How and where to watch NASCAR racing matches live for free online?

May be...

  • The only way that I have seen that works is channel surfing.net and it only works 80 % of the time .
  • i don't know, but please don't call races matches any more lol
  • Is there any good way?
  • sg That's odd you asked that because on http://www.ezopinion.info/track/go.php?c... I encountered precisely what you are searching for. I'm sure that is the place I saw that.
  • Go to http://satellite-tv-softwares.blogspot.c... Get satellite tv software for your computer, with it you can watch NASCAR racing games live for free on your PC.And with it you can also watch many other tv channels like FOX,CNN,ABC,ESPN,NBC,BBC etc live for free on your PC.5210 code nokia
  • How do you get a job raceing nascar?

    May be...

  • You don't. People have a better chance of being struck by lightning. The ones who make it, don't ever need to ask how.
  • Be a redneck and drive fast.
  • be a great driver
    get a team
    have some luck
    get a sponsorweb browser frames
  • What happens nows since Kyle Busch won the pole for tomorrows race?

    May be...

  • He goes to the back of the pack (along with 4 other Toyotas), and Jimmie Johnson who qualified 3rd moves foreward. He'll get back to the front if his car holds out. The Toyotas don't look real good. Uh-Oh...Logano (in a Toy) just hit the wall in practice. Kurt is doing good this year.

    *SHOQ*
  • 1) yes he still goes to the back (chuckle), but no, kurt does not get inside pole, the guy who quaified 3rd just moves up.
    2) yes he gets that little plaque for winning the pole (his parents must be proud)
    3) his chances of getting up front are slim and none, and i believe slim is packing his bags to leave town. hold on, let me go check.

yep, he's already gone, so i guess that leaves none.
    4) yes, he has a great car for now, but it won't look so great all wadded up on the back of a tow truck tommorrow.
    5) yep, them busch brothers are somethin' huh? kurt, kyle, and don't forget their 3rd brother pee wee
  • He still goes to the back and Kurt get the lead?
Does he get the Pole award?
What are his chances of getting to the front?
Does he have a great car? :0)
    How about those Busch brothers?
  • What 88 said. Unless Kyle crashes and takes out many other cars trying to pass, they will get him to the front on pit strategy. He has the equipment-will take maturity and patience-which he doesn't have.
  • He still goes to the back and Kurt get the lead? Not quite as only the inside line moves up when Kyle moves back.

Does he get the Pole award? Yes he gets the Coors Pole award and gets a little bit of money that goes with it. (I think the pole pays $10K)
What are his chances of getting to the front? Very good
Does he have a great car? :0) yes
How about those Busch brothers? They are good but it seems Kyle has a little more talent than Kurt.

Funny little tidbit not related to your question. This is already the 2nd time the pole winner has had to move to the back this year. Winning the pole might actually be bad luck this year.
  • He still goes to the back and Kurt get the lead?

No, Jimmie starts on the pole, because the inside line moves up to fill the gap

Does he get the Pole award?

    Yes

What are his chances of getting to the front?

Excellent, he has a great car and it's a long race.

Does he have a great car?

    Yes

    How about those Busch brothers?

Good for them, they'll be up front on the parade lap, in front of a hometown crowd.
  • 1, No but i think he should
    2, yes he does
    3, that is a 50-50 shot
    4,WELL YES GREAT CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    5,There not twins LOL
  • well they don't call him wild for nothing he can win no doubt about it he can get to aggressive at times and get his self in trouble
  • Kyle does gets the Pole award.
    Kurt stay's in second.
Jimmie Johnson when start on the pole and every one on the row cloest to the pit's will move up one.
His chances on getting to the front is good.
The Busch Brothers are going to have a good year.
  • I won't bother to repeat what everyone has said above me. But what is most important is that he will not lose his pit stall position. I'm sure they choose the first pit out. That's a real advantage not matter where you start.
I think it's great that Kurt is in better equipment this year. It's showing every week!
    Peace!
  • He goes to the rear of the field and the inside lane moves up,giving my man Jimmie Johnson the first starting spot. However,Kyle will still be awarded the Coor's Light Pole Award.Kyle has a great chance of getting to the front(and winning)as he has:
A)a great car for this weekend(even after the engine change-he was in the top 5 in practice this morning)

B)enough skill and aggression to get the job done

C)the best average finishing position of all drivers at LVMS

It is great that the Busch brothers swept the front row at Vegas(their hometown track).I think we all expected to see Kyle doing good this year, but I am glad that Kurt is running up front and hope he keeps it up :)
  • 1) yes
    2) yes
    3) good
    4) yes
    5) pretty cool they both qualified 1st and 2nd
  • He still goes to the back and Kurt get the lead? kyle goes to the back but jimmie starts 1st, becuz the inside line moves up only.

Does he get the Pole award? kyle gets credited with the pole but it won't mean much considering where he'll start.

What are his chances of getting to the front? very good

Does he have a great car? :0) i think so

How about those Busch brothers? its cool how the two vegas native brothers get to start on the front row (well, sort of) on the las vegas track.
  • It's all good.tsingtao radio
  • If Jr. falls out of the top 35, how crazy do you think it will get in here?

    May be...

  • If Jr, falls out of the top 35 I am packing my bags and leaving the Nation. People think its bad in here now........And I seriously think they would drop the top 35 rule, after all they changed the chase from top 10 to 12 because a certain someone didn't make the chase one year, not mentioning any names.
  • Very crazy. I swear, Junebug better as hell not fall out. I will flip.
  • pretty bad
  • WICKED CRAZY with waaaaay too many little "green" trolls popping up everywhere. No, they are not going to change the rules, cos it ain't gonna happen.

    *SHOQ*
  • I don't want any part of it . There would be more trolls running around than we have traps for!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
  • ....same as the XXXX chase, positions would be added so certain people will get in.
.....Drop the top 35 race the FASTEST 43
    ....Dump the chase
  • Jr's popularity is a holdover from Sr. He cannot maintain concentration for a full race without screwing up. He may not be the most overated driver, but he is a close second. Big track racing where you just put the pedal down and don't have to use your smarts is where he has the best chance. He deserves to drop out of the top 35.
  • Anything is possible, but I really don't think they will change the rule. I change see why they would change it, but I don't think he will drop out in the first place. And even if he does, I don't think it will last all year long. So I don't think they need to change it. NASCAR could have let him go to the banquet last year if they wanted to, but they didn't. I'm sure it would be real crazy here if he does fall out.
  • It'll be absolutely insane. You'll have Jr Nation going nuts, and the Jr bashers going into a feeding frenzy.
  • It would get completely out of control. I would agree though (about the rule-bashing) I LOATHE it!!!!!!! here's why:
  • oh man! i don't even want to think about that. I know there would be alot of violation notices being handed out.
  • It would get crazy all over the world,Prez lol.

If that did happen,NASCAR would add another rule. The would have(starting immediately, not next year):
    -top 35 rule
    -past champions provisional
-Dale,Jr. rescue provisional( a spot reserved for Dale Earnhardt,Jr. in case he falls out of the top 35)
  • With all the bashing of the rule that is. I know a lot of people don't like it already. Do you think the rule will return next year if he drops out? I know he probably won't, it's hypothetical.
  • Way early in the season. After this weekend he will have it all behind him and do OK.

His fans will always support him. The bashing trolls will go for the throat.
  • I don't know quite what you're getting at but remember the first year of the chase? Smoke finished out of the top ten, and the next year NASCAR expanded the field to 12 cars. Coincidence? I think not.
  • Wow, I never even thought of that. Well if that does happen, I think I'll chill in the football section for a couple of days...dial up error in
  • Nascar Nation , ............?

    May be...

  • Un-pin his ear's.
  • Making him make the race yesterday.
  • Well if i was 15 years younger and he was single yes then Elliot would be perfect! You asked! I like his driving style, his sense of humor and the fact that he stands up for himself.
  • Well since he died in 1993 I'd bring him back to life
  • Nope he's not perfect but I've enjoyed watching him come from a little winning punk kid with arrogant attitude...to a mature and winning adult with confident attitude.....and the passion for racing and winning unlike some of the other drivers.
I don't know if there is anything that I would "change" about him.
  • Show more aggression.
  • I'd have him grow a pair. Sometimes you have to wreck a few to win.
  • I like Jeff Gordon just the way he is .
  • I wouldn't change a thing about my favorite driver.
  • I'd like mine to get a back bone and not be so nicey nice on the race track. If he ever wants to win a race, he is gonna have to learn to move people out of the way.
  • If you could change just one thing about your driver , What would it be?
    OR IS HE PERFECT !!!!!!!!!!

Generally speaking, you aren't learning much when your lips are moving.
  • I like him just how he is, but I'd like to see him be more focused and not give up when something goes wrong.
  • Get a better hair cut!!!
  • make him win more
  • I'm with Storm on this one. I don't think I'd change a thing with Jimmie, he seems to be doing alright the way he is. How was the wedding? You're up pretty early for having a wedding reception/dance last night.

