What Do Yall Think???I Am Going With Yes And Gordon Will Do It!!!?

May be...

  • nope Joe Gibbs will win this race, either Hamlin or Busch or hopefully Tony will win. Just watch and if I am right give me 10 points.
  • They might not shut everyone up cuz somepeople have to big of a mouth. But when one of the HMS Team win the Cup this year they will.
  • Yes ! I am hoping that Jeff Gordon will do it !
  • So Do Yall Think That HMS Will Shut Up Every Body Drilling Them For Not Winning Yet This Season???
  • Well it looks like Jimmie or Dale Jr tonight...red flags bug me..oh well time for a beer break...Jeff Gordon has had some issues tonight, but its a great team, they can always come back...just heard fire the engines up, back to the roof of the motorhome..its still warm here tonight,

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Hmmm? I think not, Harvick is gonna win. I just can sense it.
  • yeah junior and jimmie own this track
  • Maybe. But I think it might be the #48 tonight.
  • I think HMS will win tonight, but it will be Jimmie not Jeff. However, I hope I'm wrong because Jeff is my favorite driver. I just have a feeling that it will be Jimmie.
  • No because the truth is they are drilling themselves, Dale is the only one doing great the others have been pushed to the side as they are focusing on getting him comfortable. Johnson and Gordon can't take this treatment and it is getting them all screwed up inside causing them to perform badly.

as for your question No, Tony Stewart will be the one to win the race for Toyota and completing rd. 1 of the JGR Toyota win cycle
  • Gordon? Are you kidding? He's going backwards.

    **
  • Johnson wins and all 4 Hendrick Cars in the Top 15!!!!!!!!!
  • Curious NASCAR question?

    May be...

  • Maybe the people who are not in a fantasy league just want to know everybody's best guess. Take in to consideration the past races at "X" track, how well the teams are doing, and who has been running well and see if you can correctly predict the outcome. Or they just want you to know who their fave driver is.

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • They are probably wanting opinions and Help with their Fantasy racing League--What I wonder if they are wanting an Educated Guess why do they post these questions days before qualifying!!!!!!!!!
  • Everybody has there own opinion on who will win the race each week. Some people want to know that opinion. Some are in a fantasy league and would probably like help.
  • It's like who's going to win the football game. Whats the difference? Dumb question.
  • Ya know, I have to go with Ed on this. If they're gonna ask the question, doesn't it make sense to wait until after practice and qualifying to see who is strong and who is not? Doesn't seem to be much of a point in asking on Monday or Tuesday who is going to win, unless you're just really bored and feel like wasting 5 points that day.
  • Why do people ask "Who's going to win-insert race here-every week?" I'm really curious about this. Do you really want to know? Do you belong to a fantasy league and want the picks? Do you want to know what others think? Every week the same question-phrased differently-is presented.
  • so they can go thru and give thumbs down to everyone with a different opinion then theres

this ? of who will win is probably ask atleast 3 times aday
  • I think it is like a game. See who can get it right. If it is not fun to you, skip those questions.
  • Was that some good racing between Kyle and Carl?

    May be...

  • WOO-HOO!!
That was a good race, first Carl and Denny, then Carl and Kyle, Go Rowdy!
  • I thought that was some pretty good racing. When do you get to see 2 guys going side- by- side for that long!!!!!!!!!!
  • lol i think it funny that you guys think kyle's a turd because that boy can drive nomadder what hes in... It was a awesom race.... And for the peaple who thinks he's to aggresive, its called racing.... he leaves it all on the race track every time hes out there..

    GO KYLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I have'nt seen a better race in awhile! What do you think?
  • I think you mean last week. But Carl and Kyle always are gettin at each other like that. Woohhoooo
  • It was great. Nobody wrecked anyone and it was the best of the Nationwide series this year.
  • Yes it was a good race--and a good battle for the win!!!!!
  • It was some very good racing. I just wish Edwards would have used and bumper and moved him out of the way. Because you know Kyle would have done it if he was in Edwards position.
  • awesome, clean racing. though i personally wanted edwards to punt busch into the wall. i hate that turd.

Tips for NASCAR trip (what to bring)?

    May be...

  • If you're really into NASCAR and your driver, buy a scanner somewhere. I got mine on ebay (obviously a little late for that now) but you can still get them pretty cheap (everywhere except the track). It really makes it so much cooler.

And everything everyone else said. Not so sure about the personal protective devices though, it's really quite a friendly atmosphere.
  • suscreen and earplugs are a must. Bring dinks and snacks in the smallest cooler that they will fit in. Since it's a night race you might bring a throw blanket just in case. Check the forecast before you leave to make sure there is no chance of rain.
  • Bring shirt with easy flashing access because the women at these events expose their breasts for the males in attendance
  • Bring the old Snake bite kit !!
  • Sunscreen, Coolers full of good ol' Bud, Sandwiches, cameras, radios, those damn communicator things if you have them, personal protective devices (tasers, mace, pepper spray)
  • a hat, sunscreen, credit card (no cash unless you want to eat the sludge at the track---expensive and not advisable). I never found the need for ear protection, but that's why I'm nearly deaf LOL. Water is expensive as well, bring some and leave it in your car in the truck in a cooler with ice and some beer if you drink beer. Mark the place where you park if you drive there (flag your car, landmarks that won't move before you do etc.)
  • We are heading to Phoenix tomorrow for our first NASCAR race. Never having attended an event like this, I heard that ear protection is a good thing to have. What else might be a good idea to bring? How's the food there? What's available at the races and what should we bring from home? Thanks for any suggestions!
  • Hey girl! This will be a day you will remember for a long time. First and foremost, bring lots of cash. You will need a hat, sunglasses, sunblock or tanning lotion, a camera, a cooler (check before you go on what size they will allow inside the gate), and earplugs are a must. Wear comfortable walking shoes, and I suggest getting there really early so you can set up for some tailgating before you go into the track. You will save a ton of money that you can use to purchase more memorabilia. Their food usually costs a small fortune and there's nothing like tailgating to meet people. Plus getting there early will maybe get you a better parking spot and not have so far to carry your stuff. It gets wicked heavy after 5 or 10 minutes. You will also need to pay to park - it cost us 100 bucks to park last time we went.

I cannot think of anything else so all I have left to say is I hope you have a blast!!!!!!!!!
  • bring your friends,a BQQ grill, buns and that is all
  • For PIR, I suggest you take the bus shuttle above all. Traffic to and from the track is horrid. The food is good and there are plenty of things to do before the race. Go EARLY! Ear protection is your choice and depends where you are at I was in the grandstands towards the backstretch so it was not so bad.
  • plenty of beer and Skoal or Copenhagen.
    maybe some sun block.
and a sign saying "Say No To Jr. He Is Not God!"
  • What's more important, car or driver?

    May be...

  • You know ... it's a tough call to make, and the experts have always said driver ... it's obviously both to some degree. BUT the best driver can't succeed in crappy equipment, while the WORST driver will fail even in good equipment.

