Why does alot of people just hate hamilton ?

May be...

  • because they hate that hes such a good driver and that hes young
  • The succesful are always resented.
  • Me personally I don't hate him or love him but why so many people hate him ??
  • who is he by the way....
  • Hes arrogant, loud mouthed, big headed and a danger to his fellow drivers. His daddy never out of the picture isn't a help,he hangs around like a bad smell and that annoys a lot of people,i personally dislike him immensely and im waiting for his big mouth to land him in trouble with true F1 fans, one day he will let slip and we will all see the true Hammy. He will probably be voted GB sports personality of the year tomorrow evening, that will be because of his devoted followers, they are mostly English and forgive them they don't know any better, yuck.
  • He's way too young to be that attractive, rich, and fast. I don't think we've seen his best yet, either.
  • I love massa and I hate hamilton I don't know whhy really maybe coz he is not look friendllylow-protein-food-for-dogs
  • Who else thinks NASCAR went a bit too far not to long ago...?

    May be...

  • yeah may have
    hey whatagal
what do you think you gonna get out of polls and suveys
  • It is their Logo, Registered Trademark and Copywrite.
Under US law it is the owners responsibility to enforce their own Trademarks. If they do not, they stand a chance of loosing them to become public domain.
    Then they would loose $$Millions.
If you think NASCAR or ISC is a hard *** on enforcement. You should try to use a Harley-Davidson name or logo without permission.
There will be lawyers at the door before the ink dries.
  • Hey Whatagal, if you find it so boring why are you in Nascar answering questions...to answer the original, Nascar is strict when they see the logo used without permission
  • It is what it is...But I do agree they can get their panties in a bunch over nothing when they should be more concerned about the health of the sport that makes it possible to have video games of it.
  • Not a NASCAR fan. Just don't get it - watching cars go round and round in a circle. I need more challenging sports.
  • the NASCAR logo?
    very selfish
    but what site was that?

EDIT wow thats even more lol
  • Not only is the Nascar logo (banner in many cases) trademarked but so is the NR2K3 logo, as well as the Papyrus logo.

It's been a matter of time until it happened. Next ,sim painters such as myself will not be able to try to replicate a drivers car for the new mods without someone hitting us for copyright infringement.
  • Yes Nascar Has, if u ask me i think that it sucks now
I quit whatching it long tim ago,
its a waste of my time
  • NASCAR is a very greedy organization in the first place
  • WHen they shut down one of the best NR2003 sites on the 'Net, all because of 1 tiny logo.
    OK that's selfish.
Luckily they have worked it out, but I think its absurd in the first place!controller driver serial usb

Nascar Nation---Can you tell me when Burger King first sponsored a stock car?

    May be...

  • how about joe nemacheck 1989
  • I can remember the old Burger King car
Seems like was Buddy Baker, or Cale Yarborough.
    Good Question tho.
  • 1978 Daytona 500.It was the #17 Burger King Chevy driven to a 15th place finish by Roger Hamby.
  • In honor of the splendid lunch I had today....I felt a trivia question was in order. Can you name the very first year a BURGER KING logo first appeared on a stock car? We're not talking full season here...their first car appeared dueing the 500. Can you name the car#? The driver? The mfg? How did this car do in the race??? Good luck and have fun!ultrasoft money registration key

    May be...

  • If you don't know anything about go-carts, then start the conversation by telling him that. And that you would like to learn more. Don't try to act like you know something, you will fall flat on your face.

You can still start with a question or two, I was just suggesting to not pretend to know what you're talking about, that would be even more obvious. He will probably figure out you just wanted a reason to talk to him anyway. You can always ask simple questions like, what kind of fuel they use and simple stuff like that.

  • What Went Wrong For Jeff Gordon In 2008?

    May be...

  • Just a bad year overall for the 24 team. He was in good position to win some races like California, Vegas and Martinsville but he didnt. Missed handling and setup most of the season on the 1.5 mile tracks but got better in the Chase. I think the team can rebound in 2009 but not sure if he will be back in 2007 form
  • Overall the #24 team didn't get the season they hoped for, but they still had a good year by any teams standards. Don't forget at the beginning of the year Gordon had a very good shot at winning a couple races when something went wrong, like breaking the axle or drive shaft in the daytona 500 after running top 3 all day, and then at Vegas when he had one of the cars to beat before being in the wreck with the #17 of Kenseth.

Maybe the #24 team needs a chemistry shake up with Jeff Gordon getting a new crew chief, but either way Steve is not a bad crew chief, so I wouldn't blame anything on him...
  • Jeff Gordon dominated for so many years, and then the sport changed. He had built such a great comminucation with Ray Evernham, and then it all went away. It has taken a little time to find a crew chief that will match with him (still looking), and when he catches up, he will be fine. He MAY have another Championship in him. But at this point, he has survived on his ability as a driver. Jimmie Johnson has it figured out, MOSTLY because of talent and Chad Knaus. The same problem with Jr. He has talent, and the best equipment. I think the CREW CHIEF is becoming an even more important piece of the puzzle to winning drivers.
  • What Changes Should Jeff Gordon Make To Be More Competitive In 2009?
  • Who?
  • It's questions like this that demonstrate just how amazing of a driver Jeff Gordon really is.
He went one whole season without a win, finishing with 4 poles,13 top 5's, 19 top 10's, and rounding the season off 7th in points. Alot of drivers would kill for that kind of year.

I don't really think anything "went wrong" for Jeff, I just think people are so used to seeing him in victory lane that when he doesn't get there, we don't know how to act.
Like snow in Las Vegas, rarely happens, when it does, the whole city shuts down because it's just so uncommon.
  • I don't care what anybody says Steve can NOT set the COT up for Jeff all that well. He's been very inconsistent.
  • Steve Latarte needs to get this magic back, he lost it all this yr, he could not get a race set up right at all. I think Steve will rebound and get Jeff back in victory lane. As far as Chad Knaus, heck I want him with Dale Jr. Jimmie can have Tony Jr.

