I think the top Chevy teams won't make a change, but some of the smaller, struggling teams may be tempted by another manufacturer to switch. Toyota might see an additional team or two switching over. If all of the manufacturers cut back, then no there won't be much change. Maybe for the underfunded teams but i wouldn't do it as Chevy has dominated for the last 2 decades. I think most Chevy teams will try to find someone to buy their engines and chassis from in the Cup series. I think JR Motorsports will move their Nationwide team to the Cup series and of course get their engines and chassis from HMS. It's probably going to become too expensive for teams to develop COT type cars for the Nationwide tams without support. My pick this week is Tony Stewart! Come on Jeff is a great driver. Brad Keselowski, Tony Sterwart and Matt Kenseth have all come from the rear this yr and won races. If Jeff's car is right on Sunday, yes he has a change and he can do it. I didn;t pick him in my fantasy I picked Edwards and Kenseth, but I do think Jeff can do it, and I'd be happy. I think you put the word God in your question, Y/A has some strange ways when they suggest what category questions need to go.. We have 4 Jeff Gordon fans in my Nascar group, they are not down about Jeff's Engine, they are all doing their little positive vib's for Jeff.
Go Dale Jr & Hms I think the #24 team will be fine Sunday. They still have 2 practices tomorrow (hopefully no rain) and the whole race Sunday to get the car running right. The #24 team will probably use pit strategy to get to the front and work on the car from there. It's been proven this year that it is possible to come from the back of the pack and win so I think Sunday will be a good day for the #24 team. NO!

STEWART HAAS RACING ROCKS! JEFF WONT CHANGE HIS CHASSIS JUST BECAUSE HE BLEW AN ENGINGE. I DON'T THINK JEFF WILL WIN THIS WEEKEND BECAUSE WHAT HE IS DESCRIBING IN PRACTICE(REGARDLESS OF THE ENGINE BLOWING) THE CAR WASN'T CARRYING A LOT OF SPEED SO I THINK HE WILL BE BETWEEN 10TH AND 12 TH. Yeah, that's too bad. But as long as the car is fast, I think Jeff is capable of winning on Sunday and I hope he does. I'm sure the Roush cars will be tough, though. I also think Brian Vickers will run strong; he ran very well there last year and won today's pole. But I'm definitely cheering for Gordon, and I think he can get a top five finish. I suppose everything is possible... As long as his back up car is just as good as Cali or Texas, I think he'll be fine. The best drivers always find their way to the front, no matter how long it takes. This is typically a Roush track, but anything can happen in this sport, so we'll see what happens. I, personally, would like to see Mark Martin get win #5 at this track, but what good sports fan wouldn't hope for their favorite to win. I like the way that you think ! They will get everything together and I hope to see him in victory lane.

2 years When he files for bankruptcy and sells his cars to foreign race teams. If Robby gets a reasonable sponsor I see him winning races again. Which would be nice, as he was never afraid to kick Junior's behind. Robby Gordon is running on a true single-car team. He doesn't have teammates to get information from and doesn't get help from other teams like Marcos Ambrose gets help from MWR. I say as long as Robby can make the race, he can stay in NASCAR as long as he wants. Robby Gordon should do good at Infineon about a week from now. He is usually a threat to win on the road courses.
I don't get why you and Storm can't stop this feud between you two and make peace. It doesn't seem like either of you are benefiting from all this fighting. I didn't realise he was competitive now. I mean, yeah, he gets in the race. But that's it. As long as he can keep qualifying, he will remain a fixture, though. Kind of a permanent back-marker if you will. I like Robby and I hope he stays competitive enough to keep trying. You gotta give him an "A" for effort when it comes to running his own team with limited resources. I think we will see Robby in NASCAR for a long long time to come. For a one man show I think he is doing pretty damn good, he makes the races each and every week. I hope he hangs in there a little while yet. I think it was something to do with him saying that he was moving to avoid the media hanging around him all the time, when everybody knew it was just to avoid paying tax. He's being slated for being disingenuous, not for living in Switzerland.