That tells me that the equipment is at least as important as the driver. I guess I'd split it about 50/50.

Jeff Gordon couldn't drive the 78 to victory lane. Likewise, Chad McCumbee (I shouldn't pick on him) couldn't drive the 24 to victory lane (though the latter is more likely than the former, showing the importance of equipment).

    Nathan
  • It's got to be a balance of the two. Some great drivers can take a bad car and win with it but not always.
  • Looking at how far Kyle Busch took that 18 car (good driver/bad car) and looking at how bad Kasey Kahne did last year (good driver/bad car), is it more car or driver.
  • Car or it would be called driver racing instead of auto racing.
  • Neither. It has to be a balance of both car AND driver.

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • Combination of both, but if car is beyond horrible even the best driver in the world won't be able to do spit with it. However, a great driver can overcome a crappy car and bring home a decent finish.
  • It is the car. you put mark martin in a hendricks car. see how many races he would win.
  • right now looking at this car,I say both is very important. The car doesn't drive right then the driver needs to change something. They both now are very important
  • Driver
  • It's a combination of both.
  • i think you almost got it right, if you look at Kahne thats a good driver/bad car, and if you look at the 18 last year, bad driver(Yeley)/good car, What Kyle Busch is doing shows the 18 was a good car, so you can see that in the combination going both ways, you have the same results, now that Gibbs has a good driver in the good car (18) they are winning.
  • Well, in NASCAR, the driver, because all the cars are nearly the same.

But some manufactures seem better than others.
  • I'd say the car is a bit more important, but it always helps having a great driver, such as Carl Edwards...
  • its a combination of both. If you take the best driver and put him in the worst car there is no way that he will have the power to win. and if you put the worst driver in the best car he will probably wreck it in the first lap of the race.
  • Driver.
  • Both have to be on thier A game to win a race. But I do believe the handling of the car and it's performance is a bit more important, if a driver is having a bad day and an awesome car he still may have a great finish. But no matter how good the driver is if the car sucks it's over.
  • Both. Could the driver of the 48 move to the car #45 and win races? Probably not. Could the driver of the 45 move to the car #48 and win races? Hmmmmmmmm
  • Ideally, good car/good driver...

The drivers have to be "good" or they wouldn't be behind the wheel.

If the car is garbage, they can't possibly just hang on for dear life.

Not like in the 70's or 80's. Remember when (I think) Ned Jarret won by 11 laps, but had been down like 20.!!!
  • A Combination of Both--60%-40%!!!!!!!
  • its both. without one you cant race so both very important
  • Of course a driver must be talented. So does a crew chief. So does an owner. So does the pit crew. So do the engineers. So do the engine guys, etc... etc..... etc. 'Nuff said? NASCAR has become a team sport and I believe it is more complex than perhaps any other sport. Remember, this is a sport measured in thousandths of seconds. Once you get your head wrapped around that, you begin to realize that everybody involved in the sport is a phenominal talent. Sorry for rambling on. I'm not a fan. I'm a bonified fanatic. GO DALE JR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seeeeeeeee ya at the track.
  • Don't insult Jimmie Johnson like that lady. He's more of a driver than Kyle ever hoped to be. Obviously Jimmie is a great wheelman, but what puts him head and shoulders above a lot of other guys is his ability to relay succinct information about the car. Having The Chad doesn't hurt either.

Don't get me wrong, Kyle's a great guy.
  • I believe it is part driver but if the car is not set up right it doesn't matter if you have Jeff Gordon or Carl Edwards they won't be able to drive it. Yu saw that last week at Texas with Jeff Gordon.
  • In all honesty, I would say both. A good car and a good driver is an awesome combo. If you have a bad car and a good driver, the good driver can usally make the bad car better. Now if you have a good car and bad driver that could be bad news because that driver can't drive the car was well.
  • It's always about the driver. Kyle finally admitted it was a "drivers error" rather than blaming his crew or other drivers. I think he finally figured it out that Nascar fans were tired of the boo hoo mama he made me lose. Have you ever heard Clint Bowyer blame someone other than "the Biffe" for a loss of victory lane? Please! He ran out of gas and was still so full of himself, he still didn't have enough of what it takes to admit he didn't win. Now that is a sorry Nascar driver. Sorry Biffe, but I suppose your mama still loves you.

  • How many cars would you have start the race?

    May be...

  • I would base it on the size of the track.

So if say a 1 mile track can have 43 cars, then a 2.5 mile track should be able to have 108 cars.

    Talk about a demo derby....

    LOL
  • I would have different numbers for different tracks. I'd have 35 start on the short tracks, but around 50 for larger tracks.
  • 35. Top thirty five are Guaranteed to race, and that's who should be in it.
  • 45....43 is such an odd number and this would give more go or go home drivers a shot.
  • I would go the other way. I'd reduce it to 32 to get most of the wannabees out of the way.
  • for short tracks i would have it 36, but for bigger tracks like daytona and talladega, i would have the number be around 53. could you imagine how exciting a restricter plate race would be with a pack of around 50 in it. awesome
  • I'd say where its out now... especially on short tracks. If you let all the idiots in who "thought" they could hack it, it would make the sport much more dangerous for the talent. Unfortuneately a couple of drivers get left out every week but really, they probably wouldn't have done much else than get their sponser on the track.

Of all the changes I could argue for... sorry, this isn't one of them.
  • I'd say around 50.
  • it would depend on the track. and the smaller tracks i would go down to 30ish. but at Daytona and Dega it would be open to those who want to race it there is so much more room there for them to run at.
  • 50 or 55 so they could get rid of the top 35 rule
  • 43--The 43 Fastest Qualifiers!!!!!
  • Qualifying in Phoenix?

    May be...

  • A hundred cars could qualify for any race... but only 43 make it. In tommorows case 45 cars tried to make the race and 43 made it... that left Kyle petty, and John andretti. out of it. If i was really good at racing and wanted to be in nascar.. and i knew a couple drivers.. i could even qualify.
    Isnt interesting how that works...
    Have an awesome day!!!! (=
  • 45 cars attempted to qualify of course only
43 will get to start. The
    ----
02 that are not are the #34 John Andretti & #45 Kyle Petty
    ----

Ironic that 2 of the most well known surnames in racing failed to qualify isn't it?
  • Yes Only 43 in the Starting field--45 Attempted to qualify--Kyle Petty & John Andretti failed to make the race!!!!!
  • I was reading the starting grid for the race here tomorrow night and it shows that 45 cars are qualified to race. Isnt there only 43 slots in the field?
  • Yup, that means 2 people will be packin their bags and headin home if they don't qualify for the race.

I believe it's the top 35 are in and the rest have to qualify based on time.
  • There are 43 starting. Two cars did not qualify. There's no limit to how many cars can try to qualify but only 43 make the show.
  • In the slot on the qualifying grid next to the driver's name it should say DNQ for "did not qualify."
  • If Gordon wins Talladega again, will Jr. Nation throw all their trash at him?

    May be...

