The McLaren and Ferrari teams are all fit becuase they spend so much time running to the stewards office.
The Red Bull teams are all on suger highs and can't stop doing push ups and talking really fast (and dribbling).
Toyota are fit because they keep running around in circles.
Super Aguri get fit chasing after all the wheels that keep falling off their cars.
Force india are fit from running to the toilet so often due to all the curries they're eating.
Renault aren't fit, thats why they're cars are slow this year (too much extra weight).
BMW are fit because the entire team is made up of power ranges in crazy white costumes. Weight training and cardio work is very common. F1, especially, is very demanding because of the high G's that are pulled which are physically exhausting. Drivers also watch their weight since cars are not handicapped for the drivers' weights.

I haven't seen it yet, but the Ferrari's were supposed to be quicker this weekend. Let's see if they have fixed their reliability problems.
I wonder if the McLaren's will be penalised for blocking Its always been Ferrari at Malaysia, wonder what been going on at Mclaren. Hamilton is in good position on fourth but he'll have a tough time overtaking the Ferraris Pretty interesting. Massa was faster than Kimi and Heikki was faster than Hamilton. I was surprised by the number of cars on track during the closing seconds of Q3.
HAmilton and Heikki were then found guilty of blocking other cars (most notably Heidfeld and Alonso) and are dropped 5-places down the grid. The reason was McLaren did not knwo that some cars were still on a flying lap and failed to warn their drivers. They were both cruising, trying to save fuel and at some times were on the racing line.
And I was surprised by Toyota's speed. And also Williams, they weren't where I'd expected them to be. Good thing it didn't rain or I'm sure it would have been a really topsy turvy grid hmm was an interesting one wasn't it!

P.S.- Feel sorry for Nick and Fernando, Nick could be 3rd or 4th behind Heiki and Fernando maybe 5th. The ferraris were fast granted!
But it will be iteresting to see there race stratagy and how long they can go into the race before refueling.
I also understand the reasons behind the Mclareans being demoted but the penalty was a little harsh and a little bit of excitment has been taken away from the race. well i am suprised no one has posted anything about it so i thought i would :)

With an all red front red row and Kovi beating Lewis, silence is natural. it was boaring until after the chequred flag ferrari rules. this should have happened in melbourne too if it wasnt for the technical problems for raikkonen I thought it was a great qualifying and to all those fools that said Kimi and Massa sucked with no traction control then i say the egg is all over their faces hahaha..Let`s hope for a all red finish... It will interesting to see what happens to the Mclaren duo, they have been called up in front of the stewards for possible blocking of drivers who were still on hot laps when they were slowing down. Heikki beat Lewis. hahahaha.

yep I would like him to win a race. He is Not my favorite driver--But I think he is allright!!!!!!! I don't. But I know alot of guys who do. heck yeah. his 1st year at hendrick and hes pretty much beaten all the other hms guys every time. not my favorite no, id like him if he didn't have 9 billion hick fans, and i didn't have to hear the race broadcast talk about him running 16th more than they talk about the leaders 36 weeks a year No not really, overhyped because of Dale Sr. Nope! I personally am not his top fan. I just believe he is to hyped up about, and it causes the announcers to only talk about him when I want to hear about other drivers. So unfortunately I really dont like him too much. But I dont completely hate him. ABSOLUTELY! Do you? Watch for him start winning now.

