When the 2010 Sprint cup season starts how many Ford teams, Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota teams will there be?

May be...

  • A very difficult question indeed. I guess a lot would depend on which manufacturer will be willing to spend money on racing.
  • We aren't in 2010 yet. Don't worry about it.
  • More than likely the numbers from 2009 would be the same in 2010 unless the big 3 are forced to pull out due to financial woes or if some teams switch manufacturers during the off season.m30 thread
  • What is the difference between NASCAR.?

    May be...

  • Nothing. Both are boring as hell and never turn right.
  • thats a boys q eh mask?

    not a feckin clue babe

    xxx
  • it's "Franchitti" and the differerence is:
    NASCAR is an American sport.
I have never rated Dario because I'm not too hip on Indy, but I appreciate all forms of motorsports.
  • Two different kinds of cars and racing. I never rate anybody I don't know.
  • And Indy Car, and do you rate Dario Franchetti.
  • I'm not sure but Dale Earnhart Junior is a no talent bum and the idiots that delete questions about him suck..
  • The rules are different.. Indy cars are half the weight, with much bigger tires.. The lighter car is much more "twitchy", requiring a much lighter touch by the driver.. Stock cars have roofs, making it much hotter for the driver.. Indy cars are "aero" dependent.. That means that they depend on the wings, and other downforce devices for good for good handling on the race track.. It is said that Indy cars generate so much downforce, they could drive on the ceiling at any speed over ninety mph.. Stock cars have wings, but they are much smaller, and only add a little stability, generating very little downforce.. This allows Indy cars to go much faster than stock cars on the same tracks.. Driving any car as fast as it can go, is a very difficult thing to do, both mentally, and physically.. It just requires different techniques..
Dario is a very fine driver, and would have done well in NASCAR, if he would have worked for an owner that could have secured sponsorship willing to to stick with him long enough to develop those techniques.. The discipline needed to drive an Indy car is almost the opposite of that of a stock car, and takes time to adapt to..
  • Indy cars are fast and boring. There's no action and only like 5 drivers can win. Nascar is slower and more exciting. There are a lot more crashes, and more competitiveness. Dario Franchitti sucks as a Nascar driver, 2 out of 10, but as an Indy Car driver, 9 out of 10. He'll probably win the championship this year. 1000th answer, WHOOOHOOO!
  • oh no here we go again
  • Indy Cars are built as race cars from design to track. At one time NASCAR used stock cars from manufacturers. Although that is no longer true as the cars are built as race cars they still label them with production card model names and think of them that way.claymoore securities
  • Which Current NASCAR driver would succed in F1 and viceversa?

    May be...

  • Kyle Busch has been talking about Formula One. Maybe he'll switch over and we won't have to watch him anymore.
  • For sure not Dale Earnhart Junior he is a no talent bum and the idiots that delete questions about him suck.
  • the 2 time busch series champ dale jr would tear up f1.
  • Jeff, Jimmie, Matt.. JPM has already had "limited success" in F1 (he won a few races.. Seven)..
Those are the only drivers "smooth" enough, but they are way over the hill for F1..
  • NASCAR to F1- Kyle Busch.
F1 to NASCAR- Fernando Alonso...he doesn't have much of a NASCAR personality though, lol..(not the most PC guy out there ya know)
  • Kyle Busch has about as much finesse as a bull in a china shop. He'd tear up a lot of cars and do a lot of pouty interviews.

Unless they land in a top-tier ride there isn't a single NASCAR driver who'd do well in Formula-1. There's no parity in that series.

Now, given a decent ride and a good weight-loss program, Tony Stewart could do well in F-1.

I'd like to see what Sebastien Bourdais could do in NASCAR.
  • Juan Pablo Montoya
  • Kyle Busch, big time he has the sore looser attitude, and smart mouth, and the dude can drive the wheels off anything. If I were a F1 driver I would be scared. As far as F1 drivers coming to Nascar, I think Timo Glock or Jenson Button would do pretty good. Or Kyle Busch and Alonzo could just trade places, they both are cry babies and sore looser when they do not win, but Alonzo would not be as successful as Kyle Busch would be in F1, Kyle is more determined, than Alonzo, he would just run off with his Victoria Secret Model girlfriend to a secluded island somewhere. I'd put money on Rowdy being sucessful in F1.

If someone says NASCAR is not a sport but they are a top contributor?

