The answer u want is this lol Denny Hamlin is young and a good driver so is Martin Truex jr. Those are the 2 drivers i chose when The Intimidator died i like junior but not a bandwaggoner and when he decides racing is more important than commercials he'll do great right now he is doing good but he has too many distractions....I am not a Busch fan neither Kurt nor Kyle do it for me but I do have them in my fantasy racing leagues lol look for Kyle to maintain his edge n Kurt hoping to keep up with his bro lol Brother, you have to make that decision on your own, and there is NO right or wrong answer here. There are SO MANY good drivers out there - from Stewart, Johnson, Gordon, or Jr. to Busch, the other Busch, Truex Jr., Kahne, Biffle, Harvick, Burton.... and the list goes on and on and on and... Take some time, sit back, and find the driver that fits YOU. Why listen to a bunch of biased & opinionated (yes, that's ALL of us, me too) individuals? BE FREE & INDEPENDENT. I guarantee you'll be more happy with the choice, because it was your own! He battled Jeff Gordon for several titles back in the 1990s, why not choose him? He's not as "new" as all the young guys and is one of the few veterans left from that era, before the youth invasion.
Of course, Gordon did pioneer that very same movement.
Jarrett was very good at Daytona (3 500 wins) and so is Gordon (3 500 wins). Elliott Sadler and him were like best friends from what I seen and he always talks about him during race broadcasts. Picking a new driver isn't like picking out a pair of pants to wear that day. You have to find the one that fits closest to your own personality, believes, and morals. Now this may be a little difficult to do since you don't actually get to sit down and have a one-on-one conversation with them or anything like that, but you can watch their mannerisms, how they carry themselves at the track, and how they treat the fans and the press.
Now, on the assumption that you are looking for an older, more experienced driver to be your second favorite, Bobby Labonte, Jeff Burton, Kenny Schrader, or Kenny Wallace would be great choices. If you are wanting a middle aged driver who should be around for a while yet you can choose from the obvious - Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick, or Dale Jr. Now for the youngest / up and coming drivers you have your choice of Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Kasey Kahne, Clint Bowyer (although he could also be in the second group), or Martin Truex Jr.
But take a look at this list of remaining drivers and think about who is on it: Casey Mears, David Ragan, Greg Biffle, Sam Hornish Jr., Brian Vickers, Matt Kenseth, Elliott Sadler, J.J. Yeley, Jamie McMurray, and a few others I left out.
They all have something unique about them or something that you can watch a couple of races and say, "When I think of "so and so" I think of "this driver."
I personally am a huge Tony Stewart fan and have often wondered who I would choose to follow if and when Tony retires. I have narrowed it down to Carl Edwards (but this is kind of not fair, we used to race modifieds against him at the dirt track back in Moberly, MO.) or Elliott Sadler (he actually has some of the same atributes as Tony but he just isn't as vocal about things yet, plus he is still looking for that "perfect" car to get him to the front for once. Now, I have also met and partied with Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace and let me tell you, these 2 guys are absolutely great guys and VERY funny.
It's not going to be an easy choice but only you can make that "right" choice for you. Don't let anyone steer you in the wrong direction (pun intended, LOL) David Reutimann is going to drive the #44 UPS Toyota. I wish you luck. Terry Labonte was (and is still) my favorite. I haven't been able to pick anyone to take his place.
It's not all bad, though. I've found that it's fun to cheer on different drivers, depending on the circumstances. Especially the underdogs, and the drivers that I think might have gotten an unfair penalty. i got the doll for free somewhere in mint condition and i am never getting rid of it. i am keeping it. never opened. i mean how much would the doll have been when it was out? how much did it go for in 2003? I'd probably say Jeff Burton.. I would say MWR should give the Ride to someone who has Paid their dues like-Boris Said- Mike Bliss or Mike Skinner or Tony Raines!!!!!!!! Kyle Busch. Bobby Labonte, possibly. Or Jeff Burton as mentioned above. Those two are probably the closest to DJ personality wise. They are also great drivers and well respected just like DJ.
If you want a new guy keeping with the same type of person, go with Bowyer. Level headed and easy going. Yet, a heck of a driver!! (He will get a Cup within 5 years) Go with Juan Pablo or Kyle Bush just to pi$@ people off. lol
Thats how I became a Petty fan in the 80's, a Spencer fan in the 90's and a Stewart fan in 1999.
Chili anyone? "ding ding" I would say Jeff Burton also. He is a very clean, classy driver. He treats everyone with respect. He doesn't lose his cool behind the wheel. he is a very solid driver.

update me! I don't have Sirius radio, so I'm just wondering if anyone here listened to his show last night. Did he go through with it? If so, did he scream his head off? He may be mad but this whole thing was for charity so I don't think he backed out. I hope there would be audio of it somewhere on the web...lol OUCH!!!

