Bottom of the 8th, Fox has a chance to redeem themselves, will they?

May be...

  • I said the same thing. Wonders never cease, they redeemed themselves.

Well kinda.....NASCAR did push the race back five minutes to help out too.
  • No, definately not.
  • What? Bottom of the 8th? Someone must have their sports confused. lol
  • No. Maybe I could understand if it was baseball playoffs, but right now ball games are a dime a few dozen so they need to be showing the whole race which means prerace activities etc.
  • i think fox will there better than espn
  • unfortunately, I don't think so..
  • In NASCAR, do all the teams have to use the same motor oil, coolant, etc?

    May be...

  • High Quality H2O
  • i would think they use whatever sponsors them, not all use the same as eachother
  • I know that all the teams use the same tires, and other parts (like restrictor plates and shocks) are mandated and handed out by NASCAR.
  • Yes because what ever sponser nascar has for the time being is what they all use so they keep the sponser happy.
  • no
  • Most teams will use whatever oil they find to be best through testing. Even if it's different from the sponsor. I used to work for a team sponsored by Valvoline (not a NASCAR team) and we'd take the labels off Red Line bottles and put Valvoline stickers on 'em.
  • no
  • no they use whoever sponsors them or who they like.
  • They choose their own oil. Water is the only coolant allowed.
  • No, they use whatever their car company supplies. That's why Tony Stewart is crying.
  • Kyle Busch Vs Jimmy Spencer?

    May be...

  • after last night i wonder what would of happen if jimmy Spencer or Kevin Harvick was in that 66 car ?? my guess is he prob would have gottin tore a new one any body agree with me
  • Now Spencer would of busted Kyle in the mouth just like he did to his brother a few years back but Harvick would of just ran his mouth. I don't think that it is over between Kyle and Wallace either. And by the way Kyle, next time you confront someone to step out of his car to fight you take the helmet off first you little sissy!!!!
  • People shouldn't diss Kevin Harvick. He's no wuss. He's just trying and wanting to stay out of trouble. He's a car owner now and he wants to keep a good image of himself, he doesn't need to be physically fighting and getting put on nascar probation. Kevin is growing up and maturing.

And for this question.... please! All you are out to do is get at Kyle Busch's fans. Grow up. Harvick did!
  • Hey Tbone. Harvick backed down because Juan explained he was pushed into him.
  • dude, just let it go. it is not that serious.
  • You're guess is right..lol. That boy is a sore loser. He thinks it ok to be "rowdy" but if someone does it to him it's boo-hoo time! He was called lots of names after last night's race, I was lmao!
  • Harvick is a wuss dude. He backed down from JPM last year like a little girl. Now Spencer on the other hand. Thats a different story.

Here. This proved Harvick is all bark and no bite. Juan was ready to tear him a new....well you know.

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=IMCmiTnFlL4
  • dam, you sure do like to talk about Kyle Busch alot, huh
  • Get over it and move on already...
    Jimmy Spencer..pff..
  • What current NASCAR racers have "Smokey" as a nickname?

    May be...

  • Tony Stewart #20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota
    Home Depot, Subway, Coca-Cola
Fat hairy guy who goes to Subway for some high-fat hoagies.
  • tony stewert
  • Hey Ed P. It's Smoke. Not Smokey. I don't know of any driver named Smokey. I guess it would have been a good name for Shane Hmiel. (son of crewchief Steve Hmiel thrown out for smoking pot) Years ago their was a driver named Smokey Unik. Boogity, boogity, boogity!
  • Tony Stewart!!!!!!
  • How Marcus Ambrose Doing In Nascar?

    May be...

  • He is 16th in the Nationwide series, one step below the Nascar Sprint cup series. He has not run in the cup races yet this year. You can keep track of him here

    http://www.nascar.com/races/bg/2008/data...
  • Unfortunly I Havent seen him race so hows he going?
  • 2.5.08

Does anyone know why MWR cars have...?

    May be...

  • Ha ha, I dunno. Have you noticed their chrome wheels before?
  • sure don't....
Still wondering why he has a Roush ''SWAYBAR'' under the frontend !!
  • Didn't get advice from Home Depot about the color, like Tony did with the #20.
  • because he didn't use DUPONT paint!
  • ...an eggshell white splitter when the rest of the car is pearl white or is it just the shadowing? I think it looks really bad and want to know why they do it.
  • Ok make your predition who wins this week at richmond good luck?

    May be...

  • Dale JR. his last win was there and he has been in the hunt for a good part of the season so look for jr. to be a front runner tommorrow he really needs a win.
  • a J almendinger
  • if i went by practice...i'd have to pick Dale Jr.
  • Jeff Gordon
  • Matt Kenseth!
  • Denny Hamlin
  • I have said it before and now again Carl Edwards
  • Denny followed by Clint, Kyle, Ryan and Tony.
  • Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon & I bet many will pick Jr just like they have done for the past 71 races.
  • 88 Jr 88
  • Sure people will pick him to win week in and week out but this week it's for real. I see him winning it this week for sure. It's been 2 years, 71 races, it's all different this time, new car, new sponsor, new number, new owner, new team, new equipment, and equipment that can win.
It's gonna be Dale E Junebug
Right behind him, once again, will be Denny Hamlin I believe.
  • What do u think about Randy Moss to take nascar truck??

    May be...

  • I think it's cool. He should have plenty of homeboys ready to get into that action. I know some homies, that if they compete, they would take all expression off your face. You better watch out, there may be another NASCAR revolution.
  • it all depends what tye of finacial help he brings and who he is able to hire if he tries to run things it will sink fast
  • Maybe it will help bring some credibility to the sport. The sport has an image problem to those who dont follow it.
  • I think I' going to laugh because he knows nothing about NASCAR! He should stay and play football!
  • I think it's a good thing! I wish the best of luck and I'll be supporting him.

If I had the money, i would start a team too.
  • I think it would be interesting. Who would sponsor him? Cadillac? Nike? lol!

I don't think anyone can just jump in w/o experience in driving in motorsports.
  • Let us all thank NASCAR for the diversity program. Has Brian France ever wondered why attendance and ratings are slipping. What a joke
  • You have to remember that Randy Moss will not be driving his own truck. He's the financial backer of the start-up team. As a football player, its very unlikely he would hold the talent and the abilities to be able to compete at the Nascar truck level.

Dan Marino and Troy Aikman are also involved in Nascar ownership. They do it for the money.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Moss retire from NFL in a few years, and use his truck team to suppliment his retirement income.
  • Do you think dale Earnhardt Jr is secretly gay?

    May be...

  • maybe you are gay
  • I've heard the medical profession is rife with homosexuals but I never heard that said about NASCAR. Anything is possible. A friend of mine thinks Jeff Gordon is gay because his car is too colorful.
    .
  • Seems like he's always hanging out with guys, don't it? Add to that the fact that he's now teammates with Jeffie and Jimmie, and you KNOW all the rumors rampant about them......
  • I highly doubt it. If his dad was alive and he was gay, he would kick his *** all the way to Alaska.
  • Anything is possible.
  • Naw, he can't be, 'cause I am and he's never at the meetings! Actually I think they ALL are! I mean we have a bunch of guys who spent all day Sunday in Talladega banging each other in the rear end!
  • For those of you who wonder why your questions are reported, or get thumbs down. Heres a prime example. I dont do it. You do.
  • Oh please! u are mental retard! Dale is straight man! He love women!
  • Look in the mirror son, you are the one that works for dick.
  • Never crossed my mind, I never associated NASCAR with that. Now you got my wondering... now worried!!!
  • No, I do not think that at all.
  • Why won't NASCAR switch to a speed-only qualifying system?

    May be...

  • The only valid justification I see for the current qualifying system is that it ensures that the "stars" will be in the races every week.

