How soon before mike wallice wrecks someone?

May be...

  • Who is mike wallice? Perhaps you meant Mike Wallace? If it happens, it happens when it happens.

    *SLIQ*
  • What Green Bean said.
  • probably about the time you learn to spell wallace
  • He already did. I just saw him get into a little tangle with someone (Nuennberger, I think) a few laps ago....93 eclipse motor turbo
  • Nascar Nation. Are you watching the Nationwide Race Today?

    May be...

  • Rooting for Brad Keselowski. I have takin a liking to him this year.
  • It's not on here yet. But I will watch, and hope a non-Buschwhacker gets to victory lane.

  • If so, who are you rooting for? And who do you think will win?
  • Yeah, I probably will. I will be rooting for Brad Keselowski and Brian Vickers, too. Also, I'd like to see Mark Martin do well in the #5 DELPHI Chevrolet. But right now, I think that Carl Edwards will win. Enjoy the race!
  • Yup. I missed the Truck race last night so I can't wait for the NW race today. Hopefully Kevin will be able to get his first win in his own car today starting on the front row!
  • I can only watch an hour of it : (...but I think Carl will win. He's starting on the pole and has done well at Texas before.

If this football game ever ends...come on!
  • Yes, and Im rooting for Jamie McMurray, and I am hoping he will win!!
  • yep
rooting for kes' but i think
    mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
    kyle busch will win

  • Which driver will put on the biggest show at Texas?

    May be...

  • OOOHH, I sure hope it isn't Michael McDowell again.... That was SCARY!

My money is on Johnson or Stewart, but then again it very well could be Gordo's chance to shine and finally beat Texas.

....There is a troll in our midst - yet another lame redneck comment from an even more lame jacka**....

    ....nice new avatar there, Superdave!
  • Mark Martin, he was one of the first drivers to put rubber on the pavement way back when here. He is going to take some kids to school from the 20th starting spot.
  • who will put on the biggest display of driving exhibition at Texas Motor Speedway?
  • Jimmie Johnson, others better watch the 48 cause here he comes with Carl in tow behind him!

    Just an opinion

  • I certainly hope it's Denny, he's coming off a strong finish from Atlanta, a similar track. *crosses fingers*
  • I'm hoping Dale Jr. Hey, you never know :D
  • Jeff Gordon..

    He did it in practice..

    He did it in qualifying...

  • << This dude !
  • Jeff Gordon
  • I Will Say Jeff Gordon.
  • Carl Edwards. His objective will be to win the race and he will be a wheelman all day. Should be fun to watch him come from 16th. He'll be up front in no time and will be the driver to beat in the race.
  • Dale Jr. Whenever he starts up front he leads a lot. I just hope he can do it at the end.
  • For some odd reason i am going with Greg Biffle on this. Just a gut feeling i guess.usairways promotion code

  • Who thinks Kyle Busch in a Dodge would be hotter than Paris Hilton?

    May be...

  • As those 2 guys on the Dodge commercial says

    Shhwweeet.
  • That would be totally tubular! Thats HOT!
  • Kyle is already hotter than a two dollar pistol no matter what he is in.
and certainly hotter than a used mattress.,
  • Steady there, fluffy. It's going to be a long night. lol
  • That's hot
  • Put him in a Dodge with a blonde wig, people would think he was Paris Hilton.

    Tall, skinny, sunglasses, yup.

*whoooosh* that was the sound of this question going over my head.
Kyle in a Dodge would be cool.
  • That would be nice fluffy. HOT!
  • As Paris says: THAT'S HOT!!!
  • Paris Hilton Would Be better In a Dodge Atleast class would be back indodge instaid of no class
  • Probably Mopar fans. But seriously, he would look okay in a Dodge. But he has a great home in JGR and Toyota right now.
  • kyle busch is a loser.olive tree bible pda
  • Is NASCAR preventing a Toyota Championship? ?

    May be...

  • It doesn't really matter, does it? Ford is backing out of NASCAR, Dodge will be gone as well.
We'll be looking at IROC shortly. The only difference in the cars is decals.
  • No.
If you twist and turn things around enough, anything could be made to look like a possibility, it's all just coincidence to me. And will remain so until someone has rock solid evidence to the contrary.
To think such things would be fueling the fires of those who say it's scripted.
  • Yes, they are. They can do anything they want as long as NASCAR fans don't question it. If you ask these sort of things people will jump all over you, I guess they can't stand to think outside their little box and see that it might exist.
  • Yes, Nascar is rigged. Why else has Kyle Busch done as poorly as he has done since the Chase started? Just as you mention above, Nascar
officials didn't mind for Toyota to win races right off the bat of entering the
Cup Series, but it would be too much for Toyota to win a Championship
in it's first year,, that is why , they are making certain that Jimmie Johnson win the Championship. They don't want Hendrick who has just
gotten Dale Jr. into it's team to look bad. They throw imaginary cautions to help Johnson etc,

Nascar has gotten to the point of being staged just like professional
    wrestling!

I am very serious about this. I am not joking.
  • I thought the conspiracy was for nascar to be cheating to get Toyota to win.... that's what all the kyle haters have been saying when he was winning...... I don't think nascar pulls for any manufacture, i can see why they may throw fake yellows to try and bring up the drama at the end of a race but that's all i personally think nascar has it hand in the racing
  • Not a chance.Kyle is not going to win the championship because he had some bad luck/races.Denny Hamlin has not had a championship-winning team all year, along with Stewart.Brian Vickers and A.J. Allmendinger have had good years, but still not championship caliber.Waltrip racing and BDR are running about the same as they always have. There is no conspiracy that is keeping Toyota from winning a championship, only circumstances, teams, and equipment.
  • Nope, sorry I just don't believe in conspiracy theory's. If something like that was ever proved to be true imagine the trouble it would cause, especially only being Toyota's 2nd year in NASCAR. The lawsuits alone may bankrupt them, I just don't see NASCAR throwing races
  • In some ways yes, in others no.

They are a private organization, so they could (think WWF) tell them to chunk it up a bit to gather interest. Then suddenly have "mechanical" problems. Either play our way, or we are taking our tracks and leaving....(sound like someone we all know?)

But I doubt it. There are too many people doing interviews to not have someone say something.

    Good conspiracy theory though.
  • It sounds like you might have read my answer on another question. When I posted the remark that an official, employee, or representative said from Toyota said that NASCAR wants them to win but only by so much ... it was a video that I saw coming straight from the guys mouth. I can't find the story and by no means am I trying to start a conspiracy but that came from a person from Toyota himself. I just repeated it.

