IRL race tonight 3 gals driving who will finish better?

May be...

  • If Danica stays out of trouble yes she will
i hope Fisher does well she deserves a decent sponsorship deal
as for Duno to me she is highly overrated
  • I think that Sarah will do better than Milka, if she can stay out of trouble
  • Danica should have a decent finish, Sarah's a good driver but lacks the budget to field a competitive car. As for Milka she'll stay out of trouble but won't be a factor.
  • Sarah Fisher or Milka Duno? Yes Danica is driving but she is in far superior equipment, she'll have a decent finish anyway... I hope Sarah can pull off a top 10 finish.. What do you think?
  • Danica is almost always in the top 7. Sarah is a decent driver but behind in the car setup and money side of things. Milka is just this side of being dangerous on the race track.
  • Danica like always
  • D.Patrick 1
    S Fisher. 2
    M.Duno. 3ms golf tournament canada
  • For all of you who don't appreciate the driver of the #18...?

    May be...

  • Non-afr. american. wtf? how does that have anything to do with the question? You must have an Iq like a rock
  • well yes i would..........thanx for asking
  • Non-African American Republican needs to do a little bit more research before making his assumptions. Plenty of people don't like the #18, and it isn't just JR Nation.

I'll be watching Pocono to see whether he bounces back or falls further in the standings, just like every other race. I'm not as obsessed about him failing as a lot of the Junior bashers on here that always need to find something wrong with the #88.
  • That's what I've been doing for the past few races..
  • Even if he does get in the chase, he has no chance.

    Tickets: 150
    Souvenirs: 100
    Camping: 200
    18 in the wall: PRICELESS!
  • Oh, I 'appreciate' the driver of the #18 car, he is most entertaining whether he wins or loses! LOL And I don't want to see anyone slip in points...one of my drivers is on top right now (Go, Tony!), and the other is barely keeping his head above water for the Chase (that's my boy, Clint). But yeah, Kyle, he's entertaining and interesting whether you love him or hate him :)
  • It's hard to appreciate a whining jerk. Not if, we have a pool for which lap.

Come on kyle, KISS THE WALL!
  • I will be watching him to see if he fights his way back into the top 12. Thats what I want to see. Good old fashion desire to suceed.
  • Will you be more attracted to watch his performance at Pocono, to see if he will slip lower in the points standing?
  • i like watching him. he cracks me up. plus he puts his car in between two cars when there is only room for half a car. kid can drive. i think he will be cool to watch at pocono he is right out of 12th in the points so he is going ot be trying real hard. pocono is not his best track but that wont stop kyle. should be real interesting there.
  • The only people who are #18 haters are from JR nation, they fail to understand Racing ... and as you and I well Know ,they are fair weather fans . JR is a good guy but the fans he has have the IQ of a rock... KB is the top driver for the new car ..you can't hate someone with so much push to win , some people just have bad days.. JR nation just do not have a clue about NASCAR ,,, or what goes into the details of the Race..the JR fans don't even know the #'s and drivers of the Cars ..they recieve they Intel from that idiot movie Talladega Nights ,and that other Comedy ...Days of Thunder..
  • Go KY Bush!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I actually like him, he is a great driver, very entertaining...I chalk his behavior up to being young and hungry to win, he is good, has no fear, has had a lot of luck as well. He has all of Nascar talking about him, he is making himself known. I think he likes the "Bad Boy" image he has, and will Mature into a really good driver. No he is not my Favorite driver, but I do respect his ability to drive.
  • why? hes the least of my concerns.
  • Non-African American Republican
i am a jr fan and i can name almost every driver and car # in present sprint cup series
i know that we do a little smack talking about each others favorite driver
but i know we all need a laugh every now and then
  • He is a great driver. He just has trouble getting his head into a helmut!!!angers 49
  • Where can I watch old stale streaming reruns on a public pc at the library?

    May be...

  • the internet at the library.
  • lmao....i dare you to go in to the library and ask that. that would be a funny. the #1 annoying question.
  • At a public library, you can watch old stale streaming re-runs on a pcspecfically

Is Nascar rigged? Jimmy Johnson is a good driver, but not good enough to win races like he does.?

    May be...

  • No it's not rigged. you have a great driver and a greater team! Chad and Jimmie gel like no one else. (Gator is right) not to mention he drives for the greatest motorsports team in the cup series.
  • Why would Nascar be rigged? I guess you are talking about last weeks race. Why would Nascar cheat Juan Montoya out of a win? If Montoya would have won last week, it would have been huge for Nascar. Montoya could have been the first driver to win the Brickyard 400 and the Indy 500. Not only is JimmIE Johnson a great driver, but he has the best team and crew chief.
  • He has four things going for him:
He's a fine driver. He's a consistent driver. He's a lucky driver. And of course, there's always his ace-in-the-hole; Chad Knaus (arguably the best current crew chief in Cup, maybe the whole of NASCAR).

Now this isn't so easy. Rigged? Totally fixed? No. However, it used to be - and I think still occurs occasionally - that yellows for "debris" are sometimes suspect. Same-o with speeding on pit road violations. Same with timing for throwing yellows. You can't prove it, but in the last 25 years I've seen a lot of questionable calls - from the outside as a fan, and from the inside as a NASCAR contractor.

If there is an edge given to anyone, it's done in a way so as not to be very noticeable or obvious. Of course you must factor in my bias. I've seen them from the inside and much of what I saw, I didn't like. Then again, I've been out of the game for over 10 years.
  • why would you ask such a thing. Do you watch nascar racing? Not only is he that good he is also that lucky. You have to have lady luck on your side in nascar...
  • Jimmie Johnson is excellent. No, it is not rigged. Jimmie and his crew Chad Knaus work together day in and out as a team. Chad is a workaholic, and works on that race car all week, and staying up all night before race day, looking @ notes from other races, setups, etc.
If you do your homework, and are giving it 110% why shouldnt he win.
  • No, it's not rigged. Mr. Johnson is apparently a great driver; got those multiple championships going for him and whatnot. And his name is JimmIE.
  • No rigging in NASCAR.
  • Do you actually watch the races? Jimmie is phenomenal and deserves every win him, Chad & the #48 team pull out.
  • No nascar is not rigged .
  • How can they "rig" a car from not getting a flat tire?
They can't, it would be impossible
How could you get human beings to choreograph a race at 200 m.p.h. and choreograph a crash?
They can't, it would be impossible
  • it is rigged. thats why dale jr wins so many races.
  • I am curious why you think Johnson is not good enough to win races. The evidence points to him being one of the best Nascar has ever seen. Knaus also deserves a ton of the credit. Chad knows how to make the 48 car fast when it counts.
If Nascar was rigged, I'm pretty sure they'd let Dale Jr win a few races every season.
  • That brings up a good point. How many times has the 48 team been penalized for cheating? Chad Knaus has been suspended for cheating also when Darien Grubb stepped in and had to be the interim crew chief while Knaus was suspended? who checks into that?
  • absoulutly not, if nascar was rigged there would not be as many fans
  • Jimmie Is a great driver, his pit crew chief (Chad Knaus) is a genius and the 2 of them have gelled like no other team in NASCAR!
  • Jimmie Johnson is a great and possibly the most underrated driver. If NASCAR was rigged, Dale Jr would have won more than 1 race in the last 3 1/2 years.
  • NASCAR is not rigged. Jimmie just has a really good crew and crew chief. Not to mention they all perform well under pressure.
  • By the success Jimmy has had I can see where many many people would think the way you do. However being an old racer my self I have to say NO, nascar is not rigged. Is everything completly above board, NO. But as far as the 48 team winning those races it isn`t just Jimmy. Granted Johnson is an excellent wheel man, but just being a wheel man is not enough, you need the whole package and that is exactly what they have achieved. You might say the stars have aligned for this particulr Hindrix team. An excellent crew chief, an excellent driver an excellent team, and millions of Lowe`s dollars in sponsership. Plus if you notice the always play it safe in the points department in the ladder half of the seasons when the other teams are getting frustrated and running low on stamina. But, this is the year of de throning for old Jimmy Johnson. If you have not noticed, then start watching the 14 of Mr Smoke. He has come out playing the same game as the 48 team plays only he got off to an early start and is going to be very hard to beat. My money is all on the 14 team this year for winning the championship.