It's got to be a huge psychological and financial pain to have the 10th fastest car but get bumped out because another car is in the top 35 in points.
  • I agree with you 100 percent, but you also have to look at it like this. What if the points leader goes out to qualify, and he cuts a tire or something on the qualifying lap, and ends up qualifying last. He shouldn't be in the race? It would really cause problems if one of the guys in the top 15 in points miss the race. You can get as much as 190 points in a race, so it would be crucial if you miss a race leading the points. Especially if it is during the chase. They do need to modify the qualifying procedere a little, but there also has to be a sure way of letting the top drivers in the race. If anything, they can make it like the top 30 in points, or top 25 in points are guaranteed spots. That might make it ok. But i DO agree with you. It has to suck if you are the 10th fastest in qualifying and not make the race.
  • it is simple really modern day nascar wants to forget where it came from and the small teams
  • I agree. It isn't Saturday night at the local track. Millions of dollars are spent on each car. I still don't like the top 35 locked in to race however. That's one of many changes the France family has screwed up in NASCAR.
  • what if you travel several hundred miles and spend $1000 plus to see a NASCAR race and your favorite driver, or your child's idol, say jeff gordon for example, isn't in the race because his engine blew during qualifying. that wouldn't make you too happy, would it? this is NOT saturday night short track racing, this is the pinnacle of american motor sports. fans pay good money and tune their TVs in on sundays to see the stars of NASCAR, and there's nothing wrong with that. teams who race their way into the top 35 in owner points deserve to be rewarded for their success, do they not? the current system is just fine, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

and besides, if a go or go homer is 10th fastest in qualifying, it's usually because he's practiced solely in qualifying trim while the top 35 practice mostly in race trim, if they put more effort into qualifying in practice that go or go homer would not be 10th fastest. this is especially true in impound races, like talladega this past weekend, where front row joe nemicheck qualified with no alternator belt on the car. and you'll see the same kind of things happen in richmond Saturday, as it's also an impound race
  • That's the way that it use to be,but some big names(big money) missed a few races and NASCAR had to kiss XXX to make sure thes "superstars(gag)" were in the race.
The fastest 43 race, drop the top 35 and provisionals and let the top 43 the fastest 43 race.
  • Sponsors and the almighty dollar.
  • You're right, that's the only reason. If they went on speed, there would be occasions where big name drivers would get left out.
  • Because Nascar is all about $$$$$$$$$$.

  • If you were a race car driver...?

    May be...

  • i would run the high not as much strainon the car, utill in traffic the id run where the other car werent so i could make the pass.
  • As long as I am in a good position, I am going to run high. When the other drivers start tiring after an hour or so, I will start to run low.
  • I'd run both but mainly high to get a better cut on the corners.
  • I like running the high line, but if I'm just as fast on the bottom, that's where I'm going to be.
  • fake it up high then take it back down low on turn four to win the race
  • Assuming your car is equally fat on the hign and low lines, what line ould you rather run. I'd run the high line all day.
  • What do you mean, "If"? I am. As far as the high or low line, I go where the car wants to run, or, wherever the bumps/holes aren't.
  • rim running for sure
  • Depends on which track..but I'd run the Jr Lane...right up against the wall, almost close enough to kiss. Lose time going in the turn, but make it up and more coming out. Keep the momentum coming out high...and make the pass out of turn 4 heading to the stripe!
  • If you run just one or the other, you'll never win a race. You have to manipulate the track and that would mean moving around coming in and going out of the corners.
  • Well im going to bet against all you high line people in a race. The high line maybe easy to run but its the longest way around the track and also eats the most fuel and rubber so you will have to make more pit stops. The guy on the bottom is not driving as far there for using less fuel and less rubber. Thought that was common sense but i guess not.
  • I'll take the high side. Mabe get a better run off the corner, and if I lost it, I don't have so far to go before I hit the wall. Mabe sustain less damage to the car.
  • Which track? I'm obviously going to take advantage of any line that my vehicle is going to best handle on. Weather constantly changes, so I know for a fact that I wont be running the same line all day. So assuming that the track conditions are constantly staying the same, and depending on what track it is, I'm going to be running on the inside when it comes to turns and I'm going to be running the outside line on the stretches.
  • as long as i ran up front it wouldn't matter to me!!
  • true you don't have to fight your car as much riding high... but the shortest way around is the low side!! i would use both depending on handling and the lap count!
  • i think the high line would be fun especially at places like daytona and talledega but the low line works good at short tracks and what not so depending if i was really a driwver i would prolly ride the high line
  • Who do I use in this weeks Richmond race fantasy wise??

    May be...

  • go with denny hamlin. He's got a winning race car but cant seem to get the win...hopefully this week will be his. look at bristol and talladega...bristol he was in first but had fuel problems on the backstretch on the last lap and 'dega he was 3rd because of a caution on the last lap
  • I usually check out Fantasy Forcast by Tregosteevo at http://fanzone.webng.com/fanzone4/news/

He puts out alot of info and stats on drivers and it helps with my picks for my race league. (Fantasy Challenge Race league)

Look for it and see if it helps, but remember to wait till qualifying is over! LOL
  • I would go with a Ford this week Matt Kenseth or Carl Edwards You know don't count Kasey Kahne out either
  • @ Richmond you always have to throw Jimmie's name in the hat. Dale Jr LOVES Richmond, always runs great (when his engine doesn't blow)..and his first win is coming...just a matter of time. Could be this weekend.

Denny is good on the flat tracks (like Richmond, Martinsville, Pocono).

It's not a "1.5 mile cookie cutter", so steer away from Roush Racing.
  • Dude, you have 43 drivers to pick. choose one
  • It depends on what type of league you are in. Denny, Jimmie and Kyle would all be at the top of my list. Kevin, Jr. and Smoke would be the next guys to consider. This is also David Ragan's best track and he is on a roll right now.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • Well, if you look at the cot stats. Johnson killed everyone last year. So I would go with Johnson, or mabe Boyer, Jr.
  • Im goin to Richmond, Va for the Nascar Race. Where can I get a camp site at?

    May be...

  • here is a link to state parks, national parks, national forests, koa camps, kid's favorites, and other camping links.just scroll down the page, and you will find these options.
  • Camping Richmond Va? I got a site last year, I can't rember the name of the campground. Anyone with a local phone book? I can't find it on the internet.
  • RV or tent camping? If you have an RV, there are some places near the track that turn into RV parks during the weekend, most notably Azalea Flea Market, which is within walking distance of the track, and the trams in parking lots J and H. People in the area also rent out their yards to people with RV;s. If you want to tent camp, then a campground is suggested. Laidbackracing.com has a list of some of the campgrounds local to Richmond. http://laidbackracing.com/Tracks/RIR.htm...
  • Where can I get video of Brook and Dunn that Dale Sr. sang with??

    May be...

  • for those you haven't seen it!!

  • youtube has it
  • I LOVE TO BUY!

    Quick quiz for motorsport fans?

    May be...

  • I forgot to mention, check additional details for the explanation. Report It
  • well if NASCAR fans know the question better then its not a F1 question !!!
  • The front car would stay at the same speed. While the trailing car, not having to be at full throttle to maintain the same speed, since the front car was breaking the air for it, will have a little more speed before the air resistance takes over. Hence the term "slingshot".
Pete Aron described it very well in the movie "Grand Prix".
  • In nascar with the old model if you would slingshot someone from behind you would take the wind off the front car's spoiler and cause him to get loose. But this year since the new cars have a bigger wing so if you were to do the same thing the car would not get loose because the wing catches the air which gives the car more control and won't make it loose. So I'm thinking since F1 cars have similiar wings to the ones used in nascar I think nothing would happen.
  • Both cars will slow down because that is how that draft works.
  • The car in front will initially sloww down to avoid a collision and to negociate the bend/turn and then excellerate again out of the turn to gain and maintain advantage.-I think!
    Thought provoking question-have a star.

