Does anyone know which drivers are going to be in NYC for champions week 2008?

May be...

  • Sorry but you're outta luck on that one. No Jr @ NYC. He didn't finish in the top 10.
  • The top 10, plus those receiving other special awards.
  • Only the Top 10 get to go to the Championship Banquet in NYC, which are: Johnson, Edwards, Biffle, Harvick, Bowyer, Burton, J. Gordon, Hamlin, Stewart and Kyle Busch.
However, they have other rewards during the week such as Regan Smith winning Rookie of the Year, and I'm pretty sure that Dale will get the Most Popular Driver reward again, but he will not be on stage at the Banquet like the Top 10 will.
  • That's just not right in not letting Jr come to the banquet. Its atrocious. He is the bestest driver in the world and needs to be there. Im going to write mr fance and helton. Junior Nation, lets protest on nascar.
  • JR will be there but he wont be part of the award ceremony, but he will be there next year!!!!
  • I really want to see dale jr but i'm not sure if only the top 10 drivers will be there. Can anyone help please !!!h2210 rom
  • Since it's NASCAR's off-season,do people think it would be a good time for Dale Jr. to come out of the closet ?

    May be...

  • NO just drive a pink car at Daytona.
  • Grow up.
  • wow, sounds like your just an ignorant child. Don't be jealous that he makes more money in one day than you do in one paycheck.
  • no i do not
with a name like KK i would say you need to come out the closet
the only person i know named KK is a hot blonde coke whore that lives around here
    so now we know
  • Might be a good idea to come out just before the season starts, promotional considerations?

But there is a possibility that he won't either come out of the closet due to fans perhaps being bigoted against said closet, or he may not be in the closet, who's to really tell.
  • ..... and finally try on that spiffy tuxedo, yes.
  • you people are so immature. why can't you just deal with the fact that your never gonna get laid and grow up. if you haven't noticed jr. is not gay he's married. stop crying cause he's off the market get your foot out of your *** and shut up.
  • Who says he is in the closet? He is a very busy man that has a lot going on. He has had girlfriends and relationships. Just because he isn't in a relationship doesn't mean he is gay. Besides if he is in the closet and decides to come out, I would still be a fan. I have been a fan of his since he started out, not because of who he is.
  • It worked for that french guy in "Talledega Nights" and that one gay "Lucha Libre" fighter. Nascar has gone far too long without gay rednecks... Look for subarus with gun racks in the back the next time you go to a race.
  • When did you come out of the closet? What a stupid question
  • Oh I see. The multi-million dollar custom mansion he's building next to his old west town next to his professional go-kart track got you thinking that way-I refer to you as a jealous person.

Or is it because of his custom Camaro that was on the cover of Hot Rod magazine.
  • what time of the year did you come out?
  • Nah, I'll leave him the the closet with that pretty blonde girl he went in there with for a little while longer. They must be having fun.gardening-tools-for-kids
  • BREAKING NEWS: Felippe Massa is in hospital amputating his right leg.....?

    May be...

  • Huh? It's Mark Webber that's in hospital and his leg is NOT getting amputated. Webber's bike collided with a car during his annual Tasmanian Challenge.

Massa is perfectly OK and Webber should be making a full recovery. Let's pray that he gets well soon.

    @Mark Webber, get well soon!
  • You are a pathetic *** hole
  • Where did u get the idea that 1) it was Felipe and 2) that the right leg was going to be amputated?

Mark just had surgery and I did hear that this arm may have a fracture too, but I don't know if that's true or not.

He will remain in the hospital for 3 days.

    Get well soon Mark!
  • its MARK WEBBER
  • Oh no poor Mark Webber! I doubt he'll be in the Race of Champions then :-(
  • What a prat you are.
  • Julian just told me on FB its mark webber. hope he recovers soon, he's one of the good guys
  • Webber had a charity bike race collision.
    http://www.crash.net/motorsport/f1/news/...
Hope he is soon well enough to start testing again.
  • It happened yesterday night i think, he was in a car accident-a very serious one. No one has alkied about his career and is more focused on him getting better................you never no, alonso might be joining the farrari!!- he's wihs may come true!

Oh wait, oh...............it was Mark Webber-his foot is not getting amutated but having sugery!!! Well in that case, get well soon!

  • Would you be happy or upset if...?

    May be...