Go Dale Jr & Hms in 2009
  • The #24 seemed to have fell behind with the COT on the 1.5 mile tracks such as Texas, Charlotte, and Chicago. Also, he just had bad luck. He could have won many races without bad circumstances. I heard Jeff say that he doesn't think that he and Chad would make a great team, so I would have to say no. I think Chad handles the #48's setups in a way that couldn't work for the #24. I can't think of any changes, but I think Jeff said that they will do everything they can and make any changes necessary to get the #24 up front in 2009. I think and hope he and Steve will rebound next year.
  • He was in the wrong place at the wrong time a bunch in 2008. It still ammazes me he had all that stuff happen to him during the season and him finish where he did in the points. In 2009 there is going to be a bunch go great for Jeff Gordon and the #24 team will have their stuff together. Ive become a fan of Jeff gordon after watching him race and see the determination he has. I did not like the guy in the mid 90's when he was getting into it with Rusty Wallace all the time.

The 24 team should keep what they have and GET AFTER IT AGAIN.

What does Nascar Nation think of Monster Trucks?

    May be...

  • MONSTER TRUCKS IS THE BEST MOTOR SPORT EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
  • I am personally not a fan. I saw them when I was really little like 3 or 4, and they kind of scared me, so I have been turned off of them from that point to now.
  • YAWN! Just my opinion as always. Put 20 or so on the track at the same time and keep driving until only one is left...then I'm on board.
  • Great way to enjoy another form of Motor Sports.
  • they alright for a one timer i guess
  • They are kewl.
  • AWESOME .. the driver of Maximum Destruction lives not to far from me... when he demolished his house to build a new one he drove his truck through his house
  • I used to be a big fan... until I found out the competitions are staged. Granted, it's still good entertainment, but it's just not the same.

I'm still fascinated by monster trucks though! I used to live right across from one of Bob Chandler's (of Bigfoot/Wildfoot/Snakebite fame) 4x4 shops! They'd bring down 2 or 3 of the trucks every year for the town founder's festival!
  • I love monster trucks my favorite is Maximum Destruction and all of the
Ford monster trucks (t maxx, blue thunder etc.)

nas88caror300 youre so lucky!!!!!!!!! talk about "Maximum Destruction"
    lol

when I get my dream truck (BLACK 2004-2008 Ford F-150 crewcab FX4 I want to lift it at least 2" (I don't know if this qualifies as a monster truck, but I love jacked- up trucks!!!)
  • Their so cool I wish I had one!!!
  • Luv em. Two of my neighbors have them and every year they go to Bowling Green, Oh. for a huge meet. There's a whole lot of money in those trucks. I've been to see them a couple of times. I'm 5'4 and I would need a big ladder to get up into a lot of them. The door sills are higher than I am tall. Lol
  • Monster trucks are cool,I watch Monster Jam from time to time.
  • oh i love monster trucks. if i ever become a race driver, or get into motor sports, a monster truck would be one of many things i'd love to give a try. for me, i'd just want to run over a bunch of cars, and jump ramps with those things.

just for show, i'd have a few soda cans (full) on the ground and run them over just to watch them burst.

i just want to run things over.
  • I like to see them crush little cars.
  • It's the "Pro Wrestling" of motorsports.
  • I love them and I even got to see them this summer. My favorite is the Scarlet Bandit
    http://www.bountyhunter4x4.com/wallpaper...
  • I like them. Ive taken my son Will to a couple of times in Tyler. He loves it. He ask me to do that kinda stuff when we are going down the road or when we are out at Grandpa's on the 4 wheeler. Not gonna happen.
  • Any thing powered by an internal combustion engine, and used for exhibition purposes is very much fun. I like Monster Truck shows, because not only do you get to see them, you get to watch the other stuff too. My favorite is when the people bring their own trucks and race them. I watched one of the guys from the public race another guy, inside the Metrodome and while the guy was winning his left front wheel came off and he still made a couple more turns to win. It was more fun that watching Grave Digger.
  • they're a'ight.
  • I like them ,they come here(Louisiana) every January
  • i never really got into them. but they're okay.
  • I love them. They have the shows in Albany at the knick and we go from time to time. My son has a picture of him and "RAMBO"...lol But that was awhile ago. When they are on TV we enjoy watching them from time to time./
  • Not much... wouldn't walk across the street to watch them.
  • I watch them every now and again. It gets pretty exciting at times.
  • They're entertaining.
  • SInce monster trucks have the ability to turn both left and right - I doubt that many NASCAR fans watch them............the racing is at a higher level than NASCAR roundy round oval racing.
  • Grave Digger
  • I love Monster Trucks, My nephew and I watch them all the time.
  • dey arez kewl
  • I love Monster Trucks! My dad has been taking me to see them for 20 yrs now. I remember me and my dad and being 5 yrs. old. It's been like two years since I've gone.742i olevia

  • It's Keselowski but I admit I had to look it up. Not a full time ride THIS year but it won't be long.............have a good one!
    (From Wikipedia.com)
Currently, Keselowski does not have a full-time sponsor for 2009. Brad has stated in a interview that he is Gay but doesnt want that to affect his racing career.

I must say, I did not know that about him.................
  • Brad Keselowski will not be racing full time in 2009. He probalby be race in 6 race in the 25 car. Maybe in 2010 he will race full-time but Mark Martin has a part-time contract in 2010 so he might share the ride with Keselowski.

As for the comment where you can only have a 4 car team...that is wrong. You can have 5 cars. Look at Roush Fenway...they have 5 cars.
  • Brad Keselowski will have a cup ride eventually, he's a great driver, a great guy, and a sponsor's dream: he never falters in interviews.
in 2009 he has the option of running 6 nascar sprint cup races without forgoing his rookie of the year eligibility for 2010, which in my opinion is when he's likely to start, and i'll bet that he'll run the number 25 godaddy chevy for hendrick motorsports as he did in his sprint cup debut this year
and re: him being openly gay...wow, good for him! good to see someone not afraid to say it even in the ultra-conservative world of nascar!
  • No he wouldn't. Remember there is 4 team cap in NASCAR now. Hendrick already has their 4

    #5 - Mark Martin
    #24 - Jeff Gordon
    #48 - Jimmie Johnson
    #88 - Dale Earnhardt Jr.

