Who would you say is the better Stock Car driver?

May be...

  • This is a tough question because Jr. is much more liked according to fans. I think they are both very good. Yeah Matt has a championship. He was with the right team at the right time. If Dale Jr. had those teams instead of Matt Kenseth the roles would have been reversed. I've seen Dale dominate a race and get knocked out because of someone else or engine failure. This is a very good question...Thanks
  • Matt Kenseth, hands down.
  • Matt Kenseth's championship edges him ahead but stats don't lie. JuneBug is better than The Brat this year.
  • Matt Kenseth !!!
  • Just by numbers alone both are pretty close to each other, Jr has more wins (18-16) and the top-5 and top-10 numbers are pretty close too each other
    Here's the numbers
    Jr
Starts Wins Poles Top-5 Top-10 DNF Avg Start Avg. Finish
    314 18 8 83 133 41 16.4 15.0
    Kenseth
    315 16 6 84 155 31 15.0 20.1
So aside from Matt's Championship in 2003, there's not a whole lot of difference.
Jr beat Matt for 2 Busch Titles and Matt edged out Jr for ROY in 2000.
Damn, in the time it took me to put this together someone beat me too it :-)
Wow, bigmac, even when actual facts are presented that shows the drivers in question are about equal you still continue to bash.
  • I would say they are about even. They have similar stats other than Kenseth winning a championship and Jr finishing 3rd (I think). Jr beat Kenseth 2 times in Busch.

    Jr
    starts - 314
    wins - 18 (5.7%)
    top 5 - 83 (26.4%)
    top 10 - 133 (42.4%)
    avg finish - 16.4

    Kenseth
    starts - 315
    wins - 16 (5.1%)
    top 5 - 84 (26.7%)
    top 10 - 155 (49.2%)
    avg finish - 15.0
  • Matt Kenseth is the better driver. He has a championship and he also is more consistent than Dale Jr.

But Dale Jr. is still a good race car driver and is doing better this year though than Matt.
  • Dale Jr. or Matt Kenseth......??
  • Matt Kenseth is known as Mr. Consistency, he won the last Winston Cup in 03 with only one win, and beat Junior for the Rookie of Year honors. No offense to Junior though.
  • Matt Kenseth
Like everyone else said, he is much more consistent and has had more success then Jr. has in his career so far.
  • Jr no way around it.
  • Statistically they are close enough for me to throw up both hands and flip a coin, but maybe Kenseth by a gnat's whisker, although tomorrow could change that for this year. However, I can hardly ignore that Kenseth does have a championship to his credit on the overall scorecard, but Junior is still in the race.
  • Kenseth. He has had a much more consistent career and a championship to boot.
  • Matt Kenseth, of course! Not that Dale Jr. is bad... but Matt is way better :)
  • around a tie
  • me they both suck
  • I would say Matt Kenseth is a better stock car driver and plus he has made all chases!
  • Matt Kenseth has only had one championship. He was consistent that year only. After that he has really not been doing much. I say Dale Jr. is better.
  • are you kidding? jr. of course!!!!
  • Matt Kenseth is [no doubt]
  • Matt Kenseth
  • Kenesth hands down..even though i am a Jr fan am also fan of Kenseth, so best of both
  • Kenseth...
  • i'm a Dale Jr fan as you all know but Matt is a real good driver so i would have to say Matt! i'm sorry Jr i still love you!
  • Depends which track....over the course of their careers...I say it's been pretty even except for #17 winning the championship in 2003. They're both great drivers in my book. If you're asking for my opinion...I would say Kenseth...just because of his consistency over the years.
  • Big Jr. Fan, but I think Kenseth may be a better driver, knows more about the cars and has a championship
  • Junior!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • definitely Kenseth
  • Matt Kenseth hands down.
anybody who claims otherwise is nothing but a foolish uninformed dreamer.
  • 17 No need to explain.
  • What Ever Happened To...?

    May be...

  • no one knows
  • think he went back to open wheel, could not cut it as a Nascar Driver for now, not sure , have tried to search for an answer and came up empty on this one, sorry
But losing sponsorship was the deal splitter
  • Loss of sponsorship I guess.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jacques_Vil...

    Quote:
He lost his ride in Bill Davis Racing's #27 car due to a loss of sponsorship, two days after he caused a pileup in his qualifying race, when his car oversteered, then slid back up the circuit, colliding with another car.

With no sponsor for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series. Villeneuve joined the SPEEDCAR Series for the remainder of the 2008 season.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speedcar_Se...
  • Lack of sponsorship so BDR cut the team.
  • he lost sponsorship at beginning of season thugh he did ran the nationwide race at montreal.....

  • Where do I find frequencies for my bearcat nascar scanner?

    May be...

  • jayski.com
  • Jayski has all the teams' frequencies. You can also buy a list at the track for five bucks but don't waste the five; you can just print out your own!
  • Here is the list:

    http://www.jayski.com/links/scanners.htm
  • i a usually give mine a good wack and the darn thing goes to a frequncy right away.
  • David Ragan and UPS?

    May be...

  • I hope they sponsor him. I believe he would be a good addition for UPS. He still kind of up & coming & he doing great. I believe it's only a matter of luck & time before he wins his first of many races.

I see it as a win, win for both UPS & Regan.
  • Ragan would be a great spokesman for any sponsor. Didn't know you were a Ragan fan - you're not bailing on Kyle already, are you? lol

Sorry that your previous question got deleted. I was curious to know how the J M (s) were not trolls. : )

    <<<In honor of Gloria_512 - innocent victim of trolls>>>
  • that would be cool i guess, but it would be extra cool if they let him race the truck!!!
    ;-)
  • It's all good as long as he does not get the letters UPS tattooed on his face
  • i think it would be smart for both parties. ragan is starting to get better and ups need a chance to run up from and mwr is just not gettingit done.
  • David is doing so well and I think only hints at what is to come with this guy.

Kudos to UPS for jumping at the chance to sponsor him. It's a great financial move for sure.
  • NASCAR Scene magazine is saying that David is the front runner to be the new face of UPS, AAA has opted to leave David and Roush-Fenway at the end of the season.

I'm a big David Ragan fan, so I'm hoping he gets it.
    What do you think?
  • a young squeaky clean image is just what the parcel giant wants nascar is the only place where fed ex is doing better than they are they want to run up front and its a ford
  • i think that would be so awesome for his career! i also think he would make great commercials with it too!
  • I think it would be a great fit. David is up and coming star in Nascar and would do UPS justice. Its going to be hard to be better than Dale Jarrett in the commercials though. I hope it happens!
  • I hadn't heard that....but that'd be a great thing for the young driver...definitely think he's going to be a future star. Still, I was hoping that Reed Sorenson and Richard Petty would be driving the truck with a big ol #45 on the side....oh well. Guess it was just another false hope. Anybody want to buy Cheerios by the case....I need to get rid of them by the end of the year...real cheap!
  • that WOULD be a cool deal
  • It is all marketing and he would be an excellent spokesman for a company "on the move," since he is a rising star in NASCAR. But it will be a tough time topping some of the commercials DJ cut for UPS.
  • I hope David and Roush get UPS, they've been doing so well and improving every race.
  • That would be good for him. A Young face of UPS. It would be very neat to see him have that sponsorship.

  • So am I

my grandfather got me a whole bunch of autographed david ragan discount tire (it was personally for me too thats sick(in an awesome way)) stufff

so i hope they(discount tire) stick with him but for the cup side I hope he can get a good sponsor like UPS

    Ragan races the truck 09

    Dale Jr.'s Qualifying Effort?

    May be...

  • I wouldn't say bad car... more of a struggling car. He struggled throughout the first practice. I think him and Tony Jr have something for tomorrow night. You know how Jr races here don't let that Qualifying effort take you down. My Man Menard qualified there a bunch of times and wounded up finishing in the top 25. Trust me Dale Jr will be up there by the end. Good Luck to all of Jr Nation, Rowdy Nation, Kurt Busch Nation, Elliott Sadler Nation, Kenny Schrader Nation, and My 2 Nations Truex Jr Nation and Sideburns Nation!!
  • He is running out of talent.
  • Best car, not the best driver. Season going downhill fast.
  • Driver and car showed up, crew chief didn't
  • He got loose out of turn 4, and he wasn't the only one. Every Rousch car did too, with Carl Edwards smacking the wall (even though he starts 1st), and David Ragan crumpling his car. Jimmie Johnson was horrid loose but saved it. Tony Stewart wiggled a bit out of 3 and into 4 as well.

