NASCAR NATION........HELP!!!?

May be...

  • Kasey Kahne will stay at GEM. He has the looks to pull in sponsors. And he has a huge fan base of woman a lot in part of because of his looks. Gillette isnt that dumb that he would give up someone like that.
  • Kasey Kahne rocks at intermediate tracks. All most all his wins comes there. Now why can't GEM know that?
  • I'm really feeling conflicted on the hole GEM thing, I totally feel bad on what happen to Elliot Sadler. And I am worried about Kasey Kahne's future as a driver in the cup, I realize none of this had anything to do with Kasey, BUT, George Gillette is Funking everything up their and Kasey is like a sitting duck........................... HELP, I need a confidence booster in my driver!!!
  • Yea, I agree, the whole GEM-Petty supposed merger is ruining the teams.

If it weren't for this troubled economy, this would not have happened.

I blame George Gillett and the economy.

    That's my two cents.
  • If he is a sitting duck he has wings . There is a lot better teams out there where he can land. He's a real good driver with lots of GOOD years ahead of him.
  • kasey will have to carry the team now that Elliot isn't there....good luck to him.
  • Have faith in Kasey. Remember he won 6 Cup races in 2007! That was pretty cool. He can drive. He did not have the best year last year, but that does not mean a thing. He does well and will only keep improving. Hang in there, he won't let you down.
  • Kandy Kahne sucks.
  • I agree with Maggie Kasey will have to carry the team now, and I hate what happened to Elliott I don't feel like he deserved it at all.
  • It doesn't seem that Kasey is in any danger right now. I wouldn't worry too much. Keep on supporting your guy, he's not doing so bad anyway. I also feel bad for Elliot, it didn't seem fair. I hope he gets a ride soon.

    *JAKD*
  • I don't feel bad for Sadler. I feel bad he hasn't had any success over the last few years. Nascar is big, big business and tough decisions have to me made. You can't drive around 30th every Sunday for long and keep your job at that level. Its not personal, its business. Kasey Kahne has done A LOT more to prove himself. I think he will be just fine for a while.
  • Know It All says it best, it's that simple....
  • kahne is safe because he performs better on the track than sadler, it's that simple.
  • It's unfortunate about what is going on with GEM, but I'm sure Kasey will be fine. He is a great driver. He was the Rookie of the Year in 2004, and was the winningest driver in 2006. Even though he didn't make the chase, I think he did a good job in 2008.

Kasey has had more wins than anyone driving for Gillett-Evernham. Even though the company is going through a lot with Elliott and the Petty merger, I think Kasey and Kenny Francis will be just fine in '09. I hope Kasey and Elliott both have great seasons.
  • Kasey's won at Atlanta.easy fix car
  • Good Go kart for ages : 13-16?

    May be...

  • It depends If Racing go kart or a go kart to ride around for fun. If racing look on ebay for an Ultramax. It can only be used on a race track because its so low and scap pavement. I also own a Baja motorsports Dune 6.5 , It is a fun gokart to ride in the neighborhood and sells for 500 dollars. Also look at Pep Boys.
  • Go to ironrockraceway.com

& their they have classes you can sign up for...but anyways they shoe lists of the right go kart for certain ages!

    iloveracinggggggg :D
  • Please budget : $500-650
  • 525car paint problem
  • Which team is better: the Detriot Lions or Jeff Gordon's team?

    May be...

  • Detriot Lions. 0-16 is better than 0-36 record. Gordon suckss!!!!!!
  • well i guess the only way to really tell is to suit up gordons team for a football game and see who wins then set the lions up at the track and see how it goes!!
but i have an idea that jeffs boys would win both!!
  • It's New Years, be nice!. Football, each team has 11 players on the field, a Nascar race is one against 42. Somehow those aren't good odds. Besides, how can you tackle a bunch of cars goin nearly 200 mph? I gotta go with Jeff Gordon.
  • Oh this made me laugh.....Gordon's is by far better, Lions are terrible and I don't see them getting better. Where Gordon yes didn't win a race, he still made it in the chase.
  • i say Detriot, even if 0-16 they still came closer to winning games unlike Jeff Gordon, who was 0-36 and didnt come close to winning.
  • You can't compare an NFL team to a NASCAR team
  • Jeff Gordon's team, as they came close to winning, and they functioned as a team, Detriot Lions they need more than a prayer.

