Why is Force India horrible?

May be...

  • They're doing better in 2009 than in 2008 in my opinion. They are still a young team. Minardi were always slow but F1 miss that team.
  • I don't tthink so. from 2003-2007(frm jordan-midland-spyker) the team remained nothing but an backmarker...with no one considering them...there always was an separate race going on between minardi & jordan...and rest of tne field lapping them...mostly jordan finished 2 laps behind the top teams.
In 2008 it became force india fRom spyker...and we saw the car, which was not developed from the start of 2006 season ...being turned into an car which can keep an ferrari on its back for 7 laps flat(remember monza, kimi 2008)..which was Not the case with spyker,midland...who used to find it difficult or rather couldn't even match the pace of a team like super aguri which was developed from scratch!...

in 2008 the gap decreased from 2sec(2007) to 1sec(2008) between top teams and force india(during qualifying).
and now in 2009...we see the gap decreased to some times less than 1 sec...!...and we also saw an double finish frm Force India @ australia with sutil 9th and fisichella 12th!

with fischella's FI not being the last car to pass the chequered flag!

its an achivement and I think they are headed towards the right direction...consistently finishing on points latest after malaysia would help us call force india an success for 2009...

    Good Luck Force India!!!
  • They're not as technically advanced as the competitors. They also use a different type of fuel/ You'd think they'd learn after the first million losses...lol
  • I watched only a few gps so far but why is Force India always last? I always see sutil crash....

i am no f1 expert or hardcore fan, can someone explain?
  • cuz....its india?
  • They are not very good because they probs have the worst car and their drivers haven't had much experience. That's also why he crashes a lot to. Sutil crashing is just down to inexperience and a lack of focus on the track.
    Hopes thsi helps.
  • 4eeeeeeee
  • Its mainly down to
    1. Few team members
    2. Small facilities
    3. Money, not as bad as it used to be but not loaded that's for sure
    4. And 1 past it and 1 very average driver.
From 1991- 2005 the team was called jordan, which had a few very competitive years, (4 wins, 2 poles, 2 fastest laps). sadly when Honda decided to back BAR only for post 2002 for reasons I'll never understand, Jordan never had time to get a competitive engine for 2003, settling for an old Ford motor, despite a lucky win( which wasn't awarded for a week and people think the Hamilton-Trulli- Australia incident is new) at Brazil, the season was poor, many sponsors ebbed away, so no money was left for development, jordan sold out to Alex Shnaider at the close of 2004 (jordan name kept for 2005) and midland F1 launched in 2006, bad car, bad drivers no development, Shnaider sold out for a large profit 2/3rds of the way through the season to Spyker, a tiny super car manufacture, who tried hard but never had any money and by end of 2007 were nearly crippled, selling out to Vijay Mallya, force India were born.
I think they are doing ok, the gap to the big teams has shrunk dramatically but many of the key elements that made Jordan successful has long since disappeared.
  • They are a new team, first ever from india. I think it will take time for them to climb up.
  • that's because force India is still a young & inexperienced team as compared to its competitors in terms of technology & strategical execution ....moreover its kind of expecting Adrian sutil to rise through the ranks as it happened with Alonso or raikonen in their early formative years in formula 1(...Michael schumacher was the one who said it would happen.. ).coming to fishicella, the most experienced driver in the team is a technically sound driver but not a champion driver...its the same with him as it was with Rubens barricallo in the Ferrari team....
  • They're a fairly new team that had to start from scratch, which makes them less advanced. The drivers aren't all that great either.window media player for my treo 650
  • Who will finish ahead in the cup race, Dale Jr or Kyle Busch?

    May be...

  • Kyle, surely.....!!
  • Let's see, I hope they both wreck and finish either 42nd or 43rd, and Kyle Busch is higher in points... so I say (and hope) Dale Jr.
  • LMAO... I'll go with Shrub
  • <---------
  • I got to go with Kyle , he's been running so good and Jr has had his share of problems lately . I like Jr , I was a loyle Sr fan for years even when he drove for wrangler when he was not so muched liked , but Kyle has been on a roll ,so I got to go with Kyle
  • Kyle may have an advantage today, but Jr will be ahead tomorrow..
I think Hamlin has something for everyone tomorrow..
  • Guess if I had to pick one it would be Kyle
I like Jr.too-just going by the stats.
  • I don't have a favorite at this point...but my gut says that Jr will finish ahead...I just wanted to say I think Maggie went above and beyond with all those little cheerleader rhymes for each answer...it would take me a month to come up with all those little ditties.
  • It was nice to see Maggie honoring Jr this week, losing a bet finally and I was entertained all week by her sources.

Best of luck to both drivers this weekend!
  • lol my neighbor is psycho for that NASCAR stuff, I asked her and she screamed "Jeff Gordon" as if he had a halo over his head. I swear I just don't get the lure of turning left so much! She sure does though!
  • I'd like to see Jr, will be Kyle.
  • I really hope Jr does better than Ky. Busch for once this year.
  • After seeing the Busch race today, I think Kyle will do better than Jr. tomorrow.
  • Jr all da way
  • Dale Jr.
  • I wonder.......
The driver who has won twice this year and 14 in the past 4? Or the guy who has won 3 in the past 4 years and none this year. HMMM......
I say Rowdy finishes top 3 and Junior between 10th and 17th..

  • What would be the coolest sponsor for A.J. Allmendinger?

    May be...

  • Probably something made out of sponge cake, or maybe Hostess Ho-Ho's
  • His coolest possible paint job? A.J. is awesome and I hope he gets sponsorship for the whole year.
  • One that follows him to F-1 and out of Nascar.
  • How about LUCAS FILMS, they could put some of the "OLD" characters around the car, Yoda, Darth Vader, Luke, Chewie, or some of the "NEW"
characters, Darth Mal, Jar Jar Bings, R2D2, C3PO any of the characters actually, they would have the rest of the year to do different paint schemes!
  • He would be a Good Face Image for Vault Energy.
Imagine a Green Car with the Vault Logo and Yellow Lightning bolts on the side of the car.
  • They could put him in the Jack Daniels car.
  • I would go old school and put STP colors and sponsorship.
  • A.J. is one of my favorite drivers, and I think the coolest sponsor would be (well, sponsor, paint scheme, number, and manufacturer) Havoline, the retro '92 Davey Allison Paint scheme, #28, and driving a Ford. That would ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
  • Carstar repair centers ... a place where we fix all your dingswindows xp sp2 administrator
  • Why don't Formula1 cars have a reverse gear?

    May be...