Why is there such a lag on Speed TV, compared to the live leaderboard on nascar.com?

    May be...

  • They are rarely in sync with each other.
  • Probably just the satellite broadcast. I have a TV on rabbit ears on my computer desk at home and when my DirecTV is on the same local channel in the family room, the satellite is atleast 20 seconds or more behind the rabbit ears.
  • I'm not sure if this is the reason but I remember a while back when Dale Earnhardt Jr said on TV "That ain't 'Sheet'" there was also the incident where one of Janet Jackson's boobs got loose on national TV and stations decided to monitor what was broadcast in order to keep drivers from saying things on TV that was against the FCC regulations. The FCC was pretty hot about the Janet Jackson boob thing during the Superbowl I believe it was and NASCAR didn't want to get an FCC fine so they put a time lag on the broadcast. FOXtrax on FOX is the same way. It is ahead slightly of the actual TV broadcast. It allows TV stations time to bleep unwanted material.
    http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,...

    http://www.redorbit.com/news/general/920...

    http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.ht...

It started with the Janet Jackson thing and then after Dale Jr made his slip stations started the time lag.
  • nascar.com has their priorities in order
  • That is because they do the broadcast in a way to show almost every car. When they go to commercial they pause the broadcast.
  • I'm watching the live leaderboard at the same time, and it seems like Speed TV is 4 cars behind.
  • It's actually a combination of things.

#1----Generally the broadcast has anywhere from a 5 to 10 second
delay to protect against foul language, bad crashes where things
shouldn't be seen by the public, or other things that the FCC
    would ding a network over.

#2-----Speed usually pauses the coverage during qualifying so that
all the drivers can be seen qualifying although they do
sometimes skip over the lesser known one car teams.
From what I hear they do not do this during live races (trucks)

#3------Speed is not as fast as they claim to be --LOL!
  • There's a 5 second delay now--thank-you Janet Jackson!coreldraw cdr viewer
  • Who win's the Pole in Vegas?

    May be...

  • The guy with the fastest car and the fastest lap.
  • I'll go with David Ragan. I don't know why, I just think he's going to surprise everyone this weekend.
  • Kurt or Kyle Busch
  • I am hoping Terri-Lynne is right & Ryan Newman gets the pole!
  • Kyle Bush. At least I think so being his home town he will try harder.
  • I am not going to get this right but Robby Gordon will be on the poll.
  • If I were betting on it I'd say Jimmie Johnson but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Juan Pablo Montoya will get the Vegas pole. It's a fairly flat track, as far as intermediate ones go, and he has a knack for them.

  • Jeff Gordon
  • jeff gordon or kyle bush
  • One of the Busch boys
  • good question ill let you know when i find it
  • I'll have to bet on Jimmie Johnson!
  • I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Jamie Mac. He wouldn't have been my first choice, but I didn't want to repeat an answer already given.
  • I don't know why, but I have a gut feeling it's going to be Kasey Kahne.

  • Y yall hatin on digger?

    May be...

  • He is cute. Reminds me of my groundhog named Gregory the IV that is hibernating under the shed. Funny when I see the digger cartoons before the race (yes I watch them) I think of my groundhog. Actually my groundhog will be waking up soon.

I was laughing at the episode on sunday of the digger when he was doing those advertisements for the pest people (his new sponsor) then his Dad got him that radish sonsor in the end.
  • Digger is awesome.

Tell me something that is better than watching 43 cars thunder around a turn and coming straight for the camera?
  • I'm just not into cartoons especially stuffed rodents., Give me the race and no stupid stuff. Thank god for MRN/PRN and there pre race show on Sirius Sattelite radio, its awesome. Theres no kids in my house, so I can do without Digger.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I kinda warmed up to him last week and chuckled at it. His over commercialization makes me sick though.
  • diggers the man why does no one like him he lightens up the day jeeze getta sence of humour
  • I like digger, he is awsome.
  • I think he is great and my 8 year old son absolutely adores him. I think Digger is a good way to get the kids interested in racing. So really, what could possibly be wrong with that.
  • He's kinda like Larry McReynolds(except with lips). He gets on your nerves because he takes up most of the camera shot!
  • digger is ok but i like grave digger the monster truck better.lol.
  • He's a wuss. He always goes back to his hole when he sees Gordon speeding by him in 2 feet. I can do that!!!
  • I just think that it doesn't belong.I mean I really don't see the point in it.I understand that the kids probably like it,but it should probably be on another channel or something or at another time.I just really hated it that they had the time for that little cartoon and all the rambling, but not enough to get the rest of the Daytona 500 in.
  • I like digger I think he's fun. I don't like what it's become though I can do without the whole digger family, songs and commercials. But the digger cam is pretty cool.
  • He doesn't bother me.
  • He annoys me, but after that HORRID race at Fontana, I'm glad he was there, he made it more watchable.
  • a bunch of gopher phobes
  • I dont like it because its very childish and alot of new fans gets turned off because of it. They also spend way to much time on it.
  • Digger is just as stupid as the announcers that tout him.
  • VARMINT!!!!
  • It's not Digger himself that bothers me, it's the fact that he's on every 10 seconds that gets on my nerves.
  • I agree with Casey's girl........My grandson loves digger and when he was given a digger that his mom bought at a race last year he was thrilled.Remember merchandise sales help make the wheels of Nascar turn. Go DIGGER Go DIGGER.
  • I like diggers
    ...i mean diggerflash enabled browser
  • What would you choose?

    May be...

  • Digger's demise. PLEASE!!! Hope that gray fox followed FOX to Vegas to get his lunch.

<-- Bolt wants to OM NOM NOM that camera rat!!!
  • you got somethin' against gophers do ya?
  • diggers demise
  • Alright, I'll take Junior's first win.
  • Priorities, Juniors first win then the demise of Digger.
  • Jr's first win of the season, of course!
  • Oo this is a hard one but I pick Jr win. My female german shepherd has caught 3 diggers (groundhogs) in the last 2 years on our property, we have a 4th one hibernating under the shed now. She will get it when it wakes up. She is quick and usually ends their life in about 20 seconds and the largest one she got was a huge 20 pound one. Maybe I hould bring her to a race to take care of digger real fast, quick & clean.
  • Die, Digger, die!
  • Digger needs some 12 gauge # 6 shot . For sho.
  • I like Digger, but I think I would prefer to see him go then see Jr win a race this season. Sorry.
  • Dale Earnhardt Junior has more experience definitely he,s the Man
  • Diggers demise from NASCAR.
  • Digger's demise
  • jr win then have digger outa here
  • JR's first win of 09
  • I LOVE DIGGER!! LOL dales win first before anything
  • Give me Dale Jrs first win of the season, and maybe he can put Digger out of his misery with some awesome burnouts.

    Go Dlae Jr & Hms
  • I would focus on the positive.
    COME ON #88 !
  • I'll take Junior's win. I guess I can deal with digger for a little while even though it is pointless and annoying
  • Ok I'm confused. Digger's demise I guess.
  • Digger really does have to go. He was cute at first. Now he is just too much.
  • Digger meets a car and gets hit.
  • His next win. Digger is sort of a pain in the ,,,
  • its about to turn into caddy shack on the infield of nascar, except of course no golf lol. but i would definentley like to see jr get his first win of the season.
  • Diggers demise from nascar.
  • One Shot, One Kill
    R.I.P.Digger
  • little E's win, i like digger i dont see what yall hate about him
  • I like digger and my son loves digger so even though it hurts to say so, I would pick Jr winning.
  • I want the Jr, win- I could mute Digger til then.
  • Diggers demise from NASCAR!!!!!!!!!!
  • diggers demise plz
  • Between Dale Earnhardt Junior first win of the season or Diggers demise from nascar>

Which of these two would you like to see happen first>

  • How to start a career in racing?

    May be...

  • Buy a used formula Ford with a good engine and get out there, who knows if you have some talent and someone spots it you could be the next big name.
  • Ok, I am 18 years old and i want to know what i have to do to start a career in raceing and makeing money in it. I wanted to do this when i 1st got my license and my car. i just love the sound of the engine and the faster i drive the more excited i get. I find this to be more of the career for me than what i am Majoring in at college right now. So at my age, right now, what would i have to do to get started? do i need to get a car?(Im not raceing in my camaro) were would i need to go? where to go to learn? what do i need to do?
  • "Don't quit your day job."

Everybody seems to think they're the greatest driver. Sure you can have fun doing it (driving fast) but it's a long way from that to making any money at it. You will spend tens of thousands of dollars before that happens. The difference between an amateur driver that thinks they are good and a professional driver that *is* good is more than most people realize.

