I don't care much for either as a person, and as I inferred, I don't consider either a grown man.. A fight between them would not be good for the sport.. I don't know. I would much rather watch the race on my Sprint Mobile. That 1.5X2 inch screen doesn't miss a bit of the action! : ) Because NASCAR is the most fun you can have with your clothes on I really have no earthly idea. Its hard enough for me trying to turn this computer on much less trying to watch a Nascar race with internet service going in and out.
The other half= : I have a big TV too...with Dish Network. Once when we had a storm it knocked the sattelite out...so I had to watch it on computer. Its great in a pinch. I have a friend in Montreal who only gets to see the race on his computer because he doesn't get it up there...and so I have both on and we chat about it in the process.... It seems to be very important. People ask about it every freaking day. But I have a big screen TV and a relatively small screen computer. Please help me; I'm so confused. : ) Watching races is alot better on a 20 inch computer screen than a 50 inch high definition tv I guess (Sarcasm). I would prefer watching races on tv's myself, but most of those questions come from trolls who want to watch races on a small computer screen. You wouldn't I wouldn't, only those geeks that continue to ask that stupid question think we want to. They are like Pop ups, they are so annoying you would never want anything they send. Well ... since this is a legitimate question then I'll give you a legitimate answer. Some of the races comes on SPEED, TNT, and ESPN ... all of which are channels that you have to pay for. They are channels that aren't broadcast over antenna. Some people also have access to their computers at work and would like to watch the NASCAR "race games" (LOL) while they are at work. Also even though I have a 40 inch screen TV .... my flat screen computer monitor seems larger on my living room table because it's closer. With today's technology it may be more suitable to have a TV tuner card in your personal computer and record the "race games" directly to the hard drive for easy access later on and for editing purposes. Maybe a person would like to save a NASCAR moment to YouTube.

Carl Edwards won this race and the following two last year...I am thinking he wants to do a repeat. My guess is Carl. He will be fighting hard for it. 48 lowes You guys who think that johnson or gordon r all pretty funny. those losers couldnt run up front there for there life. It will be truex or stewart. I say anyone who was running up front in the June race will be running up front this weekend. Johnson, Biffle, Martin, and also Carl Edwards. Kenseth, Biffle, Stewart, Shrub Tony, Jimmie, Mark Martin, Carl, Denny, Kyle. Carl wins. It's an American Sport. when they start speaking english people always crack me up with that 'nascar is an american sport rant'. an infusion of money from toyota is what is keeping a lot of teams going. i think i've seen sony and panasonic a time or two on the quarterpanel of cars but just like everywhere else, japan is also feeling the strain under the current economic conditions. the koreans (more of those pesky asian people) aren't involved yet in nascar with a vehicle brand but they do or have sponsored the texas 500 in texas...texas of all places. did anyone refuse to go because a south korean company was sponsoring the event? i'm pretty sure if hello kitty approached jack rousch about sponsoring the 26 car next year, jack would put that animated cat on the hood right now and move it over to yates. no one is keeping the japanese out. it's tough times for everyone. It only seem right that a Japanese company should be able to sponsor a team using a Japanese car (Toyota). Hopefully theyll keep nascar were it started, america, no offense to any one Ummm when it all goes Japanese. ie(Mitsubishi, Mazda, Toyota, and Suzuki) Nascar is an american sport therfore,Toyotas dont belong. I figure whenever a Japanese company wants to put up the money to sponsor a car, then they will. Lets look at some that ring bells with the American consumer: Fuji Film, Kenwood Electronics, Makita, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pioneer, Pilot Pen, Sanyo, Sega, Sony, Toshiba, Uniden. No grilling, I will be traveling this weekend to Lawton, OK. But I will get to see the race on Sunday on the TUBE Daytona was Awesome.. ( zero 400 ) my 1st race.. NASCAR in person is better than golf on TV Have a great time at the race, I'll be watching in front of the big screens at my place. Yes we will be grilling, theres always Shrimp on my grill, saw Mexican Grouper on sale at the local fish market this weekend so I know that will be on the grill, probably some corn on the cob as well and veggies..Steffy from Y/A will be there also... Have fun!!