Go Dale Jr & Hms in 2009
  • Oh absolutely Jeff Gordon...one of the BEST drivers out there!!!
  • Jeff came a hell of alot closer to winning a race then the Lions did to winning a game.
  • I hate to say the lions since they are my states football team, but this year did suck for them. :( So I am going to have to say Jeff Gordon's team was better.
  • Jeff was very close to winning last year several times (against 42 other teams) and has 4 championships. The Detroit Lions have NO championships and only had 1 team to try and beat every week. Jeff is better by far, it's not even close.
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • Jeff Gordon. sure 0-16 is better than 0-36 for a season.
    But Jeff Gordon is faster.

The Lions just need a whole new team. Jeff Gordon needs a better car.

so all in all, Jeff Gordon has the upper hand.
  • I'm laughing even thinking about some NFL center trying to get in the #24 through the window. Maybe it would make a good Saturday Night lIve skit!!!!

Let's see... Jeff Gordon has 81 wins, 328 top tens in his NASCAR career since 1995.

He also has 4 Cup Championships, A USAC midget championship, and 1991 Busch series rookie of the year.

    Detroit Lions have...

    4 League championships since 1930 (78 years).

So Jeff Gordon has a career 30.77 % Championship win ratio where as Detroit is 5.13 % for Championships.

There, I did the math for you.
  • The Detroit Lions couldn't beat the team my family made on the 4th of July but I'm sure Jeff can beat me in a race.
  • go screw yourself
  • gordons team is way better! if they went 36 races and finished 43 every race i would still call it a tie.
  • I really don't think you can compare the NFL and NASCAR. But if I did, I would have to say Jeff Gordon. He didn't win in '08, but he had 42 other cars against him in 36 races. A lot of people went 0-36, not just Jeff. The Lions had only one team against them in 16 games. Jeff had more competition than the Lions and still finished 7th in the point standings. The Lions were much worse. And Jeff had several chances at winning last year. He led races at Daytona, California, Martinsville, Talladega, and more. I know you won't agree with me, but that's the truth.
  • Even though they aren't comparable, I'd pick Jeff's team. The Lions are pathetic.
  • Actually that is funny! I am a die hard Lions fan, I know boo-boo, hiss-hiss but I am and will always be a Honolulu Blue fan. But really you can't compare the two.

Gordon has won 4 Championships in his career and the Detroit Lions well that is a bit tricky if you count the NFL Championship Games (before it was called "Superbowl") four (4) times. 1932, 1952, 1953, and 1957. Since then the closest the Detroit Lions ever came to the SuperBowl was in 1991.

So truth be told the Lions stink and Jeffie is a 4 time Champ.

    Go Lions in 2009!
  • Detroit Lions are just bad Jeff Gordon and his team have just had bad luck
  • I think you have an unhealthy obsession with Jeff Gordon. I mean it is one thing to hate a guy, but to make it your sole purpose in life is just sad. Anyway, the Lions have to all time worse record in the NFL. Now in NASCAR there have been driver that have gone 40+ races in one season without winning, and have gone much longer in multiple seasons without winning at all. (How many races did Micheal Waltrip have before he finally won?) So I would have to say Gordon isn't close to being able to wear the title of all time worse like the Lions will.

ALSO if you want to take a real look at how many teams he beat compared to how many teams beat him last year his record would be 1016/542 (point races only). To put that into relative terms that would put him at a 10-5-1 NFL record.
(I base this on 43 teams x 36 races for a total of 1538 positions. In which he finished better than 1016 other drivers and worse than 542)
  • I'm not Jeff Gordon fan but you're way off. The lions play against one team each week and lost them all, worst season ever! Gordon races against 42 teams each Sunday. If you put his team up against each team individually, his win-loss record would be well above the 500 mark. He made the "playoffs" in 2008. There is no comparison between the two teams.
  • Good point, the Lions suck overall, but Gordon's team has history and still talented. Which would you rather face in a pressure situation, the sucky Lions, or Jeff?94 grand prix transmission

Who is the worst driver in the best car at the moment?

    May be...

  • Casey Mears (HMS)
    Juan Montoya (Ganassi)
  • Casey Mears at RCR.
  • I wouldn't say he is the worse driver, but Casey Mears getting the 07.....Serious horse shoes were served to him that day.

Best driver in worst car: Brian Vickers
  • Bad driver, good car Mears
Good driver, bad car Robby Gordon
  • well this is gunna stir things up but maybe Joey Logano. I mean we all saw what he did in the few races he ran. now he's in a 2-time championship winning car. my opinion.

The best in the worst is probably Mark Martin. The 5 isn't bad but it is not in the same league as it's teammate the 48. once again, my opinion.
  • worst driver best car:simply kurt busch
best driver worst car:simply ryan newman
  • Worst Driver/Best Car...Jaime Mc Murray

    Best Driver/Worst Car...Kasey Kahne....

