Will Matt Kenseth ever come sign autographs in Missouri?~(NASCAR)~?

May be...

  • he races in kc doesnt he.........sheesh
  • These guys work literally seven days per week, fifty weeks per year. Why don't you pursue him at one of the NASCAR tracks. They do race in KC, buy a ticket and go. You could contact Roush Racing in Livonia, Michigan and find out where Kenseth's schedule would allow him to sign autographs. Be inventive-think outside the box.
Have you looked on EBay to see if anyone's selling a documented autograph of his?
  • I think if you wrote him and told you how big of a fan you were of his hed send one to you. but send a return envelope.
  • What a beautiful sugestion, Empress Theodora! Jessi the few NASCAR drivers I have actually met long enough to snag an autograph
are for the most part professionally as well as blue collar courteous enough to be polite in person. However try to restrain your secret fantasies...lol. ETN, we really don't know these drivers personally, but they are decent folk and you have just steered me to getting a Greg Biffle signature for an internet friend whom shares my "so nasty we need a support group" to knock his socks off as a surprise. Gotta luuuuv you for this!
  • Here's an original idea: check his website.
  • maybe you never know. but the race in kansas speedway would probley be the best bet to get it. i would love to meet him too. that would make my day too. but you never know he might come there, he does some singing at home depot. i wish there was a race around Cambridge. i would like to see his fan club home and his museum of all the cars he has driven.
  • He came at Pocono in June. My Dad and I got to meet him. I was very happy. He was super nice. That was the first driver that my Dad got to meet, and Matt is his fav, it definitely made his day.
  • sure he would! You would have better luck if you could go to a race and get a pit pass. Check and see if he has something going on when he comes in September. Maybe a fan fair or something. Jess why don't you write to him??? Go to his site and tell him all about yourself. Also, sometimes drivers will send fans a signed picture if they request one. Not sure if it costs anything though. probably does nowadays.
  • You never know, he might. But if he does hug you, you do realize that you'll have to let go eventually, right? lol j/k
  • The page below lists his appearances and signings at the tracks. It also has a list of the DeWalt Rolling Thunder appearance/signing schedule. Sorry, no Missouri on the list.

    *HEXX*
  • that would make my day
  • What is your favorite thing(s) about nascar track california speedway?

    May be...

  • It's a big, fast race track and that's about it.
  • The finish. Then the most boring race of the season is over, and they're off to one of the most exciting. I can't stand that track. It's very boring to me.
  • Lots of parking...We never had problems finding a spot close to the gate..
  • that i won't be there in the heat again this year... nor sitting in the rain watching them try to deal with the "weepers" on the track.

and that i can go on thursday nights to the racefest and have a good time for free, including visiting all the merchandise trailers and getting some driver autographs and pictures. i can see and do most everything i want (from that track) on that night. then i can come back home and watch practice, qualifying, and the races from the comfort of my own home...
  • the Speed
  • It's out west. Most of the tracks are back east and it's slim pickin's out here.
  • Lot of things I like about Fontana.

    Here's a small list:

    A) Drivers having to deal with dry and hot weather.
    B) Santa Ana winds moving the car around.
    C) The undulating track surface making it difficult to get through the turns.
    D) The hanging RPMS(high speeds).
    E) It's not your basic "cookie cutter" shape.
    F) The way the cars travel close to the wall.
    G) Heat is a factor on crew and motors.
    H) The infamous hot dog wrappers.
    I) A lot of stars show up for the race.
    J) The background view of the mountains.

It's not a track for the weak drivers. Better come with your "A" game or you'll get chewed up and spit out by lap 40.

    side note:
Run for your life "David G". Gustave is coming. Hunker down and good luck.
  • multiple grooves
    atmosphere
    the race to the chase
    it's fast
  • hmm that it was the final scene in Terminator 2
before it was made into a race track
  • It's in Sadler win column, other than that, bleh!
  • Cant think of anything I really like about the track

Still have a hard time accepting the fact that there is no more racing at Rockingham because Cali needed one more race.

  • That it IS NOT HOSTING the Labor Day weekend NEXT YEAR. Not meaning to bash Cali fans....but it's on my least favorite list. Just an opinion of course. Mainly the track design and NOT it's location.
  • aka Auto Club Speedway of Southern California, aka Fontana, etc
  • I like the way some of the drivers run out of room, coming off turn 4
  • its in california
  • the speeds. more then one groove. alot of side by side racing. and the roush fenway cars run good there. and kenseth is amzazing there.
  • Fontana is where Kyle got his FIRST cup win in 2005!! It made him the youngest Cup winner ever.

    And it hasn't stopped since!!!
  • I like that Kenseth typically runs very well there. Other than that, its all negative. So Darlington loses The Southern 500 on Labor Day weekend. The Rock has zero races yet in return we get see 2 races at Fontana?! They cant even sell the place out.
  • Are you a member of your favorite driver's fan club??

    May be...

  • No, I'm not.
I'm just not a "fan club" kinda gal.
  • No :'(
but i would if i could
  • Nope. It's just not my thing.
  • Been a member of Dale Jr's fan club (seems like forever) I'm also in a local Dale Jr fan club as well...I like being a member of a club that everyone is a fan of the driver and its fun to actually meet some of them at a race. I'm not as active in the club as I use to be but I stay a member..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Yep I sure am. Been a member of Juniors fan club for a long time & a member of JR Nation for 3yrs now. I joined for several reasons, a lot of updates before the news gets it out, his site is awesome....I just flat out like Junior. =o`)
  • I'm not a member of Matt's fan club, per se... however, I've been a member of the Roush Fenway fan club since late last year. I love my email updates from the Biff, J-Mac, and Colin Braun! (I get them from Matt and Carl Edwards too, but not nearly as many)
  • If so long how long? Why did you join?
If not......what are your reasons for not
    Or never thought about it???
  • Of course I am...I,ve been a member of the Petty fan club for 7 or 8 years...43 the King...
  • Nope.

But I am a member of the Official NASCAR Members Club. I think I benefit more from that than just being a part of one of my favorite driver's fan club. It's kind of expensive though; eighty-four dollars a year. But I get 10% off everything I buy from the NASCAR.com Superstore plus other discounts and special offers when there's a race near me.
  • You know Jeff that is a good idea. My favorite alive driver, Robby Gordon, could probably use all the fan support he can get.

I have thought about joining many times. My reason for not, laziness. But now I will join

  • Im not a member of Kurt's fan club (I ought to be) but I have donated a bunch of money to Rusty's fan club over the years. Im just glad I didnt have to buy all new gear. Ive got way too much #2 Miller Lite stuff to have to start over.
  • No. Just not my thing. I support my drivers on raceday, occasionally buy merchandise, that's about it. I couldn't care less about sponsors. Besides, why spend time with likeminded fans when you can have so much fun jousting with other driver's fans?!

  • I have been a member of both Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick's fan clubs, both lasted for one year.

I was not happy at all with the Jeff Gordon fan club, they gave me such a hard time and much BS that I not only decided not to rejoin but I also started to not like Jeff so much afterwards as a result. Yes, I know it wasn't him that I had the hassle with but the fan club is a representative of the driver and as a result my liking of Jeff went downhill afterwards.

As for Kevin's fan club, I had no problems. I enjoyed getting the quarterly newsletters and the autographed hero card and tee shirt. However at the end of the day I didn't think it was worth the $30+ dollars. You don't need to be a member of fan club to be a die hard fan.
  • i have been a member of kurt's #1 fan club online since it started. kyle has multiple fan clubs, and most i have found on official sites (kylebusch.com, rowdybusch.com) cost $35 or so and i think you get a t-shirt or something. seeing that they were charging for them and they didn't lay out much of what you get for it, i just never thought it about it again. i support him and his sponsors already so many ways - not only by purchasing his merchandise (and often directly from his trailer or from joegibbsracing), but also by doing things on the online sites by m&m setup for him - both official domains and myspace sites. i also buy as much "electricvisual" wear as i need, and i pay to have a domain hosted as a fan site for him myself. i also have many rss feeds from various places for news specific to both of the busch brothers, and i subscribe to the jgr online newsletter. maybe i'll change my mind and join one if i see that it offers something i probably already don't have or have access to.
  • Nope. Never thought about it either, though if you are a member of Elliot Sadlers fan club his has a great barn dance/party coming up this coming week to benefit Autism Awareness. Now if i saw that earlier in the summer...I may have considered it.

I don't belong to Kyle Busch fan club either. I do support the sponsors and I do participate in their charities every spring. But thats it.

  • I don't have a favorite driver anymore. Haven't had one since 2001.
  • No I am not. I am just a fan.
  • I really never thought about it till now. Anyone know the name of the Kenny Wallace fan club :)

  • What say you NASCAR Nation?

    May be...

  • Allmendinger 2nd, Kenseth 37th
  • Allmendinger & Carpentier. I'm happy for both of them. Dinger probably the most he was flyin. =o`)

No apologies needed. The bridge dwellers had a lot of feathers ruffled. All is good Winter!