EDIT: Would the car in front move to the left and then accellerate?
  • Perhaps the aceleration would be more about psychology? Report It
  • So, two F1 cars go down the straight nose to tail, at around 180mph the chasing car moves to the right coming out of the slipstream to overtake.
How will the car in front (the car not the driver) react?
NASCAR fans should know this better I suspect.
  • Nascar, can we respect eachothes drivers?

    May be...

  • Tony Stewart because he is the shiznit hahaha I think he is an overall genuine guy if he doesnt like you he will tell you lol
  • He's making a left turn! He's making a left turn! He's making a left turn! He's making a left turn! He's making a left turn! He's making a left turn! He's making a left turn!

No wonder why everyone loves this sport
  • Ok, now, name your favorite driver and why then you have to name something good about the favorite driver of the person above you.
  • driver of the #2 Blue Deuce Kurt Busch, I was a huge fan of Rusty and Kurt was a great replacement, has a good winning history & seems to be a great team mate as well. Kyle busch, what can I say about Rowdy, he's Kurts lil brother & like Kurt said one time in an interview, wait til you see my little brother, he's hot right now & looks like going to Gibbs was an excellent move for him, that outta show Hendricks
  • All hail Robert E. Lee?
  • Kyle petty, not a great racer but what he does of the track is awesome. Johnson, competitive and a good driver
  • My answer to Miller

Rusty was a great driver for Miller's, he is one of the nicest and most genuine driver you will ever meet, Kurt Busch is not doing in that car what Rusty could and did a lot of years...

If you ever meet Rusty Wallace, you would love him to death, my husband works for Millers, now for 24 yrs, and we have met all the drivers, but by far, Rusty was the funniest to talk to, laid back, cool guy.
  • I say lets respect everyone but Dale Jr who is a total fraud. Anyone who thinks I'm wrong didn't watch the race on Sunday.
  • Jimmie Johnson is my fav!! i like him from day one, he is an extremely awesome driver and have alot of respect for him. The person in front of me is also a Jimmie fan!! GO 48!!
  • Kurt Busch is my favorite. Winter Glory's favorite driver is my favorite drivers brother. Kyle can flat out drive the wheels off the car(truck) or whatever he is in and in my opinion after his career is over he will go down in the books as one of the best drivers ever to have raced in the great sport of Nascar!

That's not hard for me, I don't bash anyone's driver.
  • Kyle Petty...has a genuine passion for racing. Even when riding around in the back, he still has a fire inside to be out there on the track. And his off the track work speaks for itself.

MY driver: Dale Jr. The son of the legend. Seems like a great guy, down to earth, laidback, and likes to have a good time off the track, but can definitely focus on racing when its time. He respects his fans/sponsors also.

I went to an autograph signing here in WV last summer at Ona Speedway before they raced at Michigan the next day...and Jr's line was 4 times longer than anyone elses...I didn't make it to the table before time was up..and JR's people were trying to get him on the bus...but he STILL came over to the fence and signed for about 10 more minutes.

My prized possession? My autographed Bud #8 diecast that I got that day.
  • KYLE BUSCH

THE GUY DOESNT HAVE A DRIVER LISTED I WILL ANSWER THE FIRST ANSWER

TONY STEWERT NEVER AFRAID TO SHOW EMOTION
  • i am 100% a jimmie johnson fan. and a hendrick fan but i have respect for alot of drivers. of course i like dale i like casey mears, michael waltrip, kevin havick, matt kenseth, greg biffle, newman, denny hamlin, and reed sorenson. i find it easy to like more than i dislike.
  • Mark Martin, he's always a clean driver and respected by almost all.
Kyle Bush, he has alot of talent and is doing great so far this year.
  • Kyle Busch is my favorite, the post above me has Mark Martin, what could I possibly say bad about Mark?
    He's a legend..
  • How is F1 considered racing?

    May be...

  • Ok, just looking at the results of this past weekend's Spanish GP the winning margin was over 3 seconds and Malyasia was even worse over 19 seconds how lame is that? Spainish GP Kimi basically drove around from pole to finish with no real lead changes, how does this even compare to Talladega, with 52(that's right 52) lead changes between 20 drivers. Seriously how can watching 22 cars run around a track in a line. No wonder overtaking's such a thrilling thing in F1 since it's such a rarity. Oh yeah, what's with less than half the cars finishing a race, you'd think that a $20 million machine would be a little tougher than than a $250,000 NASCAR car. Come on F1 fans, tell me why and be a little more creative than it turns right as well as left, and redneck jokes.
technology and right turns DO NOT make for better racing.
  • i watch all racing, and i will say that as far as passing goes nascar and f1 are on equal & opposite ends of the spectrum, yes f1 is in bad shape as far as on track competition goes so little passing that when coultard who has 34 years in F1 (yes I'm exaggerating) cant get passed with out wrecking, i will say i would much rather see more racing for position and over taking, but i think some of the rule changes in the near future will help this,

so whats the opposite end? talladega's 52 leas changes means the first 49 meant absolutely squat, I'm watching a 3 hour race, and the first 2 and a half hours are basically qualifying for the last half hour, so we are watching for the crashes really,

so is one better than the other its up to your personal tastes
  • it just happened that the catalunya circuit is notorious like monaco wherein overtaking was next to impossible, you had branded a very exciting motor sport lame?... I too watch NASCAR and it just happened that the live race coverage here was always at the very early hour of the day but I can see why the gaps in NASCAR was that too minute coz of a lot of times the drivers get dizzy running in circles that they often bump other cars resulting in a carnage just like bump cars and resulting for numerous safety car or yellow flag periods and how could you have that too much of a gap if your little oval track is less than a mile?...

and I don't lurk either into the NASCAR section just to mock the NASCAR fans out there...
nor ask stupid questions for the benefit of sowing detestation between both camps...
just stay in your NASCAR world coz we don't intend to be there...
  • I'm with you, the thing I really hate about it though are how the drivers and fans are so arrogant and feel their sport is the best when the cars drive themselves and they still win by 3 seconds.
  • 52 lead changes... AND!?! doesn't mean its exciting... I watched the Talladega race and was thoroughly bored at the pack of cars trundling round bumper to bumper for an hour plus... overtaking does occur in F1... its just the Catalunya circuit is rubbish (which is the consensus of most F1 fans...)... it just takes a lot more skill in F1 because the quality of the drivers is so high!!

NASCAR cars only cost that much coz they're not as technologically advanced as F1 cars... and more than half the cars finished last time out... most of the retirements were due to collisions... something that happens every 5 minutes in NASCAR... its a very simple form of racing, which is why its so popular for Americans, not coz they're stupid... thats just the nature of how they like their entertainment... in Europe.. F1's traditional home, racing is viewed in a different way.. as a challenge of constructors as well as drivers, hence the massive technology in F1
  • Well, let's just start with the question first... how is it racing? Just to be sure, I went ahead and took out the dictionary to confirm: 1. a contest of speed, as in running, riding, driving, or sailing. I then reread and yes... I was right, there is nothing at all that requires lead changes ora certain margin of victory. You cite a pair of examples where the fastest driver won. So, you seem to clearly understand that it was a driving contest of speed, but yet you're still asking?

So just what is it that you're really asking... you seem to think a race requires overtaking? WRC is racing... yet there is almost never any overtaking unless someone suffers a mishap. Oh, and those cars are more expensive than a spec- Miata, I guess that WRC is thus dull and uninteresting and therefore someone should probably post a question as to how it could be considered racing?

Or what about NASCAR when compared to my just mentioned Spec Miata... I mean the cars cost 10-20 times more than a spec-Miata, the margins of victory are often greater, and the field sizes smaller... and they can't make it through a race most often without crashing! Yes, clearly, with all things considered, at the moment Spec Miata would appear to be the absolute top of motorsport! Well, at least unless we want to start comparing to soap box racers... I mean those are usually very close contests with lead changes going back and forth almost right to the finish. When you consider that, how could anyone ever want to watch anything else ever again!