  • Which Nascar Drivers sell the most merchandise? Give top 5..?

    May be...

  • 24 Jeff Gordon
    #88 Dale Jr.
    #48 Jimmie Johnson
    #14 Tony Stewart
    #18 Kyle Busch
  • I believe it's Dale Earnhardt, Jr; Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch. That's the order NASCAR.com has them when you shop by driver.
  • stewart
    jr.
    gordon
    johnson
    sr.
  • I've got a brother who owns a NASCAR merchandise store in Southern Michigan, and I know the top 5 sellers there are:

    1. Tony Stewart
    2. Dale Earnhardt Jr.
    3. Jimmie Johnson
    4. Kasey Kahne
    5. Dale Earnhardt Sr.

Thats for 2009. I guess Stewart was in 3rd last year but I'm assuming the sudden jump in merchandise was because of the number and sponsor change.
  • 1. Dale Earnhardt Jr.
    2. Tony Stewart
    3. Jeff Gordon
    4. Kasey Kahne
    5. Carl Edwards
These are the drivers on hats and shirts most often around here, so that is how I picked them. They also tend to carry more things from these drivers at the racing store in the area.
  • Top 5..... here's my list:

    Dale Earnhardt Jr.
    Kyle Busch
    Tony Stewart
    Dale Earnhardt Sr.
    Jeff Gordon
  • jr, jeff gordon. tony stewart, kasey and jimmie...oh and digger (ha ha had to put him in)
  • I don't have the exact list but I would guess it goes like this:
    1. Dale Jr.
    2. Tony Stewart
    3. Jeff Gordon
    4. Jimmie Johnson
    5. Dale Sr.
  • ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
    Winter Glory is right.
  • Based on the 3 races I have been to this year, the largest crowds at the merchandis trailers were.

    1. Stewart
    2. Martin
    3. Ky. Busch
    4. Jr
    5. Johnson

A lot of Jr fans I know have said they wont buy till they see better performance.
  • Dale Jr.
    Jeff Gordon
    Tony Stewart
    Jimmie Johnson
Dale Earnhardt Sr. (even tho' he is deceased, his merchandise is still very popular.)

    Stewart Haas Racing!!!!
  • This year, I'm guessing Tony's at the top. With the change of cars, sponsors, everything, people are replacing their Home Depot gear, with new Old Spice and Office Depot gear.. I know that's what I'm doing this year haha.

Next would probably be Jr. just because he's Jr.. He has such a loyal fan base, that regardless of how poor he may finish, will continue to shell out money to support him.

Johnson would be my next guess, he's looking at a shot of a fourth championship in a row coming up. The new NASCAR fans see the talent he has, and continued wins, and jump on his band wagon, buying his merchandise.

Dale Sr. probably sells around the 4th, even though he's passed. He has a loyal fan base, who credit him as the reason NASCAR has the popularity it does now.

Jeff's 5th in my book, he hasn't done well recently, and hasn't had any real jump of popularity. He has a big name, and is a great driver, which is why I think he still sells a lot of merchandise, but other than that he's becoming out dated.
  • Dale JR, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Kasy Kahne, Tony Stewart
  • Not sure overall..but on NASCAR.com Superstore the top 5 are as follows:

    14
    88
    24
    48
    18
  • I can Never find too many # 18 stuff
  • Dale Jr ,Tony Stewart,Jeff Gorden,Jimmy Jonson,Dale Sr
  • 1&2.Dale Sr.&Jr 3.Jimmie johnson 4.Jeff gordan 5.Carl Edwards My reason is because they are the most popular drivers so it would make since they are top sellersfiberglass car interiors

  • Will the current sprint cup drivers find it easier to drive the new nationwide car in 2010?

    May be...

  • Maybe though it will screw their feel of it in the Cup series...new adjustments need to be done to get acclimated.

Though good thing is, new Nationwide Car is not til summer 2010 Daytona race.

embrace the old car while they can.
  • i was reading a post yesterday about the new nationwide car and I thought maybe the current sprint cup drivers may find it easier to get use to the nationwide car.
    Thoughts???
  • The new Nationwide car isn't going to be like the current Sprint cars. Of course, I would imagine they will transition fairly easily, just because they have so much racing experience. Then again, look what a nightmare the transition was in Sprint for Jeff Gordon. I suppose it will really depend on the individual and how set he is in his ways.glock full auto kits

  • What nascar driver has the most supportive family/wife/girlfriend?

    May be...

  • I agree with you. Delana is a doll and I love that she is so into it she isn't one of those gals that gets all gussied up and comes out of the motor home for the beginning and end of the race. She is decked out in her own fire suit and cap she sits on the pit box every race, every series. That girl is 100% with Kevin. They are an adorable couple. I also think Jeff Burton's wife Kim deserves a nod she is on that pit box all the time too.
  • Definitely Carl Edwards' wife that Big Blonde Lady? Wait that's his MOM!
  • yes id have to agree with u maybe thats why he's happy
  • I thik as far as wifes fo Delana Harvick has them all beat, as far as family I think it's a toss up between Carl Edwards mom and Joey Logano's family
  • Delana Harvick and Kim Burton

    Go Dale Jr
  • I'd go with my favourite driver, Kasey Kahne. Much of his family moved out from Washington with him, and they all work for him. His sister, Shanon, runs the Kasey Kahne Foundation; his mother, Tammy, runs his store; his brother, Kale, and cousins, Willie and Kole, work on his cars. That isn't to say that Delana Harvick is not also very supportive, but she is only one person as opposed to an entire family.
  • I agree with you. I don't know them all personally, but Delana appears to be very involved in Kevin Harvick Inc. (the truck team).
  • i think they all have good support but i think delana harvick is real supportive. i think she may run kevins truck team.

    thoughts????
  • Right now.

    Jeremy mayfeild's wife, Shana.
  • I agree that Delana is a good support for Kevin. But on who has the most supportive family/wife/girlfriend........that's a tough call. There seem to be more than a few really supportive wives: Katie Kenseth, Krissy Newman, Ingrid Gordon........too many to name.
  • Jimmy Johnson
  • I agree with most that say Delana Harvick.