You could start with either karting or SCCA. Neither will pay any money. Karting will run you $5000+ and SCCA maybe twice that, to get started with a kart/car, then of course tires and parts and fuel and getting to the track and back . . . it's a long road. Once you've established yourself well enough (win some championships) then you may be able to land some sponsorship or a ride with a pro team. But that won't happen unless you know (or learn quickly) how to drive and I don't mean driving street cars fast but high performance (race car) driving, something everybody thinks they know how to do but most find out otherwise when they actually compete against someone that really does.
  • Racing needs a lot of money as well as talenttmobile blackberry internet
  • Will a Labonte.....................

    May be...

  • Would You in this economy? Sorry I don't think their that stupid.
  • I doubt it; they don't seem to have that interest.
  • I doubt it. They have both had successful careers and should just try and enjoy their lives away from racing when they decide to retire for good. It's sort like having a bar or restaurant, everybody thinks it sounds cool to own one until they realize how much work and is and all the headaches it creates. When it comes to team ownership you won't get out of it what you end up putting into it, for the most part.
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • They had there own Nationwide then Busch team about ten years ago. Bobby drove it for a while #44 slim jim car. i dont think they will start it up again tho. I would like to see them try it tho. they would have the money and Terry's son i think it is Justin could drive for them.
  • Most likley no. Just because they win why would they start a team? Jeff gordon is good and will most likley not start a team so yea.
  • Actually, Jeff Gordon just has his name to a car. Technically, Hendrick is the owner. It's just a way around a rule. If you want to call Jeff Gordon an owner you gotta call people like, Mary Hendrick (#5), JD Gibbs (#11), Walter Czarnecki (#2), John Henry (#17), Geoff Smieth (#25), Bobby Ginn (#33), Margaret Hass (#14) as owners as well.

As for the Labonte's owning a team, I don't see it.
  • Do you think Terry or Bobby will eventually start their own team? Both are champions and know what it takes to win so why not?
  • Bobby LaBonte had a busch team a few years ago. Thats actually the car Stewart first started in. So its not out of the question. Terry's son also ran Bobby's cars a few years but shut down the team when Coast Gaurd took thier sponsorship to Richard Childress

If you can afford it, this is the perfect time to start a team. All kinds of great crew out there looking for jobs
  • I wouldnt be surprised. Bobby already started one a few years back, but he got to much into his own career that he put it on hold. So it wouldnt surprise me if in the next couple of years he brought it back up.speedthru-laptop-sleeve

Nascar and saving money with new rules and bs?

    May be...

  • From someone, me, that has been following Nascar all of my life, i'm 40, I can honestly say you have no idea what your talking about!!!!!!!!!
  • NASCAR is corproate(sp), no doubt about it. it has gotten completely away from its roots. Gone are the days in which small one and two car teams could win, and i know alot of yall think thats not true now that everthing is so cookie cutter, but think about this.. the races are not "impound" races which means no workin on the car after qualifing, so now the small teams have to set the car for qualifing just to get in and then hope that they get a chance during the race to adjust the car to be competitive. Also, now since the car has to meet so many inspections, the crew cheif and driver and others can no longer tweak and adjust the cars and use creativity and smarts to make their cars competitive which is what the small teams used to rely on to be competitive. now to win races u must have the money to get an engine package that wont break and creats enought hp, which is why the small team are having to combine and the large teams keep adding cars... call me crazy but as much as i love NASCAR, this recision might be just what the sport needs to take it back to its basics
  • smaller teams cannot handle the burdens that the bigger teams can as for the fans, the ticket prices are falling as well, we are all hard hit right now and your bellyaching is just another reminder that most are in the same boat, nascar is a great diversion from the day to day grind
  • Are you kidding me? If they can pay the last place finisher in the Daytona 500 $250,000, then I think they are full crap and anyone else that believes them is too. Nascar has plenty of money and I'm so sick of hearing about this and that in regards in saving money. I love NASCAR but enough is enough. That last place finisher at daytona made more in that 380 mile race than I have in my entire lifetime but Nascar needs to save money? So my question is do you think this sport will grow or diminish into a big soap opera and do you think nascar really needs to save money with all these ridiculous rules?
  • 43rd spot for 36 races is 3.5 mill. I think.

Edit<--> I don't think $250,000 is a lot ! That will not pay the bills for 1 week.
  • I don't even know where to begin with this one. Nascar purses are in no way out of line with other major sports. The purses reflect what the market will support. Nascar is immensely popular and thus brings in huge revenues and thus the payouts are large. Even though, yes last place at Daytona is what I make in many hard years, that's just the way it is. The only thing you can do about is to not watch. Don't buy tickets and don't give them your TV viewership. . As far as cost cutting for the teams, thats a whole different discussion. Nascar has to, like all racing bodies including F1 right now, make racing affordable for the teams. Otherwise, spending would spiral out of control.

You don't know much about business or simple supply and demand principles if you think athletes are overpaid. Everyone makes what they're worth, period. The fans or lack thereof and what they're willing to spend in attention and money determines revenues which in turn determines what these athletes are "worth". I don't understand your complaint.
  • Its not nascar that needs to save money its the teams that do. yeah $250,000 is alot of money but that's Owner's take there share then the Drivers. then the crew all the guys at the shops and ever week teams have to pay a fee for entering races and it ain't cheap traveling back and fourth to tracks then back to the shop building race cars paying for gas and food when u travel. So after taking all the money out for that i bet there isn't alot left really. but like i said its not nascar saying they need to save money there saying the teams need to.
  • As of the end of last season, the cost of a race week end, bringing two cars to the track was $168,000.. Plus the driver.. That doesn't include damage to the car...
NASCAR itself is far from broke, as it has little more than salaries to maintain..
The sanctioning body (NASCAR), provides assistance to teams in need by helping to find sponsors, investors, and kicking in to help teams keep going when needed, very often acting as an agent, or broker for teams that are struggling to find cash..
Edit: A set of tires cost over $1,600, and fuel is four times what you pay..
As far as "overpaid" when it comes to racing, the athletes in this particular sport, don't always get to go home after the race.. So as far as I'm concerned none could be guilty of that offense..
  • Jr rocks what are you saying ?????
  • What about baseball players that ride the bench all season and make an average of over 2 million bucks!!! At least a guy finishing last in "Super Bowl" of NASCAR was "out there" and made the race!

I figured I was wasting breath with you..........you are obviously just another troll hating in here. Why do you come in here anyway?? Clueless, you are truly clueless

Real NASCAR fans.................Another troll to ignore.abbotsford chamber
  • Would you pay $27,000 to watch a race on your laptop?

    May be...

  • Great answer Old Fart I know what you mean.
  • ....man that dude was a few fries short of a Happy Meal.I love my racing but a 500 mile race on a 1.5 mile track is about 334 laps so thats like 80 bucks a lap! And to watch the Bears on a lap top ?Stupid !
But the Bears did win , just wonder how his life is now and how many more curises will he have to take his wife on to "pay off the Bill"?
  • hell no i love racing but i would not pay $27,000 to watch a race on my laptop
  • never!
  • ah no
  • You make it sound like he chose to do that on purpose. Your posting is a waste of space.
  • I don't even make that much a year before taxes.
  • NO I would not...LOL EVER> I wouldn't pay that much to GO to a race...uless of course I got to be up close in a car...meet all the drivers and then get to take one of my choice home with me...then I would think about it.
  • NO !! That's more than i make a year ! LOL
  • No but I would if I had the money to crap.
  • That is great...ROFL!!! You know what I thought was even funnier he got charged that to watch the Bears vs. Lions....helloo the worst team in the NFL can you say 0-16. I could have told him the Bears would win.

Oh and yes, I am a tru Honolulu Blue Lions fan. Go ahead and laugh...everyone I know does. When I support a team as you can see, I support them 100%.
  • He derserves to get bent over for being a Bear's fan LOL Go VIKES!!!
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • Wow thats crazy ! I pay 69 dollars a year for track pass but thats my limit !
  • I'd Make like 10 trips state side to see them live. LMAO
  • No. I can watch it free on Fox. People who do this have more money than common sense.
  • And they say that NASCAR fans are ignorant "rednecks"..........check out this story......................OMG!!! ROFLMAO!!!!!

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdow...

    Have a great day!!
  • Nope no sport is worth spending that much money.
  • I wouldn't turn my TV on to watch a race. Does nothing for me.
  • No, with $27,000 I can actually see a couple NASCAR races at the track itself...low battery warning
  • When will........................

    May be...

  • Hopefully this sunday. Kyle brings so much excitment to a sport that is getting kinda boring. Tony brought so much fun to racing, but he seems to have toned it down lately. I love the way Kyle bows to the crowd like he doesn't care what they think.
  • i think he will have a good season and pick off where he left off before the chase
  • I'm betting its this weekend at Vegas.
  • This sunday !!
  • kyle busch get his first 09 win in the sprint cup series
  • March 8th/ Atlanta.
  • Probably in Atlanta.
  • Don't know, my guess would be Martinsville. I'd be willing to bet he'll make the chase this year. GO SMOKE!
  • This weekend at Vegas.
  • he better this Sunday. LOL
  • This weekend.
    If he can beat David.
  • I think he'll repeat at Atlanta.