Wishin a happy n safe Holiday weekend to all n good to luck to everyone's driver. :))
  • Patrick Carpentier or as Larry Mac say's, "Patrick Carperntier."
  • The Dinger? In second? WOW!

Haven't noticed any meaness from you either. Relax! The only troll on here that has been consistanly mean and nasty is and always will be you know who and he needs no help being that way. Must live in an emotionally deprived environment. Poor baby.......
  • Matt 37 YAY!!!
when he qualifys bad thats when he WINS!!!!!!!
  • Patrick Carpentier qualifying 5th for one.

    Dave Blaney qualifying 8th!!

And Matt Kenseth at 37??? I just noticed that.

awww...I never saw you being mean WG. Just be yerself. Don't let certain other life forms from under the bridge cause you to be anything but you. none of us are robots nor should we be.
  • A.J. starting up front and Kenseth starting in the rear of the field.
  • I was surprised that Dale Jr. qualified 18th. I expected him to be lower. I knew that even though Jimmie J and Jeffy G qualified 1st and 3rd with their extra horsepower engines that Dale Jr would still bring down the HMS stable by qualifying bad, but I was hoping he would have qualified even lower. I bet he won't let me down in the race though. Now his car is actually starting out slow, and with him calling the shots as Mr. I'm-my-own-crew-chief-so-I-get-to-talk- down-to-Tony-Eury Jr, he will only drop down as the race goes on.

You are not unpleasant. Jr Nation is.
  • Who was the most *didn't see that coming* qualifier?

And I'd like to apologize if I've been somewhat unpleasant lately, I assure you, it's all out of my system.
    Forgive me?
  • I missed qualifying... *checks lineup*... the Dingalinger is second? Wow, I'm definitely going to have to say that I certainly didn't see that coming from AJ! Go Team Red Bull!

Oh, and I never find you unpleasant. Now me, on the other hand, well, that's my job around here.
  • "Dinger" in the #84.....very happy for him and his team....great to see him on the outside after struggling thru out his career w/ quals.

Unpleasant? Haven't seen it. You are very respected in this forum.
We all have our moments.....I'm still a fan.
  • I didn't see Aric Almirola qualifying 10th that was amazing I am very surprised that that happened. Very happy for A.J. Allmendinger too that was cool I'm very happy for him. Also surprised about the 99 and the 17 not qualifying in the top 25 Carl was 1st in pretty much everything but this qualifying and this is one of Matt's best tracks.
  • I wouldnt thought it would be possible for Carl top qualify that bad. But I am sure he will get up to the front with no problem.. And my pick Kenseth. he qualified 37th. That might be a struggle for him hopefully not though. Good for Allmendiger. Maybe he can get a good finish.
  • My favorite Canadian driver getting in the top 5 today at Fontana, Carpentier, and AJ ( I use to call him Wallmadinger) starting on the front row with Jimmie, way to go AJ (and I'm not a Toyota fan) but I like this guy. Not happy about Dale Jr's starting position, but it could be worse, like last week.. Glory, I have never found you to be unpleasant.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I was pleasantly surprised by both Blaney and Almirola. Now if they could just finish that well.

It's all good, WG. I haven't seen you be unpleasant to anyone. You gave someone the benefit of the doubt. Nothing wrong with that.
  • definitely didn't see carl qualifying 26th, especially after winning here in the spring under the sun, and being first in practice.

and although i guess i haven't been around enough to notice your unpleasantness, i forgive you. or was it because i haven't been around so much the past few days that you've been unpleasant? if so, i apologize...
    ;-)
  • A.J. for sure.
  • For me it was Patrick Carpentier starting fifth after missing Bristol last week. I didn't get to watch qualifying so I'm just going by looking at Nascar.com.

I havent been on here hardly at all this week, my younger brother has been in the hospital in Dallas. You have NEVER been unpleasant to me Winter. Have a great weekend.

Im a dues paying member of Winter Glory's fan club.
  • I agree with most of the others...A.J Allmendinger and Patrick Carpentier really surprised me.

I haven't been on much, but I have never read anything unpleasant from you. The only person I've been reading nasty remarks and answer's from is a certain Jr. hater and Jr Nation hater. Just read his answer to this question.
  • A.J. Allmendinger was the last to qualify and got the #2 spot, I thought WOW he nearly got the pole. While watching the last 4-5 qualifiers I was just wondering who wouldn't get in and the last one to go out was A.J. Allmendinger in a Toyota and really put in a good lap of 40.076. So yeah...I did not see that coming..Have Fun and good luck with your favorites this weekend
  • Will you be going to Singapore for F1 racing next month?

    May be...

  • I wish! I have a few friends though who are going!
  • .

No, unfortunately I am a sinner. I chew gum, don't go to the back of the bus and am a firm believer in normally acceptable unnatural acts.

However, if you do go I thoroughly recommend the long bar at Raffles for their creation, the Singapore Sling, and sadly a sex shop which me and a friend 'happened upon' (there's no way to explain it away here is there, but we did, honest guv) where we were rolling around on the floor corpsed with laughter, tears in our eyes, complete with bemused onlookers, when we saw the title of one of their products....it was SO SO funny. I won't post unless there's a real demand as it could be construed as offensive to some, but funny funny funny if you don't think too hard like me...

NASCAR POLL: Do you participate in some form of racing activity...?????

    May be...

  • in the winter after the last race in November and before the Bud Shootout???

I live near many large lakes in NY and one of the really fun winter activities that I attend is 4x4 racing on the ice. I haven't participated only once and that was as a passenger but we attend a lot. We always have a wonderful time. There is a lodge but we build fires outside and stick around them...roast hot dogs and drinking something to warm our innards. Just a lot of fun to break up the winter blahs.

ALSO::::: dianne m just had surgery yesterday on her left shoulder and cannot move her left arm or hand, as it's very painful. She will not be here for a few days but wanted to say hello to you all!!!!!
  • Does Track and Cross Country count? That is the only type of racing I'm involved in.
  • Yea, I run a NASCAR Xanga (a blog)

    www.xanga.com/true_nascar_fan

come check it out, you can discuss w/e you want that is NASCAR on my site...just no swearing.

lol...and I watch the races every weekend.

    I print standings/results/news each Monday.

And I follow quals on tv as well.

  • Winter is cold, snowy, yucky and did I mention COLD and like VP Tom said, NASCAR-LESS. Nothing about that screams go outside and play to me. I stay inside and watch NASCAR stuff that I taped durning racing season and didn't watch so I would have stuff to watch in the off season. Yes I know sad but hey a girls gotta do whatever she can to get through the off season:)
  • They have ice racing by where I live as well, but it is usually just front or rear wheel drive cars. I got to drive one in 2 different races at the same event. My ex wife sponsored a car, through the supper club she owned, and at the year end race they allowed specatators and sponsors to driver them. What a hoot that was! Now I do a lot of ice fishing during the off season and have football to watch. I hope dianne is doing well. Have a great weekend!
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
ps-I still want that chessecake recipe LOL Last night we had our annual Lion's Club pot luck and somebody brought this awesome pumpkin desert. It had some of the best crust I have ever had. I will get that one and swap you.
  • Years and years ago!
    Dirtbikes YZ-125's
  • i don't really to much
but i live on a hill and there are ice storms some times and the ice gets on the road so me and my sister go all the way to the top and slide down on our butts
    i always LOSE!!!
    MUHAHAHAHAHAHA

    why did she have surgery?

    EDIT:
Oh come on Tom Man up i have been out side when it was -14 degrees
i know what Matty & Katie do http://www.flickr.com/photos/sl54901/280...
  • Used to race go karts back in mid 90's....won a few races....but just couldn't keep up financially....my last race I was involved in a huge crash that totalled my kart and my career. Just race for fun now at NASCAR SPEEDPARK in Concord NC when I can make it down there.
  • Say hi to dianne m for me and to get well soon. Over the winter, let's see. I hate thinking about the winter, it's cold, wet, and Nascar-less but I do play my Nascar video games and I love tracking the new paint schemes down.

Edit: Lol, I live in the middle of nowhere, I can watch the clouds race eachother but it's too cold to go out. lol
  • where i'm from winter is so long if you don't play in it you'll go crazy from "cabin fever" I beat up my friends racing snowmobiles on the frozen lakes and I do a lot of survival training by mountain biking in the snow. They actually do a bicycle iditarod in Alaska. It's a whole new world. I used to street race and do endurance rides on motorcycles through the western states. I don't street race anymore but I aquired more life through motorsports than anything i've ever done.
  • Growing up I did a lot of racing, but not anymore lol.

It all started when I was 4 or 5 in the winter time in Kentucky I would race our go kart around the garden in the winter and have fun doing that.

Then when I was about 9 my dad had this Logging type company and he made a race track in our back yard one day with his bulldozer when I was at school. Then he bought an old beat up mustang for about $500 and took all the windows and interior out and we would go down to the race track he built and race. I had to use a lot of pillows just to see over the dashboard.