Gotta give props to my favorite driver....Casey Mears...he's been tossed around in the past 4 years with 4 different crew chiefs, right now he needs to have the same crew chief for longer than a season. Unlike Jr that was mentioned earlier he got to bring his crew chief...apples and oranges.
  • worst driver best car is mears
best driver worst car is either vickers or kvapil
  • Who is the best driver in the worst car?
  • Casey Mears 216 starts and only 1 win, and 2 seasons with Hendrick he only got 1 win. Hell Jr just got there and he has 3 wins, he got 2 within a week of being there. I can understand how he didn't win with Ganassi, but HENDRICK. Thats how you no you suck.
  • JIMMIE JOHNSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Carl Edwards and Casey Mears.
    Go KASEY KAHNE
  • I'd say Montoya. Mark Martin is the best driver with the worst car.
  • Worst in best: Casey Mears.
    Best in worst: JPM
  • worst driver in best car: JPM at Gannasi
Best Driver at worst car: Vickers at Red Bull (he should have had some wins with them, but there not good enough to get him a win)
  • Worst Driver- Jaun Pablo

Best driver- Robby Gordon in car he owns lol
  • worst driver in best car: Casey Mears
best driver in worst car: Juan Pablo
  • Best in the worst possible car: Robby Gordon
Worst of the best car: David Stremme
  • worst driver best car: tony stewart
best driver worst car: kasey kahne
  • Casey Mears worst driver best car
Best driver worst car Kasey Khane

But it's 2009 and best wishes & great finishes to all! Well almost to all.....LOL!!!
  • Worst driver best car - Juan Pablo Montoya
best driver worst car - Robby Gordon

  • Who will Johnny Benson be driving for next year?

    May be...

  • Tina got it.
  • Wiki says he will be going to Red Horse Racing to drive the #1 Toyota Tundra in the 2009 season
    http://nascar.about.com/b/2008/12/16/ben...
  • Tina has it...for the truck series...Red Horse Racing owned by Tom Deloach. But earlier I read or heard that he will be with DEI in the Sprint series yet I can't find anything on it yet. I recall Mykey (Straightedge) saying he was glad that martin would get a good team mate. Still I can't seem to find confirmation but maybe someone else can.
  • yeah, Red Horse Racingsony d50q
  • If you could pick this for you driver?

    May be...

  • I would like to see Kasey Kahne buy the # 9 and move over to Penske Racing because I have lost ALL FAITH in the hole GEM THING!!!

BUT, I would keep Ray Evernham as my CREW CHIEF!
and Cabala's would be my sponsor!

BOYCOTT = " GEM " George Gillette will find out he messed up when Sadler makes the chase in 09' !!!
  • As of now, anything.
  • i would keep brian vickers in the 83 everything the same but i would move kasey kahne over to team red bull in the 84 because it really seemed like that team was coming together until they got rid of allmendinger and finally i would bring allmendinger back and put him in the 82
  • For Jamie I would pick the 99, still Crown Royal, Donnie Wingo, still driving for Jack Roush

    And

For Bobby, I would pick the 31, General Mills, Robbie Loomis, driving for Richard Childress Racing.
  • The only thing I would change for Jeff Gordon is his sponsor would be changed to Jones Soda.
  • For Jimmie I'd keep HMS, Chad and the 48. However I'd make the main sponsor Craftsman in stead of Lowe's and Kobalt.
  • I wouldn't change anything for Jeff or Jimmie, but I would change my other favorites.

    Casey Mears:
    Hendrick Motorsports
    #05
    National Guard
    Darian Grubb

    Brian Vickers:
    Hendrick Motorsports
    #25
    Mountain Dew
    Lance McGrew

Kyle Busch (pretty much the same as he was at Hendrick):
    Hendrick Motorsports
    #5
    CarQuest
    Alan Gustafson

    Greg Biffle:
    Hendrick Motorsports
    #26
    Subway
    Doug Richert
  • Well since I don't have an official favorite driver until the Petty announcement....I will do this for my team.

    Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM)
#43 Burger King/Coca-Cola (Get it King with the King)
I would like to see Todd Parrott as crew chief
and for driver if I had my pick would be Elliott Sadler.

    Just an opinion as always.
  • Robby Gordon. I'd like to see him drive with Tony Stewart for Haas and maybe take Haas' part owner. Number 13. I think that would be lucky for Robby. Sponsor, keep Jim Beam as a sponsor and have Chad Knaus for the crew chief.
  • For Reed I would pick Penske, the #12.....and Chad Knaus and I would still want him with Target.
  • Believe it or not Robby Gordon knows what he is doing. He just needs a crew chief that will stand up to him. He needs to have more Monster in Nascar.
  • For Dale Jr, I'd leave everything the same but I'd make Chad Knaus his crew chief.