Some people wonder how a serious baseball fan can enjoy watching a pitcher's duel, while the baseball fan, greatly enjoying the matchups within the game, finds it much MUCH better than a contest with homerun after homerun. Likewise, many race fans thrill for what it takes to make a pass work under the conditions in F1... if you don't fine, not everyone likes the same things. But really, do you really lack the comprehension to understand that other people see things differently and enjoy different aspects of racing?

F1 is THE PINNACLE of motorsport....as you septics say "Get over it or spin on it!!"

Get back to your CIRCLE of friends or read Paul S a few more times.

    Posted in the NASCAR section

I don't get the point of NASCAR?

    YOUR ANSWER WAS

"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, sorry so bored with this question after the first 800 times it's been asked(not kidding either)"
And you have the audacity to say "Come on F1 fans, tell me why and be a little MORE CREATIVE than it turns right as well as left, and redneck jokes".....and expect usto take you seriously - how lame!!

    .
  • You know nothing about Formula one nor can it be explained to you.
If you don't understand what F1 is then you should leave it well alone.
  • AMEN Brother!! If I wanted to watch follow the leader I would go to my kids school and watch them play follow the leader at the play ground. I'm not sure how they consider it racing or a sport.
  • It's definitely racing - boring as can be - but still a race. I'm with you on this one. I can't stand F1 racing. Glad Bernie Ecclestone packed up his boys and took them back out of the United States. I will stick to my NASCAR and Air Races (when televised) for excitement. I don't even watch F1 when I'm really desperate.....

....Hey, Clan M, you could also be told to go back to "Singles & Dating", but that would be RUDE, so we won't go there....
  • F1 is a competitive form of motorsports, just like any other kind of racing. There's too many forms of motorsports to list. Don't get lost in the shuffle.
  • I love formula 1 and in my opinion there is not another form of motor racing that can beat it. I have watched NASCAR but we don't get much coverage in the UK. Its usually stuck on late at night when most F1 fans are in bed. I also watch DTM, which like F1, I don't like to miss. My best friends brother races Mini's so we go to watch that too.

I realise you have written this question in retaliation and I also know that the trolls on this section will try to get my answer deleted. At the end of the day we like what we like, end of. If I lived in America I probably would be a big NASCAR fan too, but I don't, I live in the UK so its F1 for me.

I'm not going to crack any red neck jokes, but I can't resist saying this - F1 drivers race in the rain!!!
  • Nice Wedge, all that from a freakin Star Wars nerd! Get back to your Jar Jar dolls
  • Me too!
But atleast we don't bash them like they do Nascar! huh?
  • hey nascar fan go back and stay in the nascar section
  • 22 cars line up on the starting grid.
I take it you know what a grid is?
the lights go off and 22 cars accelerate off the starting grid.
they then race each other, turning both left and right corners.
first one past the chequered flag wins.
    Ergo a race.
  • One could ask the same question about Nascar where drivers basically bump into each other and hope for the best.
  • If it's so meaningless to you why are you wasting so much energy on it. me thinks you doth protest too much!

EDIT: I think you just don't understand it and resent it.b
  • About a week ago I posted "How can F1 fans say their drivers are the best in the world?" Caught a lot of hate for that one. I was even told that the facts I stated about F1 cars having electronic driving assists and NASCAR not having them are not facts as they can be disputed. I chose a best answer and commented "Ding ding ding. We have a winner. Obviosly you got the point." and soon after Yahoo deleted the question saying "not a question, not an answer." It seems you cannot ask a question just to make a point. I stay away from personal attacks and have even stayed away from the NASCAR forum because of the crap spewed by these F1 knotheads, but I'm gonna let one fly. I'll bet my question was deleted because some candy a** F1 "racing" fan reported me. That's why they are called "whine and cheese eaters." Notice the spelling of whine. It's not a typo. Another F1 fan was ignorant enough to try to prove that F1 is racing and NASCAR isn't by pointing out that no NASCAR drivers go to F1. Hello? I believe that proves my point. How many F1 drivers have won a NASCAR race? None, because in NASCAR you have to know how to drive a car, not a computer. I could go on and on but I have already sunk to the level of these morons more than I'm comfortable with. Why don't I delete it if I'm not comfortable with this type of sophomoric garbage? Cuz every once in a while it just feels good to act like a jackass. If anybody would like to engage me in a debate citing only the FACTS, I'm wide open. But ,then again, if you consider just the facts there is no debate. Is there? They should rename the series F4B. Formula for boredom. Sorry for the rant but I sure do feel better now. C ya at a REAL track. With REAL drivers. Thanks to Jason F. Your answer reminded me to get my tickets for the air races here in San Diego this weekend. Them boys is craaaaaazy!!!!!!!!

Where can I find NASCAR Sprint Cup replays?

    May be...

  • speed channel usually wednesday or thursday afternoon
  • Besides the replays on Speed Channel there are clips on Fox Sports of NASCAR races.
  • speed channel Ithink on thursday.
  • Ususally Thursday @ 12 on SPEED.
  • Busch and McMurray.?

    May be...

  • It looked too spontaneous to me to be planned. I think the 18 got tapped from behind, he said so in the post-race interviews. I don't think McMurray was expecting that. It seems to have all happened very, very quickly.
  • Talladega is not the place for such poor sportsmanship. McMurray had a great shot at the Top 10, but his temper got the best of him. NASCAR may yet fine McMurray for reckless driving in that incident. It sure looked that way to me and I like McMurray as a driver more than Kyle Busch.
  • I hate to break it to you, it wasn't Kyle that saved that car, it was that big wing on the back of the car. We've seen it all year long. Maybe it wasn't the smartest thing Jamie could have done, but it sure wasn't the driver that straightened the car.
  • I think the 42 actually tapped or got the 26 aero loose when he came back down, thus making it look like the 26 was retaliating against the 18. Another reason I didn't think it was intentional, he almost took himself out doing it.

    KBfan18
  • Maybe McMurray was telling Shrub that he's not going to take his (Shrub's) reckless driving. Kind of like saying "Here's a dose of your own medicine". It's darn time somebody put the boy (Busch) in the wall....Maybe then he would drive with a little more respect for the other 42 drivers out there....yeah, probably not.
  • I think that the frustration of bad race after bad race without any wins has gotten the best of Jamie Mac. I usually defend him but I saw things the same way that you did. And yes, Kyle Busch is awesome and I enjoy watching him race. He's always coming back from the end of the lead lap to lead laps and win - and I think that's pretty impressive.

Hopefully Jamie can chill out and return to the leader's pack again soon.
  • Yeah, I agree, that was a bone headed move by the 26. And i can tell ya the 18 agrees, as he exclaimed in a post race interview on Victory Lane on Speed. "I dont know what his (26) problem was or what he was thinking!". That being said, I dont think it was enough to warrant any discipline from NASCAR. Its just seems like the 26 is involved in far to many bone headed moves. Its to bad cuz Jamie is a likable guy off the track. Just not on it.
  • i was suprised that they didnt do anything too but it was probably because no one actually WRECKED

    i hate the stupid COT
  • Every driver out there has made a bone head move at one time or another. Fact of racing. If NASCAR handed out fines every time it happened that's all they would do and the reason for fines wouldn't have the impact it is suppose to. There was no wreck involved so there really was no damage done. Bush still went on to win the race. There are tempers that flair at every race. Heck at some track like Bristol, they are warned before the race about letting their tempers go. Retaliation has and always will be a part of racing. Sometimes even when a fine isn't handed out, if they see the need to they will call the drivers in and have a talk with them.
  • I saw what you saw. McMurray just drove down into Busch. Can't believe they didn't wreck. I do kinda wonder why Busch shot up the track the way he did, but he didn't hit anyone doing it. Maybe Roush will see what we're all seeing and do the right thing by sending McMurray packing.
  • I just think that Mc Murray got loose in the corner. Yes Busch doesn't always drive a smart race. Sometime he pushes to hard and puts himself in the wall and ends his chance at the win. Busch has a lot of growing up to do as of yet but is getting better at keeping temper in check. But I guess thing that gets me is that Busch might cause a issue but will not take responsibility for the incident.
  • You know NASCAR officials have spotters, cameras, computers and everything to get every angle of the track and drivers they see and hear things we don't and they make their judgment on their high tech equipment and what each official then assesses the situation. They know what they are doing and when they make a call it is for a good reason not just because someone got loose and their car got away from them.
  • that's what I saw, I cringed when it happened..
  • I like to know Why Nascar did nothing on Busch and McMurray , it was a good move on Kyle when he shot up the track with 18 laps to go and he dent hit Jamie Mc or any thing it was when McMurray came after Kyle and hit him and the two all most Crashed but as a good driver like Kyle he did let that happen , I don't know if any of you other fans seen it that way but that is how I seen it , and I believe Dale had seen it that way when he said well I don't know what that was all about when McMurray hit Kyle , ok let me know what your thought on that is ok ,

Will Junior win a Championship in his career?