  • It doesn't bother me a bit.If you've still got it,go for it.Look at how well Brett Favre has been doing with the Jets this year. They have a legitimate shot at the playoffs and the Super Bowl.Mark Martin has done well in his part-time endeavors and I am sure that he will do great next year.I feel that if you have the passion and the opportunity to still participate in your sport of choice, then you should go for it.
  • I wouldn't be upset. I'm glad Mark Martin is back full time. I think he still has something left to offer the sport and its fans. I feel the same way about Brett Favre. Remember when Kenny Wallace started that rumor that Rusty was going to come out of retirement? A lot of people were really excited. So I think it depends on if the individual in question still can contribute to his or her team.
  • Happy. They are human and maybe they think they are ready and when the time comes and they realize maybe they aren't ready to release those emotions of what they had or maybe they feel like there is still more that they can contribute.Pure and Simple yes i would be Happy because it makes them happy.
  • To those people who get upset about someone coming out of retirement I say "So you've never changed your mind?" They need to try and put themselves in other peoples' shoes. They should try retiring from something they love. I have and it sucks.
  • ...if a driver were to retire and then come back? Or any sports figure for that matter? This was exactly what happened in the NFL when Brett Favre retired, only to come back and play for the Jets. In NASCAR, Mark Martin was supposed to retire in 2005, only to stay in '06, then run part-time in '07 and '08, and now he is returning to full-time racing in 2009. It doesn't bother me, but it seems like many people have been upset about someone saying they would retire and then break their commitment to come back. So, what do you think? If someone were to retire and then come back, would you be happy to see the person come back or upset that they would say they would retire and then return to the sport?
  • I'd rejoice, especially if he was still in his prime.
  • I don't like it, their making their decisions too fast, they give us time to move on and decide to stay and mess everyone's plans up. The plans of the fas looking for a new driver and the new driver looking to take over for him.
  • It depends on if they're past their prime or not.
It's better to go out on top or semi-on top than to hang onto a dream that has expired.
If they've still got it, they may as well use it.
But they really should make 110% sure that they want to retire, before announcing it.
  • HAPPY! We traded Ray Bourque BEFORE retirement to give him a chance at the Stanley and all of Boston cried when Colorado didn't win the cup that year and then we all rejoiced when they won the next.

If our heroes actually could make their dreams come true, we'd all be happy.
  • One of the great things about the country that we live in is the fact that people have a free choice of how they want to make a living. I feel if you are still capable of being competitive in your chosen sport then you should be able to compete for as long as you wish. On the other hand, if I were an owner, like Jack Roushe, and my driver retired only to come back to compete against me, I may feel differently. The bottom line is, however, Mark Martin is free to do as he chooses. So, no I do not have a problem with it.
  • I don't really like it, I happen to be a Green Bay fan and that whole situation just divided fans of the team and Brett, I don't hate Brett at all, but the way it worked out just sucked.
  • For me it depends on who we are talking about.

Mark Martin bring it on! He never walked away completely.

Brett Favre I feel he betrayed Green Bay and all his adoring fans. Lambeau Field lost the best quarterback ever known. How do the fans cope with him going to the Jets? That is a hard pill to swallow. He should have stayed retired and if he had any doubts should have stayed with the Packers.
  • Mark Martin annoys me. I thought he would retire after 05. Then a full year with AAA sponsor, then a part time job in 07 and last year. Now a full time job at Hendricks? Make up your mind Mark, you still have talent.
  • I dont like it when guys do that. He is just going to end up tarnishing his legacy like a bunch of drivers have done.(Bill Elliott, Terry Labonte, Kyle Petty, DW, Ricky Rudd)removing ballpoint ink stains
  • Who hopes that Kyle Busch will have another Bad Year again?

    May be...

  • Do you know how many drivers would kill for the kind of bad year Kyle had?

  • Define bad year. With 21 wins (8 in the cup) compared to one for JR.
Ya, ill take another bad year under this scope.
  • yeah it was so bad that...... jr's at the house watching kyle walk across the stage in new york celebrating his 21 wins....
  • naah
how do you figure this year was bad
  • 2008 was not a "bad year" for kyle busch.....he had 21 wins and i bet all drivers want to get that much wins i think 2009 he wants 2 win more!! i think 2009 for kyle will be year of Redemptionin the chase=)
  • Well'I personally don't think he had a bad year this year.He only won 21 races!!
But,no,I don't want him to have a bad season next year.
  • He had a bad time during the chase but his year was phenomenal. So yeah, bring on the "bad year."
  • Not me, I like him. I don't want to see him win everything again because that got boring but better him than some of the others out there.
  • Kyle didn't have a bad year, actually he had a great year up into the chase!
I hope Kyle has a great year!!
  • As a Dale jr fan I sure hope so. Im practicing my beer chunkin this off season.
  • "Another" bad year? Are you implying this past year was "bad"? I'm sure there are at least 30+ drivers who would have given anything for a year as "bad" as Kyle had!
  • "Bad Year"? What are you talking about?
  • The only person I actually wish a bad season on is Montoya. I really hope Kyle has a great season!
  • Kurt had a rough year... Kyle just had a rough Chase. Get your Busches straight. Oh wait, you can't, because you're gay for Gordon.
  • Nope not me. Looking for him to have another Banner year and then raising that trophy in november.

  • I hope he continues to make Dale Jr look bad like he did this year.
  • No, but I hope you have a bad year by having to watch Kyle Busch and Jeff Gordon finish 1-2 in the points, in no particular order
  • If 2008 was a "bad year", I cant imagine your definition of a good one. But yes, I hope 2009 is a bad year for him.free kidde porn

Are you like your favorite driver?

    May be...

  • i think carl and i are alike in most ways. i have a goofy side, i'm friendly, and i'm not a door mat, i don't take crap from anyone. just like him

then again, i don't try and beat people up for something totally stupid. oh well, guess there has to be some differences too.
  • My favorite driver is Kasey Kahne and I don't really know enough about him to say that. It's a really good question though....I'm gunna have to reasearch and think about that. Lol
  • my favorite driver isn't on the circuit yet, his name is Tom G and yes, we are very alike cause we are both awesome :)
  • Like Tony Stewart.

