Yeah I am going go w/ no on that and say KB
  • Well to be fare and answer your question, Kasey Kahne is going to win!

    GENTLEMAN, S T A R T, Y O U R , E N G I N S !!!!!!!!
  • I'd pick Jr even if he wasn't my favorite driver. He's got a big talent for plate racing. I'm all atwitter!!! This ARCA race is nuts! Peace y'all.
  • I don't know why, but I've got a good feeling about Mr. Biffle. Hope that doesn't jinx him. lol

EDIT: Darn, I did jinx him. : (
Congrats to Harvick, though!card city gift national visa
  • My son wants to be a nascar driver but where can i find a track in new haven ct?

    May be...

  • Not in New Haven, but Thompson is pretty close...
I haven't been there for a while, but it's been a well run,
and popular track for quite some time...
Stop by a local speed shop, and you may be able to
    get a schedule of events...
If you would rather go north west instead of north east,
Lime Rock Park is about the most popular road courses
in the north eastern US.. I think they even have a driving
    school there...
  • Lime Rock is the closest NASCAR sanctioned track to you. They run what used to be called Busch North series there, not sure what it is called now. But their website will have information. It is a road course, and they run lots of other forms of racing there. It is a good place to look into. There might be something he can do to get the experience needed to work his way up the NASCAR. You can't just say I want to race NASCAR and fill out an application. It takes years of dedication and lots of money to work your way to that level.
  • I don't get the correlation there. How is the track going to make someone a NASCAR driver. If it worked like that, anyone would or could be a NASCAR driver. Good luck with the "track"

  • Petty cars in Shootout?

    May be...

  • I've been wondering about that myself. It must have something to do with the changes in how the Bud Shootout drivers are chosen. He still refuses to allow the Budweiser logos on his cars. At one time, I believe that was a requirement to be in the Shootout (or Busch Clash).

"Also, according to ESPN, Petty insisted that the 43 and 44 cars would not carry a logo for Budweiser, one of the GEM sponsors, in keeping with the Petty tradition of not being associated with alcoholic-beverage sponsors."
  • I believe it is because he don't run the team anymore. He only retains a minority share, so he has no say in it.
  • Petty has never run Budweiser decals on his car AND still don't due to his convictions. That's why he never ran in the shootout even when his cars won poles... .Hamlton, Andretti, etc. He always declined.

This year....Coors Light sponsors the pole award so thus the Bud Shootout will not contain Coors Light pole winners. For this year Bud wanted the top 6 cars from each mfg....regardless. #43 AND #44 qualify because they were both in the top 6 for Dodge. The decals ran in 2008 are no longer an issue under the new rules thus the reason of why they are in the Shootout.

The reason why Petty accepted this year...is because Budweiser didn't force him to run their decals in their new agreement with GEM.
Petty has always said he would love to run his car in the Shootouts BUT he didn't want to run Bud or any other beer decals on his car.
That's why and the only why they are in the race. If they made every car in the field have Bud decals....then the #43 and #44 would be pulled out by Richard.

    Just an opinion as always.
  • I believe it had to do with Points, points that where bought or transferred somewhere at sometime!

All the points changes mess a lot of stuff up if you ask me!
  • How come Richard Petty allowed the 43 and 44 to be in the Bud Shootout this year when he wouldn't in years past?
  • Because "The King" sold his name..
  • I think it is because it is now a manufacturer deal. You don't want to represent your manufacturer, then we'll see what your manufacturer does for you, type of thing. If no cars (Dodges) from RPM entered the race, they wouldn't have enough Dodges to fill up the 7 spots.over the raibow
  • Nascar Nation? What do you think of the retro #44?

    May be...

  • I love it it looks cool. I love AJ too.
  • Im down with the retro paint scheme. Blue is my favorite color and Petty Blue is a shade that I like and have always liked. Im just not a fan of AJ.
  • Its super cool, I love retro looking cars, theres nothing like Petty Blue thats my favorite shade of blue, my mom nearly killed me when I painted my bedroom that color when I was 14.. I think Reed might hit victory lane quicker than AJ.. I can just see King Richard in tears now when that #43 gets back to victory lane. But the #44 car is cool, yes its about time the Petty Blue is out on the track again.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • 1 love the paint schemes, glad they put the Petty blue somewhere!

    # 2 And I love the fact that PETTY and his #'s are part of the team, I think we needed someone like KING PETTY in our corner!

    # 3 If I were a betting man I would put my money on Reed, only for the fact that he has more experience! Yes, A.J. did good the last 4-5 races, BUT that's only 4-5 races, theirs a lot more races in a season!!!
  • I like it. I like retro paint schemes, so I'm glad to see it on the track. It's just as nice as Kyle's old car. http://www.mopardealer.com/79arca200magn...

