Joe Nemechek has done very well in his career with the little that he's gotten. For that, I respect him. He, unlike many of the go or go homers, genuinely wants to FINISH a race. He's had some great runs, and I wish him the best in all future endeavors. Joe Nemechek! At least he has won and I wish he had better equipment. This start and park bs sucks! Rather not see these guys race at all if all they are doing is qualify and quit the race shortly after the green flag is waved. Joe would be a much better choice for the 12 then David Stremme! Probably Joe Nemechek because he never ruffles anyone's feathers (unless its Kevin Harvick) and hes a good driver he just doesnt have the equipment or the luckkotor swoop upgrade

LMAO when you find the answer let me know, he qualifies (gosh knows how) and then runs a few and then parks it and has a drink. I guess he gets paid ok but I guess in a recession you do what you have to do. But still.... I have a feeling he drives for one of the "Start & Park" teams. The team owner brings the car to the track, qualifies & then instructs Dave to spin 10-20 laps. Don't bust up the car & then take it to the garage for a "mechanical failure". Team collects $50-80k & they are on the trailer to the next venue. It's not him, its his team. He probably comes cheap. Because he is bad *** like that How is Gods name can u sit and watch cars drive in circles? If you're from the southern states, I understand. They seriously can't find ANYONE better than him to drive? Have you seen his stats? He's been in 21 races this season. Of those 21, ONLY 3 TIMES has he finished BETTER than 40TH!!!!!!!!!!

The man has 20 DNF's in 21 races. Why even waste the resources sending him out there? If you had ever watched one of those races, you would realise that he is on a start and park team. This means that he only runs a handful of laps, pulls off and goes laughing to the bank. He can qualify better than some other people. Otherwise, they would be out there instead of him. However, I don't understand the point of having these teams. I would be in favour of downsizing the field. Yes, we're used to 43 cars. However, if several of them are going to pull right off, why even let them start. If you cannot afford to run an entire race, you shouldn't be out there IMO. The field fillers are more likely to cause wrecks than the other drivers, anyways. He stays in racing in NASCARs name

I don't have a favorite. I have ranks of drivers I root for depending on whom they are racing with for the win.
Level 1 Drivers include:
Dale Jr, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Mark Martin, Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle, David Rueitamann, Marcos Ambrose, Michael Waltrip, Clint Bowyer, and Jeff Burton
Level 2 Drivers are only rooted against if they are racing a Level 1 Driver: Matt Kenseth, Jamie McMurray, Jeff Gordon, Brian Vickers, Casey Mears, Kevin Harvick
Level 3: Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman. They are the bottom feeders of the list and anybody I haven't listed I don't have an opinion about. I'm trying to decide...I like Kasey Kahne, Casey Mears, Dale Earnheardt, Dale Jr., Jimmie Jonson, and more...Who's your Favorite? My absolute favorite driver is Dale Jr! But I really like Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Jimmie Johnson, and Carl Edwards. Joey Logano is my favorite driver of all and Kyle Busch is second.
Joey is my favorite because he is less than a year older than I am and he a an all around great driver/guy.
Kyle is second because he is disliked by many, doesn't care what people think and he is a good driver. nncs? its nscs, any way i like casey mears the best but if you look at my profile, i have a list of drivers Dale jr, Kasey Kahne, There are a few others out there i like i mean i like watching Reed Sorenson, Casey Mears, Scott Speed, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Brian Vickers. P.S. If you start pulling for Dale Earnhardt, you won't see him win many races because he hasn't raced since the 2nd race of 2001. My favorite is Kevin Harvick. Sorry. you bet. especially the funny ones. ha ha I never send mine out to vote really. I kind of like choosing. I have never got voted in though come to think on that. I do sometimes, when I'm extremely bored. Don't worry too much about the cleanliness in the NASCAR section. We have rat finks - oops, I meant trusted reporters to keep it all nice and clean. : ) yes i do but i go to other sections that i don't always answer in I never vote. I do go back and see how many thumbs up and down I get though. Sometimes, but not real often. i vote sometimes It's a point and it gives me a chance for ten, if I answered the question. I like picking the best answer though. It's like picking a Padawan. So many choices, but the best is always taken. Yes I do especially when there is nothing going on in here and Im bored. It does keep it nice & tidy. I have noticed we hardley ever have more than 2 pages of unreslved question. I always vote on those, it keeps our section nice and clean... LOL. That would be a great view, my friend. If they don't let you in the race, park it in the infield & you'll still have your 360 degree view. It may not go as fast as the other cars but with a 360 degree fishbowl view no one can sneak up on me. You wont be allowed no where near the track, I think the other drivers may be jealous of such a ride.... absolutley not the cars have to fit the templates lol

