Is Tony Stewart a better driver than Kyle Busch??

May be...

  • Tony Stewart right now is the better driver. Busch is having a great year, but Tony has 2 championships. I think I have a idea why Tony is not performing so well this year, he is not happy driving a toyota. Wait till next year when he is back in a chevy.
  • Kyle Busch has more talent
  • if your a real tony fan you wouldnt have any asked ths question
  • Tony is one of the greatest nascar drivers, but it's just isn't a great year for him. He had a couple of races in the bag but some bad luck took him out. Kyle is having a great year, kinda like Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon did last year. Plus, Tony has been distracted to say the least, he badly wants to be driving a chevrolet and next year he will. But I know he wants to win for Joe Gibbs while he's still there.

    Great answer winter glory.
  • I'm super curious about this seeings as how Kyle has 7 wins so far and Tony has 0. If you say Tony is shouldnt he have more wins than Kyle Busch at this point or at least A win?? After all doesnt he have this major horsepower advantage like Kyle that he didnt have last season even though he was higher in points?? Why is Tony and Denny running bad?? Do the Toyotas have a horsepower disadvantage or what??
  • not this year
  • Tony Stewart is a better driver than Kyle Busch. Kyle Busch somehow as pulled out victories because Gibbs has given him a good engine. Tony has 2 NASCAR Cup Series Championships, Kyle has ZERO. He probaly won't have one this year, he will screw up the Chase.
  • It's just that Tony is getting the bad cars...Kyle is getting the juiced up horsepower hogging cars.

Tony should win soon, I can tell you he has to. It would be uncharacteristic of him to not win.

And oh yea, Tony is the better driver.
  • Aww man, you're gonna make me go there on my own favorite driver?

When Rowdy's got himself a couple championships under his belt, we'll talk, till then, Smoke still has him beat.

As far as this season, no one's been better than Kyle.

Heck I even missed the rest of the question, I don't know why Tony hasn't won yet, I know he's had alot on his plate lately.
And Denny's doing okay. He's got a win.

edit: Okay, all the Toyota theories, he HAS won in a Toyota, just not on the cup level, if he didn't want his Camry in vic. lane, why did he win Nationwide races? By saying that's the reason he hasn't won is calling into question his passion to win.

AND did he intentionally have his tire explode within 1/2 a lap of victory lane, just so he wouldn't win in a Toyota?

I get what you're saying about the championship, but come on..you know as well as I do, that everything weighs on the big prize. Why do you think Martin's going to HMS, he wants that championship. Who wants to be the Dan Marino of nascar?
  • Yes. Tony is a many time champion in many different types of cars. Kyle has won a championship in.....nothing.

Everybody has a hot streak once in awhile. Kyle has more wins this year than the entire rest of his career combined. Before this season he had a habit of being very fast and wrecking a lot of cars. The new car is a tank so he doesn't have to worry about abusing it anymore.

Tony has had several very good races this year only to have bad luck cost him wins and good finishes. Everybody has a cold streak once in awhile too.
  • Yes, Smoke is a better driver.

Consider this: Stewart is a Chevy man at heart. Yeah, he absolutely wants to win. But does he really want to win for Toyota?
  • tony is better than kyle... a couple wins in a season that is a little over halfway doesnt even come close to 2 championships... plus tony can still win races... and being a better driver doesnt always mean winning more races it means having a successful career that is stable... kyle hasnt had a very stable career in my opinion and until now tony was very stable in his career maybe not personally
  • You may not agree with me....but I feel Tony is better. The only reason we're seeing goose eggs in the win column is maybe Tony is too loyal to Chevrolet??? If Tony is as loyal to Chevy as he claimed he is during Stewart-Haas press conference why would he or Chevy want to see the #20 in Victory Lane in a Toyota??? Lame duck season? Just a theory.
  • He's definitely a better whiner!!
  • win all the races you want Tony's got 2 cups so id rather have a driver that can get me cups and stuff then a snot nose lil brat any day
  • Yes. Just because Stewart hasn't won this year, doesn't make Kyle a better driver...Tony is a Cup champion, remember??????

    Go JR.>>>>
  • i know where you're going with the "supposed horsepower advantage" and how they should be equal and therefore "better than all the others," but i don't see what that has to do with who is the better driver. even if toyotas did have an hp advantage in cup, which they don't, what difference would that make in determining who is better between kyle and tony? they both drive toyotas for the same team. there should be no horsepower difference between them - jgr builds their own engines.

i think that RIGHT NOW kyle is the better driver - he MAY even be more talented, but that's such an objective measure. kyle is riding a wave and that wave may crash it may not, but he's getting all he can out of it right now - winning everywhere he goes, driving everything he can, and running for multiple teams. tony is pre-occupied. he's a professional and will give it his all, but he had to give it his all in the past in order to win two championships. and at least once, his "all" wasn't enough to get him into the chase. and that was while he wasn't going through the whole move to ownership of his own team, and all the media scrutiny and extra work and pressure that brings on. time will tell who ends up being "the better driver" for all posterity, but for right now, and right now only, kyle's the man in the front seat.

EDIT: i recognize that you are a toyota fan, but i think that by throwing in their "supposed" hp advantage you not only muddle the question at hand, but you put that thought out there again as ammunition for those people who believe it.
  • Tony is definitely the better driver
  • Well, Rowdy has not won a Championship YET. Smoke has 2...so Yep in my book Smoke still RULES.. This yr still has more races left and no Cup for Rowdy yet, re-ask this question in Dec..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • What's more important? More wins or more championships? I hear Kyle Busch is the next Dale Earnhardt. But from the same mouths I hear Dale Earnhardt was a dirty driver. I guess if you want to ignore Tony's history and past win and championships then sure Kyle is the best. While you are at it go ahead and ignore Jeff Gordon's wins, Jimmie Johnson's win, and their championships.

How can you take one person that has had a great 1/2 season and then say he's the best their has ever been? That seems to be what you are implying.

  • well the way i see it tony is the better driver even though he may not have any wins yet this year he is the better driver not because he is a cup champ he has more exp in racing but yea he is better than kyle
  • I would say there are about equal. Tony might even have the edge. Tony has said he hates toyotas, so I'm almost certain that he is not trying as hard as he could. Tony has won in everything that has a gas petal. I know Kyle has 7 wins this year, and Tony has none, but they are still pretty equal in talent. Both drivers are very talented and I don't think any of them is more talented than the other.
  • I am not sure if anyone has brought this fact up, but, who brought Kyle up in NASCAR??? HMS!
As much as i hate admitting it.. HMS is one of the, if not the best orginizations in the racing world. Period.. Bottom line.
Kyle has ambitions and talent, he developed with coming up the ranks, and learned alot at HMS. It sucked he was kept on the back burner for so long.
I am glad he is doing so well with good equipment.
Im got to go with Kyle this season as who is better.
  • no idea..lol
  • DUH!!!!! KYLE BUSCH SUCKS!!!!!! Kyle Busch keeps wreaking people!!!!
  • First off the hp advantage is in the nationwide series NOT the cup series (get it right people) and while yes Kyle has proven to be a good driver to say he is better than a 2 time champ at this point is well pointless let him get a few more years and maybe a championship or 2
  • yaaaay Winter!! Tony is having a rough season so far. I do think we will see him climbing a fence somewhere! maybe even Pocono. He's a better driver. he's a Champ! Kyle is having an awesome year so far. But he isn't a champ. Yet.
  • Scott Pruett on the pole in Montreal?

    May be...

  • Nothing against you, Gloria, as you are not the only one to say this... But, how is Ambrose considered a road course ringer? He has been full time the past 2 years. Just because he grew up racing road courses in Australia doesnt qualify him as a road course ringer.

Anyways, I believe it could be a ringer that wins today. I dont see any of the double duty Cup/Nationwide drivers getting up there and seriously challenging for the win. I am sticking with my prediction from an earlier question, and going with Pruett...

EDIT: Like I said, you weren't alone in saying it, Gloria. Even the "Experts" on ESPN have been listing Ambrose as a ringer.
  • Jacques Vileneuve
  • he does real well in rolex series and won 2 weeks ago. he does well in nascar too on road courses and he raced at infineion in 2008 and had an ok run.
  • The word ringer should be banned. The only ringers are the cup and nationwide regulars that win all the time. Today may be different just because of the experience the road racers have at Montreal. I'm going with Pruett. He is just unstoppable the last couple years as long as his car holds up.

What lap will Boris break his car? He usually tears it up rather quickly. lol

    He's so overrated.
  • Could happen, my bet would be on Ambrose..

edit: I always seem to think of Ambrose as a ringer..
  • I hope Carl Edwards wins but I think a road ringer will win. If I had to pick a road ringer, I would go with Boris Said.
  • no edwards to win
  • With Pruett on the pole, and all the ringers except Simo in the top 7, do you think a ringer is gonna win?

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • Scott is great, but I'm going with Jacques Villeneueve the home town fav.. I'm hoping for a top 10 for Brad Keselowski, and that he finishes ahead of Bowyer to get closer in the points..

    Viva Jacques!!!
  • Is it Mike Helton, the insurance companies or various religious groups that limit NASCAR?

    May be...

  • You want another guy to go down? Buddy, it's 2008, not 1958. Safety is THAT important.

    Insurance companies are doing what?

What religious groups? Mormons? Doing what?
  • Well with so many rules and regulations yeah it isn't like it used to be. But then do you want to lose another good man??? I certainly don't. I'll take safety over beatin and bangin though I do love a good wreck when it does not involve my guys.

There are still a few drivers out there who still have a pair....