I would have to say I love the short tracks because more skilled is involved and there is alot more action!! I live 6 miles from RIR. My family live 5 miles from Martinsville. I've got it made. My favorite is Martinsville. The racing there is great. There is ALWAYS a great battle going on somewhere. TV does that race no justice. I do as well. Richmond and Bristol are the best IMO. Yes Ma'am I do! I personally live for the short tracks, especially Bristol and Martinsville. There's nothing quite like seeing 43 cars driving over 100mph on something that's only twice the size of your local high school's running track. I hate seeing guys wreck, but I love watching them trade paint and bump and beat each other out of the way on the short tracks. Adrenaline flows, tempers flare, push comes to shove.......... you get the point. Yes. Bristol, Martinsville and Phoenix (one mile flat track). Yes, I do and my favorite is Bristol though I have never been, However I hope before I die I get to go!
Martinsville, and Richmond r also good I love all the action that Bristol typically brings but my favorites are the super speedways! DOES HOWDY DOODY GOT WOODEN BALLS? OF COURSE I LOVE THE FLAT TRACKS! MARTINSVILLE IS MY FAVORITE BUT LOVE THEM ALL!! I agree, I love richmond and bristol. Old school NASCAR.. what's not to love? No I Do Not Id much rather watch a race at Daytona or Charlotte. Although my favorite in person Id have to say is Loudon. Martinsville is my personal favorite. The racing action is great and there are generally fewer cautions there than Bristol. It is much flatter and takes a real finesse driving style to be successful. I like the fact that it is more technical and harder to master than the high banked tracks. The finish last year between Jimmie and Jeff was my all time favorite and is an instant classic. Great racing and finishes at the oldest track in the cup series, not to mention the hotdogs, what more could you want? I love the short tracks......tell me which ones you prefer and why. Richmond-Martinsville-Bristol--I relate to them the Best as I drive on 1/2 Mile Ovals in my state!!!!!!!!! Yeah but I like Talledega and daytona better because of the drafting and escpecially with the new car way more racing and action packed. I like Bristol it's a piece of History The Monster Mile !!!

I love Dover the most!! I live like 4 hours away but I go there because it's amazing!! Martinsville. I love the short tracks. Its what everyone does to get up to the big leagues of racing. It also brings the beatin and banging term back to Nascar.

It depends on what contingency programs the driver or team is participating in. Some drivers may perform better in a race, but other drivers might be participating in sponsor programs that get them money for finishing the race, finishing well, or winning.

everyone else pitted that was behind Kevin, and then he got out first. Now there were three cars that didn't pit, (11,20,and 88) so they were 1st 2nd and 3rd, so Kevin coming out first from the pits made him 4th!!! Get it!!!?
WhooHoo!!! Congratulations to Jeff Burton!!! The cars behind him on the lead lap pitted man.. or at least that's what I saw. yea alot of the cars that passed him werent on the lead lap and the point at which he crossed the pit line is when the other cars where just now or not yet passing the start\finish line!!!!!!!!!! There was only about 15 cars on the lead lap and most of them also pitted at the same time. Late in the race you have to make a choice. Stay out for track position with old tires or pit and get much better tires and know your car will be faster than the ones that stay out.
There was little risk because he would probably get a top 10 even if nobody else pitted and he probably couldn't win the race on old tires. The tires gave him a shot to win the race especially when everybody else came in meaning he didn't lose any track position. How did Kevin Harvick go into the pits and come out in the fourth position when cars stayed out on the track? I dont understand. Shouldnt have the cars behind him who also stayed out gained track position? Every body else pitted also behind him that was on the lead lap--Some lapped cars stayed out which did happen---BUT seeing as how there was less than 10 laps it was a single file restart!!!!!! All the cars behind him on the lead lap also pitted. they would have if they were on the lead lap but the cars that passed him weren't on the lead lap thats why when they have restarts under caution there will be drivers that are laps down starting in the fronts of the packs at that point there were less than 10 laps left and there were about MAYBE 15 cars on the lead lap most of which pitted except for Hamlin, Stewart, and Earnhardt Well, at bristol it's a little different. There is two pit roads. One on each side. While maintaining pit road speed (anywhere from 30-55 MPH in some places) If you can pit and make it around and out in time before the cars get completely around the track and you can come out in front of them, then u get ur position back. And there was a caution out so he made a pretty good call.

Im going to pull for Marco Andretti. Jimmie will be in Charlotte the day of the Indy 500 running the Coco Cola 600. That said it will be hard for him to win thew Indy 500 since he won't be there. Not a chance. Jr is HMS star now. Ha ha ha.....If thats the case then i will go with the #29 of Harvick.....
GO HARVICK & RCR!!!! As soon as Jr wins the Kentucky Derby. He isn't going to win the Indy 500 or the Brickyard 500 (which should be the Brickyard 400) Indy is for Indy Cars and the Brickyard 400 was renamed the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard as of 2005.

Yea you go ahead and bet the farm on that one. he might win the brickyard 500. the indianapolis 500 is for open wheel irl type cars. i say irl type cause i don't know what it will be called if they remerge with champ car.
