Do you ever think about Nascar when you drive?

May be...

  • Yes I do. Especially when I am on the expressways. I consider an off ramp the entry to pit road. When I am behind a slow person, I get close to their rear bumper and then pass them, thinking about drafting and the slingshot. When I have to stop for gas, it is a gas-n-go.
One of the hardest things to do though, is when I have to listen to the race in the car. I hear the roar of the engines on the radio and for whatever reason, I feel the need to drive faster! Luckily of rme, I have never caused a yellow flag!
  • YES! I'd love to give the A*hole in front of me the old, chrome horn!
  • I never know if that moron begind me is tailgating or just drafting. I hate seeing the pace car come out (police!).
  • Not really. I think about all the inattentive drivers and angry people on the road, and particularly watch out for drunks. I watch an area at least 100 yards all around me and am prepared to yeild to anything that moves. I don't drive next to other people on the road and space myself as far away from people as I can. If someone wants to go fast or be a tough guy, they can go around me and i'll let them. I did too much street racing when I was younger, and I got in too much trouble. I still know how to make a car perform, but now I just do it off-road. If I had to, I still know all the tricks. Fortunately for me, my work is two blocks from where I live. I feel so lucky to be able to walk to work. I'll probably be doing some 4-wheeling in the snow this winter, and you know that's the exact opposite of NASCAR racing
  • Yes when I draft cars and big trucks on the freeway..............
  • If you are not old enough to drive, then when you take the school bus.

I do all the time. 2 hour commute to work 5 days a week.

  • Yes I do. I look at all the cars passing by or the one I pass to see if they have a Nascar driver decal or bumper sticker and I do especially if someone is tailgating. Also if Im on a major highway and there is a pack of cars passing me in the left lane and there is a pack of them I find myself wanting to jump in behind them and draft.
  • Storm,
I think of NASCAR 24/7 That is one of 2 things on my mind everyday. The other being my sweetie =)

I'm thinking of NASCAR in school During Lunch Sleeping

EDIT: I always like to walk behind someone in the mall and "draft" off of them haha

For Me It's How bad have you got it? kinda thing!

NASCAR Rules! and Martin Truex Jr Wins the Martinsville Race tomorrow!!!
  • Oh yea. As long as I am passing everyone else I am happy. I don't like anybody drafting me either. LOL I get close to the steering wheel, like an old lady and pass by them on the 4 lane. When I get beside them I turn and look at them real hard and then "take off". Every day is like Bristol to me on the 4 lane. I love making room to pass cars weaving in and out of traffic without giving turn signals. I like to intimidate the cars in the fast lane by pulling up on them real fast. If they don't move out of the way I'll slip in between the car in the fast lane and the slow lane (if there is a tiny bit of room) and shake things up a little bit. I like making my fellow motorists nervous.

    That's NASCAR thinking isn't it?
  • All the time!! I don't tail, I bump draft, I don't speed, I qualify! I wish it would only take me 15 seconds to fuel up!!! And I always get a little twinge of excitemnt when I see a vehicle with a NASCAR bumper sticker, especially if it's the #'s 88, 24 or 48!
  • im not tailgating im drafting lead followw or get the hell out of the way www.racersreunion.com/chargincharlieputz... www.myspace.com/iamputzer1 nascar site
  • Yeah. I think about how Nationwide just raised my car insurance rates. But they assure me that it has nothing to do with their NASCAR sponsorship. Ha!
  • Yes. When I go to the zoo, the road we take is very twisty and I always like to think I am on a road course while I am driving it.
  • Ohh yeah. all the time.
  • I have thought about getting into someone's rear bumper and spinning them out when they cut me off before like a NASCAR driver.
  • Yes, all the time.
  • Sure, I wanna bump draft the slow people, and sometimes, when I am in traffic, I warm up my tires and try to get the debris off of them.
  • Yea. I always want to bump draft people.excel freezes up
  • Nascar technical brake question:?

    May be...

  • Yes, Martinsville has the biggest pad/rotor combination.http://stockcarscience.com/blog/index.ph...
Pads are about 1"thick or so, normally not replaced unless things go wrong. Brake calipers have six pistons - a passenger car usually has 1 or 2. The brake system has recirculators that transfer hot fluid out of the calipers.
  • Do they use the largest brakes at Martinsville?

    How thick are the pads?

    How big are the rotors?

Do they change anything on the brakes on a pitt stop in Martinsville; or only if they burn the pads up?

    Anything else interesting about brakes.

  • Does anyone have a favorite Kyle Busch moment from 2008?

    May be...

  • Yeah him Sweeping the Road Course Races (Sonoma & Watkins Glen)
  • No I don't have any.
  • Darlington was amazing for me.
That was the week after the fiasco at Richmond, people were throwing things at him and booing him. Alot of people here said that he wasn't even going to finish the race. "Darlington's too tough for the Shrub"
I read that more times than I can count.

It was sweet that he proved the nay-sayers wrong.
    And my favorite moment:
    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2081/2484...
  • my favorite moment was when carl won(dislike him also) and spun kyle's butt out after he won and then acted stuck up.
    that was my favorite moment
  • I was at the Dover race he won and he did donuts right in front of us, that was my favorite moment.
  • for me it was the first pocono race when his overrated @ss wrecked his primary car in practice saturday, and then turned around and wrecked his back up car early in the race sunday, and then tried to blame the wreck on his spotter. a close second would be the sept. richmond race when junior put his pee wee herman lookin' @ss in the wall as payback for the first richmond race. it's hard to choose though, he had many similar highlights this year, like when he spun out in the first bristol race with no one around him while leading the race. BTW, everyone hits the wall at darlington a bunch of times, that's why they call the marks on the cars a darlington stripe.
  • Favorite KB moments (not really moments, just...)