If anything he can compete in some races like he did in 2008, though it would have to be less than 7 if Hendrick wants him to compete for Rookie of the Year in 2009. He is expected to be the co-driver of the #5 in 2010 when Mark goes back on being a semi-active competitor. In 2009 he'd more than likely race the #25.
  • What # car will he be driving
How many races will he be in?
How do you think he will do?

I really took a liking to him in 08. What a great attitude he has too!

I hope I spelled his name right.
  • he does not have a full time ride. I took a shine to all the rookies. I always like to see how they are going to do running with the big dogs. keep up or Lag behind...play it safe this first year or charge to the front. And of course make rookie mistakes.
gee I didn't know that about Brad either.cathay pacific staff
  • NASCAR Nation? Can you name all of the Tide Rides?

    May be...

  • Hey Superdave VP where have you been, I think I'm the only Kurt Busch fan left except for you.
  • Tide Laundry detergent sponsored a stock car for several several years. Can you name them all....car #/driver/team/and the year(s) it was on the track???? Good luck and have fun with it and remember "IF IT'S GOT TO BE (TRIVIA) IT'S GOT TO BE (JEFF C)"

  • Jeff Gordon likes to go on the ''Tide Ride''.
  • 17 driven by Darrell Waltrip for Hendrick motorsports and that statred in 1987.

#5 was driver by Ricky Rudd for HMS and that started in 1991.

    # 10 was driven by Ricky Rudd for Rudd Performance motorsports in 1991

    # 32 was driven by Ricky Craven for PPI motorsports in 1991.
  • 17-DW-HMS 87-90

  • Darrell Waltrip drove the original Tide Ride. I believe it was the #11 car at the time.

Both Ricky Rudd and Ricky Craven have attempted to drive it as well, neither one with much luck.

Bobby Hamilton Jr drove it for a year or two, and then the team shut down.rtw online
  • Which race(s) of 2008(if any) did you not watch?

    May be...

  • I missed all of them. Deployed overseas.
  • Missed the first California race. I did watch the start on Sunday but did not watch the rest of the race on Monday.
  • I missed the second Dover race because I was in San Diego. I watched it later i the week though. I was at the first Dover race though.
  • I actually missed most of the Chase races because I wound up working on Sunday afternoons.
  • I really didn't watch the Samsung 500 at Texas. It was probably the worse race ever of Jeff Gordon's long career and it was also one of the most boring races of the year in my opinion, so it wasn't worth watching to me. But I did watch Carl win at the end. I stopped watching the Amp Energy 500 for a while after Jeff's crash, but I found myself watching the rest with less than 100 to go.
  • is there any race that you just gave up on?

i did new hampshire 1st race
    and chicagoland
  • The Brickyard 10 as in it stopped every 10 lap's to change tire's. Thank's Goodyear, for nothing. Whatever happened to Hoosier?
  • any that Jeff Gordon led.
  • Gave up on the Brickyard.....way too painful to stomach. I never watch the road races....never have/never will. And Kansas is another race I am not too fond of but I did watch it this year. Interesting question!
  • I fell asleep for both races at Clubfoot Speedway... er, I mean Auto Club Speedway
  • Watched everyone of them. There were some I was real happy about the outcome like Richmond, but that's Nascar.
  • I missed the first half of the Sonoma race because we were at a company picnic. (we left early)
    Glad I did, Kyle won.

Has contemplating the 2008 season change your mind about any driver good or bad?

    May be...

  • i've lost a lot of respect for Jimmie Johnson since he cheated his way again to another championship.
  • ***I have to admit that I do like Jimmie as a driver more but he still doesn't have much of a fun personality. Kyle Busch is a good driver, but I still wish that the kid would grow up. I still respect Dale, Jr., but he is still no driver like his daddy was.
  • I wasn't very fond of Denny Hamlin or Juan Pablo but as the season went by and I was able to pay more attention to them Ive gained alot of respect for them. I wasn't aware of all the charity work that Denny does in his home state and JPM gives back to his fellow countrymen to help them.

Im with storm on David Gilliland. I like him alot after he got his chance at cup but that racing deal with JPM was intentional, I don't care which way you look at it, he turned hard left.
  • I came into the 2008 season kinda liking Kyle Busch, he wasn't one of my drivers and all but he was in the past, but just during this season he really ticked me off a lot, not due to him winning all the races that he won but just his overall attitude, he really needs to step up on the track type stuff. He does some great things sometimes off the track but on he really needs to mature. He's just not quite there yet.
  • Dealing with people in here has changed my mind about drivers. I've come to like pretty much all drivers more. Dealing with Brian France's mentality has made me dislike the sport more in general.
  • Ah don no wat dat means but heck ya. have you ah seenah myah daddy. he doneah wam ah bam ah thank ya mam to mah mahma and den he dun took off. .
  • Yes, I had a pretty good opinion of David Gilliland in the beginning and after he lied straight to the camera about the Montoya incident my opinion drastically changed for the bad.

Juan Pablo Montoya, I use to hate him; however in 08 he was real honest, drove pretty well, dropped a lot of his attitude and wrecked a lot less people.
  • I lost and thus have no respect for Brad Kesolowski after he intentionally hit Denny's car during a caution for no reason. Furthermore, Denny had to take the blame. You all know how the incident went...
  • I have an even lower opinion of Dale Earnhardt, Jr. given his piss poor year with the best equipment from the best organization in NASCAR...............
  • I can't call two of them Wreck 'em Ragan or Juan Problem anymore...

But I can call two of them Mr. Ed and Stupid.

Plus I like Gordon more now for the reason Winter Glory mentioned.
  • Gained alot of respect for David Ragan and Juan Pablo. Both seemed to mature on and off the track a great deal. Oh, and Carl Edwards IS a TOTAL douche when the camera is not on him!

