about Brett Favre. Remember when Kenny Wallace started that rumor that Rusty was going to come out of retirement? A lot of people were really excited. So I think it depends on if the individual in question still can contribute to his or her team.
  • Happy. They are human and maybe they think they are ready and when the time comes and they realize maybe they aren't ready to release those emotions of what they had or maybe they feel like there is still more that they can contribute.Pure and Simple yes i would be Happy because it makes them happy.
  • To those people who get upset about someone coming out of retirement I say "So you've never changed your mind?" They need to try and put themselves in other peoples' shoes. They should try retiring from something they love. I have and it sucks.
  • ...if a driver were to retire and then come back? Or any sports figure for that matter? This was exactly what happened in the NFL when Brett Favre retired, only to come back and play for the Jets. In NASCAR, Mark Martin was supposed to retire in 2005, only to stay in '06, then run part-time in '07 and '08, and now he is returning to full-time racing in 2009. It doesn't bother me, but it seems like many people have been upset about someone saying they would retire and then break their commitment to come back. So, what do you think? If someone were to retire and then come back, would you be happy to see the person come back or upset that they would say they would retire and then return to the sport?
  • I'd rejoice, especially if he was still in his prime.
  • I don't like it, their making their decisions too fast, they give us time to move on and decide to stay and mess everyone's plans up. The plans of the fas looking for a new driver and the new driver looking to take over for him.
  • It depends on if they're past their prime or not.
It's better to go out on top or semi-on top than to hang onto a dream that has expired.
If they've still got it, they may as well use it.
But they really should make 110% sure that they want to retire, before announcing it.
  • HAPPY! We traded Ray Bourque BEFORE retirement to give him a chance at the Stanley and all of Boston cried when Colorado didn't win the cup that year and then we all rejoiced when they won the next.

If our heroes actually could make their dreams come true, we'd all be happy.
  • One of the great things about the country that we live in is the fact that people have a free choice of how they want to make a living. I feel if you are still capable of being competitive in your chosen sport then you should be able to compete for as long as you wish. On the other hand, if I were an owner, like Jack Roushe, and my driver retired only to come back to compete against me, I may feel differently. The bottom line is, however, Mark Martin is free to do as he chooses. So, no I do not have a problem with it.
  • I don't really like it, I happen to be a Green Bay fan and that whole situation just divided fans of the team and Brett, I don't hate Brett at all, but the way it worked out just sucked.
  • For me it depends on who we are talking about.

Mark Martin bring it on! He never walked away completely.

Brett Favre I feel he betrayed Green Bay and all his adoring fans. Lambeau Field lost the best quarterback ever known. How do the fans cope with him going to the Jets? That is a hard pill to swallow. He should have stayed retired and if he had any doubts should have stayed with the Packers.
  • Mark Martin annoys me. I thought he would retire after 05. Then a full year with AAA sponsor, then a part time job in 07 and last year. Now a full time job at Hendricks? Make up your mind Mark, you still have talent.
  • I dont like it when guys do that. He is just going to end up tarnishing his legacy like a bunch of drivers have done.(Bill Elliott, Terry Labonte, Kyle Petty, DW, Ricky Rudd)removing ballpoint ink stains
  • Who hopes that Kyle Busch will have another Bad Year again?

    May be...

  • Do you know how many drivers would kill for the kind of bad year Kyle had?

  • Define bad year. With 21 wins (8 in the cup) compared to one for JR.
Ya, ill take another bad year under this scope.
  • yeah it was so bad that...... jr's at the house watching kyle walk across the stage in new york celebrating his 21 wins....
  • naah
how do you figure this year was bad
  • 2008 was not a "bad year" for kyle busch.....he had 21 wins and i bet all drivers want to get that much wins i think 2009 he wants 2 win more!! i think 2009 for kyle will be year of Redemptionin the chase=)
  • Well'I personally don't think he had a bad year this year.He only won 21 races!!
But,no,I don't want him to have a bad season next year.
  • He had a bad time during the chase but his year was phenomenal. So yeah, bring on the "bad year."
  • Not me, I like him. I don't want to see him win everything again because that got boring but better him than some of the others out there.
  • Kyle didn't have a bad year, actually he had a great year up into the chase!
I hope Kyle has a great year!!
  • As a Dale jr fan I sure hope so. Im practicing my beer chunkin this off season.
  • "Another" bad year? Are you implying this past year was "bad"? I'm sure there are at least 30+ drivers who would have given anything for a year as "bad" as Kyle had!
  • "Bad Year"? What are you talking about?
  • The only person I actually wish a bad season on is Montoya. I really hope Kyle has a great season!
  • Kurt had a rough year... Kyle just had a rough Chase. Get your Busches straight. Oh wait, you can't, because you're gay for Gordon.
  • Nope not me. Looking for him to have another Banner year and then raising that trophy in november.