    1. I really like his after-victory celebrations (the bow, the hand counting trick, the childish little jog from his car to get the flag, etc.)

    2. His reaction and bravery against Jr. Nation and all the haters...(especially his words after the Richmond run-in)

    3. His aggressiveness...

4, Oh yeah, that win at Darlington was really awesome. Gordon ended up 4th and he didn't even hit the wall.. KB won and he hit the wall more times than the entire field combined...

    5. Yes, those wins at the road courses were very surprising to me... very surprising...

Kyle Busch has basically proven himself this year. The road courses are there and the restrictor-plate tracks he's got checked off... The flat tracks he needs improvement.. Kyle Busch, I strongly believe deserves this championship... Man, it just slipped away for that kid.. Overall, this has to be a very dominant season for KB.. a season equal to or better than Gordon's last year..
  • My favorite is when his car got loose and Jr came down on him and Jr hit the wall. Then all of the Jr fans blamed Kyle for an accident that Jr caused. That was funny
  • Don't go hatin' on me now, but my fav moment this season was 2 weeks ago when his car wouldn't start and they had a wrecker push him in. Sorry, but it was kinda funny. You don't see that too often.

    *JUJU*
  • starting the chase with two back to back parts failures
  • Whether you like him or not, Kyle Busch has had an amazing season this year. So I was wondering if anyone has a favorite moment or race that he has performed in this year. For me, I would say that his Darlington win from this year was pretty cool after hitting the wall a bunch of times.
  • My favorite is every time he crashes!
  • 1. Darlington Win---> You're right that was crazy and a lot of people hated seeing that. Not me
    2. Talladega win
    3. Watkins Glen win
    4. Daytona win/Chicago win---> those were great races which made it fun to be a NASCAR fan
    5. Infineon win
    6. Dover win/Atlanta win
    7. Richmond 2nd
    8. Winning 3 of 4 road course events
    9. Watching people get so upset because of how dominating he has been...and knowing he's only gonna get better since this was his first season at JGR
  • Every race that he failed to finish or finished way in the back. I cant stand him!
  • Watkins Glen when he won. I enjoyed that race.

    Storm---the real storm!
  • him kicking *** on the roadcourse
  • my favorite moment came at talledega......... i was in the allison section this year and everyone is going crazy cuz jr is leading..... then i asked the lady next to me ( a jr fan) how do you shut up 150,000+ fans have kyle busch lead a lap, and sure enough that place was quite as hell, except me i lost my voice yelling for him, with everyone looking at me lol
  • from the moment he got in the car in pre-season thunder until he gets out at homestead. doesn't matter what race, what series, or even how he does, my eyes are on rowdy. of course, i can look at other drivers if he's out of contention, but otherwise i'm looking for rowdy.

actually, if i had to pick one, it would be his final restart pushing jimmie johnson on that green-white-checkered at chicagoland. he had all but given up that race saying jimmie had never given one up like that and he had many times. then his spotter challenged him, rowdy ran right right up on him at the starting point, pushed him across the start/finish line, then made the bold move to the outside to pass. and it stuck. and he won. that was so unexpected, it totally threw jimmie (and kyle too i think) for a loop. that was one for the highlight reel that's for sure.

the ones i'm still looking forward to in 2008 are: 1) winning 10 races in cup; 2) winning 10 or more races in nationwide to tie or top sam ard's record, and 3) his 25th win of the year across all three series. that's what he said he's shooting for, and i believe he can still do it.
  • Actually my favorite moment was not this year, but the spring Nationwide race at Talladega last year when Busch did a move created by Elliott Sadler it's called --THE TALLADEGA TUMBLE!!!!
  • Not really. Maybe when his tire blew and he hit the wall running second in a Nationwide race after he was told by his crew to take it easy.
  • My favorite Kyle Busch moment was when Dale,Jr. paid him back by spinning him out while he was in the lead at Richmond last month like Kyle did to him in the first Richmond race!!!
  • wooooooooooo........''Engine is blowing up''from Dover-lol
  • My fave is probably his Chicagoland win where he passed JJ with 2 to go.

The May Richmond race with the little incident between him and Jr. was very memorable too. lol I love controversy...how to read pdb format

Why did they blame Kenseth for the chase system?

    May be...

  • Because he won one race all season and still won the Championship.
  • Couple reasons, he was consistent and with only one win made the chase again. As he is not one of the favored sons, there had to be a way to keep him out of the chase, so far no go.
  • who is "they"?
I don't think Kenseth ever had that jurisdiction
  • Jay is the man on this answer session. Kenseth won the championship in lame un-winner fashion, winning one race all season and borrring his way through 8th place finishes the rest of the year. Thanks a lot, Matt.
  • and i'll agree with jay on this one
  • For years Winston Cup had its set of points system then Nextel came along and shook it up and changed and with that change came controversary so they are working out the bugs.
  • Jay is right on ! The Chase crap did cost Jeff Gordon a championship, looks like it will scr*_w Rowdy of one this year.
  • Matt Kenseth was very consistent in 2003 when he won the championship, but he only won one race that season. Ryan Newman won eight races that year, but finished sixth in points. That's probably the main reason for the criticism, but the chase was probably made to help the TV ratings and the fact that NEXTEL was just coming in the sport.
  • Read the article. Kenseth won only one race all year, but finished in the top 10 in almost every race. Noone challenged him for the points lead all year. That's a big reason Nascar decide to rearrange the championship race. Not smart to ask a question when the answer is already right in front of you.
  • Because he won the championship while winning so few races. They changed the point system solely because of this.
  • I don't think it was anything personal against Matt,it's just that the old system was so boring,in general(not just when he won in 2003).95 ford escort wagon
  • Did you hear the news?

