How fast can a 6hp briggs and stratton engine go when on a go kart ? (came off a power washer)?

May be...

  • If your keeping the same gearing and wheels etc, and as long as the new engine is not much heavier than the old one it should give you an improvement in top speed and acceleration, it wont be a huge improvement, but any improvement is good, right?
  • i just ordered a 6hp briggs and stratton engine offline it is used and was taken off a power washer just wanted to know if it is possible to put it on my go kart (it is a horizontal shaft )
how fast can it go when it is put on my go kart
i weigh 250 pounds and wanted to know how fast will my kart be taking me
i have a 5hp on it right now will it go 5-10 miles faster or just accelarate faster?broken tibula and fibula
  • Why do NASCAR trucks make 2 pit stops fuel and then tires? Why don't other series do this?

    May be...

  • Stupid new rule and more dangerous as the pits are more dangerous than the actual track is.
  • Cause NASCAR is stupid and thinks doing that is good and will save money since less people can go over the wall during the pit stop meaning they hire less people.

It's just really stupid and I hope they dump it after the season is over if they don't do it before the season is over.
  • to save $ and only have a small number of people over the wall on a pit stop. it seems dumb because the more you go down pit road the more likely there is for an altercation (problem) I guess the other series are smart not to do that stupid rule.
  • I think it is a stupid move.
  • They started this because it is supposed to save the teams money because they don't have to have as many crew members over the wall. I'm not sure why other series don't do this. They probably will in the future if the rule does save money.
  • It's a new rule being tried in the truck series this year. It's supposed to save money by reducing pit crew members. To me all I've seen it do is make cautions last longer so guys can pit twice. Which means we get to see more lovely commercials.
  • It's suppose to save money. Having less crew members over the wall saves money.

They use this in the Truck series for "testing purposes"peg nx80vg

  • A ringer in the 55 car?

    May be...

  • Did anyone hear why Waltrip decided not to race this weekend?

Also, is Mikey giving us a sign of things to come?
  • So Carpentier could run well.
    Yes.
  • I don't think you can really call his replacement a ringer.
He might retire, unlike Dale Jr he knows he hasn't got it anymore
  • Probably because with all the shifting and turning of the road course of Sonoma he will be unable to keep his beer from spilling :))
  • Mikey has Reuitmann running for him now.
Hopefully Mikey can do some business, and enjoy what he has going for him. If he does get Truex next year, he's going to have a whole bunch of new MWR fans. But as far as a ringer @ Sonoma, he's gonna be in the #14 car
  • He said in TWIN that after so many years, he had to admit that he just doesn't perform well there and that it was a decision he made for the sake of the team. He's right.

That may very well be a sign of things to come. Mikey is a funny guy and he's a great spokesman for NAPA, but he can do more for them by getting a good driver for the 55 and putting all his effort into managing his team and doing the PR work.
  • he wanted that car to have a chance to win. i actually think it is a sign i think after this season or the next he'll step away from the car. he hasn't had the results as a driver/owner so i think he'll put another driver in the 55 soon. the 00 is running well and he sees that and he think why can't i do that.vodafone email setup
  • NASCAR SECTION INFORMANTS.?

    May be...

  • I really want to know something to ask a question! And rarely give an answer in this section because of people reporting all the time. Get ready someone will report your question and my answer! Good Luck!
  • The people who report in this section are the ones who can not take constructive critism of their driver. They think their driver is god. They really need to get a life.

I never report people in this section. I did report someone in another section but that was because they were some sort of sex offender who asked some evil question that really did violate yahoo rules.
  • In the last 2 weeks i have had 12 reported i'm getting use to it.
  • For fun in between races I come here, visit nascar.com and Scene Daily, and play NASCAR 09 on my 360. When I'm not doing that, I'm cruising e-bay's NASCAR diecast section, basically looking at the older sponsors and paint schemes. Last night a relative of mine remarked that I may be obsessed with NASCAR. ;-)

I have quite a healthy sense of humor. I didn't see your questions last night, and it's impossible to know who did the reporting. I admit that I do report questions and answers, but only if they are in GROSS violation of the community guidelines.

edit: If your questions were re-posted, that means some azz just reported your question for no good reason. I've seen that a lot. Some questions and answers that violate the community guidelines stay while legitimate questions and answers get deleted. It's very unfortunate. Just keep on keeping on. :-)
  • I asked a few simple questions on here last night and was abused and Reported wrongly my other acc was suspended. So my Q is what do you do for fun in between races. And why have you No sense of humour in Nascar.
  • those are false implications and statements, so there will be no correct answer. I guess we're just supposed to be more productive with our lives and leave the shriveled up wastes of human lives, troll around in the NASCAR section. It doesn't bother me too much. I think they call it "slumming".
  • One word.....TROLLS>

I may put up snarky answers, but I don't have the time or inclination to report people.

Maybe, just MAYBE, you should not ask questions like if NASCAR is for "People that are too old to play Scalextric."