Qualifying times were so tight, there was just no room for error.
  • They were having set up problems and so were a lot of the teams. From the looks of things in final practice they have something figured out. Junior always does good at Bristol and has come from the back before. Don't count him out just yet. Keslowski started thirty something and is in 3rd place right now. =o`)
  • Ya what the hell happened i was out and missed it.
  • what did happen i missed it to
  • Wicked Loose, almost everyone was having problems today..even Jimmie Johnson and Smoke..was surprised also that Carl smacked the wall but ended up on pole, WTG i say to all of them, that's Bristol for sure and we'll be stomping with them to see who came overcome and end up in the front!
  • Dale
    r
    i
    v
    e
    r

    Earnhardt
    r
    r
    o
    r
  • Did he by any chance spin off of Turn 4, because I saw he started 40th and I'm surprised. He does well at Bristol. Did he have a bad car or what?
  • pretty sucky
  • At bristol, the pole winner to about 30th was separated by less than a half second i believe. All it takes is one slip and you are 30th. I wouldn't worry too much about it. A lot of the cars at bristol are better than they qualified.
  • So nascar women can appreciate a fast guy on the track ?

    May be...

  • =O

Oh my!! How do you know we don't appreciate a fast guy? Do you have alot of experience with this sort of thing? They have pills for such problems now a days and little jingle to boot, "Viva Viagra" lol...I'm just kidding with ya!

Some things are better fast, others............not so much.
  • ahh i am a fast guy in the bed room and a slow guy on the track. im a more appriceiated on the track.

  • Well it's not really fair when he has crossed the finish line before we even shift gears now is it?!
  • because then he doesn't have time to get you off... duh
  • why not one in the bedroom
  • Did you hear that Jeff Gordon's wife is leaving him? She caught him in bed with her boyfriend.
  • Who takes the pole today at Bristol??

    May be...

  • This is the week the 88 team will turn things around and get back into the hunt, not that he's out now by any means. I say he takes the pole, leads the most laps and puts the 18 in the fence in the last 5 laps. PAYBACKS A B%&^CH!!!!!!!!!!
  • I think Jimmie Johnson or Carl Edwards,
  • I hope it is Jeff Gordon
  • Gordon FTW!
  • jeff gordon is always strong there
  • I say Gordon............
  • Gordon is known to take a good pole
  • Probably Kyle Busch BUT i really hope its Jeff Gordon
    Go 24!!!!!!!!!
  • As much as it pains me to say it, Kyle Busch.
  • probably punk as*s kyle busch......much as i hate to admit it

and atlas is right....gordon has been know to take a pole or two hahahaha and hopefully will get put into the wall along with his little buddie jimmie

and i'll be there to see it sitting in turn one

BRISTOL BABY there is no other
  • I agree Lenny, Gordon seems to have a good car and i am hoping no bad luck!
  • Mark Martin!!!
  • Katie Kenseth
ok fine i will actually answer...Matt Kenseth
  • Tony Stewart is my pick. And/or ryan Newman.
  • I'll say Jimmie Johnson, he had the pole there in the spring.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • i think its going to be Kyle or Carl
  • I have to agree...Gordon. When I read your question before I saw your choice the first name that came to mind was Gordon.
  • I like your fantasy pick but I will say Cousin Carl.
  • kyle bush will take the pole today and win tommorrow
  • Tony Stewart
  • Martin Truex Jr
  • long shot guess, but i'm going with elliot sadler.
  • I agree with you and also say Gordon (Jeff that is).
  • JOHNSON!
  • I am going waaaay out on a limb here and saying Kevin Harvick comes in on the pole today. He likes Bristol and has been getting a bit better every weekend and staying consistent.

  • i am going to say
    99
    9

  • My favorite track is Darlington.

To Superdave!!! Probably one of the nicest guys on here. Enjoy your day friend.

    In honor of Gloria!!!
  • Atlanta
  • Honoree questions returning!?? Whoo-hoooo!!

And congrats to Superdave. Have a great day!

My favorite track? I'll have to go with Lowe's. There's just something about it that makes it so exciting.
  • Congratulations Superdave.

    Gloria, come back soon!!
  • Superdave's wife here. He isn't only awesome on Y/A he is an awesome husband too! He has a wonderful personality, great sense of humor and he is just so much fun to be around. It is never a dull moment at our house. Thank y'all for honoring him, I think he is pretty special myself. My favorite track is Bristol. It is what racing is all about for me!! Congrats Dave, you are my Superhusband.
  • My favorite track is Bristol because I think it is the most exciting racing but I sure hate it when it comes to fantasy scores because I always seem to take a hard hit just like some of the cars!! Hopefully my luck changes Saturday night!

    Congrats Super Dave!!
  • Bristol will always be my favorite track, even if I do achieve my goal of going to every one! (Thats probably not going to happen, but what the heck!)

Have a very wonderful day, Superdave.

Welcome to QWERTY. Always nice to meet another fan.
  • Congrats Superdave.

My favorite track? Bristol. Nothing like it, even though the racing is less than what it used to be. The atmosphere at that place is it's own beast. It's awesome.
  • talladega with COT

    bristol with any car

  • as much as I love bristol, it's always a crapshoot..... Richmond is such a great venue, especially live.

I have no clue who Superdave is yet, but congrats anyway. Looks like a great community here.
  • Alright, Superdave is awesome and I am glad to honor him. Maybe Kurt will win another one at the Bull ring to mark this occasion. Have a good one Dave but I'm still not going to "tank" this week for you in our fantasy league. Martinsville is my favorite track, or as I like to call it Johnsonville!
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • My heart is with Charlotte MS (because I'm a North Carolinian) but my favorite track is Talledega.

Hi everyone, I haven't posted here much but I hope you'll give me a big southern welcome!
  • Thanks a bunch VP and to everyone that has answered. It really means a bunch to me that you guys think of me that way. I am very humbled. I wish for the sake of this forum that we as Nascar fans will come together and quit the bashing, hating and down right ugliness that has showed its ugly head alot in here lately. Nascar is a great sport to be a part of, not everyone is going to like the same drivers and a little competitive sparring is good for the sport as well for us fans as long as it doesn't get personal and just plain ugly. I'm sorry for carryng on here but I had to say my 2 cents worth on all this stuff that's happening lately. Thanks again guys yall mean the world to me!

In honor of Gloria, she is truely missed in this forum. I hope she comes back stronger than ever.

My favorite track is Texas. I'm a homer but I love it. Bristol is a close second followed by Richmond.

Great idea Tom in bringing this back.

  • Congrats Superdave for being so honorificable!

My favorite track is Gateway. Although it's not in the Cup series, it is my local NASCAR track, and it always seems to hold some great races. Its winners seem to progress nicely in Cup, and who can hate a track that's so close to the hometowns of Kenny Schrader, the Wallace Brothers, and Carl Edwards?
  • Favorite track... Darlington !
    Favorite Brother... Superdave!
    Gimmie a T for Texas
    Gimmie a T for Tenn.
  • What is your favorite track?

I am announcing the return of the honoree questions. It's too easy of a way to brighten someboday's day. Now I'm rhyming. lol

Today we will honor probably the most respected on here...

    Superdave

    Enjoy your day!
  • It used to be Bristol but over the years I have started to like Daytona the best.

Congratulations Superdave! One, if not the best, answerers here IMO and I always enjoy reading his Q&A's. Have a great day!
  • My favorite track is Dover because it's where I saw my first real race, my first TV race, I live close to it, Jr. won there, and I love the Monster Mile plus concrete tracks are BEAST!
  • Superdave..

    Good answers.........

And from what I hear, he does not smell..............

    Enjoy your day.

Favorite track, the late great Rockingham....
  • I would say Bristol is my favorite, but congrats Superdave!!!
  • Dover. Congrats Superdave!!!!
  • Dover(my home track) or Bristol

    and
Bristol is a really unique track out of all of them

    nicely put Mountian Dew Fan

    have a nice day superdave
  • Superdave is a great friend and contact on here with a terrific attitude and a wonderful knowledge of Nascar! He is a great assest to this section and Nascar Nation! And I'm honored to have him as a contact! So enjoy your day, superdave you deserve it and thanks for your answers and questions on here and for never bashing on others just the plain truth on Nascar! Have a good day you both!
  • Bristol because I live so close to it.

Superdave - Your answers are always informative. I've learned a lot about NASCAR from you. Thanks!

    I really miss Gloria!!!
  • Congrats SuperDave !!!!! My favorite track ,well it's a tie between Talladega and Bristol .
  • My favorite tracks are my "home" tracks...the ones I go to every year..>Watkins Glen, Pocono, Loudon, Dover, and the farthest south I have been is Martinsville and that was so much fun for a small track!!!