  • I can actually tolerate that little dart without a feather a little bit better now....
  • Carl Edwards. I was kind of indifferent to him, but by the end of the season I admired his competitiveness. He never gave up.
  • I never really cared for Carl Edwards. I didn't like him but I didn't hate him either.

But after seeing some of the things that were going on off camera (or on camera, I guess) made me think twice. For example, when he acted like he was going to punch Kenseth during an interview, then he wrecked his own teammate at Talladega, and then when he got into it with Harvick.

After all that, I've lost all respect for him. He seems like two different people at times.

I also rather liked Brad Keselowski going into the season, but after his little incident with Denny Hamlin on the track at Lowe's back in May, I just stopped liking him altogether. Sorry, but racing someone hard under CAUTION is pretty stupid and thinking that they're not going to retaliate after you purposely ran into them, just makes you a flat out idiot.

I don't think there was anyone this season that I hated and ended up liking them though; oh well, there's always next season for that.
  • I didn't really like Jeff Gordon coming into the season, but after seeing him go a whole year without a win and actually being a really good sport about it, I have gained a lot of respect for him.
  • Did you go in the 2008 season not liking someone and come out of it with a newer respect for them? Or was it the opposite?
  • For me, it would be Kyle Busch for good and bad reasons. Prior to '08, he was my third favorite driver. After the Coke 600 at Charlotte, Kyle gave Jeff the bird for "racing him hard". Kyle races hard, so I thought "He thinks it's okay when he does it, but not when someone else does it to him?" The deal with Carl at Bristol was kind of uncalled for, too. Along the way, I lost some respect for him. However, he showed his full potential as a driver, so I did gain respect from him, too. He didn't let anyone get in his way and gave it all he had to win races. So entering 2009, I have respect for him as a true racer.
  • I liked Denny Hamlin a lot before the beginning of this season, but after seeing his actins and listening to him whine and bash his own team quite a few times this season,I have lost a lot of respect for him.
  • Well, I used to call David Ragan "Wreck 'Em" LOL He cleaned his driving up quite a bit this year and was a suprisingly consistent driver. The only thing he did consistently last year was take a bunch of good cars with him every time he crashed. Also, the more I hear and see Carl Edwards the less impressed I am about him as a person. Several sources have said how two faced he is and that his on camera personality compared to who he really is are totally different. I really respect his ability but I am not as much of a fan of his anymore.
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • I've mentioned this before, but for those who don't know.
Having spent the entire last half of the season defending Jeff Gordon against the question of "Does Jeff Gordon officially suck"? has turned me into a bit of a Jeff Gordon fan.
Thanks JGG, your strategy of turning all the anti-Gordonites into Gordon lovers is working brilliantly!!!

If I thought for a second this strategy would work for Kyle, I'd do it in a heart beat. But I just don't have the heart to.

  • I keep slowing down on nascar 04?

    May be...

  • Yes you are still using nascar 04 when 09 is out now. Ask Santa for nascar 2009, that will speed you up.

    Possibly too much body damage.
  • I think the easier it is to manuever the car the slower it is...try kicking it up a notch.
  • okay, i keep on slowing down on nascar 04 and i put all the settings on easy. do you know what could be going on?
  • Nascar 04 when I owned a few years back did the same way with me. I figured I got a "lemon copy" or it was a glitch in the programming.
If I remember correctly it only occurred on certain tracks....so you might want to experiment a little. Just an opinion as always.
  • What are you talking about? Is this a game?
  • Its possible someone ran into the back of you or you scraped the wall. If that happens you might slow down. Also check your controlls and make sure you are not pushing the wrong button and it's configured right. It may be set up for the keyboard to be used to play the game. You may have go in the settings and switch it over to use a joystick or a game wheel.lotus notes forum
  • Does anyone think that Scott Speed can win ROTY in 2009?

    May be...

  • Right now, it appears that Joey Logano and Scott Speed are so far the only drivers that will compete for Rookie of the Year honors in 2009. There seems to be a lot of talk about Joey and what he might be able to do, but not much for Speed. Looking at his ARCA and Truck stats, it looks like he can get into any type of car and have success right away. So my question is, do you think that Speed could end up being the top rookie in '09? Or do you think it is pretty much guaranteed that Logano will win the honor next year?
  • Not a chance.Joey will smoke him.
  • I think Scott Speed will win ROTY, in all of Joey Lagano's starts, none of them he has ran well, but Scott Speed has in some of has starts, like Homestead.
  • Joey Logano will be the 2009 Raybestos Rookie of the Year, hands down!
  • You mean it's not going to be Robert Richardson Jr.? Nah, I'm rooting for Speed... he's a very talented driver, and has a leg up on the maturity level which is going to drag Joey down this year (although I see Joey being a threat in the future.)
  • I believe Scott will win ROTY.
  • Scott Speed paints his toenails.
  • I believe Scott can win ROTY. I think he will be better overall than Logano in 2009.
  • Oh yes, Scotty will beat that soggy sliced bread Logano any day, we will see who the real deal is next yr, I even think Ambrose might do better than Logano.. But Scotty is by choice for ROTY.

GO Dale Jr & HMS in 2009
  • Absolutely.....definitely showed talent in everything he has drove so far....so my money's on Scott. Just an opinion but I think Logano will choke.
  • Possibly. It all depends on how he handles and deals with the pressure of being in a regular cup ride for his first year. Attitude (Scott has a pretty good one) can also play a part too. As well as staying out of wrecks, not being stupid and learning to drive and race the big boys and most important not being a hot head and learning from his mistakes.

If sliced bread, Lagano messes up and does not do that well, Speed may take ROTY.
  • I think Scott Speed will win the ROTY . I think Joey will struggle and get into a lot of trouble with the Trash as he calls the drivers in the back of the field !
  • Everyone is talking about Logano now but I think Speed has a good chance.
  • Yes. Ambrose is my guy, but yes I believe he can.
  • It's going to be interesting, I guess it all depends on how well he races against the other rookies and if just him and Joey, I'm not sure.
  • If he could duplicate that ARCA run from last year, yea, definitely.
  • well if thats the only 2 then i hope so
  • From what I've seen of Logano in the Sprint Cup races this season, he won't do even half as good as what people are making him to be. I don't think Speed is ready either, but he seems to have learned the Sprint Cup cars faster than Logano has.