....heros growing up along with much of the rest of the Alabama Gang. What was yours, doesn't matter when it was. Richard Petty ,David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, and Harry Gant. Cale Yarborough, Donnie Allison, Richard Petty & Dale Sr. were my favorties. Fireball Roberts, Fred Lorenzen,Curtis Turner, David Pearson, Richard Petty, Junior Johnson, Cale Yarbrough, Ned Jarrett, DW, Terry Labonte, Dale Earnhardt Sr. Mark Martin. What a awesome guy and a awesome driver. I hate to see that he is semi retired, but atleast I get to watch him drive a some races every year. Don't laugh, but Jeff Gordon.
I was young, he was young. It was awesome to see him win so much and do so well at such a young age.
I really wish that I could have followed NASCAR when Davey Allison was still around. I'm confident he would have been my hero had I started to watch in the late 80s and early 90s. Started out liking Cale Yarborough & Richard Petty when I was just a little kid , mostly cause my dad & Uncle liked them , but went my seperate way & took Earnhardt When I was about 14 years old (40 YEARS old now) & stayed with him till the end . It`s been a cool ride seen a lot of changes through out the years wouldn`t trade the memories for anything. RIP DALE SR. -Go Jr #88. Bill Elliott, Ricky Rudd, Terry Labonte. My dad was a Earnhardt fan and I always had to root for someone else so we could see whose driver beat who. The Pettys-Allisons-Flocks!!!!!!! David Pearson, Buddy Baker, Richard Petty, Allison brothers,LaBonte brothers-everyone talks about the mighty Hendrick Motor-sports, I watched Terry drive past Dale Jarret repeatedly despite consistent 16 second green and yellow flag stops, he purely drove to that win. Hey I found the 87 dega race on you tube yesterday. Remember this craziness? Wow! I was a Petty fan in the late 70's to 80's and Harry Gant as well.

darrel waltrip Cale Yarborough and the king Richard Petty Back in the 90s my hero was Jeff Gordon. My dad's driver was Mark Martin and my mom's was Rusty Wallace, so it made for a pretty interesting race day. We all had a soft spot for Dale Jarret, though. mine is still with the Earnhardt's.

I think the issue here is not the carbon fibre but the minimal strength of some cars when they take impacts from unusual angles. Last week when Massa ploughed into DC, the Red Bull looked very delicate with wheels and parts flying off in multiple directions while the Ferrari carried on. Yesterday, while DC hit the wrong side of the kerb, the explosion of parts again suggested the Red Bull was fragile. He and Webber must have guts to drive that thing. I don't know why out of all the cars on the grid it was only the Redbull car that suffered suspension problems. In qualifying last week, Webber also suffered from some sort of brake disk failure so maybe it's the overall reliability of their cars. I'm rather surprised that no-one has seemed to mention the fact that in Australia, Coulthards suspension on his Red Bull looked it collapsed under the weight of the car as he collided with Massa. It was intriguing in that I'd never seen a car's suspension just break like that, in what was essentially a minor collision. The way the suspension broke was very similar to Glock's incident later in the race, but that was a much larger incident compared to DC's. The number of times I have seen a car on two wheels in an incident like that meant it was a shock to see his car fall apart in such a way. Compare it too to the way Massa's car kept going ok after as well, when it was his car that bore the brunt of the crash.
I just think there is some sort of design flaw in the Red Bull that means it is very very fragile in higher load areas, such as the Massa collision and the bumps today. It should be very worrying to Adrian Newey, who to me seems past his prime. His cars now seem to be sacrificing stability and reliability for speed, speed that isn't even front-running. All the other cars use similar bonding systems and the like and have no problems, so to me it looks like a design issue. Yes I saw that. Reminds me more of Airfix than cutting edge technology. since F1 cars are under such strick guidelines i dont think they have much choice on what to use. carbon fiber is about the only lightest and strongest thing availible to them that can withstand the forces during the race and protect the driver if there is a crash. bonding agents are usually a quick and cheap way of repairing damage or strengthening certain parts. ......adhesives. Do you think that there are still areas of car construction that should avoid the use of carbon fibre and bonding ?

Chesterfield, Derbyshire no dude lay off the pop I fell asleep after watching the friday pracitce live timing on the F1 site and immediatley after, i took a nap. While i was asleep, i dreamed that Kimi had somehow perched his Ferrari up on a tree. He had come out of the cockpit but was sitting on the side of the car with that same passive look on his face as he always does, waiting to be rescued.
Anyone else think my dream means anything? It means you were watching F1 on TV when you fell asleep and you had a dream about it. That's all it means, you're not a magical wizard mate. Don't over-dramatise things. Yes it means that Kimi will always be a miserable looking bugger! it means kimi is really angry !!!!! he is doing bad !!!