    May be...

  • Congratulations to Carl !!! Good one Maggie ! Thanks for the Info MR. PRESIDENT !!!!!
  • Awe that's cool, I didn't even know he had a girlfriend...LOL! Hmmmmm maybe I should use him this week for my fantasy team he will want a win for her ;) Congrats to Cousin Carl!

Your bad Maggie, funny but baaaad. *smiles*
  • Yup, I heard. Congrats!
  • He is? Congrats to the man who hangs out with the Aflac duck.

    -Edit-

Is the duck going to be the best man at Carl's wedding when Carl and his fiancee get married?
  • Congrats I guess? How long before he attacks her?!
  • I hadn't heard that yet but that's cool Congrats to Carl! Hope he don't treat her like he did when he got into it with Kevin LOL just kidding!
  • yep. congrats!
  • congrats i hope it works to it best advantage
  • I wonder if PETA knows what Carl is up too....................Quack Quack!!

Good luck Karma Carl; you can afford the child support and alimony.................

Yeah, I am the anti-marriage poster boy! ;-)

Man, Maggie you keep me rolling......................
  • well that is nice. I am glad that he met someone.
Maybe we will start seeing her at the track instead of mom, huh!!!
  • Carl Edwards is engaged. Congrats Carl!
  • i guess him, his wife, and mom will live a happy life together!!
  • who's the lucky guy?
  • To who his mom?? ROFL.. *kidding* Congrats Carl!!
  • I had not heard that yet. Congrats to Carl :D Everyone deserves happiness in their lives :D
  • Congrats to Carl. My sympathies to his wife-to-be. Unless she wants to spend half her life with his mom, she will have a difficult life.

    *JUJU*
  • Congrats to them both! He seems like a nice guy.
  • Congrats! He is engaged to Dr.Katherine Downey.

  • Congrats to Carl!
  • DARN, off the market? haha, jk.

Congrats to Carl!22 inch rim site
  • Is "Jeff Gordon's Gay", gay?

    May be...

  • That is funny. I think he is confused, but he sure does have a pair of ba!ls by parading around as Jeff Gordon is Gay for this long. Some of his answers and question are so dumb they are actually funny.

Maggie I’ll help you spank Lenny.

I think fluffy may be on to something.....

    storm
  • I am sorry nation but I have been dying to post this..........I think that is the only type of question that he can seem to post.............I am quite sure I will get spanked for this and probably deleted but I had to do it.......Sorry for taking the step down!!
  • actually he's a school kid, with a learning disability. His father is an alcoholic and he passed on a very weak male gene. This fellow is seeking out acceptance as friendship as he doesn't fit in well with his classmates (when he attends school) He forces his way into the NASCAR section and preys on our generosity. We must continue to answer his questions to keep him at home on his computer, so he doesn't venture out into the three dimensional public where he could harm innocent people. He's not really gay, just severely emotionally impaired.
  • OH come on.... this poor guy.... his imaginary girl friend(or boy friend) left him. He has carpal tunnel syndrome from playing video games, so his sex life is now non-existent. Somebody stole his Mr. Spock ears and he can't find his Nerd's Guide to Star Wars films.... so geez, cut him some slack...
  • No just looking for attention.

    Seems to be working.

He answers some questions seriously but then every now and then answers one in a way that reminds you of his screen name.

I think he really is a Nascar fan but wants to stand out from the crowd.
  • Yeah, he seems pretty happy to me.

"I feel pretty, oh so pretty..."
  • i think he should be banned for life, he contributes zero to a forum that should be informative and fun. i think he would like to be a driver so he would stand a chance of sitting on the pole. i hunt fugitives for a living, and if jg wants to ruin his life for the slander i will volunteer to hunt him down and bring him to justice. the punitive damages would be unreal.
  • yes
  • I've said this for a long time...

    He is gay!
  • yes he is
  • yes..absolutely
  • I agree with Winter. I have seen good questions and answers from him so it isn't impossible for him participate decently. I think he might be having inner turmoil with his own sexuality.

Now bend over so you can get your spanky.
  • I have to admit that on occasion, JGG does get a giggle out of me. Out of no where, in the middle of some pretty serious answers, up will pop something like, "Nah, he's gay" and I can't help but laugh. If you let him get to you, then he's accomplished his goal. He usually doesn't attack members. Just Jeff. So I consider him harmless. Immature, but harmless.
  • he has to be- theres no way around it
  • Haha Maggie. That is Funny.

I'm pretty sure sooner rather than later, The Jeff Gordon's Gay person will come out of the closet.

But for now he can dream of his wildest thoughts.

EDIT:Woah Lenny you got a Tag Team Spanking haha
  • Leave him alone. Let him have his school boy crush. When Gordon retires, it'll be someone else.
  • I think it's a pretty funny song
  • Oh yeah.
He thinks if he says Jeff Gordon's gay often enough, that little fantasy of his will come true for him.