    May be...

  • I think he will win 1 or 2, he is still young enough if he stays at Hms then yes he will win Championships.. I'd love to see him get hot and win 3 or 4, but with the competition as tough as it is today I think the days of 5+ championships are going to be hard to come by..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • It's possible. He's got at least 10-15 years to try unless he gets bored and quits.
  • Hell no.........JR NATION IS GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

heheheh looks like gordon mad at jr cause jr wont let him on top
  • Just something to think about here, Dale Sr won 6 of his 7 championships after the age of 35. Jr's 33 so there might be a chance.
  • He will. But I don't see him winning as many as his daddy did. But who knows, maybe he will be a multiple Champion. Than again, maybe he will be like Mark Martin. One of the greats to never win a Championship.
  • Barring anything bad happening to the kid he will surely win a championship before the end of his career.
  • sure he will
  • Yes, IF he doesn't spread himself too thin with his other ventures. I know his sister Kelly handles the financial side of things for him but between Jr. Motorsports, Whiskey River, his production company, and the speedway in Alabama, etc. he a lot of non racing ventures working. I would just hate for that to take away from his focus on racing which I don't think it has yet.
  • Without a doubt. He is a top ten finisher every week and now that he doesn't have the ownership stress to deal with I believe you will begin to see him become an even more evolved driver.
  • I would think so, eventually. At 3rd in the standings now he should have a decent chance this year if he maintains the consistency he's already shown.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • My guess is 1 or 2.

He's almost always running near the front,
he just needs everything to come together, for a coupla years.

You need a strong car/team, a good driver, and a LOT of luck to win in NASCAR
  • Yes and surpass his father.
  • No. Just living off his ole dead Daddy's name.
  • yes he will!
  • I can see Jr winning a championship. Martin Truex Jr that is
  • 88 IN 08
  • no one really knows but anything can happen and i sure hope he can..GO JR!
  • Sorry, i don't think so. I had big expectations for him after the start of the year, but it just looks like the same ol' junior. Just not great enough to win the whole kit n kaboodle.
  • Alright, was is it really, that is so bad about Jr.?

    May be...

  • I am not a fan or hater of Jr but their is too much media talk about him & for someone who hasn't won a race in 71 tries now. Jeff Gordon was in first place most of the 2007 season & Jimmie Johnson was going for back to back titles & Jr, the poster child of NASCAR is still getting more attention then Jeff & Jimmie. He gets more attention than any other driver in NASCAR & for someone who hasn't see victory lane or won a championship that's BS
  • BCBayliss you are correct, Junior was lookin kinda like his daddy yesterday. I give him credit on that one time it looked like he was a spinner for sure. that was a great save, but then he sealed the deal with that last lap pileup. Why aren't the Junior apologists admitting he drove reckless? Busch drove cleaner yesterday than Junior, and that's sayin' something!
  • Yes, bcbaylis, facts ARE facts, and you have yours WRONG! Jr was drafting / pushing Stewart when Stewart blew his right front tire and scraped the wall. Stewart IMMEDIATELY came over his radio and said "Make sure it gets back to Jr that he did NOTHING wrong! My tire was down." NOT Jr's fault. The second incident (lap 173) was when Tony and Labonte made it 4-wide later in the race and the 2nd lane closed up, Labonte made contact with Stewart sending Stewart into Jr's rear quarter-panel. Labonte then came up the track and made contact with Jr, which straightened Jr's sliding car out and saved a bigger wreck. Tony Stewart took full responsibility for that wreck during his post-race (not post-wreck) interviews. Once again I'm failing to see how that was even remotely Jr's fault. The only credit that I will even remotely give you is for the last lap melee which was part Jr's fault. Jr had a heck of a run going while drafting / pushing McMurray. Jr had managed to make up 15 spots (from 29th to 14th) in just over half a lap while dafting with McMurray part of that way before Jamie couldn't hang on any longer and lost it. Yes, Jr was pushing a bit hard on that one and contributed to the wreck. I don't know what kind of fuzzy math you use, but that makes ONE incident. Jr's driving was much better than that of Hamlin's, Montoya's, and Busch's, he just didn't have the finish to show for it.

Brother 'Smack, people are going to believe ONLY what they want to believe. For some reason people want to hate Jr, just like others hate Busch (pick one of the two - doesn't matter) or Hamlin or Johnson or Gordon or..... you get the picture. It's just their prerogative. Jr is having and incredible season so far this year and the detractors just WANT to see him fail, so they'll make any little excuse they can to rationalize their hate and disdain.
  • Ok, edwards and kensith are driving the same, either they do really good, or they do really bad, its just the way all of Rousch/Fenway has been doing this year. Jr to me is very overrated at times, but still he is due for a win. It has been two years. At this point it has started to get retarded. He joined Hendricks to win for Christ sakes, so get him a win. The team belongs to Gordon and Johnson, but Jr. needs to show up in front and take the win. If it wasn't for him dumb move that took out a lot of good drivers (Stewart) then he would have won on Sunday, but at this rate i see his next win sometime in the latter part of the season, maybe after Indy, because Talladega in the fall is his better race, same with the later pheonix he could do it, but it is still a slim chance for him to win at richmond next week.
  • R U kidding! Besides the Obvious, His driving out there at Talladegga was RECKLESS!
Everyone talks about Rowdy Busch, but Jr. caused More trouble yesterday than Montoya did!
I cant wait for someone to put his A** in the wall!!!
    GO # 9 Kasey Kahne

Report me if u want but fact r facts!
  • Junior's alright for a redneck.
  • Yes Jr.is having a great year but most people either love him or hate him ! I think he is a great driver and his wins will come soon enough.
  • There is nothing so "bad" about him.

He is just so friggin hyped all the time, then he does not deliver the win everyone thinks he's going to...

So he's in third with no wins this season. BIG FRIGGIN DEAL.

Where's Jeff Gordon, What, What???? 14th with no wins??????

Why aren't people giving him more grief than Dale Jr????

I mean he's got 4 Cup Championships, Shouldn't he be
    going for 5????

Matt Kenseth, past champion, 19th place, no wins.

Bill Elliot, past champion, 45th with no wins in sight (all right, I know he's semi-retired)

Wheeeewww, I'm feeling much better now.
  • I'm not Jr. fan, but I'm not a hater either. People dislike him because there is so much talk about him. Mainly due to his last name, but that's ok. Got to talk about someone, and I'd rather hear Jr. than that big eared freak in the 18 car.
  • Great question Smack, The haters will hate him even more once he does start winning, heck then they will blame him for winning, it too to long, why hasn't he won more, when is he going to win as many as his dad.. You know I think it would be wild to see him win the championship based on consistency, he is finishing people come on. Last year was rough for Jr Nation... I'm not worried about him winning he will win races..Dale Jr is a great guy and a great driver. Yeah the only driver in the top 5 without a win, theres nothing wrong with that I'm sure theres a lot of drivers would love to have that stat.. You know Smack, I find nothing wrong with Dale Jr at all..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Nothing. Even if he had won yesterday today's forum would have looked something like this:

"If it wasn't for (insert name) Junior never would have won"
"If it wasn't for that caution on lap 2 Junior never would have won"
"If if wasn't for the wind blowing Junior around the track he never would have won"
"If Senior hadn't reached down from Heaven and pushed Junior over the start/finish line, he never would have won"

See where I am going with this? The haters will keep on hating no matter what Junior does win or loose he will continue to be bashed. He is in 3rd place for a reason....it's called talent and teamwork. Jealousy isn't pretty kids.