I definitely think Reed can get the #43 in victory lane. He's a talented driver and I think it's time for him to have his breakout year. He's starting third tomorrow night, so maybe he can do well in the Shootout. I don't know about A.J. since he doesn't have a full schedule in the works, but maybe he will do well in the Shootout with the retro paint scheme.
  • They have come up with a retro paint scheme for the #44 Valvoline Dodge for AJ. It's very similar to the paint scheme of Kyle Petty's ARCA car back in 79 when he won his very race that he entered.
So Valvoline and Petty have history winning together. So here's my question....what do you think of the retro paint scheme? Do you think Reed in the #43 or AJ in the #44 can return Valvoline to victory lane??

    http://www.jayski.com/schemes/2009/44cup...
  • I love the new paint scheme and AJ will beat Reed to the finish line any day. Sorry Jeff I can see by your number you are a Reed fan but that is how I feel.
  • Yeah I gotta say I do like it. Who knows what will happen.... I for one would like to see some different winners now and then...
Although it would be great for my favorite drivers to win lots of races this yr. lol lol lol
    Let's Go RACIN'!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • It's one of those schemes that is so incredibly bland and simple that it looks amazing.
  • That retro car is
    U
    G
    L
    Y
I like the regular one a lot, they ruined it with this one. I think Reed will get Valvoline in Victory Lane.
  • I like it better than the normal paint, but it is still lacking something to really make it wow me.
  • Looks cool to me. I hope both the #43 and #44 get back in victory lane.
  • I thought it was a pretty sharp looking ride. It's nice to see a car every now and then that brings back memories of NASCAR days of old.
  • Its ok I just think that red square logo conflicts with the petty blue.

When Petty had STP, It also had red racing stripes so it blended better
  • Looks good. I'd bank on AJ, but that's just me..
  • I like it . Almost took me back 30 years..
  • It's nice. "Dinger" will do good in it ALL season.
  • It looks pretty cool to me! I like it!
  • It depends on how Boston Ventures spends their money. The cars have to be good before the driver can be good. I would probably be grinning just as big as you if the #43 ended up in victory lane but the only way we will find out is watch the race each week and see if they improve. Even though he's not my favorite driver I still like Petty Enterprises. I remember back in the early 70's watching Richard dominate the tracks. He was really my first memorable NASCAR figure as a kid and seeing his cars back in victory lane would be great. Also I really like the paint schemes. It's like Dale Jr did with the 2 tone colors that resembled some of the old 60's style cars from back in the days.
  • I hope the Pettys do well,
    they deserve it
but it's gonna be a tough year for a lot of teams
  • It looks a lot better than the 43 lol.Sorry but it just looks weird seeing a red 43 with McDonalds on the hood.A.J. did really well in practice tonight.Maybe he ut that car up front a lot ,get some additional sponsorship, and possibly find victory lane in 2009.graphing calculator for palm tungsten e

Of the four drivers at RPM, How do you think the finishing order will be for them?

    May be...

  • Elliott will finish highest, then Kasey then AJ and last Reed. What do you guys think?
  • I think you nailed it.
I thought you meant for Daytona not season, in that case you have to put Reed ahead of AJ. Unless AJ does manage to get full time sponsorship (which someone mentioned) then maybe you do have it right, but I dont think he will be able to make all the races.
  • I love AJ but he is only running part time so he will be at the bottom. I am not sure what order the other three would be in. They all seem equal talent wise so they could end up in any order.
  • Kasey
    AJ
    ? Flip a coin..probably Sadler, then Sorenson.
  • Umm
I think, Elliott then kasey, reed and AJ

Theirs no way AJ will do better than Reed because Aj is only doin 8 races and Reeds doing the whole season
  • Kasey as usual this year. Why is everyone so sure that AJ won't have a sponsor after his trial period. I think he will and I think he'll be good. Just sayin. It's a good question. Why all the hate?

    Kasey
    AJ
    Sadler
    Reed.

    I speak the obvious. lol
  • Ok, if you mean by season's end......

I will say Kasey; Reed; Elliott; and AJ.

Doubt AJ will race the entire season....unless sponsorship can be found. I think with their problems in the off season I doubt Elliott will be
a contender this year. (No offense Prez)

    Just an opinion as always.
  • 1. Sorenson
    2. Sadler
    3. Kahne
    4. AJ
  • 1. #9
    2. #43
    3. #19
    4. #44
  • Just in general in any race or season points I would put Reed in front of A. J.
  • I think you are right and AJ will be picked up to run the whole season.
  • Alright you dumb troll, AJ's in only 8 races. If I had a damn crystal ball, I'd tell you but I don't. Go ahead, thumbs down me and report me you old hag.