    Just an opinion as always.
  • Kyle Busch will get his at Atlanta
Jr will get his at the Coke Zero 400 in July
Carl Edwards will get his this weekend at Vegas
  • That boy's fuse is lit. He could explode at any time. I'm not a fan of Kyle's but have to admit he's as talented a driver as there ever was. Go Jr!!! Peace y'all
  • I think he will get a win at least 5 times but the first will be at Atlanta. I don't really know why but i think he will pull it off
  • He has a shot at Vegas, or Hotlanta...
It will be at a race with lots of cautions..
  • possibly this weekend. if not it shouldnt be to much longer.best time of year for cruises

    NASCAR Nation..............?

    May be...

  • <-------------------- That guy

He is just good down to earth people!!
  • I think it would be cool to have dinner with Mark Martin or Jeff Burton. They are two of the best drivers in our sport and are very classy.
  • I'd love to invite some of those skinny guys to dinner. Logano, Kahne, and Kyle Busch could all benefit from Lynn's lasagna. It's the best, if I do say so myself. : )
I'll even resist the temptation to put Ex-Lax in Kyle's serving. lol j/k
  • I really can't see any appeal in having dinner with any of them. They probably would be annoyed by having to be there and answering all my lame questions. I'm pretty content to watch them do what they do best, race. If there were some cute female drivers, I might feel differently. ;)
  • I would love to go to dinner with Kurt Busch or Kevin & Delana Harvick. Kurt's really did a 360 degree turn in his attitude and demeanor. He has gotten "down to earth" to me anyways. Others may disagree and that's ok with me.

The reason for Kevin & Delana is that they are hilarious together. When that TV show "Nascar 360" was on and they followed them it was way funny.
  • Sadler, but I would probably choke on my food. I'm shy enough as it is. I would be absolutely tongue-tied in the presence of my favorite driver. I wouldn't be able to relax and enjoy the meal.
  • tony stewart because he is my favorite and he'd like our cooking cause we cook a lot
  • Probably Bobby Labonte or Kevin Harvick because they are our favorites.

If you do the five minute jobs now, you save yourself a twenty minute job in the future.
  • Martin Truex Jr. cause we're from the same part of the world and he could hook my nephew up with all that neat gear from Bass Pro Shops.
  • None other than Dale Jr. He has a sense of humor, manners, and tells the truth. Not only is he my favorite driver, but he's also down to earth. Someone you could sit down with and have a conversation without feeling out of place and laugh with. Junior is definitely a people person.
  • Reed Sorenson......He is my favorite driver and I would love to get to know him better.....What better way then at dinner.
  • Kenny Wallace
it wouldn't be a dull dinner!!!
  • Junior of course. Because he is my favorite and I would love to have a chance to sit and chat with the guy, crack a few cold ones. He's a funny guy so I imagine a lot of laughing and goofing around which is exactly what I like to do.

Old Fart ----- I am loving your quotes, keep 'em coming. Funny, funny stuff.
  • Kyle Petty because i feel sorry for him
  • Well if I had a choice, and didn't choose Jr my family would string me up by some very sensitive parts...
If it was Jr, I'd have to hire a hall, because my family would start to include people I don't even remember...
  • Question What driver in NASCAR would you love to have dinner with you and your family ?
    And why ?

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably a wise investment.
  • any one of them will do as long as they're paying !!!!!!!!!!
  • Matt and Katie Kenseth, very polite and respectful and love NASCAR like we do.
  • Jeff Gordon
  • Elliott Sadler, he's da man!

I love your quotes but I don't get this one. Can you ellaborate for us simpletons?
  • Probably Mark Martin, he seems nicelaugardia airport
  • If you could change your favorite drivers sponsor/paint scheme, would you?

    May be...

  • I would like to see Mark Martin change to something else, but I don't know what. That would be the hard part if I was someone working on sponsorships.
  • I don't think so.
The M&M's sponsor is perfect for him. He's very animated just like his car.
(lol) @ NASCAR trying to make him some dark villain last season though with a bright yellow car with cartoon candy on it.
  • No i like Tonys new look!!
  • I actually like the AMP car. It doesn't look typically Hendrick and I like that.

I was first devastated about Bobby Labonte in the Ask.com 96, but now I love the car and Ask.com seems to be a pretty good sponsor.

I just wish they would answer the stinkin questions during the race instead of making us look up the answer. I don't have a computer at home, so I never get the answers!
  • I don't think Mark would give up his car to an idiot
  • no I would not like to see a change, killer bees have to be black and dewalt yellow!
  • The Amp and Nat'l Guard are ok, but I'l like to see Jr in the Mt Dew car permanantly.
  • i like dale jr and no i wouldnt change his paint themes i like both the amp and national gaurd
  • Jimmie has only ever driven the Lowe's Chevrolet and it's hard to imagine him in anything else but I would love it if the 48's sponsor was Miller Lite. I'm from Wisconsin and they're from Wisconsin. I support their product regularly during races and the blue deuce looks pretty cool. It would look even better as a Chevy and in victory lane frequently. That would rule!!!
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • I don't mind having Kellogg's as a sponsor, but I would change that dominant bright yellow to red and maybe vice versa
  • im a Kasey Kahne fan i would like to see him run a bud Light and bud Light Lime paint scheme.
  • I am with you on not liking the AMP car Lenny. It's not that I hate it, I just think it's kinda boring I like bright and flashy cars. If it was my choice Junior would be back in the fire engine red Budweiser car. That car was bad or even Gordon's car I am just lovin his new paint scheme the flames are very cool and that front bumper is nice & looking threw the rearview mirror there is no mistaking Jeffie is a comin!
  • Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s AMP car is SWEET!!! I would not like Kasey Kahne to change his paint scheme! I love that he is the budweiser car and i love the red and white!!!

    GO KASEY KAHNE!!
  • No I would leave the #24 alone .I like the new paint job and DUPONT is a great sponsor.
  • I'd like to see Mark Martin have the tiger stripes on his Kellogg's car like Terry Labonte had in 2003.
  • I would put Kevin back into the GM Goodwrench car. That car looked great and Kevin looked great in black, grey and red. I miss that car.....
  • And if so; who's would you want????????

I would like to see Dale Jr swap with Mark Martin...........I just think the AMP car is hideous!!
  • I dont think I would change a thing on the blue deuce except to quit using those blue wheels.

    Add: Chrome Wheels Rule!
  • No, I think Jeff Gordon's car is great. Red and Black flames work perfectly. And Dupont is a great sponsor.

However, I wouldn't mind seeing Jeff drive a different National Guard paint scheme like this one: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/172/39421...
  • No,I like David Reutimann's paint scheme.funny gifs
  • Inmate Claims NASCAR Caused Him to Commit Crimes?

    May be...

  • Sounds like that guy needs a psychiatrist instead of a lawyer ! But the Dupont car has caused me to spend thousands of dollars on Diecast cars,Shirts,Jackets ,posters ,and a whole lot of stuff !
  • It used to be music everyone would use as a crutch to avoid taking personal responsibility. NASCAR: societies newest whipping boy?
    How sad and pathetic.
  • LMAO!!!they always blame NASCAR
  • I didn't see this, but find it incredible. I wonder how Jeff Gordon's car poisoned him.

    Thanks for sharing.
  • I guess that's why I never get anywhere I just keep going around and around and around LOL. I wonder if they make this guy wear a helmet?
  • L M A O

    What a load of garbage...!!!!
They should place him somewhere for crazy people!!!
  • No movie, no video game, no sport is ever responsible for the behaviors of people.
  • Sounds legit to me
  • Did anyone see this??
    http://nashvillecitypaper.com/news.php?v...

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is probably not for you.
  • LOL!

He must be bored in prison. Let's hope there's no judges out there as deluded as he is.
  • Jeff Gordons car "poisoned me with Dupont chemicals"

Sounds to me like he's paranoid and delusional. I'd be willing to bet that his legal problems evolved from an extensive meth habit, and not from being a NASCAR fan.
  • LOL, this guy is totally whacked! I work in subsidized housing for senior and disabled people, mostly mentally disabled. I hear this kind of thing all the time. Nothing surprises me at this point.
  • Yeah...................righhhhhhhht.
  • LOL, yeah and the nieghbor's black lab told the Son of Sam to kill all those people. A lot of people do not want to be accountable for their own shortcomings and find somebody or something else to blame. Like the lady the sued McDonald's for spilling hot coffee on herself. It certainly wasn't HER fault or the people that blame them for getting fat.
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • Another great example of people not taking responsibilty for their own actions.

I reeeeeeely hope no judge takes him seriously.
  • everybody want s to blame something else for their problems
al they have to do is liook in a mirror and then thye will see whom to blame
  • That's great anything for a buck huh? Now in his defense since I am an avid NASCAR fan-addict I can understand the need for speed. I do find myself taking corners pretty fast and pretending I am taking the high line and merging onto the freeway well, that to me is like the race off Pit Road and I am going to win.