    May be...

  • That there should not be a rap and hip hop section
  • My interpretation is that rap & hip-hop sucks so badly that they had to get away from it for a while. I tried agreeing with him/her/it, in the hopes that it would go back under it's bridge.
Maybe the passing of the King of Pop has thrown the entire music world into pandemonium. Yes? No? Maybe? : )
  • Because they aren't a Nascar fan and if they're a top contributor, obviously they're one of those who ask all the silly questions..is Nascar a sport, how do the drivers go to the bathroom, etc.

In "Rap & Hip Hop" - It's not music or anywhere remotely close to it so they pick on Nascar. Brain malfunction.
  • there just sayin its not s sport
  • That they've spent too much time in their 85 Crown Vic with 28 in wheels and a $2000 stereo system in a $900 dollar car and that stupid bass thwomp has rattled their brains(I know it has mine from a block away).
  • we only likes basketball
  • They just want their points and obviously have nothing better to do.
  • Because its just an opinion. And I'm going to pull out one of my favorite quotes here!

"Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Yours is wrong, but you are still entitled to it."

Just like I don't think Tennis or Walking are real sports.
  • Well, if he's a top contributor, he probably knows what he's talking about.
  • Who cares? If you enjoy racing, watch it and don't worry about whether somebody thinks it's a sport or not. It's like wasting your time worrying whether you'll be able to pick up new batteries for your one true love from the open all night convenience store. Talk about can't get a date!
  • Some people say NASCAR isn’t a real sport, and yet this is a place where real men strap into 800 horsepower beasts for 4 hours in 110 degree temperatures at 200 miles an hour. Where families, rivalries, patriotism, and history all come together in a bumper-to-bumper, shoulder-to-shoulder, coast-to-coast, blaze of glory. What’s more real than that?
  • that i have common sense

oh and you forgot to mention other-sports too.

    NASCAR IS NOT A SPORT
  • The same reason they can't listen to real music, like ROCK!
Edit: Hey, tom p, let's go to the Rap section and say that it isn't music! Wouldn't that make it even? NO, We don't do that. We just get trashed by them! This is a prime example of why Nascar is an awesome sport. We are forgiving and forgetting.
  • One of trepidation....

It makes me wonder why they are coming in here and trashing us?

Is that person's life that dull and insignificant that all they can think of doing is trolling...
  • I would think that as a top contributor in Rap and Hip Hop that they just haven't had the necessary exposure to the best sport in the world, and that they were just speaking out of ignorance. As a Nascar fan and someone who really doesn't listen to that genre of music, I would never take it upon myself to go over there and ask "How is Rap music?" That would be ignorant on my part and just not polite.
  • Ignorance, plain and simple. And not embarrassed by it, apparently.
  • You simply ignore them because they're either ignorant or don't have a clue about what they are talking about.
  • Somebody with no taste doesn't like NASCAR
  • Nothing.

    A TROLL's a TROLL no matter what!

  • Jeffrey Michael Gordon was born on August 4, 1971 and is a four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion that has 82 wins, 255 top 5's, and 347 top 10's. He drives the 24 DuPont Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports. He owns three-time champion and teammate Jimmie Johnson's #48 Lowe's Chevrolet. He has married model Ingrid Vanderbosch and has a daughter named Ella, who turned 2 on June 19, 2009.

  • How do you not know why Jeff Gordon is?? He is the driver that is disliked by all the Dale Earnhardt and the Dale Earnhardt Jr. fans!!!!!
  • the best race car driver ever. he acts and sounds gay but he is married to a hot supermodel and makes millions and kicks ***.
  • a homo race car driver...
  • a nascar driver also called the rainbow racer(******). he used to be good until he stoped beleiving in god, now he cant win a race.
  • Are you for real? He is a 4-time Nascar Sprint Cup champion with 82 wins in the series. Born in Vallejo, CA, he moved to Indiana at an early age. His first racing success came in Open Wheel, but when no owners asked him to their teams, he moved into Nascar. He drives the #24 Dupont Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, the top team in the sport. Incidentally, he brought Jimmie Johnson (3 consecutive titles) to the team. He is married to model Ingrid Vandebosch, and they have a daughter, Ella. Just a general overview.
  • WTF kind of question is that HE'S A NASCAR DRIVER AND CHAMPION but DALE JR. is better if you know who that is
  • Jeff Gordon is a very famous nascar driver. He drives the number 24 dupont chevy. But most people pick on him for being gay.