  • If they do then they will show their true mentallity,
  • well duh they are jealous
  • when Gordo wins at talladega, yea Jr. Nation will be mad and jelous as usual that Jr. got beat by the greatest driver ever. They will throw trash because they are dumb rednecks who don't know that they are teammates now.
  • i seriously doubt Gordon will win, but if he does they are probably a few that will throw something. It dosn't do any good for Junior to tell his fans not too, cause they do it anyway.
  • yes
  • I would hope not but knowing Jr's fans probably. The will be tossing amped engery drink cans at him instead of Bud this time.
  • Those days are over...they will be popping the tops off of the new AMP cans that has Jr.'s picture on them & hammering down the energy drink.
  • No Not unless they want to go to Jail--Security has really tightened At Talladega!!!!!!
  • No, because that's not what they're about.
  • Let me tell you about Talladega if you've never been. There's a different class of people at Talladega verses any other track I've been to. When I say different class, I mean no class or low class. Not everybody mind you, but I have never seen so many low life rednecks and trailer trash is one place in my life as I have the 2 times I've ben to Talladega. All 90% of that crowd cares about is Jr winning the race and how much beer they can drink. Atlanta is my favorite track.
  • yes i think they will
  • Anything can happen. I doubt it though, I wouldnt want to risk being banned from Talladega for life.
  • I wouldn't doubt it, they are a rather shallow minded bunch afterall.
  • I just threw a beer can at my computer, I meant to hit you, now I need a new screen. (Just Kidding)

But to answer your question, the low life Jr fans probably will, shoot, if anybody wins but Jr., they'll still more than likely do it.
  • Maybe so. If everyone did it, it would definitely make it easy on the clean up crews if ALL the trash was on the track instead of the stands!
It would be cool if Gordon and Jr. finished with a 1-2 photo finish with Gordon winning.
  • Yes
  • I hope not. People need to learn to be better sports. It won't do any good anyway. Gordon has just been better and luckier than Jr. lately. Dale's been through a lot of changes lately and it'll take a while for him to find his stride again.
  • Well Gordon never won this season so maybe he wont win the Talladega
  • Not as many.
  • I doubt it, they have too much trash. They will probably take most of it back home.
  • Yes
  • YES of coarse
  • Win the MAN #24 wins AGAIN, I hope all of those jealous haters do throw trash and show what they are really made of. They are so confused with jr and 4-time CHAMP J-Gord being teammates they don't know what to do! lol
  • No offense dude, but my answer is "no" because Jeff Gordon WILL NOT win Talladega this time! I honestly think Dale Jr. stands a better chance of winning then Gordon does again... and then there's always dark horses. Jeff Burton maybe? I would love to see him get his first Talladega win.

I'm going to be at the Talladega race, I can't wait!
  • The only ones that will throw stuff are the assholes who are still pissed that he went to Hendricks, other than that, if Gordon wins, Jr's fans will be cool with one of his teammates winning.
  • hopefuly not. It's a shame, there are TOO many haters out there. That would be very childish!
  • no

    their on the same team
  • Well this Dale Jr fan "will not" but then theres that rowdy bunch of Jr Nation fans in 'dega they just need to grow up and think, acting they did last yr got several fans banned from the track for life..So maybe they learned..Dale Jr and Jeff are team mates and friends, I say get it over....But I think Dale Jr will win.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • hey screw you gordon fans jr owns talladega
  • 10.4.08

    Did you hear?

    May be...

  • that is not a question
  • Really...WOW!
  • Ah, someone beat you to it, but this is still very exciting news.

Again, congratulations to Kvapil! I hope he has a strong finish on Saturday.
  • Yeah, but it is only for one race. So, I am happy for them, but I still wish they could get a full time sponsor!!
  • That's cool, Jack probably made a couple of calls and got it done. He needs Yates to stay viable in order to get the benefit of their engine department.
  • Wow, for one single race? Thats great! So proud of him. I bet in Talladega, he will have sponseryates.com back on his car.
  • yes i read it about 7 questions ago
  • right on
  • crazy.
  • Yeah I heard that and I am so happy! I hope he can have a good run so he can keep a sponsor all year!
  • Thanks for the info. Im real happy for Travis but I think Im happier for Yates and the Wood brothers getting a little extra help from Ford. Them two guys help Ford get where it is today in Nascar.
  • Kvapil got a sponser in the likes of Ford Motor Company. Not huge news but I'll spend 5 points to keep everyone in the loop.
  • Are You Serious?
  • that's great to hear. they have got to be running low on cash with both of their cars unsponsored
  • Good for him.
  • What is your favorite driver's theme song?

    May be...

  • TOM I LOVE YOU
  • I made a you tube video last year about Jeff Burton, with the Godsmack song "I stand alone".
  • mine would be bad to the bone for tony stewart because he doesn't care what anybody has to say about him
  • Lookin at the back of the 17!!!!!
  • "Eye of The Tiger"- Survivor,"Ride Of Your LIfe"-John Gregory and " Remember the Name"-Fort Minor
    These All Fit Dale Jr
  • For Kyle, it'd have to be Go Speed Racer Go
  • Mine is "Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers for Elliott Sadler because he qualifies well and then runs terribly.
  • "We Are the Champions" for Tony Stewart because he has won in every series he has raced in!!
  • Mine is Shake ya tailfeather from p.diddy murphy lee and nelly from the bad boys II soundtrack.. because the song sounds crazy. when it a red light, i stop the car and start dancing to the song. by jumping up and down on the car seat

  • Why is nascar in the sports section shouldnt it be in the auto section?

    May be...

  • the drivers are the athletes
  • OMG, like I never heard that one before....LOLOLOL(total sarchasm)
It's a sport the cars do not drive themselves....
  • Before I answer this question I would pose an extention of your logic and invite your response(s). If boat races are not a sport shouldn't they be in the boat section? If so, why do we have an America's Cup? Should race horses be listed in the pet section? If so, then the Run For the Roses is the worlds most expensive pet show. If skydiving is not a sport then why can't just anyone jump out of a plane over Washington dc? Why aren't parachutes listed in the used clothing section?(They are after all made of silk most of the time.)
So having said and asked these few similar questions here is my basic response. The next time you think that race car drivers and their pit crews are not atheletes try to do this :change all four tires on your car and put 15 gallons of gas in it, clean the windshield and adjust the suspension in under 15 seconds. If you truly believe the people are not atheletes or that being thrown around inside of hot car wearing an even hotter nomex fire retardant suit for 4 hours trying to avoid the worst rush hour traffic never to hit the streets of any major city just to entertain 35 million or so people every weekend is easy then why don't you enroll in the Richard Petty driving experience and for a couple of days you will receive a small portion of the life these men and women live everyday....god doesn't make small minds but you could sure use to open yours up.
  • Using that logic, your question should be in the general knowledge section.

So, I therefore deny your question and insert my own.

Anyone think this is a dumb question.