There are those who claim he moved for the money, but honestly the paparazzi showed up and forced him out before he got any of the big money. Jenson Button and David Coulthard live in Monaco? A lot of people just don't like him and pick apart everything he does. It annoys me that it's never mentioned about Jenson Button and many other drivers living in Monaco but Hamilton gets constantly slated. Michael Schumacher also lives in Switzerland and probably maybe a couple of other drivers. He said he was moving to Switzerland because he could no longer live in the Uk due to media and fan interest in him ruining his privacy. When asked if was to avoid paying tax he replied "No"

Brad Keselowski - Kid has a future I would go with Steven Wallace. My car would be bought off of Hendrick motorsports, we'd run the #4 iMac chevy. My driver would be Matt Crafton. Regan Smith Brad Keselowski is the only real choice.. There is some real talent coming up, but they all need more experience.. Jeremy Mayfield, of course! (Does he count??) If not, Justin Allgaier or Kenny Wallace. If I had the money for a full time team I would help Carl Long fight NASCAR to reverse their strange and cruel fines and suspension and hire him cause the guy has the passion! He takes his worn out equipment and works his butt off with it in attempt to make a race. I am a "hardcore" NASCAR fan and of Tony Stewart. I am going to another Tony Stewart autograph session soon and I need something interesting that would be an "eye grabber" and a "center of attention" when put on display. Try to get the Russian model from the commercial. She's a real "eye grabber". LOL
Actually, try to get #20 & #14 diecasts signed, and display them side-by-side or in the same display case. Kyle busch could smash your autographed stuff and buy 2 more An Old Spice.antiperspirant dispenser. Find one of his old die-cast INDY CARS, or an old INDYCAR poster with him on it. Everybody thinks of Tony as the NASCAR Champ. But he is also a past INDYCAR champ, I have his rookie season INDYCAR poster autographed when he was first getting started, I've have many people offer to buy it off me. I would think something like that especially if you could find a die-cast would be a real eye grabber. i'm still having difficulty with this whole concept of being disrespectful to an inanimate object thing. however, as i've said before, i do think his actions were in poor taste and rather bizarre. while it may have been to show a different side of his personality, it reinforces the notion for me that while he can certainly drive and i WOULD hire him to do just that....he's pretty much a dick when he takes off the helmet. Yes, it was disrespectful. Kyle really should have talked to Sam Bass about it before he went through with smashing the guitar. That's the problem I had with it. Something could have been worked out where Kyle was given a different guitar to smash. Even though that guitar was Kyle Busch's and he had the right to do whatever he wanted with it, it should have been treated more like a trophy or special gift and those kinds of things carry a special meaning to the people that give them to you too. Personnaly I would like to smash a guitar over his face. He is a disgrace to the sport and I can't stand that little weasle. You know, Sam Bass said he was heart broken. I wonder what Busch would say to that...... I just think its typical Kyle Busch. Acting before thinking. How lame was the excuse that Kyle "wanted to give the pieces to his crew" ha this guy never stops! "Disrespect" is kyles middle name. Okay, I guess Sam Bass could see it as disrespectful. Therefore, it must be a good thing, becasue it's all anyone can talk about. More attention for Kyle. Kyle Bush is a whining baby. He does anything for attention and smashing the guitar is giving him more media press. I personally think it was a childish thing to do The odd thing to me is this:

I personally being a Kyle Busch fan thought at the time he was on the radio and said "everyone's going to get a piece of guitar"....what's he talking about? It never registered. Then he smashed it and I felt shock and nausea. More than anything else it was because he destroyed something so beautiful and then knowing these questions would be never ending. I was right about both.
To me it boils down to his lack of maturity and self control. This coming from a big fan. I am disappointed in what he done, but he is still the most talented driver in nascar. Like I said before, he needs to shut up and drive. Time will make him a better ambassador of the sport...Lord I hope so.