    SuperDave!
A great contributor to this section and such a nice guy too.
it's an honor to honor him today!!!
  • My favorite track is probably Pocono before they brought the CoT to the track. That killed any competitive racing there.
  • <<The Monster Mile Dover Raceway>>

To Superdave! A Friend, A Great Buddy and by far a Legend on this NASCAR Section. When I first started on Y!A I met Superdave and he helped me alot.

So to you Superdave! You deserve this honoring the most. Thanks Buddy!
    Have a Great Day!
  • You are right Superdave is pretty well respected around here, and it does brighten everyones day to have nice things said about them.

Have a fantabulous day Superdave! You deserve it.
    Just for you...Goooo Blue Duce #2 ;)

My favorite track is MIS. I go there at least once every year & this year I got to go twice....wa-hooo!!!!!

Here is to Gloria as well, I hope she is able to return soon. Nasty little usless Trolls.

Welcome Qwerty! Always nice to have another NASCAR fan join in!
  • WTG Superdave, enjoy the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite track is Darlington, The Lady in Black, too tough to tame!
and we finally got out name back SOUTHERN 500, but yet to get the day back...but maybe, just maybe, hoping and praying they give the original date back, it was a southern tradition!

used to be Rockingham, The Rock..but sadly to say, Nascar took it away but Andy Hillenburg is breathing new life into her,!
  • Superdave, you da man, one of the best and most respected Nascar fans on this forum.....My favorite track, The lady in Black Darlington, cause I love tracks that are just too tough to tame, and you gotta love those Darlington Stripes.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Superdave is truly deserving of his name - he's a super guy. Have a great day, Dave!
I'd also like to take this opportunity to honor Jessi, because I think I missed her the first time around. Can you see me rolling for you? lol
Honors and much appreciation goes out to those of you who contribute so much to this site.

    My favorite track is Bristol!

***In honor of Gloria_512 - innocent victim of trolls***
  • Which Nascar driver has the best style?

    May be...

  • I hate to say it, but I think Jeff Gordon is hot now-a-days... he dresses nice, but casual... and is lookin good to me. But Dale Jr. is still sexier.
  • IMO Jimmie Johnson wins the best dressed award when they aren't at the track.
  • junior and kasey kahne are both fairly well-known for the jeans and t-shirt casual style. gordon and johnson are better known for being more stylish in a more metropolitan setting. jeff in particular always looks stylin' every time he and ingrid "appear" on TMZ.

but from pictures and videos i've seen, i'd have to go with the "rowdy" style - the extreme sports/surf-and-skate wear casual style, and i lean toward that. although i personally can't pull it off at my age, i like that look in general when worn well.
  • I'm with daleje4ever on this one Jr's got my vote!
  • I'm not a dress up person so I say Dale Jr, nothing like Wranglers and a good T-shirt.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Scott Speed
  • Dale Jr. - I like the casual appearance. I dress up for church only.
  • Matt Kenseth
  • To me it would be someone like Elliott Sadler or Dale Jr with just Tshirts & jeans. But im not even close to being Tommy Hilfiger or anything.
  • when they aren't wearing their race uniforms of course
  • Jr. does, cause you know he wears casual stuff, a shirt and jeans. He does look good in those Wrangler jeans! :)

    Go Dale Jr.!!!
    JUNIOR NATION!!!
  • 21.8.08

What Nascar team is your least favorite?

    May be...

  • JGR

    Reasons:

    1. Kyle Busch is dominating way too much!!

    2. They had the Chevy switching to Toyota bullcrap!!!
  • Ganassi
  • Hendricks
  • 1st is DEI, terresa is destroying SRs company, next would be gibbs for dropping chevy and going to toyota
  • Joe Gibbs Racing.

    Here's why -

    - I hate Kyle Busch
    - I dislike Denny Hamlin
    - Stewart is leaving soon
    - Logano hasn't been the most decent guy in the Nationwide Series
    - Joe Gibbs switched from Chevy to Toyota.
  • HMS (like any1 else said its not the drivers but rick)
  • Any that Stinky, tina, bunnie and mandy, Mongo luvs rainbow, #14chevrolet, Sheldon A, slash, and her many other accounts like are my least favorite.

Gloria will come back and tell you all the truth about Stinky.
  • I don't pick favorites
    They're all just "the competition"
  • DEI, because Teresa has destroyed what once was a great racing team.
  • I have been a non-supporter of Hendricks since I was 8 years old, I am 24 now. Only two drivers have raced for Hendricks that I liked, those being Terry Labonte and Jerry Nadeau.
  • I dislike Kyle Busch, and don't really care for Denny Hamlin. I guess it would be Joe Gibb's, though I don't mind Stewart, and it's too soon to make up my mind about Logano.
  • Roush/Fenway because all Jack Roush does is complain, and cry
  • It's just my opinion but DEI is least favorite not because Jr left, i do like Truex Jr, but DEI forcing him to sign another year(they had option to let him go but did not knowing he wanted OUT)..
    That is my reason..

I will not bash teams or owners or drivers...just say, if your hand is in cookie jar and chocolate on your face..then you're TOAST! and you all know who i am talking about..
  • I am gonna have to go with Winter Glory on that one.....HMS(nothing to do with the drivers......All Rick Hendrick)
  • 15-Menard. I mean, why is he even in NASCAR except for his daddy. Yes, you could call it jealousy on my part.
  • Every team but roush and yates are my least favorite.
  • I think it could be Hendrick [just because they have too much cash on them they are a lot like the New York Yankees of Nascar] And Gnassi [for a team that was great a couple of years ago they have really screwed themselves with bad reckless drivers] Juan Pablo,Reed Sorenson no offense Reed but top 40's may seem good to you guys but it's not good enough.
And by the way they used to have Casey Mears and Jamie Mccmurray 2 subpar drivers and now they have Juan Taco and Reed 40thSon
  • My least favorite team has to be any and all teams that finish ahead of my beloved #43. I wish Kleenex would sponsor them next year...it might make the crying a little easier.....LOL.
  • i would have to go with joe gibbs, im a person who likes older things, older cars and music as well as veteran nascar drivers. next year gibbs will have kyle busch, denny hamlin, and joey lagano. all either new or relatively new, which practically makes them one big team of newbies. tony stuart was my favorite driver at gibbs. im not saying the team is no good but they have to race for a couple years before i have total respect for them. im starting to respect denny more but not kyle and definently not lagano. (im not fond of lagano, i dont quite know why)
  • There are one or two drivers from each team that I don't care for. I wouldn't say I don't like them, but whatever. I wouldn't say any team has the edge over any other right now as to who is my least favorite.

To JM above me. Dude please stop saying I am that chick you don't like. I am just new, but that doesn't make me a troll. I haven't done anything to insult anybody. Look at my profile or answers. Ya'll seem like nice enough people. Let the other users make up their own minds. I don't stand a chance of getting taken seriously here if you are going to bash me right off the bat.
  • i was gonna say Hendricks but then I agree with DEI Theresa is ruining the whole company but the good thing is {even though I dont like him} Jr will step in at the last minute and own 100% since Theresa didnt want him having 51%
  • Ganassi
  • Furniture Row... Even though I like Joe Nemechek, what they did to Kenny Wallace last year was totally uncool. Joe hasn't proven to be a performer for them. I don't think the Daytona start this year was enough to apologize to Kenny.

    Just a thought...
  • I can tell by your name that you aren't going to like my answer but for me it's HMS. And I'm like Winter Glory and agree it has more to do with Rick Hendrick than his drivers.
  • HMS
But I do like #24 'Wonder Boy'

Rick is moron and a back stabber.
  • Sorry...it's HMS. I wish Jeff would leave there but that isn't likely.
  • HMS (has more to do with Rick than any of the drivers)
  • I absoultley hate Hendrick.
Gordon is such a bloody whiner its not even funny
Johnson is a moron and chad knauss is a real dick

Jr is ok but i wish he would have gone somewhere else.
  • HMS, i cant wait till mark martin comes over next season.
  • Now it's starting to be Joe Gibbs. I use to not have any problem with them but due to the recent CHEATING and learning more about some of his fans it makes me despise Joe Gibbs and Kyle Busch. Some of his fans are just unreal.
  • I have a favorite driver on every team. Hamlin is my favorite in JGR and Mears is my favorite in HM.
  • Nascar Bristol motor speedway parking question?

    May be...

  • My family is going down to bristol for the race this weekend. My uncle has a municipal issued handicap sticker valid in NJ. We are trying to get a spot in the handicap area because it hurts for him to walk. Bristol motor speedways website says that it has to be state valid. is that the same thing as municipal valid?
  • I don't understand what you are asking.

Handicapped ID's for parking must meet the Federal Guidelines for the Americans with Disabilities Act.

I would call Bristol guest information at 423-989-6942 and ask them specifically what they mean.