AND...what religious groups??? NASCAR has all my respect in the world that i can muster for keeping the opening prayer before the race!! And except for the invocation prior to the race I don't see anything religious going on.
I've been to many a race and haven't seen the hare krishnas passing out flowers or anything so I don't know what you mean by the religious thing.
  • It is all three and many more. Sadly we have become a culture ruled by safety first and lawyers. I would like to see the old style of racing but it won't happen.
  • If ya wanna see death and gore, follow drunk drivers home from bars late nights and witness it first-hand, lol !
  • Heck yea man. That's the kind of racing I want to see. Maybe when they get through figuring the car out we can see some real racing. It seems like the new car is a lot safer. Maybe next year after some more testing an tweaking on the car they can do it.
  • Race day and races could be a lot different ya' know - and a lot better! Do we really care about safety THIS much? Wouldn't you rather see a driver with the kind of balls that will let them push it to the edge a beatin' and bangin' on doors all the way down the straight-a-way a crashin' and passin' while the only ones complaining about boo boo dents are the skin men?
  • it aint gonna happen
  • How much beer is consumed?

    May be...

  • Too much!
  • OMG, way way to much, but some people tend to drink more than others.. But I bet theres enough to fill many olympic size swimming pools..(and those pools are not small)

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I did find an article stating that at the 2004 Daytona 500, they estimated about 200,000 gallons of beer consumed.

    The article made me laugh.

    http://thebrushback.com/daytona_full.htm
  • I'd say more than enough by some people!
  • way to much,
  • at least one too many by those drinking and throwing crap, that's for sure...
  • 12 ounces?
  • I hope this is a complement...
  • Girl, you ask too many questions!
  • I sometimes wonder if NASCAR should have a proud sponsor of "Let'em have just one". It would mellow out a couple of them that really need it.
  • depends if it's a drinkin' day. if it's hot, 650 thousand
gallons would just about do it for Loudon NH. urp.
  • HANG ON LET ME GO ASK BUBBA HE'LL KNOW!!LOL
  • yeah too much.....but there will never be a limit...waaay big sponsor there.
  • i'm not sure their fruitcake... Last time I was in New Hampshire there they was running onto the track, doing backflips off they car's !!
It was crazy !! I'm telling ya !!
  • 1 megaton
  • I'm sure it depends on the track. Some peoples likes corn liquor. That's what it all started with.
  • I personally tried to drink all the beer at Texas Motor Speedways April race last year and all I wound up with was a really bad sunburn and a headache!!

Judging by the crowd I wasn't doing a good enough job keeping the beer drank so it would be out of the hands of the booing mob though.
  • Don't forget the whiskey and moonshine!
  • How much beer is consumed at a Nascar race?
  • Since all the tire problems at Indy should NASCAR consider other tire companies?

    May be...

  • yes they should, you would think a tire company who supplies nascar a major sporting event would make something that works. that is like a football falling apart in the 3rd quarter. to think that a good year blimp is made out of that same rubber is a scary thought.
  • NASCAR should introduce Michelin tires, Teresa and DeLana should stop shaving their pits, and Brian France and Todd Helton should grow pencil-thin mustaches and wear berets! That would be, how you say, fantastique! Oui! Oui!

No, seriously, the answer isn't so cut-and-dry. NASCAR and Goodyear are under contract for 2-3 more years, at least. However, we shouldn't be happy with Goodyear. Both NASCAR and Goodyear failed at the Brickyard debacle. All was handled well, but the whole fiasco could have been avoided with more testing by NASCAR and Goodyear both.

Should NASCAR bring in another tire company to compete with Goodyear? Ask most of the drivers from the 80's and early 90's and they'll answer with a resounding NO. When Goodyear and Hoosier were competing in cup, they would compete to bring not a safer tire, but a faster tire. Safety was completely neglected, and cars were flying all over the place. You think Indy was bad... wait until you see a superspeedway race on supersoft tires. It won't be pretty.

If, once Goodyear's contract is up, another tire company can prove that they can put as much or more R&D as Goodyear does into the tire, all at a similar or better cost, then yes, NASCAR should switch companies. But think about this: Goodyear is an American company. Michelin is French, as you might have noticed, and Bridgestone/Firestone is Japanese. If NASCAR were to switch to one of these companies, the backlash from NASCAR fans may be even higher than the attacks thrown at the introduction of Toyota. So, France, Pemberton, and company have to ask themselves, "Is it worth the cost?"
  • Mark Martin said today's tires are not like the older tires. He said they aren't "sticky or gooey" enough and they don't lay down rubber well enough on the tracks. He said that the tires they have now lays down a fine powder. Mark has been into racing a while and he should know. So if Goodyear has a problem with "sticky and gooey" tires then yes bring in someone who can make a tire.
  • Simply put, no. Goodyear had 1 limited test session back in April on the diamond cut track with the new COT car. It is called trial and error. Goodyear didn't drop the ball, NASCAR did by not allowing proper time for testing. Now that it happen, you can be certain more testing will prevail a tire that will handle the COT's down force on that track.
  • goodyear has an exclusive contract with nascar through at least 2012 (see article below). they drop the ball here and there, but they are under a lot of "pressure" so to speak, with the new car being run on new tracks. this time, they just missed badly, and they are primarily to blame. but some of that blame lies with nascar and with the crew chiefs who were given a list of places to test to choose from and they didn't pick indy this year.

so no, goodyear has a lot invested so far and they accumulated huge amounts of data with the new car at all the tracks this year and last. bringing anyone else in is just asking to go through even more "growing pains" as they come "up to speed."
  • Yes goodyear dropped the ball. They can't figure out the COT so bring in some new minds. I say give HOOSIER a try
  • "NO" We done been through a tire war before we don't need another. Hay the people at Goodyear are only human! I'm not going to count them out over 1 mess up.
  • Sewart certainly thinks so and now that he's an owner look for him to really push for the good old tire wars days with Firestone.
  • YES..THE G0ODYEAR TiRES ARE GARBAGEEEEEEE !
  • Back in the late 80's and early 90's we had Hoosier and Goodyear. Should we see the return of Hoosier or the intro of BF GOODRICH?
Or should we be happy with Goodyear?
  • 1.8.08

Does anyone know who has the poll in the NASCAR race at Pocono? Also, who are the next five in the race?

    May be...

  • gordon put down a heck of a lap, but they're some great drivers still to go, including the busch bros...

EDIT: mark martin just smoked 'em and is now the provisional pole sitter.

EDIT II: jimmie johnson really smoked'em by 21/100ths and is the provisional pole sitter.

EDIT III: they're well into the go-or-go-homers now, so it looks like jimmie on pole.
  • Boy, I can't even answer this one. Only the guys watch that here. I'd have to ask the ole mans cousin. i'll get back to you on it. L M A O
  • 1 48 Jimmie Johnson Chevrolet Leader
    2 8 Mark Martin Chevrolet -0.209

  • Pole*

    And it's LIVE on ESPN2

  • How do formula 1 cars get so much hp from a 2.4l engine

    May be...

  • F1 engines are normally aspirated, which means one can only get so much air into it, less than atmospheric pressure at best.
So you have a certain amount of air, no matter how much fuel you can throw into it without sucking in any more air you're not gonna get lots of power.
That's why F1 engines don't produce lots of torque, around 55 Kgm which is less than your neighbors' turbocharged Audi.
The secret to getting power out of normally aspirated engine is to rev it as high as possible.
You want crazy power you have to rev like crazy and that's what they do.
They are rev limited at 19000rpm or they would already be past 20000 which any way you look at it is nothing short of insane for a big 4 stroke cylinder.
  • aerodynamics , light weight , formula 1 fuel
and if your an american european engines are usually smaller size but with the same power as american cars because of using cleaner fuel
  • its the fuel they use (formula 1)
  • If you supercharge a 4 cylinder 16 valve overhead cam engine with dual 3 in. exhaust and use a high performance ignition 20,000 volts or better, then put it all in a light weight carbon fiber body thats what you get.
  • Well, without going all geeky and confusing.
An F1 engine only weighs approx 100kg, only has to last 400kms and can rev up to around 19,000 rpm, where most road cars go to about 6000rpm.
Economy is sacrificed, 3.5 mpg tops, no chocking emissions equipment like catalytic converters.
  • Julian and Christos have given good answers so I'll add just a little bit more.
As they've pointed out, the power comes from the extremely high rev range. The reason they achieve this in such a small engine is reasonably simple actually.
It seems as though a shorter piston stroke allows higher engine speeds to be achieved. So by reducing the length of the stroke the bore size is increased a proportional amount resulting in a 2.4l engine. So, in a normal road car you have a narrow piston with a long stroke and an F1 car just has a really fat piston that doesn't have to travel as far.
That's about as well as my limited mechanical knowledge can explain it unfortunately. I hope this coupled with some of the other answers helps.
  • Nascar REAL FANS..are you not sick and tired of these so called Fans posting sexual overtones questions??

    May be...

  • I'll join you on this quest. Just remember, questions like this draw attention to them, too.
  • Seems to me that they are only trying to make us give answers for their gratification...and we should just ignore these idiots since they definitely do not know how offensive they are and don't care..I say..DO NOT ANSWER and give them satisfaction and maybe they will stop at least for a few days!! Forever would be better in my book?!
  • Agreed.

