Do u think that Toyota owners whine that NASCAR squeeze horsepowers down on Toyota?

May be...

  • ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

See 88 Dominates above! Well said!
  • LMAO...that someone whose the biggest whiner on here sits in judgement of Rowdy's fans.

Life's not fair, get over it.

But I gave a thumbs up anyway kiddo
  • UMMM how many horsepwers do Chev,Ford and Dodge have limiting? I dunno about NASCAR's rule!
  • i don't think so. I hate the rowdy fans complaining about the horsepower limit as if it's not fair. It's not fair to have everyone on equal ground so that the people (drivers and teams) actually do 100% of the work instead of 60 %.

Wow. What's not fair is to have one manufacturer ahead of the other 3 who had been fair and equal and then have someone from Japan come and take over and pretty much cheat.
  • Yeah, we're cryin' all the way to Victory Lane babay.

Maybe the big 3 should step up. Chevy gets it butt kicked by Toyota because the product is better.

I love how NASCAR's attempt at socialism went down in flames tonight.

I maybe a Gordon an, but GO BUSCH GO!

  • Who do you like better: Dale Jr. or Tony Stewart?

    May be...

  • dale jr 1st
    tony stewart 2nd =next year
  • Right now...Jr. only because he is in a bowtie...Next year, gonna be Smoke.
  • Tony
  • dale jr
  • TONY STEWART

    GO SMOKE!!!!
  • Junior he's commited to winning even if he has to play second fiddle to Gordon and Johnson
  • DALE JR because he is not a WHINER.
  • Tony Stewart for what orange20 said.
  • personality wise....
Dale jr can be boring at times with his interviews and sometimes just dosent have much to say
Tony, we all know has alot of personality and always has something smart to say it seems but whenever he is involved in a wreck, its never his fault...

driving wise, hands down tony stewart
so i would have to say Tony, he's moe straightforward and blunt
  • Smoke
  • Dale Jr. i think he is a awsome driver just had some bad luck with engines and getting spun or rear ended but ill root for Tony if is up front in the end and Jr. is in the back
  • tony all the way
  • Easy Answer 4 me Go Sm♥ke!!
  • well, i used to dislike tony very much.
& i've been a jr. fan for as long as i've watched Nascar.
but right now, i'm not sure who i like more.

(honestly..i dont like Jr. b/c of his dad, i didnt even watch nascar when his dad was in it!)
Jr. just seems to be a nice, southern/country guy that's pretty laid back. & he's a great driver.

Smoke used to be very hot headed..but it seems this year with Rowdy as the "bad boy" tony's cooled down a bit & i've been able to see a nicer side of him. i never realized how much he did for charity.
  • Dale Jr.
  • anybody who plays like that is just frustrated inside of themselves, It's like asking "Which of the competition are you afraid of?" You have to like all the drivers.
  • No doubt in my mind... I like Tony MUCH better than Jr!!

To me Tony will tell you "how it is"... Jr... he's too worried about maintaining his "image".
  • Tony Stewart
  • Tony Stewart by a long way.
  • Smoke Rules.
  • JUUUUNNNIIIOOOORRRRRRRRRRR!
stewart is like 7th or 5th on my list.
  • Dale Jr.
  • Tony as he has way more personality! There are more reasons but that is one of the main ones.
  • whew....loaded question..like them both and pull for both...it's a TIE!

so sorry that you all did not like my answer but I do not tell a LIE!....hey that rhymes with TIE!
  • If Danica Patrick switched to Nascar, do you think she would succeed?

    May be...

  • I think she would succeed - but can't you imagine Danica and Tony Stewart getting into it? lol
  • i dont think she would....look at juan pablo, he may not be with the best team but he ran ok, this guy has raced for top notch teams, he won the indy 500 and a couple of formula one races...so you look at danica so hasnt really ran that great and is now with andretti green racing which is one of the top teams in Indy and has only one victory to show for it, i dont think if she did jump in a Stock car she would succeed too much...maybe top 20's but NASCAR is hard and tough
  • No-
because I don't think she could take it. I mean racing in the IRL is hard but in Nascar it's grueling. I don't think she could last at Bristol or some of the other tracks that are hard to tame like Darlington.

The IRL cars are also alot smaller and easier to control than the beastly machines in NASCAR.

And if she would prolly throw a fit if a driver just moved her out the way.

I cant imagine what would happen if Her and Tony Stewart got together, are even Kevin Harvick cause thay would just knock her lights out.

And not to mention that other drivers that have tried doing that have not had much success

Tony Stewart being the only exception
  • Just keep her away from Ray Everham.... he has a way with the ladies!!!
  • No. I don't think Danica has talent at all. The only reason why she is at Andretti Green right now is for all the money that she is earning them. Basically the same reason why Jr. is at Hendrick. They're money makers. Danica is cry baby. She gets angry over every little thing. She hardly ever runs in the top 10 and all she does is scream into the radio about how the car won't turn. And what was she so mad about at Indy with the whole Ryan Briscoe thing? It was a racing deal. He didn't do it on purpose yet she tries to go up to him like they're going to get into a fight. Does she honestly think that a guy is going to hit her? Such a baby.
  • no, the cars are to big and heavy for her to handle
  • Don't just say yes or no... please explain why you think she may or may not succeed.

Do you think it would depend on the team she would be with... or do you think she's good enough of a racer to make it work with whatever team she may end up on?? (IF she were to switch to NASCAR!)
  • Better drivers than her have tried.
  • It would take a couple years and a good team. Look at the other open wheel cross overs and frankly they're better drivers then her. But she is still a young driver and may be able to make the neccessary adjustments.
  • No...Yes...uhh...wait....lemme explain...
It depends on what is considered success.
Is she considered a success as an IRL driver? No, but yes. As for her ability ability to finish well (wins, top 5's, top 10's), I'd say no - quite frankly, she's just not that good a driver. She's not a bad driver, but she's not championship caliber. But as for her popularity & marketability - a big screaming YES! Let's face it - guys like a hot chick in a fire suit - and that she is. (Yeah, I realize that in the world of "hot chicks" she's only medium grade, but she wears a fire suit & drives a race car and the others don't.)
I think the situation would be very much the same if she were to move to NASCAR. She wouldn't fare that well as a driver, but it wouldn't really matter. She'd be popular & marketable.
I also think she would have a very difficult time with the "rubbin' is racin' " concept. She'd blow a gasket the first time someone bump drafted her.

Now, if you're looking for the "hot chick AND top-notch driver" combination - take a look at NHRA's Ashley Force. WOW! I'll leave it at that.
  • No, because as the others have stated, she's not really that great of a driver to begin with.
  • Even if she was good in IndyCar she wouldn't be good in NASCAR. Look at the Open-Wheelers this year. they're actually talented in IndyCar. In stock cars, they're as good as crap.
  • No Way...she would just cry every time and cuss like a sailor and then cannot take criticism when it is dished out to her......just look at her record now...she would not be a good fit (no pun intended) with Nascar due to the fact she cannot get along with anyone even her own self..what an image buster if she came to Nascar..and nope, she is not that good

    woohoo, must have hit a nerve..thumbs again..sorry
  • Let's be honest. Danica Patrick is just an average driver who happens to be very marketable. I wouldn't be surprised to see her jump ship, and I think Patrick will need a good car and crew for her to succeed. Look at former Indycar driver Dario Franchitti. He was expected to be a decent driver this year, but obviously Ganassi Racing isn't a very competitive bunch. He doesn't even drive anymore. Sam Hornish Jr., too. He is a 3-time champ, and he is struggling every week. They both are very very talented drivers obviously, but poor equipment and rushing to the Cup series has taken a toll on the drivers.

Bottom line, these guys bit off more than they could chew. I say put Patrick in the ARCA series or Truck Series before going to Cup. Franchitti and Hornish should be doing what Scott Speed from F1 is doing right now. Spend time to develop.
  • I don't think women fare to well in NASCAR racing. It's like being shoved up against a wall and being held there. It's not "fun" like the IRL or F1 where you get to turn left and right. NASCAR racing is more of a job, it's a lot harder. Even the guys in F1 and the IRL are a little more flagrant than the guys who race in NASCAR (that is if your any good) So unless Danica doesn't mind the pressure of being "held up against a wall" against her will. She can't hang. When a man gets "held up against a wall" he just goes into an instinctive hunting mode from evolutionary standards, and "fights". Fighting being the instinct of a hunter, the basis of a man.
  • No she would not make it. She cant handle the IRL much less coming to Nascar with all its great drivers. The 43 that start each race every week is better than Danika. She doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to drive in Nascar.
  • No she cant even be sucsessful in the easier to drive indy cars

she would be a mid 20 or lower every week
  • Yes !!...........
  • not at all.
she's not even that great in Indy.
she's not talented enough. she's overrated.
  • Anyone else sick of Tim Brewer?

    May be...