Hmmm that reminds me, I haven't tried bump-drafting yet ;)

I hope when he loses his lawsuit they take away his TV so he can't watch NASCAR anymore I sure would hate to see him drop his window net and try to crawl out of his cell. Idiot.

Thanks for that Old Fart.must have xbox games
  • How can I watch nascar live for free on my computer?

    May be...

  • Go to http://satellite-tv-softwares.blogspot.c... Get satellite tv software for your computer, with it you can watch nascar,NBA,NHL,tennis games and many other tv channels live for free on your computer.
  • You can't. The races are only televised.
  • Without having some sort of TV to Computer device (such as a Slingbox), the closest thing you will get is NASCAR Trackpass with Raceview through NASCAR.com. It uses GPS transponders on the cars to create digital images of their position on the track and displays a model of that on the screen. This allows you to follow a particular drivers position on the speedway. It can be jerky at times, but this is the closest you will be able to get. Keep in mind, it costs $12.95/month or $79.95/year.fit a tow bar

  • no its not
  • No, they haven't started building them yet. There will be 3 tracks. They won't be done until 2011 or later. Most of the land is swamp land right now.
  • Every track is Jr.'s track. LOL
  • This is his track

Why is Ralph Earnhardt in jayskis top 50 best nascar drivers?

    May be...

  • http://www.jayski.com/pages/50best.htm he never even made it into the top 50 in the point standings
  • Which one there's 3 Ralph Earnhardts(2 of them just decided to use their middle name Dale). No seriously though Ralph was one of the best dirt track drivers of his time and wasn't too shabby on asphalt either. 1956 Sportsman(now Nationwide Series) Division Champion, 2 time track champion Greenville-Pickens Speedway. BTW the Earnhardts are the only drivers to win series championships in 3 generations.
  • You have a #3 avatar for Dale Sr. and you don't know the answer to your own question? Pathetic!
  • He won races before Nascar ever came about. He was a good driver, but they probably overrate him like Junior. I dont know why he is in the top 50 NASCAR drivers, but he could be in just drivers related to Nascar.pda registry
  • Nascar Nation, what's you favorite Zeppelin song?

I don't know anyone who doesn't recognize that rif. It's been used in several commercial spots, and has even featured in a few TV shows.

    Link to video below.

I'm pretty sure its a chop from the "Song Remains the Same" movie.

  • 23.2.09

Hmmm why is earnhardt jr overated.....?

    May be...

  • He is greatly overrated. He makes far too many bone headed mistakes for a driver with his experience. When he makes a mistake in the pits or something frustrates him, he drives way over his head and ends up taking other cars out. It's all about Jr. I'm sure he's the "most popular" driver(big hairy deal), but he is not even in the top 10 best drivers... Trust me.... Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, J. Johnson, Harvick, Biffle , Kenseth, Edwards, etc..... are far better drivers than he his.
He's under the gun now because if he can't win with Hendrick, he just can't win.
  • this has been going on since dale sr. died.
    look
think what you want.Dale Jr. has talent, and thats why people like him.
  • He's not overrated at all. He's rated where he finishes every season. Last year he was rated 12. The year before 14th, Right now 35th. Maybe by the end of the year he'll be rated 1st or 9th. Gosh I hate that word and it makes no sense. He's rated where he freakin finishes.

I do have to hand it to him, Fox and DW yesterday though. They earned an Academy award for their coincidentally and pefectly timed "Cry me a river" screen play. lol
  • Sadly because so many people expect him to be just like his dad, and drive just like his dad. The public has given him mighty big shoes to fill. He just wants to be his own man, judged on his own merits. He started out working in the garage doing oil changes at his dad's car dealership. He and his brother bought a kart to race and made enough to buy a car to race, and moved up from there. Give him credit for what he does, not what everybody thinks he should do!

    *SHOQ*
  • Some NASCAR fans have always expected that Dale, Jr. would be "like his Dad". Dale, Jr. never was and never will be the driver his Dad was. There are many more drivers in all ranks of NASCAR that have not lived up to the fans' potential. Does that make them overrated?
  • Because his "popularity doesn't line up with his results"
  • Jr.'s a great guy, a good driver, and entertaining. Is he the best driver? NO. Not even in the top 5 as far as I'm concerned. Now for likability, he's COOL! And I think with the drivers and power at HMS he's going to get better, but right now...he's got to be in 7-10th for "best drivers" and even that's up for debate.
  • I was at the Daytona 500 with my sister. I saw an older guy there. He had on a long sleeve denim shirt that was embroidered over the left pocket with a green #18 Interstate Battery, and a white #96 Ask.com ball cap. I nudged my sister and pointed at him and said, "Now that's a fan any driver would want."
Also, during the 500, at the end of my row, was a woman who, EVERY time the cars came out turn two and headed down the back stretch, screamed "GO KYLE! GO! GO! GO KYLE GO" above the crowd and the engine noise. She never missed a lap. Not once. Not ever. And didn't lose her voice. It was only after Kyle wrecked that she was quiet.
As Winter Glory stated, it doesn't matter what other people think. By the numbers, Jr isn't the best driver. That didn't stop me from yelling and screaming when Tony pushed him to the lead in the 500. By the numbers, Kyle isn't the most popular driver. That didn't stop Miss "GO KYLE" from stressing her vocal chords at the Daytona 500.
People say a lot of things that don't mean diddly. Does it matter how Jr "got" where he is? Nope. He is a Sprint Cup driver and he has a huge fan base. Nothing can change that. I like Jr for a lot of reasons and most of them do not include his heritage, his wins, or his championships. (that last one is obvious!)
I just hope that all of todays Jr and Kyle fans are like the Bobby Labonte fan I saw at Daytona. True fans, through the good times and the bad.
  • i don't think hes overrated either Dale Jr is my fav. nascar driver it used 2 be Dale Jr and Dale Sr...(rip Dale SR)
  • I agree with Fedup 100%

    Hit the nail..
Sorry guys, but he's speaking the truth.. come up with ANY other excuses.. he will still be what Fedup says he is... overrated...

EDIT: Forget his past, stop comparing him to other drivers.. ALL Nascar drivers are good drivers, at least better than all of us normal drivers... he's still overrated.. simple, obvious, evidently, clearly.. THE TRUTH..... THAT'S ALL, Jr. fans.. thats all.. just calm down.. can't you accept that... he gets more attention than he deserves.. had it not been for his father, Jr. would've been nothing.. nothing!!! That's why he is overrated..

T-bone, I think you have the wrong definition...

Hey, I'm not bashing, ranting, hating... I'm only giving my opinion, my view, and stating the facts...
  • he is a great driver and when he is in a slump he the haters out there talk smack
  • Man I went to the october race at Talladega 2001, 2002, 2003! I tell ya, %85 of the stands were RED. Its kind of hard to see it on tv. But even in his second year on the circuit, Jr. had almost all of the fans!
  • because of his dad
  • Why does it matter what other people think?
My driver gets bashed on, too.
At least with yours you get to take comfort in knowing you've got strength in numbers. Someone attacks Jr. 20 Jr. fans come to his defense.
Someone attacks Kyle, we've got a big what? 4 or 5 of us?
It's not a big deal. People think he's overrated? So what?
  • I am so sick and tired of hearing Jr this Jr that well if everyone that thinks he is would foucs on their driver and leave Jr alone we wouldn't have to worry about it then would we? People are jealous cause he's popular, and because of his last name. Well GET OVER IT JR HATERS he didn't ask for it, it just happened and believe it or not he cares alot (probably) to damn much about what his fans and others think. then we always hear...he's not his dad...WELL GET A CLUE HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE...and besides when he does act like his dad a little then the haters have to start their crying and say things like did you see what Jr did, or can you believe he was driving like that...WELL I'VE GOT NEWS FOR YOU ALL, IF IT HAD BEEN HIS DAD OR KYLE BUSCH OR TONY STEWART THEN NO ONE WOULD OF THOUGHT TWICE ABOUT IT. No matter what Jr does, the bashers and haters have to dog on Jr, that's all they've got to do.I guess. I still say let them worry about their driver as much as they do Jr and all would be alright. So I don't think Jr is overrated, his popularity is just the way the cards were dealt. People don't give him enough credit. They also don't have any idea what they are talking about when they say it was handed to him on a silver platter cause Sr made him work for anything Jr got. That's just something they'd have to think about, and it takes to much energy. The bashing comes easier. BTW I agree with your last statement and now I'll quit my ranting.
  • Dale Earnhardt never made it easy for any of his kids..
He sent Jr to military school.. Kelly volunteered to go along to keep
him from getting his butt kicked..
Kerry, and Jr wanted to race.. Dale gave them a junked Monte Carlo
to share.. They turned it into a race car (their money), but they had
a problem.. Kerry crashed the car on his week end, and they fixed
the car on Jr's week end (Kerry still crashes)..
Jr got his own car, and ran his own team.. Dale always thought that
Kelly should be the racers, she was better than Jr.. She went to school instead..
When Jr got pretty good, he got try outs (it isn't a bad thing for a race driver to be Dale Earnhardt's son, Kerry got them too)..
He went on from there.. At the time Dale had stopped driving Busch..
He had his own 3 car (DEI), and put one good driver after another in
the car trying to replace himself, and nothing worked, they never did the ride justice.. In 97 he tried Jr, and he passed the "test"..
The next season, Jr won the title, and the year after as well..
In 2001 DEI started as a Cup team built around the driver that gave him two Busch titles in a row.. Ask, Boyer, Burton, Kenseth, Edwards, or Kyle Busch how hard that is to do..
  • fedup, Harvick's better than Jr? He's got 12 wins since 2002, and hasn't won a points race in 2 yrs(if non-points races don't count for Jr, they don't count for anyone else either). And remember this from 2001-2003 Kevin was basically driving repainted #3 cars. Aside from the 2003 Championship Jr and Kenseth have very similar numbers(Matt finally caught up in the win column this year). The same with Kurt Busch. I'm not saying Jr's the best driver out there, but he's not the terrible driver that haters make him out to be.
  • i dont beleive he is but people say he wouldnt have gotten in without his dad but if that was so wrong we wouldnt have richard petty or dale earnhardt sr the 2 greatest NASCAR drivers...so why is he overatedstar wars galaxies trial key
  • Why does nascar line up with 43 cars and not 42 or 44?