  • Has any driver won a NASCAR cup race with an automatic transmission?

    May be...

  • OK first of all to all those that said NASCAR doesn't use automatic transmissions (or laughed at this question), I just want to let you know your ignorance is showing.

As for the question read the following:
According to Bill France, no car with an automatic transmission has ever placed in the money in a NASCAR event, though many have been entered since the No-Left-Foot Polka became Detroit’s theme song. All top racing Olds and Caddies have synchromesh transmissions. According to Daytona Beach time trials, synchromesh Caddies are more than five miles an hour faster than those with Hydra-Matic. (Thought you’d like to know.)
  • I've never heard of it. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened but I've never heard of it. Heat would be the number one problem with an automatic transmission. The cars generate so much heat that they would probably cause an automatic transmission to fail. It would also limit the amount of tape they could put on the grills. It would be okay for a short run but an endurance race of 500 miles would be very hard on the transmission.

I would like to see automatic transmissions used on the road courses.
  • If someone did who was it ?
  • they don't have Automatic trannys.
  • Thanks for the laugh, I do not thing they allow Auto T on the NASCAR circuit.
  • They do not race with auto transmissions in NASCAR.
  • Nobody has ever won a CUP race but the old Caddies and Oldsmobiles had automatic transmissions.

Some cars with performance automatic transmissions (Turbo 350 in Chevys) are used at local NASCAR tracks.
  • I believe manual was the only option as far as transmissions when NASCAR started. Since then of course automatic has been developed but NASCAR race cars have never been (nor will ever be) equipped with automatic transmissions
  • Autos are too slow, I wouldn't imagine any team would use them. It's possible maybe they were used in the 40's and 50's but not likely. Maybe someone else knows.notebook fan site
  • Are you confused by all the points shuffling?

    May be...

  • Appalled really, very unsportsmanlike conduct. But then again, this is apparently big business rather than a sport, so they say.
  • I'm not confused just annoyed. NASCAR has to put an end to the point swapping/selling. If a team changes completely I can understand the points going to the new team replacing it.
  • It has been confusing. The points standings have changed more than Obama's cabinet nominee's. J/K!! Its a joke! LOL
  • Definitely ,they should put an end to the madness !
  • I am confused but this year is no different than other years. I have given up on trying to figure everything out and I just basically wait until the duels are over and they tell me who is actually in the 500.

I do however think that all the shuffling for points should not be allowed. it just seems wrong to me.
  • All I know is that my drivers are IN =D
  • Compare the owner's points standings at the end of 2008 to the standings right now.
  • YEP GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRremove services from windows
  • For those who watched the Bud Shootout drawing last night...?

    May be...

  • I would have to say Elliott Sadler could be a threat. The man has a army of 75 hound dogs(Bassett) and a gun. LOL

    Paul Menard drew P-1.
  • Do you *really* think Sadler is a threat to homeland security???? :)

Who drew the pole? My son fell asleep before the end of it and I missed it because I was putting him to bed and taking care of some laundry and stuff.

    Thanks! :)
  • Nah, no threat to homeland security.....just to a pack of Oscar Meyer bologna....but not to homeland security.

Paul Menard got the pole. But hopefully the #19 and #43 can team up and blow him away on lap 1.

    Just an opinion as always.
  • Menard got the pole, Elliott was making a joke I am sure it was a glitch
  • Paul Menard got the pole.

ANd I seriously doubt that Sadler is a threat to Homeland security.
    Just a little mix up.
  • Elliott is definitely not a threat to Homeland Security. Paul Menard got the pole.
  • That was funny....yeah Elliot had troubles with his passport earlier but got it straightened out. No threat to homeland security but I hope he is somewhat of a threat on the track this season.

Paul Menard drew the Pole kind of late in the drawing too.
  • The guy with the goofy sideburns and Daddy's money................

Elliott was cracking a joke about his passport....................
  • Menard won the pole
  • That made me laugh, "They thought I was a threat to homeland security for a while."

    Menard on pole!!!
  • Menard got the pole!

And the Elliot Saddler thing goes back to when he just got married he had lost his passport to go on his honeymoon! So someone decided to play a prank and say that HE IS A THREAT TO HOMELAND SECURITY!!!
  • Yeah it was Menard, but your boy starts 2nd! Bobby starts 8th, I'm happy with that!how to make a california roll
  • In NASCAR are all vehicles required to be insured?

    May be...