A handicapped parking id given out by NJDMV should be valid in any State. I know they are valid on Federal Government sites. (My late mother was handicapped)
  • I agree with Tom P .....I WOULD CALL FIRST. But it should be valid. Tenn and NJ different states...different laws....better be safe than sorry.
  • What do you think of casey mears?

    May be...

  • I don't think he is horrible, but I agree he will never be as good as Jimmie, Jeff, or Jr. I met him a couple of times. He is a really nice guy!
  • He is a good driver. He knows how to race. I take the same crap from people about Paul Menard. They are all great drivers.
  • hes an average driver and how do people get top contributer badges and not know a thing about nascar? that #5 car they "never put much in to" has won a championship.
  • I've always like Casey. He has a lot of potential. Unfortunately he gets caught up in some wrecks. I wanted him to make the chase but doesn't really look good as of now. There is always a next year but will continute to root for him!
  • I like the dude, but for whatever reason he can't keep his butt in a ride. Moving around between cars @ CGR and then swapping teams to Hendrick only to have the same crap happen...

Hopefully if the rumors are true, he will end up in that #07 @ RCR and if he can stay there for atleast 3 seasons he may do something finally.
  • I'll tell yah. He stinks.
  • he cant drive. some people dont know that he signed with rcr already their trying to keep it on the low he is getting in the 07 jack daniels and clint is getting in the 33 general mills
  • You never heard me say he was crap. And I have said since day 1...that when finally leaves Hendrick Motorsports and gets into a decent car he will take right off. Maybe not quite as good as Kyle...but who is??? lol But he will do so much better than the beer coozie salesman thats for sure.

Hendrick was never ever known for putting much into the #5 car. Wait'll next year.
  • He might be a great guy and all, everyone improves through time and experience and practice makes perfect but sometimes the teams aren't willing to wait that long for people. Hope he does better whatever team he goes to though.

Look what happened with Kyle! Great guy and a lot of talent!
  • I like him... he's kind of a fox.
  • I'm really not sure what to think of him. He's most likely going to be my favorite drivers new teammate next year. I like the fact that he seems to get along well with his teammate and is a clean driver but performance wise I'm not sure. He has had a had a hard time at Hendrick the past few seasons and with all the CC and team swaps I don't think he has had a chance to really settle down and show his full potential. Still, if (when) he does go to RCR I expect it to work out. Richard isn't an idiot and I don't think he would put Mears in his car if he didn't have some faith in him. I don't think Casey will go out and set the world on fire like Kyle has (although wouldn't that be hilarious!) but he is consistent and won't tear up equipment. Which is exactly what a new team needs.
  • I'm sure he's a nice enough guy and all, but seriously, he's mediocre at best.
  • Im tired of people calling casey mears crap, in 2003 he finished 35th in points, then in 2004 he made an improvement and finished 22nd. 2005 he finished 22nd again, then in 2006 he made his way to 14th in the points and in 2007 he got to 15th yet people say hes no good. just because he cant keep up with jimmie and jeff and jr, doesnt mean he is no good. What do you think?
  • What Do You Think About Hendick Motorsports?

    May be...

  • I think they will be great next year. I am excited about Martin's move, but he'll only be there for the year. He is really trying to win a championship and I hope he does. He's great and deserves it.
  • Mark Martin is a great guy and an average driver. Not sure how he will do this year but i would have liked Casey Mears to stay regardless of his record. I think he has potential. About the question, i LOVE Hendrick Motorsports. GO 48!!!
  • Rick isn't a fraud.
But they're doing pretty good this year.
3/4 of them are in the chase, Mears needs to pack it in. He's been crap on the team... Rick should have kept Kyle.
In a way, I think Dale Jr. is a bit of a let down. He IS doing better then last year, but not the best. He's only won one race due to rain. If he's going to win, he needs more.
But Rick has a great team... look at the back-to-back championships from Jimmie, and I THINK Jeff has had 5 or 6 now.
Other then Dale Jr. and Mears, the team is amazing... too bad this year Jimmie is the only one who has a chance winning considering Gordon hasn't even one once yet this year.
  • I think they will do well next year. Jeff Gordon is a veteran. He has not done that well this season and I do not fault it at all to his driving. In addition, Jimmie Johnson is an awsome driver too. Dale Earnhart, Jr.; look how well he has done this year! Mark Martin has been driving such a long time, he will be a good back bone, I think, to Hendrick. Furthermore, I feel that Hendrick will definatly get thier stuff down with the quirks of the COT when they come back in Nascar season 2009.
  • Next year hendrick motorsports will have 4 class A drivers. how do you think they will fair next year. And what do you think about mark martins move to hendrick.
  • I think that hendrick motorsports rules and next year they will be even better with that Mears guy out of the way.
  • I think Mark Martin is a very smart man to make this move. I think Jeff Gordon needs a new crew chief.
  • I think Hendrick is the best team out there. Mark Martin is a great teamate. But I think what has been slowing them down this year is they focused so much on the car of last year that they're still trying to work out the kinks of this one I think they will dominate next year.
  • Everyone said they'd have 3 Class A drivers this year, but that's not turning out so good, at least not this deep into the season. In the preseason we heard how it would be the most dominate team easily this year, when actually they let the driver go that's dominating with 3x as many wins as Hendrick combined.

Next year we'll see, but I think there will be a lot of conflict...Rick won't know who to satisfy.

Hendrick was always my favorite team but not anymore. Rick is a fraud.
  • They'll be okay and so will everyone else. When NASCAR takes a few more tests and impounds Toyota's cars and busts them down to size and lets Toyota know they can't cheat then everything will work out.
  • I love Hendricks! I think they will do much better next year! Can't keep that team down for long! Mark Martin will be good for them! Now all 4 cars can finish in the top 5!
  • dont know....no one can contain that much talent...too much of one thing is a bad thing.....thats like having 5 Kobe Bryants on the same floor...SURE they're really talented, but TEAMWORK???

When it comes down to it....Jimmy And Jeff are the only ones who are with HENDRICK for life....or until retirement...well maybe not Jimmy but Jeff for sure
  • I think Dale Earnhardt Jr has made Kyle Busch a better driver, don't you??

    May be...

  • I think this might be a bit of a stretch there dude. I do agree that Kyle Busch is more driven to prove himself this year because of HMS kicking him to the curb, but I don't think Junior had anything to do with Kyle's success.
  • Yes
  • It didn't make him a better driver, it just got him out of that piece of crap 5 car into something he could actually win races with
  • No.
  • Just think about it, if this move never happened then who knows how Kyle would have been doing this year. I think the #18 fans should be embracing the #88 instead of bashing him. Like everyone has said, this move has been beneficial for BOTH drivers. I think this has made Kyle more driven to prove what a great driver he is.
  • I would give more of the credit to Rick Hendrick. I think more than anything Kyle wants to prove to him that he might have made a mistake. In the end I think the move worked out in everybody's best interest.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • They have definitely brought out the better in one another.. As far as KB fans embracing JR fans?! You got a better shot getting Mark Martin to retire, again.
  • This was something that worked out for both parties. I think there are already fans that have embraced the other driver but the ignorant ones wouldn't understand anyway.
  • To be honest with you I think it's 2 things in addition to what you said.

    1) I think him driving in the Truck series helps. Those truck are real loose. If a driver can get the feel for a loose car then the old saying is "loose is fast" will apply. That's one advantage.

    2) Toyota has also had an edge with Toyota's horsepower.

Gibb's has always done a good job with setting up cars. Tony Stewart's championships in Chevy and Pontiac just goes to show that. Given Toyota's extra horsepower, and Gibbs previous success along with Kyle's experience in different series has been the right mix. I said at the beginning of the season that someone who can drive the car sideways will have the best chance for being successful. The COT will not turn and making it loose is how to get it to turn. That has benefited Kyle. Some of the veteran drivers that have been around for a while that has hit the wall hard a few times are scared to get the car sideways.

In the same Hendrick cars though Kyle wasn't as successful as his teammates but he was still a good driver.
  • I never thought about it that way, but yeah. You're right. Mr. 18 wanted to show HMS what they let go in the beginning of the year, and he's transferred that into a Championship Run. I don't think he'd have as much determination if he had never been kicked out.
  • The move has made both better drivers and that is pure fact, Kyle dominance proves he is a winner and not a whiner, Jr's move proves that DEI had inferior equipment and HMS has better...as for a rivalry between the two, lets keep it real...they are racers and want to win every week..compare to last years performances for both, this year has proven that Kyle is very talented and he stands alone, Jr has proven that he can and will make the chase without the pressure of DE, and yes..4th in points for Jr is 100% better, at least he will make it, most likely not win the CUP..but can run with the others, as for Kyle..we haven't seen the real deal in a long time and now we are!