  • I mean good lord we know how brakes work, and what a steering wheel does.... I hate when they break away from the race to explain a frickin' spring!!!
  • Tim Brewer and Rusty Wallace have gotten on my nerves since the day ESPN went back to broadcasting the NNS (Busch series) last year (and the annoyance naturally followed to Cup).
And, I also HATE when they start explaining things in the middle of the race. Under caution I will tolerate it, but I want to see the race!!!
Luckily, DJ is going to save me from Rusty during many races :)
  • No not really cause i like learning new stuff.

But sometime they can get annoying talking about things we all ready know
  • I do not like any of the cutaway cars no matter who the broadcaster is. I do not like Rusty as an announcer but I hate listening to DW. At least when Rusty talks about any of his family he calls them by their name not like DW and his little bro Mikey.
  • No.
Got sick from the Miller Brewer a few times as a younster though !!!
  • ESPN must think a bunch of idiots watch...
  • no
  • What is your all time favorite quote by a NASCAR driver?

    May be...

  • “God created bumpers and… bumpers were made for bumping!”
    Dale Earnhardt
  • "OH SH*T, WALL"
  • Back in the mid 80s when Bill Elliot was the fastest in NASCAR, a reporter asked Darrell Waltrip about Elliot, and Darrell said Bill was going too fast. The reporter asked Bill what he thought Darrell saying that and Bill said, "Darrell doesn't even know what fast is".
  • "shake an bake"
    -Ricky Bobby
  • "shake and bake"

    Ricky Bobby

(if you get this, then give me a thumbs up so i will know!)
  • "I'm gonna hit 'em. It's their choice whether to save it or wreck it."
    -----Dale Earnhardt Sr.

"That's the most pathetic racing tire I've ever been on in my entire professional career."
    -----Tony Stewart at Atlanta

"When that happened I wanted to kill him.... As I was spinning I was thinking that I knew this was gonna happen....I would have actually been surprised had he raced me clean."
-----Dale Jr on Kyle Busch and the Richmond incident
  • When my boy Robby Gordon through his helmet at Waltrip and waltrip goes "That's just rude."

Or when Robby called him a piece of $hit
  • You win some you wreck some...Dale Sr R.I.P. I have a lot more I could put on here, but I'm going to bed...nite all..

    Go Dale Jr & hms
  • I like Carl Edwards' non verbal body language "quote" when he executes the back flip to show his enthusiasm for the entire sport.
  • "I wasn't trying to wreck him, I just wanted to rattle his cage."

    -Dale Earnhardt Sr

Some of today's drivers would say this the opposite way and not think twice about it. That's the difference between Dale Sr and one young driver in particular that he's always wrongly compared to.
  • “I'm too lazy to work my real job. I love what I do. I've been doing it for 26 years"

    Tony Stewart
  • It's not a matter of IF he's going to wreck, it's a matter of WHEN
    - Kevin Harvick on Montoya
  • "DUHH"

    -Kyle Busch
  • "How do the gauges look?" - Jeff Clark (asking about the oil and water temperatures under the long caution period)
"Nice. They're silver and they all have nice little red needles…" - Dale Earnhardt, Jr

It's just one of those "wowww... haha" quotes
  • "You win some, you lose some, you wreck some." - dale sr.

"If you think I'm a great driver, just wait till my little brother comes along." - kurt busch

"Hopefully those guys will do well and get a runner-up." - kyle busch talking about denny hamlin and the jgr nationwide #20 team in a pre-race interview at charlotte.

(btw, kyle's "good wishes" for those guys came true - denny did get a runner-up - and kyle won in the braun #32 and broke jgr's winning streak).
  • It doesn't have to be by your favorite driver. Mine is by Dale Earnhardt Sr.

"Second place is just the first place loser."
  • mine is by dw,"kyle busch is the only driver i know that can go three wide by himself"
  • Kevin Harvick's Greg Biffel is an idiot line
  • "Build the wall higher, back up the fans, take off the plates and lets get to racing" Dale Sr, on restrictor plate racing.

Can I do two? #18 #1 fan did. LOL

On breaking the speed record Bill said "That was fun but I wouldn't want to do that again." I do remember the DW comment and still laugh about that.
  • this ant by a driver but
you win wreck or both kyle
your the bigest dork geting stuck in the mud like a jack@$$
how you like the extra hp and better bodys kyle
could you be any more coky saying your teammates were gona be runer up
  • "it wasnt my fault, it was the pitstop team"
  • ''Crazy Old Man"- Carl Edwards on Mark Martin.
  • who likes nascar
  • "When it comes to buying food or buying parts, you go hungry" Dale Earnhardt Sr. RIP.

    go Jr.>>>>>
  • " I got a fast hot rod" Rusty Wallace.
  • "Second place is still a loser!!!"
    RICKY BOBBY
  • "I drive the viagra car" Mark Martin
  • The one you picked is my favorite as well. :D I had more respect for Dale Sr. than I do for any of today's drivers.
  • "GOODYEAR can't make a tire worth
    a cr@p". --Tony Stewart.
  • "boogty boogty lets go racin boys"
  • Have a question about the allstate 400? help please?

    May be...

  • i bought my hubby tickets to the allstate 400 for his birthday
    they are paddock
    sec 15 row EE
my first question is are they ok seats?
and second it has a little stub on the bottom that says
    "not good if detached"
    ADMIT ONE
"gate addmission to the grounds only"

does this mean we has admission to the grounds as well?
    thanks to anyone that helps!
    im clueless =/
  • id say from what the maps say those are pretty decent seats by the start finish line.. kinda high up well it doenst really make alot of since to sell you a ticket just for the grounds obviously you have a seat because they gave you a section and row number
  • I've been to the Brickyard those are great seats, you do not have infield or pit access, but for viewing the race they are great seats..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • The paddock is the section in front of the start finish line. I am assuming row "EE" is 31 rows up (A-Z being 26 and then AA, BB, etc....). If that is correct, they are awesome tickets!! Just sitting in the paddock is good, no matter the row.

Your ticket is good for the stands only. It does not include the infield.
  • i pulled up chart from speedway and looks like ok seating..2nd..stub is removed by the attendants when entering the gates to your seats and they for the grandstands not infield areas...but you still can go and visit all the exhibits and vendors around the track..Good Luck and have a GREAT TIME!
  • Jaynarie is right on. Here is a seating chart you can look at. Have fun!

    http://indianaracing.net/indianapolis-mo...
  • doesnt matter now, your going to the show and any seat in the place is good really

What do you all think of Smoke's new ride for next year?

    May be...

  • Looks slick.. just how they're supposed to be.
  • I think it sucks because Office Depot left Edwards for it.

No actually I think it's pretty cool.
So now there'll be more Red at the races like before Jr's got a green car.
  • i'll get used to it
it looks to much like carl edwards
    i like the #14
  • well we will see if the great smoke will go up in smoke or continue his winning.
I really think he should stay with the orange because he started that color and it was
very easy to find. Plus it was like a corporation has a brand, the orange was a brand for smoke. Report Abuse
  • I like the number on it... that font for the 14 looks sweet... I was hoping for a darker red though...
  • I love it 100% more then his old car.
  • They must have changed pictures because there was no picture of the car when I clicked on it.

Oh Ok. It was on their news page. Looks better than the orange to me.
  • It should be a smooth transition.
  • The new #14 looks great! Although I'm not a huge TS fan, it'll be a little strange not to see that bright orange #20 Home Depot car out there...(or will I, Joey Lagono?) . But still, If I can find Jr in the pack at Talladega in a green/blue/white/cammy/whatever car, I can find Tony in a red Office Depot/Old Spice CHEVY! Even if I do mistake him for Carl Edwards a couple of times!
  • "Smokin"...love it
and the Number 14 suits him, after Foyt..WTG!
  • I like it and I truely from the bottom of my heart wish Smoke
the best in his new ride next year!
  • Sweet. Thanks Troy. I'm so happy I don't have to wear orange anymore. No offense to people that like orange.

    Have a nice night!

  • Is PRES. OF JR NATION secretly a Kyle Busch fan??

    May be...

  • I don't think,.........................No, No,....................Well,...........
it is possible,.............................Bu... I don't think he is,.............
    ..............I'll say No............................ Yeah No.

Mr. PRES. OF JR NATION, I sure hope you know I am joking.
  • Are you secretly a moron?
  • you get'em pres.
we know who the man is
  • Not answering this one..not by a long shot...no more troll wanting to start trouble for me today

wtg Pres and all you others..love the answers..tell it like it is
  • Ummm, I am going to go ahead and say noooooo.

And people say Jr. fans give Jr. Nation a bad name. Geeesh.
  • most jr fans secretly root for kyle thats there only chance of rooting for a winner
  • Well if he was then wouldn't he change his name to President of Prick Nation?
  • I bet he is and is denial. Do you think so???
  • Wow between you and Emperor both using me in your questions today, I feel very twice as much honored...and to answer this one the same way I answered that one...

    Meee..meeee.meee.

    Ohhhh, oh, oh, oh, ohhh.
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way.
You always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strain.
A beautiful face without a name for so long.
A beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?
    You're everything I wish I could be.
I could fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be.
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Oh, the wind beneath my wings.
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
so high I almost touch the sky.
    Thank you, thank you,
thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.
  • Yes!!