  • don't need one, simple as
  • because the makers are more over concentrate on forward speed gears system and not on the backward
in simple car we always wanna drive from city roads and park in city so always we wanna reverse gear for parking
  • nosir. their is a cart from which they can turn or tow.
  • space and weight....keep it lighter and faster.
  • i'm guessing F1 cars dont really need to go backwards and thats the only time they need to is the pits but the crew do that and theres not much point in having reverse. unless then spin off but they can retreat that anyways by spin the car again to get it in the direction.
  • They do have reverse, teams always push a car into the pit box due to the cars having poor steering lock and safety.
  • They do, Massa and Alonso used it last year in Singapore practice session when both went wide, but they took awfully long time to find it while Kimi Raikkonen couldn't find it at all and they had to push him around so he can get back to track so It is really really hard and steering the car into the garage should be harder so it is easier for the team to push it and in process attach those weird things on it.how to become a mortgage broker

What are your thoughts on the end of the year Sprint Cup Banquet being in Las Vegas?

    May be...

  • It's a very good idea as Vegas is a better match for NASCAR than NYC. Both cities can offer a glitzy showbiz atmosphere and are popular tourist destinations but Vegas is a 24/7 party town with far better weather for a year-end celebration, has more room to showcase the cars & actually has a NASCAR track!
  • "Vegas Schmegas"
I hope they serve it up with extra cheese
  • they should have left it in ny.it's a tradition.
  • I think its great...Las Vegas is a beautiful place :)
  • I think it would be a good change. Shake things up a little.
    Amen to the great weekend!
  • They have changed everything else about NASCAR might as well change that too.
  • I will not watch this until NASCAR starts racing in Mexico again. I cant believe those capitalist pigs pulled our race
  • it will be awesone
  • http://www.nascar.com/2009/news/headline...

I think its going to be great. Have a great weekend!
  • That will be interesting.
  • i think it is a great idea but NYC at Christmas time is like no other. At least they can hope the weather may be nicer!
  • I think that is nice.
  • I think it will be perfect once they also hold the last race of the year there. Why not do it all at the same time? I really don't like the long lag between the end of the season and the banquet anyway! Have them complete the last race there and then hold the banquet the following weekend.
    Jonah's FINE N 09!!!!
  • of course it'd be better in Vegas, at least there they have the LVMS and the NASCAR Cafe at the Sahara and NASCAR actually races there, what the he** does New York City have as far as NASCAR roots?? Good move hope it stays in Vegas
  • Let's Hit the Casino's.... oh shoot I'm too young.
  • I think it's PERFECT!!!!
    Viva...Las Vegas..
  • thanks Superdave, I was unaware of this development and think it'll be great as well!!! I like Vegas
  • They probably moved it because they don't want either of the Busch brothers to have to carry the Cups very far to get them home!
    Peace!
  • I guess it shouldn't matter to me I'll never get to go no matter where it is held, but I do like the idea of it being in Las Vegas.
  • WHOOOOOO HOOOOOO!!! Vegas beats NYC any day any time. Gonna be great its only a 5 hr drive, or a quick flight over on Jet Blue. Now they just need to have the final race of the season there. Vegas is Nascar friendly. Gonna be great.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • i think it good get a trophy and get some trophy
  • Vegas is much better than NY.
  • Can't think of a better place to hold it! What better town to parade all those race cars in than down the "Strip" in Vegas! It also gives the Busch brothers extra incentive to win the Cup and be presented with it in their hometown!

    Go Jr.>>>>

You have a great weekend too...
  • It would be even greater if <----------could get up on the stage!
  • i didnt even know that thanks for tellin me.

MMMMMM...gotta go thaw out a tri-tip now. Thanks for the idea!

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • I am with Storm Bandit. Only I'll have my K.C. BBQ sauce on Kasey for sure.
  • I'd never choose a mere bottle of BBQ sauce over Kasey or Casey.
  • How about KC and the Sunshine Band?!? I pick them...Shake-shake-shake...Shake your Booty!

    Jonah's FINE N 09!!!!

One "runs" into the wall quite often
and one has never given me the "runs".........So I will go with the BBQ sauce.
  • Casey Mears then if it is BBQ i have to choose Sweet Baby Ray's!
  • Casey Mears
  • I would have to pick Casey but the KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce sounds yummy.
  • they all 3 suck. and jonah's dad, cool and the gang sang that song, not KC and the sunshine band.
  • Kasey
  • Kasey, I haven't even heard of that BBQ sauce.
  • I just assumed KC=Kansas City...come on! Kansas City is about the 6th most exciting cookie cutter on the whole circuit...how can you leave that out?
  • As in KC Masterpiece. I pick the BBQ sauce, that stuff is the best.
  • Lol, I pick Casey Mears.
  • I gave up on Casey already.

    Never was a Kasey fan.

As for KC, I like Cattlemans myself.abbotsford airport car rental
  • Did Hamilton go faster in Australia because his pants were on fire?

    May be...

  • You are right! Maybe he had ants in the pants...especially at the post-race debriefing with the stewards when the pants apparently caught on fire, but due to all that fireproof fabrics the drivers wear, nobody noticed then.

The stupid part of all this is that the so called "witholders of information" (Dave Ryan and Lewis) opted to lie thus taking a huge gamble. They had a secure 4th place finish with guaranteed 5 championship points. Not bad at all for that uncompetitive McLaren in that race. Well, the gamble was to risk the 5 points for 6 points instead (third spot instead of fourth). But the gamble meant that if they lost they would lose the 5 points, and if they won they would gain 6 points (just one more point). Considering that the last 2 championships were decided by one point, I guess I see the point. But to risk a disqualification and zero points to possibly gain one????? It is flat out stupid.
  • he didn't let trulli pass, he got hung up on the telephone wire

you got me laughing with this one
  • If I've learnt anything from watching the last 13 or so years of F1, it's that fire is not a good thing for getting a car to the finish...or making it faster.
  • he's a witholder of information, not a liar.....
  • LOL very good, (you should work for the papers)

  • Ladys,Who do you think is the cutest Nascar driver?

    May be...

  • I think Jeff Gordon is the best looking driver. Jimmie Johnson, Kasey Kahne, and Juan Pablo are also very good looking., Brian Vickers, Micheal Waltrip, David Ragan, Jamie McMurray,as well as JJ Yeley, Tony Stewart and Clint Bowyer are fairly easy on the eyes. Funny that I don't consider Jr very good looking, since he's my favorite driver. But I do think his and Jimmie's beards are a nice addition this year.

And yes, guys, we do appreciate driving talent, but its nice to look too!
  • I like J.J.,My favorite driver Junior and Clint Bowyer toname a few.
  • 1. Kasey Kahne by a mile
    then Clint Bowyer
  • I like Jeff G, Jamie M, Ryan N, Jimmies not bad when he shaves, otherwise no. Kasey is way to baby looking for me, I like them to look like men not teenagers because im not a teenager!
  • Reed Sorenson, Elliott Sadler and Kasey Kahne :)
  • Juan Montoya

Lighten up a bit Digger, we know it's all about the skills.
Can't help but notice a good lookin guy in a firesuit when we see one though :)
  • If I was a chick, I'd say the Nextel Cup Victory Lane girl ; )
  • Bobby Labonte with Clint Bowyer and Ryan Newman tied for second!
  • Cute - David Ragan, Dale Jr., Clint Bowyer, Marcos Ambrose, Michael Waltrip and Carl Edwards.