    Please answer below.
  • Yes Tom it is.
  • no, but the drivers and pit crew members are, duh. by the same token the bats and gloves in baseball aren't athletes either, they're just the equipment the athletes use, just like the cars are the equipment the athletes use in NASCAR, same difference.

EDIT: to answer tom p's question, yes, this is an extremely stupid question
  • Why are you here? Why does it matter? It's a sport, stay and enjoy it or get out of here or I'll come and spam your favorite sport section with ignorant and small minded garbage.

Are the cars athletes? Are baseball bats athletes or the players? Come on, don't be a dummy.

And Tom P, it is a dumb question, let's get back to the fans and leave these garbage questions be.
  • Amen Godsmack and Tom P. Its a motorSport like the others have said. The drivers are much of athletes as anyone. 4.5 hours in a 130 degree car at 150 to 200 mph pulling numerous G forces thru the corners. Does that sound easy to you.
  • I agree, watching cars go around in a circle is not a sport.
  • Hey Alex watching anything is not a sport. But these are some of the best athletes on earth. the number of METS that they burn is non-comparable to that of any other sport. These guys have them beat hands down.
  • Its not like the cars are athletes.
  • I don't know about anyone else but I'm so tired of this question. You are right the cars are not the athletes, the drivers are. It's takes more strength and stamina to drive one of those cars for 4 hours at 180 to 200 mph, than any other sport. You should get a little more educated about stuff before you rag on it.
  • Dumb question, another person who thinks it's not a sport. as stated before:

    Football----Game

    Basketball--Game

    Hockey---Game

    Baseball---Game

    NASCAR---Motor SPORT

What?? Just because these guys don't play with balls, it's not a sport, well, You got to have balls to play this sport!!
  • Yes Tom P, it's a dumb question.
  • Hahaha!!! I wasn't even going to validate this 'dumb' question but I had to read the responses, then I saw Tom P's response and I am glad you denied his question and inserted your own and of course I will be more than happy to answer your question. Yes, it is a dumb question from a small minded person trying to get a rise out of us. I think it backfired nicely.
  • NO BUT THE DRIVERS ARE. DUHHHHHHHH
  • Wow Never thought of it. maybe it should be in both because NASCAR is a sport, at least i think so but ive been watching it for 16 years.
  • That's why it's in the AUTO racing section of the sports section. Auto racing is a sport, NASCAR is a sport, and you are a tool.
  • Tony Stewarts career?

    May be...

  • 5 years. guessing of course.
    GO # 9 Kasey Kahne
  • That is probably a really good plan for him, but I think he is a long way from retiring!

    Go JR.>>>>
  • As long as he can win a few races a year and compete for a championship he'll still race. I read recently that he said he is having more fun this year than he ever has even though he hasnt won yet this year.
  • Tony is a man of his word.

He would probably butt too many heads with another team.
  • Loyalty is a wonderful trait, I admire that in him. I bet he sticks around for a while yet.
  • I think that's a pretty cool statement. I hope he will stick to his word.
  • He will stay with Joe Gibbs Racing until he retires.
  • I say he races until it isn't fun and he is riding around the track not able to win which will probably be when he is in his 60s or 70s.

Seriously, I think he could race until he is 50 or 55.

He is 36 right now (37 in May) so that will be until 2021 if he decides to race until he is 50.

If he wins 3 races a year which is what he is averaging that would bring his total to 74 by the end of 2021 a very respectable collection of wins and he is bound to win at LEAST two more titles in that time. If he picks up his average, or races until he is 55 he could get 80-90 wins that would be awesome (in my opinion as a TS fan)
  • According to an AP article that I read this morning on this web site, Tony Stewart does not intend to drive for another owner at the end of his contract. He says I plan to retire with Gibbs, I have since day one. He is a great great friend. He did not elude to how much longer he is going to drive though. Your thoughts?
  • I tend to believe him but things change. Now Brett Favre might come out of retirement and Mark Martin is still racing after his Salute to the Fans tour when he was supposed to hang his helmet up.
  • As long as he's having fun.... which means he'll probably extend that contract ...

He's one of the three best drivers on the track today ( his record proves that)..

Smile... and trade in those Goodyears for a real tire :)
  • Things change. Remember Rickey Rudd and Mark Martin.
  • I'd say he only has 2 or 3 years left. His heart doesn't seem to be in it as much as it used to be and he has other things he wants to do. I think a big reason he wants to stick around for a little longer is because he is passionate about raising money for various charities, but he certainly doesn't need the money for himself. He would be content to go dirt racing and be more involved with the day to day operations of Eldora, in my opinion.
  • Tony's a pretty good dude. He usually sticks to his word.
  • He may surprise everyone and retire in the next few years. I don't see him sticking around for much longer. He is smart to stick with Gibbs. Other team owners may have cut him loose after some of the incidents he's been involved with over the years. Joe Gibbs must be one heckuva coach to keep guys like Stewart and Busch under some kind of control. So far they haven't had to race each other much, but if push comes to shove, sparks will fly.
  • Yea, he will be there until he retires. I dont think he is going to be around forever though. He is sick of the NA$CAR hype and media, and would rather spend his time on a dirt track.
  • I won't be surprised if he retires early. Everyone knows he's a dirt track racer, his first love. It wouldn't surprise me now that he owns El Dora Speedway. Hopefully he can fix the problems there.
  • I recently was fortunate enough to recieve hot passes for talladega. What do I need to know?

    May be...

  • whats the best way to meet my fav drivers? what time do i need to get there? how long should I stay, does anything happen after the race? can i take a backpack? anything that will help make my experience the best please let me know...
  • Id get there early as possible, the night before is even better. stay as long as you like, and yeah I think you can bring a backpack, this past weekend at texas i was allowed to!
  • check the track website for any special conditions. I know Las Vegas does not allow drinks to be brought in to the track nor coolers. Also, probably will have backpack searched. The track website should tell when gates open and garage area opens. HAVE FUN
  • If you have hotpasses, you will have no problem meeting drivers. Just don't bug them during important times, obviously. You need to adhere to the dress code. Long pants, close toed shoes and a shirt with sleeves (i.e. no tanktops- T-shirts are OK). I am not sure about a backpack in the garage area. They might not allow that. I've never thought about it before. I try to travel light at the races :)
I DO know that the back pack would have to be clear, as it is an ISC track. They won't let you in with a regular backpack-not even into the regular grandstands.

After the race is the "race after the race." The drivers who are not obligated to do an interview try to get out of the track ASAP. It gets deserted pretty quickly!!
  • You can take a back pack(subject to search) but remember this.No Shorts in the garage area, and no open toe shoes(flip flops sandles so forth) if you have on shorts or open toe shoes you will not be allowed in.
  • Just get there Plenty Early and have Plenty of Film in your camera and a Pen for Autographs!!!!!!!

    When will Elliott Sadler win?

    May be...