My daughter posted her first question in the nascar section yesterday. I'm not allowing her back over until all these questions with sexual innuendo's stop.
  • Been on this site for more than 2 years and this year (race season) has been the worst when it comes to sexually oriented questions, and plan out one sided questions.
Answers and Questions being reported because some body got their feelings hurt because you talked bad about "their" driver,boo-hoo-hoo!
Not everyone likes the same driver or team, that's why this was such a good forum until late last season and this season.
But questions with "sexual" overtones and immaturee fans are ruining this site.
But for every bad participant there are the good fans that ask good questions and give good answers.
  • "Seems to me that they are only trying to make us give answers for their gratification"

    Well WHAT is this????
  • NIce attempt to imposter me there kid. You're one clown short of a circus.
  • of course they're only trying to provoke us, and we'll fall for it again and again - if not you or me or five people, then others will. sad but true. so many times i've looked at a question and thought i wouldn't answer it and then five minutes later twenty people already have - some regulars, some not-so-regulars (so to speak ;-)

wandering around YA a little more, i've found we definitely could have it worse. i'd say i'd join you, but i know sooner or later someone will post a question and i'll have one of those "moments" where you have the perfect smartass answer - one you usually don't think of till long after the fact, and i just can't resist... i'm weak that way...
    ;-)

    but good luck!!! i'll try...
  • I've ignored them as much as I can, they aren't worth the time it would it take me to write a response.

I am not a huge poster in this section or others for that matter, but I usually check in everyday. I see all these, is Dale Jr gay? Is Jeff Gordon gay? Is Tony Stewart gay? I think the people that ask those questions are either gay or jealous or both. Atleast know when you see one of those questions, there is another person world could do without. I am still a firm believer of being able to shoot 6 random people a week, you know thin the herd a little.
  • I am with you Tom. Lets just all go down the line and push the report abuse problems.
  • Pay no attention to the trolls. They are sad little people and when there isn't a Star Trek or Star Wars convention, they have nothing to do. They'll never have dates and their sex lives get ruined by carpal tunnel syndrome. Since these people will live and die alone, cut them some slack and let them have some pleasure in this world.
  • Its summer and the trolls are out in full gear this summer, hopefully when school goes back in session, they will get bombared with homework and will have not time for us. and we can get some real questons on here.. I think I'm just going to start ignoring their questions..But they do seem to get a real rise out of firing us up and rattling our cages.

    Go Dale Jr & hms
  • I personally don't think it's that big of a deal. My feeling is, if you don't like the question, don't answer it. I do understand Winter Glory, your child read that question and it was inappropriate. Some of them cross the line, but most can just be ignored.
  • :) Nough said
  • That's right darlin.
  • Friends, Racers, Countrymen. Lend me your report button..(my apologies to Caesar)

If we all band together, when these nuckfuts' ask an offensive question just simply report it as offensive. It only takes two reports to have a question reviewed. Enough reports, the askers account gets suspended. Since YA! does very little to even try and control the influx of trolls, we HAVE to take it upon ourselves to say...

    "It presses the report button"

    Who's with me????
  • When we did not have the power to self moderate it was much worse, if you can imagine. If it is uncalled for in the NASCAR forum and it offends you report it. I'm not saying to report stuff just because you don't agree with them but we all know what is just trying to disrupt this place and what is legitimate. I am not afraid to use the report feature if it is called for. The tr0!!$ may say that it is lame to report but that is just because it removes their objectionable material. Waaaaaa, too bad!
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • dianne it's like this. these trolls are like a fire, and we are the fuel that feeds that fire. so basically if we can somehow contain ourselves then these fires the trolls are starting will not be as big. i think as fans of the sport we should just ignore them and hopefully they will go back in their caves for good eventually.
    :-)

they really know how to bait and it's hard to say no. but once a nascar regular answers one of their questions more seem to follow. from now on let's not give them the honor of adding fuel to their ever growing fires. just ignore it and hopefully it will go away
    ;-)

i join you in your fight!!!
  • It amazes me how obsessed this one troll or trolls are with gay and NascarвЂ"I just do not get it. I’ll try to stay out of the stupid troll forums. But the environmentalist troll forums, I have to set them straight, but yes this tin man’s вЂgay’ questions are getting a little obnoxious and I agree with you.

THAT IS NOT THE REAL WINTER FYI

Tom P- I love pressing buttons, never pressed the report one but I am going to try!

EDIT: EEK! #18 #1 fan and T-Bone now have clones too.
I'd like to be cloned from 8 years ago too!
  • The trolls do pretty much suck on here. The sexual questions I agree with y'all report everyone of them. As for the others heck I like to jump right in and just pizz them off. I am now blocked by 1/2 these little jerks which is fine with me, it shows me #1 they can't take it...I love that & #2 it's probably the same couple little punks that are doing it since even the new id's that show up in here I am already blocked. The only way that can happen is if they already know my attitude with them and block me before I even have a chance to give my 2 cents. I am always tempted to create an alter-ego myslef and show up in the kiddies blocked questions just to let them know 2 can play. But dosen't really interest me enough to go that far.

Just think only 4 more weeks till the little kiddies go back to school, the playgrounds will be full again, they will be having nappy time on thier little mats with some milk & cookies. All will be quiet in Y/A.

Unitl then....Boogity, boogity, boogity let's trample them Trolls folks!

  • This is because it is still summer vacation and the kiddies have nothing better to do...............
  • Music for car racing? Help Please!

  • Winter i was wondering why of all people why u would ask this question?? Then i saw you were answering also how did someone clone your account??
  • Micheal Waltrip...Poor guy needs all the help he can get...He is a daytona 500 winner!!!!
  • You choose.

Edit: Holy #@#@ Winter; I really though that was you! That is bizarre.

Edit 2: Nope, I am wrong again you are the one who asked the question because your 11% answer and the one 2 above is 0%.
  • well watch the games or shows and pick which ones the hottest lol jk but if thats how u want to choose do it you should watch it and then whom ever apeals to you Pick em thats what i do
  • What happened to Kyle Busch? Didn't your name used to say, "Winter Glory says go Kyle Busch?"

Oh, you're an IMPOSTER!! Sorry the real Winter Glory.
I'm removing you from my contacts and adding the REAL Winter Glory.. I've been lied to..

Wait a minute... now I'm confused.. one says their account was made this year, but says they've been trolled, and the one made last year says they have a troll.. what the -!?

    I need an answer somebody!!

Ok, ok, you're the real Winter Glory. Phew!
  • You need to pick for yourself. a driver that has qualities you like. For Example I am a big mark Martin fan because he is consistent.
  • You are already a fan of one of the best. Don't change.
  • jeff gordon
  • I wouldn't recognize you any other way than Kyle Busch. Stay with Kyle.
  • You should be a fan of Aric Almirola when Mark Martin gets on outta the #8 car.
  • O.o Why are you asking us? You should find that out for yourself :)
  • stick with kyle busch. nothing wrong with that.
  • Winter we love ya just as you are
  • Kyle Busch
  • Dale Earnhardt Jr hes the best driver in the Cup Series, Brad Keselowski in the Nationwide Series, and Ron Hornaday or Matt Crafton in the Truck Series.
  • Has any one led all the laps of a nascar race?

    May be...

  • yes, three times in the modern era, once by jeff burton, and twice by cale yarborough. burton led all 300 laps at loudon in september, 2000. yarborough led all 500 laps at bristol in 1973. yarborough also led all 420 laps in nashville, 1978.

"2000 -- Year Jeff Burton led all 300 laps to win the Dura-Lube 300, just the third time in the modern era that a driver has led every lap of a Cup Series race."

    http://www.nascar.com/2006/news/features...

"In the 1970s, putting Cale Yarborough on a short track with a dominant car was a recipe for a runaway victory. And it was never more apparent than in the 1973 Southeastern 500 at Bristol International Speedway.

Yarborough did what today would be almost unthinkable. He led all 500 laps from the pole -- meaning the entire race was run without a lead change. And he did it under unusual circumstances, since it took two weeks to complete the race because of rain.
    ...
Yarborough [also] led all 420 laps of the 1978 Music City 420 [at Nashville], passing pole-sitter Lennie Pond on the first lap and never looking back."

    http://www.nascar.com/2008/news/opinion/...

the article right above says that it was not that uncommon before the modern era, and four others did it in the 60's - richardy petty (nashville 1964 & 1966), darel dieringer (north wilkesoboro, 1967), and jack smith (one of the qualifying races, daytona, 1960).

as for how they did it - kerafaith's got it, except for the fact that burton started in second, labonte was on the pole, but burton passed him the first lap. i didn't see the race, but as long as ALL the lead lap cars pitted together under caution and burton's pit stall was past the start/finish line then as long as he came in first and left first, he'd always be the lap leader.

yarborough, on the other hand, lapped everybody fairly early in the bristol race - they ran 52 laps, had a two week rain delay, then came back and he lapped everybody quickly. he ended up beating 2nd place finisher richard petty by 2 laps and he beat the 10th place finisher by 38 laps!!!
  • 3 times
  • Wait. If Jeff Burton won by leading in the pack, how did he get enough gas for the entire race? They lose polling position when they make a pit stop right?
  • Rowdy is Correct I was at that race & being he had the #1 stall & every lead car followed for pit stops he obviously crossed the start/ Finish line first & was also the first to leave Pit Road It was actually a boring race but he was dominate all day & deserved the win
  • No. Some people have answered 'yes' to this question, but when the lead car pits, other cars then assume the lead for a lap or two.
  • The last time this occurred was when Jeff Burton, then driving the #99 Ford, led flag to flag at a race at New Hampshire. The race itself was unique as it was a restrictor plate race. This was because of the at the time recent deaths of Adam Petty & Kenny Irwin Jr. at the same course. This was the only time that it was used there however.
  • It's my understanding that it's only happened twice. Jeff Burton was the most recent at NH a few years ago. He started second but passed Bobby Labonte on the first lap and never lost the lead, even with pit stops.
  • #18 Rowdy said it all, cannot add to that!
  • Ricky Bobby did.
  • Yes it has, see results by year on www.nascar.com
  • Rowdy's Fan got it. In 2000 the 2nd race at Loudon of that season. Jeff Burton led all 300 laps. That was also the first & last restrictor plate race at Loudon.