I have no patience for stupid people, I dont mind speaking my mind, Im dedicated to what I love doing, and I like to eat.
  • Sure, I bet the only thing that standout is how much Denny knows about baseball. Without that, I guess we're brothers.
  • 24 fan all the way YEEE HAAA
  • no I'm a 99 fan and I never get to pick on Ryan Newman
  • Yep, im a overated jerk just like he is.
  • My fav driver is Jimmie Johnson. We are alike as far as competitive ways. Personality, not so much. I am much more of an outgoing person.
  • Hmmm, maybe a little bit.
I do care for my family an awful lot like Junior does. I am soft spoken like he is. I do not stutter though. He is into the video 's and such ME not so much.

    I would say 50 50
  • To tell you the truth, probably not. I did some quiz on the Pepsi Racing site to see if I'm just like Jeff and I got most of them wrong lol. I was a little surprised about that. However, we can relate to always staying positive. That's one thing I like about Jeff, especially after what he went thru in 2008.
  • hmmm, outspoken, quick tempered, kind, slightly sarcastic and witty...yep, very much like my favorite driver...
  • Good observation Tom. I think I am a lot like Junior in many ways.

My public speaking needs a LOT of work, I am hardworking, loyal and honest. I don't think I am better than anyone else, I am down to earth and pretty laid back except for my need for speed! I love going to the track. I have a group of friends I love dearly whom I trust completely and boy can we make each other laugh till it hurts. Oh, & I do sure do love a good party ;)
  • Yep, my man is Kenseth. I'm laid back. I avoid the spotlight when possible. I avoid controversy when possible but stand up for myself when it finds me.
  • Early on he was nowhere near me in personality wise. But the last year and a half I say yes we are. He has been toned down on his on track incidences and have gave alot to his charity and had that Kurt Busch superdome built at VJG camp. He also complimented Jimmie Johnson runs for a three peat. He knew he was witnessing greatness and said it in his interviews.
  • yes you are. thats neat that I also see him in you. .

Am I like Kyle?? Oh I can be a real smarta$$ but choose to hold a lot of it in. Not so much him sometimes. lol also he has a devil may care attitude and one that I think I have to a certain extent.
But after he was having so much trouble in the chase and was getting down on himself...well I was just as down for him.
so yeah I think I do have some of the same personailty traits that Kyle has.

Tony....he's a brooder and yes so am I. sometimes. and a pouter. lol

Elliot...maybe not so much except that he is just a darn good person. and I try to be. I don't know as I would always have the kind of positive outlook as he does in times of trouble.

    GREAT QUESTION!!!!
  • From what I've read/seen I'd say we have some common personality traits: usually quiet, laid back, blunt, sometimes short fuse, tendency to speak before thinking. Gotta love it!
  • Yes I am just like Jeff Gordon ,I didn't win a race this year either !
  • Exactly like Robby Gordon.

-I like to be independent (own my own business and work for it or family--dad like I do now)

-I take no crap from people and am just out in life doing what I enjoy (like Robby does with racing)

-I love variety. Robby likes variety in his different styles of racing (off road, nascar, etc.) I like variety in my life.

-Attitude. I got one too but I can drop it if need be (as he can) and am very excepting of other legitimate people.

-Just having fun. I like to just have fun, as Robby does and I love to drive.
  • that tells me to stay away from you before you put me in the wall or wreck and take me with you
  • Personality wise?

I think we all subconsciously pick a driver that is just like us beause me and Elliott Sadler have very similar personalities.
  • Absolutely. However,it is not the personality that you see on tv.Jimmie has a very crazy, playful type of personality off the track. He let a little of that shine through on NASCAR Victory Lane last Sunday.Did anyone see that? For those who didn't,Jimmy Spencer was asking Jimmie about keeping up the good work and he accidentally said,"how do you get it up" and Jimmie started laughing and said,"did you just ask me how I get it up?"LOL
  • Truex Jr and Menard

Me: Quiet and out of the way. I'd say Yes
  • Kind of, we both don't care what anyone else thinks.
  • I like Dale Jr. & Jeff Gordon I think I could get along with them. Dale Jr. is very friendly what you see is what you get with him I'm like that too.
  • Im exactly like junebug. Autograph and everythang.
  • Nope. Elliott Sadler is almost the exact opposite of me. I wish I were more like him <LOL>, but the only things we have in common are our Virginia roots and dark looks.

I'm probably more like my other favorite, Mark Martin. I ain't flashy, but I get the job done <LOL.>
  • I would like to think we are. Casey seems to be a very fair and understanding person and I would like to think that I am the same.
  • Hmm..me? Like Rowdy?

    No nonsense personality? x
    Sarcastic? x
Not as bad as people think? x
    Flamboyant? x
    At times obnoxious? x
23 years old? o (in my dreams)
Competitive as all get out? x
Hates to admit wrong doing? x
    Moody? o

And I do tend to cause controversy. I don't mean to, it just.....happens.
Yeah, I'd say we're pretty similar personality wise.
  • nope i'm just like his daddy which was my favorite
    a hardheaded @sshole
  • well I do not talk as fast as Matt but I am sure that I have that laid back approach at times, other times, yea like when he gets revenge those few times, that would be me too....good question!oddworld adventure
  • What do you like best about Elliott Sadler?

    May be...

  • I like Elliot's attitude ,he is just a laid back cool dude. As far as his season ,let me just say that I wish he was in a Chevy !
  • I like his overall attitude as driver and he has a heart of a great person. They dont make too many of these kinda guys in the garage. I think Elliott will have a much better year that this year. GEM will hopefully get their kinks out and puts out some decent equipment for Elliott, Kasey and Reed.
  • I like his personality best.He is such a great guy and one of those that you would like to see do well.