    H E N D R I C K~M O T O R S P O R T S~R U L E S ! ! ! ! ! !
  • Tony Stewart's pit lizards
  • Have to say Kim Burton Jeff's wife.
  • ITS NOT EVEN CLOSE......JEFF BURTONS WIFE.......how to make a gate latch
  • Was Sébastien Bourdais or Jacques Villeneuve ever on the short list as Massa's temporary driver?

    May be...

  • I might be wrong, but I doubt we'll ever see Bourdais in F1 again. I know we'll never see Villeneuve in F1 again. Not much call for an F1 driver near 40 years old, especially one who hasn't driven in years.
  • I have to agree with Matt, - why would you even contemplate Bourdais if you have the chance of Schumi?...it is a total no brainer - even had Bourdais covered himself with more glory than he has to date.

And as as for the testing benefits, Schumi has been on board as an advisor since his retirement from competing & so he can do just as much ( & more) than any of the other "possible" contenders to aid development of the car for the remainder of the season.

The other reason I think Schumi was first choice is his relationship with Felipe - he is Felipe's mentor & very close friend & I am willing to bet Felipe will be pleased to have his seat covered by Michael, knowing it is done with the best intent & with no hidden agenda about ousting Felipe permanently.
  • I imagine Bourdais couldve been the last name on the list but Ferrari wouldve likely given the ride to Gene or Badeor before Bourdais.

And i doubt Villenueve was considered. Too far removed from F1 action compared to other possible drivers.
  • In Budapest you are not allowed to put a replacement driver in after qualifying, apart from a few exceptions. That's why the No.3 car didn't leave the garage. Also, it would have been a pretty tall order rebuilding that car and having it set up to work well for the race, even if they had been allowed to try.

Well, I don't see why they ever would have considered Bourdais or Villeneuve when they knew they could talk the 7x world champion around. They knew as well as we did that he wanted to get back into an F1 car, and he jumped at the chance.
I reckon after MS Badoer then Gene, their TDs were on the list.
  • I think the short list was as short as possible, with the only name being Schu. The rules prevented Ferrari from being another driver in place of Massa at the Hungaroring.

Bourdais should have been considered, as Gene and Badoer should have. I don't think Schumacher will go very well and no championships are at stake. Bourdais has driven the current cars and is a capable development driver. The test drivers could also learn from driving the car in race trim and apply that to their test work.
  • We will never know the "official" short list, but I strongly suspect that the list never had more than one name on it.

It will be interesting to see if there is the same lack of consistency on the rules now as there was during MS's heyday (swerving across the track at the start of the race, etc.)
  • Both of these guys had experience driving Ferrari engines and could have filled in for the rest of the season if Shumacher had not stepped up. I'm not saying they would be the best choices, but am wondering if they were ever considered? Or their test drivers?

And why doesn't didn't Ferrari use any of their their test drivers to put a car out in the last race?
  • To understand who Ferrari might of considered, you need to consider what their requirements are. First, they have said they are not continuing to develop the 2009 car, so while bringing in a driver that can provide feedback for the future is good, it's not essential. Add to that that the reason they are not continuing to develop the car is because they are out of it, so while good driver capable of doing everything with the car is nice, it's not a requirement. Second, since they are developing the 2010 car, they most likely do not want to bring in a driver that is outside of the Ferrari family or might be with a competitor next year.

So, that leaves a list that probably was Schumacher followed by Gene. Someone might of mentioned other names, but I doubt any were or would've been considered given where Ferrari is at the moment.

Having experience "driving Ferrari engines" would hardly be much of an advantage, and certainly wouldn't have elevated a driver any in their view. Bourdais could've been a remote possibility, and I would've been interested in seeing him in a decent car that had KERS just to see what he might do. Villeneuve... well, given his total lack of pace when last he drove and an feelings between he and Schumacher (who even wwhen not driving, is still a part of Ferrari), this would've never happened.

And as has been said, Massa was set as the driver in Hungry once he started qualifying. Any replacement would need to of been made prior to that according to the rules.singapore international airlines manila

  • I might be wrong, but I doubt we'll ever see Bourdais in F1 again. I know we'll never see Villeneuve in F1 again. Not much call for an F1 driver near 40 years old, especially one who hasn't driven in years.
  • I imagine Bourdais couldve been the last name on the list but Ferrari wouldve likely given the ride to Gene or Badeor before Bourdais.

And i doubt Villenueve was considered. Too far removed from F1 action compared to other possible drivers.

  • We will never know the "official" short list, but I strongly suspect that the list never had more than one name on it.

It will be interesting to see if there is the same lack of consistency on the rules now as there was during MS's heyday (swerving across the track at the start of the race, etc.)kid bedroom comforter

  • Least Favorite or Not, They are still a NASCAR driver! In my eyes that says enough! I would jump at the chance, without a second thought!

It's called DEDICATION TO YOUR SPORT!!!

    AND I AM A FAN!!!
  • To be completely honest, If Kyle Busch or Jimmie Johnson was broken down on the side of the highway, I would drive up in my mustang, yell out the window, "Should have chosen a ford," and tell them to hop in.
  • Hypothetically---You know it’s the nascar drivers hauler and everything is safe but its dark and you are driving by on the highway. They are on the side of the highway and something has happened that they can not fix with the hauler…do you
    help them?
Help them and then give them stipulations like taking you and family to race..
    or keep on driving.
Or stop look laugh and then drive.

  • I'd call 911, report the accident and move on.

NEVER stop by a "stranded" car late at night. That's how people get robbed, raped, or murdered.
  • Swerve and take them out?

lol, Nah I really wouldn't do that. I'd probably slam on the brakes causing a huge pile up behind me, then back up and pick the sorry sap up and do whatever he needed as long as I get an autograph
  • Pull over & help them. Ask in a respectful way for an autograph for my kid.
  • Stop and help them out...stick around for awhile...laugh and joke and see that all is well and they get unstuck or repaired whatever, wish them luck in the upcoming race and then move on. I am sure that any driver there would "compensate" with something though not necessary. Does anyone hate a driver enough to just pass by any NASCAR driver stuck on the side of the road???
  • i would offer a ride for him hay he is still a super star
  • Honestly, I would just pass him bye and wouldn't think anything of it.
  • I'd help out if I could.

    Why not, you know??

    Pay it forward....
  • You just offer them help. No strings attached. Sheesh!

You do it because you're a good and kind person and that's what good and kind people do. They help out others in need when they have the opportunity.
  • Well, I wouldn't be much help to anyone repairing a vehicle. But I'd offer to call for help if they hadn't already called. If my dad or Rob was with me, I'd offer Jr a ride to where he was going. Probably get an autograph so I could verify the story. But if I were alone, no way I'm letting a stranger in my car, famous or not.
  • Yell "Hey Jimmie! When Chad Knaus doesn't set up the car, you can't drive it can you? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" And drive away.