    Running and ducking for cover!!
  • geekluv above me sounds like she is describing Dale Sr. as well. Nice compliment
  • i won't speak for him or anyone else, but this rowdy's world citizen and #1 fan is also a fan of junior. i wouldn't say i'm a member of "junior nation" but i can appreciate junior's talent and how he conducts himself on and off the track. and i'm happy to see him win - not as happy as when rowdy wins of course. but since rowdy can't win'em all (at least not yet), i can be happy when others win - some more than others...
    ;-)

  • Who thinks Nascar and Indy should share a weekend at the same track?

    May be...

  • yea
  • It would definitely boost Indy's ratings. It would also put rubber down on the track for the NASCAR race.
  • Cool idea, but it'd never work. There is just simply not enough room for all those semi's, RV's! And NOBODY would want to be too far from any of their equipment.
  • It would be an awesome spectacle, but I'm sure it would also be a logistical nightmare. And while we are wishing for better things for Indy, wouldn't it be a nice change of pace to see the Cup guys run the road course at Indy, instead of the snoozer of a race that the Brickyard turns into most years?
  • Yes.....at the same time.
  • Tony George proposed this same idea several years ago. He wanted to run an Indy race and a NASCAR race on the same day at Michigan. Last I heard, it still might happen. If it does, I hope they do it during the August weekend, cause that's when we go every year.
  • I'd say heck with the NASCAR and just show the Indy racing.
  • MY HUSBAND WOULD CREAM HIMSELF....
  • It's a great thing at the tracks where there is enough room for all the haulers, motor homes and whatever else needs to be there. What a hassle that would be to get everyone 's equipment and cars all together the track.
I think TBone has the right idea of an Indy car race Friday night and the Cup race Sunday. Question is will they ever do it.....doubtful. =o`)
  • I think there would just be too much going on. Imagine the logistics of it all.
  • Well you might get your wish, Auto Club Speedway (aka Fontana) is working on this idea, and they are working on a road course within the track, so Rolex DP series can run also, I heard something like, either Trucks or Nationwide on Friday night. Rolex DP race and IRL on Saturday, and Sprint Cup on Sunday, with the DP and IRL running that would bring a lot of people to the track, people out here like open wheel. But this could not happen until 2011 or 2012 It would be great but at least the IRL people have not said a flat out no, but that's a lot to put on in one weekend. But we might get more than 80,000 at the races. It would be awesome, but I say its gonna take a major miracle to get this to happen. I do have a couple friends on the board of directors for the track, they really want this.. Only time will tell..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Good idea in theory, but it would be a nightmare to arrange NASCAR practices around Indy qualifying!
  • No because nascar and indy are unamerican...
  • IndyCar fans would be like, "NASCAR shouldn't even have been here in the first place!"

I bet they'd be pretty angry. Which is somewhat understandable. They don't want those "Taxi-cabs" anywhere near their "Flying feathers".

But I would like to see it though. It would the the world's largest weekend sporting event(s) ever!!
  • Its not a logistical nightmare at all. Indy and the truck series already do this every year. There is nothing difficult about it besides politics. I suggested this on the forum once before. I'd love to see an INDY night race on Friday then a cup race on Sunday .

    Its a win win situation.

A double header will not work though nor would it be interesting.
  • whilst i agree with the fun we could have watching the interaction, if they were on the same weekend then the following weekend i would have to mow the lawn and help with the shopping, i only get away with so much at the moment.lol
  • Never happen NA$CAR would not share money with anyone but themselves
  • I think it would be awesome to see the different series drivers at the races and see how they interact with the drivers from the other series, not to mention the awesome racing both series can showcase. Indy has already said no because they don't want to be second rate to Nascar since they would have to race on Saturday instead. Should Indy change their minds?

Even better, make it a double-header on Sunday.
  • Juan Pablo Montoya or David Ragan...?

    May be...

  • David Ragan all the way!!!
    =]
  • David Ragan!!
  • Who will win first?
  • Hey news flash dumb *** Montoya won at Sonoma last year.
  • Well Montoya won last season.
    But for this season....Ragan.
He's been way more consistent. While Montoya hasn't been doing so good.

    Plus Ganassi's team is struggling.
    While Roush is doing alright.
  • Montoya won at Infineon last yr, and a Busch race in Mexico City, with Ganassi's struggles this yr and the ole Swapacrew-chiefitis that he has I just do not see Juan doing it unless he is lucky at the Glen, I say David Ragan has a good chance to win a race this yr..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • David Ragan
  • david ragan
  • Hopefully JPM.

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • Montoya already won dude....
    But I favor Ragan..
    He's a cool guy
I think he'll rise within the next few years...
    The next Kenseth, Edwards, Biffle?????
    Or better...Gordon, Johnson???
    We'll soon see
  • Montoya, next road course.
  • I'll have to go with DAVID RAGAN.
  • I like David Ragan to win before JPM.
  • David Ragan if JPM doesn't wreck him first.
  • This is a tough one. I've met David Ragan and he is one of the nicest guys I think I've met. He's not the best driver out there but he's a cool guy. Then you have Jaun Pablo he's won one race (unfortunately I had to be there to see it) and is a major hot head. He did earn some browny points after he wrecked Kyle Busch. But the cool thing about it was that he came out and said he did it. We need more guys with that kind of mind. If you're talking about who's a better driver, Jaun wins hands down. If you're talking about who's a nicer guy then it's definitely David Ragan.
  • david unless juan gets close enough to wreck somebody and get the win
  • Gordon #24 fan posted a good article...?

    May be...

  • I hope he retires soon.
  • the man has alot of options...He's already part owner of a team and, even though i don't like the guy personally, I can't see anybody with a driver opening in any form of racing turning Jeff Gordon down if he wanted to drive for them.
My main guess is, he'll do whatever he thinks he'll enjoy.
  • i think he should start his own team in the sprint cup series. i think that fits.
  • Thanks for posting the article
    I just saw your question...
Referring to your question, I think he'll do part-ownership with Hendrick Motorsports, do some Dirt Track races and other stuff mentioned in the article
One thing its hard to see Gordon doing is starting his own team...It's just really unreal to see Jeff Gordon doing that...
But before he retires a 5th Championship and a couple of more wins is expected by his fans (including myself)
After that, he's gonna spend his life with Ella and Ingrid
    Man, he deserves it!

What do you think he will do after he retires.

    Good find Gordon #24 fan!
  • With the wife he has I would spend a lot of time at home.
  • Good article. Im betting that Jeff stays at home alot with his family when he retires to be with his family. I know that what I would do if I were him. :)
  • Have that Jeff Gordon Motorsports that he has in NASCAR 09. He already owns Johnsons car.
  • Good article!!! I think Jeff will continue to do some racing not in the cup series but he'll probally still do some kind of racing and then he's got a family now and there's nothing more important than that!!
  • After he retire, I think he'll take all sorts of racing part-time. Things he couldn't do while racing NASCAR full-time and of course, he'd going to be spending more time with his family.

What do you like about DALE JR as a driver----not personality wise?

    May be...

  • "What do you like about Dale Jr. as a driver---not personality wise"?

That's the sort of legitimate question I was referring to in your honoring. I don't see anything wrong with it. And I wouldn't see anything wrong with a Jr. fan posting the exact same question about Rowdy. I see no reason why so many are so defensive.
The more defensive you get to such a question makes you look as though you have no answer to what you like about his driving skills.
    I'm just sayin'.....

*My answer? Jr. is one of the best restrictor plate drivers in the series. He always has been.*
  • He is agressive when he needs to be, and not agressive when he doesn't, and is smart enough to know the difference!
  • He is cute. I like him because it's so easy to like him and everyone else does. Also I liked his dad so automatically I started liking Jr. Also I like his down to earth boring personality. His driving well I don't really pay attention to it.
  • Not that I need to justify why I like him to the likes of you but I just want you to know that I'm not a mindless freak just following the crowd I'm a big girl and can make up my own mind without the help of anyone else no matter what you seem to think! so here are just a few and that's all I'm giving you period but here are a couple reasons I like him. He is a good, clean, smart, respectable driver with a never give up attitude so win or lose I'm his fan and I like him!! Wether it meets your approval or not!!

edit: guess what I'm a true Jr fan and I gave an answer and you didn't have them listed and you know what else? You can take that list and stick it straight up your a**!!!
  • 88 All the way I am with you. Huck is not worth a ----!

Add to the list, not that huck can read. He is a down to earth guy that races hard and plays hard. He has earned his seat in a race car and his place in the garage area. I accepts resposibility when he is wrong and does not point fingers when others are wrong. Even though his comment about Kyle hitting him was funny he showed class. And races people clean. (Like the great Awesome Bill did)
  • i like him because his is dales son and he came in winning some races, his car was nice too when he drove for BUD, its hard not too like him, but alot of people make him seem like he is this and that when he is not, he's just another driver but i like him, you have to like someone if you like the sport
  • Nothing !!
  • because he's cool
  • I enjoy watching him crash and then all of his fans getting mad at the races.