Go Dale Jr & Hms in 2009
  • team: Hendrick Motorsports
    number: 64
    sponsor: mountain dew
crew cheif: kenny francis (he is real underrated)
    manufacturer: chevy
  • I would put him in the 25 with National Guard as his sponsor and Jimmy Elledge as a crew chief. The one thing though is that I wouldn't want him with Hendrick Motorsports.
  • FOR GORDON, I WOULD KEEP #24, SPONSOR WOULD BE TACO BELL, CREW CHEIF WOULD BE CHAD KNAUS
  • What team, number, sponsor, crew chief, etc.(anything you want to pick) would you give them?
  • Haas-Stewart racing
    99
    Apple
    ray evernham (90's evernham)

where are all the blue avatars from? i want 1 #14
  • I wouldn't change a thing. JGR is perfect for Kyle, as is his crew chief/team, and everything he's got there..
  • I would want Reed Sorenson to drive for Roush Racing in the #6, (not because I dislike David Ragen because I don't, but because I like the #6) have Valvoline for the sponsor and have his crew chief be Bob Osborne.
  • for Jeremy I would pick for him to go back to the #12 Mobil 1 car for Penske (the best car he ever had and now that Rusty is gone all would be ok again). Crew chief would be Kenny Francis (Kasey Kahne's current crew chief/Jeremy's old crew chief (was his cc when he won Richmond in 04).

Brian seems happy where he is :)
  • Penske South
    2
    Miller Brewing Company
    Robbie Reiser
  • For Kurt I would pick Yates Racing, the #2, Miller Genuine Draft, Buddy Parrott as a crew chief and drive a Ford Fusion.

Hope everyone had a great New years holiday!
  • Juan Pablo Montoya
No. 20 - Joe Gibbs Racing
    Texico/Havoline Toyota
    Brad Parrot as crew cheif

Everything the same with Kyle Busch, except give him Greg Zipadelli

Everything the EXACT SAME for Scott Speed.scribing panel lines
  • Is anyone watching the movie right now?

    May be...

  • I am with you "MOJO"! Lovin' it! Someone's already got your answer for ya....but I think it's neat he landed that gig before his driving career took off. Very interesting.
  • i watch that movie 7 times a day. i have a man crush on Dale sr
  • Chad McCumbee played Dale Earnhardt Jr in the Movie 3.

    No I don't get ESPN
  • I bees wachin it all day long.
  • I don't have ESPN Classic, but thanks for rubbing it in my face.
  • I never watched it because Theresa and Dale and the rest didn't like it...said it didn't portray the real him...and so I was loyal and never did see it. Though for Christmas in 2007 my daughter bought me the Whole 6 disk set of "DALE"...in a tin box. Narrated by paul newman which makes it even better. This one the Earnhardts did approve of.
  • I'm watching Cincy vs. VT. Chad McCumbee played June Bug though. You're very welcome. Thanks for supports Cervical Cancer Awareness Week.
  • the movie "3" on ESPN Classic? It is on right now on the East coast.

To make it a real question....
Who is the NASCAR driver that plays the part of Dale Earnhardt,Jr. in this movie?
  • Chad McCumbee. I just got finished watching USC win the Rose Bowl, yipeee and now watching the Orange Bowl. I've seen that movie before it was no where near as good as Dale the Movie. There was a lot of stuff in 3 that just was not right, and the family never approved of it like they did the movie Dale.

Has there been any pictures of JR Motorsports # 5 car for 2009?

  • Unilever is suppose to be the primary sponsor. One of their products is represented by a sheep. http://www.unileverusa.com/Images/surf_4...
Is it possible that we have a car that is painted up like a sheep in the Nationwide series in 2009?
  • When Unilever sponsors the car, It will be with some of their more popular brands :Hellman's mayonnaise, Ragu pasta sauce, Klondike ice cream and Lipton tea

Couldn't find any pics will most likely look similar to Kasey Kahnes busch car from a few years back
  • I couldn't find any myself but it looks like Tom found ya one. I am sure Unilever will distance themselves from GEM and the cars will all look completely different. I am sure Unilever who's writing the checks if they want a sheep car they will get a sheep car. If I as a car owner had a multi=million dollar sponsor and they wanted a sheep car they'd get it!