  • You know, I would like to see him do well I really like him. He just hasn't been the same since he jumped off the Speed stage to crowd surf and hit the ground. He has had back pain as of late and having a hard time staying comfortable in the car. So I dont know if he is going to continue racing or not. My opinion is just speculation.
  • I think his time is just about done man, sorry to say. He seems like a nice guy and i'd love to see him get one more before he fades out completely
  • Before Earnhardt Jr does
  • I've been a fan of his since 2005 and and never seen him win as a fan. I've been a fan since 2002 so I've seen him win two but I was a Kasey Kahne fan and he beat him both times so I was mad.
  • Its been a long time since he has won a race his loosing streak is longer than Dale Jr's.. I'd love to see Elliott get a win he is such a cool guy, one of my friends played Golf with Elliott and Jeff Hammond last yr out here in Palm Springs when they came out early for the Sept race, now Elliott knows why people are on the golf course at 6am out here (big time heat). I'd love to see him get a win, he is way over due..
  • Sadler will win all of the remaining races this year...haha
  • I think Kyle Petty will win a race before Sadler does.
  • Right after Hell Thaws after the freeze over..........Sorry
  • Who knows when he will win, heck he only has 3 wins in his whole career. I would love to see him pull into Victory Lane soon. I have always liked Elliot he is a pretty cool guy.
  • Poor Elliot, he just doesn't have the fire anymore it seems. I am a huge Kasey Kahne fan and have been a # 9 Fan since I can remember.
As far as the 19 maybe a new crew chief would lite a match for that team.
    GO # 9 Kasey Kahne
  • sadler will win at richmond
  • When he switches to Ford or Chevy. The Dodge COT program is far behind Ford and Chevy.
  • He'd probably have to leave Dodge to do so, but considering he hasn't won since 2004-driving for then Robert Yates Racing-and given that he is 33 and NASCAR skews younger and younger, the chances of Elliott getting a top-tier ride are slim. I hope he does break his duck, but it's not looking promising at the moment.
  • It will be awhile before Elliott wins--Especially with his Back Trouble!!!!!!
  • How fast do cars in the various motorsports go - F1, Indy etc .. which is the fastest?

    May be...

  • Hard to say because none are like for like in racing environments. F1 cars don't race on ovals, but if trimmed to suit would *probably* be faster
  • NHRA Top Fuel - 330+ mph
    IRL - 220+ mph
    F1 - 200+ mph
NASCAR - 205+ mph (230+ without the restrictor plates)
  • F1 is the car most capable of a top speed which is somewhere in the neighborhood of 230 mph. IRL is around 220 or so. Nascar would be around 210 if they took the restrictor plates off at Talladega. Otherwise Nascar is running a top speed of 194 or so.
  • Can you race a Mustang Saleen 625 hp in Nascar type races?

    May be...

  • You cannot race a Mustang Saleen-a great car by the way-in any NASCAR sanctioned event.

However, if you are interested, you can road race the car in some SCCA classes as well as perhaps-once you become sanctioned-in the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series Presented by Crown Royal Cask #16. Log onto SCCA.com and GrandAmerican.com to find out what you would need to do to make that happen.

In the past, Saleen's did race in the American LeMans Series, but those were Saleen Corvettes.
  • An oval track would be a total waste for that car.
  • Or are they made only for road courses?
  • NASCAR mandates the car that is driven in all races. A mustang, for now, is not raced in NASCAR. Any one of the sports car circuits are where they would be raced.
  • No it doesnt fit the Ford Fusion Templates and Specifications!!!!!
  • No it would not pass inspection , but you might be able to try running it against the pace car . lol
    Good Luck.
  • no...
  • Nope. Even if you did, you would get smoked!!!
  • No...It has to be a nascar approved car....I call them spec cars...They are designed to nascars specifications....Remember their is nothing stock about them!!!!
  • No, good luck getting the body and frame through inspection. The COT is cookie cutter bodies for all manufacturers.
  • Why is "Cousin Carl" edwards so dominate racing the "cookie cutter" mile and a half tracks?

    May be...

  • They hit the Initial set up and make the right adjustments as the Track conditions change!!!!!
  • do you like seeing different teams besides hendrick dominating this year?? It seem to me that all the "big" teams, RCR, Roush, JGR, and Hendrick all have the "COT" figured out..what do ya think???
  • When Roush realized he was behind in the COT program, they did a LOT of testing. Guess who the driver usually was. If you guessed Carl, you are right! Therefore, the 99 has a better handle on the COT. And, all the teams are pretty equal on the shorter tracks. They've raced the COT there before. Where it is paying big dividends is on the tracks where the COT has yet to race. They are where the 24/48 was a year ago- ahead of the game.
  • A lot of testing is what is helping Edwards be so dominant. It showed towards the end of the year that not just the 99 but the entire Roush Fenway group was strong in the COT. The 99 will be the team to beat on the 1.5 mile tracks all year until somebody can beat them head to head. What I'm wondering about is whether or not their short track/flat track and superspeedway program is gonna be good. If it's like anything his 1.5 mile program is then the 99 may be the team to beat for the championship.
  • I really enjoy this season so far than i did last season.. It was so lopsided from the beginning to the end that it was so boring that i wouldnt watch a raced until the last 50 laps or so. As it stand this year i beleive every major team except for gillette-evernham. This year is going to be alot more interesting, we could even see a foriegn manufacturer win a nextel cup..How crazy would that be!!..Be alot of mad rednecks!!!
  • Roush has figure out the cot car and other drivers haven't
  • Now we have some racing. Last year was frustrating, who wants to see the same team win EVERY COT race? Hendricks had some creative ideas that were within the rules last year that helped them enormously. Now it is a level playing field. Good luck to all.

Which car does Tony like driving?? Chevy or Toyota Did he compare??

    May be...

  • If you look at the armorall commercial its a chevy says something huh??? I think so.
  • I have not heard a comparison. That doesnt mean that there isnt one though. I do believe that Tony likes whatever he can win in, which is just about anything.
  • How do you figure? The COT is not a make of car, it's a parity deal dreamed up by the France family. They are all identical except for decals and minor tweaking to the front & back.
  • well since tony's mom is a jap, he likes the homos over at Toyota
  • Doesnt make a difference with the COT. All the same car with a different nose sticker.
  • Doesnt make a difference with the COT. All the same car with a different nose sticker, a little different fron end geometry.
  • He has stated many times he would rather drive a Chevy!!!!!
  • Sprint Car
  • I guess he doesn't want to be known as a Toyota driver. It's like he would prefer doing doughnuts in a Chevy, though the only difference is stickers, and the nose/rear. Seems less macho, don't you think?
  • I guess he misses chevy!
  • I think he misses the Chevy Monte Carlo. I don't think he'd care too much for the Impala in the Sprint Cup Series. It's the COT along with the tire package and lack of handling that Tony doesn't like. In fact the majority of the drivers, if they're being honest, say they don't like how the COToday handles or races. Mikey talks up the COT all the time but he's a corporate suck@$s. The only guys that didn't complain after Texas were Carl (won the race) Edwards and Mark (I'm just so happy to still be driving and SO appreciative of all the fans) Martin. The drivers that won championships in the "downforce" cars miss them. They obviously had them figured out and now they have to get back to work if they want a chance at another championship. There really is no comparison between his Chevy of yesterday and Toyota of today.
  • He would probably rather be in a sprint car
  • I believe he wants to drive Chevrolets. But since he is a contracted JGR driver and JGR is a contracted Toyota team, he has no choice in it.
  • Tony Stewart or Jeff Gordon??