^^^Solarchimp^^^ If memory serves me correctly, Burton was also the pole winner. He had the #1 pit position on pit road. Everytime he pitted so did all of the lead lap cars therefore retaining the lead scoring position during the pitstop. After every pit stop he beat all the other cars off pitroad, effectively keeping the lead. And noone was able to pass him on the track, althouh in the final 10 laps of so, Bobby Labonte (I think) did give him a run for his money but never succeeded in passing him. Therefore noone but Jeff Burton led a lap that day.
  • Yup... Rowdy's got it.....
  • Who is the best driver out of these sons and fathers?

    May be...

  • Dale E. Sr and Dale Jr
  • Both are good! :)

    Go Dale Jr.!!!
    JUNIOR NATION!!!
  • Ok I Like Jr But how can you compare him to Sr

    Dale Sr / Dale Jr
    Starts 676 / 311
    Poles 23 / 8
    Wins 76 / 18
    Top 5's 281 / 83
    Top 10's 428 / 133
    NASCAR Title 7 / 0 (coming Soon)
    Earnings $42mil. / $44,337,131
    IROC Titles 4 / 0
Bumps & Cage Rattlings lost count
  • Sr.
  • Dale Senior by far!!
  • Wwell since you only put one pair up there I will go with who I think is the best of the two and that is Dale Sr. by far.
  • There both great
  • Dale Sr., hands down.
  • They both rock unlike Jeff Gordon.
  • Dale JR not Dale SR :)
  • No contest, Dale Sr....
  • It's hard to tell which one is better because Dale Sr raced when it was real racing and Dale Jr races in today's politically correct NASCAR. Not to mention Teresa was an influence in both their careers, but in very different ways.

When Dale Sr was alive and DEI was booming, Dale Jr won 2 Busch championships in 2 seasons with a total of 13 wins. After he died DEI only did well for a few seasons after that, then went downhill fast. That's one thing you definitely can't say about Richard Childress Racing. That's why the 2 drivers are incomparable. They've raced under completely different circumstances.

I know that's really not the answer you were looking for, but that's my perspective on it.
  • Where are the other fathers and sons?

    Sr.'s better..
  • Senior
  • They Both Rock and they are both good but Dale Sr was 1 in million Drivers and He was the Best!!!
Dale Sr is the Greatest Driver Who Ever Lived

    Go Dale Jr #88
  • If you were NASCAR would you keep or do away with the COT?

    May be...

  • I would keep it but have a serious look at the load problem on the right side going through the turns. This would help with some of the tire problems. Would also test a couple other tire companies just to see.
  • Keep it. For drivers safety only.
Something (great racing) has to be sacrificed for something else (safety).

And the bottom line is we don't want to lose anymore of our boys.
  • Get rid of it, The old car was faster. The C.O.T cars sucks
  • Seven years worth of rigorous planning, designing, testing, and money right out the window? Fat chance. I'd be disappointed in NASCAR if they went away with the COT. It would tell me that they gave up. They just don't care anymore.
  • yes, they suck.
  • I,d get rid of it and those stupid restrictor plates...
  • if i was nascar my mind would already be made up - i'd be nascar and they made up their minds years ago. now, if i were in put in charge of the decision, i'd keep it, but take some input from the teams. i'd try to be at least one-tenth as flexible as they are about using that input to make changes as they are about making engine changes in the nationwide series because of (primarily) one owner's whining.
  • BYe BYE!!!!! It SUCKS!!
  • I would like to see it gone but it will not. They have too much invested in it.
  • If I were Nascar I'd keep the COT! Because lots of money has been invested in it!!!
Nascar needs to talk to the teams, drivers, crew chiefs, etc. After getting their input make changes that will give the COT more adjustability!! A lot of these races this year are just boring!! I'll give them a little help right off, throw that splitter in the dumpster!!!
    PEACE
  • WHY OR WHY NOT???
  • Give it a chance guys. Nothing works how it should the first time around and if you haven't noticed NASCAR has been making changes to the COT as the season progresses.

Going faster is not always a good thing. You can have a really fast car but if it is not a safe car and it is not able to handle the tracks what good is a really fast car.

I honestly believe that if Dale Sr. was driving the COT with all the safety features he would still be racing today.

Give the car and NASCAR a chance.
  • Keep it but listen to the driver's complaints.
  • They have to keep it now. NASCAR spent millions developing it. They made the teams spend millions building new cars and most probably got next to nothing for the old cars which couldn't be used except in ARCA and maybe some regional NASCAR series. They would drive almost everybody out of the sport if they forced them to go back and build all new cars again.

They need to tweak the COT so it turns better and get some better tires. The old car took 25 years to become what it was. It didn't just pop up in the early 80s running like that.

The funny thing is last year on most of the short tracks it raced pretty good. This year it doesn't race as good even on the tracks they ran last year.
  • I have mixed decisions. The old car was more more exciting and faster. The new one is safer
  • At this point in time, I would keep the COT. It has proven itself to be a much safer car. Safety should be first in NASCAR. These cars don't flip over or fly up like the old cars, many more benefits to the drivers.

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • I would-they can't, because NASCAR has millions invested in a loser, have required all the teams to build COT's.

I don't know which race it will happen, NASCAR will have to pay someone like Morgan Shepard to field a COT to have 43 cars start the race. It WILL happen.

We are already getting announcements from strong team owners that they are not fielding four cars next year.
  • NASCAR needs to get rid of their cots. Looks like France, Helton, and Pemberton could all use some physical exercise.

Oh, the Car of Tomorrow. I don't have a problem with it. However, it is a whole different creature than the old car (which was based on the 1966 Fairlane), and NASCAR obviously needs to do more testing with it and tires. Oh, and they should get rid of those unsafe bump stop things that were actually outlawed at one time! I'd keep it, but I'd want more time with R&D on it.
  • COT Has got to go....go back to the ole days......run with what ya have, it peters out ,try next week
  • get rid of the COT and come up w/ something that's a little of both safe but more exciting, and it wouldn't take much to make it more exciting
  • 30.7.08

Do you think making a petition could get kodak to fully sponsor the #4 car on tonys team?

    May be...

  • Kind of doubt that they would. Out of respect to Morgan-McClure Motorsports if nothing else. The McClures and Kodak split on good terms when sponsorship went to original #77 team. So now that Morgan-McClure can't run due to lack of sponsorship it'd be a smack in the face to once again sponsor a #4 car. Also agree with previous answer that $$$ would be a factor with Kodak as well....their spreadsheet is not as stable as it was a few years ago. If they stay in NASCAR, chances are they will stay with PENSKE.
  • Kodak is barely hanging on to being a company. I agree that would be cool, but it's unrealistic.
  • I remember last year when people were trying to get a petition going to let JR keep the number 8........

We all know how that ended.
  • What Winter Glory says.
Sponsorships: when thinking about who might sponsor what car you've got to think about the economy. Right now lots of big guns are in a down cycle. Look at who is making money: energy companies, especially oil companies, companies that offer good merchandise for a fair price, some home improvement places (although Home Depot seems to be having issues), cell phone companies, technology companies, etc. Watch for companies who are fuel dependent to start to pull back: Fed Ex, UPS, etc.
So if you think on it, you can understand why Kodak is not going to be a primary sponsor: the emergence of digital photo equipment. If you want to petition someone, start with those who are raking in the big bucks, not the ones who are laying off workers.
  • I think the days of sole sponsorship are about over nobody can afford to do it anymore or at least not willing too
  • How about State Water Heaters? They're already in a sponsorship deal with Haas, and they used to sponsor Ward Burton in the 4 as well!
  • Not just a petition but if it does a lot better next year then maybe... Just my opinion.
  • Making a petition wouldn't work, but it would be cool if Kodak did sponsor the car
  • Unfortunately the Kodak company has had it's share of hard times with the digital revolution, it's having a difficult time keeping up. So, most likely it probably wouldn't do much good.
    It's all about $$

edit:That'd be great, I'm an amateur photographer, so I'd love to see it, I still go old school, SLR. Kodak's the best film out there.
  • What is/are your favorite...?

    May be...

  • favorite: jgr - as they are the "brat pack" (good one winter glory and trego)

least favorite: roush fenway. don't get me wrong - i like the drivers, crew chiefs, and other employees - or at least most of them. i like carl, matt, greg, and david, jimmy pfennig, robby reiser, etc. but the owner, that's another story. i used to like jack, but "the cat in the hat's" whining about both toyota and chevy is getting old.
  • Hendrick, RCR, and next year - Stewart Haas.
  • Hendrick, RCR, And Gibbs, (I like Smoke)
  • My favorite driver is Matt Kenseth
My favorite team is Roush Fenway and Yates
  • Roush and uh.............................
    uh.............
    UH!..............
    ..idk
  • I'm a JGR girl..

The "brat pack" (Trego used to call them that, always thought it was funny)
  • Hendrick Motorsports but I also like RCR !
  • NASCAR Sprint Cup teams?

    I like
Dale Earnhardt Inc, Front Row Motorsport and Team Red Bull

    ~Truex Menard Fanatic
  • HENDRICK- RCR
  • Robby Gordon Racing!
  • I am really not a team fan, more a driver fan. Jr. and Smoke, but not the teams.