I dont care about sponsorships. They are a necessary evil with racing. The sport is so over-commercialized that I go out of my way to not support the sponsors. i am the opposite i love the amp and really do not like mountain dew and i love the amp car it looks totally awesome. Personally, I like the way the car looks now. Amp tastes like candy, it's really not that bad the me. It's all personal taste anyway. Would anyone else rather see Mountain Dew as the main Sponsor for Dale Jr instead of Amp?? I'm a HUGE Mountain Dew drinker but really can't stand the taste of Amp. The special paint scheme Dale Jr. will have later this season would be awesome as his regular car!! I would Like to see the Mountain Dew Paint Scheme back out on the track!!!!!! I like Amp and I drink the sugar free kind but Mountain Dew would look cool on the car ! what's the diff? will a new paint scheme make the car go faster? I agree with the no driver in the car Guy JR sucks I thought his sponsor was budweiser I would prefer mountain dew too the paint scheme they showed looks like DWs old car I'm just the opposite. I love the taste of Amp but can't stand the driving of Dale Jr.
His car looks fine with the AMP Sponsorship on teh hood. Now, if they can only find a driver who can win. I agree with you I would have loved the car to look like a Mountain Dew bottle. Very bright & very cool! Mountain Dew is already a huge brand in a stagnant or even shrinking portion of the beverage business in regular carbonated sodas. Amp is a small player in an exploding energy drink market. Of course they'll put their money where they think they can gain the most. Pepsico is lagging behind somewhat in the energy drink department and this was a way to get huge impact with possible huge gains. For the same money they wouldn't have gotten near the gain on an already upper level soda like Mountain Dew... The AMP car looks good, but having Mountain Dew on the car would be fantastic. He's running the Mountain Dew car at Darlington in May. Hopefully Mountain Dew can get can sponsor Jr in a few more races this year. I think the car would look better if the AMP and Natonal Guard paint schemes are redesigned for next year. I would rather see a bright colored Paint scheme even if they made it look like DW`s old ride just so it would be easier to spot in traffic on TV. I think his car is ugly...I am not a fan of either AMP or Mountain Dew. the cars pretty cool lookin dude
and does it really matter what the sponsor is.....you'd still like him if his sponsor was "Penis" I've never had AMP and don't care much for the taste of Mountain Dew.

yh one thing there wont be on there is adverts which i hate at last no more Ads least no adverts got to be better No Advertising, That spoils it on ITV.
They dare not break play in a football match but they deem it acceptable in F1. I'm looking forward to no interruptions from adverts. Adverts have ruined so many good moments over the years. I think the BBC will do a great job in promoting and airing it, they've proven they can in the past so I don't see that changing.
I hope they keep most of the ITV guys on board though because they do a good job. Not sure they should keep James Allen though, he's not a good commentator. Though if they do get rid of him they'll have to find someone else but I can't see Murray Walker coming back. yes they are going back home?lol yes that battles me because besides the adverts and lewis hamilton there website is very good. And i have a feeling that the bbc can do better but let see when the time comes :)
p.s i would like steve to stay and martin but i am not sure about james though !!

Almost makes the Licence fee worth it. . . . Being the BBC, they are capable of promoting and showing it to a larger audience. Can't wait.. At the very least,No ad breaks. There shall be no adverts :D too right it will be better on the ol beeb!!! we can remember when it was first on the beeb. . . . . no not that old just loved f1 since a baby, that noise is the best sound in the world!!!!!...no ads no long intro's when it comes back on just pure uninterrupted Lewis!!!!!!!!! no adverts, but then should 'gas gussying sport' be put on air with all the concerns of the ozone layer.
It should be banned. No adverts will mean we get to see stuff as it happens. No more missing crashes or cruddy pit stops! At least there won't be adverts during it!