No bashing is needed for either drivers, they each are very different and have their own styles and personalities..love them both! I say KUDOS to both and let's go racing boys!!!
  • I think Kyle and his move made him a better driver. Nothing much to do with Jr. He was being let go from HMS before Jr. ever came into the picture. Perhaps more of the credit should go to Joe Gibbs for allowing Kyle to unharnass his talent?
  • Of course Kyle got the better deal. Rick Hendrick's been kicking himself where the sun don't shine since Atlanta last March.
  • i think your right.part of the fuel for kyle busch is the 'rivalry' this year with jr. also i think hes still mad at hendrick for 'letting him go' from last season. i respect both and think both even if being rival have been good for each others driving. look at how well jr is doing this year to compared to last..also kyle busch to.
  • no because kyle busch has a Toyota and dale jr. has a chevy
  • Interesting analysis Lenny. Kyle's a competitor, and always has been.
And your right about no one knowing how he'd be doing this year had it not have happened. Kyle would have at some point had a break out year at HMS. It may or may not have been this calibur of a breakout year, but it was only a matter of time before it happened.

I've never had anything against Jr. and it may have been beneficial to both parties, but realistically, Kyle got the better deal, and I can't pretend he didn't.

  • Do you think jr. nation should get out of kyle bush,s way. ?

    May be...

  • yes they should, because Kyle Rocks!
  • They should get out of his way how? They should stop rooting for their favorite driver just because he doesn't win every week. Wow, I guess I should have stopped liking Bobby Labonte a long time ago. He hasn't won since 2003!
  • Jr. is a pretty good driver. Its just that he hasn't always had the best equipment to get the job done. Now that he's at Hendrick, look out! Kyle Bush is a whiny little pip-squeak.
  • if kyle busch has 17 wins in all 3 series, how is Jr. Nation 'getting in his way'?
  • jr. is a has been. look out for the rest of the pack.
  • By that logic, anyone who hasn't won yet should be out.

Get rid of Stewart, Gordon (both), etc.

It's called competition, and someone has to win, someone has to lose, the rest are in the middle.
  • I don't like or dislike Junior. He is an average driver but has a huge following. Usually in sports, people are fans of winners. NASCAR is the exception. The number of people who actually support him is puzzling to me. Kyle and drivers like Carl Edwards have fewer fans but do their talking on the track. Kyle Busch is not my favorite driver either but he is a winner and he deserves the credit.
  • Maybe after the findings that JGR has been cheating, we will see how many more Kyle Busch wins..................Sorry, where there is SMOKE there is FIRE.
  • Most fans pick good guys and bad guys... if Junior Nation wants to antagonize Rowdy, that's their prerogative. Heck, it just so happens my arch-nemesis (Clint Bowyer) is seen as a GOOD guy by A LOT of people. Just let it be.

But the throwing of debris has to stop. If you're going to throw trash onto the track, throw white trash.
  • I don't quite understand how us members of Jr Nation are in Kyle's way, we sure haven't stopped him from winning have we? And most of us are big enough to admit how much talent Kyle has and how well he's done this season!
  • Is Matt Kenseth Hot/hawt or what?

    May be...

  • Okay.... I have the answer you're looking for Jes!!!

    Are you ready for it?

Matty Matt is the HAWTEST little hottie stud muffin, EVER!
He's the yum-yum yummiest little Roushie-poo!!!! And I could just squeeze him to pieces and kiss his wittle face all day and night!!!

    Am I right?
  • Okay I think Matt is a little cute! Will that work for you cause I can't really say I think he is hot but will you settle for cute? LOL
  • he's hotter than a fart on a hot summer day
  • Yeah,is that you in the pic smacking with him!
  • Between Kenseth, Stewart and Gordon, OH, and JR..Those guys dont even look at girls..They have alternative lifestyles.
  • Kenseth's driven his way into my heart, but Tony Stewart is the hawtness...

Give me a driver with Kenseth's skill, Stewart's hawtness, and Dario Franchitti's voice... yum!
  • I'm a guy so... no.

    Geez calm down! lol
  • I don`t think so. Who knows?? I am a man. I value your opinion. So if you say so who am I to disagree. Btw thanks for all the best answers . You are great. Keep up the good work.Write me sometime.
  • Honestly I think he is fugly... sorry.
  • or what.
  • I'm sure his wife Katie thinks so... Okay I say he cute, he looks better than some of the driver out there..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • no just a great driver
  • xD
  • Is Matt Kenseth Hot/hawt or what?

Well I guess i am going to have to go with "or what"

LOL Seriously he's...well...hot OK? There i said it for you. JUST for you OK???
Please don't make me say it again.

    Is Kyle Busch the Antichrist?

    May be...

  • More like a savior
  • Wait. Jr came down on Kyle.

I'm just sitting here watching the kid in awe as usual. Amazing.

Amazing. Just wearing guys down until they can't handle it anymore. Wow!
  • no he is not and that argument is OLD
  • Because he wrecked Junior?
  • tbones an idiot kyle got lose and hit jr they were both at fault for raceing to close
  • You spelled loser wrong.

And no, he is not the anti-christ. It's not like he's an evil corrupt person. From what I've heard he's actually a nice guy.
  • No Mike Helton's mustache is.
JM left handed people are evil? What century do you live in? chicksh*t.
  • I thought we were over that and no he's not!
  • No
  • no he is not
maybe you should go to the religious section
  • Dale Jr is, that's why he's left handed. Left handed people are evil. Don't buy Jr's gimmick.
  • you've broken the code my friend, congratulations. notice that he drives the 51 truck and the kyle busch motorsports cars are all numbered 51 as well. as we all know, 51 translates to "5" is number "1." and we all know that "5" represents a pentagram, which is a "satanic" symbol. thus, his car number means "satan is number one."

great work sherlock. they should hire you as a code-breaker at the nsa.
  • Come on now that was quite sometime ago I am a JR fan and i wrote it off as a racing incident why can't you haters let it go
  • your in the wrong section dude come on is jr even christian in any way
  • No, he's actually here to save us from Jr. and bring exciting racing back!
  • NO ! But I think Wedge might be on to something !
  • He's just a jerk !!
  • Whos your favorite NASCAR driver and why?

    May be...

  • The trolls are gonna eat me alive for this one. Dale Jr. After my man Sr. died Happy Harvick was my fave as he drove Sr's cars. Jr. had to earn my respect. It doesn't hurt that I drink Bud and red is my favorite color either. I was nearly suicidal when he changed sponsors. I come from a long line of middle class working folk and Jr. is the epitomy of the working class attitude. He works hard, doesn't whine, doesn't talk smack, admits when he screws up(even takes the blame for things that aren't his fault), and defends his team at all costs. He is one classy redneck!
  • One that doesn't drive because its a waste of gas. NOT a sport!!!!
  • Kenseth he is honest clean driver mostly consistent and in my opinion simply the best
  • Bill Elliott because he worked hard to get into the sport and he was rewarded with a Cup championship, two Daytona 500 wins, a win at the Brickyard, a spot in the 50 greatest NASCAR drivers list, and 16 Most Popular Driver Awards.
  • Stewart.
Because he doesn't put up with any crap from anybody, anywhere at any time.
He's getting back in a Chevrolet.
  • Jeff Gordon and Kyle Busch

    ...because man they can drive!
  • Carl Edwards because:

    1. He drives a Ford (and I love my 2005 Mustang).

    2. He's only 2 3/4 years older than me so he can remain my favorite for a long time to come.

    3. He won the 1st race I ever attended (Oct 2005 Atlanta).

    4. Rusty retired & I've looked for 2 1/2 years for a new favorite. This year he's proven he's it.

    5. He's a Roush Racing driver & Jack Roush & I share the same birthday.

    6. I love his style of driving. his desire to win, his determination, & his refusal to give up.

    7. I like how he give away many of his trophies.

    8. I love his smile, it just lights up & his blue eyes.

    9. I love how he apologizes when he's done something wrong, always thanks the fans, & seems to never be in a bad mood.

    10. I love the backflip.
  • The guys at DEI

  • Dale Jr.
There are a couple of reasons.

    1. he's not cocky
    2. he doesn't let crap get to him
    3. he stays positive
    4. his temper is good
    5. he doesn't let media get in the way of racing
    6. he's got mountain dew on his car. MOUNTAN DEW!
    7. give me a reason I shouldn't like him.
  • Matty Kenseth

    cuz himz is the best
  • DALE JR., because he is the son of the INTIMIDATOR.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  • I answer this question all the time.. .lol..

Dale Junior because he's a great driver, even better person, goes for what he wants, and he's cute as a button.
  • What song reminds you of your Favorite NASCAR Driver?