That's what I like about him as a driver.
  • Thats no fair I think you took all their reasons for liking him :( :(

He has 0 aggression or passion to win, lets people pass him without putting up a challenge, whinesm ore than any other driver on the radio, once spun someone out at bristol on purpose to get a caution. THose are some of the things that i DO NOT like about his driving
  • I got so bored reading your so called question, I'm too tired to answer now. You really just don't get it do you?
  • The best out there!
  • I like him, and mind you I have many favorite drivers, because he works well with his pit crew.

    I bet Cody has nightmares.
  • Why do you like him as a DRIVER?

DONT say you like him just because of his personality, because NASCAR should not a popularity contest if you ask me. BTW he has a pretty boring one right?

DONT say you like him because he is cute

GIVE reasons why you like him as a DRIVER

Dont say you like him because oh everyone loves him so I do to, or I like him because of his dad, he is hot, he has a zillion fans. Just tell me what you like about him as a DRIVER that makes him so desirable to cheer for. You know thats what true fans like isnt it--a good driver?

If you say he is a GREAT DRIVER...explain WHAT makes him great and better than the rest if you think he is the best.
  • Hey a few to many didnt you just describe his personalitY? Read the quesition again, it said what do you like about Jr's DRIVING. Obviously not much.
  • if you really think he is a horrible driver why then is he secound in points standings and finishing in the top ten in most races that dont sound like a bad driver to me
  • Who is Buckshot Fisichella?

    May be...

  • i know only 1 fisichella.....Force India driver...Giancarlo Fisichella from Italy.....who started his career as an f-1 driver in 1997...
  • Who is Jeff Gordon?
Fisichella started f1 in a minardi in 1996
  • Nascar driver?
  • Will Terry Labonte still be remembered for being a great driver for Hendrick or?

    May be...

  • In my eyes he will always be remembered as a champion. He has only stepped in and ran for a few teams that needed help getting to the field. I think what tarnishes a drivers legacy is a driver that stays running a full schedule in sub par equipment and doesn't know when its time to hang it up.
  • Or will his legacy be tarnished for driving for sub par teams. He drove for Hall of Fame racing for a few races a couple years ago, he's driven for Michael Waltrip Racing, he's driven for Petty Enterprises, and Jayski.com announced that he will race at Pocono next weekend for Gillette Evernham Motorsports in the #10 car, a car that has been sub par. Will these moves, that he did to help other teams, ultimately end up hurting his legacy in the sport? Or does he not really have a legacy in you eyes?
  • I will always think of him as a great driver no matter who he is driving for!!
  • A great driver, and not just for Hendrick. He won his first NASCAR championship in 1984 driving for Billy Hagan, has two IROC championships, and has set many records in his career.
The fact that he's willing to help other teams, even in sub par equipment, just shows what kind of great racer he is.
Obviously, nothing will hurt Terry's legacy in my eyes. He's my favorite driver and always will be.
  • Terry Labonte is and will always be a champion in my eyes.
  • I feel once a champion always a champion.
  • Terry is a Champion no matter who he drives or subs for..so why is it going to hurt his legacy in the sport?? it is not nor ever will be! He was and still is a class act!
  • Terry Labonte will be remembered as a champion.
    At least in my eyes..
  • He will be remeberd as a champion.

he won a championship in 1984 and another in 1996.
thats 12 years between the two.

Just thought i would add that stat :)
  • As my part he will be remebered as a respected driver, a Champion, he was voted one NASCAR's 50 most Greastest drivers back a few years ago. He's an awesome driver. He's also driving for Petty Enterprises this week in the Cup maybe because Kyle Petty is not in the top 35 and he has past champion provisol. Other than that he's an awesome driver:), sweetie!
  • I do and will always remember him as an awesome driver.
  • He should be remembered for when he was in good equipment and at the top of his game. He has a legacy that will not be tarnished by his more recent rides and results, at least not in my opinion.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • DW, Dale Jarrett, and Bill Elliott all struggled in their final years but when I think of Bill, I think of the '02 Brickyard 400, Dale, the Daytona 500 and 1999 season, and DW, his championship. Same with Terry, I will always think of him as a champion. The first race that comes to mind is the '03 Southern 500, his final win.

Edit: The only reasons he is in those sub-par rides is because he's a champion, he gets the car in the race and helps them get better.
  • Hmmm him in the #10 @ Pocono? That's news to me.

Nah, I don't think people will remember him for his latest driving duties. Least those who have been following or know his history winning 2 championships ('84 & '96) & that he essentially retired a couple of yrs back.

    Least I won't.
  • Do any female fans flash at nascar races?

    May be...

  • I was in Indy 2 years ago and they were flashing in the stands.
  • No way !!
  • I saw a set at the NH summer race last year in the parking lot, while tailgating. Her belly stuck out more than her boobs did. To this day, I cannot get an erection.
  • aye winter glory...i get free tickets to the Vegas race...i'll be WATCHING =P....i'll be there with greenbeans-casserole.
  • i hope so cause today is my day
i will not let a troll interrupt it neither
    so now i shall relax
  • i haven't seen anything like that yet, but i keep my camera handy when it does happen. there's nothing wrong with a little female nipple action every now and then.
  • Their red necks aren't they of course they do
  • hey I go to the races(I'm a girl byw) and I want to see it all(wink wink)
  • best answer if you do like the ladies who arent ashamed to show off their body.
  • I don't flash personally at a race.

The best rack that ever showed up at a Nascar race was Pamela Anderson, she was Grand Marshal
    http://www.theinsidegroove.com/pics/race...

I bet you most wished it were legal to flash because you know she would have.
  • i bet but its not pretty
  • It happens at the campgrounds...I've seen it firsthand. I was pretty hammered that night though, so I don't remember most of them, but I'm pretty sure I enjoyed the show!

Good or bad, you have to give the woman credit who aren't ashamed of what they have...after all, it's all in good fun!
  • Not generally at the track, but at the free campground at Talladega you can see all you want and even some that you don't want!
  • yes, at talledega big time! Especially when you camp out before the race and if the race gets red flagged during the race..it's awesome!
  • I only go to the Vegas race.

**What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas**
  • It's like Ron White says...........Once you seen one set of boobs..................you want to see them all !!!!
  • I agree with Amp!! I went to Dega in April and about half way through the race (i actually believe it was during a red flag)you see every single guy stand up and turn around, they said there was this hott blonde lady flashing everyone!!
  • Have you ever been infield? It's all boobs, no shyness. Back in the day I have to admit I was the bead goddess (*blushes*) after gravity starts to set in the airbags need not be deployed.

I think it must be the cool thing to do these days, I went to see Da man.....my favorite.....Kid Rock (yes, I do love him) this past weekend and the gals in front of us had the 'girls' out to enjoy the show, the WHOLE show.
  • There's a race going on? I was too busy admiring the headlights that aren't stickers.
  • I'm sure they do,

and plastman2001, you might want to learn to spell before you insult people, you just made yourself look like "1 of dem rednecks!!"

    They're not their HAHA
  • Who else thinks that Kurt Busch Is only racing badly because he is on penske?

    May be...

  • I thought Rusty was more consistent in the "Blue Deuce". That's just my personal opinion.

And don't anybody "Edit:Tina" me either. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
  • Personlay I do believe that thats the only reason he has sucked in the past few years. Is that the reason or am i just going nuts. cause he was amazing on roush.
  • as a busch brothers fan at first there was the light of possibility as kurt moved into the blue deuce. but it became apparent rather quickly to me that he had made a move which did not help his performance. it might have helped how he got along with his owner and teammate, although you couldn't tell it by how he and his crew chief interact.

penske needs to do something, and do it quick. the captain may have money and sponsors galore (man does have an empire), and incredible results in all of his other programs, but his nascar program - particularly since the COT came on the scene - has been lagging big time. i think he should probably lobby honda to become their first team in nascar... you know it's coming... honda won't just sit by and watch more of the american market swing to toyota...
    ;-)

EDIT: Tina (sorry, couldn't resist ;-): didn't rusty run most of his "good years" in a pontiac (for beadle and then penske) and in a ford (for penske)? after penske moved to dodge in 2003 he had one win in three years... so i agree with you and mark - he was more consistent, as long as he wasn't in a dodge... so "thumbs-up" for both of ya!!!
    ;-)
  • Not me... I think he lost all the extra down-force created by his ears!
  • As a Kurt Busch fan, I would like to believe that statement. Dodge hasn't had much sucess recently and other than Kasey Kahne, only Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch have picked up wins for Dodge this year. Busch's performance is likely linked to Dodge more than it is Penske, because Pat Tryson and Kurt Busch seem to get along well. He was amazing at Roush, and I miss those days. Go Kurt and Kyle! Maybe we'll see brighter thing when his contract is up at Penske!
  • racing runs in cycles and luck at best...that said, Kurt is getting better, Dodge has had it a little rough, but who has not in this new car, folks are still trying to figure the thing out on the different tracks. I am more than sure things are going to work out well for Kurt in the long run
  • Yes, it's apparent that Roger Penske puts most of his resources and funding into his IRL team, they're doing quite well, as opposed to his nascar team. Add that to the fact that the dodges have been "off" most of the season, and with his string of bad luck that he was encountering earlier in the season and you've got the predicament he's in right now.