And when I was 12 we bought an actual racing go kart. It was a good family thing and was some of the best years of my life was racing go karts. My first year I won about 8 races and a track championship but it got too expensive so we had to quit. But it was definitely a lot of fun.

In the winter here now I don't think there's any racing around at all. All the dirt tracks are closed and we don't get enough snow to do some of the cool stuff you listed (Tennessee), but that would be fun. I love the snow.

I've always wanted to visit Alaska or move there some day. I can't get enough of the snow.
  • I don't but probably should. I live in Tennessee so there are lots of racing things that I could do.

I hope dianne recovers soon. She is in my thoughts and prayers.
  • As far as auto racing, no. I don't think this counts but I do however go to a lot of horse shows throughout the summer/fall and a few in the winter. There are quite a few speed events as far as barrel racing, pole bending, cross country, etc.

I go to a few shows in the winter but for the most part I train. I'm starting 3 colts in a few months in driving so hopefully by next spring they will be ready for some of the CDE (combined driving). That also has a speed event, the marathon phase. And of course there is always eventing which has cross country. If it wasn't for all of that I would probably go insane during the Nascar off season LOL. And I hope dianne m is ok and gets well soon.
  • No organized racing but we do also race on the ice. just a group of us get together and it's word of mouth. no one really plans anything. We use our 4 wheelers and sleds. Just good times.
  • dune buggy that's it for land.

I live in the Fl keys so everything is water around here so I do--Motor boat racing (my friend does), jet skiing, windsurfing (I need a motor for it sometimes,)

winter blahs for you?-- come down to the keys were at 72 degrees usually in december-february. big pig roasts, the whole hog! lots of fun.
  • We hop on snow machines up through the mountains and across the lake. We too take a little something along to keep us warm inside. my choice is a "taste born of hoary nights, when lonely men struggled to keep their fires lit and cabins warm, boldly flavorful yet surprisingly smooth, there is no spirit like Yukon Jack".
  • I go snowmobiling and we have a great time. We usually don't race though but it's a fun winter sport. Tony and Zippy used to sponsor a big snowmobile race for charity though I never went I always wanted too. I don't know if they do it anymore.
  • Oh Lordy yes! I live in San Diego so; Nascar in Vegas, Phoenix, Fontana. Local dirt track. CORR (Championship Off Road Racing) 20 minutes from my house in Chula Vista. Off road Nitro powered radio controlled buggy. Red Bull air races. Late modifieds at local Edit; Just got interrupted by my room mate. His buddy gave him 2 tickets for Sunday. FREE! That basturd. LOL Anyways, There's a dirt track on a local Indian reservation where they run just about everything. Sucks though. Our local eighth mile paved oval shut down. I even go to the drunk lawnmower races. US Power Boat Assc. on Mission Bay. Twelfth scale radio controlled stock cars on indoor oval much like Bristol. Xgames. Basically, if they sanctioned a race between 2 leaves falling I'd probably watch it. Just to be clear, I don't do all this stuff every week or anything like that but I do see at least 2 events per month in person and never miss a NASCAR race on tv. Enjoy the holiday weekend and please don't drink and drive. Peace.
  • Where I live right now, there's almost always a race or 2 going on all winter long. This year there's the Polar Bear 150 at Rockingham. When I lived up in the cold, icy regions, I had the chance to do some ATV racing on ice - the unstudded tire division. Now that's FUN!!
  • Are you going to be confused come time for the 2009 Daytona 500?

    May be...

  • It usually takes me a couple of races to get it thru my brain that things are no longer what they appear. I'll still look for Tony in a bright orange Home Depot car, for Carl in an Office Depot red car, and Ryan in an Altell blue car. Heck, even now when I see Kasey Kahne in that Budweiser car I forget its not Jr. To this day I have to think twice about who's driving that 22 CAT car or the Target car. My Mom doesn't even try. When we watch races together I feel like I'm taking my silly season practical, she asks so many questions. Even the announcers get it wrong occassionally at the beginning of the season.

But Tony Stewart will probably be the one I'll have trouble remembering all season.
  • I am still kind of pouty that Tony Stewart is going to be leaving that orange #20 at Gibbs. I know eventually I will get over it but it just takes awhile. And Mark Martin going to leave DEI and driving the #5 at HMS. I guess those two things are what bothers me the most.
  • With all these silly season changes affecting almost every team on the track, what will be that one change that you won't get used to until 2010?
  • I STILL have to remind myself that Jr is not in the Bud car anymore. The 5 car early this year was hard to remember that it it wasn't Kyle anymore. I think next year the toughest one to get will be the #20 and #2 cars. Tony has been with JGR and Home Depot for so long that it will take awhile to get it right.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • hell yeah -im always confused for a week or 2
it didnt used to be like that
    the good ol'days
  • Probably. I know I don't think I have ever seen this much of a mix up as far as drivers changing teams, new sponsors, numbers, crews, new teams, and new drivers coming into the series. I think the toughest thing for me though will be seeing someone other than Stewart in that #20 for JGR. That will definitely take some getting used to.
  • No i will not
  • Tom, I am always confused; but I always manage to straighten myself out just in time.

I think Mark Martin at Hendrick will be hard to get use to. I hope it works out.
  • Yes I always am, Tony Stewart in a different car and everybody else swapping rides.
  • time moves slow in the fl keys so i just go along with the flow and will go along with the 2009 nascar schedule.
    http://nascar.about.com/od/2009nascarsea...

change i wont get use to until 2010 would be tony stewart driving and buying in to haas.
  • I guess Tony not being in an orange car with The Home Depot on the hood & Ryan not being in a blue car with alltel on the hood. And Joey in the 20 not Tony. (least it still kinda rhymes). But I'll get used to it before 2010, believe me.
  • Probably next season is going to take some getting used too!
  • It'll take me forever to remember:
    Logano
    Sorenson
    Mears

I still keep thinking Mears races the 25.
  • It's gonna be hard to not see the 20 and think of Tony Stewart. It's also going to be hard for me to see Martin in a Hendrick car. =(
  • Yup! I am always confused. No only about the driver changes, but I am always confused about the whole qualifying / racing in thing also. I just wait until they tell me who's in and who's out.
  • At least my driver isn't changing anything. I just won't have any idea who he is racing against. LOL.
  • I always am. I keep a record of the race results for my family members who are working during the race to look at, and I still try to put Kyle Busch as being in the number 5. lol :)
  • Yeah Tom we are definitely going to have to brush up on the drivers before going to the track.............NASCAR is getting like all of the other sports with the free agency thing now but I think it is good for the sport.....
  • Not one bit. What's silly season? Simply drivers/owners quit/fire/hire.
  • No I'll be used to it
  • I won't be confused. I am excited to see how Tony and Ryan do, so I will be watching for them in their new cars. I'll be keeping my eye on Mark Martin too, which will remind me to look for Casey Mears in the 07 and Clint in the 33. The rest of them I will have watched enough Pre-season thunder to get to used to all changes.
  • Do you know who this driver is......? Nascar Trivia?

    May be...

  • Jimmy Spencer

1989--> Jimmy moved to the Winston Cup Series, driving the #88 Crisco Pontiac for Buddy Baker's team in 17 of the 29 races. He posted three top-tens and finished 34th in points. (Crisco)

1990--> He then ran full-time in 1990, finishing in the top-ten twice for Rod Osterlund Racing. During the season, he posted two top-tens in the #57 Heinz Pontiac and finished 24th in points. (Ketchup=Catch Up)

1991--> Spencer moved to the #98 Banquet Frozen Foods Chevrolet for Travis Carter Motorsports. Despite six top-ten finishes, Spencer dropped one position in the standings due to twelve DNFs (Banquet)

1993--> He signed to drive Allison's #12 Meineke Ford Thunderbird full-time in 1993, and finished in the top-five five times, resulting in a career-best fifteenth-place in the final standings. (Meineke)

1995--> Spencer left to reunite with Travis Carter, who was now fielding the #23 Smokin' Joe's Ford. (Smokin Joes)

2000--> After a 20th-place finish in 1999, Winston left the team, and Kmart became the team's new sponsor, causing Spencer to switch to the #26 to accommodate the new sponsor (Kmart Blue Light Special)

2002--> In 2002, Spencer announced he had teamed with Chip Ganassi Racing to drive the #41 Target Dodge Intrepid.

2006-Present--> Spencer now works full time as an analyst for SPEED TV.
  • Derrike Cope was the answer last nite....unfortunately the question was deleted....but that happens. So my question is....do you know who this driver is?

He started his career in 1989 driving a bucket of lard for Baker
The next year he tried to "catch up" to the rest of the field
He thought he had found a bountiful banquet but the team
    shut down
But then a legend came him some "breaks" but when a bigger
legendary owner called....he was eating "GOLD" for awhile
But again he switched rides because the previous wasn't
"smokin'" enough....5 years later he was given the "blue light"
for another sponsor but that one wasn't quite on target.
So he wanted something more serious......and wound up
    achieving alot of speed.
Do you know who he is? (Pretty easy tonight huh?)
  • my homestate boy Jimmy Spencer
  • Jimmy Spencer
Blue light is the name of a sale at K-Mart
    Target
    Sirius Satellite Radio
  • I knew..lol:)
  • Another great question. I won Money on a Jimmy Spencer race once. He was in the Modified tour at Thompson CT and wrecked.I was the only one our gang to watch the consi. When we all put in our money I chose last knowing he won the consi. Boy were all the guys mad. I have been a fan ever since.
  • Tony Stewart??