  • I like Bobby. Always have, and would like to see him in a full time ride. But Elliot is the one I want driving my car.
  • I'm going with Elliott Sadler on this one, heck Labonte has that past champion thing he can fall back on.. Besides, Elliott is so cool, and he's a good friend of Dale Jr.

Go Dale Jr & Hms in 2009
  • kind of depends. lol

if I had a good sponsor, Sadler

if trying to start new team, LaBonte, he is going to get everything out of car but wont wreck it trying to get more, very consistent
  • Bobby's got more success in the past and still performed better than Sadler as recently as last season. I'd take him easily.
  • both
  • sadler
  • Well, since Bobby Labonte ranks second on my favorite driver's list, Bobby can still race, but he needs a good ride to make a top 20 finish each race.
  • Both! Elliott Labonte. :) Elliott is ahead of Bobby on my totem pole of favorite drivers. Bobby is a class dude as well. Tough one. I would create two driving jobs. We can always use more jobs right?

Happy New Year Nascar Nation and Mr President!
  • Sorry to say, but you can't bet against someone that can bring a past champions provisional to your car. I'd say Sadler if he was one, but I have to say Labonte.
  • They're both good but I would have to go with Sadler. I've always thought he is a much better driver than his number of wins reflects. He had a lot of top 10 finishes in that #38 car. None of the Dodges have done well the last couple of years. Maybe Sadler and Labonte should try to drive Toyotas next year. Then we could see if these two popular drivers could turn their careers around.(Let the thumbing down begin.LOL!)
  • I think I would have Elliott Sadler drive. If Sadler would get a good ride I think that he could be great.
  • Now you've lost it Tom. I gotto go rehearse. Go get an underage drunk on and play "you're time is gonna come" man.
  • LOL honestly id go with Bobby. Hes proven that with good equipment he can win and not only win, but win championships. Were as Elliott has only won 3 races in 357 starts. Thats not that good.
  • Elliott Sadler
  • Elliott Sadler but I like Bobby too.
  • bobby labonte.
  • I THINK ELLIOT NEEDS A CHEVY RIDE WITH STEWART AND HE WOULD ROCK THE TRACK
  • Hmm...probably Bobby Labonte.
  • That would most likely be Elliott Sadler
    *cheers*
    woot woot
  • Love love Bobby but Elliott is may main man!
  • Bobby Labonte or Elliott Sadler. I am asking for your honest opinion, I will thumbs up even answers for Labonte. Lol
  • Labonte
  • I would hire Labonte....strictly on the FACT that he has a past champions provision in which my car would almost always be GUARANTEED to make the race. That would be the ONLY reason on why I would hire Labonte over Sadler. But again I am sure whoever my sponsor (if I had one) wanted would be the one to get the ride.
Fun question! Just an opinion as always.ca eb game
  • Do you think Jimmie could make it four in a row next year?

    May be...

  • I definitely think he can, but would rather he not. Time for a new champ!
  • NO
  • Yes,I believe that Jimmie Johnson WILL make it 4 in a row next year and no,I do not think that Chad is stretching the rules.he used to work in the gray areas a lot with the old car(which got him in trouble at times),but you cannot do ANYTHING to the COT without getting brutally punished.
  • Of course he can but I hope he doesn't. I am looking forward to a new champ. he has a better chance than most I think though. Is Chad and crew stretching the rules??? Well don't they all? Just a little??? I don't think he is cheating I think he learned his lesson.
  • hell no he just plan out sucks
  • So what you are suggesting is Rick is using Dale Jr's popularity money to pay off NASCAR to let them bend the rules so Jimmie Johnson can win a 4th championship? I guess if that is true LOL then sure he can win a 4th championship. I like your conspiracy. Wait... I'm a Dale Jr fan. I don't like that conspiracy at all.

Seriously, if anybody has shown they can do it it's Jimmie and Chad.
  • Of course he can. It's the will he that remains to be seen.
And they all stretch the rules..
  • Sooner or later, his luck will run out. I think he used it all up at Talladega. I would kinda like to see it, but Carl Edwards will be out for blood in 2009.
  • HELL NO. Just HELL NO. All i have to say.
  • I think he could, and with all his success, ever wonder if Chad and the crew might be stretching the rules...just a little? Do you think he could make history in 2009?
  • i think he could if he can win 1 or 2 of the first 5 races
  • well sure he can guy.
  • He could but i do not think he will. With a veteran like Mark Martin in the fray at Hendrick Motorsports, Jr. finally having a year under his belt and Jeff hungry it will make for an exciting year alone for the team mates not counting RCR, Roush and Tony's new team. .
  • Yes. But he won't. And I would tell you why. But, i'm going to wait untill the chase before I explain it to the whole NASCAR Nation.
  • I think with his past track record nothing is impossible for this team. I am sure every team stretches the rules as far as they can, until they get caught of course. The #48 team has had a wonderful past 3 years and with that being said, I just can't even try to take that away from them. Congrats to them.
  • i think, without a doubt, he could definitely make it 4 in a row!
    he's amazing!
& as for Chad, i don't think he is. i think he (& the rest of the 48 crew) have really figured out the CoT.
  • yeah, he might make it 4 in a row
it seems to me that he gets better and better every year and hey, I'm just saying
  • Sure he can. As for the second part of your question I giggled at that fer sure. lol