Stewart Haas Racing! Wooo-Hoooo!!!! I will be there. Not infield but at MIS on Sunday. If you have never been infield you are in for one helluva party :) I have done that more times that I can count. Saturday night will be the biggest party of the weekend it's like a backyard BBQ party except with 20,000 folks invited. Awesome time.
Sunday morning we leave early and stop for breakfast on the way and will be getting to MIS by 8:00am, cracking a nice cold beer by 9:00 and cheers-ing with all our neighbors. Oohhhh noooo to grilling we save our tailgate till after the race while waiting for the parking lots to clear out. It's going to be 90 degrees on Sunday so nobody is going to want to stand over a grill. Instead we are bringing cold cut subs, salads, dips, chips that sort of stuff. Oh and all the beverages we will possibly need before, during and after the race :)

YOU have fun!!! Im not going to be there but will be watching on the tube. I doubt I will be grilling this weekend, its going to be around 100 degree's here so it will be take out or some good ol Mrs Superdave cooking. Not me but I will be grilling at the lakes. Probably chops and burgers and also shrimp for some of us. Don't forget to put lots of garlic on those shrimp!! Have a Great Time, I will not be there, but I will be watching and grilling.. I will not be going to a race at MIS this year, but soon since I have relatives in that area.

Not sure if I will be grilling during the race this week, but when I do break out the grill for raceday you can be sure that brats are involved. I'll be there. Please get out your crystal balls provided to you at the beginning of the nascar season and look deep into them. Who will the 12 drivers be that make the 09 chase? I think the lineup as it is now is pretty much what we'll see come New Hampshire, with the possible exception on Kyle Busch. If he makes it, I think either Matt Kenseth or Ryan Newman will fall out. That question just screams Kyle Busch

I'm glad to see Tony running so well, and glad that he is having such a fun time doing it. I held out hope that he would be in Chase contention this year, but will admit that I didn't realize he would be doing This well. It says a lot about him to be doing so well this year. ^^Amen to the young man above me^^The fan that I share my life with is the best. She went with Tony after Rusty retired in 2005 and has been a die-hard fan ever since. I didn't think he would be this successful this early but what do I know.

Tony Stewart could be running on foot and still be in the top 35 in points...wait, he would be in the top 35 in points doing anything EXCEPT running on foot. Stewart fans are very cool! I figured Tony would start slow and be good by the end of the year. It just takes time to adjust to a whole new team and ownership.
I'm glad he proved me and everybody else wrong. Tony Stewart fans rock!!!!!!
I said he was committing career suicide....until he announced he was partnering with Haas. That was a sigh of relief. Theres 4 of them in our little Nascar group that gathers at my place for the races, yep they are cool 2 of them are surprised by his success this yr, the other 2 are just happy he is winning and going for his 3 championship, unless Nascar finds a way to screw him and give it to Jimmie J. I'm happy happy he is back in a Chevy where he belongs..He is one of my top 5 favorites, and I'm super happy about his success.

So many people thought he was crazy to leave JGR and become an owner/driver.

i personally love jeff gordon everyone says hes gay yall dont have any proof!how would yall feel if someone turned everyone against you and started calling you gay GET OVER YOURSELVES just because hes awesome dont hate.treat ppl the way u wanna be treated and btw hes my favorite nascar driver but i dont understand how so many ppl could hate him I'll admit I didn't care for him at first, but the more I followed NASCAR the more I realized he doesn't really bother me. He's not my favorite, but I don't dislike him either.
He's good at what he does, seems to have a good attitude, and he is on the same team as two of my favorite drivers.
At the races I hear cheering mixed with booing during his introduction. But each year the boos seem to be decreasing. don't know but i think he's cool. i think all drivers are cool though! rock on jeff! I just chose to hate him in 01. Ward was the guy I wanted to win, Gordon was the guy I said, "BOOOO!" I don't hate him! I used to dislike him, and I'd still rather not see him win unless he's battling Stewart or Johnson, but I don't dislike him nearly as much as I used to. I never wanted him to get hurt, I never want any driver to get hurt, no matter how much they irk me. I hope Jeff recovers from his back issues.