  • I hope he continues to make Dale Jr look bad like he did this year.
  • No, but I hope you have a bad year by having to watch Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon finish 1-2 in the points, in no particular order
  • If 2008 was a "bad year", I cant imagine your definition of a good one. But yes, I hope 2009 is a bad year for him.free kidde porn

Are you like your favorite driver?

    May be...

  • i think carl and i are alike in most ways. i have a goofy side, i'm friendly, and i'm not a door mat, i don't take crap from anyone. just like him

then again, i don't try and beat people up for something totally stupid. oh well, guess there has to be some differences too.
  • My favorite driver is Kasey Kahne and I don't really know enough about him to say that. It's a really good question though....I'm gunna have to reasearch and think about that. Lol
  • my favorite driver isn't on the circuit yet, his name is Tom G and yes, we are very alike cause we are both awesome :)
  • Like Tony Stewart.

I have no patience for stupid people, I dont mind speaking my mind, Im dedicated to what I love doing, and I like to eat.
  • Sure, I bet the only thing that standout is how much Denny knows about baseball. Without that, I guess we're brothers.
  • 24 fan all the way YEEE HAAA
  • no I'm a 99 fan and I never get to pick on Ryan Newman
  • Yep, im a overated jerk just like he is.
  • My fav driver is Jimmie Johnson. We are alike as far as competitive ways. Personality, not so much. I am much more of an outgoing person.
  • Hmmm, maybe a little bit.
I do care for my family an awful lot like Junior does. I am soft spoken like he is. I do not stutter though. He is into the video 's and such ME not so much.

    I would say 50 50
  • To tell you the truth, probably not. I did some quiz on the Pepsi Racing site to see if I'm just like Jeff and I got most of them wrong lol. I was a little surprised about that. However, we can relate to always staying positive. That's one thing I like about Jeff, especially after what he went thru in 2008.
  • hmmm, outspoken, quick tempered, kind, slightly sarcastic and witty...yep, very much like my favorite driver...
  • Good observation Tom. I think I am a lot like Junior in many ways.

My public speaking needs a LOT of work, I am hardworking, loyal and honest. I don't think I am better than anyone else, I am down to earth and pretty laid back except for my need for speed! I love going to the track. I have a group of friends I love dearly whom I trust completely and boy can we make each other laugh till it hurts. Oh, & I do sure do love a good party ;)
  • Yep, my man is Kenseth. I'm laid back. I avoid the spotlight when possible. I avoid controversy when possible but stand up for myself when it finds me.
  • Early on he was nowhere near me in personality wise. But the last year and a half I say yes we are. He has been toned down on his on track incidences and have gave alot to his charity and had that Kurt Busch superdome built at VJG camp. He also complimented Jimmie Johnson runs for a three peat. He knew he was witnessing greatness and said it in his interviews.
  • yes you are. thats neat that I also see him in you. .

Am I like Kyle?? Oh I can be a real smarta$$ but choose to hold a lot of it in. Not so much him sometimes. lol also he has a devil may care attitude and one that I think I have to a certain extent.
But after he was having so much trouble in the chase and was getting down on himself...well I was just as down for him.
so yeah I think I do have some of the same personailty traits that Kyle has.

Tony....he's a brooder and yes so am I. sometimes. and a pouter. lol

Elliot...maybe not so much except that he is just a darn good person. and I try to be. I don't know as I would always have the kind of positive outlook as he does in times of trouble.

    GREAT QUESTION!!!!
  • From what I've read/seen I'd say we have some common personality traits: usually quiet, laid back, blunt, sometimes short fuse, tendency to speak before thinking. Gotta love it!
  • Yes I am just like Jeff Gordon ,I didn't win a race this year either !
  • Exactly like Robby Gordon.

-I like to be independent (own my own business and work for it or family--dad like I do now)

-I take no crap from people and am just out in life doing what I enjoy (like Robby does with racing)

-I love variety. Robby likes variety in his different styles of racing (off road, nascar, etc.) I like variety in my life.

-Attitude. I got one too but I can drop it if need be (as he can) and am very excepting of other legitimate people.

-Just having fun. I like to just have fun, as Robby does and I love to drive.
  • that tells me to stay away from you before you put me in the wall or wreck and take me with you
  • Personality wise?

