If your keeping the same gearing and wheels etc, and as long as the new engine is not much heavier than the old one it should give you an improvement in top speed and acceleration, it wont be a huge improvement, but any improvement is good, right? i just ordered a 6hp briggs and stratton engine offline it is used and was taken off a power washer just wanted to know if it is possible to put it on my go kart (it is a horizontal shaft )

Stupid new rule and more dangerous as the pits are more dangerous than the actual track is. Cause NASCAR is stupid and thinks doing that is good and will save money since less people can go over the wall during the pit stop meaning they hire less people.
It's just really stupid and I hope they dump it after the season is over if they don't do it before the season is over. to save $ and only have a small number of people over the wall on a pit stop. it seems dumb because the more you go down pit road the more likely there is for an altercation (problem) I guess the other series are smart not to do that stupid rule. I think it is a stupid move. They started this because it is supposed to save the teams money because they don't have to have as many crew members over the wall. I'm not sure why other series don't do this. They probably will in the future if the rule does save money. It's a new rule being tried in the truck series this year. He might retire, unlike Dale Jr he knows he hasn't got it anymore Probably because with all the shifting and turning of the road course of Sonoma he will be unable to keep his beer from spilling :)) Mikey has Reuitmann running for him now.
Hopefully Mikey can do some business, and enjoy what he has going for him. If he does get Truex next year, he's going to have a whole bunch of new MWR fans. But as far as a ringer @ Sonoma, he's gonna be in the #14 car He said in TWIN that after so many years, he had to admit that he just doesn't perform well there and that it was a decision he made for the sake of the team. He's right.
That may very well be a sign of things to come. Mikey is a funny guy and he's a great spokesman for NAPA, but he can do more for them by getting a good driver for the 55 and putting all his effort into managing his team and doing the PR work. he wanted that car to have a chance to win. i actually think it is a sign i think after this season or the next he'll step away from the car. he hasn't had the results as a driver/owner so i think he'll put another driver in the 55 soon. the 00 is running well and he sees that and he think why can't i do that.vodafone email setup

Good Luck! The people who report in this section are the ones who can not take constructive critism of their driver. They think their driver is god. They really need to get a life.
I never report people in this section. I did report someone in another section but that was because they were some sort of sex offender who asked some evil question that really did violate yahoo rules. In the last 2 weeks i have had 12 reported i'm getting use to it. For fun in between races I come here, visit nascar.com and Scene Daily, and play NASCAR 09 on my 360. When I'm not doing that, I'm cruising e-bay's NASCAR diecast section, basically looking at the older sponsors and paint schemes. Last night a relative of mine remarked that I may be obsessed with NASCAR. ;-)
I have quite a healthy sense of humor. I didn't see your questions last night, and it's impossible to know who did the reporting. I admit that I do report questions and answers, but only if they are in GROSS violation of the community guidelines.
edit: If your questions were re-posted, that means some azz just reported your question for no good reason. I've seen that a lot. Some questions and answers that violate the community guidelines stay while legitimate questions and answers get deleted. It's very unfortunate. That just sounds like an insult. Well, I do what normal people do. Eat, Sleep, Work, and Play. That sums up Monday through Saturday for most people. You must have hurt somebody's feeling, there are many people in this section that have the maturity of Kyle Busch You have people here who like nothing better than to Tick People off and their way of doing it is to report you and or see if they can get you suspended. I know because I have gotten E-Mail from people here who say that they will continue to do what they do,as they feel they are better than most, and are not going away.
The Funny thing is,that they keep getting Thumbs Down for everything they post, but keep coming back to see If they can get you to say something to get your answer taken off and or you Suspended. NASCAR cars are similar to rally cars except they come with strong roll cages and the flexibility to convert FWD to RWD.
For performance consistency, the engine of a NASCAR car is made by the same firm that manufactures its body.
They are also asymmetrically designed (in terms of suspension & springs) because the cars only turn left on an oval race track. In general, rally cars are lighter, have less horsepower, and have four-wheel drive. Rally cars have turbos while stock cars have carburetors, and they also seat two, whereas stocks cars seat one. Actually my friend in the UK says that NASCAR is fairly popular over there, especially the road courses. If Sears Point goes green at 1 pm Pacific, that's only 9 pm in the UK, and 10 in most of Europe.
He does go out of his way to point out that *nobody* watches the plate races. It's just too hard to stay awake during those. Good question. I don't know if they will or not but it would be interesting to find out if they do I really hope they enjoy it. You will have to ask this question again after the race ;)
TGIF!!! Only if they're Racing fans in general. If they only like F1 or Indy they won't watch. They could do what I do and flip over to the Nascar race during IRL commercials. I'm a die hard Nascar fan but since I will be in Sonoma, but the people I'm going with they have a satelitte I'm sure we will be able to catch some of the F1 and Indy car race before the Nascar guys hit the track at Sonoma, But I do have my DVR set here at home for F1 and IRL race.