  • I like the sounds of that =D I'm excited!!!
  • They will be going to double file restarts, AND along with implementing that rule, they will be getting rid of that pit stop rule that only allows gas or tires per stop.

I know that rule was designed to save teams money, but it caused too much problems...what do you think?
  • The new double file restart rule is just great !!
The rule for only gas or tires when pitting is utter stupidity !!!!!!!!!!!
  • I think that is a great idea to get rid of the gas or tire only rule. That was just plain ridiculous for nascar to implement that rule. Every time one goes down pit road there is a chance for a вЂproblem’ so bringing them down twice seemed to be doubling the chance for a problem and made no sense even if it was to save $. I am glad nascar wised up to that. As for the double file restarts. Cool, I can’t wait!
  • the double file restarts are gonna be awesome, the trucks already have more exciting races than cup so im excited for that and the pit stop rule was retarded in the first place and shoulda been gone months ago! i can see the money side of it but that was a little over-board!! but im happy to see nascar changing the rules
  • That's double the good news! I'm surprised that NASCAR corrected their mistake so quickly, but I'm also proud that they have (about the pitting rule).

The most exciting NASCAR series just got more exciting.

Now, let's get Johnny Benson back on the track!!!centurion gran
  • Do you think that NASCAR is moving more races to Saturday nights to make the fans happy?

    May be...

  • I think that it is definitely a benefit as far as potential rain-outs. It is easier to have Sunday as a back-up day as opposed to Monday. Once football season starts up this could also help NASCAR's ratings instead of competing against Sunday football.
  • I grew up watching races Sunday afternoon so I resisted the Saturday night races. But now I've gotten used to them and since I live in Florida, I appreciate the Saturday night Daytona races a lot more. The weather is typically in the mid eighties rather than the high nineties, which is a lot more comfortable.
I do think the decision was strictly business, and a good decision for Nascar and fans alike.
  • It's their fault. Nascar has no dome, and there is no possible way they could race in a dome.
Don't buy a ticket to a race if you can't watch it all or most of it Monday.
We ALWAYS book Monday off, cause not only do we go home Monday morning, (home by 1pm at the latest) but if it rains Sunday we can see the race Monday.

You have like 8 months advance notice (if you go to the same race every year and know you're going again) to book the weekend off. With that much time there is no reason not to get it off.

If they listen to the fans complaining races wouldn't start after 2pm Sunday Afternoon. They'll start at Noon or 12:30 like they did in the glory days.
  • Not really. I think the real reason for Nascar having more night races is the prime time TV sponsorship. Plus, fans do like watching races under the lights. I don't see many more being added to the current schedule, though. Not every track has lights and there's the scheduling conflict with Nationwide. If I remember, theres only one Cup race so far this year that was run on Monday, and that was the 600 at Lowes. Theres been a couple of rain shortened races.
In my opinion, I prefer Sunday races, and I would like to see them start earlier in the day, say around noon or 1pm. Weather is always a concern, but when I go to a race, I ALWAYS have a rain plan B. I can't see driving 700 miles to Bristol just to turn around and go home while they are racing on Monday. I always have that extra day scheduled just in case!
  • I like them on Sundays. There's more going on in my life on a Sat. night than a Sunday afternoon.
  • Say a race gets rained out on a Sunday....a lot of fans have to go to work on Mon. and would not be able to stay and see it. I think that NASCAR is shifting more races to Sat. nights because enough fans complained about not getting to see rain-postponed races.
  • Rain Outs?

More like they can drink more cheap beer and only have to go home the next day.

Its much less trouble to wake up in the gutter Sunday afternoon than on Monday morning.king lift soopers ticket
  • Which NASCAR driver is this?

    May be...

  • Jeff Burton
  • I say Kevin Harvick, as well. Newman didn't change sponsors until this season, with the new team.

Junior fits most of the criteria as well, but he didn't change sponsors until 2008, and he won a race last year.

Mark Martin doesn't work because he never won the 500, has almost 40 wins, and finished higher than 5th a bunch of times.

Kasey Kahne doesn't fit, because he never won the 500.

    I'll go with Junior, now.
  • Harvick.
  • You are Dominic A.

    The question.......Gregg Biffle???
  • I was thinking Micheal Waltrip, but then no. so you got me.
  • I thought it was Harvick, but the points position doesn't add up.