Handsome - Elliott Sadler and Jimmie Johnson
  • Ok well to be honest with you I think Paul Menard is very hot. But my all time favorite and cutest driver is Dale Jr.
  • Kasey Kahne by far!
    #9 Budweiser dodge
    Go Richard Petty Motor Sports
  • Carl Edwards, Kasey Kahne, David Ragan, Denny Hamlin, Jamie McMurray and Reed Sorenson. All are equally hot.
  • who cares its about skill
  • Juan Pablo Montoya, he is one hot latino

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I would have to say Casey Mears, Kevin Harvick, AJ Allmendinger, Kasey Kahne and Tony Stewart.
  • Kevin Harvick and Juan Pablo Montoya.
  • Drivers that are cute are Kasey Kahne, Casey Mears and Reed Sorenson.
Drivers that are handsome are Elliot Sadler, Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Carl Edwards and Dale Jr.
For me there is a difference in cute and handsome.how to change font color on desktop
  • The McLaren/Hamilton matter has been handed over to World Motor Sport?

    May be...

  • Hamilton didn't lie.

The stewards got the answer they wanted. A bit like torturers do.

That's why it took so long.
  • Hee hee the big boy made me do it.LMFAO
  • yes
  • It's quite possible that they could get banned, as I think that McLaren still have a suspended sentence hanging over them from the Stepneygate episode. They've been punished under article 151c again, so they could be in big trouble; it's all their own fault again, mind you, if you don't cheat in the first place then you can't get caught cheating. Whether they do get banned or not depends on how much Bernie Ecclestone lobbies in their favour this time; if he's used up all his favours getting that stupid medals idea adopted then McLaren may find themselves all alone.

I don't think Hamilton would get banned for a first offence, but he and Kovalainen could find themselves going begging to Toro Rosso and Force India to try and get a ride for the rest of the season if McLaren end up getting what they were lucky to escape in 2007.
  • Oporus, Hamilton has made the statement that he was not fully truthful during the steward's inquiry, in a press conference a while ago. How come you know better than him?

Of course he has laid the blame on Dave Ryan, claiming that he was forced to lie. But lie he did!

I think a few of the sponsors should disassociate themselves from repeat offenders.
  • For further review. He could face getting kicked out the championship?

I don't think so, is this just the papers throwing things out of proportion as usual?

I think embarrassment and the whole world knowing that they are lying cheats is punishment enough don't you??
  • that's somet ing really bad...that may spoil mclaren's I,age like hell...and they stand a risk of losing their sponsors...esp. vodafone...

    Questions About NASCAR?

    May be...

  • we don't take to your kind of crap here. Beware your tambourine will be shattered.
  • I prefer Music R&P.

My favorite song is "Paint It Black".
  • youre not worth my time thank for the 2!
  • I saw NASCAR for the first time on TV the other day and it was just cars going round an oval track a couple of hundred times. However there didn't seem to be much racing going on, I was wondering a few things:

    1. Are all the tracks oval shaped?
    2. How many races in a season?
    3. How many times do the cars go round or how long is a race?
    4. Do you prefer NASCAR or F1?
  • prefer NASCAR to F1? Thats funny. Yes absolutely. I like racing that is exciting and drives people in a frenzy. I love to watch the drivers put all they have on that gas pedal and drive that car to its limit going speeds of up to 200 mph. You won't find that anywhere else.
  • If you made the observation that the cars were going around a couple of hundred times around and oval track, then I am sure you can figure out your own answers for questions 1-4. In addition, you only get one question and you defiantly got my opinionated answer.
  • 1) no there are like to "road racing" tracks
    2) not sure
    3) depends what track and how many miles last one i went to was about 41/2 hours
    4. def. NASCAR
  • 1. You have been here before and this isn't your first troll question or answer.
No not all tracks are oval shaped
    36
It differs...the number after a race (Daytona 500) means its a 500 mile race. It's a two mile track. Cars go round and round in circles for 250 laps.
NASCAR IS the top racing venue out there today. F1 is pretty boring...no passing hardly...and NASCAR is all about the speed, the strategy and determiniation to get to the front. Its difficult and only the BEST lead. Ask anyone from F1 who came to NASCAR...they are rarely if ever up front.

Oh and you gotta know that THE WORLD knows that "SOCCER" is the lamest and most boring "sport" there is. No one watches it. LOL
  • How is the FIFI section. I mean the FIFA section.
You used a troll account last fall to help invade this section. Saw you in FiFi bragging about it.
  • 1. No, they do 2 road races. And there is also Pocono and tracks like that which aren't oval or road course.
    2. 36 Races. 26 in regular season, and 10 for the Chase.
    3. A typical race usually has 400-500 laps/miles. It can usually last 3 to 4 hours. Yeah, it's long, but if you're a NASCAR fan you will enjoy most of it.
    5. NASCAR
  • 1. Are all the tracks oval shaped? not all. There are 2 road courses.

    2. How many races in a season? 36 + 2 exhibition races

    3. How many times do the cars go round or how long is a race? anywhere from 400 to 500 miles usually

    4. Do you prefer NASCAR or F1? NASCAR is way better. F1 there is no racing, it's just pieces of metal zipping around a squiggle.
  • 1. No. There are 2 road courses, which are tracks with left and right turns. Most of them are ovals, or some variation of an oval though. If you want to get really technical the majority of tracks are what's called tri-ovals, which is roughly D-shaped.
    2. There's 36 points races in a season, plus a race before the season for all of last year's pole winners and an All-Star race in May.
    3. Race length depends on the race. Most races are 400 or 500 miles long, or laps on tracks shorter than a mile. There are a few 300 mile races, one 600 mile race, and 3 or 4 races measured in kilometers.
    4. NASCAR

You picked a pretty boring track to watch for your first race.

Are you sure you haven't watched it or been here before? You look familiar to me.
  • I have a simple answer to 99.9% of the troll "Q"'s on here

    ya don't like it?
    don't watch it

yes I do like the road courses

I have no problem with F-1
    or Indy cars.
    or WOO
or local tracks (modifieds, late models etc)
I'd like to see more of ALL the races
  • No, not all the tracks are oval shaped
I can't remember exactly, but there are two seasons, the 'Nationwide Series' and the 'Sprint Cup Series'
    Around 35 Races I guess

It depends how long the track is (one lap) to determine how many laps there are, and usually a race if maybe 4 hours long?

F1 because I think there is more racing in that compared to NASCAR, but NASCAR has its moments in there.
  • NASCAR, as in any sport, it not easy to follow unless you know what's going on.. If you think you might have an interest, watch for a while before judging..
NASCAR, and F1 are both racing.. They are both about driving past other cars, if you can.. The biggest difference is that F1 runs no ovals.. That may seem like they have the harder job, you're wrong.. Ovals are hard..
Ask JPM.. And he has a really good track record (pardon the pun), on ovals..
Oval racing with other cars very close, is hard.. Much harder than F1, and it is very exciting to see..world of warcraft eax
  • I need a science project idea based on NASCAR racecar aerodynamics.?