  • I don't think so......but it was very interesting I was watching SPEED interview Tony Stewart tonight. During the interview Tony was interupted by some light music playing in the background. He paused and said "What is that?" John Roberts leaned over and whispered that Tony is the money YOU COULD be saving if you switched to GEICO!
Tony turned around and there on a seat behind was a stack of cash with googly eyes singing....."I always feel like....someone's watching me!"

    Just an opinion as always.
  • I sure would hate to pay there BILL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Nationwide is never on Mikey's side.
  • Yes, I am pretty certain that they do have to be insured.
  • That would be funny, I'd hate to be Michael Watrip's Insurance adjustor
  • I don't think that was ever a requirement, but it is available..
The teams have liability insurance though..
  • They are not street legal so they arent insured by auto insurance, the insurance is from a piece of equipment owned by a company/corporation etc.
  • Lol, he'd never shut up about it either.

You: So, uh, are you insured?
Him: Well, I've just got to thank NASCAR and their Godliness for keeping me safe, I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have Mike Helton to suck up to.
You: Yeah, but, do you have insurance?
    Him: No............(hangs head)

Which car would win in a race?

    May be...

  • After discussing this with my dad, he said that the Acura would win because it has more torque than the Nissan.
  • Yeah I'd say the Nissan

Lighter + Virtually the same BHP
  • Depends on the driver! :)

Although the Vigor has an extra cylinder, I would think it would lead off the line, then the Nissan would take it. It is newer, more efficient, slightly lighter, and of course has all of the technology benefits of being an 11 year newer car.

  • Nascar Nation. How many laps for a usual Nascar Race?

    May be...

  • Not a Nascar guy but hate to hear about illness striking anyone. To PJ88 & Terry Lynn 2, get well soon!
  • It varies!
  • It depends on the track size as to how many laps there are.

PJ88 Fan I was not aware that you were sick. I know health issue can take a toll on you and get you down so please get better soon. I was sick for almost 7 weeks total but I got my results back from the hospital yesterday and I am ok. Just need to take things slow and I will be back to 100% in no time.

Scooter thank you for always checking in on me and begin there when I needed a friend and NASCAR Nation thank you for your thoughts and prayers especially the ones that have been there since the beginning, you know who you are and I couldn't have gotten through this without you.
  • Oh no! PJ88 Fan and Terry Lynn 2 are sick?! That's no good. I hope they get better soon!

And for the answer, it depends on the length of the track.
  • it varies from track to track. maggie mentioned daytona, another example would be a short track. at martinsville or bristol, both half mile tracks, they run 500 laps, so the races are only 250 miles. on a mile and a half track, i believe 338 laps equals 500 miles (i'm too lazy to do the math right now) it also depends on if the race is a '500' or a '400'. on road courses, they run kilometers instead of miles. so you see, it varies greatly.
  • On another note I wish all of you from Nascar Nation the best especially PJ88 Fan & Terry Lynn 2 who are having health issues right now. I wish them both the best & a full recovery.
  • Well it depends on the miles and the size of the track. For instance the Daytona 500 coming up...Daytona is a 2.5 mile track so they will run 200 laps to have 500 miles.

PJ88 my dear friend...I know is having health troubles and my prayers are always with her....wishing her only "diamonds".

Terry Lynn I am sorry that you are ill. Feel better soon!!!!
  • I had no idea you were ill Terry-Lynn, I am sorry to hear that but I am glad you are OK. PJ88Fan you have a speedy recovery also.
  • The typical race has either 400 miles/laps or 500miles/laps. road course races are about 100 laps. I hope y'all get better soon!!! PJ and Terry Lynn, you are in my prayers.
  • It varies on the length of the race, and track.

Best wishes to PJ88 Fan & Terry Lynn 2....
  • Depends on size of track!!!

PJ88, I had NO clue you were sick too, Take ALL your Meds. drink lots of fluids and get LOTS of rest! get well soon!!!

MISS T-L, Girl you gave some of us a big scare, I am SOOO glad your better. Anytime you need a friend KNOW that The KING will always be their!!!

  • What will nascar racing be like in outerspace?

    May be...

  • Considering it would be impossible to see in my lifetime, I wouldn't care, because I would be dead.
  • The car will look similar to a mix between a DMC Delorian, a VW Beetle, and a plantain banana.

The cars will not be called cars, but "Durons", so "There's Ingrid Revax in the #43 Google duron."

To prevent gravity limitations, the durons will use GyroForce 5X motors with GraviTrax thrusters.