Now if Toyota feels like NASCAR may be wanting them to tone it down then there has to be a reason. The guy would not have made that statement if he felt like there wasn't something to it. All of this that I am referring to is the deal where Toyota's team (and I'll leave names out for the purpose of keeping the peace right now) was busted for the magnet under the gas pedal to alter the outcome of the dyno test.

Even though that incident is not related directly to the championship it is indeed a sign that NASCAR doesn't want a team to dominate the whole season (keeping the playing field level). With that said then it could be possible that NASCAR might have wanted Toyota to back off, or maybe NASCAR was onto a bigger scandal and Gibbs and Toyota felt like it might be wise to back off. Regardless of the case they have not ran the same since the chase started.

You can put the pieces together and draw the conclusion that it may be possible BUT the truth will never be directly known.
  • No, I don't think so! Nascar follows the money! After NAFTA came along and put all these foreign car makes on the highways, with good value for the money, I think Nascar was smart enough to know what was going to happen with the big three automakers. All three are struggling and are putting less money in to there advertising budgets.I think they welcome the influx of money from Toyota. Nascar is not loyal to the big three when money is involved. They'll take it where they can get it!
So, I say it's just bad luck at the wrong time!
    PEACE
  • i dont think so because its to many eyes ans ears around and all of them couldnt keep their mouth shut about it!!!!!!!
  • I didn't see it that way until a few said something in another question...but now I am wondering.
    Would it be like:
NASCAR to TOYOTA - ok you can win races and show yourself but you aren't winning the Championship regardless.

NO HATING. This is a legit question and could be any teams Toyota not just Kyle.
  • not at all, I believe most of the other teams (#48, #16, #99, #88, #31, #17) have finally figured out how to set up the car to where it can actually be able to compete the whole race. I don't know why Kyle is struggling so much in the chase
  • We all know that Toyota will eventually take over the series, they are the only ones with unlimited resources for research and development. Maybe, and this is a big maybe, they purposely reeled things in a little because of the total domination of the 18 team earlier in the year. It is conceivable that some higher ups in Toyota pulled some strings to sabatoge this season to divert attention from their overnight success. I don't believe that to be the case but I'm sure stranger things have happened. HAPPY HALLOWEEN, BWAHAHAHA!!!
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • I don't think so. I realize that TRD has a lot of input in the engines. But there are also engineers at JGR that have input into what goes under the hood. A we have seen before that someone could have a good first part of the year, and not do well in the Chase.

And like someone else said, it would real tough to get that many people to keep a secret. And when you think about it even further, Tony Stewart would have no part of it. He hasn't seemed to have the same mechanical problems as Busch.

NASCAR is a tough sport, it just so happens that Johnson/Knaus have it figured out so far. But even their run will come to an end sooner or later.
  • Gee I hope so.. although Toyota is helping NASCAR in ways, I hate seeing them in victory lane
  • I really don't think so. But it has been surprising how the toyota's have not been as strong as they were the first 36 races (not speaking of just Kyle, but all the Toyota driver's).

  • Maybe. Read the link to my question, in the additional details. "NASCAR conspiracy
    18 1/2"
    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...
  • I doubt it but that would be awesome. I wish Toyota would concentrate on what they do best, making lame, uninspiring, econoboxes.
  • I can see how people might think that, but I doubt that it's true. NASCAR has money and power, but so does Toyota. I can't see them laying down just because they were told to. JMHO

That does sound very familiar, Tom P. You little devil. : )
  • I don't believe they are............
  • No, I think Toyota's experiencing a little slump cause everyone else has caught back up to them.usairways club
  • Jeff Gordon fans; who do you want to replace his crew chief?

    May be...

  • LeTard's time might be done but I am not sure who you could bring in right now. If Darian Grubb wasn't already going to Stewart/Haas next year he would have been a good candidate. Brian Whitesell is probably their best option at this point and they need to do something because Jeff will not be racing much more than a couple more years.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • what difference does it make he aint going nowhere
  • No, it is not a problem on Jeff's nor his crew chief end. It is a little thing called luck, which is an element in racing or any sport for that matter. Jeff has had very little of it (luck) this year, while Jimmie Johnson has had a ton. What, has it been 2 chase races now that Jimmie was one lap down and got the lucky dog to win or come in 2nd.

Your grand-daddy was a smart man..
  • Brian Whitesell. I would keep Poptarte if he would stop making bad calls .
  • What people don't understand, it's not LeTarte, Eury Jr or any of them. It's the piece of crap COT that NASCAR through Brian France came up with, besides safety for the drivers, was supposed to be a cost saving move for the teams. The COT has a flexible frame, the car is difficult to balance. If you watched the Atlanta race, didn't you notice all the cars were squirrely ? When you saw Johnson pass Hamlin on the outside, it nearly wrecked Hamlin. The crew chiefs have nothing to do with this disaster.
That's another reason why Goodyear is having problems with tires-you cannot stabilize the COT.
  • Ray Evernham
  • I see a lot of #24 fans looking for Letarte's head but I would like to know who they want to replace him.........My grandfather always said, "Don't complain about something unless you have a solution"...Who would be better???

Jeff made the chase and has 13 top 10's in his last 15 races; that is pretty darn impressive......................
  • No one. Steve Letarte and Gordon work well with each other. Why would it change?

Just last year they came THIS close to winning a title. That's one heck of a duo if you ask me. I think it's bad luck, personally.

*Edit* Lenny, Greenbean meant, "He isn't going anywhere".
  • Anyone but Steve Letard
  • LeTarte is a young crew chief and has a lof of potential to be a great crew chief. But he does struggle to make the right adjustments to the race car. I'd take Jeff Meendering back as he did great when Letarte was suspended last year. But who I'd really want to see is Johnson's car chief Ron Malec.
  • poptarte thats a hoot!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I just think they are having a off year.
They worked well last year. and had all those wins. Just just need to get the right set up on the car. They should do better next year, and if not, replace him then
  • how about smack poptarte upside the head and make him write a thousand times, I will listen to the boss.....
  • I think Gordon and Letarte are a good team;they are just having an off year.People are ready to hang Steve because Jeff hasn't won this season, but Jeff really hasn't had that bad of a season-he has 11 top-5's and 17 top 10's.Remember last year? That was Jeff Gordon's best season of his career(yeah,I know he had more wins in other years, but his overall performance was better) and who can't give credit to steve Letarte for that?
I really don't think it is fair for people to put all of this on Steve's shoulders-he is a great guy and crew chief.
  • I think he needs ray evernham back.
  • They can have Rodney Childers if they want. Letarte is great and Jeff Gordon fans have no right to complain.
  • GET RID OF THE BUMrun of house room
  • Since Jeff Gordon has 2 last place finishes at Texas don't you think he is way overdue?