Just kidding. Really? If Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon was on the side of the road, I'd be like, "Dude, do you need a ride or a phone?" Only as I was driving away, I'd say, "Oh, yeah. I hate you on Sundays. Just to let you know." ;)
  • Yeah, but I wouldn't be much help. I'm not really that good with cars. It would just be a great opportunity to meet a NASCAR driver and try to get an autograph out of it.
  • I would help them.........
  • I would just help them with no strings attached. Whatever they needed if I could help or assist.
  • I would help out. I'm that kind of gal.
  • they do anything i ask and i would help them anytime
  • I would stand by the road and wave a yellow flag
  • Sure i would help them, I don't dislike any Driver so much that I would not help them if I could. I respect them all for what they do. It would be great to have a conversation with any driver, yes, some would be more exciting to meet, But YES I would help any driver.

and I guess you can deal me in too. I believe I would stop and offer what help I could, but by the same token ,if the nascar boys can't fix their rig, I'd just be in the way.
    But I'd stop anyway,
  • I would leave Mark Martin there....We are from the same hometown and I've met him & he wouldn't do it for anyone else, so why should I?
  • I'd stop and help any way possible, without stipulations. I wouldn't immediately invite him home for dinner, but you never know, tough situations tend to humble a person.bowling for columbine script
  • Why does most F1 seasons nowadays start in Australia?

    May be...

  • cause they summer is when it is are winter in the us
  • Partly because of the weather, partly because the F1 season tends to start and finish away from the European heartland for logistical reasons. The "fly-away" parts of the season have book-ended the championship since the 1950s, when travel was a lot more complicated than it is today. The Australian GP is so far away from anywhere else that it logically has to be the first or last race of the season to avoid unnecessary long journeys between races during the season.

As a previous poster said, the Australian GP was the season-ender when it was held in Adelaide from 1985-1995, and it was a great place to wrap up the year. The South African GP had earlier undergone the same conversion; it was the end-of-year world championship event held in December, and was followed by the non-Championship Rand GP after New Year. Those two races switched places, making the Rand GP a season-ending money-spinner and the South African GP the first race of the next World Championship season...that was also for logistical reasons.

I've never taken to the season starting in Australia and Brazil being near the end of the year...it seems the wrong way around to me!
  • They used to finish the season in Australia when the race was held in Adelaide. Then, in 1996, when Melbourne outbid Adelaide to host the race, the Australian GP was moved to the start of the season to avoid a clash with the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival (major horse racing event held between October/November).spousal trust

There's no need to download anything or signing up, just click on "sports" (bottom of the homepage), then "autoracing", then click on a certain channel which will display a little snapshot of the live stream they are showing. A couple channels are "NASCAR POWER", and" be new 2it". It's a great site. There's even a little chat section within the channel, which is real fun if you want to discuss racing with fellow fans.

  • Kyle Busch 80 some points out of 2nd?

    May be...

  • Given a few more races I'm not sure what to expect. Busch is wildly inconsistant (killing me in Fantasy RACING!). He like no other driver has an equal shot of dominating or finishing out of the top 30.

I love the talent and raw emotion, but as far as points go he will struggle to make the chase. Even if he does earn a chase bid he will quickly fall out of contention. He could win 5 races in the chase and still not win the title, its about consistancy, and at this point of his career he clearly doesn't have it on the cup side of things!
  • he can have 5 wins it don't matter 2 DNFS in the next few races and he wont b in the chase he has to make it first b 4 u put him at the top
  • Kyle if he don't make the Chase all those wins don't mean nearly as much as all those wrecks.
  • Right now Kyle has 3 wins, so really he is 80 some points behind 2nd. Instead of being on the borderline of 12th place, he is really on the border line of 14th and 2nd in points. If he barely gets in, he will move up to 2nd. If he wins this coming weekend, then he could be on the border of making the chase, and leading the chase. What are your thoughts on this. I just thought it was weird that technically Kyle is 80 some points out of the lead if he wins at Pocono, not 12th?
  • I am not exactly sure what you just said...but as long as he makes the chase I will be happy!!!
  • That is awesome, He needs to be in the Chase, He would bring alot of excitement to it. He is a great driver, I hope he makes the Chase.
  • Well that's great!
Maybe he will become the 2009 Sprint Cup Champion!
  • Let's just hope he remains consistent and hits the wall or blows a tire and is not in the chase at all.
  • no, sorry pal, but if the chase were to start today kyle busch would NOT be 80 some points out of 2nd, he'd be in 14th, a few THOUSAND points out of 12th, let alone 2nd.
  • You pretty much listed one of the reasons I don't like the chase.ebgames xbox360
  • Which track has better racing action Chicagoland or Kansas?

    May be...

  • they are both pretty much the same track, the track at Kansas is abit steeper than Chicago land, so i will say Kansas, besides that the Chase will be on when they get to Kansas.
  • Kansas.
  • I don't know. They're not that much different to me. They're both 1.5 mile cookie-cutter tri-oval tracks with nearly identical banking (Chicago is 18 degrees in the turns and Kansas is 15 degrees). Maybe Chicago by a little bit. I just think we need some more unique tracks on the Cup circuit.
  • Both are really good but I like Kansas better because its in the chase. Six more races until the chase. :)
  • I haven't really watched a Kansas race, but I like Kansas better in NASCAR 09
  • I enjoy them both the same. I don't think there is much difference.software to play ps2 games

What would be a good car to use in a demo derby?

    May be...

  • older 60's model "tank" V8...junker is better but has to have a heart of gold.
  • get a station wagon or somethin like that. the stiffer the back the better since that is what you ram people with. make sure to build a strong cage that will last lots of hits. good luck
  • I was just at a demo derby on saturday and from my observations i noticed that cars that were squared off did really well because it takes more force to smash them in. Dont buy a tiny car that is rounded off or anything. get a really ridged car.
  • i wanna get a cheep old 4 cyl. car and make it demo Derby ready. it will be my first time and i want to make sure i don't screw it up ;p so does anybody know of a good car from personal experience?
  • from experience i've won with a '95 Ford Tempo
but any vehicle that runs and moves well is good
set a budget on what you are willing to put into it
i've been racing for 22 years and don't have a preferance
and have run most catagories of vehicles
i would say your choices are buy something cheap
or spend extra and get something that runs well thats solid
to me it all depends on your mechanical ability
and just have funtreo virus protection
  • Who would win a fight between nascar drivers Tony stewart & juan P. Montoya?

    May be...

  • I'd give the edge to Montoya. The guy's ferocity makes up for his size, and didn't I read somewhere that he grew up in the Colombian ghetto (I could be wrong)?
  • It would probably be close but I think Smoke would be on top .

    H E N D R I C K~M O T O R S P O R T S~R U L E S ! ! ! ! !
  • I think that they would probably slap each other to death.......Like girls...
  • Probably Tony, juan pablito montoya broke his head when he just walked into the cameraman when he wasn't watching where he was going.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcGXT_7Dp… It would really depend on how Tony could handle an opponent that kicks and scratches like a girl.
  • Um, who cares?

This is the NASCAR section, not fantasy boxing.
  • Tony
  • I don,t like to see man fight i don,t like fights at all that is no way to handle things
  • Tony hands down. Montoya is another name for a vertical smile.
  • I would have to say Juan, Tony is a great driver, but a big teddy bear, he used to talk tough and have attitude, but deep down he is just a nice guy, Juan is newer to Nascar and needs to prove himself, and would fight harder.
  • tale of the tape im not sure but i believe tony is taller id have to say tony he'd catch him with an uppercut but juan would be quick though
  • I vote for Smoke ! But let me tell you something, there is some old TV footage out there of Tony getting in an after race fight, but he clearly waited until some other help came along before he started the fight !
  • not sure who would win but I know who would lose....anyone stupid enough to buy a ticke to this nonevent...I'm pretty sure that Tony Stewart for all his posturing has never been in a real fight in his life.
  • If it were on the track in the cars racing to the finish line it would be Tony. I think both of them would have to stop for a few Twinkie breaks if they were fighting toe to toe.
  • smoke
  • Montoya...he's Colombian..enough said
  • Tony Stewart. He is a man. Montoya is a cry baby.jcm dbv
  • If junior drove like his father...?