The fan-favourite track will be Optimaplex Abyssway, a road course on the planet Sirius (in the Alpha Centauri system). It will have 12 turns including the large hairpin into the burning ring of fire. Then you go down, down, down, and the flames go higher. And it burns, burns, burns. The ring of fire. The track will be translucent, made of the same material that Saturn's rings are made from.

The average speed of a race will be 451km/m (kilometers a minute).

  • Just like Mario Kart
  • Not Cool... it's Great like this. We don't need Meteors postponing races.
  • Much less boring.
  • since there is barely any gravity the cars would float around. Why would you even ask this.
  • Out of this world!

    Just an opinion as always.
  • Crap. A real life speedracer.

  • Who wants free Milky Ways when Johnson comes back?
  • I hope it stays on Earth. Don't want the sport to stray away from its roots and Earth.
  • Like way way in the future...

Bunnie and I were talking about it being really fast and fun but can't figure if they will have a track.

    How will it be?

Who wins the trophy this year!?!?

    May be...

  • Someone from Hendricks...most likely Jeff Gordon!
  • Cousin Carl
    Or the Biff
  • That's a very good question! Most teams are now catching up on to the COT.
I noticed at the end of last season that some teams that weren't competitive early in the season were coming on. So the longer Nascar leaves the COT alone competition should get tighter. This should make for a great year of racing.
Now to answer your question. If I were a betting man, I'd still have to bet on the 48 team. There is a chemistry built into that team that is going to be hard to beat! If the driver and crew chief of that team were separated for any reason, I'd be putting my money elsewhere!!
    Peace!
  • Ditto the Blessing and if its not Greg Biffle then I hope its Carl
  • jeff gordon
  • As a Dale Junior fan, I am obligated to say him....
    but really...
    Kyle Busch. ;)
  • I want Kyle to take that trophy so that I can hear you say "take a bow Kyle"....ROFL. I would not mind Jeff G, Jeff B, Martin T, Tony S or Elliot S also taking that trophy.

God Bless and Keep our men and women overseas!!
  • I think it may be Jeff Burton. I have been thinking that the last week.
  • I have to go with Junior, that's where my heart is but I would also like to see Jeff get his 5th. It should be a very interesting year. I'm going out on a limb here and add Smoke & The Rocket man.

Lenny D ~ I stand beside you in your salute to all of our troops!
  • Jeff Gordon.
  • ::::::::> SMOKE<::::::::
  • I think Kevin Harvick will win it.
  • I want Dale Jr to win the Championship this yr. But it would be cool to see Jeff Gordon get his 5th.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Jimmie Johnson.

The #48 team are the only ones who can beat themselves right now. As long as Jimmie and the #48 guys keep their heads on the same page together, I believe we all will be looking at four Sprint Cups in a row for Johnson.
  • The driver of The #24 Dupont Chevrolet Impala SS,from Pittsboro,Indiana,4 Time Champion ,81 wins,Jeff Gordon .
  • Every year I keep telling my best friend that JJ will not win this year and then he goes and makes a liar out of me.

I would love it if Kevin Harvick won this year but I think it might be mighty hard to knock JJ off of his pedestal.

And God Bless all Armed Forces serving overseas, not just American.
  • I will say Carl Edwards squeaks by JJ this year..........It will be a great year though!!!!
  • The young Busch brother will finish what he start's this season.
    Braxton is my new hero!!!!
  • DALE EARNHARDT JR! WOOOO-HOOOOO!

How can daytona(ISC) have the gatorade(pepsi) 150 and coke zreo 400?

    May be...

  • Those two races happen six month apart for one. And for two sponsorship dollars can make anything happen most of the time. A few years ago the cola wars did heat up though. Coke sponsored six different cars for the Pepsi 400 to try to get one of their cars into victory lane. The winner was Jeff Gordon in the only Pepsi car out there, lol.
  • the france family can do anything they want. and in this economy i don't think they care who the sponsorship dollars are coming from.
  • The sponsors of these races are sponsoring the races, not the track.

    ZREO??? lol!!!
I know what you meant anyway.
  • ISC is owned by the France family, which owns NASCAR. They can pretty much have anything they darn well please. : )
  • NASCAR, and ISC are basically two different organizations, run by the same people.. ISC owns the race tracks, and it's a publicly traded corporation (NYSE), and the France family holds the majority of stock, as well as Roger Penske..That's who decides who's money they will take for what kind of sponsorship for the tracks.. ISC owns Daytona chooses Pepsi..
NASCAR is a sanctioning body, that's the guys that make, and enforce the rules of racing, and is not publicly traded, and entirely owned by the France family..
These people aren't stupid, so the sanctioning body (NASCAR), sells Coke Zero the right to name a race (must compete) so Pepsi is the "official soft drink of Daytona" as it's been since the first time I was there in 71, and Coke Zero buys the right to name the race (that used to be named the Pepsi 400) as the "official soft drink of NASCAR"..keeper read sister
  • Robby Gordon in a Toyota and Smoke in a Chevy, so how will they do?