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

That just sounds like an insult.
  • Well, I do what normal people do. Eat, Sleep, Work, and Play. That sums up Monday through Saturday for most people.
  • You must have hurt somebody's feeling, there are many people in this section that have the maturity of Kyle Busch
  • You have people here who like nothing better than to Tick People off and their way of doing it is to report you and or see if they can get you suspended. I know because I have gotten E-Mail from people here who say that they will continue to do what they do,as they feel they are better than most, and are not going away.

The Funny thing is,that they keep getting Thumbs Down for everything they post, but keep coming back to see If they can get you to say something to get your answer taken off and or you Suspended. They think they can outsmart you but in the long run it's not gonna happen
  • It happens a lot in this section. Mostly we suspect it's one or two people who have multiple accounts, and they most likely live in their mom's basement.free color palm game
  • NASCAR Motorsports - What is the difference between a NASCAR Car and a Rally Car?

    May be...

  • NASCAR cars are similar to rally cars except they come with strong roll cages and the flexibility to convert FWD to RWD.

For performance consistency, the engine of a NASCAR car is made by the same firm that manufactures its body.

They are also asymmetrically designed (in terms of suspension & springs) because the cars only turn left on an oval race track.
  • In general, rally cars are lighter, have less horsepower, and have four-wheel drive. Rally cars have turbos while stock cars have carburetors, and they also seat two, whereas stocks cars seat one. Basically, they are very, very different from each other, as is the style of racing. The links below have more information.

As far as a job in the motorsports industry, it depends on what you have in mind. The motorsports industry employs all kinds of people, from the drivers, to the mechanics, to the public relations teams.

Who will win the pole at Infineon?

    May be...

  • Marcos Ambrose
  • I agree with whoever said a Gordon front row (Jeff and Robby).
  • Pole: Jeff Gordon
    2nd: Brian Vickers
  • My front row is
    1. Ambrose
    2. McMurray

    What do you think?
  • Boris Said and Juan Pablo Montoya front row.
  • Scott Speed
  • Vickers...
  • jeff gordon(pole)
    robby gordon

    a gordon front row
  • that is a tough one because NASCAR has so many good road course drivers. Ambrose and McMurray are definately contenders along with stewart, montoya,k.busch and j.gordon
  • Greg Biffle
  • Pole: Jeff Gordon
    2nd: Tony Stewart
    3rd: Marcos Ambrose

  • Do you think the F1 and IRL people from Y/A will be watching the race at Sonoma?

    May be...

  • Actually my friend in the UK says that NASCAR is fairly popular over there, especially the road courses. If Sears Point goes green at 1 pm Pacific, that's only 9 pm in the UK, and 10 in most of Europe.

He does go out of his way to point out that *nobody* watches the plate races. It's just too hard to stay awake during those.
  • Good question. I don't know if they will or not but it would be interesting to find out if they do I really hope they enjoy it. You will have to ask this question again after the race ;)

    TGIF!!!
  • Only if they're Racing fans in general. If they only like F1 or Indy they won't watch. They could do what I do and flip over to the Nascar race during IRL commercials.
  • I'm a die hard Nascar fan but since I will be in Sonoma, but the people I'm going with they have a satelitte I'm sure we will be able to catch some of the F1 and Indy car race before the Nascar guys hit the track at Sonoma, But I do have my DVR set here at home for F1 and IRL race.

Go Dale Jr & HMS and Helio & Lewis Hamilton
  • No, but they dont watch F1 or Indy car either, NOBODY does lol
  • I love both. F1 does it for me a little more but Nascar is still pretty cool. Most F1 fans turn their nose up at Nascar and will likely not care about Sonoma. The differences in F1 and Nascar go far beyond the shape of the tracks.

And Jocko Flocko's answer is in a realm far beyond ignorance.
  • Nascar has been putting on races at Sonoma and Watkins Glen for several years now. I don't see that they are making many inroads (if any) with the F1 and IRL people. Each side has some pretty negative stereotypes they are facing in the other side's eyes. Saying racing is racing is like saying that if you like to listen to death metal you should also like classical. After all, it's all music. To each his own. If everyone liked the same things, it would be terribly boring.
  • F1- no. Time difference

ICS/IRL- Probably not. They wouldn't bother with 'Napcar', even if it's a RC.
  • yes i think they will. i think some are nascar fans are indy and f1 fans 2.
  • Will it spark their interest to see how NASCAR does a roadcourse?
I would like to hear their point of view on a comparison on NASCARs attempt to race road course style. Or, maybe we could compare it ourselves!
  • I doubt the open wheel fans would want to watch a NASCAR event even though it is at a road course. Even with the right turns involved, the spirit of stock car racing will be present. We are still going to see some fender rubbing, side-by-side racing, battles for the lead, and more than one lead change during the day. Such a spectacle would cause confusion and disorientation among the F1 fans, and they wouldn't know what to make of it.
  • F1 just went out of business, so some fans may be looking for a new racing series..
  • I doubt it. I don't know why people that like open wheel racing alone don't like stock car racing. It's insane. I grew up at the dirt tracks and loving NASCAR since I was little, and when I saw my first IRL race on TV, I loved it. Then I got to goto one live @ Texas, and I thought they put on a better show than the NASCAR races I've see there. I don't watch the F1 as much, but I do follow the series and see what happens week in, and week out.
  • F1, I doubt it. By the time the race starts in Cali, most of the European races fans are out for the evening, or asleep. I think there is a 12 hour difference in time.

