1. Ayrton Senna won his first championship for the Marlboro McLaren Honda Team in 1988 by beating teammate Alain Prost for the win and the title at Suzuka, Japan.
2. May 1st 1994, he crashed heavily whilst leading the race in his Rothmans Williams Renault FW16, at the San Marino Grand Prix held at Imola in the Tamborello Curve following a steering rod failure which blew out and ended up going through his visor and into his head above the right eye. He was declared dead that evening at 18:40 Local time at the Majore Hospital in Bologna.