    May be...

  • Yes, Jeff Gordon has struggled this yr...But Big Daddy has your stats, Jeff is the better of the two.. Nothing against Tony, but Jeff's stats speak for itself...

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Jeff Gordon is one of the greatest drivers of all time. Tony Stewart will never win as many races as Jeff Gordon has.
  • Jeff Gordon!!!!!
  • They are both annoying.
  • I 'M A CHEVY LOVER! I LIKE ALL CHEVY DRIVERS! DALE JR IS MY FAVORITE FAN! Report It
  • Tony! He wins championships in EVERYTHING he drives.
  • Tony. Solid, consistant, and determined. Im not sure what is going on at Hendrick, but it really seems to be effecting the 24 and 48.
  • What's the question? Tony is having a better year but Jeff is a better and more consistent driver in general. Look at their winning percentages and the body of their work and it's not all that close. Jeff is already a top 5 driver, all time, and may end up very close to the top depending on your criteria.
  • Tony Stewart all the way. Jeff is a great driver also, but he's to much of a brat when things don't go his way.
  • I love Tony...even if he did get fat.

Edit: Then there is also that little fact that for quite a few years he was driving both NASCAR and Indy car too, which I would say makes him overall the more skilled driver.
  • Tony.
  • Smoke is definitly doing better this season.
  • neither!!!!!!!!!!!
i don't watch racing it is stupid.
i can watch pocker for all i care........................
  • Jeff Gordon
  • SMOKE!
  • Jeffy. I'm not a fan either. Was Tony but I'm sick and tired of his whining. Just shut up and drive the car.
  • I don't care for neither one of them. But I would say Tony Stewart because I absolutely can't stand Gordon.
  • Jeff Gordon hands down. He is a better driver with the Championships to back it up, has a better attitude, better temperament, he drives clean for the most part, he is not arrogant or a hypocrite I think Gordon is just an all around good guy.
  • 100% aabsolutely Jeff Gordon he has one way more championships and he always does bad at the be gaining and then picks it up and finishes 2 allot be this year he is going to win he needs to win and right now alot of Jeff's and jimmies stuff is going to dale to make dale look better but really dale is a bad racer and he is so popular because of his daddy but after a few years dale will not be getting the best stuff he will probably get stuff like Casey mears or get bumped to a better driver but i have to say Jeff 100% because i am a Jeff Gordon fan all the way
  • Jeff Gordon
    =)
  • No offense to Gordon fans because I like him too. However, the number of champion titles he has gotten in the past is totally irrelevant to how crappy his season is starting. What does one thing have to do with the other when they are at opposite ends of the spectrum?

The way things have gone so far, there's no way to make an educated decision, but I will have to go with Tony Stewart on this one.
  • Gordon
  • Nice answer big daddy. But if we look beyond nascar at overall driver skill we would be forced to say tony. The man has won and won championships at everything he's ever driven. Stock car, open wheel, dirt, go kart, midgets.... he could prolly drive a golf cart into the top ten (joking). He is a great race car driver period.
  • Tony.

    'nuff said.
  • Tony is having a better year than Gordon, but Gordon will still make the chase but over-all, Gordon is better & don't think Tony will come close to 80+ wins when he is finished racing in NASCAR
  • This year Greg Z. and the boys r holding their own so I say..
    Smoke
    GO # 9 Kasey Kahne
  • Tony will eventually equal Jeff Gordon's totals for wins and championships. This season is the start of Gordon going down hill fast.
  • Okay, Jeff has been better in NASCAR, but when you look at what Tony has done in other racing series, Tony is by far the better driver. You didnt specify just in the Cup Series. If you people get real and stop kidding yourselves, Tony is the better all around driver. But Jeff has been in Nascar for like 16 years, so of course he is better, but only when it comes to the Cup Series, not overall.

    Go Smoke!!!!
  • Stewart
  • Tony Stewart is a great driver and tremendously talented. But if you compare their stats, that makes Jeff look all that more impressive.

    Jeff - Totals 516 starts
    81 wins (16%)
    237 Top 5's (46%)
    320 Top 10's (62%)

    Tony - Totals 327
    32 wins (10%)
    122 Top 5's (37%)
    196 Top 10's (60%)

Besides the Championships (4 to 2 but Jeff been around longer) to me the telling stat is the Top 5's. Gordon has finished in the Top 5 in nearly 50% of the races which to me is incredible.
  • No one but 4-time CHAMP J. Gordon. The MAN! GO 24!!
  • Anyone but Gordon!!
  • John Force.. is he racing again?

    May be...

  • John Force is a 14 time champion that's who he is, and I don't think anyone in Formula 1 can say that.

YES he is back racing! take a look at the link which explains his comeback!
  • John who, racing where?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Force#...
  • I know he was in a bad accident a few mths ago.. but is he back to racing yet?

    Thanks

  • Octane has most of them, however, #1 is Watkins Glen: Pit wall is to the drivers' right, & the fuel fillers are on the opposite (right) side of the cars. If you look closely at some teams' road course cars, they've got holes for the fillers on both sides, but they move the fill tubes back & forth. Left side for Infineon, right for The Glen. They just tape over the hole on the side they're not using.

    Who are Dale Senior fans?

    May be...

  • Dale Earnhardt Jr fans are who they are.
  • <---
    check the name :)
  • I was a a huge fan... R.I.P Dale Sr...sure do miss you.
  • he'll always be my fav. driver.
  • Not I. Anyone can win a race if you put those in front of you into the wall.
  • I like him, But no fan!
    GO # 9 Kasey Kahne
  • I was a Dale Sr. fan, I loved to watch him go! RIP.
  • people who cant accept that its not 1996 anymore
  • I've only been a fan of NASCAR for three years, so even though Dale Earnhardt is a famous name, I really don't know much about him.

Not to be rude, but I've never seen him race so I don't really care about him. He's a man that has set an amazing record and I respect him for that.
  • Most anyone old enough to remember the greatest! Look at the current drivers who think the same thing!
  • I second that answer as well.
  • I am.
  • Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Sr. took a right turn at Daytona 2/18/01.
  • 7 time champ , enough said
  • Me...
  • I was!!!!!
  • dale sr was the reason i love racing.. he was old school
  • Dale Sr was an awesome driver. He has always been one of my favorites.
  • I don't want to be in that circle of people who through beer cans at Gordon for beating Seniors wins records. Or complain because their driver got wrecked when he was the most aggressive driver on the track Some fans even called in death threats to Sterling marlin after Dale was killed.

I am sure he was a good man but his fans leave a bad taste in your mouth
  • How did Newman end up in 4th?