    Knaus cheat???? Noooooooo.
  • No he'll choke. Its just like saying "are the Yankees gonna win 10 WS in a row"
  • Johnson sucks, go Junior!
  • hell to the "no"
  • no, if he does i wont watch nascar ever again
  • Yes, I do. He has finished in the Top 5 every year since he started in 2002, so I definitely think he will do good. He has gotten better each and every year. With a perfect chase, he will be a contender for the championship again. I think Jimmie will win about six races and at least finish in the Top 3 in points. And I really don't think Chad is stretching the rules. He has been suspended for things during the race weekend, but I don't remember the #48 ever failing post-race inspection. So I don't think the #48 team cheats.double hilton tree
  • Who's excited for Mark M to race in some good cars this year?

    May be...

  • It will be interesting to see how he stacks up against the other three Hendrick drivers. I just hope Mark and his crew chief work well together.
  • I have nothing but respect for Mark and I wish him the best in '09. He is a great driver and just may thrive in the HMS house.
  • I think it is cool Mark gets to drive for Hendrick. I think the spirit of driving for him will do Mark well and he has cool team mates too. I hope he has fun and I think Hendrick's Chevy's will do great for him.

I think though he would be more excited to have Viagra back as a sponsor.
  • mark martin always raced good in any car he drove, but i think that mark martin will have his best season this year because he's driving for the team that won the championship 3 years in a row.
  • any car Mark Martin drives is a good one.
  • I'm really looking forward to it. Now, that he's signed full-time, he has a better shot at the championship. (And I hope he wins.) He has always had great cars, but Gordon and Johnson will be unbeatable teammates.
  • I can't wait to see Mark in the 5 HMS Chevy in 2009.I hope that he does extremely well.
  • Well to my knowledge Mark has always raced in good cars every year since 1989. Mark's problem has always been luck....so hopefully he'll find some luck this year and pull off a few wins and compete for the championship. Would love to see it! Just an opinion as always.
  • Hes been in good cars. He drove for Roush which is great cars, he drove for DEI which has good cars.
  • Mark is a great driver and I am really looking forward to him in the #5 car...to see how he does.
  • dude! he's past his prime!
  • When Mark raced in the Army car, he is a championship caliber driver, but he doesn't race full time. Hendrick, plus full time equals Chase.
  • He's always had good cars...he has been hurt by running only part time but that was the choice he made. It will be good to see him run full time again and I hope he wins the championship.
  • Excited as I have been the last quarter century. Yay. I know I know.... he's so respectable blah blah blah.

Team HMS didn't help Jr, Vickers and Casey "what's his name."
  • i am, i'll be hoping for him to win the championship.buy kosher for passover

  • NASCAR The curse of the 19 car ?

    May be...

  • Allmendinger next in what? there is no curse
  • I don't enough about AJ to answer this. sorry.
  • Ity says "The common denominator between Mayfield and Atwood is that both drivers have barely been heard from since their dismissal from the 19 car. They have fallen off the NASCAR radar. Will Sadler suffer the same fate? Is the 19 car a career killer? Should Allmendinger be worried? """

Well Jeremy did put the 19 in victory lane on more than one occasion but casey atwood..well he wasn't that great. As far as Elliot Sadler...nope...he's a fan favorite, marketable, decent driver, and though he really hasn't hit victory lane he has gotten close a few times. No curse on Elliot...we will be hearing a lot more from him ON THE TRACK. I truely believe that.
Allmendinger?? Lets hope it wasn't just beginners luck that he is a good driver. But no I don't believe in curses. Good question and article though. Thanks!
  • i dont really understand what that means
  • allmendinger is a curse on his own self
  • http://www.examiner.com/x-2149-Atlanta-N...

This was in NASCAR .COM . So what do you think .Is Allmendinger next . Or is this all bull'
  • It appears that there's a curse on the 19 and a curse on Allmendinger. Together, maybe they will accomplish more.