The Indy fans MAY watch, but I'm not hedging any bets on it.
  • Yes we watch them it is racing is it not.fishing loure
  • Who do you think could drive a race car better?

    May be...

  • fluffy
  • a. digger
  • Ding ding ding...

    we have a winner!

    DIGGER!!!
  • LOL!!!!!!! Ya big meanie! JJ can drive, just not ready for cup......JJ wins!
  • I think fluffy would drive better. He's probably better then some of the nascar guys out there too, especially JJ yeley. Go fluffy.
  • A) Digger
    B) JJ Yeley
    C) fluffy
  • D) Helen Keller
  • Thats not even close. fluffy wins in a landslide! Power to the fluff!
  • I'm afraid to vote for Digger because he's always popping up and down. I've never seen fluffy drive soooooooooo I'd have to go with JJ.
    ha ha ha
  • An extremely fit old guy. Not to mention any names, but his initials are Mark Martin. JJ needs some equipment under his ***, Digger freaks and ducks in his hole when the cars are approaching, and fluff, I don't know much about you, but "I don't think so" pretty much sums it up.

How much does NASCAR NATION have laid down on Sonoma?

I've got a sawbuck on Mark in the top 5.
  • Digger is too busy running from greens keeper Carl, Yeley can actually drive a car, got NO idea who fluffy is......Gonnna go with JJ Yeley, baby....wooo hooo!!!!
  • I think I could drive better than Digger he gets run over all the time, JJ can't even make a race and well....Fluffy..let's get us a racecar and see ;)light does not come on

Is this nascars way to weed out the weak and underfunded?

    May be...

  • What I don't understand is why the manufacturer of the engine didn't get penalized? That entity gave paperwork saying the engine was within NASCAR specs so I have a problem with that. You know, I would venture to say the team was NOT cheating - they went on good faith from the manufacturer that the engine was ok.

If anyone was going to pull the wool over NASCAR's eye, then why would Long have given them the engine to inspect IF he KNEW it didn't meet specs? From what I understand, Long could have loaded up and taken the engine home without NASCAR inspecting it.

Then, we come back to Jeremy Mayfield. He failed two drugs tests. Now, he is being accused of using Meth. Who do you believe? Why would a driver screw himself and his team like that when he / she knew that drug tests would be given at random times? There is no way you can know when a drug test is given..........

The whole think is very sad. I feel for the Longs. But what about the manufacturers paperwork????????? What am I missing??????
  • no it isn't.
  • Yet another theory...
  • Sounds like they are weeding.

So they are shooting themselves in the foot.

I wonder if it is because the sales of Carl's "official licensed merchandise" does not sell as well as other drivers?????

I also wonder if they will dole out the same to a more "popular" driver?
  • CONSPIRACY THEORY # 1074
  • That is a whole lot of money and I do believe from such an infraction as that...$200,000 is beyond many of the "weaker" teams grasp.
Wouldn't be nice if there was a fund set up by the NASCAR drivers to donate every once in awhile to help defray the costs of penalties such as this? Too many drivers have spoken out against this overbloated fine. The powers that be in NASCAR are ruining the sport.

and before this it was jeremy mayfield.

is nascar trying to get rid of the weaker teams?u hear nascar talk about helping the single car teams, then they turn around and do this.$200,000............that is alot of money.
like carl said, with this fine it will put his race team out.

now i do realize, the team was caught cheating, intentional or not.
  • It is, but I guarentee that if it was Dale Jr. or another top driver- nothing would happen to them. Instead they would blame the engine builder. Its stupid by NASCAR, but they only care about those top teams- that is where they get the money. I see Jr hats but I dont see Carl Long hats, and that is how NASCAR makes money.
Do you go to a race to see Long? No
Do you go to see Edwards, Stewart, Jr, Gorden, Busch (Your favorite driver)? Yes
  • It sure look like that's what they are doing .

    H E N D R I C K~M O T O R S P O R T S~R U L E S ! ! ! ! !
  • I'm going to have to agree with you on this one. It seems like a mighty stiff fine for that type of an infraction. Eich has a good point too...what about the manufacturer?? Unfortunately the powers that be in Nascar are all about the $$$. Take a look at some of the cars this weekend, there sure aren't the sponsors everywhere on the cars like they have been. I feel bad for the Longs. :(

    Agreed, cheating is cheating.
  • yup i say that makes a good point i believe in conspiracy to save $ and knock out the small guy.
  • I don't completely agree with Nascar, but this time they are caught in the middle. It has long been known that Nascar will in no way, shape, or form, tolerate any kind of cubic inch rule infraction, deliberate or otherwise. If it had been a Ganassi car, or a Hendrick car found to be over the limit, noone would say Boo. But because it's a single guy trying to run on a shoestring, Nascar should change the way it enforces the rules? In this case, no I don't think so. I understand racing is not cheap. If you can't afford to pay, you can't afford to play - it's that simple. Carl Long could have run some ARCA races or done something with a little smaller budget instead of trying to run in the Cup series.
  • No, It's nascar's way of punishing people who CHEAT!! I have no problem with the penalty whatsoever. If you get a speeding ticket, you don't pay more or less depending on how sucessful or rich or poor or poor you are. If this puts his team out of business, so be it. Price you pay for breaking the rules.
  • Nascar should have lowered the fine. They didn't do this purposely to put Long out of business but some flexibility would have been nice.