It's too bad, I've actually seen him post legitimate questions, and give legitimate answers, he could be a respected member of NASCAR Nation if he'd quit trolling around with the gay questions.
  • People who are peoccupied with gayness have to have some serious inner sexual turmoil. He's probably gay himself and very conflicted, confused and angry.
  • ROFLMAO. These answer's are priceless :D

In answer to your question: He seems to be overly obsessed and they always say that people who accuse other people of being gay are hiding it themselves.hp rebate coupons

How do you like ryan newmans car for 2009?

    May be...

  • COOL
  • pretty sweet, it could have a bit more color to it though.
  • Looks great. I like the camoflage which is an upgrade from the current scheme
  • The car looks good!
  • I think it's very cool and the best part - It's a Chevy.
  • The car looks great, but the only thing that looks odd is the number 39. It just don't look right without the 01. How would you say their logo now? An Army of 39? It will just take some getting used to.
  • Its cool,Its cool '09's gonna be awesome
  • i'm not that impressed. Ryan couldn't impress me in the #12 car and I thought that car was better than this one. I like Ryan Newman but... No one will ever look as cool as Mark Martin did or does in the #8 Army car. They should stick Tony in that Army car. Now that would be hot!
  • I like it--- a lot. I hope they run some races with the whole car painted camoflauge. Or better yet, they should paint a racetrack and other racecars on Newman's car for the camoflauge effect.
  • I kind of wish the whole car was camouflage. Not just the trim.
  • it could be better
  • It's purty. Camo trim looks much better than the DEI stripe on it... feels more proper. Sorry to say that...
  • I love i was wondering when someone was going to do something with the splitter i like it i hope and tony do good next year

i think the car looks meanturbo 325i
  • Well does he stand a chance this weekend?

    May be...

  • Well, if you are talking about Alonso, he cannot be World Champion this year.

If you are talking about Kubica, I think the team gave him good support both this year and last year.

If you are referring to Massa, I think the team gave him good support last year.

If you are talking about Hamilton, the problem is not the team; the problem is that he is thinking with his oversized balls (as he said in Spa and proved in Fuji) and not his head
  • I sure hope you are asking about Jr. In my book he always has a chance.
    Go #88
  • Who?!
  • I guarantee he will definitely win this weekend. It sure as hell wont be her anyway.

    :o)
  • Who you on about buddy, yourself in that case then the chance is good for you, if your on about Lewis Hamilton then I hope not, he is a good driver/brilliant driver but I HATE and I mean HATE his attitude.
  • Everyone in the race stands a chance. :)
  • Tyler, what is wrong with his attitude?
he wants to win, and will with no more mistakes.
at leastt this year, this is no fernando alonso ruining things for him.
  • Yes, if he can keep his head
  • i agree with Tyler D , hamilton is an brilliant and really good driver but for his attitude.
And if he has his old tactics in action then i doubt.Kimi and Massa are all fired up, Kubica too doesnt want any stone unturned in his quest for championship and Alonso said he will help massa win c'ship..so its gonna be damn difficult for hammy....also he's created many unwanted enemy's in the paddock...sync issues outlook 2003
  • What needs to happen Sunday for Lewis Hamilton to be guaranteed winning the F1 Drivers Championship?

    May be...

  • He's five points ahead of Massa so all he needs is to score six more points than the Brazilian to increase the lead to 11 and Massa will not win the championship even if he wins in Brazil.
  • he needs to finish 6 points ahead of Massa, and within 1 point of Kubica. This will ensure he is at least 11 points ahead going into the last race.
  • Maximum point for a victory is 10 points. Hamilton is 5 points ahead now. So he will need to outscore Massa by 6 points this weekend to put the result beyond doubt.

An example would be if he wins (10 pts)in Shanghai and Massa is placed 5th (4pts). If Hamilton is 2nd (8pts) then Massa must be 7th (2pts). If Hamilton is 3rd (6pts), then Massa must finish out of the points.

And he really needs to keep his cool.
  • It needs to rain lol

  • He needs Raiki tae finish 2nd to Massa,in both races.
I take it you are a Loser Hami fan,I would like it if Vettel had the same calibre of car as the top teams,no matter what that has been the best thing that's happened since Schumacher left.
  • If Massa doesn't finish then Hamilton needs to score 6 points or more, so 3rd place or better.

Massa crashing into Kubica would be nice for Lewis!

I am pretty sure this will go down to the last race and Massa will score more than Hamilton in China and so it will be very close and very exciting!

    Hamilton needs a wet race!

(If Hamilton scores 5 points that gives him a 10 point lead. If Massa wins in Brazil and Hamilton scores 0, then Massa would still win the title although equal on points, he's won more races)
  • Hamilton needs to score 6 points more then Massa, and no more then 2 less then Kubica. There are lots of different ways that this could happen:

If Hamilton wins, he will be champion as long as Massa doesn't finish in the top 4.

If Hamilton finishes 2nd, he will be champion as long as Massa isn't in the top 6.

If Hamilton finished 3rd, he will be champion as long as Massa doesn't score and Kubica doesn't win.

That's it basically. It will likely go down to the final race, unless Massa has a problem of some kind.
  • Based on last year, I just cannot see Hamilton finishing the race, and if he does, it will be behind Massa.
As I see it, he went into the last race thinking "I must win ... I must win ..." instead of thinking "I have won ... I have won ....". I'm afraid Ferrari out thought Lewis, and I think all the lectures from Ron will mean very little.gresham hyde park hotel london uk

Who Else Enjoyed the old NASCAR Starting Line Up on FOX?

    May be...