Ambrose seems ready enough, but he doesn't have the same level of equipment Speed and Logano have, and when they get used to the series and start running consistently good, I think he'll be left behind.

I wanna see Ambrose do it, but I think Scott Speed will be the one who wins ROTY.
  • Logano will have better equipment with JGR, but Speed showed promise in the races he did run last year. He's probably just as talented as Joey but it is hard to beat a Joe Gibbs ride.t mobile corporate phone numbers
  • For Christmas I am getting a Richard Petty Driving Experience--where should I go?

    May be...

  • My cousin done Charlotte,He said it was really fast . He bought the most expensive package they offer . They let him get up to 160mph , but killed the engine when he tried to pass the pace car

Charlotte is NOT paperclip shaped, its considered a triovel
  • My choice would be Charlotte of those three but all are great tracks. i have often thought about trying it when i am in Disney World because they have one there too but it wouldn't be the same so i have never done it.
  • Of those, I'd probably go for Darlington... but I'm waiting for my chance to do it at Gateway!
  • If it were me, I'd pick Bristol. What an awesome gift!
  • I have always wanted to do the Richard Petty Driving Experience...and my wife has graciously gave her approval for me doing so. So for Christmas that's going to be one of my presents. But here's my dilemma....where should I "experience" it at????
My choices would include....Bristol; Darlington; or Charlotte????
Those are the three tracks closest to where I live but it's too hard to decide. If you were me where would you go???? Have any of you done the Richard Petty Driving Experience????? If so, where?
  • Definitely Charlotte so you can feel the speed, I never did it ad would love to. You will have a blast!
  • I would go Charlotte , I drove at Texas Motor Speedway and I had a blast. I have a friend that drove at Homestead ,Bristol, and Charlotte and he said Charlotte was the best. I want to drive at Talladega next.http://m.flickr.com/photo.gne?id=3097108... http://m.flickr.com/photo.gne?id=3097103...
  • I would choose Daytona.
  • Me personally, I would choose Darlington.
Regardless though, you'll have a blast!
  • It depends what type of track YOU prefer.

    Bristol.....short, fast, tricky.

    Darlington...fast, mid-range oval

Charlotte... fast, 1.5 mile paper clip

    Congrats, and enjoy.
  • charlotte
    darlington you wont like
and bristol is so fast you wont know what happened
  • I'd like to experience the progressive banking at Bristol. But personally LMS would be my pick.
  • Out those choices I would go to Charlotte for the speed!
  • I'd go for Darlington myself, but I'm biased.

Thats three very different option for you. You could either go for Darlington and the history that track has, the speed you get at Lowe's, or of course Bristol.

You should go for whatever track you like best, or narrow it down to two and flip a coin or something.
  • I haven't done it.
But for some reason I love Darlington.
  • If it was me, and I could NOT go to a super speedway, then I would chose Bristol. That would be a great track to race a friend at and have some aggressive racing. I know in some of the driving experiences they'll actually allow you to race, draft, and pass. I would check their websites and see what is allowed before I made the choice.watering-a-vegetable-garden
  • Why do so many nascar fans hate dale jr?

    May be...

  • Dale jr is better than his daddy by far. I dont understand either. dale jr is nascar. The haters are losers.
  • ok i know about jr nation and everyhting but why do people think he sucks when at least hes got wins
To name some off Daytona (500)
    Talladega and 2 NNS championships
sure he doesnt have what his dad did but i mean there are plenty drivers that are worse than him and i just dont see it

    just wonderin
  • He's pretty much a haven for people who want to spend tons of money buying his merchandise. He didn't get in racing until he was about 17 so that alone tells you that he had connections (his dad obviously), or he was brought into the sport for other reasons. I can't name another driver who got such a late start in racing and then became a NASCAR driver. In fact, most get started around the age of 5 racing karts or something. To me, Jr. is just a cash cow and it's funny to me to watch how many people go crazy over his NAME. There are some true fans out there, but he gets so much coverage on TV taht even the new fans automatically start liking him because that's the only name they've ever heard of.
  • Because so many fans love Dale Jr.
  • I think people hate him because they hate his fans. They don't think he is worthy of Most Popular Driver and they get annoyed when all his fans think he's the best thing ever. Well, you get fans of that sort for any driver. But because Jr. is so popular (primarily because of his dad, I will admit) he has more of those types of fans.
I don't get it either. Jr.'s a top driver. He's debatably the sixth or seventh best driver in the current decade. Only guys I can think of who are better than him on average is Gordon, Johnson, Stewart, Kenseth, and maybe Busch and Edwards.
  • IDK, I think most people can't stand that over crazy side of JR Nation that gets nuts like tossing beer cans at other drivers, I'm not part of that JR Nation. Then there are the ones who just think he will never be his dad.. Well Dale Jr doesn't want to be his dad he wants to be his own. Yes theres other drivers who have not done what he has done a lot of drivers out there have not won the Daytona 500. I think if people will just let Dale Jr be Dale Jr and not try to put him in his dad's shoes it will be fine, quit comparing him, good grief, theres no comparison at all. Then theres the people who think he just has bandwagon fans, people pull for him just because everyone else does, I know 3 people who hate him just for that reason. I was just thinking the other night what are all the haters going to do if he actually wins a championship, Y/A will have to have a bash Dale Jr forum dedicated just for those people. Then theres the people who have nothing else better to do than bash Dale Jr, I think its time some of those people get a life and do something positive, like actually become a real Nascar fan, and respect all drivers and their fans.