When people looked at NASCAR in the old days they know the old way a driver came up and that was to earn his way by driving for different people and the results would earn them a big time ride. Jeff was given a chance at such a young age in top level machinery. Jeff served as an inspiration for young children to pursue racing dreams. Many don't really appreciate those young guys coming in with a lot of talent but they didn't have the seattime. With Jeff it's mostly because of the way he came into NASCAR. because "everyone" has hurt feelings oh please. people hate him cause he has 4 champions and alot of wins. He doesnt whine like kyle Hi, I'm a jeff gordon fan. He's one of the best drivers of all time!! hes whines like a girl

I've grown up alot since then and for the life of me I wish I would've been a Jeff Gordon fan sooner. I'm in my "zone" when the whole world hates my driver :) he became hated because of dale sr. so now that dale sr calls him gay every dale sr and jr fan don't like him. i don't like gordon but he is a good driver. plus its the way fans are too because you have one driver and you are all about that guy and nobody else HES THE BEST DRIVER EVER.HE IS MARRIED AND HAS A DAUGTER.HE ALSO IS THE ALL TIME MONEY LEADER IN NASCAR.PEOPLE'S JEALOUSY DOESN'T AFFECT HIM.THE EARNHARDTS CANT HOLD A TORCH TO HIM,HE HAS ALREADY DONE MORE THAN THEM COMBINED IN A MUCH SHORTER TIME.HAVE YOU EVER SEEN DALE JR. Well now you did it, the "Is xxxx gay" questions are gonna start again because he's a better driver than Earnhardt. He's my fav I don't hate Jeff Gordon but I have a problem with the fact that he doesn't say that Vallejo, California is his hometown except at Infineon. And what's with the "he's gay" thing? Don't say that because it's not true. I am a hardcore Jeff Gordon fan and have been since he started racing in NASCAR, but I have a perspective on why people don't like him. My guess is that people hate him for the same reason people hate Kyle Busch. He started winning when he was young, and I do remember him whining a lot when he started racing like Kyle Busch does now. Plus Gordon started racing in the Dale Earnhardt era, so since everyone loved Earnhardt, people hated seeing Jeff take some of his wins.
This is my best guess on the subject, hopefully it helps. When Gordon first came into NASCAR, most people hated him because he wasn't a good ole southern boy, he was from California and he was kicking everybody's butt. A lot of Dale Jr fans hated Gordon but now that they're on the same team you don't see a lot of that anymore. I don't think a whole lot of people hate Gordon now. Now, the cool drivers to hate on are Kyle Busch and Dale Jr. He's too much of a whiner. I was an avid Eranhardt hater, then when Old Ironhead had his long dry spell I started hating Gordon for his wins. I was actually glad to see Earnhardt win a race or two after that. Anybody but Gordon!

Gordon I think a lot of people were jealous because he started winning so early in his career. I don't think it helped with a lot of people that he did not come from the "right" place- the South. And a lot of them don't seem to like that he doesn't have the personality that he causes trouble with people. Some people are bothered by a genuinely nice man who has a happy family, does a lot of children's charity work and talks openly about his Christianity. If those are bad things, I guess I like bad people. Last but not least, I have always liked Jeff Gordon as that is my dad's favourite. BTW- he was one of Kasey's influences coming up, too. My dear, try being a Kyle Busch or Dale Earnhardt Jr fan! :-)
I used to seriously dislike Jeff only because my husband and his best friend were (are) huge Jeff Gordon fans. Back then Dale Sr was alive and racing and I was (am) a huge Dale Earnhardt fan. Jeff was doing great and winning championships and I had to put up with their crap every dang weekend! :-) I learned to hate Jeff Gordon. I always thought he was Mr Perfect; a new aged, politically correct, sponsor God who always smiled and never had an ounce of personality. But.......
Then I was at Bristol the spring race when Matt Kenseth wrecked him. And Jeff went after Matt after the race. You should have heard the crowd go crazy! The same 160,000 people who had booed him at driver introductions just loved it! He showed some passion for once, and little bit of temper. I loved it too! Jeff Gordon was finally human. And I actually like him now.