Kurt's a much, much better driver than his current status would lend someone to believe.
  • Nah it is Dodge altogether. Dodge has hurt themselves every since being in racing. From the first year until now they have introduced a new body style and or nose piece, then came the COT and here they go again... It has been a long hard road for the Dodge teams. Yeah, Kahne had a couple wins, anyone can have a good day once in awhile...
  • He should have never left Roush

  • Are toyotas being punished unfairly by the timing of this mandate?

    May be...

  • My dady is bigger than your daddy. Na nan nan nana nana
  • YES...this kind of thing shouldve happen WAAAAY before in the beginning of the season. I agree with you 100%....just for that i hope Kyle comes in second to JEFF GORDON...if Gordon can't win it...than i'll go with kyle. =)

    I also agree with Trego-topolopolis
  • I'm guessing and only guessing, but I would think that this was announced a few weeks ago to the teams and it's just now come out to the public just for the fact that time was needed to test these things out.

There's a ton of things that I find unfair about NA$CAR, but 2 wrongs dont make a right if in fact no notice was given. But it should seem pretty obvious that NA$CAR done the wrong thing out of the gate and I do hate mid-season rule changes.

I'm glad it's changed, but like many others, I dont wanna see IROC cars, and it's unfortunate that this is what the sport has come down to.
  • no, i'm not even talking about how toyotas in the nationwide series are having to cut down their horsepower because of a rules change that was controversial to begin with.

what i am talking about is their timing - don't you find it incredibly unfair that the change is mandated for THIS weekend and the announcement was made today? at the beginning of the season each team knew they were going to be running a tapered spacer and have been working all year long to adjust - not just the engineers but the drivers to the new feel of the car. carl edwards talked about it a lot, how he was having problems "moving his marks" to match the capabilities of the new, less powerful car this year.

now all the toyota teams have already sent their cars to indy - i'm guessing they'll arrive by tomorrow - and they've had NO opportunity to make any adjustments to those cars based upon the new horsepower capabilities and no time to test in them.

do you think nascar should have at least given more warning?
  • Yes, they should have given them warning BUT they have been living on borrowed time already. Some might suggest that the advantage they have had all along is much more unfair than the abrupt enforcement of these new rules.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • Yes they are.

They built a good engine with in the rules so let them keep it and tell the competition to just get better.

I mean Chevy and Hendrick dominated last year and NASCAR didn't do a thing about it....

But then again there only doing this in the Nationwide Series.
  • Sounds Like Tina Answered The Question, Plus A Little More. You Wanted An Answer and You Got One.
  • If you mean do they need more time to make an adjustment then

    ********NO WAY*******.

All they have to do is add a tapered spacer (restrictor plate) to the engine and NASCAR rules says that NASCAR will provide this plate.

How long does Gibbs need to bolt on a restrictor plate? Until November..???

NASCAR needs to approve engines and there would be no restrictor plate. Ford needs to submit their designs for a new engine before September. Dodge too.

Read the article at the bottom of this page and it gives the exact dimensions for the spacer. http://www.nascar.com/2008/news/headline...

    -----------

"At all Events, unless otherwise specified, all engines with a cylinder bore spacing less than 4.470 inches must compete using a tapered spacer with four (4) 1.125-inch diameter holes. At all Events, unless otherwise specified, all engines with a cylinder bore spacing of 4.470 inches or more must compete using a tapered spacer with four (4) 1.100-inch diameter holes. Unless otherwise authorized, the carburetor restrictor will be issued by NASCAR."

"Eventually, all teams that upgrade to new engine packages will be subject to this rule modification," said Robin Pemberton, NASCAR vice president of competition. "Over the years in our sport, we've taken steps on numerous occasions to help maintain a level playing field among our competitors and we will continue to do so."

    -------------

I still say no way. Carl Edwards had to work within the guidelines didn't he? It was unfair to him too wasn't it?

Also how is it a "horsepower penalty"? I haven't seen anything that says there is a penalty. All I have seen is a deadline for Toyota to reduce their horsepower and NASCAR just says "Bolt this plate on". How unfair is it that Chevy has had to race all season with 17 to 21 horsepower less? (Milwaukee and Chicagoland tests results not to mention the 30 hp advantage in the Cup series and also Xtra HP in the truck series.)

    -----------------

So that you don't get confused this is part of your question and I quote YOU....

"what incentive does chevy have to change to the R07, then have to install the stricter restrictor?"

My answer is this. Chevy has already tried to get Nascar to let Chevy use the R07 engines.

I will not add anything more to that because I know it will only confuse you. Do your homework. Research the facts and you will not be at odds with everyone else.
  • Well, I agreed with you until I read Tina's answer.
  • lol with you and Tina, you two are as bad as my kids.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest.....It's all good, those JGR boys won't let that slow them down one single bit. You'll see.
Just sit back and enjoy the show, man!!
  • You know I am a Jr fan and I drive a Ford. The make of car on the track is pointless it seems. NASCAR trys so hard to get everybody even it makes me want to puke! They should have given the teams time to adjust but they have done this before and will again. They will keep messing around until they are all running Hondas and burning methanol. It is as bad as bringing a new tire to the track that is not even close to what was used before or tested.
  • Well Toyota shouldn't even be in Nascar this is an AMERICAN sport, and Toyota only has fast cars right now because they have an unlimited budget, so I don't care what they have to do they should either get out or shut up.
  • Don't worry Rowdy, Tina hasn't even changed an oil filter let alone pulled a spark plug in an engine to see if it is running lean or rich. Yeah all the Chevy boys and gals are hoping this will cause every Toyota on the track to blow their engine... Too bad JGR and the rest of the Toyotas have smarts on their side, they don't have to cheat...
Maybe Chevy could get some of their Mexican workers, from their Mexico plant, to come work for HMS and show them some pointers...
  • Yes, it is unfair. It's not Toyota's fault everyone else can't keep up...
  • No more unfair than Toyota getting to race with an advantage half the season.
  • What YES said. I just answered a question before this one, it's to the point lets just have NASCAR run 43 IROC cars each week. The France family has already shot itself in the foot with these ridiculous rule changes and ghost yellows.
  • NASCAR is the new IROC. Hopefully it will last 10 more years. Then the babies that cry about Toyota will have their wish.
  • No, the other 3 teams were punished by the timing of this. It should have been weeks ago.
  • The rules in place on day 1 of the season should be the rules on the last day of the season. A mid season rules change doesn't seem fair to me.
  • NASCAR has lost so much credibility in my eyes that I could care less who gets rooked next.
  • It is unfair because the only reason Toyota has more horsepower is because when they came to cup their new engines were the latest generation in cup. Other teams don't have enough funding to buy and build the new engines that came standard to Toyota. If they are going to punish them on such short notice, why not make the new engines standard for every cup team.
  • Yes Rowdy. I won't explain but yes. Well I'll explain a bit. Look at Roush a few years back and DEI . They did nothing until the season ended. Some fans and teams now have a "witchhunt" out for Toyota. JGR did their homework. Well anyway for your sake and any JGR fan it won't matter. Let them do it. I'll enjoy Saturday night when they win again. lol

Who loves Dale Earnhardt Jr And/or Jeff Gorden and/or David Rudimand as there favorite Nascar Drivers?

    May be...

  • To answer the question: NO. Stop asking the same thing over and over again. We said this to you when you were asking that other question about being a girl and wanting to drive, over and over again.
  • I'm not really a fan of any of them.
If I had to pick one of those three, it'd be Gordon.
  • Jeff Gordon of course
  • Me!!!!!!!!! :))

    Go Dale Jr.!!!
    JUNIOR NATION!!!
  • Apparently not you because the only one who's name you can spell right is Dale Earnhardt Jr.

But no I don't I like David Ragan and Carl Edwards.
  • why are you asking this question again. You just asked it 10 minutes ago, and you still spelled the names wrong for 2 of the drivers
  • Jeff Gordon fan!
  • I like Nascar. I like Jeff Gordon and Dale Jr. I do not like David Ruderman, just something about him.
  • I love Dale Jr and I like Jeff Gordon!!
    Don't care for David R.
  • I'm a Jeff Gordon fan!! David Reuitmann is pretty cool, I like him a lot. A few other favorites are(not including retired guys) Brian Vickers,David Ragan, and Jamie McMurray.
  • Not a fan of Jr, and defintely not Reutiman. I do like Gordon, he is in my top 5. My favorite driver is Jimmie Johnson. Go 48!!
  • True or False?

    May be...

  • A more appropriate question would be..

    Who cares?
  • True, he won one at Cleveland in 1990.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • In case anyone is still wondering, the answer is TRUE.