    May be...

  • It would but I dont think he will. The 99 and 48 among others are too strong on these type of tracks although Jeff has cracked the top ten among teams that can win on 1.5 mile tracks. He had the spring race won last year until he smacked the right front twice against the wall last year while leading. Anything can happen but I dont think he will win unless the race is decided on strategy otherwise I think Gordon would be happy with a solid top ten finish
  • Absolutely, it's the type of track that he has had a lot of success at. I would STILL use Matt or Carl over Jeff for fantasy racing purposes though. Carl because of his undeniable advantage on the intermediate tracks this year and Matt for his consistency at Texas.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • I'm pulling for a 24-48-88 trifecta!! 3 straight in Oh Eight!!
  • I think he has a great chance of winning this one.
  • If you want overdue, start Sadler.

    Edit: I don't think that's such a good idea, he'll probably run 20 something.
  • I agree, I would love to see Jeff win at Texas so he can mark another winless track off the list! My preference would be to win at Phoenix, win at Texas and win at Homestead - good way to round off the 2008 season!
  • He's way overdue to dump Steve LeTarte.. Until he does he'll never be competitive again.
  • I am going to use him this week in my fantasy league; what do you think??
  • Yes he is LOOOOOOOOOOONG overdue I agree. Go ahead and use him.....he'll be lucky for you.
  • Yes, I think he is way overdue....then again, so is Dale Jr :)

    Go Jr. at Texas!
  • Jeff deserves at least 1 w before this year is over.
  • It would be cool for him to win.

Then he has a win at all but one track.
  • I sure hope he does! I'm here at the races, and nothing would make the weekend better than him winning this race on Sunday. Hopefully Steve and the crew have set up a good car and will finally get a reward for the hard work they have put in on these mile and half tracks this year.
  • Poor guy, he has had crap luck this year. Yes he is well overdue and it would be nice and different for him to take first.
  • no he is still going to be on that streak
  • You're right. He's way overdue. One of these days Jeff will figure out Texas. Maybe this weekend. Good luck!
  • i would like to see gordon win this week and he's been overdue.
  • Jeff needs to win in Texas. If he does that would be totally awesome! I hope he gets the win. If not he would really lose ground in the cup sprint!!! Go Jeff Go!
  • That would be cool if he could get a win there. Texas and Homestead are the only tracks that he hasn't won at. I would be cool to see him win at both of the but I am sure Poptarte will mess it up somehow !weary chipper
  • Did anyone win a Championship their first year of Cup racing? ?

    May be...

  • yes red byron http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Byron
  • actually earnhardt only ran 27 of 31 races in 79
had he ran the other 4 who knows
probably would'nt made up1081 points though
  • earnhardt won in his 2nd year, gordon in his 3rd. and tony stewart was NOT the first rookie to win a race. earnhardt sr. and davey allison won races in their rookie years, just to name 2.
  • red byron in nascar's 1st season
  • No, unless Red Byron counts in 1949, as that was NASCAR's first year, so it was technically his first year in NASCAR. But he had raced before that.

I think Dale Earnhardt won it in his second year. I'm not quite 100% sure of that though.
  • Dale Earnhardt won the championship in his second full year in the Cup series in 1980. I think that is the closest anyone has gotten unless you count Red Byron when he won the championship in NASCAR's very first year in 1949.
  • From the top of my head no one has ever won in their rookie year Mags. I believe Tony Stewart was the first rookie to win a race and Gordo won a championship the earliest.

Like I said this was from the top of my head. I'm sure I may be incorrect on something. Gotta roll. Long night ahead.

    Later.
  • Fire Storm is correct.

NOTE:Jimme Johnson is the only rookie in NASCAR history to ever lead the points :)
  • if not who won it in the least amount of time after starting in the Cup series???how to make a flying humanoid

How many times has Jeff Gordon finished dead last?

    May be...

  • and at what track(s)?

10 points for the first correct answer.
  • lots of times
  • The four-time champion finished 43rd at Texas, 2008 marking just the second time that he has finished dead last in a race.

Still looking for the first time...ok so you fooled me jimmiejohnson48fan200
  • I believe it was just once and wasn't it at Texas this year. I know it was recent, maybe Daytona?
  • I just heard the answer to this earlier this week. I know he finished 43rd at Texas, twice, but he has finished last in a race or 2 with smaller fields.
edit: Aha, he finished last at North Wilkesboro Speedway in BOTH races there in 1993. He finished 34th of 34 on April 18th and the same on October 3rd. He also finished last at Atlanta in the spring race in 1997. There was only a 42 car field that week. By my calculations he has finished last in 5 races in the cup series at 3 different tracks.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • Gordon has finished 43rd twice at Texas most recently in the spring of this year. He also finished last in a couple of other races but those were not 43 car fields.
  • twice at texas in the spring of 2008 and spring of '99 and I think at wilkesboro.
  • this year at texas
    bristol in 99
  • twice, both at Texas.................I thought at Daytona one time but it was 42nd....................

I just went through all the stats for his career and it only shows 43rd twice at Texas..................

    2 times!

His worst finish in 1993 was 37th at Pocono

Awwwww, you got me.................I was looking for the #43 under my history search..............Good one!!zelda 3 rom
  • Will dale jr ever drive in the truck series?

    May be...

  • I dont know if DAle Junior would drive in the truck series. I dont think he would.

ANd if Brad would win on his first try that would be just awesome.
  • I dont think he would but if someone offered the opportunity to do so I think he would do it.
  • He can barely drive a cup car. He'd have a lot of trouble trying to do both
  • Dale Jr........I doubt it. Unless it's like Jimmie Johnson's truck debut this year where he does 1 race just to try it and help out a team owner.

Brad K could win. Ryan Newman won his 1st truck race so anythings possible.
  • Probably not on Jr.
If Kes were to win, I'd be cool with it, I'm a bit of a fan.
  • No I don't believe Jr will ever drive in the Trucks. But you never know.

And if Kes won in his first start I would be shocked. I'm not a fan of his but it would be amazing to see him win in his first start.
  • You never know.

I would say 'Wow'! I said the same thing when Kasey Kahne won the two Truck races he was in and when Newman won this past week.
  • Maybe.
    I would sigh.
  • here is another question what would you do if brad k won on his first try
  • jr ??? driving for who?? brad like him but be for real.....lets keep him on the lead lap and see..eijah wood
  • Do we have a mole on NASCAR answers?

    May be...