It was all about attitude.
People, drivers especially, respected him as a "take no crap" kind of guy.
Who remembers when one driver took Sr. out on the last lap and won the race. Dale Sr. just walked up to his car and said get out....I can't remember who the driver was but he just kept saying "I'm so sorry Dale".
Sr. let him get out of the car,walked over to him, and just gave him the old bump on the shoulder.
As he walked away, he said "Well, that's racin'" The man did what he had to do, to pay the bills The Intimidator was a little of both .He did what it took to win ! That Dale Earnhardt was overly aggresive or just agressive enough to get the wins that he did get.
I personally think that he was just agressive enough! I think Dale did what it took to win. to me dale is a big softy who cant win races his last win was 2006 come on whats tht time to hang up the wheel. i think Mr. Hendirck wasted his money on dale. he passed up the best diver in history KYLEBUSCH M&M#18 TOYOTA Dale Sr seemed to be driven to win at all cost early in his career. Toward what was the later years, he seemed to get a more overall glimpse of what "team" meant and paid some attention to that. The perfect example is his final race when I completely believe he was blocking for Junior and Mikey. I do believe the early years he was aggressive. I think the middle years he was assertive. By the end, he was just plain GOOD! I think it was a mix of both... Sometimes a little too agressive, sometimes just aggressive enough. I think it depended on his mood, lol
We are talking about Earnhardt Sr, right? Overly aggressive. If any drivers today were to drive like he did, everyone would calling for their head (JPM, Stewart, and Kyle Busch come to mind). But since he's the almighty Dale Sr, its ok. just aggressive enough I htink he was spot on and God Bless him... I think he was too aggressive. Anybody could crash their way to a win. But as long as Nascar lets people get away with it, why not drive that way? So I guess he was just agressive enough. A lot of people who come into my sons NASCAR shop say that he was a bully on the track. I wonder if he would be black flagged in one of todays races for driving like that.. Are we talking about Dale Sr. or Jr.? If Sr. then yeah, i think he was just aggressive enough to get the win. The man in black did just what it takes to get the job done. Kyle Busch lover..................Dale Jr has finished in the top 10 3 out of 5 races and is a CASH COW fool!!!!! Check to see who sells more merchandise and get back with me you dummy!!! Oh and Kyle needs to MAN UP a little bit....his power steering went out and he slams into the wall; a real man would have put some muscle into the steering and kept going!!! He can't drive without power steering???????? He was one of the best to ever grace the sport of nascar.

I just hope it means that half-wit James Allen is dispensed with. Hopefully they'll keep Martin Brundle on though. ITV has put up no resistence in losing the coverage.They have entertained the British public in a brilliant manner over the last 9 yrs.Maybe the stuffy BBC will imitate them in their coverage.
I am happy providing they sign Steve Rider and the mountain of knowledge Martin Brundle,just nothin gets away from this guy.He still has connections within the sport and F1 would never be the same without him.As for the rest they all everyone has done a sterling job and will be sorely missed adverts and all. We'll have to wait and see what the coverage is like. If it's level with ITV but minus the ad breaks then it's a HUGE plus.
Note: Bernie isn't doing this 'for the fans', there's obviously been a big wodge of cash put under his nose. It`s about time, the adverts were spoiling the whole programme. I hate it when they say" while you were away this happened" then they show a replay and you miss the bit they show the replay over !!
PS, can we have Murray back too ? James Allen is c*+p He has Sold tv coverage in the uk back to the BBC from next season Cool. From what i've heard, BBC coverage was way better than the current ad infested itv coverage..
I can't wait.. I'll miss Louise Goodman's interviews with drivers who crash out during a race though.

Also, being with the bbc, maybe the Jeremy Clarkson can be a guest commentator or pit lane interview guy. That would be pretty cool. Btw, unlike many critics of James Allen, I thought Murray Walker was utterly incompetent if occasionally amusing in his incompetence. I spent large parts of my childhood shouting at the TV when he'd made yet another mistake identifying a car or getting some fact or other wrong. He's MUCH better doing interviews or being interviewed himself. Good no crappy breaks every 15mins.

He is a doll and I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to him last year at Homestead. He is highly intelligent and has a very good sense of humor. I'm not really a Dale Jr. fan but I am now more than I was before I met him. Are you an out of shape woman? Same here...husband and I watch every race, until football season starts, then we watch every game usually switching back and forth between the 2 Do you find yourself a bit bummed out during those three months a year that NASCAR has off and there are no races???