kyle will be done with the checkers or wreckers when he is sitting in first place heading into homestead and wrecks from a stupid decision and loses the championship. he has come a long ways but he is still a little hot headed to compete for the cup. i like kyle, hes got alot of talent and the smarts to be great. hes just really young and still learning. look at alot of drivers who were the checkers and wreckers and became the greats. ned jarrett, junior johnson, david pearson, dale earnhardt, darrell waltrip, carl edwards, tony stewart, the list goes on. it will come with age. He never really had it to begin with.
Contrary to popular opinion. Yes, and I think that's who he is. I think it makes him and individual and I like him for that reason.. It wouldn't bother me a bit if he never "grows up" as haters like to say. yes...hes going to take out anyone in his way.. No way Jose! But if he did I'd smile. :) Kyle was real good with mark last week. I was surprised. gave him plenty of room. I think he will be concerned about making it in the chase and will actually be careful which could get him in trouble. he still needs to grow up. he got a lesson in humbleness this week when mark martin raced him fairly and had opportunities to wreck him but didn't.

I can already see the thumbs down. If you want to know what makes NASCAR so interesting, you have to understand what it takes to create the "object of play" (the race car).
Now if you compare that to the "object of play" in a ball game, you would wonder why people get excited over a "ball". Many people like it.
The racing is competitive and the drivers are still fairly accessible unlike most sports starts. It is a family sport. Everyone gathers together on Sundays, cooks on the grill and enjoys an exciting NASCAR race. With all the fuel mileage, wrecks, lead changes, pit strategy, it's the best way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Once the Chase for the Cup starts, it only heats up even more until a Champion of the most popular sport in the country has been crowned. Something that I think is interesting is when somebody comes in to the pits and when they come out they gain like 8 spots from how quick their pitstop was. Also, it is interesting when the 2 first and second placemen cars come around the last corner and they are right next to each other and one of them pulls ahead of the other to come in 1st.
Now that is what is interesting about NASCAR!!! many people find it boring? More find it fun and exciting. Don't bother "trying" to become a fan. It isn't for you. Go play hopscotch instead. Don't hurt yourself. meh, i dont find it all that interesting. I would reconsider another sport. i tried to like it but its not my taste. i would look into rubgy if i were you. All I can suggest is to go to a race, even if it is a local dirt track and watch it live in person. A race on television can be a little boring at times. Live you can just about see everything that goes on and see the competition that goes on during a race. And if you still find it boring, then you more than likely always will. Good for you. Nascar is a fast paced, technical sport. The cars are driving at such fast speeds that it's impossible to not be fascinated by it. Then there's the driving. Each driver runs hard and beats and bangs for 500 laps. It can get boring at times, but you always have to keep a chin up. Then, grab a nice cold Crystal Light Raspberry Lemonade (I don't know how I lived without that stuff for so long), some popcorn, twizzlers, and snuggle down on the couch with your pet Gungan and watch you some NASCAR!! Nascar is a family sport. It is the only sport that many of the drivers bring their family. There is a lot of history there.

the races are awsome but at the end someone always ends up hating each other NASCAR Stock Car racing allows for more competitive racing. Bumping each other, trading paint, rubbin' tires. They can do all of this without wrecking or causing too much damage to each other. You won't get that from most other forms of racing, specifically open wheel racing of any sort (Formula One, Indy, etc.). i am trying to become a fan, but i need help in finding the fun part. lets face it, many people find it boring, but im trying to get into it.arkenoids