Oops guess I was wrong LoL! =)
    I was just guessing!

**edit: Jeff can you email me the answers from the one about Days of Thunder from last night you said I had all the drivers but I was kind of wondering if I had the cars right and who went in what car # for the ones I only had their names. I would appreciate it (I looked forever and all I could come up with was the names for those 3) Thanks (if you don't care to do that)** I was gonna email you but I can't!

    ***THANK YOU!!***
  • Heinz sponsored Rod Osterlund’s No. 57 car driven by Jimmy Spencer

More later...(As soon as I see what bestanswer finds out) ROFL
  • Cole Trickle
  • Jimmy Spencer.
  • How unique do people feel as Jr fans??

    May be...

  • I feel unique being a David Ragan fan.
  • I think an honest Ralph Jr, fan will tell you that they became his fans after Ralph Sr. died. It was a simple concept and a gutless move to blindly jump on the Ralph Jr. bandwagon.

They are so brainwashed drinking the Jr. koolaid that they still support him after he joined HMS, HMS was like the darkside of the force to a jedi before he joined them. Now they are all blindly following HMS to support their no talent driver.

    Ralph Jr. is a hack!
  • Only reason I follow his driving is because of the man-Sr.
  • Perhaps I will try a differant approach JM. No bashing no name calling. I do not feel unique at all, as a Daje Jr fan or a race car fan. I have loved anything that has had to do with racing ever since I can remember. Yes, way back to the days of the sand box and matchbox cars!

Being a Jr fan does not make a person unique. I should only speak for myself here. I am just a race fan that pulls for Jr period. Like Elliott before him and Richard Petty before that it isn't the car or the team that I chose it was the driver not only because how they did on sunday but for what they did monday through saturday. These guys are and will be ledgends in this sport long after you and I are long gone and they are but a few of the many out there that do what we only can dream of.
  • I felt, as you say, unique about 9 years ago, now------forget it. I am a loyal Jr fan but the hubbub and hordes of Jr fans bum me out sometimes. I am not going to dump my favorite driver because too many other folks like him---but if he didn't drive Chevrolet, I'd be outta there. As much as I like to root for the son of my first favorite driver (Dale sr) save AJ Foyt, I am glad Jr is a Chevy man.
  • Well, considering there is over 1 million NASCAR fans in the world, I would say it is pretty rare to be "unique" no matter which driver you support. Well, possibly JJ Yelley?!

I get so sick of reading that Jr. fans ONLY like Jr. because of Sr. There are new fans to NASCAR every year, and MANY new ones since 2001. That theory doesn't even hold water.
  • None of them stand out from the crowd
  • I'm not a Jr. fan, but I'm married to one. I asked him.

    It went something like this.
Me: Hon, how unique do you feel as a Jr. fan?
Him: Unique enough to not give a flying fvck what what your cyber friends think of me.

    That's the best I got.
  • Well I don't know how unique it is to be part of a herd. He had his own little fan base when he came in. But once his father died, those fans were left without a hero. And the natural pick to go to next was Dale Jr.
His dad had a huge following so now so does he. Huge following doesn't equal uniquness.

me? I am a throughbred. I am a Kyle Busch fan. LOL

Oh...and before everyone gets their little jockies in a knot...I too jumped on the jr. bandwagon after Sr. passed. was an ardent fan for years....
  • winter glory's husband said it best
  • it depends on which ones your talking about
I know a hard core Junior fan that put money on Kyle Busch @ Fontana. I'm a fan of DEI and I put money on Dummy Hamlin.
I bet that really strains your brain.

Are there any Aussie drivers in Nascar? ?

    May be...

  • Ambrose
  • Marcos Ambrose was born in Tasmania, is an Australian citizen
  • Marcus Ambrose
  • Ambrose is an Aussie. He is called the koala, sometimes. he drives the little debby car.

    go to this website. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DA6LuMP6s...

theres a commercial with him and a koala
  • My favorite Nationwider....Marcos Ambrose.
  • Marcus Ambrose
  • Marcus Ambrose
  • Marcos Ambrose.
  • Whats holding Dale JR. back?

    May be...

  • a lack of talent...just kidding...
  • Simple answer...he's holding himself back.
  • What's holding him back??

Lack of talent. He's in NASCAR to sell merchandise.
  • expectation is holding him back if that is what it is called, I do not think he is being held back, I do think that the expectations are so totally out of control that any driver would have trouble living up to them
  • My dad says he got the fear of god put in him when he got burnt really bad in that crash. And that he hasn't been as good of a driver since then.
  • ...his skill...
  • I really don't think he is being held back he just needs to communicate more.
  • If Jr is the 4th best driver on the team then why is he the one that is highest in the points????

The only thing holding Jr back is his ability to communicate to his crew what needs to be adjusted on his car later in the race.
  • Lack of talent is Jr's problem.
  • Tony Jr makes the wrong adjustments on the cars and Dale Jr does not communicate that well with him as to the problems he is having. I vote to get Tony Sr back as crew chief, they were a great combination.
  • SO first off I'm a busch fan but i like JR. there is no other on the track that has his attitude or his personality, but what is holding him back.
We all know he has the talent to win, and he is in one of the best teams in NASCAR. He's running up front in most the races, and i know he is third in points, he also has a pit crew that can put him out in front, they have a couple times this year, but is it Tony JR, that's holding him back.... IF he had someone like Zippy, or Chad what could he be capable of.... and I'm not saying tony jr is a bad crew chief, but it has to be something.. What do you guys think
  • he is not holding back he is trying to be as bad as Kyle Petty and .. so far so good..
  • I think we also get this question once a week to. Look at how much better he is doing this year compared to last. I am not even a Jr fan, I just love his attitude. If I had to come up with the answer it would be called Luck would be holding him back.
  • He should have checked his EGO at the front door at DEI, worked out his differences instead of making demands, stayed with Tony SR and he would still be winning races. No crew chief will help someone from making dumb mistakes on the track. No other crew chief would put up with his bullsh.t on the radio as well. He has issues and quite frankly he was better as the top man at DEI. He made a dumb move and right now his stats are showing again that he is no better at HMS then he was at DEI.

Just calling it as I see it.
  • Not enough skill behind the wheel.
  • The guy is 3rd in points and something is holding him back? He's having a pretty dam good year if you ask me. Not too mention he's won a race and if your name isn't Carl or Kyle thats not something happening much this season. If anything he's had a few bad luck situations and maybe an unnecessary penalty or two but aside from that I'd say this is a successful year for him.
  • I think it's the team, particularly the crew chief, Tony Eury Jr. Junior needs to get back Tony Eury Sr., the combo was great.
  • i think he doesnt communicate whats wrong with the car well enough with tony jr to make changes and keep up with the track
  • Jr. is basically an above average driver in a very good car that is competing with great drivers in very good cars. IMHO, Hendricks actually took a step down in talent when the let Kyle B. go and signed Dale. Looking at next year for HMS, the addition of Martin makes Jr. the 4th best driver on that team.
  • I agree that Dale needs Tony Sr back. He has not been as good without Tony Sr. Tony Jr needs to concentrate on the Nationwide series.
  • Which drivers are locked into the chase?

    May be...

  • The two drivers locked into The Chase thus far are Kyle Busch in the M&M's Toyota Camry and Carl Edwards in the Office Depot Ford Fusion.
  • Kyle and Carl are currently locked in mathematically but Jr. and Johnson have to finish 40th or better at California to get locked in so you can count them in too.
  • Carl and Kyle are the only two who are mathematically locked in right now.
  • Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards-Locked in. Junior and Jimmie Johnson just have to start the next race to be in.
  • I hate that they don't inform you of this like they used to. But, to answer your question just Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards so far.
  • Kyle Busch only for now.
  • kyle and carl
  • Does Jeff Gordon sing baseball songs?

    May be...

  • Hmmm. I would think it would be soccer.
  • Not very well, ask the people in Chicago
  • Put me in coach, I'm ready to play... today... look at me... I can be... a rainbow warrior...
  • I don't think I can ever forgive him for calling Wrigley Field, wrigley stadium. Jeff should keep his day job

    Go Cubbies!
  • Actually he does..........http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvmIxhX5L...
  • Haha he tried, At Wrigley Stadium. Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Wrigley Field, Go Yanks and Cubs.
  • He did but not very well,, he admitted that he can't sing.
  • Yes, but not very well.
  • why do u like Jeff Gordan and if you do YEAH GOOD CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 but yeah he has sang baseball songs but not very well
  • he did once in Wrigley Field in Chicago
  • Sure he does except he sings take me out to the race track, give me some cold beer and gasoline....put me in crew chief and make me go fast..... LOL
  • 27.8.08

    Edwards and Busch on probation?