Usually it is replayed on Wewdnesday on Speed check out espn 2 they usually have an encore of the race around 9 eastern other than that its on speed on wednesday at noon eastern Yeah, I missed it too. I bet Carl Edwards gets the pole, but loeses the lead after the first restart on lap 7 (debris caution). We get a long run after the lap 7 restart that encompasses two green flag pit stops by all drivers. The race stays green until a two car crash triggered by Greg Biffle on lap 342 spins Ryan Newman into the inside wall. This leaves just 3 cars on the lead lap, Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, and Kurt Busch. Jamie McMurry gets the free pass. Carnage ensues on the next restart as the back 3/4's of the feild piles into turn 3. A three wide situation between Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, and Martin Truex jr (all 1 lap down running 7-9) doesn't work, and they leave a cloud of smoke for everyone to attempt to negotiate. The worst damage is to David Stremme, Matt Kenseth, Brian Vickers, Joey Logano, John Andretti, and Jimmie Johnson.Kyle Busch gets the free pass, and due to the crash, only 3 cars remain a lap down, Tony Stewart, Denny Hamlin, and Clint Bowyer. After a 28 minute red flag the race gets back underway at lap 351 and Kasey Kahne gets a solid start, Kyle Busch is on his bumper by another multi car crash on lap 365. This time Sterling Marlin was tapped from behind off turn four by Kevin Harvick. The wreck collected Robby Gordon, Sam Hornish Jr, and Casey Mears. Harvick and Scott Speed both get flat tires and slight damage. Denny Hamlin gets the free pass. By the restart on lap 378 all the leaders have pitted to avoid debris causing tire problams. Kasey Kahne choses the outside lane for the first time, and is able to hold off Kyle Busch. But by lap 415 Kyle is back on his inside, and makes it work by lap 417. He begins to check out. Denny Hamlin is up to 4th after passing McMurry and Kurt Busch, he is now in lapped traffic and can't see Carl Edwards who is in 3rd. Tony Stewart is now in lucky dog position in 7th, but Kyle is closing in on McMurry and Kurt who are raceing side by side. by lap 432 Kyle is boxed in behind McMurry and Kurt Busch batteling. Kasey Kahne closes back in on the 18. Busch bumps the 26 into the 2 as they exit turn 2. Kyle is able to stay ahead of Kasey Kahne, but Kahne is now only 4 car lengths back. Kurt Busch pits for a flat tire after contact with Jamie McMurry, who is now in lucky dog position in 5th. Hamlin gets around the 99 on lap 451 and Kyle has opened a lead of almost a full staightaway on Kasey Kahne. Hamlin is a half a lap behind. Now with no traffic Hamlin begins making consistent laps, Kyle is trying to put the #14 a second lap down, and is having a hard time. on lap 454 Kyle pits for four tires and Denny pits on the backstretch of the same lap. Kahne pits next time by, but has contact with Marcos Ambrose in the pits, then has to stop as David Ragan pulls out right in front of him. After the cycle of stops, Kurt Busch is back on the lead lap, and has enough fuel to make it to the end, but Kyle is gaining on him again to put him back a lap down. Denny now sits just infront of Kahne on the track, being held up by Juan Montoya and Mark Martin, who are two laps down battleing for 10th. Once clear of Martin and Montoya, Hamlin pulls away from Kahne, and is now one straightaway behind teammate Busch with 35 laps to go. Clint Bowyer (running 8th) gets a flat tire, and limps around the top of the track until he can get down and bail to pit road. This ends his chase chances after his Michigan 28th place finish. No caution. With 20 laps to go, Stewart goes 2 laps down and Kurt Busch goes a lap down once again. But they both give Kyle more troble than Denny. With 9 laps to go, Denny catches Kyle just as they run up on Kasey Kahne who has gone tight after the pit road contact with the 47. Kahne pulls out of the way. As the two leaders run up on other cars, the lapped cars move out of the way. With 5 laps to go, Hamlin gets to the bottom of Busch. By 3 laps to go Hamlin is getting to his door in the corners. with two to go, Hamlin cuts busch off leaving turn 4, Busch pushes Hamlin into turn 1 to show his displeasure. On the final lap, Hamlin gaps him by a car length to win.