  • Yes, I love the song and wish FOX would show the entire season. I can't stand ABC/ESPN coverage.
Favorite moment of all time....Cale Yarborough vs The Allisons Daytona 1979. Or the day that Dale Sr finaly won the Daytona 500. I still get goosebumps when I think about that, let alone when I see a video of it.
  • yes, I do miss that I loved it.
    I really miss this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlWXF4fkQ...
I was at that race. It was the first race after 9/11 and they handed out American flags along with flags for the race to every fan. I still have mine. Dale Jarrett, Ricky Rudd, and Joe Nemecheck all had flags on their hoods, and Ken Schrader's car was a flag. Dale Jr won the race that day btw.
What was my favorite race of all time. Jeremy's first win at Pocono in 98, his win in Pocono 2000 with the bump and run on Dale Sr, and his Richmond win to get into the chase, ive never seen him as happy as he was that night (not to say I didn't love his other 2 wins also, because I did), and Brians 06 Dega win that he dedicated to Ricky as soon as he got out of the car.
  • Woah! Brings back a lot of memories from '04 and '05..
    WOW!
    Thanks...
Love hearing Mike Joy's voice and that theme music every Sunday..
Gave me that kinda feeling that I still remember today... it's a weird but ... good feeling..

    Favorite race?
There's not really one...[all really just the ones that Jeff won]
    ....ummm...
Those two consecutive Aaron's 499 he won in '04 and '05..
Remember how good of a car he had..
Those are the days of NASCAR I cherish the most..
Nowadays, the ESPN crew are not memorable.. They're boring..
    The FOX crew are fun...
  • theres alot i miss about WINSTON CUP
  • I sure did. I miss that song.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivQEsBqgn...

(Just Watch the Starting Line Up and Listen to the Music in the BackGround)

This is also for Tom G haha. Elliott on Pole.

What was/ is your Favorite Race of All time?
  • yha

my fav race of all tme was the 98 daytona 500
  • Wow, that is pretty cool thanks for that.

Favorite race had to be 1998 when Earnhardt won his 1st Daytona 500. That race is burned into my memory forever, talk about a tear jerker.

    RIP Intimidator.
  • I miss that so much. 2003 was my first season as a full-time fan and I loved it. I have the whole season on tape. That's a terrible picture of Elliott, lol. Good to see him on the pole though. My favorite race of all time is that race, Ricky Craven and Kurt Busch dueling like crazy.
  • I did as well. My fav race was 1992 Hooters 500 with Elliott winning an awesome race!
NBC I think did the worst coverage of NASCAR in the history of the sport.
  • I sure did too, and I have to say GB summed it up pretty good with just two words - WINSTON CUP.
  • Yeah, me too. I liked it.

My favorite race of all time, that's a tough one. If I had to pick just one I might have to go with July 7. 2001 when Dale Jr won the pepsi 400 first time back to Daytona after his Dad got killed. Besides it being a very emotional and exciting race, that was the last seemingly halcyon endless summer before Sept. 11 and the world will never be the same again.
  • I miss Fox.
  • Thanks for the memories! Spencer and Nadeau in the 2nd row, with Elliot on the pole. Wow! Fave race of all time: 1998 Daytona, when Dale Sr. (R.I.P.) finally won the elusive 500. It was a great day in history!

    *JUJU*
  • That's cool ,I miss those days with Fox . My favorite races were the 97 and the 98 Daytona 500's. 97 My boy won ,98 The Intimidator won !
  • Yep. I miss that song too. I recall how excited I would get as soon as that strted playing and you knew the race was coming. I didn't see that particular race though. After Dale Sr. passed away I couldn't watch racing for a long while.

I don't really have a very favorite...there are many sleepers though. I guess the one that comes to mind is the 1998 Daytona 500 when Sr. won it.destinator gps patch
  • What is the world? A waffle maker!?

    May be...

  • LOL!!!! I love that commercial too. Funny, funny stuff. NASCAR commercials are always hysterical.
  • I like it but the original Geico commercial with Warren Wallace is still my favorite. I know it gets replayed too much but it's a classic. The new one with the "panel of experts" is awesome too. "Maybe you should try a new girlfriend?"
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • I don't get why it's so funny.
But Elliott's not too hard on the eyes.

I'm a healthy heterosexual woman, what can I say?
  • ha ha
    lol thats cute!
I dont think i've ever seen that one til know!
  • It is one of my favorites. Another good one is the one mentioned by Trego. I laugh every time Happy says, "try a new girlfriend".
  • Yeah, it's kool. If I were him, I'd have to shoot somebody for waking me up like that!

    *JUJU*
  • gosh i love that commerical its hilarious
how can you not love elliott and rutledge wood together LMAO!
gotta love the sleep mask and stuffed bunny to LMAO
  • You people sure have a strange sense of humour, I'm still trying to figure out what's so funny.Of course being a Nascar fan could have something to do with it.
  • Treego, the "try a new girlfriend" is my favorite; I laugh out loud everytime!

  • yep cool
  • Ahhh Thats a Great Commercial!!

    My favorite is this One!

Who else loves this commercial? It's my favorite.
  • yep. elliot is so cute first thing in the morning. :0)
  • LOL! I forgot about that one. Elliots hilarious and Rutledge is just crazy. But my current favorite is still the new Team Tylenol one with JJ, JG, Elliot, and Harv. And all the coke racing family commercials are always great. My all time favorite: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eppXc-OOP...
  • I think he might have been implying he was going to eat before he went anywhere ... LOL
  • That's supposed to be funny?
  • LOL, thats a good one Pres, I had forgot about that one. What a pair Rutledge and Elliott make. :)
  • It's a good one, One of my favorite's toosoupfaerie net
  • Nascar Nation....Check this out?