They were the same camera shots, but on Race Buddy you could choose the one you wanted to watch, or watch four at a time.. Plus they had lap times, and the other stuff.. It's a talent learned at a young age by starting out with go-karts and coming up through the ranks. It can take years to know the "feel" of a car and how it will behave under certain circumstances. This is why some races are won by just tenths of a second. It is the talent on how to squeeze a little more speed and time out of the car. YES!!! It also need a good car. As the sport has evolved, the drivers are far more athletic than used to be the case.
Agility, the best of reflexes and excellent physical shape are among the requirements. i gotta say that this is a peculiar question, like most things you do need talent, or else you might find yourself at the back of the race.
Don't forget though that talent isn't something your born with, it's something you get. I think that it can be something learned, but you have to be very dedicated to it. yes Being a NASCAR driver takes talent, dedication, and discipline.
GO 24!!!! You need talent. But, like anything else, you have to put the time in to learn the craft. Talent or skill is definitely a factor. How else to explain how a driver can maneuver his way through a big pile-up? Because you can't practice avoiding crashes. A lot of their ability is because of simply working hard and practicing. However, if you have no natural talent for it, you will never be one of the top guys. Yes it takes talent.

he wins on luck... As much as I hate to say it, it does look as if not even a champion has job security in this economy. I don't think someone should just let him take over their car, or truck, but I think if somebody wanted to step in and start their on team, JB is a prime candidate for the job. I think it's fitting if he has to sit out for a while. He kicked his team owners to the curb last season after he/they won the championship.
If he had not done that he and BDR might still be running for another championship. He may have lost some value with the owners concidering the way he treated BDR. Johnny Benson is THE MAN. Someday, he'll come back to Cup and be the new Mark Martin. Why don't they put Johnny in T.J. Bell's ride? Johnny's much higher in points and running for a championship. You're absolutely right, the defending champ should not be treated this way. T.J. ought to move over for JB. It seems to me that he was going to drive a car for DEI...and this was late last year that it was announced and there were a few questions on it...but I don't know why that fell through. A bunch of camera angles, and choice of shots.. You just can't switch back, and forth really fast.. When you switch cameras, they make you watch a fifteen second commercial.. They also have a lap chart during the race, so you can watch everyone's lap times, a lap, by lap summery as it happens on the track, and live chat with other fans.. TNT, kicks FOX's greedy butts.. They give you furry rats, TNT gives you streaming video, lap times, and much less "pop" driver talk.. They just call the race, without claims of seeing the future, and predictions that fall flat.. And pure unmitigated hype.. It was starting to make me believe that race people are so lame, they need to invent excitement, and I know that isn't true for fifty plus years.. This is much more like it.. I love Race Buddy, I won't miss the race because of work now Sunday. They didnt shove him down our throats like Digger. Wally's World was great. I actually missed this. I do have it on DVR, will have to look for this. How?

so he can get some points i don't know either.. maybe it applies to cars that have been in wrecks only I've never heard of that rule. As for as I know, cars have to maintain a minimum speed, and they did...the third time around. I thought there was a rule that the crew had one chance to fix their car, and if the car can't go out and maintain minimum speed, then they don't get to go back and forth to the garage all day.
After he brought out the second caution flag, his day should have been over if NASCAR was interested in enforcing the rules.

Jeff Burton finished ninth and ran average all race. Pretty solid day for good ol' JB. finished 4th but it could have been a lot worse. Not a great car but strategy helped him to a good day. .....Tony won! Eleven years since an owner driver won ,good day for Stewart-Haas 1st and 5th. Jeff did good at least he was on the lead lap all of the race. Just okay. Sadler finished back in the 20s, I think.
I always wished the coyote had gotten that obnoxious bird... Because the hunt is a lot funner and sportier. Oh for the first question no one got hurt so it was a good weak end of racing. Not bad until his water pump broke and finished 37th. Lets get all the bad luck out of the way now instead of later in the year when the chase starts. Kasey didn't finish really well but it wasn't bad either. If he would have had enough gas he could have had a 2nd place finish so its kinda disappointing that he had to settle for 15th :( but oh well We won! Smoke - 1st and Ryan - 5th place!