  • Yes. One is JM#3. There are a couple from F1 that visit here that don't have anything constructive to do.
  • Any mole should be physically removed immediately. Yes, I think there could be, or just a problem with another name. I love whack-a-mole! Great answer Tbone! That's what clubs are for, not just "hunting"...

    *JUJU*
  • I don't think it's just one. I think it's another, more covert coordinated attack on us NASCAR fans, kinda like the Soccer (or football or whatever) section did to us last week - only this attack IS intended to be harmful. I don't know why us being here bothers so many people, but it does. In my opinion, somebody got it into that little head of theirs that if enough of us get banned or suspended, then the rest of us will just go away. What ever happened to live and let live?

    HE** NO, WE WON'T GO!!!

    FREEEDOMMMM!!!!!!!!

....and NO, I was not pointing fingers at the FIFA section! I just used that as an example. This attack is MUCH more deviant in nature....

....CHECK IT OUT! It's NOT just us. It's everywhere. Kinda like "The Happening", only dumber (if that's possible):
    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
  • Yes, we do. I agree with the rest, Go away!!!
  • Don't make me go on my Austin Powers rant.

    Aw, what the hey.

"Moley moley moley moley moleeeeeeee!!! I'm gonna rip that mole off and.. make some guac-a.. MOLEEE!"

    hehe
  • idk

i have just returned from exams
  • i think so too. i had like three of mine questions deleted, and like too many thumbs down... the children must be skipping school!
  • Yes we do. Whoever it is needs to get a life and leave us true fans alone.
  • I wouldnt be surprised if there was more than one. It seems like there is an awful lot of reporting, more than just one person can do.
  • It's reporting season Nascar Nation! It's not a mole, it's a humongous mole.
  • I think so! There's been an awful lot of reporting lately, I think it's time for them to move on what do you think?
  • I agree with T Bone.

...except I'm not a baseball fan.
  • Yep, it seems like it with all this reporting and deleted questions.
  • i think rackpurdue is right
scared to say anything else might get reported
  • Yes we do and Im ready to bring them punks or punketts DOWN!
  • well I appealed three of my violations and won two of them. That was recent. I never bothered with the others as it was "chatting" . but I agree with jason to a degree....last week one of those fans came here...one of the worse ones...asking what skills it took to be a driver...so I posted a question "What skills does it take to be a NASCAR driver..." or something like that...well he got me chatting and bantering back and forth with him and then when it was all done...reported me for chatting and bantering. LOL I didn't even bother to appeal.
I know there is one here...maybe more but one especially. i don't know the remedy. expect the worse and hope for the best?? Just be yourselves.
  • Yes, and the biopsy shows that it is malignant. : (
  • It seems so.I had a question reported the other day:it was the one talking about Bill Elliott and his 1988 championship team being honored before the Atlanta race.there was absolutely nothing wrong with that question.Whoever it is needs to grow up and find a hobby or something.
  • Yes we do and that person needs to step up or shut up and go the h*ll away.
  • Female mole we need to whack and/or use her as shark bait.

I'll take the 10 point hit for "The Nation". The real Nation. In the words of Frampton. Do you feel like I do?

    Later. And go Rays.
  • YES its probably a Gordon fan moling around. They're mad because he's not winning!glass armour
  • 29.10.08

Why i'm i being reported twice for the same question? ?

    May be...

  • I had that problem too. Today in fact form a question I asked a month ago. Funny it was not even in the nascar section.

    Just plain ridiculous.

Just don't worry about it or appeal. I deleted it by accident before I could appeal.

I am looking forward to the Nascar races this weekend
  • Well I can say you aren't alone on this one as I've had the same thing happening. I was getting violation notices left and right, even from answers months ago so I decided to cool it around here for a while before I lost my whole account. The only thing I can tell you is what everyone else has said. Appeal it. I've finally started winning some of mine, giving out a detailed explanation of why they are not in violation of the community guidelines seems to be my only way to get through to them. Hopefully if everyone keeps winning their appeals, this person who has gone report crazy will lose their "top reporter" status and won't have as much influence reporting everyones Q&A's.
  • get back with yahoo and send them the resonses they sent you to show that you have already had this thing done, maybe they can do something
  • You have received some good answers. I have appealed on two violations recently, it takes some patience to follow through, do not delete the violation messages. Use them as information when you appeal. I've had these two recent violations overturned by Yahoo. They are making an effort about false reporting.
Unless your questions were considered "chatting." This is a pretty broad so-called rule Yahoo has.
  • Use the appeal link on the email notice of violation. If the question was deleted in the first violation, it should not even exist. Definitely appeal their decision.

    *JUJU*
  • Two words. Troll Season.
  • Some of us have been reported for answers from a long time ago. I have only appealed three times...and I won two of those appeals. One just today. So keep at it and like someone told me today...maybe Yahoo will eventually see that it isn't the question/answer it's the one who is doing the reporting.
  • Idk maybe email yahoo and ask them about it
After 3 months the question should be removed or resolved so i dont know y u should get into trouble again
  • Yeah.. some people just like to be... how do you say it... in nice terms, LLAAAAAMMMMMEEEEE!

I've had two answers reported, and I appealed both. It worked. So maybe it'll work for you too. Just give a decent explanation and I'm sure It'll work out.
  • Because the schoolkids don't like you
(Tina, likes her thumbs "sticking up")
  • your problem is all the damn jerkoffs on here
  • There's been alot of that going on lately!
  • Please join the club.Unfortunately Yahoo answers need to be updated in order not to give every single jackass the opportunity to report without any real consideration
  • It took me a minute to understand your question but I think I know what your are asking.

What probably happened was your question got reported 3 months ago and no points were removed. If you don't appeal a violation then they don't remove any points.

Well if you appealed the question that you are talking about then Yahoo may have taken 2 or 3 months to review the case. I just won a case for a violation that I appealed over 2 months ago.

So what happened is they may have finally got around to reviewing your appeal and found that it was indeed a violation so they removed points and also gave you a penalty for waisting their time with an appeal. Check your email. They should have sent an email saying that your appeal was lost.
  • Most of my answers that are being reported have been resolved already,I sent mine to appeal and I have won 6 of the 7 I am still waiting on the 7th. I say just appeal, most people are winning however you think yahoo would close out the account of the person going report crazy.
  • I'm sorry to tell you that this question will probably be reported, too. Yahoo Answers NASCAR seems to have acquired a brand-new, self-appointed sheriff. He/She will report you for the slightest deviation from the community guidelines.
  • There's alot of "report abuse" abuse taking place around here.