    May be...

  • Born to be Alive...and Drive..lol...all 43 drivers

I have too many favorites to name a song for each so I covered them all
  • back in black -----for dale earnhardt and days go by --- for all of em
  • rock you like a hurricane makes me think of kahne, i even put it on my ipod

    i love that commercial!
  • the road i'm on by 3 doors down

junebug is in the music video for pete's sake!
  • Dale Jr.- ''I love Nascar'' Jeff ''Gay'' Gordon- ''Jeff Gordon's Gay'', ''As good as i once was''. Since he's Gay and washed up.
  • Wild Thing!
  • lol, my favorite is dale earnhardt (dead, poo) but wont back down by tom petty reminds me of him, so, yeahhh...
  • I don't know about a song for my fave... but a song that kind of reminds me of all the NASCAR drivers and the hard times they go through from time to time, especially the newbies, would be "Drive" by Incubus.
  • "hey good looking" reminds me of cale yarborough. that sounds weird. it isn't because of his looks or some homo thing, though. when i was growing up we had an 8 track called nascar goes country, where a bunch of drivers were singing various old country songs, and that was the one he sang.

Last night I had a crazy dream
A wish was granted just for me
    It could be for anything
    I didnt ask for money
    Or a mansion in malibu
I simply wished, for one more day with you

    One more day
    One more time
One more sunset, maybe Id be satisfied

I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still, for one more day with you

  • How many more times are they going to change the name?

    May be...

  • I hope they will stick with the Sprint Cup this time. I still have trouble not calling it the Winston Cup. I guess I'm not the brightest bulb in the chandelier.
  • So many things in NASCAR have changed since I started watching. I liked it better when smokes and beer were sponsoring everything. Free Winstons and Busch can't be beat. I think that's the way God intended NASCAR to be.
  • the name will change any time the sponsorship changes, sorry folks but money talks....jmo but get over it.

does it matter what it's called as long as it's called RACING!!??
  • are you
    ?????????
    ??????????????
    ?????????????????????????????????
    aakdldljdlkkk
  • I agree, this is ridiculous, however money talks and they're the ones paying so it's go to be the way they want.Just imagine if preparation H gets to sponsor them! Preparation H Cup (OUCH)
  • Well, knowing Nascar who ever has the most money buys the name..but in my opinion always will be Winston Cup..we hardly ever call it the Sprint Cup just "Cup"

Just like the Nationwide Series..we all still refer to it as "Bush" sometimes things just stick with us, no matter what they change it too..just my opinion!
  • Well unless the rumors of T-Mobile buying Sprint NEXTEL come true it shall be known as the Sprint Cup Series until 2014 (or beyond should they renew their sponsorship contract).
Winston dropped out due to US Tobacco advertising laws. NEXTEL stepped up but was bought out from Sprint, which then began to phase out the NEXTEL name, much like AT&T to Cingular & Verizon will be to alltel. Hence the change to what we now know as the Sprint Cup Series.
  • just call it cup thats the easist way
  • It all has to do with money,, if the sponsor changes then the name will change again.
  • My sentiments exactly I wish it would return to the Winston Cup. It was called that when I started watching.

...in fact I asked this question awhile ago...look at some of the great answers:

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
  • winston cup then nextel cup now sprint cup i can't keep up with the name
  • I wasn't a fan when it was called Winston Cup so that sounds pretty weird to me. I like Nextel Cup, but now I'm used to Sprint Cup.
  • Nascar will change it as many times as a corporate sponsor wants as long as they're willing to shell out huge $$$$ amounts their way. Wouldn't surpise if it's changed at least 2 more times in next 5 years with all the communication buyouts that's been going on recently. What if Sprint leaves? Will they be racing for the CUP OF COCA-COLA; THE CUP OF CAMPBELL'S SOUP; The Ollie's Outlet Barn of Cheap Imported Stuff Slighty used CUP; the list could go on and on. My point is, to me, is doesn't matter what's it's called as long as it's stock car racing with the 43 best drivers....that's all that matters. Just an opinion of course.
  • Who's ready for night racing at Thunder Valley?!?

    May be...

  • Count me in! tonight's tickets clinched in my hand, Coke is icing down in the fridge...just waiting for our my buddy to pull up and say it's time to go. Going to be a great week of racing!!!!!
  • You bet!!!!
  • Bristol ROCKS!

My favorite race of the year! Short tracks rule!!!!!!!
  • Yes, I'm even leaving work early today to get home to see that race. Truck racing is so much fun, after all these guys don't play nice..Go get'um Hornaday.. and I hope Jimmie Johnson has a great race his first time out in a Truck.

    Go Ron Hornaday #33
  • i'm ready for three nights of racing at thunder valley - tonight for the trucks, friday for the nationwide series, and saturday for the big boys. "43 drivers enter, 1 driver wins"

EDIT: thanks for asking, i thought that's what yahoo "answers" was all about - q & a...
    ;-)
  • Yeah! My favorite race of the year behind the fall Talladega race and the 500.
  • Counting the hours/minutes! Bristol at night is like nothing else on the planet!
  • My wife and I and two friends are driving down Saturday morning for the Sharpie 500...it's the first time we are actually going together with other people. So I am looking forward to getting to the TN mountains and having a WV redneck good time!!!
  • my boys will be, you bet your sweet bippy. i haven't said that since "laugh-in" was on.
  • I love Bristol so I'm definitely ready!
  • Yes !!!!!!! I can't wait to see the trucks race in Thunder Valley and see how Jimmie Johnson is going to do. But I think Johnny Benson will take the win .
  • MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
  • Why do i get so many bad ratings?

    May be...

  • I haven't seen you do anything to make anyone mad. Bestanswer has it right, If you are talking about getting thumbs down I wouldn't pay much attention to that as the trolls have been out in full force this past month. You can have a good, informational, and well thought out answer sometimes and you will still get thumbs down. It's pathetic but a lot of times people will just judge you by your favorite driver. I wouldn't pay any attention to it. Sometimes I tend to get the feeling that people just think of me around here as that annoying Harvick fan but somehow I keep coming back. I feel as long as you aren't bashing or being rude then you are entitled to your opinion just as much as anyone else and are more then welcome around here :)
  • sometimes people give thumbs-down to others around here for pretty good reasons, maybe because they are acting like complete jackasses. i get a lot of those.
  • i was just wondering?if i did something to make you all mad i'm deeply
sorry. i know i'm new to Y/A but some of you are really mean.i'm just trying to fit in.i guess i was trying to hard.again i am sorry.
  • personally, i wear thumbs-up and thumbs-down as badges of honor - at least i (usually) got someone's attention. i wish that was always true, as i know i've received thumbs-down that i'm sure were from people who were just running through all the responses giving everyone thumbs-down. other times, i'm sure i've received them because of my avatar, my screen name, and/or my favorite driver.

many times i'm sure i've received them because someone actually didn't like me or my answers. but i don't let those get to me because as someone wise once told me:
"you don't like everyone do you, why should you expect everyone to like you?"

the ones that i like the most though are those i have received many times for simply stating facts answering questions like "what time is the race on" or "who finished first in the race." i'm sure that i could simply report the time and temperature if asked and someone would come along and give me a thumbs-down, and sometimes only me.

comes with the territory i suppose...
  • Well you're a Junior fan and they seem to get thumbs down a lot. Don't worry about what others think and keep rooting for your favorite driver.
  • If you are a Jr fan you can expect many thumbs down from the Kyle Busch fans. No matter the subject or the quality of your answers you get the thumbs down.

They will say awful things also. Many of the Jr fans have left because of this kind of treatment. Six months ago a question about Jr would get about 10 positive to 2 negative responses. Now it's 1 positive to 10 negative. Jr's fan base hasn't changed they have just left this festering pool of negativity.
  • Bad ratings? What do you mean? If you mean thumbs down there's probably a lot of reasons. Could just be because you're a Dale Jr. fan, no matter how good your answer is. Like some people do when they find out who I'm a fan of and that goes for everyone else here, too. Sometimes no matter how good the answer is people don't even read it they just see who you're a fan of and give a thumbs down. That's one thing I don't really like about the thumbs down thing in the NASCAR section. You could give the most perfect answer in the world but if you like a certain driver you'll still get a thumbs down on it. Don't worry about it...if they can't stand someone else's opinion just ignore it and keep posting, there's always somebody who will agree or disagree with you on here and everywhere else. Just keep doing what your doing, and realize that not everyone will agree.

  • Should these tracks have night races ? ?

    May be...