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • HMS, Red Bull, and DEI
  • Petty Enterprises

im sorry i said any thing its none of my buisness and you seem like a nice guy.
  • maybe next year stewart-haas
    hendricks now and dei

i didnt know energy drinks were bad why dont you get carded for them at least its not clggarettes
  • I like Roush Fenway.

I also like seeing that Red Bull Racing is doing better this year though.
  • Rouch Racing, Furniture row, and Chip Ganassi (only because Reed Sorenson drives for him)
  • Joe Gibbs Racing, Gillette Evernham Racing , Robby Gordon Racing and Morgan Shepards...Racing with Jesus if that is the teams name.
  • RCR, GEM & Roush.... OK.. Penske(just because Kurt Drives for them)
  • I have to say Gillette Evernham Motorsports but I have a spot in my heart for Doug Yates Racing.
  • RCR, DEI (not the owner, however), Roush, and Team Red Bull.

Who's that in your new avatar?
  • Dirt tracks in NASCAR?

    May be...

  • The drivers would love it,but NASCAR and the corporate sponsors don't want it.ARCA runs dirt at Springfield and DuQuoin Illinois, both are 1 mile dirt tracks.
Personnally I'd love to see a good cup race on dirt.
"Dirt is to race on.Asphalt is to get there"
  • sorry to say but never gonna happen..the COT is not for dirt racing..at this point i don't even know if they ready for any track...Nascar needs to take a REAL look at at the problems and give the teams some lead way and make changes as needed.. or at least give them a break and LISTEN to the engineers for a change

    PapaBill..WTG love your answer!
  • lol have you seen what happens to those cars splitters when they take a trip through the dirt??? That would NEVER work without some major modifications to the car. But it would be interesting. Never gonna happen. But it would be cool to see all 43 guys on dirt. The guys like Gordon, Edwards, Bowyer, and Stewart would have some kinda advantage on the rest of the field!
  • Yea, at Tony Stewart's track, Eldora!
  • Would you like to see a Dirt Track added to the NASCAR circuit? I for one would. Texas Motor Speedway here is so damn boring they should throw some dirt on it and then we could have some fun, but it would be much to long.

Is there a chance of a dirt track bring added to the circuit?
  • Current car couldn't do it. But with a few tweaks it could be done. ARCA to the best of my memory used to race at Pensacola FL, a dirt track. ARCA cars are similar to the "car of yesterday" so with a few tweaks COT could do it. But where? Eldora is great but if all 43 is going to race and pit we're talking bigger track.
  • NASCAR on dirt would be very interesting but never gonna happen. Most of todays drivers are the biggest bunch of whiners. They want to be able to jump in a car, floor it and just run around the track for a couple of hours. Dirt is way more finese with the throttle and brakes and not so much engineering. There are a handful of drivers that could cut the mustard on dirt and you usually see them at the Prelude to the Dream running Late Models at Eldora.
  • NO! Those cars are NOT designed to run on dirt! Get a clue!
  • It would be great, but it's never gonna happen. Imagine the expense of preparing yet another car/cars for one dirt race a year.

    Go JR.>>>>
  • There is always a chance anything can happen, but a snow ball's chance in hell isn't a very good one.
  • u realize wat ur asking is like asking

"why do baseball players not shoot baskets?" because that's what basketball is for!

"Why do nascar drivers not race on dirt?" because that's whatd dirt racing is for!
  • Texas is boring?!?! Do you remember the great race last year between Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth in the fall? I like Texas and the high speeds they run there and would not call that boring. A dirt track would be cool but it's not going to happen.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • Dale jr on pit road?

  • has any one hear how the guy is doing that Jr. ran over at Id ?
how bad did he get hurt or did he die . you don't hear any thing about it , just like to know ok any one know ?
  • I think Ky Busch was just hunting a reason to bad mouth Jr.
  • Didn't hear about that.
  • That guy is fine..
  • i sure will be glad when he wins the cup this year so he cn break out of the box and whipass
  • Kyle was just being Kyle had to give an excuse for such a bad showing in his eyes, I am sure that it happened but it was bad something more would have been said about it. Accidents happen in pit row sometimes. And since apparently Junior was involved they are going to blow it out of porportion.
  • Considering that no-one got hurt, yeah you could say he's okay.
  • Close call, no one hurt..that's racing and everyone on pit road knows it can happen and that is why there are so many officials and safety crews on pit road just in case an incident happens..glad you were concerned!
  • It was just a close call, if he would have realy hit the guy we would have heard more about it..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I am a big Jr fan and didn't hear anything about it...........Was he standing next to Santa Claus or the Easter bunny when it happened???
  • the guy is ok
  • JR DID NOT RUN OVER ANYONE IT WAS A CLOSE CALL AND THATS ALL THE CAR IN FRONT OF HIM WAS SHALLOW IN THE BOX AND JR HAD TO AVOID A CREW MEMBER WHILE PULLING OUT OF HIS BOX
  • Never heard about that.

    Sounds bad.
  • So is everyone making a bigger deal out of this because it involves Jr?

Not the first guy to get hit (if it did happen) on pit road, and won't be the last.

Do Jr fans blow Jr out of proportion? Or is it the haters? Hmmm.
  • Gosh, you got a lot of haters out there! I don't know why so many people would assume that you are making a big deal out of it just because it was Jr. First off, I don't think you are making a big deal out of it, second, I don't think you were asking just because it was Jr. I think that you are concerned and curious, how is that wrong? Anyway, I heard that the guy is ok.
  • I imagine if he'd actually been hurt, we would have heard more. I think the guy just got bumped. Junior doesn't run over people like Danica does.
  • More short tracks in NASCAR?

    May be...

  • That would be fine with me, especially if Indy is not going to resurface their track. Short tracks are much more interesting in my opinion..............But I would not look for the Brickyard to lose their spot in the rotation; it is too big of a spectacle
  • There is no way they will drop the Brickyard 400, no way! I'd like to see them come to the new 7/8 mile track in Iowa.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • if they get rid of anything i hope it the road races....But no i havent heard of them dropping or adding anything
  • Dont know where you heard, or read, this at... I can practically guarantee that the Cup cars will be at Indy next year, and for many years, to follow...

As Rowdy said, the Nationwide cars will not be in Mexico City next year... Other than that, until you can provide a solid link with proof of these facts you stated, it is all just a rumor...
  • haven't heard anything about schedule changes other than the nationwide series is dropping their stop in mexico and looking at the iowa speedway to replace it.
  • they are adding kentucky in 2010
    dont know what gets dropped
  • I would pay big money PPV to see a Cup race on Dirt. They used to run them all the time up until the early 70's
  • I hope they do, and bring back Rockingham and Wilkesboro while they are at it.
  • what i don't want them to get rid of Indy!
And I guess more short tracks are alright, but i do not like martinsville. too slow. i like bristol and richmond.
  • I'd love to see more short tracks.

Indy isn't going anywhere. It has by far the biggest crowd in NASCAR. It has over 250k seats and they still have some infield areas which can bring crowds over 300k if they wanted. Before they put the F1 track in they had crowds reported to be close to 400k for the Indy 500 (before the split).
  • I heard that NASCAR will be dropping Indy and some others and adding more short tracks. Is this true?

Sounds good to me, Bristol and Martinsville are my favorite tracks.
  • Indy? The Indianopolis Motor Speedway?
I haven't heard that false rumor yet
Anyways, yes, I agree with more short tracks...
    It's fun
  • Tire Question.?

    May be...

  • There is roughly 10-13 laps of rubber on there
  • I think they were runing super swamper
  • they get their worst tire wear at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, because of the track surface design. They already have the Pocono track figured out because of the track surface, and I don't think they will have that problem at all at Pocono. I don't know how thick the tread is on the tire. Pocono will be a fun race to watch. If your inspired by the technical aspect of NASCAR you'll love Pocono
  • Well even though they had tire issues Indy i dont think there will be any issues at Pocono. Exspecially if you look back at the last race there. And no i dont no the thickness.
  • Very thin compared to street tires.
  • why do you think pocono will have that kind of problem? we went there before and there wasn't anything.
  • Actually, there is no tread. The tires have a flat surface. It wasn't the thickness that was the issue. It was the compound formula used to make the tire. It came off in a powdery form, that has never been seen before. The tires outer layer of rubber is reportedly 1/8th of an inch.

They have already ran once at Pocono this year and tires were not an issue. The tires are different for Pocono. Also, the surface at Pocono does not chew up the tires like at Indy.
    Different Compounds for Different Tracks
NASCAR regulates which tire compounds are used on each track. The tire compound is the material the tire is made from -- a softer compound can provide more grip but wears faster, while a harder compound will last longer. Each track causes tires to wear differently, and the inside tires wear differently than the outside tires. Track surface, number of turns, tightness of turns and type of banking are all factors that determine how a tire will wear. Since tires are so critical for safety, NASCAR and Goodyear have determined the best compounds for the inside and outside tires for each track, and these are the tire compounds that the teams are required to use.

    Treadless Design
NASCAR tires look completely bald, but that's not because they are worn out. It is by design. On a dry track, tires can generate more traction if more of their sticky rubber is in contact with the ground. Putting a tread pattern on the tire helps in wet weather, but in dry weather it is better to have the whole tire touching the ground. That's why NASCAR races stop whenever the track is wet. http://entertainment.howstuffworks.com/n...
  • Im not 100% positive but looking at the depth gauge and what they were marking on Sunday I will guess 1.00 inch. I noticed the depth measurements across a normal wear tire were in the ranges from .40 to .65 that ESPN was showing. So my answer is one inch. It may be different for other tracks but I doubt it because it would change a car settup dramatically. Fluffy????