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • True. He won in 1990 at the temporary track at Burke-Lakefront Airport in Cleveland. Brundle remains the only British driver ever to win an IROC race. He also finished 3rd in the IROC standings.
  • true................ he did in 1990
  • true
  • True!!!!!! He won at Cleveland in 1990.
  • Former F1 driver Martin Brundle won an IROC race in his career. True or False?
  • true cleveland 1990
  • true
  • Cleveland in 1990. I remember that race. I watched it from the pits. Lyn St. James kept standing in front of me :).
  • what nascar # is he
  • That is true.
  • True
  • Who was killed in a tyrrell at watkins glen in 1973?

    May be...

  • francois cevert?
  • Albert FranГ§ois Cevert Goldenberg (February 25, 1944 in Paris вЂ" October 6, 1973 at Watkins Glen)
  • Best answer points will go to first correct answer posted..........good luck
  • Why are there so many older guys in Nascar but no one over 37 in Formula 1?

    May be...

  • ahh... you took the job to do this age survey huh?
    ahh.. we see.
  • Old people race safe cars.
  • Because by the age of 37, most of them realize how bad F1 sucks.
  • I think it's just because NASCAR is a more popular sport.

Scott Speed left F1 to race NASCAR
  • Because they get sick at an early age of the redundancy of
F-1 and Nascar is much less boring.

EDIT-It looks like you answered your own question as Frank A.
  • Is it because nascar is less physical and doesn't require the same degree of reflexes?
  • F1 is all about youth, look at Lewis Hamilton he is just 22 and its his 2nd yr..most F1 drivers have retired or fallen off the face of the earth by 37.. David C is retiring at the end of this F1 season. But Nascar is getting younger all the time, I doubt we'll ever see Dale Jr or Smoke driving until they are 51 like Dale Jarrett did.. You can not really even compare Nascar and F1 they are totally different. Kyle Busch says he wants to give F1 a try, well dude you better get over there before you are 25 or 26.. Also T-bone gave some real good comments as well about F1, yep those guys are not big at all, I think the American driver Eddie Cheever was 6'1 thats huge for F1.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Formula 1 drivers still drive the car and are a major part of winning or losing which requires quick reflex's Nascar the driver just steers a Little to the left with the hope the crew got the set up right. Especially with the COT Nascar drivers are mostly out of the equation for winning or losing
  • To the original question-asker (can't think of a better word): Yes. You're fairly right.

F1 is much, MUCH more physically, mentally, and financially challenging.
NASCAR drivers don't face too many problems that require a quick reaction time - mostly due to the fact that the cars are pigs and can't get out of their own way as it is.
F1 drivers also face G-forces MUCH greater than NASCAR drivers; so physically, F1 drivers need to be in perfect condition. In NASCAR, if you can fit through the window, you're good.
As far as financially, NASCAR is expensive, but not nearly as much as F1. The entry fees alone for an F1 race are about $26,000 USD per race... just to race one event - that doesn't include the million-dollar cars, team salary, R&D, testing, etc. Here in the US, NASCAR teams are much cheaper to maintain, allowing entrepreneurs and older drivers to get involved.

F1 is superior. It is automotive engineering at its best. NASCAR just happens to be more popular because SPEED Channel and the broadcasting stations jam it down our throats 24/7.

*Note, I say this as a race fan. I am a big Jeff Gordon fan and watch NASCAR weekly, but I just happen to have an "international" taste when it comes to racing.

    EDIT:
For an analogy, Formula One is like the NFL. Exciting and fun to watch. To be competitive you have to be young and well-prepared. Past the age of, say, 35, it is all down hill.

NASCAR, on the other hand, is like PGA Tour golf. Sometimes it gets exciting, but only at the end. Otherwise, it is boring as hell. And if you have the means and the desire, you can get into the sport.
  • Because Formula 1 is boring and older people are lulled to sleep much easier than younger people....zzzzzzz
  • Because, here in NASCAR we realize the value of age and experience.

In F1, if your looks start to go, your gone.
  • because a monkey can drive one of them things
it takes a man to drive nascar
  • OK heres the real answer since Im a fan of both(all). F1 is the most popular racing series in the universe. Its about young, handsome and articulate men that can speak multiple languages. F1 teams will consider the above mentioned over talent at times. In other words they are poster boys for the sport. NASCAR is less centered around those attributes I mentioned. For god sakes you will not see Dale Jr or Mark Martin posing in speedos and spandex out in Monaco or Rio. You're assesment is just plain dumb and you are an F1 reject.

And quite frankly you have to be small and light to race an F1 car.
  • personally, i think you've got that backwards. watching nascar drivers and how fast their hands have to move over a greater area leads me to believe that their reflexes have to be pretty damn good.

but i will admit that after listening to montoya giving "advice" to rowdy regarding his F1 test later this year, it sounds like the physical preparation needed to handle the g-forces might be enough to "push" older drivers out of formula one (pun intended).
    ;-)
  • As you get older you also get well lets say fatter and it's not so easy for a 220 pound man to get in a F1 or Indy car i would think.
  • 37 is the average age that F1 drivers start dying off from sheer boredom. NASCAR is doing it's part to save some by allowing them to join NASCAR .
  • Nasar is very physical...F1 blows the racing is so spread out its not even funny. talk about a boore
it looks as if you answered your own question anyway so what was the point of this excersize?? you should prob hang out in the F1 forum.
  • Because NASCAR is an American sport, and Sports stay with a man longer in this country. Especially when it comes to Racing. It means more to "us". This country was based on the automotive industry/revolution, (and it probably suffers from it too). So my answer to your question is: Dedication to the sport.

    Who likes Will Power?

    May be...

  • Never actually met " Will ", i think i met his brother " Horse "
  • no thanks i already have plenty
  • Never paid any attention to him race but maybe he will move over to the V8 Supercars and Dale Jr get a chance to go against him while he's over in Australia.

He's and Indy driver now right?
  • Will power gave me the strength to ...

    1. Quit smoking after 30 years.
    2. Get through my wife's sudden death at 43.
    3. Get through the off season without going mad.....

So yeah, I like Will power.
  • i like his name, and that he won both the last ever champ car race and his first ever "official" IRL race when the two series merged earlier this year at long beach. and i like that he won his first champ car race at the first las vegas grand prix through the streets (or parking lots) of vegas.

i kind of wish he and scott speed would end up on the same team somewhere - i can just hear it now "power and speed will be starting from the front row..." or an small-team owner saying "now that we have both speed and power, we should be able to qualify for a race every once in a while..."
    ;-)

but besides that i really don't give him much thought.
  • I think he's got potential. I like Marco, though. Will's not a nascar driver, try posting this in the IRL section, kay?
  • Can't say that I do as I have never heard of him.
  • Honestly, Never heard of him. But I do like Austin Powers.
  • I was wondering about a driver?

    May be...

  • It was Sarah Fisher, she is a great gal, she put a ton of her own money in that car..I'm happy she is gonna have a sponsor for a couple upcoming races.. She is not flashy like Danica, she is a great gal, great heart, and a dang good driver..I just wish she could get a full time good ride. Or a decent sponsor that won't bail on her.

    Go Helio
  • Sarah Fisher Owner/driver. She will be back for 2 more race this year. She just got a new sponsor for her car. Go to www.indycar.com there's an article about her getting new sponsors and stated where she will run the two race.
  • Sarah Fisher, I remember she used to race a lot but never got nearly as much tv time as Danica. She probably doesn't have the funding to run the whole season.
  • I remember watching a race earlier this season, it was a female driver. I think it was the Indy 500 I was watching, she was wrecked and visibly upset by it. I think they said she was an owner/driver. Her name was Sara, I haven't seen her since. Anyone know why?
  • Yes Winter that was Sarah. She put her entire life savings into getting into the 500 this year only to be taken out by another drivers misfortune. The good news is she just got a new sponsor and will be entering the IRL races again. Sarah is a good girl. I was visibly upset myself after she was interviewed.
  • yeah Sarah Fisher. She was very upset when she crashed at the 500 b/c if she couldn't afford to crash if she wanted to race at most tracks later in the season. She was in debt I think for a while, but she'll be back for Kentucky and Chicago.
  • Her name is Sarah Fisher. Her team doesn't have a large budget and I THINK they only had one sponsor for the Indy 500. And when you race on a shoestring budget, destroying a race car can keep you from racing for a while.

Thats the best way I can put it.
  • She didn't have a sponsor or a lot of resource like the other racer but she is going to be in an up coming race
  • Yes, Sarah Fisher. She got caught up in a wreck with Tony Kanaan, and Tony even said she cried in the ambulance... poor Sarah. Just before the Indy 500, her sponsors bailed on her. I believe she spent the time sponsor hunting. She'll be back in time for the Indycar race in Kentucky, and another race, which I forget at the moment, with the sponsor being Pennzoil. I only wish her the best. She's a real driver. She has my respect.
  • Does anyone think that Danica Patrick might need counseling?

    May be...

  • I think she does. Also, she causes more trouble than any other driver out there. You look at how many she has taken out and wrecked (on pit lane alone) and you often wonder wtf is going on inside her mind without realizing her own mistakes. She will be the first to go cuss someone out for this or that and never realizes that she has done some of the same things in her time out there! It just doesn't make any sense at all.