The article is totally correct, Sadler and Labonte shouldn't have to be scrounging around for a ride. Especially Bobby, he's a former champion for pete's sake!air asia cebu

Where should I sit at Martinsville?

    May be...

  • Sit high but not to high. And a good place to sit is either coming out of turn for or going into turn 1.
  • Enjoy the race. I've never been, so these answers are great. Maybe sometime in the future I can go to Martinsville.
  • I don't think it cares whether you sit on a stretch or a turn, just sit high enough where you can see the whole track.
  • I think you should high next to the finish line. If it comes to a last lap battle, you can see everything. Plus, when Jimmie Johnson wins the race you are going to, you can see his awesome burnout.
  • Towards the middle, so it good level to see everything w/o being too high or too low.
  • I like the Blue Ridge Tower area - section I row 20 or so. You can see the entire track and you are close to the Start finish line.

    Enjoy!
  • all the actuion is between 1 @ 2
so if you sit halfway up in turn 1 you can still see the start finish line
actually you can see the whole track from there but pit road action is in front of you to
  • I'm about to buy some tickets to Martinsville, but I can't decide on what seats to get. What seats would you recommend and why? High/low? Turn 1, 2, 3, 4? If any of you that have been to Martinsville could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.
  • sit high (so you can see across to the other side of the track) between turn one and the start / finish line. i say this seating area would do just fine. you'll get to see the the whole race from all sides of the track, and see my driver , Tony Stewart (or your favorite driver) take the checkered flag at the end.
  • As long as you're about row 20 or higher, you can see the entire track. So do not sit lower than that. You'll also prefer to not sit on the backstretch b/c you cannot see pit lane. The section between turns 3 and 4 is fantastic. You can see the entire track without swiveling your head. Basically, there are only a few "bad" seats there.windows launcher for palm os
  • Nascar Nation--Can you answer this?

    May be...

  • I'm going to say Darrell Waltrip. He left the #11 Mt Dew car owned by Junior Johnson (three championships) and went to drive for Rick Hendrick in the #17 Tide car. He never won another championship and Rick had to wait until 1995 to win a championship with Jeff Gordon.
  • Terry Labonte? I don't know any of the details, that just sounds like it could be the right answer.
  • who cares? nascar sucks
  • In 1986...a top driver made a shocking announcement towards years end...He was leaving the team that made his career. The car owner was shocked....no make that very angry and felt betrayed. The new owner for 87 was all smiles as he felt he just "bought" an instant ticket to a Winston Cup Champion. But alas that championship was still many years away and with another driver. The news was shocking to Nascar fans they couldn't believe this was happening. But all in all money talks at the end of the day. So can you tell me who this top driver was? What team did he leave? Car # owner etc
What team did he go to in 87? Car # owner etc.
Did this driver ever win a championship with either team???
Good luck and have fun with it!
  • No I cant answer Jeff, but I would like to tell Minus D above me to go swallow one. TYVM!!power runner 2300
  • Where you you tell George Gillette and Evernham to stick it?

    May be...

  • I am guessing that this is a bad thing, even avatars are changing. I think GEM is losing fans.
  • As far up their @sses as possible
  • no, but I would have a side order of fries. You need to learn how to read and write, so you can form a functioning question
  • Tom we have to learn to breathe. i am having broadband issues tonight and when i finally got on i got on to this! All before his nuptials. We have got to put things in perspective
He is a good driver with a loyal fan base in which any owner should be proud to have him.
His best years are a head of him
He is well liked and well respected in the community and someone like that does not go unnoticed
And he is very very marketable in which sponsors love
We will be there for him through think and thin we have just run into a thin spot right now- remember it is a rumor and if it were true it would be Ray's loss.
I am with you Mr.Prez all the way and so isn't the rest of Nascar Nation
  • I'm hoping that Allmendinger is moving to the 19 to take Sadler's place because he's moving to a 4th GEM car if they merge with Petty.

    This is getting ridiculous.
  • Well seems you have turned to the dark side Bad A$$ Prez

But just how bad are you? hahaha

Ray and George can both get it stuck so far up they can't sit down for the entire season.
  • I think NASCAR Nation Chief of Staff said it best. What could I possibly add to that .........