    May be...

  • Check out how they would run backwards.
  • show how roof flaps keep a car that is spun backwards from leaving the ground.
  • Show Restricter plates got faster then COT becuz Restricter went like 200mph+ and cot goes up to 180mph
  • ffff
  • Yeah start with the scale models in the wind tunnel than take it to the track and research drafting as opposed to clean air in the front then do some adjustments to the car lift it up a bit then take it lower to the ground each track you have to make different adjustments for. Its in the track bar adjustments.
  • Anything having to do with Cup or Nationwide NASCAR car body styles, something about the body style dimensions that could be compared on a scale size in a wind tunnel.
Any ideas on what I could do for a project?
  • demonstrate drafting
  • Do whether it would be possible to win a race in reverse (like Ricky Bobby did at his race).

    Hope to help,
    CP
  • Just show the difference between a "regular" passenger car and the COT.

Or use a model of the COT and a block of wood.shook on3 videos
  • If you could meet one contact who would it be?

    May be...

  • I can't pick just one!

Holla at Johnny's Mom and 1selkie! What track should we go to?
  • Probably Winter Glory. She's funny and very knowledgeable. She might teach me how to root for Shrub, which is something I would like to do because he works on his cars and is driven and can be quite funny. I also like that he races every chance he gets. I just don't like his personality and the way he treats people. So, yeah, I think she would be interesting to meet. I would, of course, wear my Jr. Nation shirt for the occasion. :P
  • The Commander-in-Chief of Nascar Nation, you brother!
  • Mike Helton . He could get you in anywhere. :)
  • Way too many to pick one. We'll just all hold a convention, talk NASCAR, and hang out. That would make my day. The only thing we may have to do is keep the obnoxious Jr fans and Kyle Busch fans away from each other. Or we can just throw in some money and bet on who wins the argument.

But all in all, it would be a good time, and I would like to meet all the people in NASCAR Nation.
  • ........Well,it would have to be the current prez.
When the NASCAR section was first started I was the First top contributor for the NASCAR section.
  • id have 2 say storm bandit i think she lives in the same state as me
  • There is more than just one i would like to meet,But mostly the trolls then wam bam bang boom . we would be Friends .
  • i would love to meet everyone but i adore OLD FART/HOT PAPA"S avatars so i guess i will choose him. All the girls seem so cool, i would also love to hang out with them for a couple of days.
  • Well if it could only be one then I guess it would have to be you Mr. Prez :)
  • Probably Johnny's Mommy. We seem to be a lot alike. Or Rosie, to hear more of her work adventures. Or Maggie. Or dang, just about any of the girls I have as contacts.

And I bet Green Bean would be a riot at a race <LOL.> There's some pretty thoughtful guys on here too.

    Heck, I can't choose. Why don't we just have a convention? <LOL>
  • Well you honey...I'd pick you.

Just so I could knock ya out and have a Red Sox tattoo put on your back :P

    *bats eyes innocently*
  • I would probably pick Tbone. I think we could have a lot of fun arguing about NASCAR.
  • In NASCAR it would have been Tim Richmond
  • I can't do it. Can't pick just one, there are to many people in here I have come to adore, respect and truly care about so you see I can't just pick ONE.

Sorry Prez, I tried. Hey, you are on my list of the folks I want to meet someday though :)
  • I would have to say you Hot Pres.
  • 1selkie and Rosie, for sure... I think we should plan a girls race weekend and meet up. We'd have a blast!
  • As others have said there are way too many fun people on here to limit it to one. If I could only meet one though it would have to be my brother to the south, David G!
    Joanh's FINE N 09!!!!
  • too hard t pick just one, can we just have a convention?
  • You of course, darling.
  • Dale Jr
  • I would like to meet everyone from the nation, but if I had to pick one…Maggie would be that one.
  • It would be really hard to pick but I would go with my boy Tregosteevo aka Jonah's Daddy !
  • I'd like to meet that Mexican American Chick/Dude so I could beat "it" with a big stick.
  • Maggie &/or Storm Bandit

Preferably at the same time!! :-)~
  • The Army Sapper I would like to meet him.
  • Lenny D

Just so we could argue about how bad Junior is and how awesome Kyle Busch is.mandalay ranch aspen
  • So are all the same excuses going to come out about 'Hamilton' now?

    May be...

  • The FIA prefer Ferrari....
    The FIA are racist.....
    The FIA are anti McLaren......

    lmao
  • Shut up shut up, Hamilton is god, i don't wanna hear any more waaaaaaaaah!!!!

    Something to that extent.

Best news i've heard all morning i KNEW there was something fishy about the result. Why are people going on about how great a drive Hamilton had? He started 18th, several drivers crashed out and he finished (illegally as we now know) in 3rd.

I think Toyota should be praised more for finishing 3rd and 5th (now 4th for Timo Glock) when THEY started from the PIT LANE!!

Now watch the TD's roll in from the Mclaren/Hamilton fans.
  • Like the FIA couldn't prevent Hamilton from winning the title last year if they wanted to! Like they sabotaged his car in 2007 to lose him the title or maybe pushed him to the gravel!
If Hamilton believes that he is hated by the FIA he would have left F1 since last year, but he doesn't it is just the usual British thing that prevents them from saying "Fine I screwed up" and instead blame everything and everyone for his and his team mistakes, like Hamilton is supposed to be god because he drives a Mclaren!

I hope every Hamilton fan thinks about the reason why Trulli would overtake Hamilton in a safety car period?
  • Although I am a McLaren fan, If they have done something wrong, or another other team, they should just admit the mistake or deliberate act and move on.
I like the sport as a whole, but do not like all the stupid excuses about any team or driver as I think this speculation just spoils this fantastic sport!
  • The only interest created in F1 nowadays is when drivers overtake and as Hamilton is is the only driver able to do this I suggest that he is demoted to the back row every GP and that every point he takes the stewards can then take them of him with out upsetting the other drivers mind you the genuine GP watchers will have long since given up watching
  • Ha ha, No. As a fan of the sport first and a Hamilton fan second, I think it serves them right!
In this age of the FiA being able to transcript pit-to-car conversations quicker than a heartbeat and camers on every corner and every car- McLaren were a tad daft and un-McLaren like to pull a stunt like this!
All this for an extra point now they lose all points instead of the 5 they deserved for 4th. Silly and greedy.
    BUT!
It could be argued by the more conspiracy freindly amongst us that Ferrari score no points, therefore Mclaren should score no poitns, spice things up a a bit, as we know the FiA are more than happy to let dodgy things slide when it suits them. . . .

Ah! I've missed the intrigue, backstabbing and general bitchery that is Formula One!! Let's move on to Malaysia. .navman 3420

Do you think Jeff Gordon is going to win one this year ?

    May be...