    May be...

  • It means they can't not be caught in violation of another rule or they may possibly be suspended.
  • no it does not
  • Basically this "Probation" is simply put on so that if either one wrecks another, NASCAR is going to bring the hammer down upon them. Basically, any excitement that could have come out of this new "rivalry" is immediately put to rest because any further interaction between the two drivers will likely cost them points in the chase. Either way, I can't blame Carl and Kyle for sure would've done it to him... Hell, he even tried but since Carl was working the high line it didn't have as much as an effect and Kyle couldn't get by him. Then Kyle had to throw a fit like a little baby, even though he knows in short track racing this type of "Bump and run" is acceptable as long as you don't wreck the other driver.
  • No. It means they are under close watch by NASCAR, and if they violate any other rules (other than in-race infractions such as speeding on pit road, etc) they can be subject to suspension.
  • Does this mean that they can not race for 6 weeks?
  • No they have to behave themselves.

    Boring huh?

    They can still race.
  • they can race but any hope of a true rivalry is gone with the wind, with the chase at hand neither one dares try anything against the other
  • I am not just sick of the "section blah blah blah" of some rule book...I am sick of the different rules for different guys and for different times of the season. We all know that if it was Tony he would of been fined points...and we all know that if it was March not August both Kyle and Carl would of been fined points. They need to find just 1 book to follow and stick to it no matter what.
  • They are still allowed to race. If they were suspended then they would not be able to race. It does mean that if they do anything that NASCAR deems "unbecomming" they could be suspended. It also could occur in any level of NASCAR. So for example if they raced in the Truck or Busch race and got into an altercation, NASCAR could suspend them from the Cup races.

  • OH Lord!!! Section 12 dash 4 dash freaking A shows it's ugly face again. I'm so sick and tired of everything under the sun falling under 12-4-A.

I have a new theory for everyone, NA$CAR doest have a rule book and if they do it's 1 page, and it states Section 12-4-A (actions detrimental to stock car racing; PLUS what ever happened).

Its crap that either one of them got anything out of this including a stupid probation. The only thing the probation does it is guarantees fans that if they touch on the track with their cars, they could get fined under Section 12-4-A or maybe even some points deducted which really doesn't mean squat for the next 2 races because they have their places in the chase locked in.
  • Do you think Joey Logano will make the chase next year?

    May be...

  • Being optimistic, I say he'll barely make it into the Chase. Can't wait to see it.
  • No. He has never even run a Cup race and only a partial Nationwide schedule.

Tony Stewart had a ton more racing experience when he came into NASCAR and had championships in some pretty high level series.
  • no not just yet.
  • Tony Stewart finished 4th in the point standings his rookie year in cup in the 20 car, so I think the car is capable of it, but does anybody think Joey will make the chase? He will still be 18 when he makes his debut so I think he'll be in a few more wrecks than Tony was his first season, but if everything goes good I think he will be able to make the chase.

    What does everybody else think?
  • That's a good question BestAnswer, my gut says no. So far he has yet to race CUP (I realize he will before years end) I think the lack of experience may keep him out. But who knows I have been wrong before (and often). I think he'll give us plenty to "talk" about next year on this forum.
  • Since you are only asking for opinions here ya go. I honestly think he's not going to do too well. However Gibbs has ALWAYS been able to set up a car. It really is too early to tell because there needs to be at least 2 more dyno tests done this season to see how NASCAR regulates each manufacturer. this past test is the second test of the season for the Cup series and those results are still inconclusive. They usually have about 4 per season.

If NASCAR doesn't do anything to anyone's horsepower within next year then I'd say he has a shot at it. I'm still leaning toward he will not make the chase though. I might be wrong.
  • no
  • No I don't.
  • Talented beyond belief, but that would be a huge accomplishment. Stewart was a major open-wheel racer and comparable with A.J. Foyt with his ability to drive anything with four wheels. Logano will not wreck the equipment, but the learning curve on the various tracks in the "Big Show" will take one season.
  • I believe he is capable. It seems as of late down to even Tony's rookie year, the rookies always seem to do very well in that year and place very respectively in the final points. However the NASCAR of 1998 is not the NASCAR of 2009, but I stand by my opinion that he'll make it in at least.
  • They don`t call him sliced bread for nothing. With his ability and JGR equipment I think he will make the chase and win more races than stewart does this year and next.
  • He won't even come close.
  • I don't think he will.
But I'd like to see it happen.
And anything can happen so who knows?
  • I'm not sure about that I think he still is awful young and not as experienced as others don't get me wrong I think he's got talent but I'm just not sure how he'll do in his first season against some of the more experienced drivers, but hey that's just my opinion!
  • I have a gut(and its a big one) feeling that Joey will make the chase next year. He certainly has the talent and has impressed me with his running in the Nationwide series with all the cup regulars racing in it too.
  • I think he will maybe 11 or 12 place. Not any higher than that.
  • no
  • Yes he will. New generation of drivers are taking over. Tony will not make the chase.
  • no way
  • no he will not make the chase but he will finsh in the top 25
  • Probably not. Tony was alot older than Joey during his rookie season.
Joey's not even done with puberty yet and is getting a Cup ride.
That would be some accomplishment if he were to pull it off.
  • Have you ever visited a NASCAR team's shop or museum?

    May be...

  • I visited Robert Yates Racing in 2006 and bought me a spark plug and a lug nut. Elliott's car was in the front but I only seen DJ's cars in the shop. Elliott's cars must have been in another part of the shop.
  • I took the family to Hendrick last year, I thought it was pretty cool how they had a bunch of cars from the past all over the place, even in the shop buildings they even had some of Tim Richmond's cars and a car that Schrader totaled at Talladega in the museum, hell they even had a Days Of Thunder car in the museum. Of course the thing that threw me for a loop was the pic of Dale Sr. in Victory Lane with Rick(found out later that HMS's first Busch win was with Sr. driving). One odd thing though 24/48 shop is harder to see into than what's now the 88/5 shop(must be to hide what Knaus is up to, just kidding folks). I plan on visiting there again just so I can get even more free Jr stuff(I've already gotten stuff at work, the National Guard, and Chevy), and next year Stewart/Haas, and JR Motorsports.
  • Jeff Gordon once visited Jimmie Johnson's ''museum''.
  • I'm from Randleman (Richard Petty's hometown) and his new museum is much bigger. It's at the old Shaw furniture building a block from downtown
  • Even me living out in Calif now, I use to live in NC, been to JR Motorsports, DEI, HMS, JGR (when they had Chevy's) The old Petty Enterprises over in Level Cross, and RCR and Robert Yates. Even the old Holman & Moody Shop. I miss living in NC, being a Nascar fan living in Calif kinda sucks.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • no.. im not into nascar
  • No i haven't visited nascar team shop or museum but if i do... it have to be Elliott Sadler since he is my favorite driver.
  • No but that would be fun. If I did do it I'd visit HMS and JGR...hopefully I will before all the drivers I cheer for now are out of the sport lol.
  • I'd love to see NASCAR team shop's, but I live in Illinois. Someday, I will visit them.
  • Never been but I think any of them would be nice to see. Regardless of the rivalries they all entertain us each week and seeing any of their operations would be an honor. I got a kick out of sending an email to Cotton Owens website once and I never even saw him race so I know I would really enjoy seeing the shops. One of the bigger honors would be seeing Richard Petty's place. He's the furthest back I can remember seeing and is truly an icon in NASCAR history.

Even though I have ill feelings with DEI I would still love to visit it and would enjoy meeting Teresa Earnhardt, regardless of her and Dale Jr's past. I'd also like to see ole Junior's place for the heck of it just to say I've seen it.

I often go online and get on Google Earth and pinpoint all of the shops trying to get an idea of where everything is located. I daydream about making a run to all of the shops in the area (Joe Gibbs also).
  • Living in NC I find myself sometimes taking it for granted that all of the teams are basically in my back yard. I have visited nearly every Cup team shop and about half of the Nationwiders. So my question is...have you ever visited one? And if so....which one(s)? If not....do you think you ever will? And if so who's would it be????
  • I've been to JGR, KHI, RCR and DEI.

JGR is amazing, seeing all of the trophies, memorabilia, and the shop

liked the openness of KHI, no glass wall, you look right down on the shop, it was very cool.

RCR was cool, they were loading the haulers for the Coke 600 when I was there.

DEI was ok if you are an Earnhardt fan, but you'd never know they had any current drivers, it's all Dale, and not that that is a bad thing, it just would have been nice to see something that showed they appreciated the work of their current drivers.

  • I never have but I wish I could spend about a month in or around Mooresville. If I lived in NC I would never see the light of day for being at one or two everyday.

Thanks Jeff C. Its been a dream of mine since Ive been following Nascar since 1988-89. My wife and I would probably never leave. LOL J/K Ive got a 10 year old son and 12 year old girl that love it here. I will get up and see it before I die.
  • Do you think Casey Mears will win for RCR?