Other than please let me be there when it happens.
  • Ray Everham is out as much as Elliot. He had nothing to do with this. My guess is he saw this stuff coming and planned his exit.
  • SHOVE THEM STRAIGHT UP THEIR *** AND HOPE THEY CHOKE ON IT!!!!
  • Being a Jeff Gordon fan I personally dislike Everham for leaving Gordon. I would tell them to go back to Gordon so Gordon can win it all just like he used to and still can.
  • Tom I really wished I could put it in text on here. There would be nothing but !@#$%^&*()_+ in my message. in my eye's that's just plain and simple anti-American on Ray and Georges part. I can tell You what I WILL do and that's get rid of my Gillette Fusion razors and shaving cream. I will use something else. That's how i roll on the loyalty part of Nascar. I will also campaign againts the 5 bladed razor that cut me everytime, stay away from McDonald's cause it makes me puke and Best Buy will never see this fat boy in one of their low life stores.
  • Yes, it sucks. But as Winter said, it might be for the better. Hopefully Elliot will get a better ride next year.
  • up their @ss so far they choke on it.

Maybe Elliot will go back to Woods Bros. maybe they will shine with him on the team. Cripes sake. makes me not even want to watch this season.

Even sponsors were threatening to walk. Good for them. I hope they do and go with Elliot wherever he goes. GEM is a sinking ship anyway. A ship of fools.
  • To be completely honest, I have wondered how Sadler has kept a ride this long. I don't hate him, but Nascar is business and Sadler hasn't run well in years. Heck, I've always thought Hermie was a better driver than Elliott, but what do I know? There's still a few weeks until Daytona kicks in, so many things can happen.
  • Man, I feel so bad for Elliott. This couldn't have happened to a better guy. A.J. did good with the #10 last year, but he's not worth replacing Sadler at all. There aren't many rides available right now, so I really hope that Elliott will find a much better ride for his sake, for you, and all of the Sadler fans. GEM has been in a big mess for a very long time. I have to like Evernham for all of what he did for Gordon years ago, but I can't say I like him right now at the moment.
  • i'm with you Mr Prez on this, definitely where the sun will never ever shine, they sux. Who could do this to Elliott, heck come on GEM the dude is getting married on Jan 17, geez this is no wedding present for sure. I hope this is some kind of mis-print maybe they will put him in the #10. Now Elliott I know you and Blake Shelton are best buddies, maybe you got a record deal, I know you were working on a CD. But dang you do not have to leave Nascar. I'm sure something will come around for him. I still can not believe what I read, I had to read it 2 or 3 times. GEM you got this so so so wrong.. I do like the dinger, BUT not at Elliott's expense..

Go Dale Jr & Hms in 2009
  • I hope that Elliot gets a good ride. It seems ridiculous that two good drivers (Bobby LaBonte and Elliot Sadler) are not signed right now. And the fact that it is the middle of the season.

I say shame on Gillette for letting Elliot go, but I also said the same thing about Petty letting Bobby go. so I am hoping that they both get good rides, and prove to the whole sport especially Petty and Gillette what morons they were to let the drivers go.
  • Well, Tom I can understand why you are frustrated BUT I would wait 'til we hear the official announcement. I made a call to my buddies who work for the #12 team....they were unsure about this and called it a rumor. But one of them hinted at Gillette Petty deal is done....but Sadler was a piece of the puzzle....Petty and their new sponsor wants Sadler to drive. Sadler according to them jumped at the chance to drive the #43....thus opening up a spot for AJ. Now of course all of the above is RUMOR. Lets just wait and see....just an opinion as always.
Hang in there Mr. Prez.....we're rooting for you.
  • Awe Tom, I was shocked but, ya never know my friend maybe it is just a rumor. Nothing verified yet. If so then that just means Elliott is open for a ride. He will get one....Gotta trust my iner wisdom. Screw them. Sorry Tom

    ((((((huggs))))))
  • I'm sorry kiddo. I know this must be a pretty rough blow. I just read about it on Jayski.
    HOWEVER......
Sometimes when things like this happen, it ends up being even more beneficial for the driver. (I speak from experience)
Did I ever tell you about my first question ever asked in the NASCAR section? It was the day it was announced that Rick Hendrick had decided to let Kyle go.
My question was a hate filled graphic rant about Rick Hendrick, thus it got three answers and a violation notice all within 2 minutes of it being up. I was just as pissed off as you are right now.
Look at the end result. It worked out better for Kyle, maybe the same will hold true for Elliott. Hang in there.20yh
  • If NASCAR held a race during the week of Christmas, where would you like to see it run?

    May be...

  • Make it a night race at Bristol!
  • Hot 'lanta is my pick
  • I say the night race in Vegas. I enjoy watching the Trucks run there at night, so why not Sprint Cup Cars?
  • Psh... let's go dirt track racing boys!

Let's call Tony and convince him to open up Eldora ASAP.

... to answer the question, Atlanta :P