  • Of course he'll win.. He's been in the mix, so why wouldn't he..
  • Absolutely. Last year was a fluke. He's too good & he's been so close. I wouldn't put it past him to win a road race, back it up with a Talledaga win & take the Bristol nite race. I'd like to see Jeff & Jimmie battling it out for the championship like in '07.
  • Have you heard him talk?
    he "thounds thorta" gay
  • I sure hope so
  • Yes.
  • No not Just one but Jeff will win at least 5. His team is starting to come together and you can see that every week. It won't be long until they start winning.
  • Definitely... And to the moron who said he isn't in his prime anymore, Sr. Had 2 say TWO championships and 22 wins when he was older than Gordon.
  • Oh yeah, he's gonna win several races this yr, and I think he will spoil his team mate's 4 championships in a row.. Come on Jeff I got $$$ riding on this bet, and I'm sure Jeff will win races and the championship.

    Go Dale Jr Hms
  • eventually he's to good even though i hate him
  • Jeff Gordon is # 1....
  • He will win a bunch of races this year and hopefully the championship.
  • Yes I think that he will, they are getting there stuff together this year.
  • I'd say yes...he's been really strong this year and I wouldn't be surprised if he checked another track off his "need to win list" this weekend.
  • Really soon...
  • Of course I do. He has had cars capable of winning almost every race so far. I think he will win several races this year with the first win coming soon. And I believe he might also win his fifth championship if he keeps it up.
  • He will and it could be this week. And he's definitely capable of winning a road course. Look at Jimmie's run last year. Fairly quiet, then exploded in the Chase. Look for Gordon to put up at least one more in the Chase...
  • my prediction is 3.
  • Never know. Everyone is quick to say "absolutely" and "of course" yet he hasn't won a race in eons. Either has Harvick, Junya and several others. Maybe not. He's not in his PRIME anymore.

Ahh... just the reaction I come to love. Reality. The suckers in life don't like to face it.herzt car
  • If you were an animal, what would you be?

    May be...

  • I'd be Uga the Bulldog. I love the Georgia Bulldogs and bulldogs in general.
  • A dolphin. They just swim around having a good time most of their lives. They are smart and one of the few animals that have sex just for the fun of it LOL
    Jonah's FINE N 09!!!!
  • It would def. be some type of bird so I could fly around and watch whatever races I wanted too

and so I can poop on all my enemies cars..
  • I would be a wolf.

  • I would be a Bald Eagle. They just look so cool when they fly.
  • i would be a mongoose because snakes can't f**k with them
  • Buster my Beagle. He is lazy, spoiled and has his owners wrapped around his paws. Sounds good to me. ;)
  • I suppose I'd be a housecat. I like to sleep, snuggle and play!
  • amm I am a bunny....and I can hop real fast to when I got a fox after me.
  • Digger. He gets an up front view if every race.
  • I would be a perigrine falcon, they can go 200 mph!

  • I would be a dolphin :D
  • A white bengal tiger with blue eyes!!
  • One of my bosses dogs. They get more love than most folks I know....LOL!! They come to work every day, they get petted, played with, rubbed and kissed a million times a day, get treats from everyone on the building and all our delievery guys, there is an electronic fence surrounding the place so they go out when ever they please, they get to go up north and swim in the lake every weekend in the summer time, they sleep with mom & dad in a big 'ole comfy bed.

They are good dogs a couple of golden-doodles, living a very charmed life. I'd take that.
  • I would be a Blue Butterfly
  • I would be a Blue whale . They seem so free and have few enemies.. All they do is eat and swim all over the world
  • I'd be an eagle..
  • A big, lazy bear. That's what everyone calls me.
  • A Lion, king of the jungle. I'd take care of the little one's.

  • I would be Dale Jr.'s most loyal dog. LOL
  • A black panther.

I'm dark, lithe, solitary and catlike. I'm also so quiet you don't know I'm around.
  • Alpha, female wolf. Loyal to my pack, but vicious to enemies or intruders.

Here is what I would look like

  • A Jaguar or Puma.
  • I would be an alligator, you get to swim all the time and eat fish .xbox2 patent
  • Who starts #1 this week at Texas?

    May be...

  • Somebody who isn't associated with winning poles..
Dale Earnhardt Jr.. Unless his teammate makes it three straight..
Jr has the best starting record at the track, and will want this one..
Jimmie does have the second best starting record, though.. Jeff,
and Jr both have two poles, so it looks like a Hendricks day, for
    qualifying.. Jr on top..
Starting the field by points is in no way disrespectful.. Those positions
have been earned, just like the top thirty five.. There was a time the field
was set by the postmark, on the entry form.. The guys who aren't fast
enough will have to beat someone, and not just for a lap.. The system
is fine, the way it is..
  • David Ragan
  • I hope they get qualifying in. Last night on the news here in East Texas(about 3.5 hours from the track) they are calling for shower thursday night and friday morning. But who knows though, the weather here changes every hour so who knows but I will go out and say Jamie McMurray win the pole at Texas if they get it in.
  • My money is on the pole winner. Unless he has an unapproved change on the car and is forced to the back for the start. Sorry, I can be smartass sometimes. :)
  • Good afternoon Lenny. Praying for Brax every day. I'll pick Ryan Newman.
  • roush car but i wont weasle out so id say carl edwards
  • Denny Hamlon
  • Hopefully the rain stays away and the field can be set respecfully!!
  • My favorite driver will be on the pole, Robby Gordon. Ha! April Fools.

Ok I say Kurt Busch the #2
  • Jeff Gordon or Dale Jr.
  • I am going with Carl Edwards since he won both races here l;ast year...and he is pretty darn hungry for something.
Kyle won both Nationwide races last year...so he is a good bet as well.
I will go with Carl just for the pole.
It saddens me to see that you have lowered yourself to hater/troll.
For what reason?? Jr. came out ahead last Sunday. And those Jr. hating trolls (like FUQ OFF) aren't any more appreciated by us Kyle fans anymore than they are appreciated by Jr. fans.
So much for trying to have some fun here.I will be glad when Sunday comes.
  • I think you'll see someone you don't expect on the pole, like a Sadler or Kahne. Hey Lenny I liked Tyler's little dunk mishap. UCONN will win and Nova will pick NC apart. Hey maybe next year my Indiana Hoosiers will win at least ten games.

    Boys and Girls it's Hamlin
  • It don't matter who starts first because Jimmy is gonna finish first :)

    "GO JIMMY GO"
  • Denny Hamlon, I think
  • Carl Edwards

Prez of the #18 hater club, I like it!!!

    Go 88

Is Wes Burton related to Jeff Burton?

    May be...

  • its like jeff gordon and robby gordon the same last name but not related....
  • No relation.
  • Burton is a pretty common last name. Now, if you ever see another Allmendinger in NASCAR, then you have a definite relative of AJ.
  • Wes Burton is supposedly an engineer for Hendrick Motorsports. Is he related to Jeff or Ward Burton?
  • nope not related, just the same last name.pda phone mac
  • Who Here hates Matt Kenseth?

    May be...