Reporting is pathetic. Sorry that happened to you, I'm up to 4 violations in the last 5 days, the last one was for a question that I answered months ago. Hang in there, you're not alone!!!
  • yeah some one over reports on this stuff now... i got reported cuz i said bad stuff about jr in MY opinion is overrated.... got reported its crap
  • i asked a question about kyle and about 3 month ago got in trouble well this morning i got another violate for the same kyle question what's up with that?
    what should i do ?
  • It's YAHOO, I told 'em they need 2 look at the stupid questions. ask a stupid question 100:1 ur gonna get laid 2 waste. and Yahoolie took 10 points away from me cause I lost my appeal, BFD
  • Repeating the same question is against YA's rules. They ask that people report that along with all the other stuff. Read them sometime. My answer got reported on the question a while back ABOUT all the questions getting reported. I will say one thing. I have never had an answer reported that did not violate guidelines so I can't complain.
  • I don't know what to do about it other than say just appeal it and show them that the question has already been reported once. I am also getting reported left and right, hence my limited activity on this forum lately. I don't know how many violations it takes, but I am very surprised that I still have an account......windows media choppy
  • "If" Jimmie Johnson pours it on and wins this Sunday, does he break everyone else's back at that point?

    May be...

  • yes I would say so.I love Jimmie but I hope someone else wins this week.
  • Most likely. He seems to have the same mojo working that Gordon had in the late 90's. He just wins when he has to.
  • I think it does. I know it still wont let him clinch if he wins but if he does as Dandy Don Merideth and Willie Nelson have said "Turn out the lights the party's over"
  • As a HUGE Hendrick Motorsports fan, and a huge Gordon and Johnson fan, my opinion is this, it may be premature but: THIS CHASE IS OVER. Jimmie Johnson has all but locked up this title.
  • Yeah, can you imagine how frustrated Nascar will be if JJ wraps up the championship before they go to Homestead?! I would love to see him blow an engine on lap 4 this week.
  • depending on the run of the following 2 more than likely unless they would have a weekend that is, well nope that would not work either so yep he would pretty much have it locked up...
  • Texas is the track that turns the most G-Forces. I think if they have tire problems it could be at Texas. It may not be high scale tire problems but there could still be problems. If Johnson makes it through here with a top 10 (at least) then Rick Hendrick is going to be telling Jimmie to "think about the big picture" and all Jimmie will have to do is pull some top 10 finishes.

I think Jimmie will run in the top 15 most of the race, save his car, and at the end try to advance to the top 10 or more. Jimmie sandbags and waits until the end to improve position. If he sees he can get the win without jeopardizing the championship then he will. Off course I may be wrong on the sandbagging. He didn't sandbag at Martinsville like I thought he would.
    ----
Oh yea. Texas is a prime example of a track that drivers sandbag at.
  • If Johnson can post a top 5 finish, I think all he'll need to do is just start the other two races to clinch, no matter what anyone else does.
  • Definitely, especially with Phoenix being the next race. Homestead is another track where Roush/Fenway has a noticeable advantage but by then Jimmie might not even have to start the race to win his 3rd championship in a row. I just can't help thinking about what happened to Jeff there in the spring and I'm not talking any smack until this week's race is over and in the books!
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • I think so. I'm sure he will get his 3peat. But darn, I wish Jr. would win a race in the chase to move up in points.
  • I think he broke their back last weekend! As I understand it, the most points that can be lost or gained in a single race is 166. Jimmie has a 183 point lead. He could DNF any one of the last three races and still have the lead! This is what I call a real exciting Chase!
    PEACE
  • I would think even the most optimistic folks would concede at that point..............you???
  • i think he already has. they've probably already engraved his name on the trophy
  • He has broken everyone else's back already. The turning point was Talladega and he escaped with a 9th place finish while Biffle and Edwards crashed out. Now the only question remains is how many points is he going to win the title by. Based on current point standings this is poised to be the largest points margin since 2001 when Jeff Gordon beat Tony Stewart by 349 points
  • I think he pretty much broke there backs last week and he will be really stout at Texas ,he has a good shot at winning there !amtrak schedules and prices
  • What is "really" inside the inner section of the tires that the race cars use?

    May be...

  • small remotely controlled "firecrackers." whenever a caution is needed to bunch the field back up and no one can find any debris on the track that the camera will pick up, they blow one on michael waltrip's car.
  • They buy carbon credits from Al Gore, and fill the tires with that. This way Al Gore won't pick on NASCAR for pollution.
  • conspiracies?
  • They use nitrogen instead of air, and on tracks larger than 1 mile they have an inner liner for safety at higher speeds. It mounts to the rim and has its own air supply.

    *JUJU*
  • I think there were some gremlins in there during the Brickyard 400.
  • Actually nobody knows this. Even though Mike H swore me to secrecy I'm gonna give up the goods cuz he really ticked me off when he arranged it so Wussieboy Busch lost the Cup lead. NASCAR takes all the paper on which all the countless conspiracy theories are written and reduces them to their molecular level with a secret ray gun. Then, with help from Goodyear, they are injected into the actual material of which the tires are constructed. Thereby allowing the inner section of the tire to be empty as the outermost part is the weight bearing structure. It's hard to believe because you see all these tires being "cut down" by debris. But in reality those debris cautions are yet another part of the wider conspiracy between NASCAR, Goodyear, and the broadcasters. They stage them just to hide the tire secret and allow said broadcasters to air a commercial every 5 minutes. Ties that up in a neat little paranoid schizophrenic package. Don't it?economy t

    May be...

  • absoloutly, it's time for Jr. or Jeff Gordon to to show them fagets how to win a race.what would be really exciting would for jimmie to race somebody his own size.