    PROUD MEMBER OF JUNIOR NATION!!!!!
  • there is nothing really bad about dale jr at all and the reason why he is getting a bad rep is people preceive that way i like dale jr myself.another reason he is getting a bad rep is maybe there is just to much pressure on him that is my guess.
  • Hey Smack, a lot of non fans want him to fail miserably. They will discredit anything and everything he does and he will never earn their respect, I'm guessing. If and when he wins a championship you will here "but it took him TOO long to win one" or "he ONLY has one". No matter what, they will never admit that he's a good driver. There is nothing bad about him other than sometimes his fans have too high of expectations and he has and always will be compared to his father. I don't remember people slamming Matt Kenseth near as much when he won the championship in 2003, even though he only won 1 race that year. Don't let it bring you down, he will win this year. It was too bad the HMS teammates couldn't have worked together a little more yesterday but that race was crazy towards the end!
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • there is nothing wrong with jr!!
  • mostly his fans..

(not all of them, just most of them)
  • can't think of a thing...except all the media hype and that's not his fault
  • I think racing is all about who WINS. Not who finishes 3rd every week. My definition of a CHAMPION is the one who wins the most races!
  • Nothing personally Bad about Him--My Beef is with the Media Hype--He gets way to much Coverage for his On Track Performance!!!!!
  • Some people think he's just a fan favorite because of his last name and that he isn't in the same league with his famous father. I personally find Junior to be a very honest and humble young man who is more than capable and very earnest in his desire to be a top notch driver. I'm even sure at times he wishes his last name was something like Jones instead of Earnhardt. He will never be his father nor does he desire to. But he is a nice young man and dedicated to getting better and doing better.
And did you hear the crowd when he went into the lead yesterday? I saw the replay and it was amazing!
  • I think what Steevo and Steffy said is SO TRUE. I couldn't have said it better.
  • Well, i used to like seing jr do good even though i wasnt a fan of him, but now i find him somehow annoying. Yea, go ahead and click the thumbs down, but i cant help it. I dont know if it is because my HATRED of hms(again, go ahead, click it) or what....
  • The guy is 3rd in points. Has 0 wins. He is the only guy in the top 5 in points without a win. But Carl Edwards with 3 (technically 2) wins sits 10th in points. Why is Jr getting a bad rep? Shouldn't Carl be like 2nd or 3rd? Come on guys, Let me know what is really so bad about Dale Jr!!
  • I don't think there is anything bad about Jr. However, it seems like there are some people out there who really dislike him. I really don't know why. He isn't my favorite driver, but he has a great record so far this year.
  • I could not agree with you more.
See this post from me, that is almost exactly like your question.
    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
I do not understand why everyone is so against Jr. either!
I have so much both 8 and 88, stuff I almost can not collect any more.
I truly believe that he will win at Richmond, then I am going to write to all Jr. critics to take their stinky shoes, out of their mouths, and a**es.
  • my stand point is he is have a good year so far, wins will come!
edwards only finishes in the top 10 when he wins if he dont have a good car he sucks so he sits in 10th.
  • Does'nt jr.ever thank sponsers ?

    May be...

  • As much I am not a Jr fan, he does thank his sponsors.
I always hear him especially thanking Amp and National Guard, which are his 2 main sponsors.
If they smaller sponsor are not paying him to give the extra verbal recognition, then he doesnt have to thank them.
  • He always thank his sponsors and his team do you have a mental block?
  • One thing is for sure, I sure always here him say Thank You to all his fans! Good or bad race, he will include his fans. I like team 48 to pieces, but Jimmie doesn't always thank his fans. I could care less if any of the guys thank their sponsors. That's between THEM, but without us fans, there wouldn't be a need for NASCAR.
  • Yes you are right he doesn't always thank them all ,maybe Superdave is right and he can't remember them all !
  • AMP is his main sponsor along with his manufacturer, etc.

If they are not paying him to say thanks, he won't.
  • He does but i think Jr Has a hard time in interviews, he seems to fumble over his words sometimes, He is too honest and the media is just out there to screw you and get you to say things that they want to hear. I feel that the reason why is because he is soo nervous, and anywhys they alll over do it with takin a sip before every interview and takin 2 mins just to say there sponsers it gets old anyways but i dont think thats why he doenst do it i just think its the nerves.
  • Your right. I think I only heard him thank National gaurd a couple times.
  • He does thank them. Normally he waits till the end of the interview. He always mentions AMP/National Guard and he always thanks his team too.
  • I hadn't noticed, so maybe he doesn't. I'll pay attention next race.
  • I like Jr but he's not all that bright.
  • he allways thanks them
  • He doesn't act like a puppet like some drivers. If you've heard some of their interviews(other drivers) you can just about recite it word for word. He does need to thank them more, they are paying him bunches of money. Another thing might be he has so many sponsors he cant remember them all. I would have to carry a list with me because I would forget someone I'm sure.
  • I'm a fan , but it just seem's like 1 out of 10 interviews that he says thank AMP !
  • I don't think you are a fan. He does thank them just not every single one on his car.

If you want to hear someone thank everybody he has ever met become a Michael Waltrip fan. He is a walking commercial who rarely finds time to actually answer the question or comment on why he is being interviewed.
  • Thank goodness if that is the truth. Constant sponsor plugs have gotten old.
  • Will Brian Vickers win a race this year?

    May be...

  • On shear speed and car he I doubt he will ever win. However, on a fuel mileage gamble or being in the right place at the right time on a restrictor plate track, he has a pretty good chance to win.
  • brian vickers blows and will never win a race...
  • He holds himself pretty steady. I know from the Fantasy stand point he is the most consistent and highest ranking "C" list driver. He has 2 top 10's and 1 top 5. I think he has a pretty good shot of winning a race.
  • NO
  • Nope
  • I don't think he could win 1 this year, but it would be good if he did. Its a plesant surprise how well Team Red Bull & all of the Toyota teams (sans JGR (only cause they weren't with Toyota last season)) are doing.

Well at least Brian is doing a heck of a job this season. AJ he'll improve.
  • Yesterday Vickers was doing pretty good at Talladega. I recently changed my fav. driver from Reed Sorenson to Brian Vickers b/c Sorenson has been doing bad ever since I started rooting for him. I was just wondering if there are any Vickers fans out there and if anybody thinks he will win a race this year?
  • not a fan but sure he will win atleast one.
  • Vickers will never win another race. Unless he is running 3rd on the last lap and wrecks his teammate in 2nd and the leader.
  • maybe not this year, but i am sure he will win at least one in his career
  • No, I think he is a flop...sorry but that is just the way it is...he won't win another race because I think he was rushed along too soon. Ricky Hendrick wanted to get him to Cup after winning the Busch Series title at 20, the youngest to do so...I think that a couple of years in Busch(now nationwide) should have served him better. No I don't think he will win another.
  • Reed is an ok driver but needs to be a little more consistent. Give him some more time, not my top 5 but like him. Vickers, not sure if he will get a win this year but anything can happen. I know he won't make the chase as people predict he will.
  • What are the Nascar speed records. Sorry about the bad english.?

    May be...

  • I wan't to know first the highest speed a Nascar Truck can get. And the "common" Narcars can do too.