  • Not me. I used to pit crew for a team at Madison International Speedway in Wisconsin. We used to race against Matt, Travis Kvapil, Jay, Jim, Johnny and Tim Sauter, and Scott Wimmer, just to name a few.
  • matt makes my ears stand up and thats hard 2 do..
  • I don't hate Kenseth at all. He is a good driver and has 1 Sprint Cup championship. He won the Daytona 500 too. I don't see why anyone would hate Kenseth.
  • there was a little psycho girl in here obsessed with Matt Kenseth. When she found out he still loves his wife she started to hate him. Now her obsession has turned into hate. Creepy I know, but yeah, that's her. Puberty is a b1+ch
  • I don't hate Matt at all; he's pretty cool. But he kind of made me angry when he spun Jeff out at Bristol a few years ago. But I have moved on since then.
  • I hate him
  • I really like Matt Kenseth he is very straight forward guy who races clean and fair. Whats not to like plus his cats name is Lars after the Metallica drummer.
  • He is my favorite driver. I live and die on Sundays with the 17! How can you HATE Matt Kenseth? He just shows up, shuts up and does his thing week in and week out.
  • he's ok. awesome avator of felicia barton, she's from my home town of va. beach. she sang the national anthem at the norfolk admirals AHL hockey game last friday night, i worked the game. when she first started to sing it, her mic. didn't work, so she just had to stand there looking dumd for about 5 minutes while they found a back up microphone. she played it off well though, she just laughed along with the crowd while she waited. i know it has nothing to do with the question, but i just wanted to share my story about the girl in your avator.
  • he's not on the top of my list but he's okay. so i don't hate him.
  • I could care less. I'm more of an Indycar person anyway.
  • That's a silly question..
    Nobody hates Matt Kenseth..
  • he was a rookie the same year as jr so he never got the respect he deserved i belive i think he is a great driver who does not whine even tho he drives a ford
  • I don't hate him . He is actually one of my top 5 drivers.
  • Let's see. Your 360 profile tell's me you are a fan.

BQ: So why ask that question?

    "sigh" there you go
  • wait this is coming from the one who is obsessed with this guy like 3 months ago

I thought you loved that brat what made you change your mine
  • I don't hate Matt. I think he's a very good driver. I think he races pretty clean, but isn't afraid to mix it up when he has to. I didn't like when he spun out Gordon at Bristol, but I do believe it was not intentional.
  • "sigh" lay it on me
  • I don't hate him.

    I just think he is................Lucky.
  • I like Matt. He's one of the coolest people on the track.teds compression stockings
  • What track has the most 'annoying' pit road?

    May be...

  • Dover because there are only 42 pit stalls.
  • That would depend on one's definition of "annoying". Small, cramped pit roads could be annoying to one and quite exciting to another. It would be hard to not pick Dover considering it only has 42 pit stalls. For the teams, it may be Watkins Glen b/c the car comes in opposite direction.
  • Playing video games, I always hated Darlington, Martinsville, Bristol, and Richmond.

For real life, it has to be Bristol, that 2 pit roads must be confusing for the drivers when they have so much other stuff to worry about.
  • Wasn't it Las Vegas the track where a lot of drivers had problems getting on pit road because of where the commitment line was and they were getting pit road speed violations?
  • Yeah Dover I guess...someone always has to share. Also...I can't even think of it this AM but there is the off ramp that is short and guys have a hard time slowing down to 35 on it...it will come to me...later.

  • So are all the glory hunting Hamilton Fans from last season?

    May be...

  • I didn't hate Ferrari last season, or in any other season. However, I did hate the pillocks who were slagging off Hamilton, just because he had the arrogance to compete with a Ferrari driver for the title, and even had the temerity to win.

I also hated the prats who slandered Glock at the Brazilian GP.

I think you will find that there will be alot of people wanting to see Button do well this season, aswell as Hamilton, because they're British.

There is nothing hypocritical in supporting the teams and drivers from your own country. If this season pans out as a straight fight between Brawn GP and Mclaren, Button and Hamilton. I'd prefer to see Brawn and Button win, given the circumstances behind Brawn GP, that would be a fairytale.

But I certainly wouldn't begrudge it Hamilton and Mclaren either.

Button has deserved a good car that could give him a crack at the F1 title for a long time, he is the most under rated and over looked driver on the grid. Frank Williams was mad for replacing him with JP Montoya.

Yes Kubica was an all round tube, Vettel had nowhere to go and Kubica carved him up.
  • i think engineer fault for mcclaren mecedes
  • I've never supported Hamilton and never will, British or not.

I've supported Nigel Mansell, Damon Hill, David Coulthard and Jenson Button along with Felipe Massa, Eddie Irvine and Rubens Barrichello as drivers i wanted to see do well.

Hamilton is way too cocky for me to get behind.

F1 isn't like football Linzi, it doesn't HAVE gloryhunters, it isn't that kind of sport. Are those who support Andy Murray in tennis gloryhunters? Jenson and Brawn GP deserved that victory after years of being in the doldrums with Honda and for Ross Brawn to try and salvage what was left of the team, that was reward for all his hard work.

I don't think any F1 fan expects Brawn GP or Button to suddenly win the title, but we would LIKE to see them win it.
  • For me it's just a matter of one or thee other winning because their both Brits so it doesn't matter which one wins a race just as long as it's one of them winning. and seeing the Union flag flying up there at the end of a race.

As for Brawn i've never hated him why should I. he's a winning and that's always a good thing in such a sport. As for Kubica well i sure he was aware that he was lapping faster than Button in the later stage's so with only a few laps to go he knew he had to go for it. it just didn't work that time that's all.

I'd like to say. my heart would like nothing more than Button to take the world title. but my head says that it will probably be Hamilton or Masser, for the title in the end. i do have i think more reason to support Hamilton than most on this page.
unless as i have they've lived a good part of their lives here in Stevenage as i have. and also having my oldest daughter being a long time friend of Nicola and Samantha and watching Hamilton grow up would be enough. but as i've said I'd just be happy if Button or Hamilton won the title and that it didn't go to Ferrari.
  • I believe loyal true fans of Lewis will stay WITH Lewis some may switch their backing but most will stay behind him. Button cannot be compared with Hamilton he is in a different league
  • Going to be hypocrites and follow Button if he starts winning all the time??

Now remember, you will be hypocrites from 2 points of view, just remember who Brawn is and how much you all "hated" Ferrari last season.

OQ - Was Kubica an all round tube or could it not have been helped?
  • 50/50 both drivers were at fault and both had opportunities to yield. In the end both got taken out~
  • well i don't know about other Lewis Hamilton fans, but i was certainly supporting him in the Australian grand prix. i do like Button but im a through and through lewis supporter.
  • Favouring either JB or LH is not what I will be watching F1 for. They are 2 drivers who can consistently outperform their cars. I look forward to seeing them both at the front all season.

Tracks will be better for one or the other because they have very different driving styles, in fact almost opposites. LH attacks corners with the back often hanging out, JB seems to smoothly bend his car round corners.