    GO 88 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
  • Thanx for asking!!!!!!I definitely am tired of them.Cheaters!
  • Oh, I am. You have no idea.
  • I understand what you mean by "getting old", but I think that it is very exciting right now that there is a team dominating like this. It shows how competitive the sport really is. Jimmie and Chad are probably the best driver-crew chief combination since Jeff Gordon and Ray Evernham and might turn out to be one of the best all-time. I think we are all loyal to our favorite drivers, and that it would never get old for everyone else if their favorite driver and crew chief won like this, too. You have to appreciate every special win or moment that your favorite driver can get these days. Jimmie and his fans have been fortunate enough to celebrate the last few years. It won't last forever, and I'm sure that others will have their time to shine, just like Kyle Busch, Steve Addington, and the #18 fans had for most of this year.
  • Jealousy,is working again towards Jimmy.Getting old but they deserve to win .No one works harder that they do so too bad.You win cause you work harder at it.Its not like they have an advantage or anything
  • I would imagine it's not to his fans.
  • I just think that it is coincidental that a guy (going for a third title) can go a lap down, be 12-13 with just a few laps remaining and finish second.....and noone took him out while he was passing?.....
  • It's definitely grating, but he's in the lead and very close to clinching another championship so it's kind of expected. I'd be ecstatic if they talked about my driver that much so I know his fans are happy. In the meantime I just switch the channel or hit mute.
  • Yes, I've been tired of them for a long time. I like variety.
  • I was tired of it last year. This year I'm immune to it.
  • me im sick of jimmie winning everything
  • Not me!
  • The Chad and Jimmie show never gets old to me.
  • I really don't like when anyone team dominates there's enough to go around!!
  • I love it. Anything beats watching Kyle Busch whine.
  • i think people get tired of it cuz they just dont know how hard it is to be that good

they sit at home and watch and think why cant they just spread it around, then if that happen it would really be rigged
  • Not for the past few weeks No.
  • i admit it gets old but watching kyle busch dominate the regular season got old too.
  • I'm wore out on it. I think if I hear their names as much as last Sunday I'm gonna be watching more football, its all you hear now, Media Idiots theres 42 more drivers out there and 11 more guys in the chase. I like Jimmie, he is great but its overkill. Kyle Busch did not get this much attention when he was winning.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • You and the rest of the haters.

    Definitely not me ;)
  • Can we say Ray Everinham and Jeff Gordon.Got old then then they parted.Could the future have something in store?
  • im not hating, just saying its getting old
  • He's in the lead...what do you expect? Everybody was tired of the Kyle Busch show earlier this season when he was winning...I do think it would be nice to see the Dale Jr. show, but it ain't gonna happen this year. We just have to endure the same thing no matter who is winning.

    *JUJU*
  • It's so boring. If he was so good you'd think he would win in the Nationwide series more often. He just has a good team around him. Instead of chase for the cup they should call it the Chase to catch Jimmie.
  • Just think if it was the time of The King or The Intimidator ! Jimmie is just on a roll and doesn't look like he will be stopped any time soon !
  • i'm not, and i should be as this was supposed to be the "kyle busch" chase. chad and jimmie are just that good and that fun to watch. i remember so many races last year (and many earlier this year), where something would happen and put them pretty far back in the pack, and they'd always figure out a way to get at least a decent finish. they have mastered the strategy and psychology of the chase format from daytona to homestead and it is an amazing thing to watch. i just hope addington, zippy, and ford can get it together quickly enough to challenge that strategical superiority soon.
  • Sure sounds like 'hating' to me.
  • Just the other haters...Certainly not his fans.
  • ah, well anybody dominating gets old, I was sick of Kyle Busch and Steve Addington earlier in the year.
  • Watching jimmie johnson an that team win never gets old .paid rate
  • I asked if anybody knew what were the valve stem diameters used in Formula One...?

    May be...

  • .

Bunch of daffodil stems. 5.3mm on average.

$4 dollars a bunch...who'da thought that eh? $4 a bunch...I think they may have been forced though as traditionally they flower at Easter.

NB. Bad Bus Driving Wolf was probably drunk at the time mate, something that you may wanna take up as alcohol will lighten you up.
    Aum...ding

    .
  • ...and you would not believe the moron answers I got. This one fom Bad Bus Driving Wolf takes the cake: "I'm not familiar with F1 engines, but I do know two things: 1) the engines are "homoglated" which means the manufacturer is bearly able to change it; and 2) the engines are inspected by the stewards (especially if you are first). This means that a copy of the engine blueprints are held by the stewards so they can check the engine hasn't been changed. If the valve stem had a minimum diameter (and I cannot imagine why), then it would be plainly obvious to the stewards.
As I said, I cannot imagine why a valve stem of this diameter or that diameter is legal or illegal. That is like saying you have to have a particular diameter gauges in the car. While it is arguable this is a safety issue because the head of the exhaust valve could break and be ejected and hit someone (I did see a valve head come out at one race in 1983, but it didn't hit anyone and the engine failed), I think the probability of this happening is pretty small and there is more chance of person being killed refueling a car." Hey buddy, trim your mullet, you aint no Harry Weslake.

    Michael Johns National Anthem?

    May be...

  • I was there & it was fine. But he took too long to sing it. I mean he seemed to drag it on for longer than necessary. But that could just be because I had been setting there for like 2 hours & had to listen for 10 minutes for them to all but had JJ the trophy during driver intros.

But it was kool........it was better than some others I have heard.......And I agree with the above poster.........perfect timing for the flyover.......
  • Not good. Another one that had to ruin it. It was disrespectful. Just sing it the way it is written.
  • it was the best anthem i heard in quite awhile at a sportin event.
  • It was pretty good, I could atleast listen to him, not like changing channels when Jessica Simpson gave me a headache and ear ache, and my cats left the room she was so bad. I liked Johns when he was on idol, he did pretty good job.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • A very good job..............Unlike last night's at the World Series.......I think it was Patti Labelle and I thought it was horrible!!
  • Johns' rendition was fine. He obviously has a great voice, but to go on as many runs as he did during the National Anthem was a little too much. The National Anthem means more than the performer. I'll explain my point with an example. A few years ago there was a football game taking place just months after the onset of our brave men & women being called up to go into battle. The singer, at the time, was one of the most popular & best selling artists. The performer's voice was strong, vibrant and recognized as one of the best in the world. This artist performed our National Anthem during a time of national crisis. The performance didn't need to be enhanced (other than by the voice-which it was). The artist sang, the crowd cheered, many wept at the powerful blend of a singer at the top of her career singing our National Anthem to the best of her ability. She didn't overpower the song-she didn't have to, but it's probably the most memorable pregame moment in Super Bowl history. Whitney Houston at Superbowl XXV. Enjoy
  • Michael Johns sang the National Anthem at Atlanta. What did you think of it?
  • Best i've heard in a while.
  • it was quite different !! Enjoyable.
most everyone around me seemed to like it as well.
Perfect timing with the C-130 flyover, I might ad
  • It was Hot-lanta. darlin'
  • i thought it was really good way better than Jessica Simpson how can you be a kid in this country and never learn the words to the National Anthem? Now that's the real questionrs232 pins
  • Where's "Rowdy" when you need him?

    May be...

  • i could almost even say i agree with you there. my only defense is that you didn't ask "who is the better cup driver" but the "better race car driver" and i'll put my money on kyle over carl across the board anytime. Report Abuse
  • Carl Edwards. He actually RACES.Kyle busch drives dirty.Anybody can pass their opponent by wrecking them to pass. It take TALENT to pass by skill.
  • Carl Edwards.