    May be...

  • He isn't getting many wins, but his father was a dirty driver. I like him the way he is.
  • That's one of the fans biggest mistakes.
    Junior is not his father.
that type of thinking epitomizes the phrase:
    "Don't go there"
  • His daddy was a low down dirty underhanded driver. Jr. isn't any better!
  • dalejr4e is so right! Na$car today would never let that kind of driving go on. Even if Senior was still alive and still driving, na$car would be all over him even know he's a legend. But the answer to your question. No I think Jrs. alright.
  • The same, but I believe JR Nation would like it because all they care about is where he finishes.
  • If he drove with the same fierce determination that Senior drove with, then I think that he would win a lot more. I have seen him drive with that determination and aggressiveness before and it is awesome to watch. I just don't think he has the drive to win that his father did. Call him (#3) dirty if you like, but there are few that have outwardly expressed through their driving that they would not accept anything other than a win. Jr. is a marketing device now. He's got it in him though. He was better when he was younger.
  • ....be the same.He has not impressed me since he moved to cup.
  • would you like him more or less?
  • His father was the last of the true good old boys who knew how to drive stock cars and made NASCAR what it is and had a desire to win not just place. Junior never inherited those genes from his father and no way he can ever drive like him.
  • There would be a lot more wrecked cars every week LOL. I never liked his daddy's driving style. Senior was the Kyle Busch of his day. If Kyle keeps driving that way he will probably end up kissing the wall like Senior did, but then everyone will make him out as a legend and a saint like they have Senior. No one seems to recall his dirty driving, convenient "memory loss" LOL. Junior needs to stay a clean driver, he won't win as many races but he'll live longer and have more respect.
  • For one thing Nascar would never allow that today, he would spend all is time being penalized, Nascar is to proper this day and time to allow any driver to drive like Sr. It would be nice to see him have some aggressive ways in him, but he is not his dad and he does not want to be compared to his dad.

    Go Dale Jrcanada deal r
  • Why would a NASCAR driver get penalized for driving too fast?

    May be...

  • It all comes down to safety, and people get penalized all the time. The difference is that Montoya thinks everyone is out to get him. Nascar can't help it that he is paranoid.
  • He was driving too fast on pit road. There are speed limits on each track to ensure safety for workers and officials that are over the wall. These people are completely unprotected (other than a helmet) and need to concentrate on their jobs. They should not have to worry about getting clipped by a car doing 75 mph trying to skid into the next pit box.

At Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the speed limit on pit road is 55 mph. NASCAR gives drivers a 5 mph buffer as they don't have speedometers. They have to rely on their Tachometer, which is why they follow the pace car at 55 mph. Montoya was clocked going over 60 mph twice, once at 60.06 & once at 60.11. I know this looks like only .06 & .11 over, but in reality, he was doing 5.06 & 5.11 over.
  • Driving too fast on the pit stop.
  • first it was a pit road speeding it can endanger others that are on pit road
  • Rules are rules.
  • To correctly answer your question a speed penalization occurs within the "Pit Road". The Pit Road is a stretch of track in which stock cars enter to receive fuel, new tires etc. It is occupied by the team pit crew members and cars at standstill. It becomes a safety issue if drivers enter or exit Pit Road at track speed. Therefore per NASCAR regulations a speed limit is maintained on Pit Road to avoid collisions and human injury.

Thus many drivers are penalized for driving too fast within Pit Road
  • The PIT ROAD is very dangerous for the crew and Indianapolis is very narrow and long, there is a line on both ends where you must be below the given speed. Even Formula 1 GP has adopted the speed limit idea alto their limits are much higher, they used to scream in, until they lost 3 crewmen in 1 year.
  • They have a speed limit for pit road on every track. They do it for the safety of the pit crews. The restrictor plates at Daytona and Talladega are done for safety of the drivers and fans. I'm all for letting these guys go as fast as possible as long as it is safe for the drivers, fans, and race teams.
  • Come on, SAFETY in the area where the tire changers, mechanics, etc. work. The cars can't stop for work running 190 mph. This is simple.
  • Juan Pablo Montoya was penalized for speeding on pit road. It is a safety issue. With crew members out in the boxes working on cars, you can't have people tearing in with no speed limit. It has been this way for years. Lots of people have been penalized for it. In a Nationwide race earlier this season at Kentucky, Carl Edwards received like 3 penalties. Not sure why it's so much of an issue now.
  • the only reason why a NASCAR driver would get penalized for driving too fast would be if they were going to pit road
  • There is a speed limit on pit road. In the early '90's, Ricky Rudd lost control of his race car on pit road and ran into Bill Elliott's right rear quarterpanel, pinning tire changer Mike Rich between the two cars, fatally wounding him. That is why NASCAR implemented a pit road speeding penalty. It's sad someone had to die to make NASCAR implement the rule, but that happens a lot.
Restrictor plates are implemented because a crash severely injured great NASCAR driver Bobby Allison.
Watch the second video Zachary S posted and you will see why they have restrictor plates. The first video he posted shows Mike Rich's fatal accident. (Great Job, Zachary!!!!!)
Because NASCAR doesn't want to make it where drivers die every year.
How exactly did you establish how fast a "raped ape" goes?
    Makes me wonder.....
  • Well if you saw yesterday's race at Indy you'd be referring to Juan Pablo Montoya's penalty for speeding on pit road. See, the rule is you can only go up to 75 mph on pit road.
  • Nascar says a driver will get penalized if they drive too fast for security
reasons. They have set a speed limit. But, I think Nascar is too strict with
it. If a driver goes a little too fast like Montoya did yesterday, they should give him the benefit of the doubt. But, if they go way too fast, then they should be penalized.

The thing about Montoya is that Nascar didn't want him to win, they wanted a Hendrick driver to win, which is what happened. Nascar is rigged.
  • Those are the rules. It's not right, but that's the way it is.

Nice rant, btw. You can jam one up there, too. I wouldn't know how fast a raped ape goes. Guess that's your area of expertise.
  • Drivers already have a pit road limit, but they're allowed a cushion. Montoya went over that allowance. Besides, have you no concern for the safety of the pit crews?
  • There is a certain speed on pit road that has to be maintained and not go over. This happends at almost every race...someone speeding on pit road. Pit road is not the race track...the reduce speed signs are not an option. It's for the safety of the pit crew. I haven't got the slightest idea why Juan Pablo Montoya's speeding on pit road made such a huge media event and why we are even getting questions about it. Yeah he was winning...but those are the breaks in racing. Jr. was ahead too and blew and engine, Kyle Busch was ahead and did something...blew a tire or something.. I don't see the rabid media going after them as much. Which I am sure is like a vacation for those two.
  • Because it is a danger to the pit crews. They can't have 43 cars going down a small pit road at 200 mph.
  • Wow I'm impressed. Not many people who aren't into NASCAR even know what a restrictor plate is, much less what it's used for. If you know that much then you should know that pit lane is a very dangerous place and if a crewman got hit by a car going 180 m/h then the outcome of that might not be so good (for the crewman). So that's why NASCAR has speed limits on pit lane, so that crewmen don't get hit and go flying into the stands whenever a car comes down to be serviced.
  • Juan went like 0.69 MPH too fast in the pit lane(barely 1 mph over the 60 MPH limit)

Pretty petty crap, but that's NASCAR...they don't want anyone but good- ol' boys winning...
  • I'll be the first to admit I'm not a big fan of NASCAR, but this just sounds goofy.