Mayfield I believe deserves what he is getting.

I'm really disappointed that some of the multi millionaire drivers haven't chipped in to help. Three or four of them could do it easily. What is 50k when you make 15 to 35 million a year?

Long does have a pretty good case for suing Ernie Elliot in court if he has it in writing.
  • I can understand Long's postion but Mayfield did it to himself. Mayfield had no business being on that track plain and simple.find palm zire 71 for sale
  • Does robby gordon get any help?

    May be...

  • I know he's got Toyota's help and I think he gets help from MWR also. Robby will never do good. He's an off-road racer ... not a NASCAR racer.
  • robbie gordon gets help from charity and steals from charity to to make living in nascar.
  • I think he gets some funding from TRD.

But only he knows for sure.
  • Im sure he gets $$$ help from Toyota and gets car info(set up) from the other Toyota teams. Which ones I dont know.
  • If TRD were not giving him help, he would not be running their cars. I imagine he has had a tenuous connection to one of the multi-car Toyota teams. Remember last year when he was running Dodge and tried to get in with Gillett-Evernham, but he did something and ticked them off so badly that they voided the contract? He apparently doesn't work well with others. He is just not much of a Nascar driver although he does really well in off-road and rally-type racing.
  • I think he gets most support from TRD than from MWR, JGR, RBR and JGR
  • does he receive any help from any multi car toyopta program like MWR or JGR,or is he totally on his own?

Do you like it when Jeff Gordon drives the Nicorette car, because he looks like a little leprechaun?

  • Sissy Nascar, the only man''s sport where men are concerned how a participant in the sport looks..
  • His "pot of gold" is hidden in Jimmy Johnson's RV.
  • No. The pot of gold you are talking about is that Jimmy Johnson's wife? Becuase she is hot.
  • I did like the paint scheme. Don't appreciate the question.
  • He does not! He looks like Rock Rockstone from the Flinstones!!!!
  • Uh, Jeff isn't sponsored by Nicorette anymore, so I can't say that I do. But I liked it when he drove for Nicorette because Nicorette's NASCAR sponsorship helped a lot of people in the garage area quit smoking.
  • No. I like when Jeff Gordon drives the Nicorette car, because all those hot babes I see look stupid smoking cigarettes

  • Who owns the track in Mexico where Carlos Pardo died?

    May be...

  • While I find it almost impossible to answer any of your question I might can leave you with a thought. A few years back the FIA insisted on the same track making some improvements and they did. So how that relates to your answer is I think NASCAR could have easily requested the same improvements to be made to the track in Mexico. However ... the track would be under the laws of Mexico and not the United States so I'm sure Mexico would not have the same liability laws as the U.S. would. It also seems the car's frame is not the same as the American cars. It didn't hold up very well to the impact. The name of the track is "Autodromo Miguel E. Abed" and I could find no information on the ownership of the track.

You might try this email and asking who owns the track

  • 5. The Safer Barrier would not be installed in that location.
  • 2.) Was it just a NASCAR race on a Mexican track and therefore didn't have to be up to code as the American NASCAR tracks??
3.) Do the cars have the same safety equipment that American NASCAR has?
4.) Is it mandatory for the drivers to wear a Hans device?
5.) Since it is a NASCAR race shouldn't there have been safer barriers??

The car just exploded into pieces and I have seen worse wrecks in American NASCAR. It just seemed the car wasn't built as safe.
    RIP Carlos
  • good question maggie..............if u did notice, there were water barrels at the end of the wall, nascar tracks in the states have those also.i think kansas(?)not sure, but i do remeber when kenseth hit one, also mikey waltrip did also.

i would guess that the race being sanctioned by nascar that the drivers have to wear the hans device also(not sure)

not all of nascar's tracks have the safer barrier on the inside retaining wall............maybe they should though.

did u know that chad little is the director of racing devolopment there

The NASCAR Corona Series was formed in 2004 as a joint partnership with NASCAR and is one of two NASCAR-sanctioned international series, the other one being the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

here are a few links on the subject
  • Good question, and I wish I had an answer. I read somewhere on the 'net that track officials had warned the drivers to maintain their line in that area of the track because they knew it was particularly dangerous at that location. But that didn't come from an official source. I know the track didn't have safer barriers and the cars are not COTs, but that wall should not have been there at that angle and exposed. It just shouldn't have been. NASCAR has seen what an impact at that angle looks like (Michael Waltrip at Bristol) and the least they could have done was added more safety measures there. Geez.