I think we all subconsciously pick a driver that is just like us beause me and Elliott Sadler have very similar personalities.
  • Absolutely. However,it is not the personality that you see on tv.Jimmie has a very crazy, playful type of personality off the track. He let a little of that shine through on NASCAR Victory Lane last Sunday.Did anyone see that? For those who didn't,Jimmy Spencer was asking Jimmie about keeping up the good work and he accidentally said,"how do you get it up" and Jimmie started laughing and said,"did you just ask me how I get it up?"LOL
  • Truex Jr and Menard

Me: Quiet and out of the way. I'd say Yes
  • Kind of, we both don't care what anyone else thinks.
  • I like Dale Jr. & Jeff Gordon I think I could get along with them. Dale Jr. is very friendly what you see is what you get with him I'm like that too.
  • Im exactly like junebug. Autograph and everythang.
  • Nope. Elliott Sadler is almost the exact opposite of me. I wish I were more like him <LOL>, but the only things we have in common are our Virginia roots and dark looks.

I'm probably more like my other favorite, Mark Martin. I ain't flashy, but I get the job done <LOL.>
  • I would like to think we are. Casey seems to be a very fair and understanding person and I would like to think that I am the same.
  • Hmm..me? Like Rowdy?

    No nonsense personality? x
    Sarcastic? x
Not as bad as people think? x
    Flamboyant? x
    At times obnoxious? x
23 years old? o (in my dreams)
Competitive as all get out? x
Hates to admit wrong doing? x
    Moody? o

And I do tend to cause controversy. I don't mean to, it just.....happens.
Yeah, I'd say we're pretty similar personality wise.
  • nope i'm just like his daddy which was my favorite
    a hardheaded @sshole
  • well I do not talk as fast as Matt but I am sure that I have that laid back approach at times, other times, yea like when he gets revenge those few times, that would be me too....good question!oddworld adventure
  • What do you like best about Elliott Sadler?

    May be...

  • I like Elliot's attitude ,he is just a laid back cool dude. As far as his season ,let me just say that I wish he was in a Chevy !
  • I like his overall attitude as driver and he has a heart of a great person. They dont make too many of these kinda guys in the garage. I think Elliott will have a much better year that this year. GEM will hopefully get their kinks out and puts out some decent equipment for Elliott, Kasey and Reed.
  • I like his personality best.He is such a great guy and one of those that you would like to see do well.

Did anyone see Hermie Sadler get his butt kicked on TNA wrestling last night? My dad watches that crap and I was snoozing in the chair and all I heard them say Hermie's name.Apparently,he is doing some kind of show with them or something lol.Anyway,he got clobbered(fakely,of course).
  • He keeps his head up. He may have a bad race, but he doesn't let that affect him next race. i think he will do well next year. i can see him winning a race or two.
  • He's funny, nice, and I love that Virginia accent of his! Besides, he always has a positive attitude, no matter what happens. I'd like to see him have a good and successful year.
  • I like them there britches he is wearing.
  • hmmm... what do i like about elliott sadler....... let's see....hmmmm
let me go do some research on him, i'll get back to ya.

nope, sorry, not comin' up with anything
  • His foundation is for Autism awareness.
He is funny, I have to say.

    And yummy. He's definately yummy.

  • His name. It's neat.
  • his car looks nice.................before the race starts.
  • He seems like a very nice guy.
  • What don't I like? Lol I like best that no matter how crappy a race goes and no matter how bad he or is team screwed up, he always thanks him and is optimistic about the next week. Every week he says he is looking for the win, I like that.
  • How do you think he will do next season with the changes?
  • Let me count the ways:

    1) He's funny as heck.
    2) He's laid-back and has a good attitude, no matter what happens during the race.
    3) He's a better driver than most people think. He just has the worst luck.
    4) His accent.
    5) His broad shoulders <LOL.>
    6) His looks in general. The boy is HOT. Though I wish he'd grow his hair back out and bring back the goatee. He's better scruffier.

I'm hoping he'll improve next season. He's had a full season with the COT now. Maybe he needs is to borrow Jimmie Johnson's horseshoe.
  • He is a super sweet nice guy, he really takes the time to get to know his fans and well he is hot!!!!!!
  • Sadler is a solid driver week in week out. Just has some bad luck.
He will run hot sooner or later.
  • I like that he is a very down to earth guy. He could be the guy next door. He is also a very good and optimistic driver.
  • he IS a great driver. One with some bad luck though. And his attitude is mostly so upbeat even after a wreck or a flat...and ya gotta know it frustrates him to no end but he is always looking to the next race.
  • He rarely finishes ahead of the 17.bullitens
  •