Isn't the whole idea of a race to go fast as hell?

Of course, I'm against the whole idea of restrictor plates as well. If I pay good money to go watch a race, I want to see guys driving as fast as is earthly possible. Jam a rocket up your *ss for all I care as long as it makes you go like a raped ape.
  • Pit Road has a strict speed limit for good reason. I too am against restrictor plates. I would like to go back to the Run Like Hell 60's. If you watch the Nostalgia flicks, when King Richard was making his mark, you will see that they were running Big Block Engines. When they started running regular speeds over 200, with cars bigger and heavier than they have now, they started downsizing. When the engineers found ways to get more power from small blocks, they restricted them too. Nascar, no longer has stock cars. I'd like to start a Run Watcha Brung League. Big Blocks, Fuel Injection, HEI ignitions, etc. No more templates either. See races won by 2 or 3 laps again, cause the best car won, with the best team, and driver.
  • Speeding in the pits where people are working on the cars is dangerous. People were hit in the past and nobody wants that to happen again since someone could be killed again.

They can go as fast as they want on the track.

LuvMy901 and Rita - Speed limit was 55 and NASCAR gives them a 5 mph buffer. Juan was going 60.6 or something.
  • There is a speed limit on pit road, because for "one", there are people on pit road, and for "two", it adds to the intensity of the race to have to make your race car perform in that capability also. A lot of drivers screw up. speeding on pit road. Kinda like on the public streets. Anyone ever get a speeding ticket? I haven't heard the phrase "raped ape" since '83, when my friend pulled up in his Dodge Dart Demon, with a 340, and said "this thing runs like a raped ape" I had to think about that one for awhile.
  • unfortunately safety take a roll in nascar pit road you have to obey the speed limit you might as well slow down cuz you gotta stop n e way i mean nascar has some messed up ways but id have to agree with them this time there are 6 brave souls that go over the wall to service the car you have to keep them in mind if you like all out speed watch f-1 they have a small family reunion when they service a car the penalty was not for on the track speeding if there is such a thing also im for slowing down for cautions someone can get t-boned real bad
  • NASCAR instituted pit-road speed limits back around 1991 after Bill Elliott's rear-tire changer, Mike Rich, was killed during a pit stop when he was crushed by Ricky Rudd's spinning car.

FYI - Yesterday's speed limit was 55mph and NASCAR gives a 5mph cushion. JPM was given an inch and took a mile.
  • It's a safety issue. All the pit crew guys are way to vulnerable with speeding cars zooming by. It's not just the drivers and fans NASCAR needs to protect it's also everyone on pit road. And I agree with you about the restrictor plate although I know NASCAR won't ever take those things off either because of another safety issue.vadem clio sync

What is a NASCAR pole sitter?

    May be...

  • Pole SItter is the one who had fastest time in track, gets start 1st in the race. Think of it as, when they anounce all star lineup in basketball, announce "best" players..
  • the pole sitter is the guy that will start first on race day
  • The pole sitter is the one who in qualifying had the fastest lap time. So this means that Mark Martin had the fastest lap time out of all the drivers who qualified at the Brickyard.
  • The pole sitter is the driver who was fastest in qualifying, so he starts first.
  • What does it mean in a NASCAR race to say someone is a pole sitter? Today's newspaper report of Sunday's race says: "Martin, the pole sitter, has yet to win in 16 Brickyard starts."
  • the pole sitter (or pole position) is the driver who drove the fasted qualifying lap, and gets to start the race in the first spot.

The term is derived from horse racing, where they used to line up at a pole.
  • The pole sitter is the driver who finishes first in qualifying. If qualifying gets rained out it goes by points. So the pole sitter is the driver that starts the race.accompli 009 personal
  • When did it become illegal to speed in Nascar?

    May be...

  • Its not racing anymore, its like a bunch of babies racing. You are suppose to see in racing whos the fastest, not who @##$$ Nascar enough so they can get rules there way. They have ruined racing with rules. Racing is about speed. Not spoilers and restrictor plates, and you can do this or you cant do that. Let the fastest man with the most balls win. Not ones that nascar wants. Nascar racing now is about as creditable as WWF. Its not a sport its more about entertainment with the results figured out long before the race. Like shortened waits for rain delays for one or extra long rain delay waits here, supposed speeding in the pits, or letting 88, 48 or others bump or ram someone and thats just racing, but let robbie gordon or the likes slide into someone and thats wreckless driving. Only idiots believe racing isnt fixed!
  • I am serious. Some guy got penalized for speeding into the pit .
  • NASCAR instituted speed limits on pit road after a couple of pit crew members were killed during races. That rule was put in place quite a few years ago and is for the safety of the pit crews. It is currently monitored electronically to take out any subjective judgment and drivers are given a 5 mph cushion. NASCAR is not the only series with a pit road speed limit. All other major forms of racing including F1, IRL, and ALMS have a pit road speed limit. What is unique in NASCAR is the driver has to control the speed himself while the other series use a button on the steering wheel that activates a rev limiter.
  • It's for the safety of pit crews because if someone was going 200mph on pit road they could kill someone. And Rob if you were on pit road and you got hit by a car you wouldn't think it was a bunch of babies cause you would be dead. So if you like seeing people die then tell NASCAR to remove the pit road speed limit.
  • I believe the pit road speed limit went into effect the first race of the 1990 season, at Daytona..
Before that they would hit pit road at about 150..
There is a speed limit on the track.. A minimum speed limit..
  • Mindcrime is Right! They used to do 75 to 90 miles an hour down Pit row!
  • There have always been speed limits on pit road to ensure the safety of the crews, officials, and other drivers.
  • Pit road speeds were made in the early 90s for safety reasons, and pit road is part of the race. Mistakes on pit road happen all the time, and it often will cost the race. Everyone is playing by the same rules.

And yes...they do restrict speed at some race tracks, again, for safety reasons. These safety rules do take something away from racing, but we don't need any more drivers or crew members killed for the sake of our entertainment.
  • The link below is why it is illegal to speed in Pit Road.

Not unless you want that to happen again.
  • Imagine if there were no speed limit in pit row? Good lord.
  • I don't know the exact year, but they have had a speed limit on pit road for years now. It's to protect the crew members. They shouldn't have to die from getting run over to please a handful of people who don't understand that certain safety measures are necessary. Who wants to stand out there if drivers are going close to 100 mph even?
  • There have always been speed limits on pit row. It's for the safety of the pit crews.
  • Another fan that just watched their first race...Montoya got caught speeding which is illegal on pit row..nothing political like lots of people think..so live with it...better, more intelligent driver won today..gps voice navigation
  • Special Skills in Nascar?