    May be...

  • Not a Nascar Guy but checked it out anyway. Pretty messed up on his part to do that.
  • Link does not work
  • Thanks for pointing the question out. I thought Maggie had a great and fun question!

    This is the question.
  • Spell check could be his #1 friend.................They can move it around any way they want...............the DVR is my best friend!!!

    He is "Sports challenged"
  • I'm sad now =( I can't click the link

EDIT: All I have to say is One Thing NASCAR RULES!
  • Well, the way it sounded, the OTHER person wanted NASCAR to be put in, and football taken out, which is absolutely ridiculous.

NASCAR shouldn't even be considered a real sport. In football, you actually have to DO something besides turn a freakin wheel left over and over again.
  • yep
i went ahead and let him know what i thought of him
  • The link don't work!!! Please fix it, we want to see it!!
  • I can't believe that that's funny boy he wants his cake and eat it too huh? Wants to play the part of a Nascar fan then wants to tear us down, good one LOL Doesn't he understand we could have both and be fans of both Nascar and football?
  • I found this question and thought you might be interested.

    http:answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

    I found it amusing. :)
  • Since there are many networks out there, why can't we have both NASCAR and football? Then you just have to choose...I know, some of you can't. For me, there would be no choice...NASCAR Rules in my house. Problem is, I would be in the kitchen cooking big family dinner for 20-25 people all day. Kinda hard to "watch" a race, but I'd figures out something. Maggie has the right idea.

  • The link you posted didn't show the full address. You'll need to go back to the question and copy the link from the top of the page (in the address bar) and then paste it in your question.

Also be sure to make it in the form of a question :)
  • that's not a helpful link.
  • what's the question? you can't click on the link
  • I'm dyyyying to know...what is it??? I want to be amused too!!!

OMG that was MY question and it was all in fun!! No wonder some people got so many thumbs down.

We were having a good time with it and nobody is trying to do anything.
  • That traitor!!! That was very classy of him, wasn't it.booklands
  • Dale Earnhardt or Richard Petty?

    May be...

  • As much as i like Earnhardt, It is STILL Richards title!
  • Not even close- Richard Petty is the King. If Earnhardt were here, he'd tell you the same thing. 200 wins says a bunch. The one stat that blows me away is 7 (yes 7) Daytona 500 victories. That's impressive. Petty still had to race against drivers like David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, and Bobby Allison, to name just a few. Petty also holds many records in Nascar to this day, many of which will remain unbroken. I don't care how much money you have and how talented your race team is, 10 wins in a row is amazing.
  • You are exactly right......................#3 was the best ever!!
  • Back in Petty's day they raced twice a week sometimes three so it is hard to say but King Richard did give us this and Dale improved it.
  • Richard Petty
  • I am surprised that I haven't seen this question on here before, but here goes.

Who do you think deserves the title "King of NASCAR"?

    Here is my view:

I know that Richard Petty has 200 wins and Earnhardt had 76 and that they both won seven championships, but I think Dale Earnhardt is the true King of NASCAR because:

Back in Petty's day, there weren't as many rules in NASCAR to limit what you brought to the track. If you could afford to build an engine that had 100 more HP than what everyone else(or most)could afford, then you could bring it and smoke the field.
The Petty's had more money than most of the teams back then and, therefore, dominated.
-During most of Earnhardt's time, the rules were implemented and things were on a more level playing field.
So,I feel that Petty's 200 wins and 7 championships are overrated and(I know it's hard to compare drivers from different eras, but I am trying) don't think he would have had half as much success if he and Dale started racing at the same time.

NOTE: I realize that teams with more money/resources these days can afford to buy better equipment for the shop and the rigs they bring to the track and all of that, but everyone still works within the same tolerances and with the same parts and bodies.

To me,Dale Earnhardt is the King of NASCAR....who is to you and why?
  • richard petty is the best. no one wil;l evre get close to his records because other drivers retire to early with their MILLLIONS!!!!
  • Definitely Dale, Richard also drove in an era with several races a week. If I had 100 extra HP and races every other day, I could make it to 200 wins. Dale was the man, plain and simple.
  • Richard Petty . Remember when he was racing and it started to became televised it was only three Networks back then.. If he didn't do what he did it would not have attracted the fans, sponsors or the networks. HE was critical in laying down the foundations for what it has become today.
  • If I had been born 20-25 years earlier, I might say Richard Petty. But I wasn't so in my mind Dale Sr. wasn't just "The King" of NASCAR, He was NASCAR.
  • Petty's team had the money because he won the money in a NASCAR that did not have that great of sponsorship cash unlike today where majority of teams money comes from sponsors not winning. I do agree that DAL would have done good in Petty's days because he was a determined driver that wanted to win not a clone like the majority of drivers today who just want finish and get points.
One thing Dale and Richard had in common was fact neither had a son who became as near great as they were.
  • Richard Petty!
  • Dale Earnhardt all the way!!!!
  • Dale Earnhart hands down!
  • Dale Earnhardt raced back in the day when there weren't so many rules and regulations. The teams with the most money still continue to win today. No difference there. Petty keeps the King of Nascar status in my book.
  • Dale Earnhardt Sr.sports car prototype
  • Has anyone seen the Davey Allison 90 minute special?

    May be...

  • No I haven't. But since I know where it is now I will be. Thanks.
  • I am watching this thing now and am in ABSOLUTE TEARS! Davey would have been a racing legend. I remember being at Dega the day he had his helicopter crash... it was a sad day for the world of NASCAR! being able to relive his life and see the memories that so many of us know gives me a renewed pride in the sport of NASCAR!