    May be...

  • Tony is driving Haas cars he will not be competitive for awhile. Robby might even do better than Tony.
  • Tony is going to do well since he is essentially in a Hendrick car. Robby Gordon is the crappy driver he has always been, so he will get one top ten and that will be at one of the road course races. He is a perennial tail end runner. That's all he will ever be.
  • Robby Gordon in the Toyota might do well this year. He has not been doing that good at all as of lately. I'll give him until Phoenix to get all the quirks out and then he should do good.

Smoke in a Chevy... This is going to be a wild ride for this guy this year. Look out NASCAR fans Smoke is coming to get ya. Smoke will be a master to contend with this year!! His a man on a mission. This guy is the real deal!! Smoke will be in cup contention this year!!
  • Tony'll smoke 'em ! Robby'll do good too. what do you think?
  • I think that Tony will win a couple of races and get into the Chase, he is that good of a driver.

As for Robby Gordon, I think that he will contend in the two road course races and will make his way into the top 25 in owner points. He has done a good job in keeping his car in the show.
  • Robby, my favorite driver has driven Chevy, Ford, Dodge and now Toyota. I think he will do well in a Toyota, heck he does well in anything with wheels. With the Dodge last year I was surprised to see how well he did at Daytona and Dega. I hope that the toyota offers a better and more compatible engine package for him. He is great on road courses too, but needs to learn to stay out of people's way sometimes (I think he gets too cocky.)

Smoke, back in a chevy, thank gosh. I think he will be happy this year, even if he does not win a lot of races. This will be a learning year for him. I do not think he will win the championship but I do believe he will make the chase and have a couple of wins.

In conclusion, I am looking forward to both boys racing (though I prefer Robby in a Dodge) and I think they will have fun this year
  • They will both do better than they did last year. Tony will benefit from a change of scenery and Robby will get a lot more support from Toyota than he was getting from Ford and Dodge.
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • You know Robby has really been trying many things to make his team work and this might be the right combination. Smoke? He is the owner now and has more things to juggle. I think he will be extremely happy back with the Chevy program but Won't make the chase I think its going to be a challenge for him with his temper. You know the Coach kept him reigned in all these years. We will see.sao paulo cpf
  • NASCAR TRIVIA! Do you know who this driver is?

    May be...

  • Ken Schrader or Bill Eliott my first is Schrader though orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... Kenny Wallace?
  • bobby labonte
  • ricky rudd
  • I'm not real sure, but it sounds like Darrell Waltrip.

I might be wrong, but it's just a guest.
  • Terry Labonte
  • Terry Labonte?
  • Sterling Marlin?

Just a Guess.... I have no Clue
  • Who am I?
One of my first cars in Cup was heated by a NATIVE AMERICAN stove. This replaced our earlier sponsor who kept us warm after drinking alot of. After the stove went out we went flying with a new sponsor...little did we know how far those wings would take us!
After Jaws left Junior I reunited with one of my earlier sponsors...they made me warm again. But the success just didn't come in this car.
I drove for the first car in racing....but this Olds was old and just wouldn't run. I didn't hang around and went to hang out in the Sun with the owner who gave me my big break. That break led to breakfast the next year. But the sponsor was stolen by a top CUP team...my owner was devastated when I went with the sponsor. I hung around for several years got a trophy or two....and settled down and drove my original car # again thanks to the King loaning it out. Now I am a journeyman in every sense of the word. All I have is my helmet and the desire to go racing. You gotta a car and need a driver??? Well, I am your man.....and if the stars align just right....I am guaranteed to get you in the field. Who am I?????

Good luck and have fun with it! Best answer goes to the person who answers the most clues.
  • Dale Jarrett- no

    Terry LaBonte
    Not sure about early sponsors
1984 Piedmont Airlines with wins @ Riverside and Bristol and his 1st Championship

1987 went to Junior Johnson and drove #11 Budweiser

1990 signed to drive #1 Skoal Bandit Olds but could only manage 15th in points

1991 went back to Billy Hagan to drive #94 Sunoco Olds and in 1993 the teams switched to #14 Chevys sponsored by Kelloggs.

1994 Hendrick stole Kelloggs and LaBonte signed on to drove the #5 Chevy and won 6 races in 2 years.

    1996 won 2nd Championship

2004 borrowed #44 from the King

He all the most current Champions make the race, Terry LaBonte is guaranteed a former champions spot and will drive almost anythingbluetooth pci

Will fox still be using the Digger Cam's as they did last year in Nascar?