Go Dale Jr & Hms in 2009
  • Dale Jr has been expected to take off in his daddy's footsteps and that hasn't happened yet so alot of people have come to dislike him for not carrying the legacy that his father has. Jr will never be as good on the wins and titles that his father had but the fan base far surpasses his dad and any other driver in the sport today. He is a money maker for nascar. No matter what he touches it turns to gold in endorsements.
  • I really don't think THERE IS a nascar fan that hates Dale Jr.
  • Most people don't hate him. The most popular driver awards prove that. The amount of money he makes on memorabilia proves it. Most of the one's that speak bitter about him just wish their driver was as popular "or" their driver themselves wish they were as popular. Every driver in the cup series knows there is no driver liked as much as Dale Jr.
  • In my opinion, I think everyone expects him to be his dad and he isn't, they don't understand that Jr is his own man with his own way of doing things so they choose to hate him instead of accepting him as he is. Now I love Jr and it doesn't matter to me who his dad was, I like him for him!
  • I don't like him because too many people DO like him. Blame my dad he's always tried to make me be a Jr fan.
  • Because he gets most of the attention, but does he ask for it? No. Second because these fans think everything was handed to him on a silver platter which is not true, true fans who know their NASCAR history know this isn't true.tile backsplash idea

What would you like to see Kyle Petty do in 2009?

    May be...

  • Stick with televison
  • I at least want him to continue his role on TNT. FOX is my favorite, but I enjoyed TNT's broadcasts the most in 2008 and he was a big factor in that. I'd love to see him drive for another team if he can be competitive and wins races, but if it does absolutely nothing for him, then I think he should continue doing television. That and his amazing duties at the Victory Junction Gang camp.
  • None of the above!! Keep working on the Junction Gang it is the only thing he has done good!! His commentary is horrible and he can't drive!!
  • I've always have liked Kyle, for all he does, but I think it's time for him to retire.
  • it would be cool to see him win a race, i always like to see the little guys win.
  • Last I heard, he was about 95% done deal going sports car racing in Grand Am. Haven't heard anything lately, though.
  • Drive for the Petty team

  • get off TV and take care of Petty enterprises
  • If he still wants to drive, I say say more power to him.
  • Retire. He's not a very good announcer, tends to drone on about something.
  • I'd like to see Kyle in the broadcast booth and do the truck series...I think Kyle could see a rebirth in his career. Look at Hamilton Sr; Musgrave; Benson; etc etc etc. Just an opinion as always.
  • I voted for him to stay in the TV business. Kyle and Wally Dallenback jr are pretty good together on TNT. He has been in Nascar a very long time compared to most of the current drivers.

If not that then drive for his family's cup team.
  • Kyle Petty's racing days are over, stick with TV stuff.
  • i say choice 3
  • I think he should stick with TV and be a pit announcer and announce from the Pace Car.
  • Stick with television.Nothing against Kyle, but his time was over years ago.
  • Drive a Limited Schedule (10 Races Top)
Join the Broadcast crew not Just for TNT but ABC as well too liven up the coverage.

  • hang out at my house and him doing his commentary while im watching the race on tv.
  • It would be great for him to drive with the Petty team, Im really dissapointed that Kyle is really one of the true NASCAR drivers left. Now its all these young drivers and no veterans. Thats why i always rooted for drivers like Dale Jarret and Ricky Rudd
  • Try anything but Television. He is horrible at being a commentator.
  • I think he should stick with television. He does make a pretty good announcer.ps2 trade in value

  • Do nhra pro stock racers build torque into there engines?

    May be...

  • They build high torque at the highest rpm possible. Pro Stock engines have the highest BMEP of any naturally aspirated racing engines in the world. All of the gains in the past few years have come from moving the torque peak higher and the resulting horsepower gains.
  • I don't know of an engine that doesn't have torque!

  • Have you ever been to a nascar race in michigan?

    May be...

  • 1st nascar race i ever went to was at michigan motor speedway. don't remember the name of the race but it was cool. since that time, i've only been to daytona which is even better. the michigan race, we sat so low you couldn't see much of the race. but all in all, quite the trip.
  • I have never been to Michigan much less a race there.....maybe some day. My goal is to one day travel with the Cup schedule (when I retire) start in Daytona and follow them all the way to Miami or wherever the season ends in oh about 40 years. LOL.
  • YES!! I love going to MIS, it is amazing. There is no bad seat there! And the scenery of the irish hills is gorgeous!
  • I've been to several races there. It really depends where you sit as to how well you can see. If you sit in the 1st maybe 10-15 rows you can only see the roof of the cars going past you and the ends of the straights. If you sit higher up you can see the cars go all the way around the track pretty well.
  • no but i would like to
  • Been to every NASCAR race at MIS since 1996, and currently live less than 20 miles from the facility. Over they years, MIS has become a fantastic facility, and the views of the track are great once you get above rows 15-20. Been told it also has some of the best camping of all the tracks, but since I live in the area I dont camp out there. Traffic used to be a nightmare, but the newer system they have in place has really helped (plus knowing all the backroads doesnt hurt either). The only problem with MIS is the racing can be hit-or-miss. I've witnessed some great races and awesome finishes like last years Truck race where Darnell beat out Benson by inches. But I've also seen some real boring ones like when Jarrett won by over 10 sec in a caution-free event back in 1996. Overall though its a great place to see a race and I look forward to going to both event weekends every year.hp r5 rim
  • NASCAR TRIVIA can you name this driver?

    May be...

  • jeff gordon the legend is the king
  • This is obviously Jeff Gordon, but hubby says Harvick.
  • Jeff Gordon would be my guess, but 3straight JJ fan beat me too it! =)
  • The Driver Of The #24 Dupont Automotive Finishes Chevrolet Impala SS,From Pittsboro,Indiana,4 Time Champion,81 Wins,Jeff Gordon !
  • My first start was a passing of the torch you might say...the legend went out in a blaze of glory....I didn't fare much better. My first year I found that I wasn't in Kansas anymore....where's Judy when I need her??? With my sunglasses on I became one of the most popular drivers and still am. Along my career I have had a split in fortune, four years that were amazing, and a lackluster year in 2008. But my fans say I am still "on fire". But racing isn't my only worries these days...sometimes I have two passengers. Who am I????
  • Jeff Gordon

  • You are a Nascar Owner and you find a sponsor .....?

    May be...