I went to YouTube and read the comments made in Spanish. A lot of the people in Mexico are VERY upset that the track was so poorly designed. It is clear by their comments that they are upset about how things are done in Mexico. Apparently safety doesn't rank very high for racing officials in Mexico. Edgar Matute is the guy they are blaming for the accident on that track. I don't know if he's the track owner or an official, but he declared that track safe, and obviously it is not. The people are very upset that Mexico doesn't get the same attention to safety that NASCAR in the USA does. If NASCAR is going to put its name on that racing series, then they need to get it together. NASCAR has blood on its hands because of this.usairways boarding pass

  • i really dont know for sure but one time me and my dad were buying furniture in dover from johnny jonasiks lol and it was right near the track so we went over to it, he knows i like nascar (he doesnt...oh well) and the gates were open so we could go in and even walk around the track. there was like one guy that we saw working at the time and he didnt mind. i didnt go far just walked on the banking a little to see what it was like, we were only there for like 15 mins but it was fun.
  • They do. Here's a couple of links that I hope will work for you.

  • Does anyone know who this is? (i have a pics)?

    May be...

  • Hillary Duff silly! She was Grand Marshall for the Nationwide race.
  • Who is the blonde girl in this pic?
    http://www.dalejr.com/indexSmall.html#mu...
Brad looks happy to see her!
  • i think it is one of the tisdale twins!
  • you took me to dale jr's page.
    um what???
  • It's Hillary Duff
Soldiers Mom, she isn't pictured with Dale Jr, that is Brad K and I don't think that junya is a playa, not with the ladies anyway.
CMT cribs is staged for publicity.
  • All I saw was the 88 car and she hasn't won anything in a while.
  • You know that is Hilary Duff in the background. But Junior is a Playa and usually does have girls around. Did you see his corvette mechanics on CMT Cribs.
  • that is hilary duff! She was the grand marshall for the race this past saturday on the 13th
if you go to one of her fan websites there are more pictures of her at the race
    http://www.hilarynews.com/2009/06/15/hil...
  • If you are referring to the pic of Brad greeting the blonde on the stage, that is actress Hilary Duff. She was the grand marshall for the Nationwide Series race at Kentucky last Saturday night. Here are some other pics of her from the track's website.

  • Do you think Joey Logano will become a great racer one day?

    May be...

  • Yes. I think everyone has a chance to become a really good race car driver, if provided the equipment, just look at Jimmie Johnson. Joey has top notch equipment and a good crew chief. Things will click, and by this time next year, Joey should be well in the chase.
  • I think he will. Most folks like him too.
  • I think he will do well if the media will just let him learn to blend into the race.
  • I think so. At the start of the season I didn't think he was living up to the hype, but as the season has gone on he has shown improvement. Give him a couple seasons to really get into it and he could be a top competitor.
  • For me he is not living up to the hype but this is his first year and he is seeing some of these tracks for the first time. I can't really say if he will be great but I think there is potential for anyone who is driving a Gibbs car to be good. We will just have to wait and see.
  • I do not see why not. He won only his third Nationwide start ever. He is on a super team with an excellent crew chief. And he has caught onto the Sprint Cup car more quickly than a lot of the established drivers did. He has had several very good finishes this year, more often than not on the lead lap. He definitely has the potential for a great career.
  • Give Joey a few more years to experience the tracks and he will show more of himself...

Give Joey Mark Martin's spot at HMS after he retires and then we will see what Joey can do...

In 10 years, Joey Logano will be a great driver.. the next Jimmie Johnson, I bet... cause honestly, I don't see a Jeff Gordon or a Tony Stewart in him... or even a Kyle Busch (the aggressive-ness)
  • I think he WILL be great one day.
He got thrown in cup before he was ready.
But hes holding his own and learning.

    And thank God for Zippy.
  • will joey logano become a great racer one day350z vs wrx
  • What Nascar drivers either active or retired have their pilot license?

    May be...

  • Elliott, Martin, Wallace, Edwards, Biffle, Burton, Kenseth and McMurray are a few. That's from an old article, so there's probably more by now. They love going fast, on land or in the air. : )
  • I think Jack Roush makes it mandatory
  • Janet Guthrie,

    Bill Elliott

    Carl Edwards, (I think).

    Davey Allison (helicopter license)
  • mark martin
    carl edwards
    dale earnhardt sr
    rusty wallace
    greg biffle
  • I think going back to Curtis Turner, and Joe Weatherly who few to races together, in separate twin engine Pipers, landing on the highways near Esso stations to pick up road maps (and bottles of bourbon), on the way to, and from races.. There was Bobby Allison who was an aircraft dealer, selling fast twin engine planes (AeroStar) (he used to land on the track at Pocono).. Davey of course, Rusty Mark, Carl, Matt, and oh yeah, flyin' Ryan..
Edit: I don't think Dale had a pilots license.. He did have a good size fleet of aircraft though.. A few King Airs, and a Saber Liner.. He bought the Saber Liner because folks teased him about not having a jet.. He still ran around in a King Air, with a black tail, and the tail number 3..
  • alan kulwiki and davey allison both had them. that's how they both died. carl edwards, hmm, i'm drawing a blank, but there are several others.
  • I know that Carl Edwards has his pilot license.
  • Rusty Wallace does,I think he has a flying service in St. Louis
    Carl Edwards does.
    Dale Sr.did
There are different pilot License-like reg. drivers license and C.D.L.s(with Automobiles)
and I think maybe Rusty Wallace has the only multi-Engine license.