I think this info can be found on Jayski.com but I don't feel like looking. Let me know if Im close.

Here I found it quick but they don't include tread depth(or lack of tread).
    Tire: Goodyear Eagle Speedway Radials

    Number of Tires: Left-side -- 1,575; Right-side -- 1,575

    Tire Codes: Left-side -- D-4170; Right-side -- D-4172

    Tire Circumference: Left-side -- 87.3 in.; Right-side -- 88.6 in.

    Technical Inspection Inflation:
    Left Front -- 26 psi; Left Rear -- 26 psi;
Right Front -- 36 psi; Right Rear -- 36 psi

    Minimum Recommended Inflation:
    Left Front -- 16 psi; Left Rear -- 16 psi;
Right Front -- 37 psi; Right Rear -- 33 psi

Estimated Pit Window: Every 32-34 laps, based on fuel mileage.
  • With all the tire wear issues at Indy last week and probably more at Pocono this week, I'm just curious how thick the "tread" surface is on the Sprint Cup tires. Anybody know?
  • Condition of track and difference in surface at Indy didn't seem to be as thoroughly considered as it might have been. Pocono entirely different set of parameters on tire wear experience. One cannot always predict what is going to influence the outcome of a race before the checkered flag is dropped.
  • different for every track
    compound wise
  • Are NASCAR tires date coded/stored for years until they become a safety issue?

    May be...

  • Lol that would be a good excuse for what happened last weekend.
  • tires do get old and dry rotted but im sure nascar and goodyear make sure they get fresh tires were i traced they did sell old goodyears and new goodyears and it does make a diffrence when you run with fresh tires there is a way to tell when you purchase them but you have to scratch them with your finger nails and look for the colors in the scratch and compair to other tires also all tires are diffrent sizes so when you pick tires out you want 2 bigger tires for the right side and two smaller for the left the biggest of the tires you would put on the right front it helps the cra to turn better on shorter tracks
  • Recently came out that tires sold to the private sector are stored beyond safety limits and are dropping tread and blowing out on highways. Is NASCAR getting expired tires?
  • NASCAR has fresh tires.. anytime they need em.. but last weeks Fiasco really put a stick in the mud for goodyear...too much $$$ on Made In the USA... just like TOYOTA... which is wonderful...
  • Well, considering that the Indy race got last year's tires, I'd say that Goodyear probably stores the compound, tread, and other information for each type of tire they run in NASCAR. As far as the physical tires, I think most of them are cut up and sold in souvenirs. I just hope they kept enough data from this year to say "NEVER AGAIN" for that compound at Indy.
  • NASCAR gets fresher tires than anybody else. Buy your tires from a reputable tire dealer and you won't have to worry. Your information source is hanging out in the creep zone to even uncover that situation. The dealer may be illegal. (excuse my legal technical terminology)
  • Goodyear uses the FIFO system so I doubt it. Plus they produce a certain number for each race. They just don't store them. Compounds change a lot.

    FIFO= first in first out
  • i love when i get a blow on the highway
  • 29.7.08

    Can SOMEONE PLEASE....???

    May be...

  • Jr is the best!!
  • I wont tell him but i do agree on both those things
  • JR SUCKS
  • Can't we all just get along!
  • IN all honesty, Jr will be lucky to finish with 25 wins in his career. He hasnt pumped out more than 1 a year since his 2004 dream season and I dont see him suddenly getting good at age 40. His prime has done came and left
  • Gordon is the best!!
  • Yes Jr is overrated and yes Jeff Gordon has a legacy. And yes they are both past their prime and so no Jr will never come near anything Gordon has accomplished, not even a championship
  • I totally agree with you Emporer! Jeff Gordon is a Legend by
his awesome racing ability and Dale Jr. is who he is by who
his Dad is. Dale Jr. is a so so driver and will never compare
    to Jeff Gordon!
  • Why is my display name up there? Oh, right. Don't criticize a fan for who he roots for.
  • Somebody tell the Emperor that I am not saying that Jr is or was as good as Gordon or anything like that, I am simply saying that Jr has been driving the same equipment as Gordon now for 20 races and so far, Jr has done better. That is NOT an opinion, it is fact. As far as what Junior would have done in his career if he had the same equipmet as #24 then I guess that would be pure speculation. All you have to do is look at this years stats to get the answer................I know Jr will never have as many championships as Gordon, I never said that...................

To say Jr will never win a chamionship might be pushing it. He is currently 2nd in the points and that did not happen by accident. If any of you knows anything about racing, you know a lot of luck is involved, both good and bad............anything can happen down the stretch.

If you have a kid you can call him son but I am not yours. I speak on facts and don't talk out of my backside like you do......I forgot more about NASCAR than obviously you ever knew about. This years facts are exactly what they are and you can move them around to suit your simple little mind any way that you want.

HiHey07...............That could be the most idiotic mess that I have heard spew out of somebody's mouth ever............The 88 car? Not the driver..........Your ears are definitely bigger than your brain!!!

One last comment, not all #24 fans are dummy's..............quite the opposite, most that I talk to are well educated in the sport.............Just not this one...................Peace!!
  • Gordon is older than Jr. Junior will come into his own. Gordon is a great driver and he works for a great team though. It's too bad he is a jerk.
  • gordon = 4 championships
    dale jr=0 championships
    gordon=81 wins
    jr=18 wins
junior is overrated, but not bad.
  • Dale Earnhardt, Jr is overrated. He has more than 60% the # of starts that Jeff Gordon has, yet only about 25% of the wins he has. Jeff Gordon is BY FAR a better driver than Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Jeff Gordon is arguably one of the 10 best racers of all time, Dale Jr won't even make the top 50 NASCAR drivers... unless the fans demand it, and that's something NASCAR will likely listen to.

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is not 2nd in points, the 88 car is. The driver of which would be around 15th in points if not for the car... CASEY MEARS'S CAR I should say... notice how the 25 became the 88 and Mears moved to the 5... that's because the 5 sucks. Rick just wanted to make sure the more popular one lived up to the hype. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. will NEVER be a legend, and Kyle Busch will ALWAYS be more the intimidator than Jr will ever be.
  • I hat to say it but in all seriousness Jr. will probably never accomplish what Gordon has.
  • remember, dale junior has been in the cup series for seven years less than gordon has been. So he has more of a history than dale junior has. So legacies, overall, can't even be mentioned about a driver until after he has already retired.
  • wow your truley are a PAIN IN THE A$$ ........... dale jr. is young has he has not yet begun to be in his prime...... you dont hit that untill 50 ....... next time get your facts straight......
  • .... tell LENNY D...that Junior is OVERATED and that JEFF GORDON has a LEGACY which is BECAUSE of the PAST and that DALE JR will never have one...this is why the past matters...WHAT YOU DO IN THE PAST, WILL ECHO ON FOR ETERNITY....but NOT JUNIOR!!

Sure HE HAS MORE WINS THIS YEAR, BUT HE WILL NEVER OVER-SHADOW WHAT GORDON HAS DONE...GORDON IS STILL THE BETTER DRIVER...YOU DON'T WANNA DO STATS sON!!!

    JEFF GORDON= LEGEND!!!!!!!!!
  • Why don't you kids go settle this on the playground and quit messing up the NASCAR forum with your personal beefs with each other?
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • I'm just amazed at the people saying Gordon's just about done, and Jr. stil has all these years left ahead of him.
They're only 3 years apart in age ya know?

As for what to tell Lenny, I'm sure he's a big boy and can make up his own mind as to who he wants to be a fan of.
Don't let him get to ya, Lenny.
  • ok then
  • Jr. rules
  • I agree that Jeff has a legacy. I also think it is a little early to say what Jr will or won't do. He has years of racing ahead of him.
  • um actually the saying is "Don't Live In The Past" dumbass.

And don't say Junior will never have a legacy you don't know that. Gordon will retire within the next few years. But jr. will still be driving and he's got a long time to come for that first championship.
  • Why so MEAN today???

Gordon is a great driver and has the stats to back it up ..sure..but give JR a break..he is now in good equipment with Gordon and Johnson as TEAM-MATES!...He is still young and NOT his father; for heavens sake..get over it and move on, life too short to re-hash this every day and insulting other members is not the way!

Seems to me like someone may need some anger management!
  • Is Dale Jr nice off the track?

    May be...

  • can SomEONE tell LENNY D...that Junior is OVERATED and that JEFF GORDON has a LEGACY which is BECAUSE of the PAST and that DALE JR will never have one...this is why the past matters...WHAT YOU DO IN THE PAST, WILL ECHO ON FOR ETERNITY....but NOT JUNIOR!!
  • Yes he is, very humble and down to earth..met him personally several times and his father also....he is very smart and loves the sport of Nascar and the support of his Fans...

Was recently at Whiskey River in Charlotte, NC and he was there, making rounds to all the patrons tables and talking with everyone!..Now what ya got to say about that..he is HUMAN after all!

If you go to his website you can read about all the charities and contributions made by him and made in honor of his father the late GREAT DALE SR!
  • no, he comes off as a kind generious man!.................... dale is a sweetheart, dale is the same on camera as off camera......

    true story.....