The issues were Bernie wanted an average of $22 million over the next five years from the track for the race. The tracks in F1 do not get any of the TV money, so that $22 million had to come from gate receipts and sponsorship. The track management was not able to commit to that amount, so the race was dropped.
Rumors are flying that the race will return for 2010. That means either a wonderful corporation with money to burn came out of the woodwork, Bernie caved, or the race won't be back. Yeah, thankfully Bernie has seen the light, hes already claimed hed like to see the Canadian GP back next year. It should never have been axed, stoopid decision, hope its back soon. They couldnt find a sponser to help funding. The people in the city didnt want to pay the taxes. According to SPEEDTV the race has been added for next year. I havent looked anywhere to back it up yet.
Bernie is getting excited about a USGP for next year too. Monza last year he said they have it narrowed to 3 venues

More F1 money comes from the US and Northamerica than any other region, and somehow theres no race here and only one in the western hemisphere The race got axed in 2009, citing "economic issues." What issues. I want the Canadian GP back, pronto! Is there anyway to have the Canadian GP back for 2010? Weel, they didn't have the funds Bernie asked for. The amount needed to stage a race was not in their reach. Plus, I think when the track surface broke up in 2008 just gave Bernie more reason to axe it.
If they can get race funding and there's a spot on the calendar for them, i'd say it's possible. (There are new possible venues for F1 which include India and South Korea...) It's one of those venues that have provided exciting races over the years. And F1 needs to have a race in the Americas. Having Canada back would be good for F1fromtier airline

On the west coast we have Spec-Sprints that only allow 2 barrel carbs and 4 barrel intake. We also have Wingless Pavement/Asphalt Sprints (360 2 barrel). Yes, wingless sprint cars cost less to run than racing with a wing. The two largest cost factors in operating any race car are tire and engine costs. At racing speeds, the 25 sq. ft. wing area on a sprint car generates well in excess of 700 lbs. of down force. The down force creates exponentially more load on the engine, increasing the stress on the crank shaft, bottom end bearings, as well as the connecting rods. Also, because of the increased grip, the engine operates in a higher rpm range, on average. Tire costs are also increased due to the loads generated by the wing.

You just now realizing that? It's been going on. They let him (Toyota) drive cars with engines that had an unfair advantage over the rest of the field. They also allowed Toyota to run smaller openings in the front of the cars which was unfair. The whole idea of the COT was to even the playing field and then NASCAR allows Toyota (Kyle's car) to have an aerodynamic advantage.

Please....he won the race fair and square. He raced smart, and clean. NASCAR threw a red flag so we had some laps left to watch the boys race. If they hadn't, we would have had a green white checkered. There was no 30 lap caution...gimme a break.

They entertain me. your sad...... In the last 70 laps or so it seemed like a minor caution flag was 30 laps. Plus, when Michael Waltrip crashes, they should have started with 6 to go, not 4. Was NASCAR trying to help Kyle Busch to get the most hated driver in the chase for the ratings of having him? If there is anyone NASCAR would not help it's Kyle Busch. Not at all because no one really cares about NASCAR. That is very possible, since Nascar is rigged. i'm totally with you i'm mad because he always has a fast car and the other drivers help him win. Kurt Busch Jeff Gordon no doubt Mark Martin i say kyle bush then mark martin. and most likely michael waltrip will wreck Either Mark Martin or Jeff Gordon, Mark has a good car and Jeff has been flying through the field. I doubt Kyle Busch will even make it to the end... I'm hoping that it's either Mark Martin or Marcos Ambrose. Bill H is my long lost twin brother! Oh and if I would have seen this question b4 the race ended I would have said Kyle Busch. Go Rowdy Go!!! I think Jimmie Johnson and Mark Martin are the ones who will have a shot at victory tonight. Kurt Busch is looking good too, but it will be a battle between the Hendrick cars for the win IMO. They usually keep the script private. That way people will watch the race.