BECAUSE HE IS STUPID AND CAN'T DRIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, it was going to be a really good finish when Kasey had to pull out of 2nd to pit. Then, when his tire went, he lost 3 more spots. So, I was kind of disappointed that after such a good run, he had to settle for 15th. Actually, yes... Bowyer finished alot better than I thought he would... little bummed that he had a top 5 car, though =/ Finished 5th and moved up to 4th in the standings. Not to mention his boss won the race. No, Junior finished 29th ;( there is something up with his setup's this year. Being there live and seeing them just made my weekend. Even if they finished 42nd and 43rd.

I'm pleased with it, I'll take it and Move on. He did real good considering how bad his car was.

Now that the weekend is over its time to start getting excited for Michigan. Kahne did good!! I wish he could have finished a little better but I am glad he is still in the top 20. Tony won, and got further ahead in the points!
'nuff said. He managed to get a 4th finish with a terrible car. He didn't exactly have a great day performance-wise, but he had a decent finish, so I'm pretty happy about that. How did he do this weekend good ,bad or just ok ?

Hopefully, it all turns around at ROUSH-igan! Well my favorite nascar driver Robby Gordon won the Baja 500 on Saturday then finished 31 at the Pocono Nascar cup race on Sunday. 19th. It looks like he got burned on fuel mileage, but one thing I've learned from being a Mark Martin fan is that disappointment comes with the territory, so I'll just move on to Michigan, another track that Mark's always run well at.
The Coyote didn't just buy dinner because there wasn't a restaurant around that served Road Runner meat.
By the way, Congrats to all you Smoke fans on here. He pulled off a big win yesterday. First owner-driver to win a race since 1998! He had a top 5 car, but had to pit and spun on the last lap. Kinda stinks, but my second favorite driver finished 3rd. Great run. Kurt finished 37th after breaking a water pump and fell to fifth in point's. Dale Jr. took out David Stremme and Sam Hornish Jr. finished 10th. Bad day overall for Penske. Gordo had an up and down day.. running most of the day in the mid 20's. Considerding Letarte used pit strategy to get a top 5 out of a top 25 day.. AWESOME He finished 27th, but I also like Smoke, happy that he won. now its on to Michigan. Helio won the IRL race now that really made me happy.
Go Dale Jr & Hms My driver couldn't have done any better. Smoke won the race and strengthened his points lead so he's 71 points ahead of Jeff Gordon. It's been a very good year! Marcos had a fantastic day! His practice times were average (in the 30's) but they managed to improve the car all day and he was strong at the end. Even allowing for the fact that Tony was in fuel conservation mode, Ambrose was over 20 seconds behind him with 10 laps to go and ended up just 5 behind at the end....mega stuff! PERFECTadele

I have no problem with it. I love the kids emotions. He had already talked to track officials and Sam Bass about it and has ordered numerous replica's of it for his team. Its not a biggie. I wouldnt have done it but but to each his own. I really like this kid and his driving style but I had a hard time watching that.I know he promised his guys a piece of it but it still hurt to watch. haha you got to be kidding me! It was a cool celebration by a young amazing and talented driver! I mean come on guys who said that this sport had to be uptight? it was a celebration and he meant well. people just flip everything he does and makes it look so bad. hes the most talented driver in the sport whether YOU like it or not. I think he disrespected the trophy and belittled his win. If he wanted to share something with his crew, he could share his paycheck!
The 42 drivers he raced, any one of them would have cherished the guitar and the win. At first, I had no opinion...but now that I see all the drama and excitement it caused in NASCAR, I think it was totally cool. I liked his burnout even better, though...and I was there to see it luckily I think it was a case of acting before thinking. His team had told him if they that they all wanted a piece of the guitar. He was just trying to give them each a piece. In hindsight he regrets his actions, but they cannot be undone.

I didn't see Martin Truex have any issues on pit road Sad isnt it??? Another typical Jr weekend starts the race 18th and finishes 27th and is the lowest finishing Hendrick Driver. The Anti Jr crowd is bring it up because the crew chief was the one getting the blame when it's the drive having the problem. and the only reason I do it is to get all the Jr nation up in arms. Also, Ferrari and McLaren started their 2009 design late as they were fighting for the 2008 title until the final race.