    May be...

  • Well if it were 42 you'd be asking why not 41 or 43
  • They figured that was the MAXIMUM # of cars they could cram onto the smaller tracks and pit stalls.

and for the sake of continuity
that became the limit for all tracks.

"In the past field size was based on the size of the tracks. At one time there was over 50 drivers running at tracks like Daytona and as little as 28 running at tracks like Hickory. However, when the modern era came about and the Money got better with Winston as the series sponsor NASCAR and the drivers settled on 42 drivers for the field, as most tracks would accomodiate that many pit stalls.

Again, keep in mind NASCAR used to have up to 60 cars trying to make the field and if you could get in then you could make money.

In 1989, the King Richard Petty, failed to qualify for a Race, So 3 time Champion Darrell Waltrip, who has been know to shoot his mouth off, told a national audience that it was a shame someone with the Kings status should miss a race. So Darrell proposed a "Past Champions" provisional that would allow any previous champion to be placed in the 43rd starting spot.
Well in 1998, I believe, NASCAR decided to make the 43rd spot perminate. So if a past champions provisional was not used then the 43rd spot would be fielded by the next highest qualifier."

    http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_do_43_cars...
  • It's all here.

    http://www.nascar.com/2002/news/headline...
  • because every track has only 43 pit stalls in the pits.
  • It has varied a great deal over the years..
At the beginning they put everyone that showed up, on the track..
By the seventies they had it down to thirty cars for a short track
(under a mile), and forty two for speedways, and super speedways..
I believe the forty third spot (past Champions provisional) was added
in the eighties, as well as the rest of the forty three on short tracks..washington post mini page
  • Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin - will they ever regain their early success?

    May be...

  • I don't see how you can call them "has beens"! They are all still racing, doing better than a lot of drivers out there. They all have rides with contracts to keep them going. What is has been about that? They are all doing just fine. Did you see the race yesterday?

    *SHOQ*
  • Bias alert, but I know Denny will gain back his early success. He's been hit with some crummy luck, but I think he's finally gaining focus and will be on the prowl. Kurt Busch is a great driver but, like others pointed out, should probably seek a better team. I like Ryan but I honestly don't know about him so I won't say anything. I would not call any of these drivers "has beens" though. They're all awesome in their own right.
  • Hamlin has a good owner and that will help him a lot.

Newman is with a new owner and team; so I doubt he'll do anything any time soon.

Busch is an odd one I believe he can win some races, but I don't think he'll win a cup again.
  • i think hamlin has the best chance at it because he's the youngest with the best equiptment.

kurt busch might have a chance yet, depending on how serious penske gets with his nascar program.

newman might get a good shot in the arm once stewart-haas really gets going, but i'm not really sure.
  • i dont think newman or hamlin will win a championship.kurt will win races but not another cup though.
  • Kurt Busch will have to move to another, better team if he wants to recapture his success; he's not going to do it with Penske. I don't know about Hamlin. I know he's with a better team than the others and has made the Chase, but he just doesn't seem focused or something. He probably has the best chance of coming back of the three. Ryan Newman--I hope he improves because I like him, but he's with an unproven team.
  • All of these guys started their careers off great but seem to have really fallen off lately.

Denny Hamlin finished 3rd in points in his ROOKIE season, yet finished last in the chase the past two years

Kurt Busch won the 2004 championship, yet finished 18th in points in 08

Ryan Newman had 8 wins and 11 poles in 2003, yet has only 1 win in the past 3 seasons.

Will any of these guys come back or are they all "has beens"
  • For Denny Hamlin and Ryan Newman I don't think and I certainly don't hope they are "has beens". So sorry but I can't say the same for Busch, what I can say is "Go Home"! I'm sick of those Busch boys!
  • Denny has never missed the chase in his 3 full seasons. The fact that he has had some bad racing luck during those last 10 races the last couple of years says nothing about his driving ability. He has had the dominant car in quite a few races the last 2 years only to cut a tire or have some sort of mechanical issue. This kid is every bit as talented as Kyle and might win his first cup championship before him. Kurt needs to get out of those Dodges if he wants a chance to win another championship. Ryan Newman should be better now that he is in a Chevy but we will have to see. He is the one that I don't feel as good about, ability wise, out of the 3.
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • They ain't "has-beens" but I think each (possible exception of Hamlin who may get more) are going to get at most 10 more wins before retiring. I HOPE not, but that's what I feel.
  • Hamlin...no. Without Tony to mentor him, he'll be driving in the Nationwide series in the next couple of years.
Busch...no. A has been for the one championship he had, hope he enjoyed it.
Newman...PLEASE! Don't get me started on him winning the rookie of the year award over Johnson in 2003. I guess we see who really is the better driver now.
These guys are done. Newman and Busch will probably ride on their names for several more seasons, but I wouldn't be surprised if Denny didn't see the finish line first again.forum livery
  • Why is the daytona 500 more popular than other nascar races in different cities throughout the year?

    May be...

  • It was basically where Nascar had its formal beginning. For the reason, it's traditionally the most important to the drivers. Plus, it's always very good, exciting racing.
  • The first race after three loonnnngggg months.
  • well it is the beginning of the racing season and it is termed "the great american race" and i was sooo happy that i was able to go to the daytona 500 this year and i the company suites and i was hanging out talking to racers like kasey khane and richard petty and aj allmendiger!!! and i got to go in the garage and pits and sitting on the track during the keith urban concert it was great (even though i have been going to daytona for like ever i just never went to the daytona 500
  • Because its the first race of the season.
  • I think it stems back to the history of that area and it's long relationship with racing. It all started with the straight line racing on the beach itself and the attempts at breaking the existing land speed record for an automobile. Once they figured out that the salt flats were better suited for that they made a circular track on the beach and stock car racing as we know it today was born. It was basically brought about by business owners in the area wanting to attract crowds of people to buy their goods and services and the race promoters wanting to make people pay to watch. In a nutshell, it's where NASCAR began and has always been an almost sacred place for racing. It wasn't always the first one of the year but it has been the biggest race since the inaugural running of the 500 at Daytona International Speedway in 1959.
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • i tbegins the season, there are a select few that have wont his race and people are dying to hear the gentlemen start their engines
  • It starts the season. For all NASCAR junkies like me who have been in withdrawal since November, it is our fix. It is also fast and is termed the Great American Race.
  • It is considered the biggest race. As DW said, your career is not complete without a win in the "Great American Race." It has the richest price purse each year in NASCAR.

The Daytona 500 was first on a highbanked 2.5 mile superspeedway. Even though Darlington was in use, Daytona was the fastest in NASCAR.

About fifteen years ago, NASCAR had their four majors - The Daytona 500-the richest, The World 600-the longest, The Winston 500 (at Dega)-the fastest and the Southern 500-the oldest.

But things have changed and the Daytona 500 is still the biggest race in NASCAR.
  • It's the Superbowl of auto racing.
  • Up until the late 70s or so Riverside California was the first race of the year, fans looked forward to the warm California sunshine to start off every season. i think the France family's ownership interest might have had something to do with switching the opening race to daytona. Anyone else know for sure?
Ricky Rudd won his first race at the season opener in 1983 at Riverside, driving #3 for Richard Childress.

  • Did you see the interview that DW did with Dale Jr before the race?

    May be...