I'll bet there are a lot of them tho.
most of them seem to be thrill seekers anyway.
  • Darrell Waltrip. I think.telnet ipaq
  • Does anyone know what hospital Johnny Benson is in?

    May be...

  • And have you heard any new information about his condition? I'm very concerned for him because the injuries I heard about were burns and broken ribs. I worked in a hospital for many years and know that burns can be devastating, even fatal. Let's continue to pray for him (if you are so inclined).
  • WHAT???!??!?!?!??!?!?!? Johnny Benson's in the hospital!!!! Again!!!!!!
(2002, broke ribs in a crash at Daytona). Gee, that sucks. I hope he gets better. He deserves a ride in any series.
  • Per espn:
Benson is in serious but stable condition at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids but "is expected to be fine," according to WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids.
  • This is the most recent info I've seen about JB's condition:

    http://jbfc.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/...

I've also heard that he was burned and has at least one broken rib; possibly some lung damage. If so, it'll be a painful recovery. But I'm very inclined to pray for him as well!sat nav kits

NASCAR Nation: What was your 1st Job ever?

    May be...

  • My first job was as a dishwasher for a small restaurant in town. I had to do a lot of other little jobs around the place too and I got paid minimum wage (which I think was $5.15 when I started working).
  • Jewelry counter at Rose's Department Store.

    I think I made 4.00/hr. I'm not sure. It's been a long time <LOL.>
  • I was a waitress in a steak house after school. My pay depended upon how generous my customers were feeling that day.
Good luck at NAPA! I know you'll do a great job. Soon you'll know everything about every auto part, just like Michael and Ron in the commercials. : )
  • Well, does babysitting count??? If not I have never had a job.

I got paid anywhere from $5-10 an hour. I love babysitting! I miss it.
  • MY first job was in 1996 at the age of 14. I worked at Steak N Shake for $4.25 an hour.
  • After a delivery boy for a grocer (on foot), I guess my first tax paying job was for a department store that no longer exists, for 85 cents an hour.. We were so happy when the minimum wage went up to a whole dollar an hour..
  • If mowing the lawn of my neighbor counts, then I've had a job for 3 years. If not, then just today I started working at a hospital in our area, volunteering, for community service and college applications. Have fun, and GO REUTIMANN MAKE THE CHASE!!!!!!!!!
  • my first job was painting and decaling lexan bodies for r/c cars to look like the nascar drivers cars for a hobby shop. it was fun, good luck at napa auto parts.
i got paid $20.00-$25.00 from the owner of the hobby shop, then when someone bought the body i would get paid half of what the price was, they usually sold for $45.00-$50.00 each,so i would make about $50.00 all together for each body i painted.
  • Cleaning up Whiskey River on Sunday nights after junebug gets smashed. He paid me $2 for the whole nite.
  • im still 16, im on my 2nd job now. first I worked at ACE Hardware, i can honestly say from experience what a sh*t hole from an employee standpoint. but now i work at safeway, its not great but its ok for now.

ace- 6.55/hr (now you understand why i hate'd it)
safeway- 7.30 started out, now 7.50 and i've been there for 2 months.
  • Hello Mikey
Congrats on your new job, I'm proud of ya.
My very first job(real job) was working at a used car lot at age 16.
and I made some serious money I think 1.00 per hour
things have changed big time hunnh.
  • My first real job was with Allied Auto Parts. I delivered parts to garages and was paid $2.15 an hour which was better than minimum wage. It was an okay job, most of the mechanics I met were shocked that a girl would get that job but they were nice and respectful towards me. Congrats on your Napa job, I hope you like it.
  • i worked on a cattle ranch first..........making $6/h.........

alot of money for a high school kid back in 1987

    i had to feed,brand,medicate,tag,artificial inseminate,and palpate cattle.........just to name a few...........mow,weedeat,catch critters.........
  • Construction in 1960 if i remember it was .65 a hr. I was the clean up boy LOL
  • When I was 16 or 17 my Mom helped me get a summer job working in the kitchen of the hospital where she worked. We set up all the patients' trays for their meals, and then afterwards gathered them all up and put them through a huge conveyer belt type dishwasher.

I have no idea how much I made. Minimum wage, whatever that was back the the 70's.

Good luck with your job! I hope you like it.

Scott Johnson: SORRY! I was aiming for the thumbs up and missed! Brain/mouse finger coordination is off today! I hate it when I do that! :-(
  • Congrats Mikey,my first one was at Popeyes Fried Chicken making 2.65 an hour and it was the worst job I ever had.

    H E N D R I C K~M O T O R S P O R T S~R U L E S ! ! ! ! !
  • Awesome job dude, do your best.

My first job was at a local grocery store doing produce.
  • My first job was working at a HEB, which is a grocery store.
    :)
My times varied week to week.
And I started off with $8.50, later on it jumped up to about $10 an hour.

    Congratulations!
And I am sure you'll have a lot of fun working there.
    :D
  • I worked for a feed store during the summer and on Saturdays. I was paid somewhere around $4.75 a hour. Congrats on the new job!
  • Uh... I just started it today =D

Office assistant for the school. Work 8am - 4:30pm for $7.25 an hour (not counting the 30 minute lunch).
  • Of course, I did some babysitting, but my first real job was working in the dining room at the Boone Tavern Hotel in Berea, KY. It was a student job, so I made next to nothing. I hate working with food! But I have a much better job these days working at a home improvement store (not represented by any drivers).
  • working on a farm picking produce $3.75 to start.
  • First "job" was delivering newspapers.