Kyle Busch is the better choke job artist however.
  • Carl Edwards anyday!!!!
Busch needs to grow up and act like a man or get out of Nascar. I am tired of his whinning.
  • Kyle Busch, how many road course wins does Carl Edwards have? Infineon and Watkins Glen are the hardest tracks to win at and he doesn't have any.
  • Back where he belongs not in 1st!!!!!!!!
  • Kyle Busch!
  • Carl is more consistent, and is sitting 2nd in the points. Kyle has flashes of brilliance, and has 12th place all sewn up. I'm no good at math, but....
  • Both.

They both can wrestle a car...

  • Overall, I think Kyle is the better driver. He has come a long way, but still needs to mature (translation "grow up"). At the moment, Carl Edwards is the better driver. Jimmie Johnson, however, is the BEST driver. 3 straight in '08!! Yee Haw.
  • Carl is better in the Nationwide series too. If Ford and Chevy were using their new R07 engines the statistics would be way different in the Nationwide series. Report Abuse
  • Burnt out too early.
  • Actually I like you Rowdy. You are one of the few I was referring to as a true Kyle fan. You do give good answers. Report Abuse
  • Kyle Busch, for one reason they guy has no fear. Does that make him better? Well in my opinion yes, because you have to have a set of no fear bal!s when racing or you can not be the best. Skill, I think they are both the same.
  • Go Tina! Go! Report Abuse
  • Don't care for either. But choosing Carl Edwards
  • Kyle. It's a shame that he's gone this far this year to end up far behind in 12th position. GO 48!!!!!
  • Kyle Busch.

Saying that Edwards is better than Busch, just because he's second in points is not a fair argument. All of Kyle's Chase mishaps have been problems out of his control and not because driver error.

Kyle has 20 wins in all three series this season, 15 between Cup and Nationwide. Carl only has 12 in Cup and Nationwide.

Kyle has 9 wins in just Nationwide. Carl only has 5 wins. Plus, Carl's made more starts in the Nationwide series than Kyle and he still has less wins. That right there should tell you who the better driver is.
  • Flip a coin, they are both awesome wheelmen.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • i try, or am very trying, depending upon whom you ask...
  • I have to give credit where credit is due. Kyle Busch can out wheel a ride better than most drivers today. Heres a guy who has driven the wheels off of some not so perfect rides this year, and won! Carl Rousch's rides are always stuck to the ground, just on the gas flyin! I'm not too much of an Edwards or Rowdy fan but, Kyle can drive !
  • gah...my two favorites... I think they are both great of course, but between the two they have their high points, kyle tends to be more 'ballzy' at any given time and carl tends to be more reserved until the end of the race and then its 'ballz to the wallz'. LOL they' have both had their share of dirty race moves, but hey THATS RACING PEOPLE!!! I think they are equal.
  • Cousin Carl
  • kyle busch. he's won in all three series four years in a row driving chevy trucks, chevy cars, toyota trucks, toyota cars, not to mention his late model wins in what i'm pretty sure are chevys (they may be toyotas this year, but i don't think so). he's won more races across all three series this year, smashing harvick's record of 14 back in 2006. he has driven for more owners, more teams, and more crew chiefs this year and last than carl has in his whole career, and last year finished better than carl in the points (for those who say he didn't do well in chevy equipment).

as for him needing a horsepower advantage, may i remind you that kyle has won in the nationwide series what, four times now since they put the stricter restrictor plate on the toyotas in the nationwide series--and not just on short tracks like ORP, but also at tracks where horsepower matters like fontana, dover, and charlotte.

carl is very good, but kyle is more versatile.
  • Edwards
  • Kyle Busch.

Carl Edwards is a close 2nd. They both can drive anything you put them in, even if it's dirt late models. Kyle has 20 wins total this season, though, and Carl doesn't.
  • Carl Edwards. He's made some mistakes sure but so has Kyle Busch. And Carl Edwards is a MUCH nicer person!
  • They're both amazing at what they do. Kyle has the edge.
  • Who do you think is a better race car driver; Carl Edwards or Kyle Busch?
  • that's an opinion and you are welcome to it. i disagree. simple as that. Report Abuse
  • vroom Report Abuse
  • It was once said by Rick Hendrick that a good race car driver can make up a 15 or 20 horsepower advantage another driver has on everyone else. I think Kyle can only be good when he has an advantage but when things are equal then he's NOT as good and NOT the driver that can make up a 15 or 20 horsepower advantage that someone else has over him.

I think Carl Edwards "is" the type of driver that can make up an 15 or 20 horsepower advantage that someone has over him. So My choice is definitely Carl Edwards.

The proof is in the past. Kyle Busch could not out drive Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon in the same equipment while driving for Hendrick. But as long as he's been driving Toyota and the scandals Toyota has been involved in then he's been winning.

    So there's the proof.
  • Kyle can drive anything, anwhere, anytime, and will do whatever it takes to win.

Does that make him a better driver? When it works, yes.
When it doesn't? It was still fun watching, and it still rocks knowing he wanted it that badly.
    Edge goes to Kyle.softimage demo
  • Is it about time NASCAR ends the final points races for the championship?

    May be...

  • I like competition. As long as the rules are the same for everybody going into the season, it shouldn't make a difference. There's plenty of time to prepare for the chase and to prove yourself. Either you "can" or you "can't". Anything other than that is just "tough luck". And as I always say, "there is no good luck in racing, only bad luck".
  • I hate the chase bs. If the old system was good for Dale sr.Why not now.
  • Last year should have belonged to Jeff Gordon and this year should belong to Kyle B. The adulterated tampering has blanked the whole thing up. You may not have wanted Jeff or Kyle to win the championship but you couldn't have said that they didn't earn it.

I think the feelings are that JJ has not earned the right by only mastering the championship and not the season the way Jeff and Kyle have.
  • I agree with everything you wrote above, 2gadoo! great question & insight!
  • I like the old system better, but to your Johnson comment, he will if he wins it be up there with Yarborough and that would be a great accomplishment.
  • I don't like the Chase and I don't like JJ. But I will absolutely give him and Chad all the credit for they have done. The system is what it is. Everybody is playing by the same rules and they are just killing them. You have to strategize according to the system in place. As good as they've been, they would probably have won these 3 championships under any format.
  • They should go back to the old way. I'm a old school fan.
  • Yes, things WOULD be totally different if they didn't have the chase but the teams have to work within the rules they are given. The 48 team would also have done some things differently earlier in the season if they were racing under the old points system but they obvuiously key on the last 10 races because that's how it's setup these days. The competition is much tougher nowdays, with more equal cars and more drivers racing in ALL the sheduled events. You can dislike the chase all you want but you cannot take anything away from Jimmie, Chad and Rick. They have worked harder and prepared better than the other teams plain and simple. Change the rules and format, the 48 team will adapt. Why is everybody hating on Jimmie for being one of the all time greats? Stop the hating and start appreciating!
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • I do not watch NASCAR. But I have a friend who is going to take me to a race and he gets pit passes ; )

    Sounds like fun!