You could be seeing a repeat of the Kubica/Vettel incident - but with LH and JB substituted. The K/V incident didn't look to me like anyones fault, neither of them seemed to have anywhere to go.
  • On past form, I think you may be onto something.

It would be ironic if his support does fade, as this may turn out to be Hamilton's best season so far as a driver if he rises to the challenge of having a poor car - decent results in this McLaren would be worth a lot more than winning in the 2007 & 2008 cars.

As to Kubica, yes it was more his fault than Vettel's, but it wasn't worth either of them getting any extra punishment for. Retiring from the race was punishment enough for a racing accident.chevorlet corvette

Whats wrong with martin truex jr?

    May be...

  • I've been wondering the same thing. I thought 08 was just a bad season and he'd get right back on the horse and at least threaten for the Chase. So far he's been even worse than last year.
  • Truex just isn't that good of a driver. I started to say I never have understood what DEI saw in him but then I looked at some of the other drivers they've hired (Michael Waltrip, Steve Park, Aric Almirola, etc.) and suddenly Truex looks like a great driver.
  • I wouldn't expect anyone from DEI just to fall in and be successful at any other organization. DEI was a mess and destroyed a lot of driver's, crew chief's, and team member's self esteem and confidence. He needs another team. If RCR would pick him up he would be fine. I was wondering the same thing about 10 minutes ago until I read this question. He needs to bail now and let it be known he's available.
  • Mediocrity..
  • He had some bad luck last weekend, seemed like he was a target
  • I have often wondered lately if he's just not that good. A lot of guys win a ton of Nationwide races then amount to nothing when they get to Cup. I don't know. I thought he'd be a force to be reckoned with. Even when he's in a stout car he just drops like a rock. Just saying.
  • He needs to switch teams. I can guarantee if he was on a team like RCR or JGR he would get better finishes. Let's face it. Chip Ganassi Racing and DEI had to merge because they didn't have enough money. This is not a team he should be racing for. I don't know why you think someone's last year with a team will be his best. I mean look at recent years. Dale Jr. didn't have a good year with his last year at DEI in 2007. Casey Mears didn't do well either in his last year with Hendrick Motorsports in 2008. So what makes you think Martin Truex Jr. will have his best year this year?
  • hes not to far behind him and reed i noticed are like 20 or so points from 17 so if they both have top 5 days they could get in the top 15 easily.

    GO REED SORENSON 43!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Let's take a look at EGR... Montoya and Truex are the two highest in points, 14th and 28th. It's the equipment, not the driver.
  • Agree with Ice, and maybe Truex has some ideas too...
  • HE BELONGS IN NATIONWIDE ONLY!
  • he has above average equipment at egr and also he is in a contract year

hello somebody tell him a contract year is when your supposed to do your best so you can options the following year
  • I really think its the equipment at this time. Its early in the season, I see Martin and Juan Pablo getting some good finishes this yr. I think both of these guys will do better as the season goes on. But I do think Juan Pablo is going to have a better season. I think Truex Jr only has 1 yr on his contract, for sure if he doesn't get decent finishes or a win or two, I say he's gonna bail after this season.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I honestly think Truex is going to make the chase.

He's had bad luck at Daytona, Las Vegas, and Martinsville.

All while on the lead lap (And he recovered well at Daytona)

I think EGR needs to get the merger sorted out a little better before they can run better. I look for them to be up to speed by Dover (the first Dover). And I think they've got to shut the 8 car down. Last year Ganassi improved hugely after eliminating the 40 car. Streamlining resources can only be good for EGR.

I expect both cars to be in the top 10 at Dover all day (Almirola will be gone by then).
  • I believe that Martin Truex Jr. has a lack of equipment necessary to perform at the highest level he can. However, I would not say that switching to a powerhouse team like Hendrick or Roush would make him into a championship contender. Like his former teammate Dale Jr. there is an obvious lacking of a certain key element that can take both of them from fighting for top ten finishes to championship form.
  • Nothing. Other than passing a kidney stone one night and running a full race the next day. Finished well, too, if I remember right.

Hello. When I can do that, I'll tell Mr. Truex about his contractual obligations.pes league
  • Anyone watch the NCWTS tantrum today?

    May be...

  • LOL!

Kyle just left the track running cause the stupidity of him crossing the commit line.
  • T-bone's a Tony Stewart fan Lenny..direct the KB insults in my direction.

Kyle's an opinionated lil' bugger..you don't like that about him..I do.

    Good effort today Kyle..good effort.
  • Harvick raced a good race. I hate to see Kyle ran off the track. It's not a very good move. He broke the commitment line rule. It caused him to fall from second to the end of the line. I guess every driver makes dumb mistakes. That was his. The worst mistake was running all the way off the track. That doesn't help his image improve to make people think he's maturing. He needs to work on those emotions very badly.
  • Instead of picking his truck up at his garage next race,
the team should leave it out at turn three.. lol
Hey.. We could get lucky.. He might commit hari kari..
Good grief.. What a drama queen.. Twelve year old girl..
    Great job Kevin, and team..
  • lmao! Wonder when he's gonna begin to grow up? Amazing! Truly Amazing that anyone could be so silly!
  • They don't call him Kryle Busch for nothing
hopefully the next time he pits // his crew just stands there and saying change them your self...
and if i was his sponsor.. i no longer would be
  • Typical Kyle Busch. Go Harvick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
  • "I did not break the rules, I did not break the rules.................Wahhhhhhh, I am going to my hauler; LEAVE ME ALONE UNTIL I WIN!!!!!!"

    Guess who that was.......................??? LOL

Yep, T-bone; that was a shot at YOUR BOY!!!! (And I emphasize B-O-Y!!)
  • beginning to see a habit there
  • Kyle can't get better until he faces the real issue behind his erratic behavior. He needs to confront the hurt feelings he has toward Rick Hendrick and realize his being let go by Rick was his fault alone.

Blaming others and blocking the truth in his mind is not healthy for him.
  • Hmmmm, another signature tantrum today at the Truck Series Martinsville race. The driver left the track!! Anyone watch it?
I was falling out of my chair laughing so hard. Kudos to Harvick with the 1-2 finish.
  • I wonder if there would have been a penalty for fixing his truck on the track if he had not crossed the commitment line. I think he was mad cause he got passed by Harvick. and couldn't catch him to do the same back. I will say Harvick did a good job not to mention the run away from the track.3 golf light oil
  • Did Robbie Gordon merge with another organization or is he still driving for his own team?

    May be...

  • Robby is still driving for his own team. He does get engines and support from one of the bigger organizations, similar to the Stewart-Haas arrangement with HMS.
  • He is still his own disaster, I mean owner.

Sorry, not a Robby Gordon fan AT ALL................