Got paid like 2 cents each daily paper and 10 cents for Sundays, plus tips.

First "real" job, grocery dept at the local "Shop-Rite".

    Starting wages were $1.70/hr. (1977)

Can you get me a hydralic timing belt tensioner?????
  • I'm starting tomorrow June 16th at NAPA Auto Parts.
    Work from 8am - 2pm

How much did you get paid?

Working under the colors of Michael Waltrip Racing!

    Take Care
  • I worked in a barrel factory over the summer during college. Made decent money for the time. That was over 30 years ago. I still use some of the barrels as garbage cans.
  • I worked as a dishwasher at a steak house, fun job the opening night the drain pipe for the machine burst and flooded the place. I'm not sure now(it was over 20 yrs ago), but I think I was making about $4/hr. Later nailed the place for violating child labor laws(I wasn't supposed to be working until 1:30 am).
  • Technically my first job was mowing lawns in the neighborhood. My first realy job in high school was at a drug store/convenience store called Pharmhouse. They are no longer in business these days though. Got paid $5.15 or whatever minimum wage was back then. They let me write my own schedule though which was nice.
  • I sold race programs at "The Rock", and I also did that at Darlington also. That was soooooooooo long ago I can't remember what I made. Congrats on your new job, I know you will do Napa Proud.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I worked in the strawberry fields picking berries for 20 cents a quart...all day long everyday as long as their were berries. Didn't see a cent of that money. Also...babysat, and at 16 got my first paying job washing dishes for a local restaurant for $35 for Saturday and Sunday. Had to hand over that money too.
My first job that I received a paycheck for and actually got to keep the money...was for a babyfood company and I was making $5.67 an hour. I was just on my own then. I was pretty happy and pretty proud of that paycheck.
  • Good Luck and enjoy your first paycheck-
I cleaned motel rooms for 3.65 dollars an hour in the late 70's. i grew up in a summer beach community so that is where most of us started our job experiences.
  • Way cool to be working at a gear-head heaven! A thousand years ago, back when minimum wage was $1.25 an hour, my first part-time job was as a retail clerk at F.W. Woolworth's.
  • I tried to be a Gynecologist but that did not pan out.a hartd
  • If you were going to rob a bank...?

    May be...

  • Brian Vickers - Drive Us there
Scott Speed - Posing for the Cameras lol
Marcos Ambrose - Get us into the building
Robby Gordon - Tell everyone to get down
AJ Allmendinger - Help Rob the Place
  • 1 Kasey Kahne = Driver
#2 Fedor Emelianenko = Muscle (crowd control)
#3 Bill Goldberg = Muscle (front door eyes and crowd control)
#4 Jackie Chan = (take care of all the cameras in the bank then all the cashiers)
#5 Michael Clarke Duncan (demolition expert would take care of the vault)
  • Tony Stewart...the mastermind. Need I say more?

Getaway car...Kyle Busch, he will get us out or kill us all trying...

Mark Martin, help with the hold up...for credibility at our trial, nobody would believe he done it.

Kenny Wallace...comic relief, we will need a laugh to stay calm

Dale,Jr....if we get caught, we will need a patsy to take the fall...
  • What 5 drivers would you hire for your crew and what job would they have?
  • Kenny Wallace as a distraction
Tony Stewart to drive the get away car.
Jeff Burton to be the leader because he is calm and cool.
Elliott Sadler to be the first with the gun- putting his hunting style to use
Mark Martin- he lives in a fly in community so his airplane is always close by to get us to the islands.
  • Kyle Busch: to lie to the cops if we got caught.
Dale Jr.: To break into the vault
Robby Gordon: To be the fall guy and take the guilty verdict.
Kyle Petty: To take the money to Victory Junction Gang camp where it would do the most good.
Jimmie Johnson: To drive the getaway car.
  • chuck norris to kill people
fat albert to sit on people
    my dog because its awsome
    my other dog too
me cuz i need the money

    :D
  • Ryan would be the brains of the operation
Kasey would be the guy that went to the teller to tell her/him they are being robbed
Reed and Elliott would stuff the money in bags
Tony would drive the get away car
  • Dale Jr - distracts crowd
Newman - mastermind, has a degree, is actually smart
    Hamlin - steals the money
    Ky. Busch - getaway driver
Edwards - kills people when necessary
  • 1) Ryan Newman> He has a college degree from Purdue and has a engineering background so I would use him to figure out where would be the best way to go in and go out. Look for shortcuts in and around the bank.

    2) Kasey Kahne> I would use Kasey as the guy who goes up to the tellers with the note that says "it's a hold-up, everybody get down" The reason being Kasey also no one would think he a bank robber. He is too innocent looking.

    3) Jeff Burton> I would Jeff as the lookout guy at the front of the bank and look out for the cops & US Marshall's.