I just smoke mary jane and wait it out like the rest of the drivers. pittsburgh steelers Fortunately I have a hobby that actually gets a higher priority than NASCAR: dog shows. I have that addiction year round. Yeah, it's hard to adjust to the weekends when you don't have a NASCAR race to look forward too. I usually catch up on major housework....painting, attic, windows, and that type of thing to keep me occupied. Makes for a shorter "off" season, and a shorter winter if I stay busy. I don't like football like so many of you. I have tried to watch it, but it does nothing for me.

Although my seven year old has taken an interest in watching the races with me and really enjoys going to the races. College football is a close second. I am also a huge Buckeye Fan, being from Columbus,Ohio and love the football program. ( Not so much the basketball since they stink since G. Oden left after his freshman year )
Nascar to me is the " GREATEST " sport out there bar none!
In most sports you only have two teams competing against each other and the outcome is pretty obvious on who wins, ( one or the other )
But in Nascar you have 43 teams week in and week out competing for the championship! Its fantastic!
Great Question! I wear a helmet and HANS device to work in the morning. You know the Tampa traffic is terrible in the morning.
Seriously though I watch other sports but do a lot of fishing on the Bay in the off season. I got it so bad I need to go see a doctor. I get it bad also! Watching Nascar race clips on YouTube. It helps feed my addiction until the Nascar season starts. If that doesn't do it I always watch my Dallas Cowboys play on Sunday. Yes, I get real bummed but I cheer on my Jets, unfortunate this is, they were eliminated before Nascar season was over. I'd watch even California or this years Atlanta race over a football game any day though. I record some races during the season and re watch my fav's during the off season,keep up with news on Nascar.com. I a huge football fan, USC Trojans, and Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers, and go skiing, and I just try to keep busy..Yep I hate the Nascar off season, but then its a long season for the drivers/crews & their families and they deserve time off.

He might have I dont know but I was glad of the outcome. Jeff burton is a class act and one of the few gentlemen left in the sport. You never know what to expect, that is the beauty of Nascar! That was classic. no, it wouldent have been even close. when kevin, and tony were side by side, hamlin had atleast a 3 car lenght lead over the two drivers. If harvick would have gotten past tony he would have had turns 3,4 to catch up to hamlin because the crash happend on second to last lap. well we will never know, Harvick on fresh tires, and with Hamlins fuel issue, I'd say there was a dang good chance he could have...Bring on Martinsville...

Harvick seems hungrier this year than I have seen in a while to get a win, and with that said it wont be long before his does. maybe martinsville I agree with LugNutz. That will be a question debated for a long time to come, but we will never know a definitive answer. Based on what happened with Hamlins fuel pick up Problem I would say Yes!!!!!! I would say YES!!!! He had the momentum goin and the only reason Burton really got past Kevin & Tony is because they got into each other, and he was able to get past them!!!
GO HARVICK & RCR!!!! Never know for sure, but I think so. Harvick was on the fresher tires and WAS going to pass Tony if he hadn't lost it and gotten into the side of him. Good for Burton though. Class act. That guy knows how to lay back and let everyone else screw up, and then capitalize on their mistakes. Doesn't matter. The good thing is Harvik took out Tony, and therefore took both of them out of contention for the win.