Did anyone see Hermie Sadler get his butt kicked on TNA wrestling last night? My dad watches that crap and I was snoozing in the chair and all I heard them say Hermie's name.Apparently,he is doing some kind of show with them or something lol.Anyway,he got clobbered(fakely,of course).
  • He keeps his head up. He may have a bad race, but he doesn't let that affect him next race. i think he will do well next year. i can see him winning a race or two.
  • He's funny, nice, and I love that Virginia accent of his! Besides, he always has a positive attitude, no matter what happens. I'd like to see him have a good and successful year.
  • I like them there britches he is wearing.
  • hmmm... what do i like about elliott sadler....... let's see....hmmmm
let me go do some research on him, i'll get back to ya.

nope, sorry, not comin' up with anything
  • His foundation is for Autism awareness.
He is funny, I have to say.

    And yummy. He's definately yummy.

  • His name. It's neat.
  • his car looks nice.................before the race starts.
  • He seems like a very nice guy.
  • What don't I like? Lol I like best that no matter how crappy a race goes and no matter how bad he or is team screwed up, he always thanks him and is optimistic about the next week. Every week he says he is looking for the win, I like that.
  • How do you think he will do next season with the changes?
  • Let me count the ways:

    1) He's funny as heck.
    2) He's laid-back and has a good attitude, no matter what happens during the race.
    3) He's a better driver than most people think. He just has the worst luck.
    4) His accent.
    5) His broad shoulders <LOL.>
    6) His looks in general. The boy is HOT. Though I wish he'd grow his hair back out and bring back the goatee. He's better scruffier.

I'm hoping he'll improve next season. He's had a full season with the COT now. Maybe he needs is to borrow Jimmie Johnson's horseshoe.
  • He is a super sweet nice guy, he really takes the time to get to know his fans and well he is hot!!!!!!
  • Sadler is a solid driver week in week out. Just has some bad luck.
He will run hot sooner or later.
  • I like that he is a very down to earth guy. He could be the guy next door. He is also a very good and optimistic driver.
  • he IS a great driver. One with some bad luck though. And his attitude is mostly so upbeat even after a wreck or a flat...and ya gotta know it frustrates him to no end but he is always looking to the next race.
  • He rarely finishes ahead of the 17.bullitens
  • Who is the sexiest nascar driver?

    May be...

  • i dont know a lot so:
    Jeff Gordon
    and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
  • Juan Pablo Montoya, he is one hot latino..yum

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  • Who is the sexiest nascar driver? How about Truex and Montoya...
what do ya find sexy about them... Truex: his attitude. Montoya: he's got a sexy smile

    *SILQ*
  • what do ya find sexy about them
  • Chrissey Wallace, she has it goin on!
  • I have to say Tom P. if he was a driver or not.
  • <-------- carl edwards. everything about his appearance is just perfect. he's like a ken doll :)
  • Tony(Smoke)Stewart,He is the hottest man in Nascar.
  • if you ask green bean he would say anyone underage
  • For me none.
Last one I thought was sexy was "Tina Gordon" in the Busch (Nationwide ) series.
  • Easily for me it is Jimmie Johnson.

    Nice guy, cute smile.
  • David Ragan, he is around my age and very nice guy, cute smile.
  • luv me some 'smoke' ... LOL
  • Kasey Kahne his eyes are intense.
Dale jr. Just all around delicious
  • I would be if I were a driver.

I mean come on, just look at my avatar.
  • I think Kasey Kahne is extremely sexy. I could get lost in those beautiful eyes!
  • Maggie and Donna have called that one right. Elliott just has the southern charm and dark hair and eyes i prefer and Tony well he is just smoldering. But he has got to keep the stubble. not a lot but not clean shaven either.
  • Tony Stewart and Elliot Sadler. mmmmmmmm mmmmmm mmmmmmm
  • I'm a guy... but.. why wouldn't I go with my driver..
    Jeff Gordon..
His hair his hot... I wish my hair had that flare that his has..
(My hair is close to it.. I wonder what shampoo he uses?)
  • If I could ever get into NASCAR, I'll probably like Tom.
  • Maggie took my answers.

Tony Stewart by far is the sexiest. Mix his temper w/ his serious eyes & that smile & laugh are phenomenal.

And I like Elliott - he has the whole Southern Gentlemen thing going for him.
  • Carl Edwards. I love his hair, he's easy on the eyes, and he's just overall hot.
  • The women I know seem split on Carl Edwards and Kasey Kahne. As there are no women in the Cup right now I can't say for myself.
  • I am going to say Dale Junior.

Tont Stewart has a sexy smile too
  • Elliot Sadler and his beard.
  • Casey Mears and AJ Allmendinger. They are just HOT HOT HOT!
  • I don't know. Since i'm a dude, I guess I would have to be looking at them from behind. I just don't see it. Unless competitiveness is sexy.
  • Denny Hamlin! He's just hot!
  • Reed Sorenson.........EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!07 nhl roster update

I answer a lot of Nascar questions What do you think of my answers?

    May be...

  • 4real... you just burried yourself with those additional comments
  • well I have taken notice on your answers. Tony is my #2 driver 2nd only to his now former teammate Kyle Bush. Kyle for his driving abilities and devil may care attitude and Tony for his...well his driving ability too. :0) Seriously...he is a champ driver.