    4) Clint Bowyer> I would use Clint to be the "loose cannon" guy that yells at everyone and escorts the bank manager to the vault. Gotta have a intimidating guy to enforce my rules.

    5) Kyle Busch> Gotta have someone who drives the get away car. I need someone that can drive faster than a "greased cheetah on a bullet train".
  • Outside the bank, Danica Patrick rips off her clothes to reveal a stunning leather bikini and yells, "Hey everybody! Look at me! I'm going to NASCAR!" Reporters and police personnel flock to her side, while inside the bank...

Carl Edwards has just locked the bank doors and is now flexing his muscles and looking menacing. He orders everybody to get down and no one will get hurt. Nobody is sure whether to trust him. He seems like a nice guy, but...

Elliott Sadler shoots out the surveillance cameras and is covering the cowering hostages with two guns, one in each hand. He also has a crossbow behind his back.

Tony Stewart is yelling at the teller to give him the money now! NOW! Weeping, the terrified teller stuffs bags with cash.

Outside Kyle Busch is waiting in a M&Ms candy truck. No one suspects this is the getaway vehicle. Once they've gotten away, he'll smash it and any other incriminating evidence. They'll keep some M&Ms and Snickers for snacks later.
  • Ryan Newman- mastermind
    Kasey Kahne- distraction
    Carl Edwards- muscle
    Kyle Busch- getaway driver
    David Stremme- look out
  • 1. Michael Waltrip, to distract the security guards with his "guy next door" appeal.

    2. Ryan Newman as the brain/technology guy to get into the bank past the security.

    3. Tony Stewart as the leader. ( I just laugh picturing him having a mini-me).

    4. Kyle Busch as the getaway driver.

    5. Mark Martin as the distraction/decoy.
  • Robby Gordon
    Tony Stewart
    Scott Bloomquist
    John Force
    Gary Wright

    Just my personal
  • -David Ragen with the UPS truck. he'll be the getaway driver.

-Michael Waltrip he'll crash a car out in the parking lot. this would distract people inside the bank to go outside and see what's happening, and leave the money inside the bank unattended.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. he's the most popular driver, so maybe he'll use his popularity to his advantage and be outside giving autographs and meeting any and all fans.

-Tony Stewart, and Jimmie Johnson would go inside and grab the unattended money and get out.
  • Ryan Newman- the planner
Tony Stewart- the get away driver
Mike Skinner- the muscle (he looks intimidating)
Jeff Burton- the lookout for the fuzz, heat, cops, etc.
Robby Gordon- the guy who watches the hostages
  • Stealing is wrong Sukka!radiator leaks on drivers side
  • I wanna get into watching Fromula 1 Racing?

    May be...

  • F1 is not that confusing and if you have a good commentary team on the TV channel you watch it on, then they should explain what is happening regarding rules and refueling etc. As to what TV channel it is on, that depends on which country you are in, here in Australia it is on ONE HD, in England it is on ITV i think, iam sure BBClost the rights this year. You should check out the F1 website for when and where each race is and then check your local TV guides.
    The F1 link is below
  • Here's a good sight to let you know when it's on if your in Canada or the US

What are the flaps that the drivers use in Nascar for?

    May be...

  • They allow the air to pass through the car instead of lifting it up.

Blow on a piece of paper, then blow on a window screen. Same principle.
  • It's the small flaps on top of the cars( I think its two) that I have seen drivers open when they spin out or crash.
  • Those roof flaps (as they are called) deploy in order to create drag to keep the car from getting air borne.
  • they come up as a safety procaution. it helps slow the car down and it also keeps the car on 4 wheels and keeps it from flipping most of the time. although sometimes they do not work 100%
  • http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roof_flap
  • They are called Roof Flaps, and they open by themselves when the car gets sideways or turned around.

The driver has no control over when they open or not.

Once the car is back going in the proper direction they close by them selves, usually.

it is to keep the car on the ground and not to flip over.
  • It is to allow the car to get air into it at high speeds to avoid them from getting airborne and flipping..car ferry seattle victoria
  • What did you think of Elliot's 12th place finish?

    May be...

  • I'm already thinking about Infineon and the double file restarts.Congrats to Sadler
  • Great job to Elliott Sadler! Nice job!

I had to think a bit because I immediately thought of Bill Elliott, who finished 16th, which is also a good run!
  • He did the best out of my fantasy picks and the only one that did good and I ended up finishing last in my league FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW.
  • how bout that robby gordon fella...........19th

oh yea elliot sadler..........where did he finish?

  • Umm... definitely Surprising. Also a Shout out to the Wood Brothers on there 16th place. Great Run Bill!
  • Wooo-Hooo. He is looking good. Congrats to Elliot.

  • Did he wash them down with AMP ( Another Mediocre Performance)?
  • Coming into the pit, Jr. bends down to find his bag of M & M's, roars right on past his pit..that is the most logical explanation I have ever heard..should say he sits on them, then that could be his excuse also...the stupid guitar belonged to Kyle, it is his business? get over it...Sam Bass has more publicity now that he could ever pay for..
  • That's was a put-down for Kyle.. Jimmie is a long time Jr fan..
And that was not a guitar, and not a trophy.. That was a one of a kind work of art, and you have to be trailer-trash not to understand that..