    May be...

  • One skill is driving right next to someone at 200mph. Great reaction time. Have to be in good shape to drive 400 miles at an average of 170 mph. There's G's pulling them everytime they go into the corners. That wears on you alot. Have to be dead on with the track that you are racing at and know how to also be dead on with shifting and down shifting.
  • You have to be able to make WICKED *** left turns.
  • Your friend is stupid!!!!!!!!!! Not just anyone can jump into any race car and kick butt right away. If your friend jumped into Smokes car or Danica's Indy car he would hit the wall real quick! I to would hit the wall real fast if I jumped into one of those cars. If you or I can't drive one of these cars then you do need a special skill to drive in NASCAR or any race car.
  • I've been driving for 30 years, and the fastest I've ever actually driven a car is about 120mph and I scared the crap out of myself!
I've went on a Richard Petty Driving Experience Ride Along at Daytona and went 165 mph and was amazed at how hard it was just to keep my head straight just sitting there! The g-forces, even on the banking at Daytona, were stunning. I was sure we were going to drive right into the wall. We did three laps and I was breathless. I cannot imagine what it takes to actually drive a car at that speed, in traffic, for 500 miles. Skills? Oh yeah! Balls? More than your friend has!
  • My friend says that nascar isnt a real sport and that nascar drivers arent athletes, he says to be athlete you need a special skill i told him some special skills but he said those arent special skills he also said if you have been driving for a long time you can race in nascar which isnt true so do any of you know some special skills to be a nascar driver?
  • Of course there are special skills in nascar, first you have to be a redneck, married to your second cousin, be able to burp the alphabet, squish a can on your head, fart burp and scratch at the same time, and most of all, have your house rolling down the hill it was on, while your gorilla wife is chasing your 17 kids around the house and beating them with the dog collar and the dog still in it while you sit back and watch porn on the tv with your hand down your pants, if your even wearing any.
  • I wouldn't worry about trying to convince your friend of anything. It's obvious he wouldn't grasp the reality of the situation. People like that are just a little disillusioned over basic things that we understand, without question.emergency battery charger

    Juan pablo montoya screwed?

    May be...

  • so stupid, he should have won no matter WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!…
  • I do agree JPM should have stayed in F1. It is the pinnacle of motorsport. BUT I am glad he came to Nascar so we can see a great talent race over here in our series. I do think, and it's simply a gut feeling, that Nascar got it wrong but I certainly don't think Nascar was trying to rob JPM. I don't believe in conspiracy theories as a general rule. I don't think the head Nascar people got together and said, No, we don't want Juan winning. Juan winning is a better story than Hendrick and JJ winning again.
  • It happens! Drivers with the car to beat all day lose the race sometimes. That's why it's called racing. That's why you have to make it to the end of 160 laps, and not 140. Dozens of guys have lost races by making their own competition by beating themselves. The scoring computers said Juan was over the speed limit, including the 5 mph grace period, and NASCAR took the approriate action. Yeah, it sucks for him, but that's racing. It happens! Get over it, and move on to next week. The guy with the best car is not always the guy that wins, that's how racing works.
  • so you think Nascar timed Juan too fast on pit road because he's hispanic? Now you sound like Chica. I agree that Juan Pablo deserved to win, but he isn't the first Nascar driver to lose a race because of a speeding penalty and he won't be the last. C'mon! Wouldn't he have been the feel good winner today, running the same paint scheme as he did when he won as a rookie at the Indy 500? Certainly a PR winner for Nascar as well. I was cheering for him and I felt bad about the penalty, buuutttt...I don't think it was the white majority conspiring to keep a minority from winning.
  • It sucks for Montoya--I feel sick for him--but those speeds are gauged electronically. I don't think it's some vast conspiracy. If anything, NASCAR would like to see a Montoya win. It would bring in a whole new untapped Hispanic market.

That was a pretty smug comment by Jimmie--I thought he had more class than that.

I didn't hear the racist comments, so can't offer an opinion on those.
  • Total BS, he was screwed big time. Nascar you are really pissing me off big time..

    Go Dale Jr
  • i would get a lawyer and file suit against the nascar computer that didn't want a hispanic to win. the race card is getting old.
  • montoya is overrated and no he is not one of the best open wheel drivers in the world, he only won one race in open wheel, but yes he should go back there. They always talk about how talented he is but before today he has only led 57 laps in his NASCAR career in 3 1/2 years. You probably think Dale Jr is the best too, his stats are about the same since JPM has been driving. Jimmie Johnson has gotten penalized 3 times this year for speeding on pit road when he was leading a race, are you trying so say Jimmie Johnson is hispanic? Him getting penalized has nothing to do with his nationality, so stop whining. If anything they talk about how talented he is even though he isn't because he is hispanic, because everyone is suppose to kiss the hispanics butt so you don't hurt their precious little feelings.
  • He is not the first driver to get caught speeding through pit road and deny doing so. You don't have to make it a racial issue. I've read your quotes above by Jimmie and Tony, and I can't quite figure out how they put him down?! They stated the facts. "He did a great job, he had the car, I hate it for him, he lead a lot of laps and he didn't win".....how is that putting anybody down? I agree the truth hurts sometimes, but it doesn't necessarily mean it's a put down.

For the record, I took Juan in my fantasy racing league. I don't want anybody accusing me of being a hater. He had the car, he was FLYING! The best driver/car of the race does not usually win. We see it almost every week.
  • he got screwwd cause he's and open wheeler not cause he is hispanic

they would love a hispanic to win

they dont want any open wheelers to win
  • I don't think NASCAR is racist. They could have called a caution for several cars being stuck on the track at Infineon with 2 to go in 2007 and they chose to let the race finish. But I know how you feel. At first I thought NASCAR was trying to let Mark win, but I've calmed myself down, and you should do the same.

Don't worry, he's going to have several more strong runs. And don't miss Indy next year.
  • The computer said that he was speeding. Its not like there is one person in a back room that tells everyone someone is speeding. There are quite a few people who monitor the computers looking for speeders. Dont get me wrong I would have loved to see Juan win, but I dont think NASCAR is racist.
  • Computers don't make mistakes. Drivers trying to push the limit make mistakes.

To suggest that this was planned by NASCAR to keep a latino from winning is beyond ignorance.
  • I think it was total BS...and I'm far from a Juan Pablo fan.
  • Yeah, sure the timing loops are bigoted against hispanics.

He was speeding, end of story.

He is ready to move on, did anyone see the interview with him?

Yes, he's pissed, but he is over it.
  • Montoya (unfortunately) screwed himself
  • Was Juan pablo montoya screwed at the brickyard?? I Belive so! nascar gave driver Juan pablo montoya a penalty for speeding on pit lane.To me it seems that nascar nation is not going to aloud a hispanic to win,Juan should of had stuck to formula 1,he is one of the best openwheel drivers in the world.

    some quotes from the race.