    May be...

  • they were very popular and entertaining, they will be around a long time.
  • I hope so, they were especially cool during spin outs when drivers went over them (ex. Sadler at Atlanta). The only I don't like about it is Fox patting themselves on the back about it all year long selling tee shirts. C'mon now.
  • I do believe they are, I thought they were pretty cool too.

Happy Groundhog Day to you too Storm :)
  • Oh I am sure Digger will be there. They will probably be giving you a call to borrow one from your yard. All those little diggers out there.
  • Yes, Digger will be back this yr, he is suppose to be better than ever, from the one promo I saw about him.. I think he is pretty cool.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Yep. Too bad they couldn't come up with a clever name for him.
  • Yes, they will and also ESPN/ABC will most likely be too. From what I understand is that FOX/ESPN/ABC will be sharing production costs during the first part of the season to save money.

So Digger will be getting a lot more views.
  • I don't see why not. He was a pretty successful figure in 2008 with all the merchandise surrounding him, it wouldn't surprise me should he show up in 2009
  • Of course they will. They made it such a huge deal that they had it, they wouldn't give it up even if it wasn't popular. But some of the shots they get with it are pretty cool, so it will definitely be around for awhile,
  • Did you like the angles/shots from the cameras?

I thought they were pretty cool, especially the angles they captured the cars at.

    Happy Groundhog Day!
  • Yep. They will be making money off of the "Digger" t-shirts so you know digger has a job as long a FOX does. Speaking of digger is your avatar a picture of one of the gophers you got from your yard?
  • I really hope so, some of the shot they get are awesome!
  • Absolutely Storm. Like you said, those view's are amazing.
  • Of course he is a part of the team now and I heard he is already in Daytona digging away and finding a good spotcard lan smc wireless

Are you ready to ride the Carl Edwards bandwagon?

    May be...

  • No, I think I will stay on the Jimmie Johnson bandwagon. I've been riding on it since 2002. Of course, I have always been on the Jeff Gordon bandwagon as well.
  • Yea, I don't think I'm Ford material, I'm a full fledged DODGE FANATIC, and theirs NO way I'm giving up my HEMI!!!

But if Cousin Carl decides to come over to the DODGE side, we would DEFINITELY welcome him in!!!
  • If he stands up to Kyle Busch again like he did last year at Bristol, I'm on!!
  • I'll get on but David is still my favorite.
I just like all the Roush boys.
  • i wouldnt pull for carl if he was JR's teammate
but it's still good to have you back
i really aint been here but its getting closer to racetime
  • Count me out. I am with WinterGlory on this one. Not "Rowdy" enough. Whoo hooo!!!
  • Nice to see you back Fluffy but I think I am gonna stay on the Reed Sorenson bandwagon(LOL), something tells me I am gonna have a lot more space over here. I have a feeling Carl is gonna get crowded and fast.
  • Ah, fluffy glad to see you got your identity back. I do feel Carl is a threat for the championship.....but no I am not ready to ride a bandwagon.....I will still pull for my #43 as I always do.

    Just an opinion as always.
  • I am! But you better get on now, so we know who the real fans are. All we need is a conductor and a driver. Are you gettin' on?
  • It's not "rowdy" enough for me..
  • I've always liked to see Edwards do well. I still like to see the 48 do better however. LOL!
  • Nah, I'm too busy at the front of Denny's bandwagon :).
  • I'm not a Carl Edwards fan so I will have fun not cheering for him this season.
  • Nope not me . If he drove for any body but Roush i would !!! LOL

    Great to see you back!!!!!!!!1
  • Hmmm... I think it would be best to wait until he wins a few ... at least 2. Wouldn't want to get on the wrong wagon. Plus I want to make sure he doesn't take out my favorite driver in the restrictor plate tracks first. LOL
  • No thank you. That ship, excuse me, bandwagon has already left the station for me and I'm on board with the Blue Duece. Have a great season Fluff!!
  • no I hate Edwards he tries to act like such a good guy but he is really a jerk.
  • I used to be ON it, but I got OFF it once I saw the real him.air china ca985
  • Tony Eury Jr., right man for the job?

    May be...