    May be...

  • There were only 10 cars on the lead lap at the last caution. 6th thru 10th came in for tires. He was able to pass some cars in those 10 laps and finished 4th. Simple.
  • Newman was 11th when the yellow came out and restarted 7th behind Clint Bowyer... I believe he got 2 tires. He followed Bowyer to the bottom and was running about 6th when Bowyer and Hamlin got together and took both positions.
  • Stolen parts?
  • He stole positions from Jack Roush
  • Beats me I still cabt figure out how Jr. ended up as far back as he did.
  • They guys that took four tires (6th on) were able to do some passing. Could it have been something to do with Bowyer's crash on the last lap? Those guys were racing eachother pretty hard, and it got pretty dicey there for a bit. I know Bowyer collected a car or two and though they all crossed the line, they didn't finish where they would have. Maybe Newman was one of the lucky ones to get around that crash and finish in a better position.
  • I need someone to clarify the chain of events that led to him coming in 4th. From my point of view, it looks like this is what happened...
Newman was in 11th, I believe.
Newman pitted under the caution with Stewart and a few other guys, none of which were in the top 5.
Newman magically came out of the pits in 4th.

Now correct me if Im wrong, but isn't that what happened? If it is, what the hell am I missing here? Me and my friend spent a good 1/2 hour trying to figure it out. He's a Newman fan, and even HE came to the conclusion that this was some sort of NASCAR chicanery.
  • New man was running 11 th when the caution came out, the top 5 or 6 cars didn't come to pit for new tires. newman was one of them that did, during the restart newman and a couple of the other guys accelerated faster to the front of new tires. Newman was running 6 when bowyer(being the idiot that he is) hit hamlin and both went to the wall and newman just sled past them. Hamlin finished 5th and bowyer fell back and got what he deserved

  • I would really like to see petty enterprise win a race. I think they would be in good shape next year if they stuck Chad Mccumbee in the 45 car and, if bobby labonte leaves, they could stick a young driver ,maybe my favorite driver Reed Sorenson, in the 43 car. But, Reed would again be a senior member on a young team so I dont know how that would work out. Kyle Petty just doesn't want to stop racing but he has to learn that there comes a time when he should. Maybe he can split time w/ Chad Mcumbee next year in the 45 car like Mark Martin has been doing.
  • The unfortunate thing with this it is not just Petty. It also includes the Wood Brothers. Two of the oldest most trusted teams in NASCAR are falling on hard times, and not of their own making.
When NASCAR grew as fast as it did the "Wall Street" investors looked for new blood and new talent. The Jeff Gordon's,Tony Stewart's,Matt Kenneth's,even Jimmie J,and Kasey Kahane were cast into the public eye and with that the older teams were not as appealing to the investors.
The owners could sign 3 or 4 sponsors for one car because the Wall Street investors were telling them to.Which left the backbone of the sport(Petty,Woods,Yates,Donlevy....) with out sponsorship.teams that have fielded champions teams that have won hundreds of races combined, teams that help establish the sport. They lost to smoke filled boardrooms with deep pockets, glamor shots productions, and management that steps on the little man but pads the big man.
Petty is ,and will always be,an icon in NASCAR.It's a ashame that greed is costing the family teams so severly.
  • The Petty family moved Petty Enterprises.

There is talk of a "merger", but I think Richard just wants out.

    http://www.nascar.com/2007/news/features...
  • They need to get something going here in a hurry, with the threat of losing Bobby Labonte they are in big trouble.
  • Papabill nailed it. NASCAR has strayed far from it's roots as the sport of the working people. Might as well watch Indy cars the way things are going :^(
  • Yesterday at the race, there was mention that Petty Enterprises was in trouble. Has anyone heard if they will continue next year? I assume they will since they were moving their operation to Charlotte. It's a shame they can't build a car that can compete anymore.
  • I think the frustration of non-performance is setting in on them.
  • Petty Enterprises is indeed in a fight for its existence. They currently occupy Robert Yates' old shop in Mooresville, NC. If they can secure sponsorship for next year, they might make it, but they would need a good driver in the seat, and that's one car that not many people want to drive right now. Rebuilding a race team takes time. Let's give them a few months and see where they are at.
  • Would you laugh if one of these times carl edwards falls while doing his flip?

    May be...

  • It would depend if he got hurt. If he did not get hurt I would laugh about it all week. If he did get hurt I would not laugh!!!!!!!

    GO DENNY
    GO TONY
  • Yes I will, he will miss a landing sooner or later. But I hope he never gets hurt.
  • Jack Roush would probly blame it on Waltrip!!!!
  • i would chuckle a little probably but if he got hurt then i'd stop.
  • Age and gravity will catch up and it will make every sports blooper reel in the country. And as much as I like him I'd end up whizzing in my pants laughing.
  • oh God yess,, i saw sum funny video on utube were kid tries to get out of car hes foot hit the top of his car and then it wuz like sum Americas Funniest Video Moment,, If a pro Nascar guy like Carl Edwards did that i could cry from laughter
  • Yes!!!!!
  • I wouldn't laugh, he has missed a perfect landing a couple times, but I would not want to see him get hurt.... But I love the commercial with him and the AFLAC duck..
  • yes, but then i would feel bad and hope he's ok
  • yea but he probably would laguh too long as he dont break his cabeza!!!lolol go 99!!
  • That's just sick. You people aren't content just to see the cars crash, you want the drivers injured too :^(
I love seeing the 24 smack the wall (do it every week Jeffie!) but don't want Jeffie to be hurt.
  • no i wouldn't thats just mean i dont want to see him get hurt and i love carl :)

i read a fan fiction story once where that happened and even though it was fiction i felt bad for him
  • I would have to laugh. That is why he was told to flip on the grass. Grass does not hurt as bad as cement. But I would not laugh if Tony fell from the fence GO SMOKE.
  • i have to say honestly i probably would laugh
  • No, I wouldn't laugh if Carl Edwards fell while doing a back-flip.
  • No. I might laugh if Stewart fell off the fence at Indy though.
  • Not really. I can't stand Carl Edwards he is a dick...but I still don't wish bad upon any human being.
  • i'd laugh

not to mention that roush has made him do backflips on the grass rather on the hard track
  • Maybe only to laugh WITH him if he didn't get hurt. I am sure he would laugh too, if he didn't get injured.
  • I actually been waiting for that to happen I noticed it is done in the grass now and not on the track
  • You know I would.
  • Well it seems he knows what he's doing so I guess he's the only one laughing after his win today.
  • I'm waiting for the 6 week injury to follow, if I were Jack Roush, I wouldn't be too happy.
  • Sooner or later, something's going to go wrong and he won't complete the flip. I don't want to see him get hurt, but it would probably be at least a little bit funny. His insurance company and car owner must cringe every time he does it.
  • no I wouldn't, odds are he'd actually hurt himself if it failed.
  • id laugh so hard that amp would be shooting out my nose or id be spittin amp every were and just laugh laugh laugh an then see if hes ok an watch the replays in slow mo an you tube it like its hot
  • I would laugh so hard, I'd be crying if Flipper did that!! That would be great, (as long as he don't get seriously hurt) and that would more than likely put an end to the flips too.