I have also been told that sitting up close and feeling the vibrations would be EXCITING *wink*

    GO PHILLIES!!!!!!!

    GO CELTICS!!!!!

    GO NASCAR!!!!!
  • I think that nascar intended to put excitement into the races because they were competting with football. For me this did not work and they need to go back to the way it was before. The only real champion is the guy who earned the most points during the year,or cut it back to ten races and call it a year. to me it is like a fishing contest, you fish 2 days to get a 10 pound lead then on the third day they take erase everything and send you out to fish and you lose by one pound to the lowest guy that came in. This is not justice it is a kick in the crotch. I actually watch less racing now that they started this chase crap.
  • This is ridiculous. How many years have we had the Chase now? The rules are the same for everyone. Get over the "Johnson hating" and give him his credit. Had Scrub not pulled off one the BIGGEST choke jobs in sports history and continued running like he had been, Johnson would be a non-factor right now. He's going out winning races, and when not winning, he's passing 9 cars in a handful of laps to finish 2nd.

Can't blame him or Knaus for having the Chase formula figured out. It's time for everyone else to try to catch up and not spend all their time and energy to dominate the first 26 races of the season.
  • As someone already said. Johnson WOULD still be the points leader if onm the old system.

Classic Driver Points Standings [after Atlanta race 33 of 36]:

  • Not a chase fan and yes it should be changed to whoever has the most points at the last race wins the championship. No more wiping the slate clean after months of hard work.

And I will stick by this whoever is or is not winning...I said it way before and I will continue to say it.
  • The race for the cup seems more like a joke than anything. Now Jimmie Johnson is being compared to some of the greats of all time. Yes he is a great driver but when you have a system like NASCAR has then its a totally different season.
I say go back to the old way and give an extra 25 or more point bonus for winning the race.
    Any thoughts from NASCAR fans?
  • You can argue many different points, but one thing is true - Jimmie Johnson would still be points leader this year no matter which points system is in place. The only championship Jimmie would have lost is last year. Gordon would have taken that one. Get your facts straight before you ramble on.
  • Jeffys got it down! Scroll up!
  • My main complaint with the chase is that people are saying Jimmie wins "when it counts"
The whole season should count, not just the last ten races.
True, Jimmie would still be the points leader, and I'm not saying he hasn't done anything all season, it just seems as though he always kicks it into high gear come time for the chase as though the first 26 races were just practice sessions not accomplishments.
    That's a shame.
If all teams were to do that, what a boring, pathetic season it would be.
  • YES HE WOULD BE WINNING NOW
another so called race fan -- where do yall come from here at the end
  • Unfortunately this is a loaded question. They raced in different times, with different equipment, and different rules.

Yarborough ran for 35 years (1957-1988) and raced in 560 races. He has 83 wins. That gives him a 14.82 percent win ratio.

JJ has raced since 2001 (7 years) and raced in 252 races at the end of this season. As of today he has 39 wins. That gives him a win ratio of 15.48 percent.

So as far as number go, JJ is a slightly better driver, but I agree that if you take away the Chase format, he might not be doing as well as he is.

Sorry, it's early and the caffeine is just starting to kick in.
  • I don't think they will go back. I don't like it either except for the fact that Kyle Busch is not "in it". It doesn't seem fair, though!data received in unknown format 0x1505
  • Is Mark Martin driving the #5 car at Homestead?

    May be...

  • They are just trolls giving thumbs down because I speak the truth about their driver and it hurts their feelings.

Thanks for the best answer. Report Abuse
  • Looks like it is a good possibility.
  • yes i think so
  • I think I heard it was a rumor, but really now it is very likely that he will be, and what most people think.
  • It started as a rumor but it's now official. YES he will drive the #5 at Homestead.
  • Thats what I heard them say today on the TV. I copied and pasted the article Jayski has on it.:

Martin to the #5...in 2008? UPDATE: hearing that Mark Martin may get started on his ride a few races early and running the #5 Carquest/Kelloggs Chevy for Hendrick Motorsports in the final four races [Atlanta , Texas, Phoenix, Homestead] of the 2008 Cup season. Casey Mears currently drives the car. Martin is slated to drive the #8 US Army Chevy for DEI in 3 of the 4 final 2008 races, with Aric Almirola in at Phoenix.(8-6-2008)
UPDATE: during SPEED's coverage of the first Saturday practice, Larry McReynolds said he had a nugget....Mark Martin will run the final four races of the 2008 Sprint Cup season, including the final race at Homestead, but not in the #8 DEI Chevy, but in a Hendrick Chevy, so he could be in the #5 Chevy, meaning we may see Casey Mears in a 4th RCR car [#33?] at Homestead.(10-25-2008) Comment here
  • ...the last race in the Chase for the 2008 Cup Series
  • Yes
Mears will drive his new car for 2009 and Mark Martin will drive his new car for 2009 in the Homestead race this year. It was said during the Atlanta race that Mark Martin is obligated for 2 more races with DEI and after that then he'll drive the last race this year in the HMS #5 car.1271q

woooo done. I think I got them all. lol

Yeah and you are right you added wrong or missed something.
  • I thought Dale Earnhardt Jr cannot drive in the 2009 Bud shootout because he hasn't won a pole this year and they are no longer allowing past winners to compete.
  • All you did was tell us how many wins Jr. was going to have...
    So what's your point?
    Jr.'s going to dominate?
    We figured..
And look-e here.... Jr. wins the shootout, the 500, and both Richmond's?
Not a chance... with his current and past performance..

Where's Gordon's name on that list?

    Let me make something clear:
    It's obvious, we all know..
Jr. will not get that many of wins..
Just look at the last 3 years, with, if you've noticed, DEI and Hendrick..
    Only 2 wins..
Bottom line: He will not get 8 wins..

Not with that crew chief, he won't!
  • Kyle Busch wins them all.
  • To Make It Short and Sweet

    Martin Truex Jr 20 wins
    Paul Menard 8 wins
    Aric Almirola 4 wins
    Regan Smith 4wins