Now you can dislike any driver that you want but saying "hate" is like bashing and it's kind of frowned on. Well by some it is. Others don't seem to mind doing it.

    So welcome to NASCAR Nation.
  • Sorry, not a race fan. I haven't seeen them, nor do I want to.
  • The best way to get your answers noticed positively is to be creative and try not to bash too hard.
  • Never looked at them and why should i.
  • I don't know I have noticed your answers so can't say.

I totally disagree with you about Jimmie though.
  • I don't no about your answers to other peoples questions but i like that answer. You can't stand Jimmie. Thank you lord there is some body else that doesn't like him.
  • I've never noticed your answers. We all have our own opinions, that's why we all are here. I'm not a big fan of Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon, no matter what, obviously they are talented drivers. I am a fan of Tony Stewart, and a fan of Kyle Busch's driving ability-not him.
  • Terrible answers, poor quality, could use better grammar. Need an attitude adjustment, can stand to improve on niceness. Needs to use bigger words. Should find a new favorite driver. Good choice on the driver you can not stand.
  • If you have seen my answers do you agree with me or not ,by the way I love Tony Stewart,I can't stand Jimmie Johnson.
  • As long as you love Tony Stewart & agree that he is the hottest man in NASCAR, you're okay in my book.
  • The only reason I notice your answers is because you bash Jimmie Johnson every chance you get. Just like in your question here. Nope, I don't agree.
  • I like your answers. I love Tony too but not as much as Dale Jr. Jimmie stole alot of Dales jr cars and won in them.st maarten real estate companies
  • How do you think Gibbs racing will do next year?

    May be...

  • They should have a good year. I think Kyle has run his course. He was good in the first half of 2008 because teams were still trying to tune the COT. Once the teams got the handle on their cars Kyle quit dominating. He drives like an idiot which with the new car helps because they are easier to control in a spinout situation. Once the other cars got better he was not dominate because everyone else was handling better.
Denny will put a great year together and possibly challenge for the cup. He has more talent than Kyle, but horrible luck. I look for great things from him.
Joey is going to struggle and most likely not even compete for Rookie of the year. He has talent, but is being pushed too soon. I hope it doesn't ruin him like id did Casey Atwood.
  • they will still be one of the top 4 organizations in nascar. kyle will have another good year, and i expect denny to improve on this years showing if he has any luck. as far as sliced bread, i think he will show some bright spots. overall they will be fine.
  • I think they will be one of the teams with a chance to take the championship from HMS next year. I say that Denny is the best driver on the team but it seems like he always has a bad luck at the worst possible times. Kyle will be a big threat and it would not surprise me if Joey wins a race or even 2. Will we see if they have what it takes down the chase stretch, when it matters most.
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • I think JGR will have a great season next year.Kyle Busch will continue his success(though, probably not the degree of success he had this year-not saying anything bad about him,but that seasons like that don't happen very often),win 4-6 races, and make the Chase easily.Denny Hamlin will probably have a decent season, winning a couple of races and probably making the Chase.Joey Logano will have a learning curve and will probably have an up-and-down season.NOTE:When I say that about him,I mean he will probably win only a race or two, barely make the Chase, and win rookie of the year(that is a bad year for that kid-watch out in 2010,though).
  • I think they will be just fine without Tony...and I am SO looking forward to seeing Joey and what he can do in that #20 car.
Kyle will do extremely well once again. But I am looking for better things come the chase. No more "mechanical' problems after doing so well all year.
And Denny...is well Denny...he will drive a car too in a way.
  • I think Kyle will do great and have a lot of wins. He will easily make the Chase. I think Denny will win 1 or 2 and make the Chase. I don't see Joey winning any. However, I'm wrong a lot.
  • I think they will perform the same way they have in the past I think kyle busch wil be a contender for the cup but not win it I think for many years to come the cup will be decided by jimmie and carl just like the old days that were decided by Richard petty and david pearson.
  • Kyle Busch alone will make it a very good season. Joey Logano will struggle in his first year a bit and who knows which Denny Hamlin will show up...............I think #18 will make the chase, but that is it.
  • i think logano will wreck alot of people simple as that
  • Kyle and Denny will make the chase. And both will have multiple wins.
    shadowplan
  • Would you like to see this happen again?

    May be...

  • I'd love to see that, but doesn't look it's going to happen with the economy in bad shape.
  • NASCAR def needs to stay in US
I think the season ends just early enough where it leaves me wanting more. If they did that, I doubt I would watch that and stick with the regular season
  • that would be awesome
  • It would be great to have another All-Star Race so to speak but it would cost more money and give the crews and drivers more work.
  • I would LOVE that. I'm gunna miss racing so much!!!
  • I would love a reason to keep watching Dale Jr. And a reason to keep hopin that Gordon will have another DNF. But alas I must wait till next season... :(
  • Of course I want NASCAR to stay in the US but I still will take any fix I can get. So yes, give me a race!!! Love to see it.
  • Heck yes! I have a "duh" period of time in between November and February. I would love to see NASCAR run some exhibition races.
  • That would be great if they had a race or something between the final week in Homestead and the Daytona 500. I remembered that last year Jimmie Johnson & Casey Mears did a race overseas with top notch drivers from a Array of racing groups. I found something about it this year in December with Carl Edwards and Travis Pastrana. Here is the website:

    http://www.raceofchampions.com/tv/

Kyle Busch was supposed to test a F1 car but the last I heard that wasn't going to happen.
  • Back between 1996 and 1998, NASCAR ran some exhibition races after the season, two at the Suzuka Circuit and one at Twin Ring Motegi. It hasn't really affected me, but once the '08 season ended, many people seemed to have been disappointed already that there would be no racing for a while. So, would you like to see a special race come again after the season ends?
  • I would love an exhibition race at the Daytona road course for top winners.
  • Works for me!
  • Oh ya if they ran exhibition races between the end of the season and the start of the season id be so happy. But thats not gonna happen the economy is in such bad shape. That it just won't happen.
  • It's interesting that you said that because while I was watching the Homestead race, I told my brother that Nascar needs to do something for an exhibition race. My idea is that the drivers that choose to compete in the race can practice and qualify their cars but before race day they randomize the numbers like in a hat or such and every driver has to pick one. No matter what the car is they must drive that car. I think that would be awesome cuz that way you can tell if it is the car or the driver.
  • I'll take any Nascar I can get, whether here or Japan.
  • yeah it'd be great but...all it does is push off that disappointment just one more week.resetting service engine soon

Could it be true nascar is as popular as professional football ?

    May be...

  • Well it is only second to them. So there is a great possibility that it could pass football up. I know for a fact that NASCAR is more popular in my household than football.
  • It's not even close according to TV ratings. Regular season football games on Sunday afternoon get ratings equal or higher than the Daytona 500. I love NASCAR, but it's actually losing popularity I think.

To the guy who says NASCAR has a higher "at venue" audience you're a liar. Lets just say(for fun) that NASCAR has 300,000 fans at every race. That comes out to 10,800,000 fans all season with 36 races. This is an overestimation by far as only a couple of venues hold that many. Now take the NFL. 32 teams, 16 games for 16 weeks(256) times the amount in each stadium. We'll underestimate for football and say stadiums average 50,000 (even the smallest stadium holds more than 50,000). The total is still 2,000,000 higher than NASCAR for one season.
  • more popular with idiots
  • As long as stations like ABC (the worldwide leader in sports...HA!) continues to down play our sport by cutting to stuff like Americas Funniest Home Videos, then no.
  • I don't think so (yet), but football is a lot more popular in America.
  • yup very ppossible
  • why not!

for me NASCAR is more popular than football.
  • Nascar is the number one spectator sport in the country. TV ratings aren't everything. You need to look at how many people attend the races as well, and Nascar draws larger crowds.
  • Currently no. The NFL is still better (ratings) than NASCAR.

NASCAR has the #2 television audience (2nd to the NFL) & the NFL is 2nd to at-venue audience (2nd to NASCAR).
  • Yes, it is very possible.
  • It's the second most viewed sport next to Football so i'd say it is indeed pert near as popular.

  • no, not even close. i love both, but the TV ratings don't lie. football is way more popular than any other sport in america
  • NASCAR fans at the race and TV audience is dropping and Footballs is going up. Some JJ fan said more people attend the Daytona 500 than superbowl which is true but forgot (low IQ) say the world wide TV audience is about 50 times larger for the superbowl. Oh also I do not see NFL doing any cutting back and I cannot remember a sponsor dropping NFL for golf.
  • Maybe someday but right now the NFL is the undisputed most popular, most attended, most viewed and sells the most merchandise in the U.S. NASCAR is 2nd.
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • I heard that too. I didn't believe it but more people attend the daytona 500 than the super bowl.
  • If it hasn't - it soon will!

NASCAR has suffered for it a little though. It is no longer as purely exciting as it used to be, because it got too safe! Now, I don't wish anybody bad will, but these new generation cars aren't at all aggressive, and the bodies all look the same unless you're looking at them directly from the front!king sooper colorado
  • What is your favorite special favorite paint scheme from your favorite driver?

    May be...

  • Well Jamie McMurray didnt have any special paint schemes other than his propane gas sponsored one. ( I cant remember the company name). I did like Bobby LaBonte's breast cancer awareness month car though.
  • I like this one. It's a little old, but cool.

  • I'd have to say Jimmie Johnson's Tweety and Sylvester from 2002.

  • I like the Jimmie Johnson Foundation cars that the 48 team runs in California.

  • My favorite paint scheme for David Reutimann is the Aaron's paint scheme.

  • Read the community guidelines carefully. Learn what questions are acceptable. the biggest mistakes beginners make is asking questions that actually just chat. Your question must be a request for knowledge. You cannot ask "Who do you think is the best driver" that question would be deleted. Instead ask Which driver has won the most races. First question is seeking an opinion where as the second is seeking knowledge. Be careful of web links given in some Q & As some are scams or viruses.
  • watch for trolls
    you'll figure it out
  • We are all friends on here. Just dont be obnoxious. It doesnt seem as if you will, but we have problems with trolls, making fun of the sport and the drivers. So just dont do that!

    Other than that Welcome!
  • I have been on here a few times with my boyfriends account and I have now decided to join myself. I am a big nascar fan and I thought this would be a great way to make some new friends, get informative information and just have fun. I do have some questions. I have noticed that some people really stick together on here and have each others backs. Is there stuff I should know, shouldn't do, people to not make mad and is this a free for all on what we say or do we watch what we say about other drivers. I just don't want to get off on the wrong foot. Any advice you could give would be greatly helpful.
  • Just don't say dumb things like some of the people on here. In addition to this, I spend most my time on RootZoo. It's the best sports/Nascar site, better social aspect. Check it out, you'll love that one.