  • If that's all my options I think I will go ahead and declare bankruptcy!
  • I'd have to take Carpentier. That man can qualify like it's going out of style. It doesn't hurt that he's very pleasant and marketable, as well.
  • I agree with you on laughing with David G. With the guys you have listed bankruptcy is surely to follow. But if having to choose i would go with AJ, he does have skills he did turn it on at the end of 2008 and he is desperate for a ride maybe he would pull out all the stops and put on a really nice show.
  • Ward Burton, because even though I dont understand him when he speaks, he has seniority and past chamipions provisional so he can get in for sure for a couple of races with out even trying. And he has talent, or did, so I am sure it would come back to him. And he carries a lot of older fans so they would buy his merchandise and that would lead to even more money.
  • AJ Allmendinger on some tracks and Patrick Carpentier on some tracks.
  • I'm going with Carpentier, he does know how to qualify he is such a nice guy and very marketable. The Dinger would be fine also, but I'm going with Carpentier. Now if sometold me I would have to pick Yeley, Petty or Wallace, then I'd do what David G is doing, I'd file for bankruptcy also.

Go Dale Jr & Hms in 2008
  • Patrick Carpentier because he has an awesome amount of open wheel experience and he is a very good friend of Junior
  • AJ Allmendinger, as much as I don't like him, he has skills.
  • I would pick A.J. Allmendinger. I think he did a great job with Team Red Bull before getting fired. Then he got in the #10 car and did even better by running in the Top 15 almost every race. Normally I would want a veteran in the car, but because of the way he ran with the #10, I would feel confident with A.J. in my car.
  • Well there are only two guys on your list that are proven qualifiers. No doubt either Patrique or "Front row" Joe. Ward and the rest of them are terrible qualifiers.
  • Ok, a hypothetical question for this one...just for fun of course.
You are a NASCAR team owner and you find a sponsor who agrees to sponsor you the ENTIRE season providing you qualify for each race. You qualify they pay....you don't no paychecks that week. So here's my question with so few names left (in the real world) who are still seeking employment who would you hire from the names below that you think would get you in the field every week???? Tell me why you chose who you did.....here's your choices:

    AJ Allmendinger; JJ Yeley; Joe Nemechek; Mike Wallace;
Kyle Petty; Reagan Smith; Ward Burton; or Patrick Carpentier
  • Even though he is not on your list I would start out with Terry labonte. he has Championship provisionals then once we were in the top 35 I would put in A.J. I think he did really well this season. He he was not available I would go with Reagan Smith. Both are young and have good NASCAR futures.
  • Ward Burton has proven he can win in the past. None of the other drivers have done that, other than Kyle Petty, but those wins were nearly 20 years ago. My only concern about him is that he has been out of racing for a few years.
  • Dinger
  • allmendinger because I think he is good I just think he needs the right equipment I hope he gets a job next year.
  • I'd go for the 'Dinger or one you forgot... Kenny Wallace.anna nicole smith game

    Jeff Earnhardt ?

    May be...

  • In 2009, Earnhardt and fellow Dale Earnhardt Inc. development driver, Trevor Bayne will split time in a full time DEI ride.

He's got his grandpa's eyes in this pic....
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Ear...
  • I'm not too sure, but if it's what Maggie said Trevor Bayne will embarrass him like he does in the Camping World East Series in the same equipment. Jeffrey is another Dale Earnhardt Jr., which I guess is a good thing to some people.
  • There doesn't seem to be much information on it. I keep getting conflicting results that says that DEI has put Martin Truex's little brother in a ride and yanked Jeffrey from rides in other series. Makes me wonder if the Wiki article is still valid. It could be but I can't find anything for sure indicating he'll run a season In the Nationwide series.
  • when is he getting into NASCAR?
  • I didn't know Kerry had a kid that old. It looks like he is already in Nascar.
  • Yes he will share a ride at DEI or whatever they will call it soon. It's kind of odd that he looks more like Dale Jr. then Kerry !
  • I'd say 2010 he will be driving at daytona 500.
  • Cool, I didn't know this. Maggie's answer is very informative. He also has Dale Jr's cocky grin lol.

In answer to your Q: 2009 (only knew cuz Maggie knew :D )bill stahly
  • What is the funniest thing you have seen happen at a nascar race?

    May be...

  • Jeff Gordon crashing
  • Tony climbing the fence after his win and then getting over the fence and gets swamped by people, he was trapped like a bug in a spiderweb. That was funny.
  • The last I can recall was at Watkins Glen when that fan came asking for Matt's autograph...
  • 3 crashing into the sidewall at daytona
  • Dale Jr. loosing race after race after race after race.................
  • cars going fast around a track
  • Yeah that thing with the Matt Kenseth Fan was pretty funny. But one of the races that I attended...well someone brought a beach ball and bounced it around our section and we all got to sign our names on it...and I wrote my name on it and Go #3.........threw the ball into the middle of our section and bounced off this guys shoulder and onto the woman in front of him and she just glared at him...he turned to look and we were all laughing and pointing at him...like he got in trouble. He just grinned and shook his head. He ws cool. But well that was funny at the time. And I liked the snowball fight a few seasons back with the drivers. Not so funny but cool.
  • The funniest thing I have seen in recent history in person was back in 2005. I was at MIS, our seats are just exiting turn 4, in row 4. I was surrounded by Tony Stewart fans and no offense to anyone but I am not a fan and pretty much let everyone around me know it, in a joking playful way of course, just having fun with how my luck seems to go. There are what, probably 100,000 Junior fans at MIS out of the 180,000 attending and I sit in a sea of Home Depot orange...go figure.....LOL!

Well anyway ole Tony Stewart made my day, he got loose and smacked into wall coming out of turn 3, did a nice little spin or two, skidded and scrapped all the way till he landed smack dab in front of me, his front end was pointing darn near at my seat.....ohhh Lordy be, I sure did have fun with that (after I was sure he was alright of course). I am pretty sure I was the only person in Section 74 jumping up and down and screaming my head off ;) Tony finally got his car started and was able to limp it off the track (I don't even remember if he came back to finish or not) I could be mistaken but I am pretty sure he gave me the finger after he got it started .......LOL!!