And Jocko Flocko's answer is in a realm far beyond ignorance. Nascar has been putting on races at Sonoma and Watkins Glen for several years now. I don't see that they are making many inroads (if any) with the F1 and IRL people. Each side has some pretty negative stereotypes they are facing in the other side's eyes. I would like to hear their point of view on a comparison on NASCARs attempt to race road course style. Or, maybe we could compare it ourselves! I doubt the open wheel fans would want to watch a NASCAR event even though it is at a road course. Even with the right turns involved, the spirit of stock car racing will be present. We are still going to see some fender rubbing, side-by-side racing, battles for the lead, and more than one lead change during the day. Such a spectacle would cause confusion and disorientation among the F1 fans, and they wouldn't know what to make of it. F1 just went out of business, so some fans may be looking for a new racing series.. I doubt it. I don't know why people that like open wheel racing alone don't like stock car racing. It's insane. I grew up at the dirt tracks and loving NASCAR since I was little, and when I saw my first IRL race on TV, I loved it. Then I got to goto one live @ Texas, and I thought they put on a better show than the NASCAR races I've see there. I don't watch the F1 as much, but I do follow the series and see what happens week in, and week out. F1, I doubt it. By the time the race starts in Cali, most of the European races fans are out for the evening, or asleep. I think there is a 12 hour difference in time.

What I don't understand is why the manufacturer of the engine didn't get penalized? That entity gave paperwork saying the engine was within NASCAR specs so I have a problem with that. You know, I would venture to say the team was NOT cheating - they went on good faith from the manufacturer that the engine was ok.
If anyone was going to pull the wool over NASCAR's eye, then why would Long have given them the engine to inspect IF he KNEW it didn't meet specs? From what I understand, Long could have loaded up and taken the engine home without NASCAR inspecting it.
Then, we come back to Jeremy Mayfield. He failed two drugs tests. Now, he is being accused of using Meth. Who do you believe? Why would a driver screw himself and his team like that when he / she knew that drug tests would be given at random times? There is no way you can know when a drug test is given..........
The whole think is very sad. I feel for the Longs. But what about the manufacturers paperwork????????? What am I missing?????? no it isn't. Yet another theory... Sounds like they are weeding.

Agreed, cheating is cheating. yup i say that makes a good point i believe in conspiracy to save $ and knock out the small guy. I don't completely agree with Nascar, but this time they are caught in the middle. It has long been known that Nascar will in no way, shape, or form, tolerate any kind of cubic inch rule infraction, deliberate or otherwise. If it had been a Ganassi car, or a Hendrick car found to be over the limit, noone would say Boo. But because it's a single guy trying to run on a shoestring, Nascar should change the way it enforces the rules? In this case, no I don't think so. I understand racing is not cheap. If you can't afford to pay, you can't afford to play - it's that simple. Carl Long could have run some ARCA races or done something with a little smaller budget instead of trying to run in the Cup series. No, It's nascar's way of punishing people who CHEAT!! I have no problem with the penalty whatsoever. If you get a speeding ticket, you don't pay more or less depending on how sucessful or rich or poor or poor you are. If this puts his team out of business, so be it. Price you pay for breaking the rules. Nascar should have lowered the fine. They didn't do this purposely to put Long out of business but some flexibility would have been nice.

I know he's got Toyota's help and I think he gets help from MWR also. Robby will never do good. He's an off-road racer ... not a NASCAR racer. robbie gordon gets help from charity and steals from charity to to make living in nascar. I think he gets some funding from TRD.
But only he knows for sure. Im sure he gets $$$ help from Toyota and gets car info(set up) from the other Toyota teams. Which ones I dont know. If TRD were not giving him help, he would not be running their cars. I imagine he has had a tenuous connection to one of the multi-car Toyota teams. Remember last year when he was running Dodge and tried to get in with Gillett-Evernham, but he did something and ticked them off so badly that they voided the contract? He apparently doesn't work well with others. He is just not much of a Nascar driver although he does really well in off-road and rally-type racing. I think he gets most support from TRD than from MWR, JGR, RBR and JGR does he receive any help from any multi car toyopta program like MWR or JGR,or is he totally on his own?

While I find it almost impossible to answer any of your question I might can leave you with a thought. A few years back the FIA insisted on the same track making some improvements and they did. So how that relates to your answer is I think NASCAR could have easily requested the same improvements to be made to the track in Mexico. However ... the track would be under the laws of Mexico and not the United States so I'm sure Mexico would not have the same liability laws as the U.S. would. It also seems the car's frame is not the same as the American cars. It didn't hold up very well to the impact. The name of the track is "Autodromo Miguel E. Abed" and I could find no information on the ownership of the track.