  • I would love to see all the races run under the lights. Cooler for the fans, drivers and cars. It would also make for better racing because the cars would get better grip.
  • absolutely
  • Definite.....to all......night racing is awesome!!!!!
  • I would love for all tracks to have lights for night racing. Except for maybe the road courses that may be a little tricky. I love to watch night racing but they should have them for other reasons as well such as rain so even with a rain delay they can still get the race in. That is the most frustrating thing to me after waiting all day for the race then to have them call it because of rain....uggh! Lights would eliminate this problem.
  • Definitely ,Night Racing Rules !
  • nobody should have night races... too dangerous.....
  • I think every race should have 1 day race and 1 night race. The only problem is, NASCAR is so tight on money. They couldn't afford all those lights. But yes, a Dover night race would be awesome
  • I wish they wouldn't. I realize I'm in the minority, but I don't like the night races. I have a 2 year old and am just too wiped out to stay up late. I TiVo it, but it isn't the same watching it the next day. If they would start the races at 5 PM instead of 7 or 8, I'd be all for them.
  • I think all races should have the day to night race. Seems that Jimmie is better at those races.
  • I think so, but then again I love night races and would like to see them have more. I can't wait to watch them under the lights at Atlanta. My dream is they instill Lights at Talladega and have the fall race at night. Now that would be awesome.
  • I think that Fontana should have a night race because they have lights. But Dover, Texas, Atlanta, New Hampshire and Michigan should not have a night race because they do not have lights to do a night race.
  • I think every single track should have lights. Mainly due to weather issues, so that if Sunday afternoon gets rained out, they can race at night. Nobody likes to see a race on a Monday. But then again, at a road course like Infineon, that wouldn't work. And so races like Talladega won't be called due to darkness, as in the case of the ARCA race.

I also think Martinsville should get lights as well.

But in terms of those tracks you listed, I definitely think Dover needs the lights more than any of them. Texas already has a race which ends at night, the Dickies 500, Atlanta has a night ending race during the fall (wait, wasn't that for a rain delay?)
  • Dover
    Texas (cup)
Atlanta (next year it will happen)
    Fontana (1st race)
    New Hampshire
    Michigan
  • Dover by far. I would love too see racing action under the lights at The Monster Mile.

    DOVER RULES!!!!
  • I think Dover needs lights before anyone. Texas already runs half the race at night in November.(one of the best races)

But the more the merrier. Except for road courses like Sonoma. The view is already kinda crappy because of the hilly terrain.
  • Dover would be nice. And Fontana shouldnt have a race at all.
  • yes and add the Brickyard Indianapolis to that list.
  • YES!
  • Nascar Trivia #6 Who was the Owner of the #28 car before Yates bought the Team in 1979??

    May be...

  • Harry Ranier and Yates didn't buy the team until 1989.
  • I think it was Ranier-Lundy Racing
  • Nascar Trivia #4 Who Won the first Restrictor Plate Race in Talledega and what Year???

    May be...

  • Phil Parsons 1988
  • Dale Earnhart Sr 1998
  • Kenny Schrader in 1988 Diehard 500. Folgers #25. Right?

Edit: Technically, in the seventies not all the cars were running the plate. Nascar was phasing out the 427 and going to the 358 c.i. engine. So some of the cars may not have had plates. I think only the guys still running the 427 were required to wear them. That would make Jeff's answer the correct one since the Winston 500 runs before the Diehard 500.
  • I know that it was first used in 1971 to reduce the ci.of a 427 to 358 ci.How about the king 43?
  • Well do you mean in the 70's the very first time plates were used or do you mean the 80's after Allison's huge crash in 1987???

I'm going to guess Phil Parsons 1988 in the #55 Skoal Classic /Crown Oldsmobile.

    OK, IF it's the 70's can I guess.....Pete Hamilton in the #40
    Petty Enterprises car???

Hamilton was joined in victory lane by the notorious Gov. George C. Wallace....I have a photo with Hamilton smiling "sheepishly" and Wallace looking as evil as possible.

SHould I jump on Kyle's or Carl's bandwagon?

    May be...

  • you should jump right in FRONT of either one - you wouldn't be able to live with yourself as a junior fan if you jumped on either of those bandwagons.

  • You Jr haters have finally won, I give up on Dale Jr(that's your whole purpose isn't it?). I'm giving away my diecasts, donating my t-shirts to Goodwill and drinking those Amp cans. Now who's bandwagon should I jump on since you're all so good at bandwagon jumping. Kyle" I finally found a car I can drive without wrecking every other race" Busch, or Carl "I'm in a 51 race losing streak so I'll go beat up on the guys in the Busch series" Edwards.
  • If you MUST give up on JuneBug...go with Kyle.

Don't worry, school is starting (today, here) very, very soon. JM, what is an err in your ways? I thought it was error...but you will learn that in English class.
I was referring to proper use of language, not the definition of "to err".

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • KYLE BUSCH!
  • Who finds it refreshing that someone other than kyle won?

    May be...

  • Yes. It's very refreshing and it's also a good thing because Kyle did not win the race!

  • Glad to see Carl do well. Personally, I am getting sick of the Kyle Bush (bushwhacker # 2) show.
I couldn't believe the Bushwhacker won at Watkins Glen! It's a road race!!!! OMG
    Peed me OFF!
  • I was there yesterday and was just downright impressed with how both Kyle and Carl blew the field away. All I could say was wow everytime they came around and you saw the 3rd and 4th cars further and further behind. Simply put I think we got a good look at what the chase is gonna be like.
  • Me!

No offense to Kyle, but I get bored when the same guy wins over and over. Unless, of course, he's MY driver ;).
  • I think everyone feels that way when it is not their fave winning. Last season all we heard was Jimmie and Jeff, so this time it's Kyle and good on him, he is showing that he is a great driver.
  • It may have been to you, but what was refreshing to me was seeing Dale Jr "lose control" of his car and hit the wall. Entirely his fault too.
  • Congrats to Carl for the win, and to the Fords for a great finish all around...Rousch, that is.

Jm#2: 2nd is the 1st LOSER! Why do you have to put Jr. in the discussion? This was about Carl and Kyle. Are you really that insecure?

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • What a surprise, I really thought Kyle had it but yes was refreshing that a Ford finally made it, not really a big fan of Carl's..was hoping to see a Hendricks car but oh well, that's racing!

wow, have never seem this many thumbs down for everyone..
    what's happening here, war..hope not...if this goes to public vote..heavens forbid..lol
  • Can't say as I'm happy he didn't win. But I'm realistic enough to know he can't win EVERY race.
I try and be a good sport, I'm not a Carl Edwards fan, but I congratulate him and his fans on the win, they deserved it.

Wish it could've been David Ragan instead though. Lookin' forward to seeing his 1st trip to vic. lane!!!
  • Not me.

He is still #1 in points and came in second yesterday. so he can "lose" a race or two.
  • Thumbs up goes out to JM #2 he totally put you in your place (Way to go dude)

Jr can't compete with the best anymore. He's done
  • Heck, between Carl & Kyle they are dominating this year. 13 or 14 wins between them. Gotta give them thumbs up for that.

Hey #88 forever don't let J M or JM #2 or JM 99,999,999 bother you they are all the same little troll/trolls just trying to stir up trouble. They love to dis Junior then block us all so they only hear from haters it strokes their egos so much. Heck they even stooped so low as to to invent new ID's just to keep their own conversations going in their own lonely little world. Very, very sad indeed.
  • If Carl had missed even one corner, we would have talking about Kyle winning another one. Yes it was nice that Carl won but it's just a stroke of luck (and a very fast car) that made the difference in the two.
  • no no no....as long as Carl Edwards doesn't win, i hate seeing that BACK FLIP.....whoopdy doo....who cares...

i can stand kyle, as long as he doesn't break the record (13 wins)..(GORDON MUST BE THE ONLY ONE...*along with petty)
  • Yea what a refreshing breath of air, the guy with 8 wins, got beat by the guy with 5 wins.

I fail to see the difference
  • Whys that stinky? Cause you know Dale Jr can't get it done LOL!?
  • I was happy Kyle Busch did not win....and Bunnie was not happy...
i think it would have been embarassing if a toyota had one in the american auto makers back yard....
edwards, who is soo cute, drove real well yesterday and his crew worked good with him to...fast ford.