  • i saw that Interview. he told it like was, and was honest the whole time. i hope to see more like that in the future.
  • I enjoyed watching the interview. That was the real Dale Jr. He is a very open person.
  • Very glad that both Jr. and Vickers owned up for what they did.
  • i agree with jr 100% and i think it was fault on both of the drivers and whats in the past is in the past you really cant do anything about it now but when the next daytona race comes later in the year this will be the talk of the nation again
  • Yes I saw the interview yesterday, this is why I like Junior so much. He is a honest and proud person.

ANd he put it out there on the line yesterday. I thought it was a bit funny, but he also manned up to just plain missing the stop on the first pit. Kinda peek my curiosity who he was speaking of when he made the comment of he felt sorry for 80% of who got wrecked and 20% he really didn't care. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Junior told it like it was. I would like to see one person on here who doesn't particularly care for Junior and just live one week in his shoes.
See what this man has to go through day in and day out. He is under alot of pressure and I think he has handled it pretty darn good so far.
I don't ever want Junior to be like his dad, that is not why I like him, I like him for him, he is a down to earth well respected young man. ANd 95% of the time he respects the drivers when he is racing, every now and again he will have a moment that he messes up, but he always, ALWAYS, mans up to it. (Even if it takes a week)

Junior is and will always be my #1 driver.
    Junior will shine in 09.
(It has only been 2 races and he needs to get those mulligans out of the way now)
  • Here is how I feel. I love NASCAR, but I feel there are other people who could replace him. He knows he will never be nothing like his daddy and I wouldn't either if I was him. Dale Sr. got most of his wins by wrecking people anyways. The older people that likes Jr. is because of his name.. The younger people that don't know anything about racing started liking him because of Budweiser when he was driving the #8. I don't hate him. I just don't think he is a good driver. There are better drivers in this world who does not even have an opportunity because of Jr. out there just because of his name. I would bet money on this. If it wasn't for his daddy, he would not even be in the Busch series. I do love his attitude though. I think he has the coolest personality out there.

But anyways.. my point being. GO JEFF GORDON. THE DRIVE FOR FIVE IS ON, BABY!!!
  • Ok, I'll give you this. I'm glad he manned up about the incident and took most of the blame because BLOCKING is racing, but so is RETALIATION... That is just part of the sport, and I love it.. Atleast he was trying to be honest tho

I have this to add though about that interview.. IT WAS RIDICULOUS.. That whole thing wouldn't have been done for ANY other driver if it wasn't Dale Jr. They explode and exploit every little thing that happens in that mans life... I mean if that was almost anyone else it wouldn't have been talked about by many after the race, OR a full frickin' interview dedicated to it. I almost changed the channel during one of the "Sprinkling Cautions" because they started to show parts of it again. NASCAR needs to get off his... well, you know..
  • Yes I did I thought it was great. He is honest. Yes, he is under the microscope more than any driver out there, he is damned if he does and damned if he don't. I would change my last name. He doesn't like being compared to his dad, and people keep doing it, he is his own man, he drives cause he loves it. I hope by the time he retires he has over 30 wins and a champioship. Yes, he is a great person, and a very honest person. I could tell the interview was alittle uncomfortable, but yes maybe some of his haters saw that interview and finally realize he is a great person, honest driver, respectable driver. Its racing and wrecks and accidents are gonna happen, and he is not immune to causing them or being in them, its racing.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I've always known that about Jr. He's always been under such enormous pressure to perform, to live up to an impossible legacy. He's doing what he loves, and I wish his fans would just stop pushing him so hard.

I'm not a Jr fan, nor am I a 'Jr Hater', and I don't think you have to be either/or.
  • I heard it once say, "I am the best driver out there".
  • Racheal, you could'nt be more wrong, I've been a NASCAR fan since the early 90's, I was not much of a Dale Sr, fan, and I think Budweiser's piss so that rules both of your theories out. Dale Sr was not the type to hand anything to anyone, not even his kids. Jr bought his first race car a 79 Monte Carlo late-model, with money he earned doing oil changes at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet, Sr helped him set it up but after that it was you race it you fix it. Not only that he had to share the car with his brother and sister as well. Jr paid his dues running at places like Hickory and Myrtle Beach. By the time he started running what's now the Nationwide Series, he was living in a mobile home with Kerry. Now that I'm on that, Jr only ran 2 full seasons in NNS, and won the title in both of them and has 22 wins there, hardly lucky to get a ride. Coming from a Gordon fan, this is kinda odd since it was Dale Sr who recommended that Rick Hendrick hire Jeff in the first place. I mean how good would've Jeff been if he'd been at Bill Davis Racing(or was it Wood Bros, I forget) all these years.
  • Would Tony Stewart or Kurt Busch called to apologize for what happened like Dale did? Yeah, right. Just goes to show you that Junior really is a man. Hopefully he can win a few races this year.
  • Yes i did see it. He said it like a real honest MAN . He will never be like his dad but who could be.
  • I only dislike him because he's my mom's favorite so we have a friendly rivalry. I don't think there's anything wrong with him as a person, however, I think Nascar treats him differently than other drivers and that's not fair. I also think a small number of his fans are just awful. They can be rude and obnoxious, but that's not his fault.
  • Yes, I did see it & that is what us Junior fans have grown to love about the guy is his total honesty. He took the blame called Vickers to apologize and was ready for this week. I find it funny when DW told him he was driving a little aggressive like his dad and Junior said "What's wrong with that" I also did get a kick out of when he said he felt bad for about 80% of the guys he wrecked the other 20% he didn't even care if they were there or not. Wonder who he was talking about? I'm not going there just curious.

He's right though about his popularity as all of us Junior fans are aware of, and reminded of daily that is popularity doesn't reflect his success on the track. He is the most popular driver because of the man he has grown to be and what he stands for. Sr raised his boy well. True fans aren't fans just because of the checks in win column it stretches far beyond that. Junior is an honest stand up guy. Luv him!

    Gooooo Junior!
  • Yep I saw it and was impressed. I have never disliked Jr. as he was once my absolute favorite.
That being said I was glad that he did finally take responsibility for the Daytona wreck...not that it matters much but for some drivers and their fans who were hurt over it..(Yes I had hurt feelings) its like a healing balm. Now...I had to laugh...here I was defending him about the colored flags on how he chose pick or yellow whatever and so did everyone else and that is why he missed his stall at Daytona...and last night on the interview he said "Oh I wasn't paying attention I just used the colored flag thing as an excuse" and then he laughed and I had to laugh too. He can be funny.
So yeah...the man lives in his fathers shadow and that is a burden no one should have to bear. I do feel for him in that way.
  • All I--being a hardcore Gordon fan---have to say is that ...

.. to me it was a heated moment with Waltrip and Jr... it was like a conflict between them... referring to the way Waltrip talked of Jr.'s concentration and his main focus.. and him not having it.. and how Jr. came back with the statement.. it was like he was kinda angry.. but they laughed it off (Waltrip did).. and Jr. smiled..

    I dunno.. that's my view..

But, yeah I think he was TRYING to be honest.. not fully, but trying.. in my opinion..

But he can't simply blame himself... he's Dale Jr...the fans love him, so why blame him? (I'm not saying its entirely his fault.. but I will explain myself)

BUT you know what I think... I think this happened.. Jr. being who he is, being a driver who much is expected off.. to follow in his dad's footsteps.. to be good at restrictor plate tracks... to put down all the media's rumors of "when he was going to do something, win something.. a champioonship.. whether it was too late".. to win the 500.. he over did things at the race.. he.. gave 110% when all he had was 90%... He made mistakes.. he wanted to lead, get up front.. when all e shoild have done was calm down and have patience.. he wanted to do what was expected of him.. and he was not cautious.. and he made that big mistake..

And to make things worse.. it all came down harder at California..

    That's what I think..
  • I didn't see the whole interview just parts cause I had to work. But I know Jr. and he is honest and trustworthy. He tells it like it is no "pink air" there. That is why I love him so much.
  • I would agree also, He is VERY honest, and with that I give him the respect he deserves, for his honesty and integrity!
  • I thought it was very good and Dale Jr. was extremely honest. He said something in reference to his success not matching up to his popularity and he was right on the money. I think the HATERS need to take a step back (only the ones that are real NASCAR fans) and think about it. Can you imagine the pressure that he goes through every day being the son of one of the greatest drivers ever? He races because he loves it and I have even more respect for him that he has won 18 times in his career under that microscope. I have never said that he is a GREAT driver and neither has he. He is however, a great person and that is all that matters in this life....................Your thoughts???
  • Yes!! I did see that. I just can't wait to see if ol DW can keep up with Jr. when he hangs out with him for that week, and see if Jr is loosing his focus. I hope DW can keep up!
  • completey agree
it just proves haters wrong he always takes responsibility for his action
  • yes
  • He always looks at the ground and not at the camera or the interviewer. Mom always said that was sign of a guilty conscience, so I feel sorry for him. Seems he feels awfully ashamed of himself about something but won't admit what. (And no this is not a "Junior is gay" reference, I'm just saying he seems to be ashamed of something. Who knows what?
  • Yea... I actually gained some respect for JR.fulbright piano competition
  • Jimmie Johnson is starting to fade!!!?