    May be...

  • He might luck out once the rest of his career.
  • Yes...I think he will. I hardly think he is going to take off like Kyle did once he was away from hendrick but I am looking for him to do so much better.

    Not 7 wins though....lol

(I know you were being sarcastic TBone, I know how you feel about Casey)
  • 7 wins. Next year is his year.

  • well, look at kyle.you know, almost every great racer drove for hendrick at least once
  • i think he will
  • NO
  • No. The end.
  • I doubt it.
  • Yes I do. Next year will be Casey's year.
  • I think he will. He will probably take a little while to settle in but by mid season he will come on strong and may get a win by the end of the season. If not the first, I think definitely the second.
  • In terms of shear-speed probably not. In-terms of fuel mileage most likely. He has not had a car capabale of winning a race on shear speed since Texas and Homestead in Fall of 2005 and that was with Ganassi Racing!
  • yes

    GO Casey!!!!!
  • He'll have a better chance than this year that's for sure. Casey is a very good driver and with RCR he will diffidently improve his chances of winning. Watch as Mears climbs toward the chase next season compared to this season. Right now he is 24th in the points. With RCR he should be close to making the chase next year...and a good chance of getting in. Watch and have fun...good question
  • Nope.
  • mabe, that would be cool if he got a bunch of wins and so did reed sorenson with his new team.
  • Win last place and some more DNF's
  • I think he might get 1 win.
  • casey is in hendrick equipment now and yea yea i know he's really in the old 25 car but when brian vickers had it he was running in the top 5...so casey cant even crack the top 10, let alone the top 15 and he was in hendrick equipment, now he goes to RCR, do you really think he'll do better in a team thats not even running that good....NO for me
  • No, unfortunately I don't. I hope he can, but his confidence has to be torn to shreads don't ya think??? In the #41, then moved to the #42, then moved to the #25, then the #5, and in 09 the #07. The #5 is a quality ride and he's not getting the job done....the #07 is a quality ride....just hope he proves me wrong. Where's he going in 2010?
    Just an opinion.
  • I hope he does he needs a break so I'm hoping that he can get at least one win!
  • i doubt it but... ya know once kyle busch left his team for JGR he well ya know has been winnin a LOT lately so idk if casey will win next year like kyle is this year but hopefully he'll get a win or 2. close 2 the chase is a possibilility but he'll need top 10s which i'm sure he'll get. bascically next year with RCR will be a whole lot better than last year with Hendrik
  • T-bone what are you smoking, 7 wins don't think so..But I'd like to see him get a win or two, he is on another team with 3 other big guns, who can win.. I'd like to see him do well. Some how the last name Mears, he just hasn't lived up to it..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Not the first year but maybe the second
  • hopefully
  • NO
  • 26.8.08

Sorenson to GEM! Good move for GEM?

    May be...

  • Reed? why? JPM runs better than him...he should just go back to nationwide
  • Yup. He needs a team that can focus on him and making him good. They are focusing too much on Juan problem at Ganassi.
  • I don't have a problem with it I think that Reed will keep getting better and hopefully he does well with GEM! Just my opinion though!
  • He better not replace Patrick Carpentier...
  • where did you see that does that mean dario will be driving the #41?
  • i think it will be a good move,,
  • Sorenson!! Why?? Who's he going to replace?? I kind of like Patrick Carpentier. Hope it's not him.

I've never seen anything out of Sorenson that would make him a good replacement for anybody. Meh.
  • I would rather GEM keep Patrick Carpentier. I really like the guy. He is only going to get better and he has showed signs of running with the big boys. I have nothing against Reed, he is a cool dude.
  • Well it's a good move...lets see what he does with it now.
  • Which of these marquis drivers will not win a race this year?

    May be...

  • I'll say that Mark Martin and Kevin Harvick will not win a race this year. I think the other 4 mentioned have a great shot to win a race or 2 but a couple of them will also be win-less at the end of the season.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • Mark Martin and Kevin Harvick
  • I don't see Mark Martin winning a race. I think Tony, Jeff & Kevin will win at least 1 race in the Chase.
  • Matt Kenseth :(
  • Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, Kevin Harvick.

It is unreal that these guys haven't won this year........What do ya think!?
  • Mark Martin. Though I want him to.

Out of all of them, I would expect Stewart or Gordon to have at least one win by the end of the season.
  • Mark Martin
  • Jeff Gordon, he's too hot and cold, when it rains, it rains. I would take Mark Martin off that list, that is too obvious of a pick with his struggles of the last 3 years.
  • Martin and Harvick.

Marks next win will come with Hendrick.
  • Yeah, what do you think the odds would have been that none of those drivers would win a race by now at the beginning of the season. Its been a two horse show this year. And we all thought the days of one or two drivers dominating was over! But the tides will change, they always do. Biffle will not win, nor Martin. Kenseth, Gordon, and Stewart will get one each somehow...maybe?
  • It's odd that none of those "greats" haven't won this year but this could be a "changing of the guard" year....happened to Petty, Yarborough, Rudd, Wallace, all had a year or years where no wins came.

If I had to choose....I would have to say that none of them will get a win. NOW BEFORE YOU THROW ME UNDER THE BUS...LET'S EXAMINE MY P.O.V.

Stewart----------does he really want to take Toyota to victory? NO!
Gordon-----------does he focus on racing like he used to? No! Family
man now, he sees the big picture and will retire at 40
Martin-------------Will DEI win a race this year? Would love to say
yes, but don't think it'll happen. Too much drama.
Harvick............just doesn't seem to be having the type of season
    that produces wins

Of course this is just my opinion....I am sure MOST IF NOT ALL will
disagree but that's just the way I see it.
  • Mark Martin/Tony Stewart. They will both win one next year. I don't think Jeff can win before the Chase, but I think he will maybe win at least 1 in the Chase. And you just never know about Harv.
  • I don't think Mark Martin or Kevin Harvick will win this year. I wouldn't have said that about Kevin at the start of the season, but he is having trouble lately. He did end up with a good finish at Bristol though. Tony and Jeff are coming to some tracks that are historically good for them. I bet they will have wins before the end of the season.
  • I think Jeff Gordon's best shot for a win is this weekend in CA. I don't think Mark Martin will win this year, I don't think Kevin Harvick will win this year. I'm undecided on whether or not I think Tony Stewart will win this year.
  • I'm gonna say Mark Martin, he already has a Nationwide win for this yr, but I do not see it happening this yr... But I think Jeff Gordon & Matt Kenseth will see victory lane, Smoke maybe Harvick probably. If Dei gets a win I think it will be Truex Jr.. I also think da Bif will se victory lane also. Jeff Gordon has some great tracks coming up,I just can not see him going a season without a win.. My Jeff Gordon buddies are in a major state of depression, now they know what it has felt like to be a Dale Jr fan during his loosing streak, that he had.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Which Nascar (EA) Game is the best?

    May be...

  • EA nascar 2001 and 2009
  • Of the two I have (NASCAR 08 and NASCAR Thunder 2002) I like NASCAR 08 better. However, NASCAR Thunder 2002 is easier to play, and has some features that are better implemented than NASCAR 08. I really want to try the Atari/Infogrames NASCAR games though... I've heard they are great!
  • obviously i just got Nascar 07 Yesterday it's good other than the graphics are Kinda bad compared to Nascar Thunder 04
Which do you think is the best?
  • NASCAR 09 since it's the most modern and up-to-date and has the best graphics. 05 is pretty good also.
  • The old Dirt to Daytona is far and away the best NASCAR game but I don't know if it's EA or not. I don't know about 07 but I rented 08 and 09 recently and they don't even come close to Dirt to Daytona.
  • NASCAR Thunder 2002 and 2005 Chase for the Cup ( Harvick on Cover) are my favorites. The new one is better than the last few but still needs improving. Hopefully NASCAR will release the license to some other gaming company.
  • NASCAR 98, nascar thunder 2002 and NASCAR 2001
  • What song reminds you of your favorite driver?

    May be...

  • danika patrick i wanna kiss you all over
  • Tony Stewart

"Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple & "Smokin" by Boston
  • Dairy of Jane by Breaking Benjamin reminds me of Denny Hamlin.
  • Gimme Back My Bullets------Dale Earnhardt
  • Running on Empty.....still waiting on Petty Enterprises to turn it around. Still hoping, still praying, still watching.
  • Remember the name reminds me of David Ragan.
  • Steve Mqueen

    Earnhardt Jr and Tony Stewart
  • I don't think of any driver specifically from any song, but I always think of NASCAR in general when I hear Flirtin with Disaster. Partly I think it comes from the NASCAR 98 video game I have, but it also fits NASCAR pretty well.
  • I will remember you.....