Then I thought Ryan Newman, but he didn't change sponsor at the start of 2007.

So I guess you got me.
  • - Past Daytona 500 winner
    - Has not won under the Sprint Cup Series, but won in both Nextel/Sprint Name
    - He won a race his rookie year

  • hopefully never, he sucks

NASCAR NATION: While Kyle Busch is driving for a championship in the Nationwide Series, i......?

    May be...

  • Possibly.
I sure do wish he'd focus all that energy of his on Cup only.
  • Kyle will win this year's Nationwide Series championship, the in 2010 focus on the Cup Series more.
  • No. He races harder and more often then anyone ever. NASCAR would be a bore lately if it wasn't for Kyle. I hope he or Tony smashes more trophies along the way to a cup title.

    Rock n Roll baby!

I have a phobia against grandfather clocks. I hope he sticks a friggin tire iron through one at Martyville. Serious. Who needs a damn Grandfather clock these days?

    Oops!
  • NASCAR NATION: While Kyle Busch is driving for a championship in the Nationwide Series, is it taking a way his attention and performance in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series?

I mean, last year he bowed out of running full-time in April or something and his performance sky-rocketed and won 8 of the first 22 races. Now this year, heck - he is well on his way to winning a Nationwide Title, but he is 9th in Cup Standings, I believe 50 some points from 13th...
  • Not sure...but im sure hes doing it for more oportunites to win! Hes a fun dude. I think hes just out to win win and win. Hes gota long ways ahead of him for championships. Not that he doesnt want one..
  • i do hope he stops racing in natiowide. i mean he always wins there. heck 4 wins this year in nationwide and 3 in cup. total 7. but yea also edwards needs to stop racing in nationwide cuz in my opinion its just not fair to the nationwide only drivers. they would have better performances in cup and edwards has no wins this year in cup. heck im with jeff gordon woo!!!!
  • In Kyle's interview last week he said he'd race anything...its fun and his life. So I understand his need for speed and racing. I do think he is tired and sometimes burnt out on Sunday and I think sometimes it does affect his driving. I would like him to just consentrate on Cup but he's a racer...its the blood in his veins.
  • I think Kyle can handle running in both series, and not affect his performance in cup.airtran vouchers

It wont be the Southern 500 in Darlington. They only did that since it was the tracks 60th anniversary.

Who chooses/assigns numbers to the race cars and trucks?

    May be...

  • NASCAR does officially "own" each number that is used, as well as unused. Each team owner can request specific numbers, i. e. Richard Childress Racing currently using the 07, 29, 31, and 33 as well as having the 3 available. NASCAR has no official policy of retiring a number, hence Richard Childress Racing requesting the 3 and not using the number until RCR desires to return the 3 to the track. The same was done by Robert Yates Racing with the 28 after the death of Davey Allison.
  • I have heard that Nascar "owns" the numbers and then leases numbers to each team. A petition has to be filed by the teams to lease a particular number. Not sure why teams choose which numbers they want to lease but I am sure they have their own reasons.
  • The owners.
  • The numbers are bought by the teams.

For example, Richard Childress has the rights to the #3. He does not want to put it on the track. So it stays "shelved" until he wants to use it.

I Believe that NASCAR ultimately "owns" the numbers and leases them out to the teams.
  • Yea NASCAR approves the numbers. The teams request use of the numbers and NASCAR has to approve the number. NASCAR can deny use of the number but in every case I can remember NASCAR has always allowed the person who has been using the number to keep using that number
  • the drivers can pick their # if its available like Tony Stewart picked 14 because A.J. Foyt was his fav. driver and that was his #. The team owner probably picks some of the #'s on his cars though.
  • they can pick what number they want
  • With cars/trucks that have three numbers on them..for as long as I have been watching NASCAR...I don't believe I have ever seen one up front...much less in Victory Lane. I would just like to know how they get the numbers.john marshall info

How does someone obtain their Top Fuel and Funny Car licenses?

    May be...