    Jimmi Johnson
"I do know I have the trophy," he offered. "I hate it for him. I know it is a story, Juan led so many laps, but when we come back and look at it two months from now the stat sheet is going to have a 'W' next to my name. That's all that matters."

    tony steward
"He never really was challenged all day," Stewart said. "He did a great job. I know what he's feeling like -- he's got to be sick inside. He had the car, he had the talent to do it, he just made a mistake and it cost him."

sad how they put him down...

this is the worse "home cooking" in nascar i have ever seen!!!
nascar will do anything to let one of these boys win, including cheating out montoya how sad,in my mind he did win

this is so sad,but its reality and its going to continue to happen in sports
the same thing happend to ricky rubio who was bought out of the nba all stat dunk contest and ontop of that the anouncer kenny, said some very racist things about him.
  • He was speeding and he was penalized for it. He got the same penalty as anyone else caught speeding.

Jimmie Johnson has gotten the same penalty. So has Tony Stewart.
  • i like montoya but i don't think he was screwed. nascar apparently caught him speeding in two different sections of the track during his pit stop. why would nascar not want montoya to win? the best way to ensure viewership increases (particularly among hispanics) is for him to win. nascar is a corporation and is more interested in the dollar than anything else. plenty of drivers have led the most laps and not won the race. there isn't a conspiracy in every action or facet. jimmy johnson is a california dude. if nascar was wanting one of it's tobacco chewing, slow talking southerners to win, then the races would be slanted (no offense to asians) towards elliott sadler every week. should juan have won...probably but he didn't. everything isn't racism. i see white people eat with forks everyday and they have chopsticks sitting right in front of them. i don't get offended. he's still in the top 12 and looking good for the chase.
  • Nascar is a joke. They did not want the 42 car to win nor did they want the owner to win. Nascar is more fixed than WWE. what a hose job.
  • I like Juan. When the announcer said he was speeding, I yelled BS!! That was total fabrication. The last thing he would do is speed on pit road. These guys arent idiots.

Ive been a fan for 16 years, and I dont know if Im gonna watch anymore. After screwing over Jeremy Mayfield, Its clear theyre gotdamn bullies.

Jeremy's innocent, and so is Juan.
  • well humans run computers and sometimes mistakes happen..
    yes i believe he was
  • The computer said he was speeding, so he was penalized.
  • Nascar wanted Montoya to win. Just as bad as they want the 88 to win. I think it was Nascar that begged Montoya to come over to Nascar, to begin with.
The hispanic part has nothing to do with it. Their money spends just like anyone else's.
  • I would like to give JPM the benefit of the doubt. I reviewed his comments acouple of times. He seems to think he was in the green and not speeding. JPM, crew chief, and car owner need to have a talk with NASCAR. Someone's equipment is wrong but who's? They need to address this. If it happened to JPM, then it could happen to someone else.

Something doesn't make sense. If you had sped through pit row once, why would you do it twice? JPM doesn't seem like the person to push his luck twice in a situation like that.

Can't comment on the racist remarks...... I missed that totally. If it's true, then somebody needs to make an apology.
  • He was speeding on pit road and he had a penalty...that's just how it goes....it is not some nascar scheme or anything so just calm down... He just had some bad luck thats all...
  • He's not the only person who has ever been penalized for speeding down pit road so how could he have been cheated by NASCAR? Is it because everybody but white people can scream discrimination every time something goes wrong in life? He was speeding.
  • They were allowed to go 60 mph on pit road. They clocked him going 60.11. Absolutely BS. They definitely screwed him.
  • Give me a break! Juan was speeding! NASCAR is not going to purposely screw Juan out of a chance to win just for the hell of it. I think NASCAR would have liked to see Juan win because Juan brings in a whole new fan base that NASCAR wants. And if NASCAR was truly biased against Juan they would make sure the sports most popular driver would win and be in the chase! Of course that would be Jr. And guess were Jr. is at in points. 21st or 22nd in points I believe.uha decompressor
  • Earnhardt family protection act?

    May be...

  • That law only applies to FL. Jackson's death was in California and so does not apply.
  • Was this act ever voted to law in Fla? If so does it apply in other states? I understand that it keeps the autapsy informatiom (photos) from being published in the media without the family's permission. Now the question how does this apply in the case of Michael Jackson's autopsy information? If the media can get around this in this case what protection does the average family have?

  • Do you think the Lewis Hamilton hate club will show its ugly face today?

    May be...

  • To Cataclysmic Kwa, what the hell are you doing here then?!?!

Yeah I'm sure Hamilton will have managed to p!ss someone off!

I'm over the moon though! :-)

    EDIT: @ Allen - I never went anywhere!! ;-)
  • I've got a better question...Do you think the Loyal Lewis fan club will turn up now that hes won a race again?

    Oops your all here! ;-)

@Bozo I've been hiding under you bed grrrrr :-o
Bugger me mate I've just found the body of the poor sod you stole that TC badge from under here! wtf!
  • who the hell watches f1 racing?
  • Of course haters must hate on Hamilton let's see why:
    His Current Status: World Champion
    His Girlfriend: Nicole Scherzinger
    His Attitude: Down to earth
    His Hero: Ayrton Senna
    His Money: Truck loads
  • yes they will soon be out in force , they are jealous of him
  • ye prob, but even they can't deny that he did an amazing job, and is back where he belongs in that car.

    NOTE TO kbcying;
I don't agree of course ;) But I'm sure we all agree that we like the way you have A REASON for hating him, rather than just being racist, or stupid :)
  • Nahh most likely not. they would be here all the time those losers!

    hi allan ;)
  • I'd say the odds are on a level with the "Lewis Hamilton we've-all-got-chips-on-our-shoulders fan club" showing their sad pathetic faces.

    Allan - down boy!
  • Hate club? There's a hate club? Gollee geeee..

There is one truth in life, and Forest Gump knew it; Stupid is as Stupid does. And anyone in a hate club is, uh, Stupid! So let them show their Stupid faces. Let them ejaculate their Stupid vitriol. Let them show and prove that they are Stupid.

Will they? Probably. Do I care? Hell no. I'm not the stupid one, They are! So as my old Amigo Pedro might say, "Adios, Stupidos."

EDIT: Yes, Allan, we're here. So, where have you been, mate? :o)
  • I expect so......... jealousy has a habit of rearing it's ugly head
  • I think the racist idiots are racist idiots.I do not like Lewis Hamilton for one reason and that is that he knowingly cheated. He knew his team had racing strategy and blueprints of Ferrari and that is how I will remember him which is a shame because he is a great driver....39 hoagies lee s

    May be...

  • He won't run over the pace car! Or will he? Can we hope in runs over Kyle Busch?
  • Nascar takes NO action against idiots when they crash people so why shouldn't they? Brad screws up and ends a guy's night and nothing happens. Nascar screws up the pace car deal and it causes Wallace and Bayne a bunch of spots. Thats messed up IMO.
  • Well ya can't blame a guy for wanting to win. And he is a rookie. BUT...you know darn well had that been Kyle people wouldn't be saying that its racing they would be screaming for his head on a platter. LOL So I am taking your word for it that he took someone out...I missed the race for a graduation party. But Edwards won so I guess I didn't miss much.

  • He's aggressive, maybe too aggressive at some times...but it's so hard to pass there that if you're really desperate that's what you gotta do...I was more angry with NASCAR being idiots and putting Trevor Bayne to 11th for no reason.