It was pretty funny & no I didn't get beat up I am pretty friendly gal & everyone around me took it pretty good. See, NASCAR fans are the bestest!!hliton hotels
  • NASCAR TRIVIA Question 43 vs 21?

    May be...

  • I believe it was in 2001 at the Food City 500 at Bristol. I think Elliott Sadler in the #21 won and John Andretti finished 2nd in the #43. I remember Elliott started way in the back. I could be wrong, though. I really don't think that we will see it again if it stays the way it is going. But I hope that the Wood Brothers rebound and Petty is competitive once again soon.
  • I haven't been a fan that long.
  • If gas prices stays down for a year then the economy will get better and maybe in 2010 we'll see more sponsors once again. The Arabs dropped the prices of oil because they were worried the USA was going to go green with electric cars so they dropped the prices. There was a special on 60 minutes because of it. They are talking about trying to keep the gas (oil) prices at a steady price. If that happens the economy should improve and Petty could once again land a sponsor.
  • Being the huge Petty fan that I am I was very disappointed to hear that our arch rivals the Wood Bros would be cutting back to only 12 races next year. This is something they used to do in the 70's hand pick 18 races and go out and win 11 of them with Pearson. Now I don't see them winning any races next year but it sadden me to see them give up on running the entire season. My fondest memories of a child was to see the win come down between the #21 and #43 especially at Martinsville. So here's my question can you tell me the LAST time the #43 and #21 finished first and second (either of one them to win) where did it happen and who were the drivers of the #43 and the #21.
And do you think we'll ever see it again or has that shipped sailed for good? Good luck and have fun with it!!!!best charge card

Is anyone gonna take over Mark Martins Gay?

    May be...

  • You know I really hope Mark Martin kicks butt next year in the #5
  • I agree with Superdave. All i wanna do is talk NASCAR. Thats why its called the NASCAR section. Don't no why people have to come here and tell us NASCAR is gay, NASCARs not a sport, and **** like that. NOBODY GIVES A **** WHAT YOU THINK.
  • for a name
    we Got
    Jeff Gordons Gay
    Jimmie Johnsons Gay
    and
    Now
    Dale Jrs Gay

    wheres the other hendrick lol
  • Good Answer SuperDave.....Good answer!
  • You da man Dave!
  • wow, they're calling some of the straightest guys in the country gay. how pathetic.

i like mark martin too, one of the most respected drivers in the sport.

you know i was just wondering, do you think maybe it's the same guy doing this?
  • I agree with Superdave, it wont be long before someone takes the name and Y!A will just turn its back on it, like they do everything else.
  • Mark Martins gay with team Hendrick
  • LOL.I guess we have one now(the one above me).I agree with SuperDave...tell 'em brother!!
  • Oh Im sure its just a matter of time before someone will. It seems to be a theme here in this section. I can ask decent questions and give decent answers and still get deleted and reported but the gay this, they gay that go untouched. All I want to do is talk Nascar not someones alledged sexual orientation or preference.

BTW, go ahead snitches, rat your *** off you pathetic bunch of pukes! Dont let the keyboard hit you in the ***.
  • Some people just can't handle the idea of others being happy.
    Gay-
adjective 1. having or showing a merry, lively mood.

Mark Martin has an infectious spirit.

Woah...Superdave has a temper, who knew?
  • i hope not
  • nobody will because they cot Matt Kenseth (naked) laying in my bed with me

does that mean you dont like me Dave :'(hienergy tsa
  • Who will win the Auto Club 500 and who will be the first car out of the race?

    May be...

  • Umm isn't it kind of early for this?

Anyways I'll play along and say that Matt Kenseth wins Auto Club 500 and Marcos Ambrose finishes last
  • Jeff Gordon will win, and Michael Waltrip will finish last.
  • Kurt Busch is going to win in Fontana and I dont give a crap who finishes last.
  • I will say #18 will win....and sigh my beloved #43 will be last....we absolutely stink at California.
  • Junior wont be last he win WIN the Auto Club 500.

Yeah let me see the thumbs down.
  • Jeff Gordon will win and Dale Jr will finish last, thats my opinion whats yours?
  • Jeff Gordon or Kyle Bush will win and someone will come in dead last but no telling who and I doubt if it's Jr.
So JGG gave me a thumbs down for saying Jeff will win and you can give me one for saying Jr. won't be last.

  • Matt Kenseth will win Jeff second and Waltrip will be last
  • oh you're so cool with your "Dale Jr is gay" nickname. @$$hole.

You are right about one thing, Jeff Gordon will win, but the first car out of the race will be the 20 of Joey Logano.
  • Jimmie Johnson will win it and Scott Speed will blow up first :)
  • Biffle wins, Boyer finishes last.
  • Give Burton the win and Logano last.

    *HYPD*
  • imm gonna say Mark Martin will win(jr finshed 4th)
    and last will be Gilliland
  • My Lord and Savior Dale Earnhardt Jr will win the Auto Club 500 in California and Ryan Newman will bring up the rear and finish last.suped out
  • NASCAR NATION...another trivia question?

    May be...

  • Jeff I wouldn't have guessed Ken Schrader. Great Job Maggie!
    Thumbs Up!
  • In 1990 during the 41st annual Southern 500 Bud Moore was furious!! His driver, Morgan Shepherd, has just been taken out by another driver. The other driver earlier in the race had been accidently tapped by Shepherd and sent into the wall. 42 minutes after repairs that driver came out of the pits squalling his tires he was gunning for the #15 car.
When he caught the #15 he deliberately steered into the side of Shepherd's car sending them both hard into the wall....ending both of thier days. Moore went running up the pit wall looking for the car owner and the driver of the other car. When ESPN asked where he was going Moore answered "We ought to go over there and work that boy's head with a hammer". Moore with the help of NASCAR was able to calm down before he reached that driver. So here's my question.....who was the driver that got Bud Moore so hot under the collar????
  • Ken Schrader