Use this link to get there:

  • just say whatever's on your mind and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. we already have a little 'clique' of people on here who try way too hard to kiss each others butts and say nothing but sugary sweet nice things about everyone else's drivers so they won't make anyone else in their little group mad. it's boring. we need more people to answer questions on here without holding back. if something is bothering or annoying you do us all a favor and just let it fly, don't be a sheep.

i see all the sheep are giving me thumbs down. boy, that'll show me.
  • Welcome to the Nation. By asking this, it sounds like you will fit right in. Just be yourself and you will fit in perfect. We don't bash other drivers but we are allowed to dislike some and disagree. Don't piss Greenbean off, he the the man and he hunts trolls for us. You will get to know us and we will get to know you. Have fun. I am the President of the Nation and on behalf of the Presidential office, welcome! :)
  • Welcome, have fun and watch out for the trolls
  • Hi Welcome to our little Corner of the world (or should i say net) Hope you enjoy this section, it's really great and i've met alot of great friends on here! You know just watch how you say things I try not to bash on others or their drivers whoever they choice to root for, now I do like to give my friends a hard way to go sometimes and will jokingly say something to get them we all do but we do it in a way they know we are kidding around, that's all, I'm just respectful to others (unless they are trolls that's a different story) I think you'll find this is the best place to hang out and get some good info from people that really know their stuff! So Welcome and I hope you enjoy it here!
  • It's simple. Be honest, state factual info, don't be biased to your favorite driver on every damn question and don't give a crap who you offend. I hate when people sugar coat their answers. Speak the mind that was given to yah. I'm a straight shooter and love everyone except two morons around here.

Welcome and have a nice night.
  • Welcome! I echo what Rackpurdue, Greenbean and IluvRS. This can be and is a great place to hang out and find out stuff about Nascar. There are some great people in here and very smart people that know Nascar like the back of their hands. I will say this, the regulars in here are great and there is a wide variety of favorite drivers which is very cool . It wont take you long to figure out the good ones from the bridge dwellers(Tr0ll$). I hope you enjoy this section as much as I do. Have fun!
  • Make sure to read the Guidlines carefully or your questions will get deleted. Also make sure to not sound like you're chatting even though its hard to do.
  • Welcome to the Nation! Sounds like you're off to a good start. This is definitely the place to be if you want great information. good opinions and good people to ask and answer questions. There's a lot of joking with others favorite drivers, but nobody bashes other drivers except for the trolls. Enjoy, have fun.palm vx hard reset

What are some "slogans" for Jimmie Johnson's future championships?

    May be...

  • Hey, enough of it already..

I think the majority of us fans want to see, perhaps, if you don't mind, a NEW champ...

Yes, Jimmie deserves the success and all but come on.... Honestly? Who wants to see JJ win again (except for those loyal fans of JJ)

As a loyal Jeff Gordon fan, I want to see him in the Championship Lane
  • goin for 5 in 2ten

    lol ya right
  • Next year,,,,,,,,,,,,"Four to the floor!!!"
  • Cheating's gonna get me a champianship one more time.
  • LOL I thought about 1 MORE 2 MAKE 4!!!! but settled on the 4's FINE N 09!!!! I don't spend a lot of time thinking about it they just sort of hit me all of a sudden. WIN IT AGAIN N 2010! NASCAR HEVN N 2011! I don't know about 2012...1 MORE 4 THE SHELVES N 2012?!?! I don't know, I will have to see what happens in the next couple of years.
edit: It was over 7 months ago when I started using the 3 STR8 N 08!!!
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • Jimmie is winnie we like himmie and he is going for the Championship againie!

Oh my that was bad but I tried..
  • I just wait for Steevo to come up with them, and adopt his. He's more creative then I am.

Though I did see somebody else a few weeks ago post "The War for four" or something along that nature.
  • Rear bumper: Chase mine in '09
    Four again in 2010
Be in heaven with 4 in '11
    Delve into 4 in '12
    Lucky 13, four is routine
4 in '14, where is your team?
    in '15 4 is keen

These are assuming Jimmie might go from being the Chase king to the robbed-by-the-chase Jeff Gordon
  • "One more year!" - Chanting it over and over again.
  • As somebody who hates Hendricks.

Johnson is the "Undisputed King of Chase Racing!"
  • "Oh no, not again in 2010!"
    That's all I've got.
  • I have noticed there is already a slogan for 2009 to help rally Jimmie Johnson to a 2009 championship (AGAIN)
    Example:
    4's FINE N 09!!!! (LOL)

    but what about
    2010
    2011
    2012
    2013
    2014
    and
    2015

What are the slogans for these years for Jimmie's "future" championships?knife boots

Why does Jeff Gordon do this kind of stuff?

    May be...