    Sorry Storm.................. :-(

I will give him credit for hanging in there against all the big dogs however.
  • I believe he is a ONE MAN TEAM!
  • He's still the same old maverick, refusing to sell out and merge. It does get confusing at times though, he changes manufacturers as often as Maggie changes avatars LOL
    Jonah's FINE N 09!!!!
  • Gordon is an independent with no business partner. In fact, Robby Gordon is listed as the owner of the number 7.
  • My favorite driver Robby Gordon, is a one man show in nascar. That is why I love him. He could get a better ride by merging or driving for another team, but he is to hard headed and independent to do so.
  • I believe he is still his own boss........And doing a great job at it :)
  • He still is with his own team. He's #7 still. Plus, I saw on the back of his car the Jim Beam logo.
  • I know at one time he was talking about merging. Did he?international flight go american airlines castres
  • Should F1 introduce a Green-White-Checkered finish like NASCAR?

    May be...

  • I guess it is pretty rare in F1 too finish on a yellow, but If they want a fun finish at the end they should do this
  • As usual for the amount of open minded and intelligent people here in this section; there are just as many snobbish and closed minded people here to match. Look at the thumbs up to the answers.

This is a valid question. Let's get that out of the way first and foremost. The best way I can answer this is to remind you that F1 rarely has situations where the races finish during a full course yellow or a SC period, but you have already rightly brought up that very point. The only race i can remember in recent history which finished under the yellow was the 98 or 99 Canadian GP. A race won by Mika Hakkinen. (Of course not taking into account the last race).

I think it would be a great idea to have one last lap of racing. Who the hell wouldn't want that?
  • NO NO NO. Just the thought of F1 mixing with anything NASCAR related is repulsive.
  • I knew there was a reason I had this category set to display only UK and Ireland questions. It's to avoid seeing pointless suggestions like this.
  • How would a green and white flag make it more fun? Why not just make it a rainbow flag then.
  • Unlike the others here i have a open-mind... i think it would be a 'ok' idea. But remember Formula One has 2-3x larger tracks than Nascar... rather than a Green-White-Checker. Just make it Green/White-Checker. So they only get 1 green flag lap of racing.
  • it would be cool if they done it like arca keep on doin it till it is a green flag finish... i think they should do nascar like arca too.

What nation has had the most individual Grand Prix wins?

    May be...

  • Can't really answer that, to the point that some nations have traditionally had more F1 drivers than others.. but Finland has most number of successful racing drivers per capita.
  • United Kingdom has the Most with 200
    Germany second 104
    Brazil third with 99
    Least is Poland, with one

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_For...
  • I'm sure Brazil has to be up there, but considering the fact that Schumi has Germany on the this list basically on his own strength is a testament to his greatness.

I doubt any other country has more wins than Britain, but I don't have the numbers.
  • I read, today, that Jenson's win is the 200th Grand Prix win by a British driver. I'm wondering how that compares to other nations like Germany or Brazil.tool time tim
  • How to Get in to Racing?

    May be...

  • find a local track.

    go to the track.
  • Hey,

Getting "famous" or just "noticed" in the realm of stock car racing is summed up in this 9 word phrase: "Being at the right place at the right time." It's all about timing yourself to get surrounded by people who can give you a chance at a career in stock car racing. And luck plays a role in it as well! :) Now, unfortunately, I'm not a well-known agent that can "hook" you up with a well-known car owner!lol! I sure as heck would if I could though!:) So...

The first thing is that it is never too early to start. All of the drivers you see on TV every week, no matter the type of cars, started out young (some as early as 4 years old) at their local race track or in karts. The hard part is to prove that you have some ability there, prove yourself there and you'll quickly find yourself moving up through the ranks. Keep it up and you'll find yourself catching the eye of a big name car owner.

    The First Step:

Go to your local race track (dirt or asphalt doesn't matter) and buy a pit pass if possible. Then go in and strike up a conversation with someone. Drivers, crew members and officials are all great resources with different perspectives on what it takes to get started at that track.

As long as they don't have pressing work to do most people will be more than happy to talk to you, but please be courteous.

Ask if they have a minimum age. Many tracks' age limit is lower than the state driving age. If you are too young to race at that track then someone will probably direct you to a local karting association.

There are definitely no "gimmies" here. Hard work, practice, natural skill, luck and money all play a roll in your ability to catch a break.

Becoming a NASCAR driver is not just about your raw racing talent. There are a number of other factors that will determine whether or not you will ever see a green flag in the NASCAR SPRINT Cup series.

    Physical Characteristics:

Racing at it's highest level is a physically demanding sport. 500 miles with a 120 degree track temperature can be brutal. A regular exercise program will improve your stamina and help you stay sharp over the course of a long hot race.

Also, a slim and toned driver will have an advantage over one that's heavier. In racing every pound counts and that includes the driver as well as the race car.

    Get A Good Education:

In NASCAR sponsors are the true key to success. You need every possible advantage in order to represent the sponsors well.

A good education gives you the ability to speak well in front of the camera.

A racer represents his sponsor everywhere he goes. If you want a quality ride then you need the sponsors' money. Before they will write a check the sponsor needs to believe that you will represent them well.

In the early days of NASCAR you could drop out of school and be successful, with today's high-tech race cars and the ever increasing business side of the sport a high school education is the bare minimum. 1992 Winston Cup Champ Alan Kulwicki was the first ever to have a college degree, now it's becoming more and more common as drivers are realizing the importance of a good education.

    Go For It!

Getting all the way to SPRINT Cup is hard work. If you want to do it there is no "little bit." You've got to give it your all, all the time. If you make it you can be a legend, but if you don't make it you'll still have a bunch of fun and learn a lot along the way.

Good luck! And don't forget me when you become rich and famous. :)

  • Kyle Busch will take the win !

  • My usual answer...Jamie McMurray :) He will win sooner or later.

  • Which channel in the UK is showing Formula 1 this year?

    May be...

  • BBC1
Re run being shown at 1.00pm today.

    No advert breaks! woooo!
  • BBC 1.....crap commentary though.
  • BBC 1, BBCi, (and iplayer)

    ten times better than ITV.

If you were a real F1 fan you would have known that already.
    Today's race was brilliant.
  • the BBC 1 channel with more on the website and the red botton. it's great and much better than the Itv coverage.
  • The BBC have the contract for F1 for the next five years. So every F1 race will be shown on BBC1. They show each race live, but there will always be a repeat and a highlights programme too. Sadly, this means some pretty early mornings/late nights or trying to avoid the news until you see the repeat.

Half of the BBC's commentary team have come over from ITV, so Martin Brundle and Ted Kravitz are still there. I miss Murray Walker though.

And I especially miss Takuma Sato. F1 needs him. He's so much fun to watch. Sure, he hasn't been the most consistent driver, but he's so exciting. I hate you, Torro Rosso, for choosing Sebastien Buemi over Sato.
  • the channel that the formula 1 is on is bbc 1 the commentary is not great but you can understand what they are saying hope this helped you94 chrysler lebaron convertible gtc

  • Martin Brundle is amazing and I love him to bits but Jonathan Legard isn't up to scratch.

  • Yeah Legard seems a bit rusty to be honest....