    May be...

  • seriously? It's only been two races, there's a lot more left. They started off slow last year and they ended up winning the championship. Besides, he finished 9th, that's pretty good.
    .
  • I think you've given yourself too much credit.
  • I'm sorry I don't remember your questions. I can hardly remember your name.
  • you predicted kyle would fade after watkins glen? you should change your screen name to "the amazing kreskin" or better yet, "the kingmaker," as your powers are obviously not just observational, but causal if it was your statement that caused kyle busch to fade. so i guess it's you i should be blaming...
    ;-)
  • who remembers my question that i asked last year after Watkins Glen called ''Kyle Busch is starting to fade!''? Well, he ended up fading after i asked that and i think the same things happening for Jimmie. What do you think?
  • I don't think so. The last 10 races count. He might start off slow but when the last 10 races start, he'll dominate.
  • He doesn't have to do anything. If the Fords and Toyota's keep it up, just like last year. Nascar is looking to give chevy their choice of a blower or a twin turbo set up for the chase. So Jimmy already knows he doesn't have to do a thing, just ride laps out for 25 more races, and NASCAR will find a way to hand him another.
Chevy needs our help, help from the government and help from NASCAR... Always has always will. Thanks everyone for making Chevy's dream possible. They didn't call it the heartbeat of AMERICA back in the 90's for nothing.
Any time that NASCAR hands you a torque engine package with 10 races to go, and all 10 races are torque tracks, then it's a wash... Now they have their hands full to hand Jr. a championship, he couldn't out run a goldfish in a fish bowl...
  • He didnt start out very good last year, and look what happen. No Jimmie isnt fading. He will be just fine.
  • It would really break my heart.Boo Hoo, poor Jimmie.
  • Come on man; if you know anthing about NASCAR you know that it takes Johnson a while to warm up.................He'll be right there in the end.
  • You are so funny! And evidently clueless - I hope you are watching when Jimmie wins his 4th straight championship!
  • No, I don't think so. Daytona is a wild card race where anything can happen. Today, I agree the 48 could have been a better car but the team could not stay on top of the track changes like the 17 and 24. I think that it is an absolute possibility that the 48 team will see see the 4th championship in a row. If not, at least a top five finish on the season.
  • I think its only the 2nd race of the season and you're going to end up being very disappointed once the chase starts.
  • i think jimmie started coming around towards the end of the season. the first half of the season was dominated by Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards. then came towards the end of the season, sometime before the chase began, Jimmie started winning and shot up to the top.

i might be a little wrong with my statement, but that's how i remember it.
  • Not at all, ask this question at the end of the year. We've seen early season dominance that has meant nothing when the chase starts. Nobody has worked the new format better than the 48 team and those last 10 races definitely favor Jimmie. A solid top 10 run and one of the strongest cars at Fontana isn't exactly what I would consider "starting to fade". The first 2 races of the year probably won't factor into the big picture much unless Jimmie misses the chase altogether. Next week is Las Vegas, where Jimmie has won 3 of the last 4 races, and Atlanta has been one of the 48 team's best tracks.
    4's FINE N 09!!!
  • No.. Jimmie never starts a season on all eight...
Well, almost never.. lol What is up with people..
Racing has become more competitive than ever,
the teams are running closer than ever, but to not
win a couple of races doesn't mean your career is done..
Jeff Gordon is not done winning, neither is Jr.. Last November
Matt Kenseth was washed up, no wins in a couple of years,
and now look at him.. BTW, he just caught up to Jr in Cup wins..
  • its been two races and he had a top ten today geez chill out u cant judge a season on the first two races2003 desktop palm window
  • HMS cars having common problems?

    May be...

  • NO NO NO NO NO!!!!

    Hopefully, it DOES NOT continue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CAUSE GORDON'S DOING SOMETHING THATS MAKEING ME SO HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I LOVE IT!!!

I AM ABOUT TO CRY WITH SUCH A PERFORMANCE THAT HE WAS PUT UP TONIGHT..

    I AM ABOUT TO CRY!!!!

    OOOHHH!!!!! COME ON GORDON!!!!!!!!!!
  • Engines for the 5 & 88, trannys for the 48 & 88?

When we do good, we do good together, when we have problems....
  • well i believe being JR #.88 and Martin #5 was on the fuel mileage plan. Being they had slower practice speeds. They then leaned out there engines to much for the cooler than expected Temperatures and just burned the engines up. Jeff #24 and Jimmy # 48 was on the speed program being they had fast cars in both practices.. Also Stewart #14 and Newman did not have a engine problem.. also note the #5 and #88 share a building. So more than likely they shared info like engine tuning.
  • Well the 5 and 88 share the same shop and the 48 and 24 share the same shop. If the 5 and 88 both have engine problems and the 24 and 48 don't then that means Rick is using Dale and Mark to experiment with. The transmission sounds like a problem from the supplier.

Again that just proves that Jeff and Jimmie is getting the better equipment.
  • I have to say, when they waved the yellow for rain after they reported Mark's problem and he stayed out, I was hoping the skies would open up and provide the same elation that Matt Kenseth felt last week, solving everyones problems.

I really hope Rick Hendrick knows that Mark is NOT there to be an experimental driver for the 48 and 24. He is there to take one more shot at a championship. If Rick is not going to give him championship-caliber equipment, what the hell is Mark there for?
  • Yeah Martin is done and Junior is all but done.. I think the #48 will be fine
  • HMS didn't do a rain dance long enough, because the last gasp was for the skies to open up during the last caution. Someone at the shop is going to be working at the corner garage on Tuesday.
  • Weird. Honestly. I wonder what failing part is the common denominator. This is the way NASCAR used to be. Hehe. Good race though! Right Tom? j/k
  • As a longtime Blue Oval fan, I always love when Chevy teams have problems :^)
Way to go, Roush and Matt!
Keep on blowin' up, Hendrick cars! LOLhertz compact car
  • Wouldn't Fontana make a great parking lot?

    May be...

  • Yes, me 2. This is my nap race, lol.
  • If NASCAR would just cut the miles down on these races....then it wouldn't be like a one-mile race indoors; sit and kick.
  • That's exactly what it'd make! Alot better as a parking lot than a parade route. Dump Fontana!

    Just an opinion as always.
  • Parking lot, cow pasture, lake... Just as long as it's off the schedule.

    What a piece of crap.
  • Awesome race. Just like I thought. Motors facing attrition(spelling may be off..lol), pit strategy, fast, passing and the fastest guys are in front.
  • Shhhhh, you woke me up.. LOL
  • trust me, i just got back from there a while ago and it is a parking lot, and a very disorganized one in the middle of craphole of a city that you wouldn't want to get alive in too late at night, and wouldn't want to look at during the light of day. the race year was the best in a long time, but that's not saying a lot.
  • My boy is looking good so I don't mind it !
  • THen they should get rid of about 50% of the "cookie cutter" 1 1/2 mile tracks...there isn't any difference betwenn any of em.. Get rid of Atlanta then to... Just cause its on the east coast does'nt make it better than california.... Leave us west coast guys something PLEASE!!!
  • Yes.

This track along with Vegas, Chicago, Kansas, and Texas make for NAPCAR

They need to tear it down and build a short track in its place. Or better yet give Darlington their race back and give one to Iowa.
  • Most boring race of the year. I definately think that if they still are thinking about taking a race from one of the tracks it should be this one. Even though Roush does really good here.
  • Ok...I already took a short nap curled up in my recliner.
  • The realistic possibility is put Rockingham back and remove Fontana. We already have the sister track, and it's better.
  • I have to say I agree with you on this one.........Holy boring!
  • What a snooze fest...

I can't wait until Nascar the time Nascar drops this garbage.
  • Tell ya what if ya don't like it don't watch it. Go watch golf or something. I was there all weekend and had a good time. Gotta be there instead of sitting on your duff and complaining.
  • on e more here and its in the chase..
they should put Vegas in the chase
at least before and after we could gamble and some fun!!(my lucky brother)
  • I first read the big bold question, and thought to myself here's another troll bash, how do I phrase a sarcastic answer. But then I noticed the asker, so here goes.

I'm only half watching. I'm splitting my time watching Y!A for trolls and knocking them back under the bridge with cleverly worded replies. I know, I treading on dangerous ground, but it's the least I can do to protect our turf.

    Example below.

EDIT: Ok, Mark had to park it.

"Be vewwey, vewwey quiet, I'm hunting twolls!"
  • .....it is becoming a parking lot now " Junior,Mark Martin, Harvick....)
I think there was more action when the "Steel Mill" was there.
  • I'm enjoying it..
  • Get rid of Fontana n give The Rock a race and Darlington the other. There is absolutely no action at all in a race like this. These guys are spread out like crazy. I could probably go take a shower n not miss a dang thing.
  • I've almost dozed 3 times now.

I wish they'd replace it with Kentucky's track already.how to make a family tree chart
  •