The answer u want is this lol Denny Hamlin is young and a good driver so is Martin Truex jr. Those are the 2 drivers i chose when The Intimidator died i like junior but not a bandwaggoner and when he decides racing is more important than commercials he'll do great right now he is doing good but he has too many distractions....I am not a Busch fan neither Kurt nor Kyle do it for me but I do have them in my fantasy racing leagues lol look for Kyle to maintain his edge n Kurt hoping to keep up with his bro lol Brother, you have to make that decision on your own, and there is NO right or wrong answer here. There are SO MANY good drivers out there - from Stewart, Johnson, Gordon, or Jr. to Busch, the other Busch, Truex Jr., Kahne, Biffle, Harvick, Burton.... and the list goes on and on and on and... Take some time, sit back, and find the driver that fits YOU. Why listen to a bunch of biased & opinionated (yes, that's ALL of us, me too) individuals? BE FREE & INDEPENDENT. I guarantee you'll be more happy with the choice, because it was your own! He battled Jeff Gordon for several titles back in the 1990s, why not choose him? He's not as "new" as all the young guys and is one of the few veterans left from that era, before the youth invasion.
Of course, Gordon did pioneer that very same movement.
Jarrett was very good at Daytona (3 500 wins) and so is Gordon (3 500 wins). Elliott Sadler and him were like best friends from what I seen and he always talks about him during race broadcasts. Picking a new driver isn't like picking out a pair of pants to wear that day. You have to find the one that fits closest to your own personality, believes, and morals. Now this may be a little difficult to do since you don't actually get to sit down and have a one-on-one conversation with them or anything like that, but you can watch their mannerisms, how they carry themselves at the track, and how they treat the fans and the press.
Now, on the assumption that you are looking for an older, more experienced driver to be your second favorite, Bobby Labonte, Jeff Burton, Kenny Schrader, or Kenny Wallace would be great choices. If you are wanting a middle aged driver who should be around for a while yet you can choose from the obvious - Tony Stewart, Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Carl Edwards, Kevin Harvick, or Dale Jr. Now for the youngest / up and coming drivers you have your choice of Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, Kasey Kahne, Clint Bowyer (although he could also be in the second group), or Martin Truex Jr.
But take a look at this list of remaining drivers and think about who is on it: Casey Mears, David Ragan, Greg Biffle, Sam Hornish Jr., Brian Vickers, Matt Kenseth, Elliott Sadler, J.J. Yeley, Jamie McMurray, and a few others I left out.
They all have something unique about them or something that you can watch a couple of races and say, "When I think of "so and so" I think of "this driver."
I personally am a huge Tony Stewart fan and have often wondered who I would choose to follow if and when Tony retires. I have narrowed it down to Carl Edwards (but this is kind of not fair, we used to race modifieds against him at the dirt track back in Moberly, MO.) or Elliott Sadler (he actually has some of the same atributes as Tony but he just isn't as vocal about things yet, plus he is still looking for that "perfect" car to get him to the front for once. Now, I have also met and partied with Kenny Schrader and Kenny Wallace and let me tell you, these 2 guys are absolutely great guys and VERY funny.
It's not going to be an easy choice but only you can make that "right" choice for you. Don't let anyone steer you in the wrong direction (pun intended, LOL) David Reutimann is going to drive the #44 UPS Toyota. I wish you luck. Terry Labonte was (and is still) my favorite. I haven't been able to pick anyone to take his place.
It's not all bad, though. I've found that it's fun to cheer on different drivers, depending on the circumstances. Especially the underdogs, and the drivers that I think might have gotten an unfair penalty. i got the doll for free somewhere in mint condition and i am never getting rid of it. i am keeping it. never opened. i mean how much would the doll have been when it was out? how much did it go for in 2003? I'd probably say Jeff Burton.. I would say MWR should give the Ride to someone who has Paid their dues like-Boris Said- Mike Bliss or Mike Skinner or Tony Raines!!!!!!!! Kyle Busch. Bobby Labonte, possibly. Or Jeff Burton as mentioned above. Those two are probably the closest to DJ personality wise. They are also great drivers and well respected just like DJ.
If you want a new guy keeping with the same type of person, go with Bowyer. Level headed and easy going. Yet, a heck of a driver!! (He will get a Cup within 5 years) Go with Juan Pablo or Kyle Bush just to pi$@ people off. lol
Thats how I became a Petty fan in the 80's, a Spencer fan in the 90's and a Stewart fan in 1999.