" this guy called dale back at DEI when dale still drove for them, he wanted to know if dale would sign his car, dale said sure bring it buy when you come to town , and if i am not there leave it and the first thing i will do when i get back is sign the car!"

heard this from my dad, but i am 100% sure this is a true story

" a family lost everything their house, , and the lady husband lost his job a week before then house fire, dale sent the family 100 thousand dollars to help her build a new house"

so you tell me if dale is a nice guy outside of racing........... anyone that says otherwise will answer to me...............!
  • yes he is very nice to people and he is one of my favorite driverts in nascar. he is not stuck up because he is cool to everyone and likes his fans
  • I never met the man. Met many drivers but he wasn't one. I do know that to get to talk to him or even get his autograph is a pretty rare. he hides from the public a lot. I can't even blame him. I would too.
  • I've never met him but I have heard some of the things "goodyear #1 fan" said, especially the part about treating girls poorly.
  • I don't know personally but i had a friend that was a huge fan and she said he was great. always signing autographs and would even stop to talk and answer questions. She wasn't the type to just tell lies and her and her husband went to alot of races so I believe her.
  • What you see on TV is what you get off TV. He is really a genuine guy.
  • I never really hear about it other than his charities, does he come off as stuck up or what?
  • Junior seems like a good ol' boy. I really don't think he is stuck up at all. He learned a lot about being a real person from his daddy. Senior didn't give him anything, he had to earn it. He even went to military school. Listen to Junior over the radio. He's really funny and is down to earth.
  • He is actually very down home and he is a very nice guy and he doesen't mind giving someone autographs and doing a lot of charity work. If you watched Shifting Gears you would find that he is a great person and that he is down to Earth!!!

    Go Dale Jr #88
  • Dale Jr brought me a tylenol for my headache after Kyle Busch hit me with a full can of beer.

    Make your own judgments.
  • I have personally met Jr and Sr many times through common sports activites. I can tell you that Jr. is a very nice person. Very patriotic and extremely family oriented. He does not like every one to know his family business, though. He is also quite a party thrower when not at the track!! He does not brag on himself, or rag a lot on others. He is just a good person and would be that way even if he were not a NASCAR personality. He does not go to Prelude to a Dream because he has other commitments concerning his own charities, however he does give a large amount of money to the "Junction". every year.
  • I have a distant friend who knows him personally and said that they always joke about how dumb his fans are to just buy his stuff all the time because they are just making him more money. And then this season he didn't go to the Prelude to the dream for charity because he wasnt getting paid for it. He is very selfish and is really hateful toward women. He thinks they should be treated like it is still 1900 and thats why he never has a girlfriend consistently. Its rare to see him sign autographs because he hates being in the spotlight so much. He is just as hollywood as the other Hendrick drivers just watch his commercials. That is why he laughs when all the fans by his merchandise. He curses over his radio more than anybody I know, and is always trash talking Tony Jr instead of listening to him. Maybe he would win more if he would just shut up and drive sometimes. And then of course he parties more than any driver I know off the track, some think thats cool but certainly wouldnt be the best role model in my opinion. Basically from what my friend said he is fake but loves the fact that he will be set for life when he retires in a few years because of mindless people who buy his stuff and think he is mr perfect.
  • He really is a nice guy I have friends that have met him. He is friendly and down to earth.
  • Never met him personally, but my friends went to his race shop and saw him... they said he was a jerk.
  • Is Kyle Busch nice off the track?

    May be...

  • He is very nice and involved in the community.
  • Yes he's very very very nice he has a foundation called the Kyle Busch Foundation so does Kurt Busch which is called Kurt Busch Foundation. They might be happy during the weekend but off the track they're very very nice both of them, hon
  • KB nice? He is very inmature.
  • He really is. I met him twice and he answered all my questions we were allowed to ask and was one of the nicest drivers. The other nice ones are Jimmy Spencer, Kurt Busch, and Elliott Sadler.
  • he is not the nicest driver out there. he is really cocky and stuck up to people and he sucks and he should not be racing in nascar because on time i was at a nascar race and he would never sign peoples hats. thats mean i would sign peoples hats is i were him and i would be alot nicer to my fans and would be very nice to everyone
  • Please only respond if you really know or have met him. I heard he was one of hte nicest drivers out there

    http://racejournalonline.com/index.cfm?P...
  • I have met about 25 drivers and kyle Busch was really the nicest. He has gotta be the funniest guy Ive ever met. He talked to me for a good 15 minutes and signed autographs for everybody around and this was all at a charity race. I think Kyle Busch races more charity races than anybody because he likes racing so much and helping out children in need. If you meet him you will be really surprised but the truth is the Jr fans still hold hate for him at RIchmond but if they would get over that they could truly see that he is one of the nicest guys off the track and easy to talk to
  • Kyle Busch hit me with a beer can. A full one. And it hurt. Make your own judgments.
  • Have met Kyle and his brother Kurt....both are very nice and love to joke and kid around but when it comes to Nascar and winning, Kyle will tell you he is the better driver than his brother in a kind way and actually funny about it and Kurt just smiles and goes along with it..now that is brotherly love....
He has his charities and makes contributions to many...like him or not, he is HUMAN too!
  • Can someone explain to me why they like NASCAR?

    May be...

  • Wow Just joined yesterday and you already have 103 pts. Did you get them by answering a lot of anythings then throw in a stupid question. Get off the NASCAR page. Nascar isn't for 12 yr olds.
  • ive recently gotten into nascar and i find its such a strategy game more than people think it is..people who cannot get into it just assume its a bunch of grown men driving in a circle, but its alott more than just that

the precision it takes by the drivers to make sure they take everyturn cleanly at 180+ MPH, and not just once but over hundreds of miles..if a driver has to take maybe 600 turns in a race and botches up 1, then they could easily lose that race on that one turn..

also the strategy by the teams on when to pit so that the tires/fuel are used the most efficiently so that the team doesnt lose any positions, the speed of the pit crew to change four tires and fill a fuel tank in about 14 seconds---it takes most mechanics about a couple hours to do that

i mean it may not seem like the most interesting sport on the surface but the intricasies of it are what make it enjoyable
  • You guys do realize that you get 100 points JUST for signing up, right?

Anyway, TheSandMan aka swingman258's answer sums it up very well. I would have said the same.
  • Hate and open-minded in the same sentence?
  • just watch this video. it states most of the reasons why i love NASCAR

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FI9Tqs_qR...
  • I'm glad you don't like it. There are too many people at the races as it is now. You just get it or you don't. I used to dislike it too and now I'm hooked. Every major sport has it's haters. I personally don't get soccer.
  • we just do . what sport do you like so we can rag on it?
  • I used to hate NASCAR too...but, I finally sat down and watched a race and found them exciting. The most exciting races to watch are the night races: Bristol, Richmond, & Daytona. Some of the races are boring when there is not much action. The Brickyard 400 (Allstate 400) sucked this year. It was a waste of time & money. It also helps to pick a favorite driver and see how they compete.
  • Just keep on hating. Your mind is made up. Or are you trying to get insight on your Hubby/boyfriend?
  • haha well NASCAR is awesome! sounds like you don't know much about it so you probably don't like it.You have to like to go fast! i mean if you go to a race it is so much fun and the noise is the best! you have to give credit to these drivers i mean i race quarter midgets and i don't go as fast as the nascar drivers but you have no idea how hard it is to drive. the wheel is hard to control, you have to be patient, and the line is hard too. imagine going 180 mph into a wall haha its a dangerous sport that is fast and loud and it grabs peoples attention.
  • I like nascar because it is exciting whenthey get into the car accidents that is the only reason i watch that and i'm jelous that they get to go so f***ing fast that just aint fair.
  • If you are really trying to keep an open mind you shouldn't start by saying something like "I really hate the races I find them so boring" seems to me your mind is already closed.

    ^^^Hahaha.....trolling in shallow water...funny Tom P!!
  • why dont you tell us why you hate it
    it would be easier
    right
  • omg i know it is so boring i'd rather watch miley cyrus get a tatoo on her forehead than watch nascar it is so totally gay more people should watch the NCFB

    National Confederation For Ballet
  • I really like NASCAR. Its not just about driving around in circles. There is a lot of strategy to it: fuel mileage, tires, track position, teams working together, etc...
  • I really hate the races I find them so boring. Im trying to have an open mind about it though.
  • nascar is the greatest sport ever. i've been a Nascar fan for three years now, and haven't looke dback ever since. This is Nascar and Nascar is my sport.
  • Then why you here trying to make trouble??
Turn off the TV and go play with your MARBLES!

Us REAL FANS know Nascar and just leave us alone..no explanation is needed..we know the "truth"
  • LOVE NASCAR...love it...most exciting SPORT out there...

Defensive? Not really. We see this question everyday usually asked by someone not interested in NASCAR or the answers in the least but just wanting to get their point across by saying "I hate NASCAR...it's boring...going around in circles...yada yada yada...". You know...something like a 12 year old would say.
  • Tom P has it Statistics
  • Green Bean said it best.

My opinion is your statement/question is an oxymoron (look it up if you are unfamiliar with the word.)
  • Statistics my friend....

I like it because I grew up with it. I enjoy watching the speed, teamwork and planning it takes to win a race.

What's your deal???? are you REALLY interested, or just trolling in shallow water?
  • NASCAR Nation, Kyle Busch has 7 wins but do you think JJ (#48) has the advantage being back to back champ??

    May be...

  • I'm not a huge JJ fan, but if there was one thing I've come to know about him is; never count him out. That team tends to rally when it matters most.
  • I'm not a fan of either JJ or Busch. If I had to place a bet, I'd probably just flip a coin considering its a 10 race shootout. The guy with the most bad luck will probably be the one left out. I'm hoping someone else comes out of nowhere and wins the thing, but not likely.
  • i really think at this point in time, when it comes to the top 5, it's anybody's game. however, i think kyle and jimmie have the best chance of winning the championship. i guess we'll know for sure after homestead.
  • johnson is a chase expert and is probably the best driver when it comes to The Chase. Congrats to rowdy fans if kyle hangs on to win the season but get ready to complain and whine about how the Chase works after homestead when one of the hendrick chevies steals the championship from Mr. 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...
  • No...Johnson CHEATED his way to both championships! In my eyes all Johnson has is back to back to back to back cheating violations!