Have you seen this special? if so what do you think?

I have comcast cable and its on the free movies in the ONDEMAND section.
  • I haven't seen it yet and I don't have the ability to as I don't have comcast or ondemand. However, I do agree with you that he would be a great driver if he were still alive. I can't remember him as I was 6 when he passed away and not into NASCAR quite yet, but my dad remembers and I have seen/read/heard enough to know that he would of been great.
  • I havent seen it yet, but thanks for the heads up... And, yes, I definitely agree with you. Davey Allison would be right up there with the Jeff Gordons, Jeff Burtons, and Mark Martins... A great driver, and a respected veteran if he were still alive today...wmdc
  • How about a NASCAR race on Thanksgiving Day? ?

    May be...

  • i would like to watch football rather more

football has more fans and truly is a fast game im sorry but nascar doesnt have the fans and nascar is exciting but most people dont find the suspense in it and the excitment so no
  • Yeah that would be awesome. I love watching cars go around in circles for hours on end. What a great idea. Just shoot me in the head.
  • no football or racing but how about maggie the reborn rebel making me a cherry pie. ha ha ha.
  • Racing on turkey day is hazardous to the drivers. See the turkeys all know what day it is so they move to the city where shooting guns is illegal in an attempt to save theirs feathers. What they don't know is that cars going 195 mile per hour can make them loose their feathers also and be dangerous to the drivers. Have you ever hit a buzzard doing 60 mph? I have. We didn't have any window tear-offs either...!!!

Nah .. they need a break. That's probably the only time when the question "How do drivers go to the bathroom when driving?" is actually a serious question. After eating a big turkey dinner I'm sure they will need to make several trips to the bathroom ... LOL
  • That's a fantastic idea, however I don't think the drivers would like it. Run the idea by them Maggie and see what they say....lol
  • I say they all have a big drivers and families dinner

then they have an All star type race

    but at what track??????????????????????/
  • I know all about drivers wanting to spend time with their families and having dinner etc...but don't football players???
I mean we have the big Macy's Day parade and other sports so why not after dinner sit down to a great race?? Who would like that instead of football??

    Me.
  • I know what your talking about. I would love for them to race 52 weeks a year but thats not gonna happen. Great idea!
  • it's tradition. While that may be cool, I'm a football fan, and I'm open to that. It's unrealistic though. Too many huge football fans that love to see the Lions get pummeled over turkey and cranberry sauce
  • I think that would be nice. a charity race. The turkey 200. they eat after they race though. it could just be a fun race.
    Good idea
  • I would love it. But not going to happen. At best the friday after.
  • anything but football
let the crew cheifs race or something
turkey eating contest between the tire changers
  • I think the day after would be cool. Cuz they too need to stay home and enjoy Turkey Day.
  • I love that idea I'd love to sit down to a race after some good ol' home cooking with my family but it could get rather scary cause alot of us root for different drivers and it could turn into a knock down drag out family gathering LOL
  • Anything would be better then watching the Lions. Soap Box derby would be more exciting.
  • Well It would rock! but you see they probably like being with there family. and that is after the regular season.. of nascar so it'd like.. idk they'd have to like not start the season til later or make it longer but it would be cool
  • That would be awesome !
  • That would be awesome! It would make a great long holiday weekend!

In 2001, because of 9/11, they ran the New Hampshire race on 11/23 which was on Friday after Thanksgiving. They were worried about snow, but it turned out to be a balmy day in the 50's. I've been to spring Bristol races colder than that! LOL!

If Nascar would extend the season another couple of weeks, they could run it in Homestead like they do the last race now and give Kentucky and Rockingham the races they deserve. Nice and toasty warm in Miami in November!

EDIT: Sorry to have brought up bad memories, Maggie. That wasn't my intention.

I think the thumbs downers are Thanksgiving Scrooges.
  • Personally I love the idea, but it wouldn't work in my family we are used to watching the Lions lose on Thanksgiving, kind of a tradition. LOL!
  • Maggie, Maggie, Maggie..

    Guess what?

That would not be a bad idea..

  • HELL NO!!! GIANTS ALL THE WAY BABY ALL THE WAY!!!
  • no way football is way better if you really want to see cars driving go outside and watch the road
  • It wouldn't be a bad idea. I always like the thought of Nascar becoming an every week race year round. I'm a bigger Nascar fan than in football but America's favorite sport on Thanksgiving is football. I could see the race run at Daytona.

What's your problem football fans. Everybody who gives thumbs down on saying Nascar is not an American sport is ghetto and screwed up.
  • I feel really bad for the 4 teams that play football EVERY year on thanksgiving they NEVER get to spend it with their families.

No, I don't like this idea, I don't like any sports occuring on Thanksgiving Day. It is a day to give thanks and enjoy a big meal with your family. Let the athletes have that to.blue tooth virtual serial port

What will happen if Dale Junior decides to retire?

    May be...