On a side note I must say that I do not find her attractive in the least bit. She has no body(unless you like a diving board) and a face like a little rat. I really do not know what others see in her for that matter.
  • Milka Duno needs to be suspended by IRL because she can't drive.

Danica is not the first to say this.

And sure make this sport as boring as possible... and don't let the drivers personality show... remember this is cars driving around in circles, and its the driver personalities that make this sport worth watching.
  • Milka showed her she is the boss. Smacked her with that towel and Danica laid on the ground and started quivering. Danica is a mess who needs counseling.
  • shadouse is right. Danica went there to start a fight. Then after she got punked by Milka she retreated and started crying like a baby...."all i wanna know is if you see me" haha...
    One simple question my A-S...
And President of Jr Nation ......maybe you handle someone attacking you by just listening and aswering the question...but I am glad that Milka put Danica in her place.....
  • OH REALLY? How about the Bush Brothers, Robby Gorden, and Bobby Allison to name a few.
Don't confuse anger with a psycosis.
  • Yes, she does. I know she says she just wanted to ask her a question, but asking another professional if she knows what she is doing is trying to start a fight.
  • Patrick does NOT act any different that any other male driver in similar circumstances.

    Famous racing hotheads:

    Senna
    Mansell
    Hunt
    and countless NASCRAP drivers.

At least Patrick doesn't stand at the side of the track shaking her fist or throwing her helmet at other cars.

But because she's a woman, we get a bunch of morons focusing on that.
  • No, she asked Milka a simple question and then it was Milka who went ballistic. This is being blown way out of proportion by the media.
  • PRessure to win? She just won a couple months ago...

She wanted to ask one simple question. Had that goofy named girl just listened and answered the question, it wouldn't have been the big deal everyone is making it out to be.

Many a driver through the years have confronted each other...it's a part of racing. Always has been, always will be.
  • Danica Patrick won her first IndyCar race in Motegi, Japan. It's on youtube if you want to see it.

Driver confrontation is common. I've seen many confrontation when I watch IndyCar racing. Unlike other drivers danica is always under the microscope.

You have to watch the video of the practice where Milka blocked danica 2-3 times. Danica slowed down and backed off but she caught up again with the slow driving Milka Duno and wouldn't let her pass. Milka should have let her pass because she's way off the speed. When danica finally got the chance, half way through the pass Milka went down in and almost made contact with danica's car.

if not for her country's oil company Citgo, I don't think Milka will get a ride in IndyCar. She pose danger to other drivers by driving slow. She has to train at Indy Lights not IndyCar.
  • Danica is a competitive driver who hasn't quite learned to control her temper yet. That doesn't mean she needs counseling. It simply means she needs to remember that she is on tv and some things are better left until after the cameras are turned off. She is a lot like Tony Stewart. It took him many years to learn that lesson and he is perhaps the greatest all-around driver ever.
  • I've said it many times, Danica Patrick is the most overrated driver EVER! Her childish behavior at the Indy 500 was a disgrace. Just what exactly did this woman think she was going to do to that guy? She KNEW the officials would keep her away from the other driver. It was all for show. This latest incident is just more of the same. Perhaps Danica should stop blaming other drivers and work on her own skills.
  • Danica is one of those hot chicks that thrives on contraversy. Once her publicist tells her that it is a negative, I think she'll be ok. Yeah, she needs to stop. She's hot, but she'll lose her popularity if she keeps up this BS. Looks can only take you so far. People will start to heckle her soon and she'll realize it's not worth it. A couple more of these explosions and I'll start rooting for other drivers. Nobody likes a contentous b-i-tt c-h.
  • There have been many competitive drivers out there, but can't recall many (outside of Tony Stewart),who've had as many confrontations with other drivers.Perhaps the pressure to win is getting to her big time.
  • 21.7.08

Do you think Danica or Duno was out of line?

    May be...

  • Danica was out of line.
  • I think Duno is a talentless hack who has no business in an Indycar... She's a talented hack...... They should send her and the Citgo Team back to Chavez and Venezuela.......
I wish Danica had cleaned her clock.....
  • OMG!! Why are we still talking about this?! Why were we ever talking about this?! It was such an insignificant spat. We wouldnt have even heard about it if it had been two of the men. Wasnt there a IRL race run yesterday?!!
  • Danica was out of line for even going down to her pit area.
  • Simple solution.

    Kiddie pool, bikinis, and oil.

    LOL

Come on, you were all thinking it, I was just the one who said it.

Where's my dime, it cost me 2 cents to answer, dammit!!!!!
  • Duno! Totally. If u watch it , she is the 1 throwing the towel in Danica Face
  • Women! I would have loved to see a cat fight. That would have been cool.
  • That was all over the indycar.com forum. There has been too many version of this story at other sites that portray Danica as the bad person even said she spat on Milka and entered her pit box and got escorted by officials. Danica never spit on Milka's face and never entered Milka's pits. The different versions I read are really funny. Actually Danica was right to get upset. During practice (there's a video on this) Milka Duno block Danica Patrick several times when she tried to pass. Danica held back several times because Milka was running so slow (about 6 seconds slow). When Danica finally got the chance halfway through that pass she went down in and almost made contact with Danica's car.

The only thing that Danica did wrong was go over and talk to Milka. Actually she was not even inside Milka Duno's pit box. Danica was calm when she asked Milka "did you see me?" twice. Milka said I see you or I saw you and threw a towel at her twice. Danica was still calm hand clasp. The only time when Danica said a foul language was when Milka threw the towel on her face. Milka's crew then shielded her after she threw the towel.

Milka is wrong here. Danica calmly wants to know if she saw her but Milka got physical and threw a towel twice.

She said she saw Danica but Milka didn't let her pass. She suppose to give way since she way too slow (6 seconds). Actually Milka shouldn't be driving in IndyCar. She pose danger to other drivers by driving slow espcially on the ovals. She should train in Indy Lights. I don't know how much training she has in car racing. Danica and Sarah have been competing since they were young.

Milka's 4 masters degree will not help her driving skills. She needs to do a lot of training if she wants to be an open-wheel race car driver but not at IndyCar.

If not for her country's oil company, Citgo, sponsoring her she wouldn't get a ride.

***Off topic: someone mentioned "catfight" in one of the post. I don't understand why women fight are called "catfight". Actually male cats are the one that fights. They fight for their territory when they sense that other male cats are marking/spotting their territory. :) **
  • Duno was out of line she should have just listened to danica
Danica knows what she talking about
  • Duno reminded me of a spoiled little Jr High School Brat she is a perfect example of how humans can progress physically and not mentally.
  • Again all I can say is PIMPHAND
  • duno
  • Once again Danica was getting in someone's face. Same old story, new ending..........I loved that Duno didn't back down and threw a towel at her.....twice.
  • I think they did it for the media. It sure was convienient that there were camera crews and alot of media present
  • Definitely DUNO!
  • All I seen was Danica trying to ask a question and the other one acting like a brat. So Duno was out of line.
  • What a name!! Milka Duno! LOL

Anyways, all Danica wanted was an answer to a very simple question. Ole girl completely blew it out of proportion. She needs to learn to talk it out. Danica obviously wasn't there to cause trouble, she just wanted to ask her a simple question..

Now...where's my dime?! Come on with it!
  • WHO REALLY CARES....I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE TO FIGHT IT OUT IN A MUD PIT DRESSED IN THONGS AND WESSON OIL!!!!!!
  • Danica was down at the other girls pit box crying around. She was out of line.
  • I think Danica initiated the tiff by going over to Duno. She was basically picking a fight. What Duno did was wrong but Danica should've taken it to the officials, not trying to handle it on her own.
  • Neither, Danica had a legit beef with Milka's driving and Duno had a legit beef because Danica went over to confront her in her pit box.
  • Danica seems to go looking for trouble. Alot!
  • whats this question doing in nascar questions it belongs in open wheel
  • I think Danica acted like a spoiled brat.
That being said, why are there so many Danica questions in the Nascar forum. She does NOT drive NASCAR.
  • Danica did like any other racer does. She only confronted another driver.

Duno on the other hand was the one acting like a brat. Duno started throwing things at Danica. Danica just threw her hands up and said "What the hell?"....

I can understand Danica wondering why Duno could not have a simple conversation about their controversial issue. Maybe Danica should have just walked up to Duno and popped her up beside the head.

    Cat Fight...Meow..!!! PFFFfffffffffffff......

Ashley Russell was pretty hot though...

    Wait wrong ID...!!!
  • Wha-a-a-, eh,eh,eh, "I just wanted to know if you saw me out there"? Yeah, Sure you did full of yourself. Don't get me started on her!
  • Opinion on nascar coverage?

    May be...

  • TNT and ESPN are the best in my opinion. Although Larry Mac is the best from FOX but FOX is the bottom of the 3.