  • I'm not 100% sure on the whole approval method, but one way is to bring your own drag car to the track, usually during a test n tune session or whenever and NHRA (or IHRA) officials will watch you as you make several passes, each one a little longer until you make a full run. I'm also pretty sure you can get your license through a drag racing school like Frank Hawley.
  • Here is the link that will tell you.

    http://www.nhra.com/competition/forms.as...
  • Couple of ways of doing it. Have lots of money and have lots of money. No one is going to just you jump into a top fuel car. They probably will not even let you jump right into an alcohol car and for good reason. You can get killed pretty quickly.
Not sure if you have to but from what I have seen most people get licensed in alcohol first. Like the previous poster said, Frank Hawley's school is good or you can go to Doug Foley's school. I know to get an alcohol license it will set you back about $20,000.avventure bellissime
  • Which Nascar track would you like to race? Who would you drive for ?

    May be...

  • Watkins Glen for Hendricks..
I love driving "The Glen", but have never driven with the "inner-loop"..
That would be interesting with a 3400 pound car to drive..
  • I would choose Daytona International speedway, since it's the closest to my hometown. I'd drive for Yates Racing in the #28 Texaco/ Havoline Ford with a paint scheme that is reminiscent of Davey Allison's 1992 scheme.
  • Infineon, Hendrick. Driving a car like that would be a blast at infineon
  • Talladega for Hendrick #48 with Chad Knaus. Heck, I could make one turn full speed if he was my crew chief.
  • texas or daytona
and i would drive the 44 for richard petty motor sports because
i see them as a underdog climbing the NASCAR ladder
  • I would drive a RFR car at Richmond.
  • sonoma/ Chicagoland

    Stewart-Haas
  • Talladega for SHR.
  • MIS for Roush wtg Ford for standing on your own two feet and turning down stimulus money. My hat is off to you.
  • Daytona for RCR
  • Infineon/ Watkins Glen
Red Bull Racing or Front Row Motorsports

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
  • Lowe's Motor Speedway for Richard Petty Motorsports
  • Talladega or Daytona for anyone. I would love to race at the super speedways. I don't car who i drive for, it's that i'm driving in nascar!web master marketing on the internet

  • has anyone seen a replay of Jimmie taking out Kurt Busch at Infineon Raceway. All I can remember is from the race Sunday, and it didn't make Jimmie look too good. I would like to see a link posted so it could be critiqued more in depth. Something just didn't look too normal on Jimmies part. Where can I find a replay of Jimmie taking out Kurt Busch?
  • It didn't look intentional to me. Jimmie Johnson is not a dirty driver. It looked like when he caught the edge of the track he was actually airborne, let up on the gas and lost control of his car. (you can't steer when the front tires are off the ground). He apologized immediately and his apology sounded sincere.

If it had been Kyle Busch that did that to anyone else, you would call it hard racing, and how did the very talented and the 'best' driver in NASCAR do this?
    http://www.nascar.com/video/cup/2009/06/...

After the incident with Jimmie, Kurt came back with a 15th place finish, I'm sure he had do do some pretty aggressive driving to do that too.

  • Is It To Late For Me To Enter Formula One Racing?

    May be...

  • Yes
  • depends. Have you had many years of racing gokarts, formula 2 formula 3. Do you have many millions of dollars to bring to a team with sponsorship? If the answer to any of these is no, then sorry. If you like racing then I suggest you start in a class you can afford , and one that is realistically within your reach. Otherwise dream on . It is never too late to race, but just be realistic about it, VERY few ppl ever get into F1 , and there are many thousands of race drivers
  • not too late but without the proper training and experience ya probably have no chance. look into Barber racing school and invest the time and money. then just prove yourself on and off the track. There are other racing schools you can invest in. I would suggest getting into local racing first to see if you actually have some skills, most local tracks have open wheel racing classes, but start with the street cheapo class to get an easier start.
  • I am 17 years of age and i am so inspired by formula one is it to late for me to become a driver and start a career
    Please help
  • Sorry but yes.
Maybe in other forms of motor racing but not in formula 1.
Even if we take the far fetched scenario that you're so talented you can still do it if you start so late and get to F1 with few years of racing experience under your belt, you have to understand that F1 team bosses aren't particularly excited by up and coming...aged drivers.i600 smartphone

    When is the NBA draft?

    May be...