They played it when Richard Petty took his final lap around the track as a driver.
  • Add others if you want
  • i'm a simple man - matt kenseth
  • We are the Champions by Queen reminds me of Jimmie Johnson and Chad.
  • one more day- dale sr... obviously
    rockstar-jr.
  • "Blitzkrieg Bop" reminds me of Matt Kenseth, but I'm not sure why.
  • Rev on the redline by foreigner reminds me of the king...The song came out when I first got heavy into nascar...
  • That's easy, " My Hero" by The Foo Fighters, reminds me of Dale Sr. every time I hear it. There was rumors swirling that the Foos were gonna perform that song at the Nascar Awards Banquet in 2001. But Nascar nixed the idea in favor of Garth Brooks, performing " The Dance" instead.
  • "real wild child" by iggy pop was written about rowdy, except before he was born... http://www.metrolyrics.com/real-wild-chi...
    ;-)

    then there's this one:

    Here he comes
    Here comes Speed Racer
    He's a demon on wheels
He's a demon and he's gonna be chasin' after someone.

He's gainin' on you so you better look alive.
He's busy revvin' up a powerful Mach 5.

And when the odds are against him
And there's dangerous work to do
You bet your life Speed Racer
    Will see it through.

    Go Speed Racer
    Go Speed Racer
    Go Speed Racer, Go!

He's off and flyin' as he guns the car around the track
He's jammin' down the pedal like he's never comin' back
    Adventure's waitin' just ahead.

    Go Speed Racer
    Go Speed Racer
    Go Speed Racer, Go!

    ;-)
  • That country song that says "I'm a real bad boy but a real good man." Something like that. Anyway, it reminds me of Tony Stewart because there are about 20 different you-tube videos about him w/ that song.
  • Has anyone seen the full 2009 Cup series schedule yet?

    May be...

  • You don't need to see it, it is the same exact schedule as this year except for the date switches for Talladega, Atlanta and California.

  • Here you go. Read it and weep:

EDIT: Jeff C has it right about that Labor Day race. I might have to drive UP to see it. Although I'd rather drive up to Darlington, Atlanta will work too!
  • Nunya's got it for ya....I really like the changes...especially the Labor Day event being at HOTLANTA....make have to drive down and see that one....anything would be better than Snoozeafornia!
  • I would like to see it if someone has the link to it.

Will Matt Kenseth ever be on the cover of an EA game?

    May be...

  • They don't announce it until a month or two before the release but I don't see why not. Elliott was on one!
  • I dont think Kenseth will ever be on the cover, unfortunately. Kenseth is a very good driver, but he just doesnt have the appeal of some of the other drivers that would likely get chosen over him. I wouldnt be surprised to see Carl Edwards or Kyle Busch on the cover of next years game.

As for a website that would list them, it doesnt exist. EA decides who is going to be on the cover of all their sports games in the few months before they release the game. They always make it a huge deal, with a press conference and all that to announce who their cover athlete is. It would kinda kill the suspense if they had a website listing who was going to be on the cover for the next couple of years, huh?
  • Maybe next year.

I don't why Gordon is on the cover of 09 with no wins this year. Heck, he's like the entire frame of 09.
  • dont think thats gonna happpen Matt may be my fave but they do not seem to put him on a lot of anything, they are dumb for that one in my opinion
  • I doubt it. He's not the most marketable driver. Although like someone said, if Elliot Sadler could make it on there he's definitely got a shot.
  • It depends on if he does really well the previous season. Expect Carl Edwards or Kyle Busch to be on the NASCAR '10 cover.
  • Is there any site that would tell who will be on the cover for the next couple years
  • They plan on putting a babe in a bikini on it to sell more to their most popular consumers. Dudes!
  • If he wins another championship, then perhaps he can share the cover with someone. They need a really high-profile person on the cover of those games. To the NASCAR world- yeah, everyone knows who Matt Kenseth is, but everyone else who's buying these games may be more familiar with the Tony Stewarts, and Dale Jr.'s. Sorry hunny.
  • I bet he will.

I couldn't find a site that tells who will be on the cover in the future.
  • history shows they like chevy guys, i was a bit dumbfounded why elliot was on the cover but i been wondering why guys like kenesth, edwards havent been on the cover...jeff gordon and tony stewart are always on there and i have a feeling with jr in new colors, he will probaly be back on the cover for 2010
  • I made a custom cover of Matt Kenseth on the cover of NASCAR Thunder 2004, it may not be much but here is the direct link to it. Just cut it out and put in your box over your old one.

  • Is Spa gonna to be an easy circuit especially for overtaking?

    May be...

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorspo...
  • I am wondering how many drivers will be able to make it through the whole race without retirement except those due to car problems.
  • A back marker car is a another race car that's much slower and/ or a lap down on the lead cars, in the video Mikka Hakkinen uses Riccardo zontas lapped car to overtake Micheal Schumacer. Report Abuse
  • Yes, well I hope!!
Spa is considered more of a drivers circuit and less of a horsepower circuit, so the skilled driver can overtake reasonably easily.

This is a great Spa overtake, though not the best ever as the video optimistically says, it involves using a much slower " back marker car"

  • Busch brothers trivia question (nascar)?

    May be...

  • wernt they called the bash brothers the all star race
    and earlier at martinsville
although u and winter are having this conversation that was my answer
  • this will likely end up getting deleted like most of my questions, but here goes:

the first race the busch brothers crashed into each other -
what was it called, how long was it, and where was it?
  • they got into each other during the Castle Rock Court 500 in the cul-de-sac near the Busch family home. Kurt was about 14 years old at the time; Kyle was about 7.
  • zooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
  • We all know it occured at Daytona in 06
  • I'm pretty sure the only time I've seen them wreck each other was at the All-Star race last year, if there was one before that I don't recall it.

They did? It is? It's total chaos at my in-laws on race day, must've missed it.
    I remember the crowd roaring.
  • Darn it I give up, I have a google induced headache looking for the answer. My guess is it was at the Bullring in Las veags when they were racing each other there in Legends cars back in 1999.

Do you Matt Kenseth is hot/hawt?

    May be...

  • No but i like his skills
  • Sure. If it makes you happy. Sure, I guess so.
  • Will leave that answer to the ladies, but he does add to the excitement of the chase and generally a good sport as well as competent driver.
  • I think he is kinda cute but just for you I'll say sure he's hot!!
  • No but I'll be at your wedding to him. Wouldn't miss it for the world.
  • isnt that jeff gordons ex?????
  • Unless he has a fever or something, no.
  • Do I what hot/hawt. He's a mumbler, slurs all his words together. Seems like a nice guy though.

  • Who will win at Fontana? top 10?

    May be...

  • I just hope that neither Kyle Busch or Carl Edwards finish in the top 10 there. I'm so sick of hearing about them and their rivalry. I want to see somebody else win for a change. David Ragan would be cool, or Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle....

  • Should Edward and Bush punish by 100 points because of bad sportsmanship?

    May be...

  • yes they should and will be penalized
but since it real close to the Chase and are all ready locked in 100 points wont even matter since they reset the points
what they should do is take away the bonus points they earned
Busch has a short memory because he did the same thing to Edwards all ready this year..and he will do the same thing to win a race
  • Busch should be definitely but not Edwards. Busch was unsportsmanlike after the race was over but Edwards was just racing and trying to win, you name one driver that wouldn't do what Edwards did to win!!
  • Yes
  • Yes, they are immute! Fair is Fair with other drivers!!!!
  • NASCAR penelized Juan Montoya after he hit Kyle at New Hampshire, why shouldn't Kyle and Carl get penelized?
  • naw thats nascar racing, but i do feel mandatory burpings should be mandated for those that need them.... BUSCH!! Report Abuse
  • It was after the race was over. Speeds were low, but none the less, it was unsportsmanlike on both sides. What ever the penalty is, both should get the same.
  • No I don't think they should. It's great they both showed personality and put the icing on the cake of a great race. NASCAR should take them to the trailer smack them on the wrist...and let them go. It was Dale SR., DW, RICKY RUDD, ETC the personalities that made me fall in love with racing in the early 80's. I don't think NASCAR should penalize drivers for bettering the excitement. Just an opinion as always.
  • Hell no! This sport is not based on being a wimp!
  • Yes but he should be Kyle not Carl
  • Haha, I think that he recieved enough punishment by throwing a temper tantrum and being embarrassed by Edwards in front of thousands of people after the race, but then... LOL.

  • Edwards gave Busch the Bristol Bump and Busch throw a temper tantrum because the poor little baby didn't win. Maybe if they punish somebody it should be Busch because he was the one who ran his car into Edwards car after the race,.after he did this he wound up in front of Edwards car and Edwards had to give him a little push to get him out of the way. I think N.A.S.C.A.R. should take Busch out to the wood shed and use the hickory switch on his spoil-ed brat butt to teach him to work and play well with the other drivers. It would make things a lot more interesting if they took 100 points away form Busch. It would turn into a two horse race.
  • Yes. Since others have been punished doing the same thing, it is only fair that penalties be given. I'm not sure if 100 points is what others have gotten, but NASCAR should be consistent.
  • No. Its short track racing. They have been bumping and running since they figured out they had a front bumper.