Newman now sits 12th, just 7 points ahead of Kenseth. the top 13 in points now have a 231 point gap over 14th place David Ruetimann, meaning it will be a battle between the top 13 for 12 spots. Clint Bowyers flat drops him to 21st place, 4 laps down after running 8th most of the night.
Scott Speed's solid 17th place finish combined with John Andretti's 40th place finish puts Speed only 68 points out of the top 35.
So I guess 4 cautions, 4 leaders, 6 lead changes. Hope you enjoyed that! who qualifies on the pole?
what predictions to you have for the race like cautions leaders and winner...all that hard to say what is going to happen in 2 weeks.. but i for see about 10 cautions 6 of them caused by Robbie Gordon..

there has got to be some other reason. ...or at least cut a deal like in college football where the networks pay the cost for temporary lighting. I would think just for the ratings and keeping sponsors happy on Sunday compared to Monday that it would be worth it. Im sry you don't want to hear that it costs too much, but that simply just might be the reason. Another reason is probably because they schedule the races for the day and don't anticipate it going into the night, and since lights arent needed during the day, they dont put them in. It's not absolutely necessary to get a race in on the scheduled day. It can always be run the following day. As long as that is an option, there is no reason to put lights on a track because it might rain on race day every now and then. that is a good idea Sure it would be cool, 'Dega doesn't have lights it would be a blast running at that track under the lights. But at 'Dega they say its the cost. But I do think all tracks should have lights but then I love night racing.

not in an extended race, the Veyron's lack of fuel efficiency would do it in, but in a straight drag race, could it beat one of the top cars in NASCAR, assuming it has a top notch driver? The Bugatti would beat a NASCAR but not an NHRA Veyron - 1001bhp - 4160lb

Veyron would win, on a strip, oval or road course no contest. With the bristol gears the cup car would get a close 2nd.But you dont take a cup car to a dragrace. A NASCAR race car is not designed to take off from a dead-stop like on a drag strip. That's why they don't try to do the sitting start at Indy, they'd probably destroy the drive train. I'm not too familiar with the Veyron, so I couldn't tell you what would happen if they tried to drag race.
Upon further investigation on Wikipedia, the Veyron is the superior car. The idea is not to put the answer in the question.
Could a NASCAR beat a veyron on a lap round the Nurburgring? The only place a Nascar Cup car shines is turning left. The Veyron will kill a Cup car in a straight line and on a road course. As far as fuel efficiency goes, a Cup car gets about 5 to 6 mpg on a good day, so that won't hamper the Veyron at all. Top speed on a Veyron is limited to around 250 or so. Fastest speed I've heard about is around 240 for a Cup car at Talladega, but I'm sure it can go faster with different gearing. As far as race cars go, a Cup car has some of the narrowest slick racing tires you can find in the top levels of motorsports. It might level the playing field a bit if the Cup car can be fitted with a better tire/rim combination and maybe a 6 speed gearbox.

sometime back i too was like you...i wanted to get into national formula racing..but didint know how....the races in my country take place some 1500kms from my place...i searched the internet for information..but something reliable didnt come in my hand.
So i went there during a race day, i roamed about there..couldnt get whome to ask my queries...finally i got to have an chat with an member of organising comitee and he gave me his contact details and guded me to how things work and how to go about it.Now am Racing at nationals in formula category...and now am capable enough to guide guys into it.
You too should i think go to the place wher drag racing takes place and talk to people...thats the best way of getting info. I've seen some drag racing on tv shows such as Pinks- All Out and heard some about it and even researched a little bit, but I'm still not entirely sure how a lot of it works. I think that it looks like something I would like to try and get involved with, and I want to do it all legally and stuff at a formal track and such, but I've never been to a race and don't really know how drag racing operates. I'd kinda like to buy a used car to try racing with that wouldn't cost me a whole lot but would still work well for my purposes, but don't really know what kind would be best and what kind of requirements it would need to follow the rules at a drag track. And once i got it would i need to modify it with anything, and if so, what? Any help and information from people who drag race as a hobby or have been to drag tracks and are knowlegable about the subject is greatly appreciated!real estate and long island