I am really tired of DW speaking just to hear himself talk and that boogity boogity crap is ridiculous to say the least.
  • FOX is the best period. I can't stand TNT or ESPN's "draft track" thing.
  • Out of those I like FOX's coverage the best but ESPN could be a lot better this year because of dropping Rusty and adding DJ. We will see. ESPN has the best video of any of them.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • Dosent really matter seems like all any of them want to do now is stir the pot and hope to see a big fight, certain drivers are starting to get pretty fed up w/ it one in particular is Stewart, You can tell everytime they talk to him he's just groaning under his breath
  • Fox!! But they still have way too many F'N commercials...
  • FOX is the leader. No doubt about it. When TNT has the race I just mute the tv and listen on the radio. Can't wait for Daytona again.
  • FOX i enjoy their coverage quite a bit. I like how they express their feelings and they really get emotional and that is really what this sport is based on. ESPN's coverage sucks badly. When there is a wreck they don't jump on it they wait until it's almost over and then they say someone spun out. I dislike ESPN really. TNT had good coverage a few years back I always enjoyed hearing them but now they stink. I wish they had NBC with Benny Parsons. One of the Best Commentator ever and will be missed. So to shorten it i have to say FOX.
  • FOX all year long
    tnt sucks
we getting ready to find out what the espn freaks are gonna do
i hope better than the nationwide races they cover
  • I like bits and pieces of each of the networks coverage but I prefer ESPN/ABC over all of them.
  • I like TNT the best because of how much emotion they put in. Fox seems to favor Kyle Busch.
ESPN is as boring as hell. Jerry Punch sounds bored. And the have so many commercials and they don't seem to really care about NASCAR.
  • Doesn't matter. They all have good and bad points. As long as its free I can care less.
  • All three of them are ok.
  • FOX? TNT? ESPN?

    Which do you prefer?
  • FOX
  • Fox by far.
    TNT blows
ans ESPN is ok, but they have to get rid of Rusty, hes as good in the booth as Steve is in a racecar. (i swear the only thing he can think of to say is "aero loose aero tight aero tight aero loose" ughh)
  • Too much. I don't need to see three days of coverage for every race.
  • fox to me is the best. the only thing tnt does that i really like is get kyle out of his car. don't get me wrong he is a great guy but his time has pasted as a top driver.
  • I prefer Fox, but it's really only because they are the lesser of the three evils.

I like Wally Dallenbach on TNT, but overall their coverage is terrible. I'm just hoping ESPN steps it up this season over last.
  • HOW MUCH COVERAGE DO YOU NEED TO COVER 4 LEFT TURNS PER LAP ?
  • FOX!
  • They all get on my nerves! Sometimes don't you just want to say-Will you please just shut up, I'm trying to watch a race here! Why do they need 3 commentators anyway? Then you got your former racers who know everything & then you got motor mouth Mac, please just give me a break! If I had to pick 3 to put together, I'd go w/ DW-WALLEY & RUSTY. Just a thought.
  • I was pretty much disgusted with the TNT coverage.
Fox was pretty good. I am looking forward to see what ESPN has in store for us this year.
  • Nascar is a farce, it's so commercialized it's not funny, it has to be the most boring form of racing there is.
  • FOX
  • Fox Rules !
  • FOX... rules...

I got real irritated when the announcers didn't point out the cause of the 29 car's wreck in the Nationwide series. They failed to point out that the 5 car took the air off the spoiler of the 29 because the 29 had to check up.

Those other sports announcers need and education on NASCAR. They leave the fans completely uniformed of the true facts and stir up problems with their ignorance of the sport.

    FOX is number one.
  • I like them all really, like T-Bone said as long as it's free and has NASCAR in it I am happy.

Fox is great since I am a big DW fan, I miss the Boogity's!

TNT had the limited commercial coverage and that was nice on those days and I like the folks that report from the pits on TNT as well.

ESPN well you got Dale Jarrett now. I love it when you get a driver in the broadcast booth that isn't a hot head or know it all and I think DJ will bring knowledge & style to the events. He's a great guy.
  • Is It Just Me? .. Or Does Danica Patrick Need To Grow Up?

    May be...

  • Did anyone see the situation which caused Danica to approach Milka? It was a safety issue ! Milka has in numerous occasions ride the top of the track and cut down to the bottom edge even though there is faster cars coming up behind her. She needs to let the faster cars pass her safely. she doesn't consider a possible wreak in the works. At times she is dangerous, not only for her but to the cars that is about to lap her. Someone on the IRL needs to talk to her on her actions. Seen it once and she'll do it again. just hope no one gets hurt. I think Danica did the right thing. Milka was the one out of control.

Seriously! I root for her to win, place or show every time she gets into her car and I think it's great she is competitive in most of her races. With that being said .. she needs to stop running around trying to confront other racers after things happen that every racer goes through. Yes she is in the spotlight and has a bullseye on her back because she is a woman. Doesn't she realize that her rants and tirades only make the bullseye bigger and make people think of her in a negative way? What do you think? Tell me how you feel! I can take it!
  • The public likes a driver with fire. Look at Paul Tracy, Helio a few years ago, and quite a few more.
Nascar has gotten to be a yawner since they have this thing about confrontation.
  • I think she needs to stop getting in the way of people faster than she is.....come on people, get real....she's not on the pace in what she races in and what she races in isn't the top motor sport anyway.

She wouldn't get to hold the sun shade in Formula One...she should think herself lucky she has a drive at all since it won't be lasting long.
  • It's not just you, BUT it's my opinion that she did a good job of holding her temper. If that little #*$&% had thrown a towel in my face, TWICE!, I'd have gone over that wall. She just wanted to know if DUNO had seen her and acted intentionally when she cut her off. Racing fans should know that Duno's on track actions were WRONG. Off track, she was very immature as well. Danica had every reason to expect an apology.
  • I've lost all interest in her.All she does is blame others for her poor performances.

I asked a Q simular to this one and some one gave a really great answer. Danica would go up to a male driver, grab there arm and yell at them in their face, but she didnt do it with Milka. Milka even threw a towel at her, not once but twice and all Danica did was stand there going "What the hell???"
Danica didnt think anyone would fight back and was surprised when Milka showed she she wasnt going toput up with it. Danica went from trying to act all tough to "I just want to talk to her."

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
  • Yes. Shes having a terrible season and her emotions are starting to show. She should concentrate on passing more then 3 cars per race and not worry about the other drivers.

I have had enough of her.
  • You have to see the video of the practice (where the blocking occurred) to know why Danica got upset at Milka Duno. Danica caught up with the slow Milka and tried to pass but she got blocked. She backed off and slowed down but she caught up with the slow Milka and wouldn't let her pass agin. When she finally got the chance, halfway through the pass Milka went down inside and almost made contact with danica. Milka supposed to give way since she' way slow. danica was actually calm when she asked Milka if she saw (2x) and Milka replied she saw her and got physical and threw a towel twice on her face. danica didn't get violent. She was still calm and left. She only said a foul language when she got thrown with a towel.

Watch the video of the practice and judge for yourself and then watch again the confrontation. Danica was calm and didn't enter the Milka's pit box nor spat on Milka. milka was the one who became vilent and got got physical. Milka should go to Indy Lights not IndyCar. Ana Beatriz is much better than her.
  • Danica needs to grow up! She is only a star because of her looks. No other driver with her record would be on a major racing team. She was thrown off the cheerleading squad in high school and is just continuing her bad behavior.
  • Danica is a royal pain in the butt.
She was using the "Do you know who I am?" card when she was still in FA.

She would go a long way to learn some manners and humility.
Right now she is acting like a spoiled little brat and her looks cannot overcome the ill will she is spreading at tracks everywhere.

I did think it humorous that Milka was not about to put up with her crap and Danika did not have clue when she picked a fight with another woman who did not have to stand there and take it like the gentlemen. Her poor little Danika crap has worn thin. She went down the track looking for a confrontation and as with most little punks backed down quickly when the target of her anger was not about to put up with it.
Frankly I wish she had climbed the wall and given Milka a better chance to kick her butt. I suspect that Danika came to understand very quickly that Milka would kick her butt pretty soundly.
There is little doubt among most of us that given equal equipment Milka would win. Cathrine Legge won in FA's as well, something that Danica was unable to do. Maybe Milka should do an FHM spread as well and thus sell her looks to get the fast ride. It certainly;y was not Danika's skill.

BTW there is NO RULE that a driver give way DURING PRACTICE. It is the responsibility of the faster car to get by cleanly.
  • yeah what she did now was not really bad considering the rest of nascars behavior but i think based on her consistant behavior in the past she needs to grow up!
  • She's won all of ONE race of any consequence in 17 years. If she were a man nobody would be writing about her. The only thing I want to see involving Danica is her next Sports Illustrated photos. At least she's hot. That's the only way she keeps my attention. Overrated..BIGTIME!
  • I think Duno is a classless little poser.
  • I do agree with you. Danica is also way too conceited
because of all the press she gets.
  • These stories get blown out of proportion because she is female. Had this been two of the guys, you would have never heard about it. If she were being a softie, people would just say she's isnt tough enough to run with the boys. I have no problem with her behavior.
  • It was blown way out of proportion and I think Milka is the one who needs to grow up.
  •