I would have to say I love the short tracks because more skilled is involved and there is alot more action!! I live 6 miles from RIR. My family live 5 miles from Martinsville. I've got it made. My favorite is Martinsville. The racing there is great. There is ALWAYS a great battle going on somewhere. TV does that race no justice. I do as well. Richmond and Bristol are the best IMO. Yes Ma'am I do! I personally live for the short tracks, especially Bristol and Martinsville. There's nothing quite like seeing 43 cars driving over 100mph on something that's only twice the size of your local high school's running track. I hate seeing guys wreck, but I love watching them trade paint and bump and beat each other out of the way on the short tracks. Adrenaline flows, tempers flare, push comes to shove.......... you get the point. Yes. Bristol, Martinsville and Phoenix (one mile flat track). Yes, I do and my favorite is Bristol though I have never been, However I hope before I die I get to go!
Martinsville, and Richmond r also good I love all the action that Bristol typically brings but my favorites are the super speedways! DOES HOWDY DOODY GOT WOODEN BALLS? OF COURSE I LOVE THE FLAT TRACKS! MARTINSVILLE IS MY FAVORITE BUT LOVE THEM ALL!! I agree, I love richmond and bristol. Old school NASCAR.. what's not to love? No I Do Not Id much rather watch a race at Daytona or Charlotte. Although my favorite in person Id have to say is Loudon. Martinsville is my personal favorite. The racing action is great and there are generally fewer cautions there than Bristol. It is much flatter and takes a real finesse driving style to be successful. I like the fact that it is more technical and harder to master than the high banked tracks. The finish last year between Jimmie and Jeff was my all time favorite and is an instant classic. Great racing and finishes at the oldest track in the cup series, not to mention the hotdogs, what more could you want? I love the short tracks......tell me which ones you prefer and why. Richmond-Martinsville-Bristol--I relate to them the Best as I drive on 1/2 Mile Ovals in my state!!!!!!!!! Yeah but I like Talledega and daytona better because of the drafting and escpecially with the new car way more racing and action packed. I like Bristol it's a piece of History The Monster Mile !!!

I love Dover the most!! I live like 4 hours away but I go there because it's amazing!! Martinsville. I love the short tracks. Its what everyone does to get up to the big leagues of racing. It also brings the beatin and banging term back to Nascar.

It depends on what contingency programs the driver or team is participating in. everyone else pitted that was behind Kevin, and then he got out first. Now there were three cars that didn't pit, (11,20,and 88) so they were 1st 2nd and 3rd, so Kevin coming out first from the pits made him 4th!!! Get it!!!?
WhooHoo!!! Congratulations to Jeff Burton!!! The cars behind him on the lead lap pitted man.. or at least that's what I saw. yea alot of the cars that passed him werent on the lead lap and the point at which he crossed the pit line is when the other cars where just now or not yet passing the start\finish line!!!!!!!!!! There was only about 15 cars on the lead lap and most of them also pitted at the same time. Late in the race you have to make a choice. Stay out for track position with old tires or pit and get much better tires and know your car will be faster than the ones that stay out.
There was little risk because he would probably get a top 10 even if nobody else pitted and he probably couldn't win the race on old tires. The tires gave him a shot to win the race especially when everybody else came in meaning he didn't lose any track position. How did Kevin Harvick go into the pits and come out in the fourth position when cars stayed out on the track? I dont understand. Shouldnt have the cars behind him who also stayed out gained track position? Every body else pitted also behind him that was on the lead lap--Some lapped cars stayed out which did happen---BUT seeing as how there was less than 10 laps it was a single file restart!!!!!! All the cars behind him on the lead lap also pitted. they would have if they were on the lead lap but the cars that passed him weren't on the lead lap thats why when they have restarts under caution there will be drivers that are laps down starting in the fronts of the packs at that point there were less than 10 laps left and there were about MAYBE 15 cars on the lead lap most of which pitted except for Hamlin, Stewart, and Earnhardt Well, at bristol it's a little different. There is two pit roads. One on each side. While maintaining pit road speed (anywhere from 30-55 MPH in some places) If you can pit and make it around and out in time before the cars get completely around the track and you can come out in front of them, then u get ur position back. And there was a caution out so he made a pretty good call.