The car just exploded into pieces and I have seen worse wrecks in American NASCAR. It just seemed the car wasn't built as safe.

here are a few links on the subject Good question, and I wish I had an answer. I read somewhere on the 'net that track officials had warned the drivers to maintain their line in that area of the track because they knew it was particularly dangerous at that location. But that didn't come from an official source. I know the track didn't have safer barriers and the cars are not COTs, but that wall should not have been there at that angle and exposed. It just shouldn't have been. NASCAR has seen what an impact at that angle looks like (Michael Waltrip at Bristol) and the least they could have done was added more safety measures there. Geez.
I went to YouTube and read the comments made in Spanish. A lot of the people in Mexico are VERY upset that the track was so poorly designed. It is clear by their comments that they are upset about how things are done in Mexico. Apparently safety doesn't rank very high for racing officials in Mexico. Edgar Matute is the guy they are blaming for the accident on that track. I don't know if he's the track owner or an official, but he declared that track safe, and obviously it is not. The people are very upset that Mexico doesn't get the same attention to safety that NASCAR in the USA does. If NASCAR is going to put its name on that racing series, then they need to get it together. NASCAR has blood on its hands because of this.usairways boarding pass

I looked up the tour info thing on their site but it has to open a document I can't get to. So does anyone know if they offer a tour? Yes. I think everyone has a chance to become a really good race car driver, if provided the equipment, just look at Jimmie Johnson. Joey has top notch equipment and a good crew chief. Things will click, and by this time next year, Joey should be well in the chase. I think he will. Most folks like him too. I think he will do well if the media will just let him learn to blend into the race. I think so. At the start of the season I didn't think he was living up to the hype, but as the season has gone on he has shown improvement. Give him a couple seasons to really get into it and he could be a top competitor. For me he is not living up to the hype but this is his first year and he is seeing some of these tracks for the first time. I can't really say if he will be great but I think there is potential for anyone who is driving a Gibbs car to be good. We will just have to wait and see. I do not see why not. He won only his third Nationwide start ever. He is on a super team with an excellent crew chief. And he has caught onto the Sprint Cup car more quickly than a lot of the established drivers did. He has had several very good finishes this year, more often than not on the lead lap. He definitely has the potential for a great career. Give Joey a few more years to experience the tracks and he will show more of himself...

In 10 years, Joey Logano will be a great driver.. the next Jimmie Johnson, I bet... cause honestly, I don't see a Jeff Gordon or a Tony Stewart in him... or even a Kyle Busch (the aggressive-ness) I think he WILL be great one day.

He bought the Saber Liner because folks teased him about not having a jet.. And have you heard any new information about his condition? I'm very concerned for him because the injuries I heard about were burns and broken ribs. i had to feed,brand,medicate,tag,artificial inseminate,and palpate cattle.........just to name a few...........mow,weedeat,catch critters......... Construction in 1960 if i remember it was .65 a hr. I was the clean up boy LOL When I was 16 or 17 my Mom helped me get a summer job working in the kitchen of the hospital where she worked. We set up all the patients' trays for their meals, and then afterwards gathered them all up and put them through a huge conveyer belt type dishwasher.
I have no idea how much I made. Minimum wage, whatever that was back the the 70's.

Take Care I worked in a barrel factory over the summer during college. Made decent money for the time. That was over 30 years ago. I still use some of the barrels as garbage cans. I worked as a dishwasher at a steak house, fun job the opening night the drain pipe for the machine burst and flooded the place. I'm not sure now(it was over 20 yrs ago), but I think I was making about $4/hr. Later nailed the place for violating child labor laws(I wasn't supposed to be working until 1:30 am). Technically my first job was mowing lawns in the neighborhood. My first realy job in high school was at a drug store/convenience store called Pharmhouse. They are no longer in business these days though. Got paid $5.15 or whatever minimum wage was back then. They let me write my own schedule though which was nice. Go Dale Jr & Hms I worked in the strawberry fields picking berries for 20 cents a quart...all day long everyday as long as their were berries. Didn't see a cent of that money. Also...babysat, and at 16 got my first paying job washing dishes for a local restaurant for $35 for Saturday and Sunday. Had to hand over that money too.

2) Kasey Kahne> I would use Kasey as the guy who goes up to the tellers with the note that says "it's a hold-up, everybody get down" The reason being Kasey also no one would think he a bank robber. He is too innocent looking.
3) Jeff Burton> I would Jeff as the lookout guy at the front of the bank and look out for the cops & US Marshall's.
4) Clint Bowyer> I would use Clint to be the "loose cannon" guy that yells at everyone and escorts the bank manager to the vault. Gotta have a intimidating guy to enforce my rules.

F1 is not that confusing and if you have a good commentary team on the TV channel you watch it on, then they should explain what is happening regarding rules and refueling etc. As to what TV channel it is on, that depends on which country you are in, here in Australia it is on ONE HD, in England it is on ITV i think, iam sure BBClost the rights this year. You should check out the F1 website for when and where each race is and then check your local TV guides.

They allow the air to pass through the car instead of lifting it up.
Blow on a piece of paper, then blow on a window screen. Same principle. It's the small flaps on top of the cars( I think its two) that I have seen drivers open when they spin out or crash. Those roof flaps (as they are called) deploy in order to create drag to keep the car from getting air borne. they come up as a safety procaution. it helps slow the car down and it also keeps the car on 4 wheels and keeps it from flipping most of the time. although sometimes they do not work 100% http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roof_flap They are called Roof Flaps, and they open by themselves when the car gets sideways or turned around.
The driver has no control over when they open or not.
Once the car is back going in the proper direction they close by them selves, usually.