    Thanks for the comprehension.
  • Bill Elliot ran 210 at Daytona and 212 at Talladaga in 1985. Record will likely stand forever.
  • The highest closed circuit speed for a NASCAR was a Rusty Wallace test lap without the restricter plate at Talladega Speed way he had a lap average of 216 mph. Bill Elliot holds the official record at 212 (also at Talladega) for an actual qualifying lap.
Currently Atlanta Motor speedway is the fastest track (no restricter plate used), at nearly 195 average. Top speed on this track is over 200. The COT being slightly slower than the older cars (track record is 197 mph)

The trucks are slower.. Qualifying speeds at Atlanta are in the mid 170's

For reference. The current closed course speed record is held by Gil de Ferran in a CART spec indy car at an AVERAGE of 241 mph.. hitting straightway speeds in excess of 250. This was in 2000.
  • Doug, Texas is the fastest track. Atlanta is 2nd.
    1. Texas Motor Speedway - 196.235 MPH
Texas Motor Speedway was repaved during the 2006 season providing an entirely different racing surface for the drivers when they returned during The Chase for the Cup. Brian Vickers took advantage of the smooth surface and posted a 196.235 MPH lap to take the pole. This vaulted Texas into first place as the fastest race track on the modern NEXTEL Cup schedule.
    2. Atlanta Motor Speedway - 194.690 MPH
Until 2006 Atlanta Motor Speedway had held the title of NASCAR's fastest speedway since it was reconfigured during the 1997 season. However it must now settle for second on the list since the quickest qualifying lap posted here since 2000 is Ryan Newman's 194.690 MPH lap. Newman has held this track record since 2005.
  • Tony Stewart's Future With Gibbs?

    May be...

  • Will he be with gibbs next year?
If not who will he be with next year?
  • tony is under contract until the end of 2009
  • yes he will be with gibbs
  • He'll stay with JGR but Wild Thing is now their top driver.
  • He will be with gibbs until '09 season end, then i think he will stay with gibbs if an ownership program is set. if not who knows
  • RCR

    wants back in a Chevy
  • tony with gibbs to 09 and i think he will go with hendricks, or childress, nut in the end i think he will stay with ginns
  • No he won't be at Gibbs. Maybe he goes to RCR. But who knows at this point.
  • who cares, let him go!!!! they have the most promising talent in nascar!!! Kyle busch!!! and they have Denny hamlin...Yes Smoke has two cup championships, but that doesn't mean his crap doesn't stink.. he isn't as good as he thinks he is, plus he is going to want WAY more money than he is worth!!

    Nascar question?

    May be...

  • no..if there that dumb they shouldnt be driving a nascar..
  • Do you think any drivers in Nascar use GPS systems while driving ? Hey look, another left turn. I wonder what way I'm turning next ?
  • only in their motorhomes or rental cars....
  • No, but I bet YOU have one so you can get to the corner store!

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • i don't think so but it would be funny if they did
  • this is not a funny question... even if you were trying to... but no they don't use GPS and watch a race it isn't just left turns
  • No, they don't. But someone called Mr. Loser would probably need one. lol
  • All the cars are equipped with GPS, but for other reasons.
  • Will #88 Dale Jr?

    May be...

  • I love Jr and he is going to win today. I do not care how many races it has been since his last points win, I will always be cheering for him and hoping for a win.

I also think the game would be required to use his current car and number because the 8 car is no longer his. Only makes sense that way.

Go Jr!!!!!!! Let's see a win at Talladega. 88 in '08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • he can win if he works with smokey
  • I want to see Jr, Smoke and Burton drag race for the lead the last lap.

3 good hard racers, that respect each other.
  • welll loo at him go ellready n 3rd! go jr 88 gona win!
  • No, Dale will not win today.

    71 for #88
  • 1st he will do well maybe a win and 2nd i beleive it is
  • I sure hope so....He needs to get this monkey off his back, so he doesn't have to answer the same question every weekend.

    Go Dale Jr win 'dega
  • hopefully, i think everyone would be extremely excited to see him win again
  • I'm not sure on the game, but my guess would be yes. As for winning, I could see him finishing pretty well. We'll have to see. It'll come down to whose teammates are there in the end.
  • Top 15.
  • Is he going to win? Probably.

I think 'Dega is his BEST chance at winning.

Honestly though, no one 'knows.' Anything can happen.
  • To many variables to say.....I sure as hell hope so!! It is his 300th start w/ a 70 race losing streak...And his Daddy's birthday is this week (Tuesday April 29)......Seems like a great day for him to win!!

    Go Driver #88
  • Yes, Jr will win!!! Any you might want to check this website!!!
  • no jr will not win today he will be lucky to finish to 10
i see him in the big one with jeffy

the real jr will win martin truex jr
  • Will #88 Dale Jr Win Today i hope he does oh does any 1 know if his new cars will be in the nascar 2009 game

    Plz No dumb Answers
  • if he was still with dei id sya no his engine will blow but since hes got a good engine I think he will finish top 10 unless he crashes
  • no he won't
  • I'd love to see him win. he could have won last night in the nationwide series but nobody would go with him...but today at least he has teammates :)
  • I really hope he wins. He has led 12 times so far. It's not over yet.......

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • With Franchitti's injury but Tony Stewart's win...?

    May be...

  • Yes and No. I like it because Tony has won 3 races this year and I love to see him win. No because a couple years ago he got hurt in a Nationwide car and had to miss a Sprint Cup race!
  • I enjoy watching my favs, as often as they wanna run,

    But it can be dangerous,
I remember when Bobby Labonte broke his collar in a Busch race a few years ago, and had to drive thru the pain for a couple months.
  • Do you like when your favorite driver runs in the Nationwide Series or any other series for that matter?
  • I think the Nationwide drivers should have a better chance to win races without the Sprint Cup guys interfering so much and agree that the number of races that they are participating in Nationwide needs to be limited. I do however still get stoked when somebody I like wins no matter what series it is in.
  • i think they should be limited to only 20 or so starts allowed per season if they are full time cup drivers
  • Yeah I like it. Besides just loving to race I'm sure alot of the cup drivers do it for their sponsors. Kurt doesn't run that many Nationwide races so I dont have to worry about that much. Penske has let Sam Hornish Jr run the Nationwide races now to get experience.
  • Spanish Grand Prix - Your Views And Opinion please?

    May be...

  • kimi's haircut rules!!!
  • Here's one to ague about Safety car out car out of fuel pit lane closed driver peanalised with drive through is it not now time to sort this pit lane closure rule once and for all
  • well it was an eventful race.

    1. poor vettel out again !!!
    2. Heikki's fast crash ! (gave the thumbs up tho =)
    3. Alonso's engine :(
    4. Rubens front wing was very strange indeed!
    5. Mark Webber And Jenson doing brill =)
    6. KIMI WINNING WOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!

and rest you can pick =)
  • 1st thing - Ferrari not as quick as they thought... Lewis and Robert kept them very honest throughout the race. I still think Lewis could've had more of a go at Massa, but perhaps he was pushing hard enough as it was... he was 9 km/h faster in Campsa than anyone else!!!! thats big...

    2. BMW (in Kubica at least..) had very good race pace, not as quick as Lewis and the Ferraris but there 'for sure'....

    3. Alonso's engine... these things happen, but his pace wasn't too bad when he was running, just a bit slower than the BMW's which is what Flavio said they would be... his hyperbole paid off for once lol

    4. Heikki's crash... I'm not saying its a McLaren design fault or the wheel companies'... but it was very similar to Lewis' accident at the Nurburgring... but then this time it could be down to those covers... if it is a stone like Ron said, then it could've got trapped in the space between the cover and the wheel, and that could tear the wheel apart...

Good on him for giving the thumbs-up though... He's a very nice man who understood that we were all worried about him, and as soon as we could see he was ok we could get on with racing..