  • Until Mr Hendrick says he is not the man for the job then he is the right man for the job. Rick knows crew chiefs and I have to go with what he says. So in closing yes he is right for Dale Jr until otherwise notified. My opinion only.
  • He sure hasn't shown me that he is one of the elite Cup crew chiefs. He has the knowledge to make a great car stay good, but he can't make a good car great. Let alone a terrible car good. All I can say is he sure ain't his father.
  • I like Eury Jr. God love him for what he deals with from junya nation. I think he's a good chief although I will never understand his move at Watkins Glen I think he's just fine. Every chief made questionable calls including the almighty Chad Knaus so if Jr is happy then yes he is the right man for the job. Why not question the driver sometimes? OOps thats a sin to go there. lol
  • The sports announcers seem to think that Tony Eury Jr doesn't keep up with the track changes. It was announced all season last year on TV and I agree. Tony couldn't keep up with the track with the old car and the new car is even more difficult to get precise. All of the successful crew chiefs have stated that there is a fine window to work in that makes the car perform well. Tony Jr. just hasn't got what it takes to anticipate the changes that takes place in a race.

Dale Jr's most successful years were when his uncle Tony Eury Sr was a crew chief. Dale Jr does make some dumb mistakes sometimes. Example when he turned too early in front of Carl Edwards and wrecked himself and destroyed his chances of winning a championship a few years back.

Any successful crew chief in the past was always because he made small changes unless there was something way off on the car. Chad is way better at making those guesses ... Tony Eury Jr. is not. I think the world of Tony Eury Sr and Tony Eury Jr but if Dale is going to compete with the top runners for a championship then he's going to have to find another job for Tony Jr. He should have used Alan Gustafson as a crew chief. Tony will hit on some races but he just can't keep up with the track changes. He never has been.

There are some races Dale Jr should have won last season. Some was lost because of bad luck, bad sportsmanship from some other drivers, and some were Eury Jr's fault. I'm not just using last year as a basis for my opinion. I'm using Tony Eury Jr's entire career as Dale Jr's crew chief as a basis for my opinion. He can't keep up with the track. He's good at setting a car up but not as a crew chief and keeping a car up.
  • I have to agree with Winter on this one. I feel like Rick knows what he's doing, and if things don't change, we may see Eury with another team....
  • Hes a good crew chief, because a couple of years ago Jr and Michael Waltrip switched crew chiefs and Michael did great with Tony Jr. But i definitely think Dale Jr should get a new crew chief, him and Tony Jr just argue cause Dale Jr gets aggrivated when the car doesn't drive right, and they start to argue.
  • naaaaw i dont think hese ready.....
  • I agree with winter, I think Jr would do much better with him, but I understand the loyalty there too. I'm just praying that he doesn't make the bad calls he made last year! Guess we will find out soon.
  • For the job of crew chief, yes.
For the job of Dale Jr.'s crew chief, no.
  • I think maybe he needs to Brad's crew chief in the Nationwide series, while Pops steps in with Junior. Tony, Jr. doesn't understand this new car.
  • Jr Earnhardt won all but 1 of 18 races with Tony Eurie Sr, who is still winning races for the 88 Nationwide car...
With Tony Sr, Jr Earnhardt won as many as six races in a season (03), and had a shot at the Cup..
Since taking over for his dad, Tony Eurie Jr has not been able to get into The Chase most years...
What do you think?? Jr forget how to drive??headset protocol
  • Can't we all just get along?

    May be...

  • plz cant we just stop this invading nonscence and get along?
  • ok
  • If my memory serves me correct, the football (NFL) section did the same thing a few months ago. It's just a bunch of people looking for something to do. Potentially air out their frustrations? I don't know, for I don't partake in this nonsense. But eventually they'll get bored and go back to doing their own thing in their respective forums. Just wait it out, and don't let them get to you.
  • It's not us who doesn't cooperate, its them.
  • hopefully they will find somewhere else to go soon.
  • We all do get along.

Hey PURO, nice Eeeenglish, you kiss your mom wif dat mouff???

Cause she told me she likes it when you do, At least I think it was her, they all look the same from behind. Hair and ears.

Kids should not be allowed near the computer without parental supervision.
  • Because sometimes people have no brains, that's why we can't all get along. Glad to see you have one though.
  • This is one of those times where I shake my head at being a NASCAR and WWE fan, because this exact same problem develops. Why don't the trolls just leave us alone and do something diabolical on their own time?
  • dude sorry for what my friends have done, it's just one person that's doing this I think so please forgive us
  • They want to take over the NASCAR section, according to their Q & As. Wonder what they'll do with it once they get it? lol
  • They'll get bored and leave soon enough.
  • First, I'd like to address Puro Mexicano...You say NASCAR is not a sport? I'd like to see you try driving 500 miles at 200 mph, get out of the car, and THEN tell me it's not a sport!

Second, we CAN get along! :o) See! :o) I'm smiling! :o)

    EDIT: Tony, you said it!