  • the draft strategy works best at Daytona and Talledega because of the restricter plates. The next plate race is July 4th @ Daytona.
  • This thursday july 24 on ESPN.
  • This Thursday Night, You can watch it on ESPN.
  • Thursday night.
  • July 25, ESPN, You can also watch it on ESPN 360.
  • eaZY 10 points
  • go to basketball. here in nascar our idea of draft is Sadler getting past on the last lap of the 500, Martin getting edged by Harvick in 2007, and Carl Edwards getting close to his fans and Junior Jr. wins at Dega.
  • during off season
  • If you mean the NBA as in the NASCAR Beer-A-thon, that's every weekend. : )
  • I have no idea
  • You're in the Nascar section dude.
I have no idea, nor do I really care. Draft in Nascar is only at Daytona and Talladega.
  • This Thursday night. You may want to ask this in basketball. This is the Nascar section. You would get better answers in the Basketball section.
  • The only draft I know about will be taking place at Daytona on the fourth..pomery champagne
  • Kyle Busch and 2009....?

    May be...

  • Kyle should treat all nascar fans, driver and crew to an apology for his crappy attitude and sure breakfast would work to.
  • Speed needs to learn to get out of the way when Kyle is coming like most others do. Kyle owes him nothing.
  • I am looking for both Kyle and Scott doing well in the Rolex at Daytona...I saw Kyles interview yesterday.
It was hard racing...and I am sorry that it was your guy.. Kyle should treat him to breakfast AND dinner.
  • Speed deserves a ride in Kyle's car if he doesn't make the show. Both were Kyle's fault, so that's what should happen. Front Row Joe is awesome, and Speed got to lead the race at the end. By the way, the Martinsville one was for ninth and the LV one was for third, I believe. Sure, they can win one for the Chipster. Congrats to Dario at Iowa. Sick to Indy cars there, buddy.
  • Now I'm a Scott Speed Fan and Twice this Year Kyle Busch has gotten into Speed and wrecked there cars. (Las Vegas NNS) and (Martinsville NSCS) and both time Kyle wrecked Speedit was for the Lead.

Should Kyle Busch treat Scott Speed to breakfast or Dinner for those on track incidents? lol

Also do you think Rowdy and Speed will do well in the Rolex at Daytona in Next Months Race? I sure hope they get a win for Ganassi!

    Not Intended For Bashing.
  • If I recall correctly, Kyle bought him dinner once already!

And I think they will win the race at Daytona. They have amazing equipment, and their main competition is going to be their teammates, Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas.
  • Yeah, but Scott Speed isn't the only victim of a wreck caused by the #18 car. Kyle should give free M&M's to every other driver he has wrecked. Lol, j/k.

And yes, I think Kyle and Scott will do well in the Rolex race at Daytona. Ganassi is always a force at Daytona. With talented drivers like Busch and Speed behind the wheel, they will probably be tough to beat.
  • I believe they will both do really well in the Rolex at Daytona. Kyle owes Scott Speed a bufet for the rest of the year.
  • Breakfast at Cracker Barrel will work

Kyle just runs hard, I'm sure he didn't mean it.beef gold jerky pacific
  • Which Road Course Ringer did you find yourself pulling for?

    May be...

  • I always cheer for Patrick Carpentier, and I guess he's technically a road course ringer again. I thought it would have been awesome to see him get a win.

But, I'm not about to complain about who won the race. ^___^
  • Like Prez said, if Marcos could be considered a Ringer, I was pulling for him, otherwise Boris. He didn't have such a good day, though. He seemed to be involve in some way with a good number of those spins. Congrats to Kahne and his fans, you guys got yourselves a big win yesterday.
  • Hey, me too. I found a new road course ringer I had never heard of. His name was KASEY KAHNE!!!!!!!!! For one - offers, though, I have to say Boris. He had such bad luck.
  • Brandon Ash. He had a strong run going till he got spun.
  • I Was Actually Rooting For Jeff Gordon.
  • Elliot Sadler and Bois Said. But then was hoping for Robby to pull it off when he was leading and a few laps to go...then that caution came out. That sucked.
  • I actually wanted Brandon Ash to do good just because that team is such a small operation so it would have been cool to see him at least in the top 20. I was rooting for Said, Fellows, and Papis to do good too.
  • I was rooting for Max too. Boris hasn't been doing good on the road courses as of late, maybe because the team hes with sucks. No Fear Racing or whatever, more like No Run-Good Racing. I was really cheering for Ambrose but you can't really call him a ringer
  • Ron Fellows from the get go, he IS a Fellow Canadian.
  • I found Myself Pulling for Max Papis for a Top 10. Boy I love Road Course Racing.
  • Agree with you KiDD 82 -- I love road courses! Since I can't fairly deem Marcos Ambrose or The Dinger (wildly cheering for both of them)road course "ringers" as they are regular Cup drivers, I was pulling for Max Papis & Patrick Carpentier. A 12th place for Max was very good but the 11th place finish for Patrick was a huge plus for Michael Waltrip Racing.
  • Almendinger
I'm a long time CART fan

  • Why did Jimmie Johnson take out Kurt Busch?