  • Naw it really do not matter I know wherever # 18 ends up at the checker flag as long as he is ahead of Kyle Petty who cares.
  • yes i did
  • He finished second. He will win next week just to piss you off. I found it refreshing that Jr's bad driving CONTINUES to catch up with him. Must suck cheering for him...all those fans and nothing to show for it. I'd rather be 2nd than 22nd LOL
  • it's makes me happy, if jr can't win the cup, then it will be carl edwards, he's a great driver(way better than kyle) and should easily beat out kyle for the cup
go # 99 and # 88 beat that stupid kyle Busch and show him he's no good!
  • It will probably come down to Edwards or Kyle for the championship.
  • i'm not happy, but i do like two things about it: 1) kyle and his team showed that they have improved big time on the intermediate tracks, and 2) that we can look forward to some great racing over the next 13 weeks. i love to see kyle win as much as the next guy, but i'd rather see him do it in a battle to the end, and that includes for the championship. i think the battle between kyle and carl (and i think jimmie will be there as well) for the championship could turn out to be epic...
  • Yea, I enjoyed seeing someone other than that little @#%&$ win...

but on the other hand, I'm glad that little @#%&$ has brought something back to NASCAR that they have lacked... SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT!
  • It's definitely GOOD FOR THE SPORT when there are more drivers than just 1 winning every week. I'd like to see 15 or 20 different winners throughout the season.
  • How do i find out the value on a dale earnhard sr clock(racing)?

    May be...

  • my son has a dale sr clock that is from a car lot and was given to him. how do i find out how much it is worth? i don't know how to even start researching this clock since it was given to a car lot & can not just be picked up easily. thanks for any help you can offer.
  • you can google it or go on ebay and check to see under collectibles for Dale Earnhardt Senior, may find one there to compare price
  • Here are some prices on different clocks.

    http://www.shop.com/Home+%26+Housewares-...

    http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=...

    http://shop.ebay.com/items/__dale-earnha...

    http://www.hhweb.com/clockplaques/clockp...
  • Try eBay. My guess is since Dale Earnhardt memorabilia flooded the market, it isn't worth all that much.
  • I'm going to guess not that much money. Since his death the market has been flooded with Dale Sr memorabilia.
  • How did Carl Edwards get away with throwing stuff out of his car onto the track?

    May be...

  • He drove down and threw it out of the grove. Drivers throw bottles out of the car all the time, usually onto the grass coming off pit road but sometimes on the track.
  • That confused me too. I guess Edwards didn't get fined since he threw it where it would land on the apron. Still has me confused though.
  • I asked this yesterday and got a limited response; maybe because it was Sunday. It looked like ice and water and maybe an empty bottle but I was always under the impression that NOTHING could be thrown out of the car on to the track................Whats up??
  • I said the exact same thing!!!! I mean, a couple of years ago Robby Gordon upchucks a piece of the car's interior out onto the track and he gets penalized!!! But I guess since Robby isn't an "upfront driver" like Edwards, he doesn't count. :P
  • The only thing I can think of is maybe NASCAR felt like he wasn't trying to bring out the caution. I feel like it was wrong and if you throw something out then it should be looked at as debris. Maybe NASCAR was just trying to use reasonable judgment that he wasn't trying to bring out the caution. He still should have kept it in the car. It had water in it and wasn't gong to blow around in the car. Maybe he just got irritated for a minute.
  • Watched that myself and it was his water bottle! It's just another gray area in the rule book. Nascar decides if they want to enforce the rule or not! WWE style!
    Peace!
  • If Dale Jr had done it.......hmm........ they would have penalized everyone else and made Jr restart 1st
  • It does happen a lot & probably goes unseen or because it's not actually on the track. An empty water bottle inside a race car going 200+ mph isn't a good thing. I think Carl handled that situation the right way and do not think it was to draw a caution. It isn't like he was at the top of the track and just pitched it out the window. You are right, there isn't supposed to be anything thrown out of the cars. This just happened to be in that "iffy" area. =o`)
  • I didn't see it, but I will be going back to check it out... Whether he threw it out of the groove or not, I don't think they should be allowed to do that. Seriously, What's the drawback to just leaving the empty bottle in your car until after the race or until you hit the garage?
  • The same way Dale Jr. got away with passing the pace car in the Spring and Mr. 18 got away with passing below the yellow line at Talladega.
  • I saw that to. Water bottle! I had to rewinding my DVR just to make sure I was not seeing things. I guess sense it was on the apron there was 'no problem" and maybe nascar was in a good mood not to penalize him.
  • Nascar Dover truck race questin?

    May be...

  • It's a more expensive ticket, my guess is he paid a whole lot more or he got them for free from a company he works for or something.
  • i always thought you could watch the truck, cup and nationwide race without paying for Nationwdie and Truck tickets.
  • 2 years ago I went to a truck race wit my granfather in the air condition seats we saw cup qualifying and practice, nationwide (then busch) practice truck qualifying and the truck race did he have to pay for those and the race or was it free with a race ticket????
  • I was reading a lot of message boards today and it sounded like Jr lost a LOT of fans, were you one of them??

    May be...

  • jr.'s not losing any fans. there's no doubt that jr. is not the best driver out there, and he probably is just average and yes, ok! he IS overrated! If he's got 18 wins in 8 years and no championships with all those fans why WOULDN'T he be overrated? But that's not the point. Bandwagons are not true fans. I am a true fan. I stick with my driver through rough times and good times. I don't want to be a bandwagon like half of the Rowdy fans out there. It's not like Rowdy ever hit the wall. And of course I guess you're calling Johnson and Gordon average too since they finished 17th and 42nd.

As if you're calling him a BAD driver when he is really about a 7/10 driver. Those 3/10 are gonna be filled in (I hope) with more wins this year. if not, then let the haters hate. I will never figure them out.

Jr. screwed up. harvick screwed up at infineon. kyle screwed WAY up at Pocono. Why isn't there any nasty crap about them?

Not to mention when he hit the wall he was on older tires than everyone else.
  • With that in mind, it's safe to say the Dale Jr. will never win a Cup.
  • Vow to stick with him
  • If Junior lost any fans they were some of the band wagon fans which is no big loss. True fans stick by their driver win or loose. Y'all just can't let it be. Junior makes a mistake or has an incident due to a tire issue and it's a major ordeal. Where are all the boo birds when it happens to the other drivers?? Say what you want, think what you want....I prefer to remain a proud member of Junior Nation.
I don't particularly care where you get your idea that Junior is "loosing his fans" but you are way off track on this one. BTW...it would be Tony Eury Jr. Have a great day n good luck to you & your favorite driver (s). =o`) *Peace*
  • being a fan means being there win or lose so my answer is
GO JR!!!!! i will always love Jr.
  • People are starting to realize Junior is a made-for-TV racer like Cole Trickle, while Kyle Busch is the real deal.
  • then they arnt real fans a real fan sticks with his driver no matter what
  • Stand back folks, I got my AMP green worm on the end of the line. And I'm fixing to land the big bottom feeder. HERE FISHY FISHY FISHY!!!!
  • no..........
  • honestly, when are people going to stop bashing him so much!?
    He's a great driver.
4th in points is VERY good! i'd like to see you get into Nascar & stay up there in points throughout the whole season...i bet it'd take some talent!
& big deal if he hit the wall yesterday...ALL drivers make mistakes once in a while!
i will always be a Jr. fan!
  • I LOVE DALE JR.

    I would stick with him.

the fact that he's even driving after what that did to his dad is amazing, let alone get into a car after he hit something.
    yeah right.
    that dudes amazing.
  • He lost me as a fan with in a year of his dad's passing.
He knows how to set up for some events but there are some tracks he is lost.Dale Earnhardt would tell Tony Eury how to set the car up,Junior did not do the set ups.
Sure he is a good driver but so are all 43 in the race.He can and does know some tracks better than others but he lacks the skill to set up the car to win,he sets up for comfort.
  • I was never one to begin with, thank God.

  • People seem to finally realize the err in their ways. Have you realized it yet?? Or are you still clinging on to the he's 4th in points excuse?? If a decent driver was in that car theyd work wonders. I've always thought of Jr as being an "average" driver but after he totally hit that wall out of 100% his own doing I realized that he might be a notch below average. Even Michael Mcdowell could have kept it off the wall there.

Let's see, first Jr tells Tony to make changes to the car, in the process taking it from a race winning car to a midpack one in a flash. This once again proves that Jr. knows nothing about the dynamics of a race machine.

Then Jr goes off and runs out of the little talent he has by hitting the wall. And then some of the Jr fans in denial had the audacity to blame it on Tony Eury and Kyle Busch. I had to LOL about that. I will give a few Jr fans credit though for seeing what really happened. They are the true fans.

I think the pressure of losing all these fans is getting to him. Were you one of them ordo you vow to stick with him through good and bad (Mostly bad)
  • as long as their are casual nascar fans who dont really know much about nascar dale jr will always have jr nation
  • Ralph Jr. is a hack! His fans are no better.
I hate the fact that they became HMS fans overnight, but I am not surprised.

HMS used to be their sworn enemy and now they are out there supporting Jeff Gordon's team!
  • Absolutely not. I've been his fan since 2000.

I am not a fair weather fan.
  • yes i just dont like him and tony stewert
  •