My guess they will get something because NASCAR has been pretty strict in the past about playing around after the race.
  • I wondered that last night. It will be interesting to see if they get punished. I personally think they should not be punished because
    Bristol is Bristol.
  • i think nascar should give them each bonuses. they not only made bristol exciting again, but they've really ratcheted up the excitement level for the rest of the year...

as for the comparison to the montoya-busch incident, that happened under yellow, and you don't mess around under yellow. they could have taken out other competitors who had nothing to do with their problems with each other. it is more like the tony stewart-kurt busch thing before the bud shootout. at most they should be put on probation, but that would probably take half the excitement out of the rest of the year.
  • no!!
  • If you were driving the #99 at tonight's race...what would you have done?

    May be...

  • In Carls i would have nudged him like he did to get him loose enough so i could pass and i would have completely turned into him like Carl did once i was bumped.

In Kyles I would have tried to block said push and probably take both of us out. So -shrug-
  • 1-If I were in Carl's position, I would've done exactly what Carl did. Push me, I'll push back.
2-If I were in Kyle's position, I would've just let it be. Carl did nothing to warrant that, I mean come on...
  • I would have done exactly what both drivers did almost. I would have moved Kyle and if I were in the 18 car I would have hit the 99 a lot harder after the race.
  • I would have used the bumper trying not to wreck the other driver. Carl did it perfectly. We all know Kyle tried to do the same. He is simply disappointed because his attempt failed. I can't blame Kyle for his anger, but, all these drivers forget about who they have bumped, or wrecked in the past. That is why they are competitors and fun to watch.
  • aw if only we were but we're not nascar drivers so...cant answer that one
  • It's not like Carl spun him out or crashed him, he just did a nice bump and run..and I would;ve done the same. Kyle always overreacts when it is done to him what he always does to others. If Kyle, I would have let it go.
  • I'm surprised that shrub didn't hit him harder. But this stuff is what I'm talking about!!! Let the drivers race and let them have a personality! I think the fans at Bristol should all get together and tip the 'Nascar Hauler' on it's roof. Rubbin's racin' - isn't that the rule?

Add: It kind of reminded me of days where Earnhardt and Waltrip were at it. Or Cale and Richard. That is what makes the racing exciting. Let the drivers race.
  • Carl's. I would not mess with Rowdy for an extra 15 points and 10 in the chase It's a curse I tell ya look at the last person to contend with him, Dale.Jr he has stinked badly lately, Kurt Busch after the Nextel All Star Challenge 2 years back consecutive finishes of 17 or worse 7.
Kyle's I'd spin Edwards and then radio in to Hamlin and say to run him over. And then to Stewart and Stewart to Newman Newman to Kurt Kurt to Matt Matt to Greg Greg to David David to Jamie Jamie to Casey Mears Mears to JR and Gordon you get the impression that I don't like Carl Edwards.
  • I think what carl did was right he should have gone for the win and he did. If Kyle was in carl's position he would have done exactly the same thing. I think "the fireworks" after the race just shows how much passion Kyle has and how much he loves to win.
  • I woulda wrecked Carl. Yes I would have hit him after the race. Call me a sore loser but after the race my emotions would be running high like they do with any good driver so I probably would have hit him. Then by tomorrow morning all would have been good
  • You couldn't have done anything better than what Carl did. And to prove what he did was right, look what Kyle did immediately after the race was officially over. And look how fast Carl reacted to "spank" the young Busch. Kyle shows us how deceitful he is. Carl is just a methodical race winner.
  • I would have put Howdy Doody in the wall, joe gibbs racing have been cheating all year anyways.
  • I can't say what I would have done but Carl could have really messed up the 18 but he only gave him a nudge and spun him around. And in the post race interviews he refused to trash talk against Shrub. That's a class act. I'm an even bigger 99 fan than I was before. What a show!
  • 1. Same thing as Carl.
    2. I would've let it go. I already have clinched the #1 seed in the Chase. I don't need to worry about much except winning the Cup.
  • Just think it's a relavent question for tonight. If you were in Carl's shoes or Kyle's for that matter.....what would you have done??? Would you do what you had to do to win....or would you settle for second. And if you were in the #18....would you have had fireworks afterwards?
  • if i were carl i would do what he did bump take a lead and go like he said busch did it to him at richmond and as for the bumping afterwards if someone does it to you do it back if not than your are being a girly dude

and busch need to shut his whing homo butt and take second place like a man not go take a cheap shot a carl he did the same thing to carl in richmond and if i recall edwards didnt go bump so busch you cant win every race so take second place and go to next weeks race
  • If I were in the 99 car I would have spun myself out so Kyle would win lmao.

If I was in the 18 and all that happened like it did I probably would have done the same. Even if it didn't warrant it I would just be too upset losing a race I dominated and wouldn't be able to hold it all in.
  • I agree with Winter Glory. Carl did what any other driver would have done to win. Everyone says they want it to be like it used to, this is how it used to be. Guys would move other guys to get the win. Kyle is the most bump-happy driver out there. He could be 3 laps down and he would bump the leader to get a lap back.

I just want to add Winter Glory's answer proves why she is one of the smartest and most respected people on here. She is one of the biggest Kyle Busch fans here but she still is very fair in her answer and she isn't biased. She tells the truth. Thank you Winter Glory for showing everyone else here how they should be. You have helped me, I know that for sure.
  • Tonight was a great race.

If I were Carl Edwards, I would have done the exact same thing that he did. Like Carl said in his post race interview he though "would he do that to me and he has before". Payback is a you know what Kyle.

If I were Kyle Busch, I wouldn't of done that after the race. He is a sore loser and what does it matter once the race is over. It's not going to change the outcome. The only thing Kyle did was put some damage on both cars that the crews back at the shop have to fix. There was no point to his "payback". And Carl did NOTHING wrong.
  • I would have done exactly what Carl would have done... Sorry Rowdy.. This is the begining of a great rivalry, if these two guys take it to far, the guy in 3rd place might have some fun with this.. Calif next week..Carl & Roush is good there..Bring it on..

    Go Dale Jr & hms
  • I agree with Win Glory, if someones pushes me, I would push back.

    Go Dale Jr.!!!
    Junior Nation!!!
  • I'd of done the same thing [get my bonus pts. to start the chase]
Sure i'd of been ticked off if I were Shrub [lead all them laps, then be shuffled out]
Shrub was just getting some air back in his lungs! It's Bristol?
  • The exact same thing. It doesnt matter if I was in the #99 or #18. I loved it, great race.
  • Who agrees bristol wasn't that exciting?

    May be...

  • The race sure didn't live up to my expectations for a night race at Bristol. It just isn't that exciting to watch cars get strung out so far that tne most interesting action on the track is a lead lap car trying to pass a lap car. I had some friends over to watch it and we ended up watching preseason football more then the race. The gap between the elite teams and the rest of them keeps growing, and by doing so decreases the exitement of the races. On any given weekend, only about 6 - 7 drivers have a real shot at winning a race (barring any fuel or tire issues)
  • A better word for it is nerve wracking.
How would you like to see the #99 in your rearview mirror for over 300 laps?
  • Every bristol race is exciting. My driver didn't win but i still enjoyed the race.
  • i hate watching a race that i like and watching one driver rule the whole race, the edwards got to the lead and sped of to win, no close finish, 1 out of 2 drivers were going to win and on top of that the 2 drivers were the only 2 i didn't want to win.

on a related note, who hear wants anybody to win races except kyle or carl.
  • was we watching the same race cause i seen one hell of a race! It was the best one in a long time. i love dale jr but i also like anyone who is keeping kyle from winning which has been carl for the last few weeks. so i
    say go carl
  • Gotta disagree to man
Like Fluffy said., Them poor lil M&M's was show enough
    ''melting in somebody's hands 2-nite
  • I wish Kevin Harvick would have won, but it was a great race in my opinion. I felt bad for Jeff Burton, but he didn't lose his place in points.
  • Got to disagree.....best race of the year. It's Kyle's and Carl's year. It's going to be a great rivalry!!!
  • Not me! That's absurd!
  • NASCAR period is not exciting anymore,no more Earnhardt,Rusty,The real Rocket Man Ernie Irvan,The real Ironman Terry Labonte,Davey Allison,Kulwicki and Ricky Rudd those were the good days of Nascar.kyle busch looks like Howdy Doody and Tony Stewart is an Idiot
  • I disagree. I thought it was a good and exciting race. While Kyle led most laps, there were lots of secondary races for postion, for "lucky dogs" and I thought JPM was great giving anyone trying to pass him a tought time. Isn't that the way its supposed to be? And besides, even though Kyle led most laps, he didn't win. Carl's pass was definitley exciting and entertaining. And then Kyle's little hissy after the race just added to the entertainment factor. I've been to worse Bristol races.
  • The first and last 100 laps were exciting, the middle were boring.
  • The Carl and Kyle show is getting pretty boring to me.
  • i agree, the frist 500 laps were boring, but the 501st was the best.

i was thinking if harvick got up there, he'd ruffle kyles feathers