Is Carl Edwards the driver to beat this year?

    May be...

  • I've kind of thought he was the driver to beat (so far) for quite a few weeks now. But, then everybody started talking about Shrub, and I couldn't understand why really. He was doing well, I'll give you that, but Carl has been dominate at the long tracks.
  • THAT HAPPEN TO WIN. LUCKY! RACES ARE NOT OVER YET.
  • Roush owns Texas. They are always good there and showed it today.
  • Thus far this season, I think its a close race between him and Kyle Busch. Besides Martinsville Kyle has been up in the top 10 every race.
  • it looks that way. he has really figured out the car on the longer tracks. that whole oil lid deal really hurt him and was blown out of proportion. at this point he definatley the driver to beat. its early but so far he is the only repeat winner.
  • So far it seems like it? Alot of racing to go though?
  • I think so. But according to all the commentators, Kyle Busch is.
  • He will be tough to beat. He is hot and has been since the start.

I think he is the one to beat.
  • Nope. The drivers to beat is the Hendrick boys and RCR. I'll throw in Shrub too, They have had much better runs.
  • I hope he is the champ this year
  • Right Now he is the Driver to beat!!!!!
  • he's already got 3 wins this year (California, Las Vegas and today at Texas) and should have 4 but his engine blew at Atlanta. He and his team seem to have really figured out the C.O.T on the mile and a half tracks.
  • yeah they have seem to figured out the COT car. He is doing great so far. Lets just see if it will last. Season is still young.
  • Should I repaint my '99 Spencer to match today's winner's car?

    May be...

  • I have a Jimmy Spencer piggy bank, but I don't like the white with the red 12 on it... got it for my 30th - he was my fave back then... I think I want to paiint it like the Burton Citgo car...
I opened the box carefully, what kinda glue should I use to put the box back together so it won't show?
  • Oh my............ If you want to I guess.
  • I wouldnt--The Jimmy Spencer Chips Ahoy #12 Diecast Bank is worth more than A Burton Citco Bank!!!!--- If it is a True Kids Piggy Bank do what your insides tell you to!!!!!

  • Does Speed TV Come in HD?

    May be...

  • As of this year it does. But your cable or satellite provider must transmit it in HD. Also, you need an HDTV.
  • Yes, but you have to have a HD TV to get any benefit from it.
  • Has Kyle Busch Stolen Someones Thunder?

    May be...

  • Well, I can't stand the kid. A checkers or wreckers attitude hardly makes someone a great driver. He only has five wins in his three year career. So calling him a top notch driver is a little far fetched. I think his attitude is horrible. Crying and throwing fits really has no place in NASCAR. He has no regards for other drivers. One of these times he's going to tangle with the wrong guy, and it's going to be Tony. Tony will set him straight. See, the real problem is where all his fans are coming from? I'm a Gordon fan, and I remember going to races last year and hearing Kyle get booed. The only reason people are paying attention to Kyle is because Hendrick got Jr, who "replaced" Kyle. If Jr. would of gone to another team, and Hendrick got some unknown driver, no one would be talking about Kyle right now.
  • Yes the Kyle bashers need to grow up and get a life. Kyle is the new Instigator, those of us old enough to remember Earnhardt's early years see how Kyle is just like he was. How many of these Kyle bashers will suddenly be Kyle's biggest fans after he wins a few championships?
    http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/blog/from...
Comparing Wild Thing to The Instigator, Kyle has only one less win than Earnhardt did in nine fewer starts. Go Kyle!
  • The big trade is becoming the joke of NASCAR...way to go KYLE, good luck at Texas...
  • I think Kyle Busch is earning his thunder. In racing you don't don't steal someones thunder you have to make your own. Also you don't have to win races to be thunderous.
  • JR is a decent driver, and his popularity is from his father. He is a good spokesman and is good for the sport. He has never been and never will be as good as Kyle. This kid just has raw talent and it's no knock on JR. But the JR fans of today are like the Gordon fans of old, most of which just jumped on the popularity band wagon. The majority of them are Sunday fans that don't know a lug nut from a lug wrench. These are the ones that can't take criticism, although JR has some true race fans that know racing. I know the thumb downs are coming, and I will take them coming from the Sunday fans that don't know a lug nut from a lug wrench.
  • I believe it could only be Joe Gibbs at the helm helping him in what Kyle does best, drive a racecar. Gibbs has been a leader for some time now and knows exactly how to motivate people into giving it there best. Joe also being a Spiritual person that he is maybe Kyle is leaning towards accepting God also and if he does that it can only help him in his everyday life and help him become a better driver. I think it has everything to do with Gibbs himself.
  • It seems by reading the answers on here lately that a certain group of fans can't stand him! I've been on here along time and a large group of fans find fault in everything he does. That group of answerers are fans of one driver!
Is it because Kyle not only changed teams, but that team also changed nameplates?
Or is it because he won first this season and the first time for Toyota?
I'm not a fan of either just wondering what's up??
  • I hear you . But these fans will never admit it directly and run and tattle if you don't answer withen the guide lines.
  • Im not sure why this certain group of fans cant stand Kyle Bush, but iv got news for them, they better get used to hate'n him for a long time, because hes here, and he's good!, probably the brightest young talent to come along since Jeff Gordon. I dont always agree with what he does on and off the track. As a fan i love the fact that hes aggressive on the track, and opinionated off. Thats good for the sport. I think ppl sometimes forget that he's still a kid, and so he's gunna make mistakes now and again, its all part of growing up.
  • Kyle hasn't stolen anyone's thunder, he has simply moved up and is showing his talents and skills. He will be a force to be reckoned with. Welcome to the Gibbs stable Kyle! We're glad to have you.
  • It sure seems he has!!!!!
  • There are lots of reason I dislike him. I declared him my second favorite driver last year, back when he was in the chase and was (sort of) a nobody.

I don't hate the fact that he's teammates with Hamlin or Stewart, that doesn't bother me much. Toyota... who cares? He's a good driver in his own way; compared to Jeff Burton or Mark Martin, he's probably the exact opposite - he is CRAZY!

That's one thing that bothers me - his driving technique. ESPECIALLY during his win at Atlanta, on the last lap when he was bumping Dale Jarret to get out of the way, when he had over a second lead... his impatience drives me nuts. Someone needs to tell this kid to just stay calm and just cruise.

Publicity has driven me crazy, too. Don't get me wrong, he probably deserves it because of how great his year has been this season, at one point leading all three NASCAR series, but give it a break guys! For the last four race pre-shows, Kyle Busch has been the main topic...

I don't think hate is the word for Kyle Busch, I think I'm just tired of him. During the race, the cameramen always jerk the camera away to watch him move from 43rd to 10th in two laps. Then next week, during the pre-show they talk about it, show replays 30 times an hour...