    May be...

  • The only person that will ever know for sure is Jimmie. To me it just look like they were both racing hard.
  • I don't blame Kurt for being mad at Jimmie. Kurt was way on the other side of the track. Kurt left Jimmie more than enough room on his right. (and don't tell me about Jimmie apologizing after the race, I saw that too) Did it look like Jimmie did it intentionally, or did Jimmie honestly have poor car control?
  • It's called a racing incident.
  • It wasn't intentional, it was just hard racing.
  • That's the thing about a road course. There is only one line and more than one person wants to run it. It looked like Kurt was trying to make a pass and squeezed Jimmie to the cub and when Jimmie came off of the curb he got loose enough to catch Kurt's rear quarter panel.

If there ever was a case of it's "just racing" then that was a fine example. When you haven't had a good run in a while and you finally have one and something like that happens I'm sure it gets under their skin.
  • I think they were just fighting for the same spot on the track. that's racin'. what are u gonna do? and I would have to agree with the TNT announcers when they said that Jimmie is one of the cleanest racers out there. there is no way Jimmie did that intentionally. Not only did he aplogize to kurt on the radio, he went up to Kurt after the race and aplogized. that shows true sportsmanship right there.
  • To me it looked like when Jimmie hit the curb it really upset his car. I don't think Jimmie ever really regained control of his car after bouncing off that curb. It's just one of those unfortunate racing deals.
  • "let he who is without sin cast the first stone"...it's racing. i like kurt quite a bit more than i do the #48 though i don't have issues with him either. i don't blame kurt a bit for being mad. however, don't you get mad when someone cuts you off in traffic? it's not always an intentional thing. besides, he still finished 20 positions ahead of my guy. mark got beat up all day but i doubt he'd point the finger. just a tough day on a tough race track. kurt is still solid in the points and will be a factor in the chase.
  • Doubtful that it was with the intent to wreck him. Two hard racers fighting for one spot on the track it was bound to happen.
Too bad for Kurt though. When he's mad....his inner-Busch still shines through :)luggage stores toronto

  • Why is Lewis Hamilton under performing this season?

    May be...

  • The McLaren is absolutely crap this season and is not at all competitive.

I predict Hamilton will only finish 11th in the championship unfortunately.
  • It's THE CAR... something you would LEARN if you actually LISTENED TO THE ANNOUNCERS instead of playing with your XBOX or chatting on your computer because you are one of those morons who have to do 10 things at once... ALL OF THEM DONE BADLY.
  • With the new regulation brought in for this year, the design of the cars have changed vastly from last year.
And Mclaren just didn't get it right this year. Same with Ferrari, neck and neck with Mclaren last year but just dropped off this year, again they just haven't designed their cars well.
Where as Red Bull and the new Brawn GP have made smart decisions in the design of their cars and it has shown in this years championship.

Yes Mclaren and Brawn are using Mercedes engines but its also a combination of all the components of a car that give it its overall performance. Force India also have Mercedes engines but they have really only improved their race performance by about 3 or 4 positions on average compared to last year.

After Sliverstone he is 11th in the championship, 10 places lower then he would like, but I think thats roughly where he will finish the year. Somewhere around their. The performance of the MP4-24 just doesn't stack up againest the new leaders of the field.
  • Dude his car is 9 tenths of in qualifiying, this may not sound like much but in F1 it is a lifetime, mainly it is the straightline speed and cornering which is bad on the car. The balance is good though, Mclaren put all of the effort into last season to make Lewis win.

I think he will get into the top 15.
  • i think it was Eddie Jordan who said a few races ago that Mclaren seem to always put their effort into a winning car, and then they havn't worked on a new car for the next season, so they sort of rush it to get a new car, that doesn't work really.
  • Last season when he won the F1 World Championship, he displayed passion, desire, and was a fighter.

what is with the sudden change in his performance?

What position do you think he will finish at the end of the season?what graphics card to buy