    5. Rubens front wing... I think it was broken by a stray airgun left out by another team... if I was Honda I'd be looking into how it happened, because there could be trouble for that team if they left a gun out for Rubens to hit
  • As usual with Spanish GP, it was very dull and save for a few random moments (Rubens' front wing anyone?!) wont go in the record books of fantastic races. Even the commentators sounded bored silly. Not a good start for the 'European Season'.
Lewis made a good start, as did Alonso but the Ferrari's looked very comfortable and weren't exactly pushed to their limit.

I can only hope Turkey won't turn out to be another turkey (poor pun, i'm sorry. . .)
  • So many DNFs. Poor Alonso, he was doing really well and his engine gave way. And unfortunately for Vettel and Sutil, it was not a weekend to remember. ANd poor Heikki, going into the tyre barriers. At least he could still give us a thumbs up to show that he is OK.

And Kimi took the win to lead the championship. Ferrari is also leading the constructor's now.
  • Not my favourite so far this season.
I'm sorry that Alonso couldn't have made as much with his low fuel stategy as Webber managed but I guess his car had other problems. Hamilton put in a great drive, well done to him.
The high was definetly Kimi winning and the low was Heikki's accident. I hope he is fine.
  • best race of the year so far
  • Kimi looks fat with no hair! lol.

Lots of action from the back but the front of the grid was pretty boring.

Glad that Heikki is ok, too bad Alonso blew his engine, he was having a good race. That little incident with DC was not surprising and I'm glad the stewards are taking the time to investigate it because although it did not seem like his fault, his pace had dropped and the toyota was catching up.

    Kimi is FAT!!!!
  • What was with Trulli third pitstop where they did nothing. Nothing! Radio communications problem, apparently - - he came in by mistake and cost himself 2 places. Bizarre.

"Fat Boy Kim" needs to lose 6kg like Kubica did. But a good drive - - same for Flippy and Lewis. Well done Webber.
  • Uppers,
Webber is finally having a solid season.
Button as always, brilliant in a hectic race.
Fisichella has got some fight back!

    Downers,
    Alonso's retirement, was driving great.
Davidson's bad luck continues at an unabated pace.
Rosberg's engine going bang when he had climbed from 15TH to 7TH.
  • Kimi lookes like he was out on bail ! lol
  • I thought at first that Heikki had been badly hurt going by the replay of the accident, lucikly he's just taken a smack on the head, other than that Lewis was faster than the Mclaren and Ferrari walked it really.
  • Bet you like cricket as well, another exciting sport ???
  • Mclaren kept up the pace and had more fuel in for Qually
Shame they could have ran on the harder tyres on two sessions rather than one...may have made a difference ?

Ferrari are the team to beat... must be a good car to get chunky Kimi around .... too many Pizzas ?

Wish I had seen Rubens incident ? maybe he thought he could go faster without the new wing mod ?

Alonso.... was racey but power pack let him down, it was on its second sitting

Williams.... Toyota engines had problems too

Webber had a good run.... no reliabilty issues

Jenson just picked up the pieces from the DNF

Shame the new rookies are getting a hard time at the back of the grid

Sato.... no comment just a cash cow for the team
  • Glad Heikki seems to be okay....strange looking incident in my opinion as it looked exactly the same as the failure Lewis had last year at the Nurburgring.
Other than the usual shunts and bumps I thought it was an awful race.
It was good to see that Mclaren and BMW have a similar race pace to Ferrari which could prove eventful at later races. Great to see Jenson in the points. Bad luck for Heidfeld. That pit lane/safety car scenario really needs to be looked at. It's dreadfully unfair to punish someone if they're about to run out of fuel.
I'm struggling to find anything positive to say to be honest, it was just plain boring.
  • kimi was wonderful, ferrari set up was great.
  • well it was defo a heart stopping race due to Heikki's off. my heart was going 10 to the dozen! I'm so glad he is ok and will be racing in Turkey.

Poor Vettel, I really don't think that was his fault. it seemed to me that Sutil hit DC then spun off leaving Sebastian nowhere to go.

Piquet was off the track more than once! With the improvements Renault have made I expected him to be at least in the top ten finishers.

I felt so so so sorry for little Anthony Davidson. It seems like stones were a problem for more than one car today!

I also felt sorry for Nick Heidfeld having to have that penalty. I really think that rule should be reviewed. Its too harsh a penalty to pay for something that is out of your control.

DC and Glock, well, as I asked, Is DC's car magnetic or what.

Kimi drove a faultless race and once again the pole sitter has won the race. Perhaps he and Schumie should teach Felipe how to park his car properly lol. either that or make the equipment lighter, his poor mechanics nearly always have to move it!!!
  • .

    Glad Heikki's good to race.

Well done to Massa at the start, excellent reactions and Hamilton for a hard a fair opening gambit again (slag me down but apart from Bahrain i feel he's one of the best starters on the grid - hope i don't jinx him by saying that)

    Another fine drive by Raikkonen.

Swop Schhh for Coulthard and everyone would be praising his driving (on this occasion)

Odd rule the pit lane/safety rule. Maybe they should inform the FIA of an impending pit stop and then be allowed to enter??

Not sure on this 2 race engine rule either and haven't been for a few races. It seems to me it may discourage racing at max revs if only for 2 points....turn the revs down and save the engine for next race and get10??

  • I am watching the live timing and scoring too! That would be awesome if he could get his 1st win! He's in 10th, but he could defiantly work his way up to the front in the race tomorrow.
  • suppppper cool
  • Right now in practice, Vitor Meira is only .18 seconds slower than the time of Dan Wheldon...What if Vitor gets his first win Tomorrow?....Wouldn't that be kind of exciting to IRL fans??
It would be fine with me.
BTW Danica is only .027 seconds slower than Vitor and she is 4th fastest in practice...Wheldon and Dixon are 1-2 with Vitor and Danica close behind.....qualifying is this afternoon!!!
  • I don't see Vitor winning anytime soon. There are just too many better cars and drivers than him.

I'm hoping Scheckter in the Luzco Dragon team can win - he's is looking good in 6th considering that this is the first time in a car since Chicagoland last year.

I will be willing to eat my words if Vitor wins, however...
  • McLaren why didn't you keep Fernando...?!?

    May be...

  • Fred has said he always wanted to drive for them and McLaren clearly recognized that Fred's a great driver. But Fred's fragile ego could not handle the "what have you done for me lately" attitude at McLaren - it is very business-like there where Renault is more homely, what with Papa Flav and his favourite son etc.

Like some marriages, even with the best intentions, some things just don't work out.
  • Why is probably very complicated alongside all the acusations, and bad blood between him and his team mate. Althought I am a McLaren supporter I think Renualt suits him better.
Hamilton to McLaren is almost like family because they have been nurturing him for so long. But undoubtedly Alonso is a formidable driver and I think all things considered it's McLaren's loss. Bit sad really for all concerned.
I can see Alonso with Honda next year.
  • *sigh* I know exactly how you feel. to say I was gutted when that partnership didn't work out would be in understatement
  • .

Because they'd be on pole with a thimble of gas in the tank??

EDIT: Actually Val I agree with you - if it had worked out we could have looked forward to some excellent racing and maybe better development at Mac's...

    .
  • They could have at least signed a more mature driver to partner with Lewis for tracks like this.
  • ...because they love Lewis more than Fernando.
  • .... because we think you are causing too much trouble fighting with Hamilton. Besides, you can't stand him and the team, so you want to leave.

After all that happened last year, the team felt really betrayed that Alonso reported them to the FIA after blackmailing Ron. It got so tense that you could feel it in the team's atmosphere. The mechanics couldn't even look him in the face.

Plus, the rivalry between him and Hamilton reached unhealthy levels. This has been denied recently but i wonder if it's true and if people actually believe it. Too much competition will not help the team as the driver could just be focusing on how to beat his team mate instead of also giving feedback to help improve the car, helping to improve the team;s performance
  • They were so in love with Hamilton they couldn't see reallity....
Bad for them, they'll open their eyes this year and see they bet on the wrong horse...