  • he does it to justify your obsession
    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...
  • That was over six years ago, so I don't think that he does things like this all the time. The same thing happened in the Coke Zero 400 this year, except for the big wreck. Jeff Gordon tried to block Carl Edwards which resulted in him spinning. In this case, it looked like Harvick was trying to block him and turned right into him. However, Gordon did take the blame for that. Both drivers made a mistake, it happens sometimes.
  • If Gordon didnt do that the 88 would have.
  • Whether it was Gordon's fault or not is irrelevant 6 years after the fact.
Name me one driver who has NEVER caused a wreck anyway, they've all done it, they're not perfect.
  • gay tendencies, since he's gay.........
  • Because he knows that it makes you want him more.
  • Well, sweety, I suppose you could polish up that resume of yours and submit it to Hendrick Motorsports. Put this little clip on there and Rick will see the error of his ways and get rid of Jeff.

How dare he block another driver during a race. He acts like its really important to win or something. Go figure!

Seriously, whats the big deal. It was 6 years ago and I could probably come up with 10 other clips from that same race let alone since then that a driver blocked on a super speedway. This one ended in a wreck. Many of them do. If you feel that blocking during a race is dangerous and want to talk about that, then I'm sure you'd get a more positive response than singling out a single driver who you repeatedly, ad nauseum, accuse of being gay.

  • Do you think championships are won mostly due to driver skill or crew chief?

    May be...

  • Combination of the 2. Like they all say its a "total team effort"
  • and online too. I have raced NASCAR online for the last 5 years. It's a blast. Thx for the points. Report Abuse
  • You gotta have both and Johnson and Knaus are both great............Teams better start doing thier homework or they are going to keep winning it.
  • Both you have to be good at both and have to work well together and Jimmie and Chad are a prefect example of that!
  • Both. No matter how good the crew Chief is if the driver is not an excellent driver.
Go down the list of drivers that have crew chiefs that have won championships with other drivers, yet they can't win with this driver. Sometimes barely stay in the top 15. Why?
Combination of things. Also has to do with the particular organization. What do they do and what people do they have behind the scene? It is a total package.
  • It is a mix of driver skill, crew chief and the entire pit crew.
  • Crew Chief matters mostly. You can have the best driver in the world BUT if that car isn't setup right he isn't going to win anything.
  • A combination of driver, car manufacturer, team owner, crew chief, pit crew, mechanics, spotter, timing and good old fashioned luck.
  • combination...
driver, crew, crew chief, and LUCK!!!
  • It takes both, just ask any driver OR crew chief that question and they will say it's because of the other. It's a true team effort that even goes beyond those two dynamics. Do you discredit Zippy because Smoke is an awesome driver or vice versa? How about Jeff and Ray? How about the King and Dale Inman? The list of examples can go on and on if you would like but what is your point? Both Jimmie and Chad are at the top of their craft and they are not going to fade anytime soon.

  • Bring it on, I can't wait.
  • I love DW. Boogity, boogity, boogity.....
I love all the commentators thoough, they all bring something unique to the table. Darrell brings a certain class-clown quality that I love.
  • Oh ya Boogity, Boogity, Boogity all the way.
  • I am!

  • Yes i am ready but it is to painful to think about it now ... the withdrawls have already started. Maybe i can sneak into the banquet or something.
  • No, it's been a very long and frustrating season for me. So for the first time I'm actually looking forward to a little off time, and a while for me to cool off and forget about 08. I'm sure though once the holidays are past I'll be more than ready to see them roll into Daytona.
  • been ready. it was even fun to see him during the track race preview show and hear him call what, about half the race... it'll be here sooner than i think, i hope...

  • Why do the drivers turn left and right quickly?

    May be...

  • It cleans the tires, gets the new tires warm, adjust the alignment, and sends a message to the rest of the field that you are about to go fast!!!!
  • Thats how they clean the cr@p off the tires, & keep the heat in..
  • It cleans the tires & keeps them hot. Better known as " Scrubbing the Tires"
  • when they are following the pace car.
  • It's all about hot rubber. Hot rubber sticks to asphalt better than cold rubber. It's the same reason that drag racers do a burnout - more traction.
Swerving back and forth quickly puts heat in the tire.
  • They are cleaning off the debris and rubber fragments off the tires. If they don't clean them, then they spin the rear tires on the next restart. This causes them to either get passed by a bunch of cars or a huge wreck.intelli sync lite
  • What would you do if Carl Edwards won the championships?

    May be...

  • I would be in total shock, and not in a good way.

I still think Jimmie's got it all locked up though, bearing no.... "knock on wood" mechanical failures...
  • I would get naked and run around in my yard nude.
  • I would go to Mark Martin Ford and buy a Ford Fusion.

  • I would throw a HUGE party! It would be nice but I am pretty sure he ain't gonna win it! I would love to see him win I would be jumpin up and down and screamin!
  • I would have to hide a smile, because Jimmie is supposed to win. Now ask me how it would make me feel :)
  • I would do a back flip.
  • how would you react
  • I would play grandspa's guitars. I love gratuitous S's.

Seriously? I'd jump for joy, maybe even flip. But, I'd do the same for Jimmie, at this point. It's been a very interesting year in NASCAR, to say the least.
  • If your talking about him winning the championship tomorrow, then i would be in a state of shock for about a week, but unfortunantly i don't think that's going to be the case.

Congrats on the championship Johnny, Clint, and Jimmie!!
  • Be thrilled!
  • be pissed, but happy for CE at the same time. #48 fan here!
  • I would woop it up and irritate my best friend who is a die hard Jimmie Johnson fan!!!!!!!!!
  • i was just thinking the exact same thing but i dont think he willdr jeet