I thought it was a great race. Lots of spectacle, and more than a few upsets.
Can't wait for the Malaysian race. I'm also looking forward to the new tracks. Singapore at night could be interesting. I loved it too glad to actually see a formula 1 supported posting rather than all these other people just slagging the sport off. Cant wait for the rest of the season If it went for Ferrari acting like piss heads then i wud have enjoyed it lol.But i was sooo dissappointed in them,i mean how wrong can you get? I feel soo sorry for Kimi cause at the end of the day the car is letting him down,however,some of the teams decisions not letting him pit when the safety car was deployed are just ridiculous they could have avoided the Heikki incident.And man could he had made places the third time the SC was deployed.It wa just one them weekends u know..

but Kimi today has committed serious errors Oh yeah, what a start to the season. oohs and aargghs right the way through. The first race without TC will certainly go down in the history books. Karen was good company via email, everyone in my house were lightweights and went to bed!!! gutted for Seb B, wasn't he doing well. Lewis drove a faultless race, kovi was robbed in the pits under SC conditions lol, but it was good to see Nico on the podium. The Ferrari's were fast, but are the engines going to be reliable? how many retirements due to engine failure will we see in the future. i thought it was a bit crazy and chaotic, but we got to see some great drives from hamilton, heidfeld, rosberg and boudrais, we also saw ferraris potential, i loved it! I thought it was great. It can be made better but clearly not having certain driver aids-traction control and all of the engine braking capacity-definitely created issues for virtually all of the drivers and really scrambled the field. For the first time in a really long time, there was drama at a F1 race. I loved it!

The pilot of the safety car. What a poor excuse for a race. I can't believe I spent four months looking forward to that. webber :| Lewis Hamilton! I'm a BMW fan so I'm definitely for Robert Kubica!!! my choice will be Alonso, he started okay, paced gradually and was brilliant in the last 15 laps, i agree with firefox, his driving past both raikkonen and kovalainen was one of the best move i have seen lately.
but renault needs to sort few issues, they need to make the car more consistent, it was good in patches. hekki would have been ahead had it been some else driving that car Hamilton. He kept his head down when it mattered, could have lost it so easily with all the safety cars, and didn't drive off the road like several of the other experienced drivers did.
The only reason he wasn't challenged was because his closest rivals were rubbish! Either Barrichello for getting a Honda into the top six or Alonso for managing to finish in front of a McLaren driving that car... Mine is Nico Rosberg. Though I dont like him much, I'd go for Alonso. His overtaking of Kimi and Kovi was like David slaying two Goliaths. Like a vulture he waited as the Finns battled and when the opportunity was there he took it.
The desperate last minute defense by Alonso was a testament to his racing skills. From 11th on the grid to fourth, Alonso is my driver of the race.
(Taking nothing away from Lewis. He was cool and composed as chaos reigned around him, a stellar drive, but from the viewers standpoint, kind of a normal day in office) im a big fan of ferrari but i can say even if i wasn't, i think Kimi did a good job having started in 16th place. he pushed very hard to reach 3rd place. but whatever happened next is not his fault anymore, it's the car's engine failure. 1. Nico Rosberg!!!
2. Nick Heidfeld! i know he didn't finish, but I'd say boudrais, running 4th in a year old reject red bull know matter what the circumstances, is impressive. though rosberg fully deserves his podium Bourdais. Would have been interesting to see where Vettel could have finished if he hadn't had his accident. It has to be Rubens driving that honda into fifth place before he got penalized... Rosberg, It was so good to see a Williams on the podium after all this time. His jig and hug with Hamilton was a lovely sight too!
Agree with Firefox, Hamilton 'did a Schumacher' and disappeared into the distance so not much to say there!
All in all a good season opener! 1st. Kimi- i think he did his better. started in the 16th place, raise up to 8th place in the first lap. he never gave up in racing. hope he can get the 1st place in GP Malaysian next weekend.

I think he has a chance. He started 15th and made his way up to 8th on the first lap. Right now he is 3rd and has yet to pit. If everything goes fine, he'll be on that podium, possibly even the top step.