You can give me thumbs down, but THE TRUTH IS THE TRUTH!
  • After points reset and yes Kyle will have a slight advantage, but I am like you..believe that Johnson or Gordon can and will pull it off!
  • It's going to come down to those two...Jimmie and Kyle. My money is on Kyle. Jimmie sure will give him a run. As for an advantage...well he's been there but I don't know what the advatage is. There are other drivers out there that have also won championships back to back or no.
  • Jimmie is without a doubt one of Kyle's biggest threats.

It's going to get interesting, can't wait to see what happens.
  • I'd be almost willing to bet Jimmie will be 2nd in the points by the time Richmond is over. We've seen it before, when that team gets on a roll, they get on a serious roll. 4 of the last 6 races in the Chase last year, they dominated. It's a long way from being over, and any Shurb fan counting on a Cup already has another thing coming to them.

I'm not saying Jr will beat him, but as long as someone does is all that matters to me.
  • I firmly believe Kyle will be the 2008 champion. The biggest reason is because the more people that doubt him, the more he proves them wrong. Jimmie just won a messed up race Sunday, and none of the teams got into a rhythm with all the tire and pit drama. Obviously Jimmie would have most likely won anyway, though. Hendrick has always been good there, so it shouldn't have been a surprise. Kyle has won 3 of the last 5, and I think he is fixing to crank it up for the chase starting next week at Pocono. One top 15 finish isn't bad at all, it only showed that he was human.
  • Winning in the regular season is one think but when it comes to crunch time my money is on the one that's "been there, done that!!"
  • I wouldn't say that Jimmie has the edge going into the championship but he is certainly not phased by the fact that he is not leading now. The 48 team obviously knows how to raise the level of their game when it counts and JJ does good at the chase tracks. JGR teams have also been in that situation before and coach will have them motivated as well. It will be a good battle between 4 or 5 teams this year, in my opinion.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • The problem Jimmie Johnson is going to run into his his deficit when the Chase starts in Spetember.

Right now since kyle has 7 wins and Jimmie has only two they would start the chase with 5070 points and 5020 points respectively.

If Jimmie can win another time or even tow that woulg greatly increase his chances of securing a third title. Something that has not been done in a very long time.

Jimmie may ahve the edge if his team has been holding back for the 10 chase races. He had a great record through the chase last season and may have enough momentum now to actually win a third in a row.
  • Jimmy Johnson has a better chance than DALE JR!!! not KYLE...see unlike Dale, Kyle Busch is great driver with or without his TOYOTA. Which bring me to this point....your driver is not as GOOD as MINE!!

    http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/cup/head...

    Nope YOU DIDN't.....but " I DONT GIVE A DAMN"

past ACCOMPLISHMENTS???...you mean his LEGACY...somthing DALE JR WILL NEVER HAVE!!!! and the "legacy" he somewhat has is cause of his name. JEFF GORDON MADE HIS OWN NAME

Lenny D STATS= EPIC FAIL...you sorted them out by wins, and GORDON Is still sitting in 6th...tell me how did junior do last year with NOO WINS??

oMG thumbs down= IM SOOOOO SCARED
  • Can anyone explain to me in this forum of Nascar???

    May be...

  • What they said..
  • your % best answer is calculated by taking the number of "best answers" you have received and dividing that number by the total number of questions you have answered. in your case, you have answered 529 questions, and 37 of those have been chosen as best answer.

    37 / 529 = 0.0699... or 6.99...%

the little "floating window" you see when hovering over an avatar shows this number "rounded up" to 7%. on your home page, however, it seems as if the programming truncates this number rather than rounding up, so it shows up as 6%.

and it can change easily within a day. go onto "polls and surveys" and answer a hundred questions and most likely you will not get many best answers - not your fault, just too many people answering too many questions. if you did that tonight, by tomorrow you'd have:

    37 / 629 = 0.0588 or 5.88%.

happens to me nearly every time i get caught up answering questions there for no good reason except to avoid doing anything productive.
    ;-)
  • Thanks for asking..I was going to ask the same...
  • How one day you have a certain % and then the next day a lower %....Is it the questions asked or best answer how they determine the %'s..am confused..thanks
  • Yes it's a legal question.

Let me try to take a stab at this...!!! The percent is your best answers as opposed to the number of answers you answered..

    You have
    Total answers 529
    Best answers 37

To get the percentage you would divide your "Best Answers" by the number of "Total Answers" so:

    37 divided by 529 = 0.069 or 6.9 %
...To change the decimal to a percent you simply move the decimal point in the answer to the right 2 spaces to get the 6.9%

Since your percent is 6.9 then it gets rounded off to 7% on a page where you answer a question at because Yahoo just rounds your percentage up or down (which ever is nearest).

On your profile page Yahoo does NOT round off your percentage so it may show 1% less (I think) until you actually get to the next percentage.

    Hope this helps.
  • Tony stewart fined and buys his forgiveness?

    May be...

  • Tony has so much money they could have fined him one millioin dollars it wouldn't have mattered. It was decent of him to apologize and buy headsets and uniforms, but again, he has so much money...... I think he needs a refresher course in that anger management class he had to take a few years ago.
  • He was fined and put on probation.
I think he apology was sincere and his offer to buy them new uniforms and radios was just a kindness.
Tony has a good heart sometimes it gets the better of him.
He went a little over board on this one especially touching and shoving a official, but the fine was appropiate. Maybe a little to much.
  • It was a pretty ugly situation he got himself into. No bribe.
But Tony's genuinely a good-hearted guy who just let his emotions get the better of him (or worse of him)

I think it was a fair enough fine, maybe a bit heavy, but I do believe the apology was sincere, and his "gesture" was a genuine attempt to show that.
It in no way changes my opinion of Tony, I still like him.
Tony's no stranger to the hauler. If he exhibits that kind of behavior next season as a car owner, he'll be frequenting it.
  • bribary will get ya everywere lol
  • Smoke has calmed down a lot since his early days..but he is a man with his own mind and does not back off!
Yes his behavior was in the heat of the moment and and he apologized and wanted to make amends and not a "bribe"..as soon as he realized his mistake and temper had the best of him, he went to the proper channels and was MAN UP about the entire situation..applaud him for that, look on the good side and not the bad..all drivers at one time or another have spouted off and regressed against someone and took their consequences gracefully as Smoke did...and in my opinion has nothing to do with whether or not he will be a good owner or not, do your job and and stay focused..nothing to worry about!
  • it just shows you how much they respect him and his presense, if he was a guy like davud reutiman and did that they wouldnt even be treating him like royalty, that story is funny, tony can basically do what he wants when he wants to and get away all because he bought them new outfits
  • so the fines came down for tony's outburst last thursday during a midget race at orp, where he knocked the headset off one official and pushed another. robin miller called it on despain's show yesterday when he even said it was no big deal and was nowhere near as interesting as the danica-duno shouting match. why? because for anyone who's ever had to deal with a usac official this was not surprising, nor behavior that hasn't happened many times before. he also said he'd probably be fined $5,000 or so and it would be done with.

miller was close - stewart was fined $10,000 and his usac team was put on probation for the rest of the year. tony apologized and offered to buy usac officials new radios and uniforms to make up for his behavior.

what do you think of tony's behavior, especially given that he will be half-owner of a cup series team next year? what do you think of the penalty handed down? and finally, what do you think of his "gesture" to buy them new uniforms and radios?
  • its usual tony behavoir. He cant help it. Well he can by goin to anger managment. But i dont htin he's goin anytime soon. He better not try annd bribe NASCAR offic(ails or oils. idk how to spell.) The penalty is wat he asked for.
  • He'd already been fined 10 grand and put on probation. I don't get the "buying forgiveness" reference. Seems to me that he realized that he screwed up and was trying to make amends.
I also don't see what this has to do with him being a part owner in the NASCAR series next year. It's apples and oranges, isn't it?
You wouldn't happen to be dumping on Smoke because he's leaving St. Joe's, would ya? ; )

EDIT: I'm just messing with ya, Rowdy!
  • you like to type

no one serious likes to read that much to answer a question
  • Tony Stewart is a crybaby with a checkbook! Prediction.....worst team owner EVER!!!
  • Job Well Done!
  • Not a bribe at all. He is being fined...he pays the fine...he is put on probation and that is it.
It ends there. The buying them radios and uniforms only seals the apology. I think it is very big of him to do that. he could have just walked away with the fine and probation. He didn't HAVE to do anything else and the fine and probation don't go away just because he is buying radios and uniforms. And still he does it.

    Way to go Tony!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Generally are IRL's or Nascar's tickets more expensive?

    May be...

  • Nascar tickets are way more expensive than IRL's I have been to both and my cheapest excursion has been IRL. For Example Lets just say a nascar race at Atlanta Motor Speedway you are looking at ticket prices like this:
    Winners Grandstand- $95.00 To $135.00

    Champions Grandstand- $105.00 To $115.00

    Earnhardt Grandstand- $88.00 To $105.00

    Petty Grandstand- $95.00

    Elliot Grandstand- $39.00 To $75.00
Those are the prices for the Atlanta Race Coming This October

Ok, now lets say an IRL race at Kentucky Speedway which is their next race on August 9th, these are the prices:
    Rows 0-10: $40
    Rows 11-21: $50
    Rows 22-32: $60
    Tower Suite: $70