  • why is he the only driver or the only driver with fans? bandwagon fans are fickle. they will hitch their wagon to another.
  • The other drivers would keep racing and there would be plenty of "young guns" to fill the open seats. And yes Jr. will retire someday.
  • stands will be fuller since fans know the idiots of JR nation will not be throwing beer bottles
  • the world continues to turn and races will continue
  • Not a darn thing. I know this will surprise a lot of people, but NASCAR was around long before any Earnhardt got behind the wheel of a racecar and will still be around when they are gone from the scene. The fans will find another driver to cheer for. Cheering for JR is a habit for a lot of folks, one they will replace with another when he is gone.
  • Hopefully... for you and his fans? His lil brother will be waiting in the shadows!!
I wondered the same thing about FORD,as a whole, when Robert Yates retired.
But Doug seems to have a handle on things
  • He will assume role as a full time team owner and people like Harvick, Stewart, and Junior will be your future team owners of NASCAR. The stands will be packed (depending on economy) and Jeffrey Earnhardt will be to new Dale Jr. (2010)
  • All of the fans, well, all of the TRUE fans would end up picking another driver and move on. Now there might be a riot at first from Jr deciding to retire at like 34 but Nascar would survive.
  • If they leave when Jr. crashes, they are not true fans.

If he retires, which I'm sure he will someday, NASCAR will just continue on. Hell, Bill Elliott retired (???) Mark Martin retired 3 times, KING RICHARD retired, Dale Sr. died, and they still race.

Ther is no big E, or little e in NASCAR.
  • Sure, life, and NASCAR would go on. It would suck for awhile, cuz of course, Dale is so popular. But someone else's popularity will rise and take his place.
  • life will go on, Nascar will go on.

When he is not making races and finishing last, people will throw him under the bus, too.
  • Nascar will motor along just fine. If and when he retires one day there will be someone else come in and take his place. I really believe Nascar could survive without Dale Jr. Its lasted this long and it will be around for a very very long time.
  • wel it would give other fans another chance to go to a race u have to admit as jr fans that he isnt the only driver out there and not the only fans out there

  • That happens a a lot of race tracks, if Dale Jr, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart DNF's yes a lot of people do start to leave. Well I think we have another 8-10 yrs for Dale Jr... There will be another Earnhardt out there by then Jeffrey is on his way probably in 2-3 yrs. But everyone will find another driver to cheer for. I do have about 5 or 6 that I cheer for

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I don't see that happening for a long time but when it does everything will be ok.
  • NASCAR will be just fine.

(though when Big E passed away I couldn't watch NASCAR for two years).
  • NASCAR fans won't be afraid to attend the races anymore and have to worry about Jr. nation talking trash about them and who they cheer for. The stands would be packed so the real race fans can come watch, and not worry about which driver they cheer for. People still watched when Dale Sr. died, and those fans went to Jr. Now when Jr. retires they will go somewhere else and make a new driver most popular. Some of them should quit watching all together, though.
  • Now I know he dosnt have any plans in the near future to retire. But I heard on Victory Lane this week that when Junior crashed out at CHarlotte, the stands started to empty out fast.
Now if Junior ever decides to retire what do you think will happen????freeware backgammon palm
  • OK ANYONE ELSE SICK OF JEFF GORDONS GAY?

    May be...

  • Ya gotta laugh or just ignore him. he isn't going away. yes the jef Gordon's gay person is a Jeff Gordon fan. he is a fan in a way that the real Jeff Gordon wouldn't want. Jeff Gordon's Gay is gay and wants the real Jeff Gordon.

Jeff Gordon is married to a beautiful woman and they have a beautiful child. Jeff and Ingrid, when he isn't driving and the baby is napping, probably all but knock the house down. Lucky girl.
  • i'm not sick of him
    i think he sucks- literally
  • Then ignore his questions. Personally, he doesn't bother me.

I know Jeff is straight, but he obviously don't like Jeff or Jimmie.
He expresses it in his own way trying to ruffle some feathers. But he does have some very good point of views on some questions he has answered. Just some of his questions will raise an eyebrow.
  • Nah,I have to have someone to amuse me ;)
  • THE GUYS GETTING ON MY LAST NERVE WITH THESE QUESTIONS

    why is jeff gordon gay?
why does jeff gordon do this?
    what do u think
  • Yes, I am not really sick of him..

    He just goes against JG

  • I just laugh at him cause we all know Jeff Gordon isn't gay and that he is married and has a beautiful baby girl so do what I do and just laugh at him and move on
  • i love jeff gordon.
  • Ahh he just is playing around. i hope. No he gives me a good laugh from time to time. DOsnt bother me at all.
  • I HATE THAT GY HES AN IDIOT I ANSWERED HIS QUESTION ABOUT WHY THEY CHEAT YOU DID AS WELL AND HERE WAS MY ANSWER

OKAY LOOK YOUA RE AN IDIOT YOU ARE PROBALBY A PISSED OF KYLE BURSH FAN. JOHNSON DOESNT NEED TO CHEAT TO WIN AND GORDON IS HAVING A BAD YEAR YEAH ITS NOT THE GREATEST BUT ITS STILL GOOD EVEN WITHOUT A WIN AND LAST TIME I CHECKED JOHNSON WAS WINNING HE CHASE SO YOU HAVE NO FACTS TO PROVE ANY OF THIS
  • Nope.
  • I think everyone should get off Jeff's back its obvious the only reason the gay rumors started was because of the Sr. fans. Now that Jr. is with Hendrick Motors everyone is rooting for Jr. All you haters should be happy Jeff hasn't won all year and thats tough to say for me because I am a big fan of Gordon and the Dupont Chevrolet. But remember the chase isnt over!! 24!
  • No he just wishes Jeff Gordon was gay so he could sleep with him...His questions don't bother me...I just laugh everytime I read one
  • Jeff Gordon is gay. Jeff Gordon is straight. Either way, does it really matter? If you like him or you don't like him, he deserves our respect as a 4 time Cup Champion. He is not one of my favorites, but I respect his ability.nice fun
  • Wendell Scott...Can someone clear this up for me?

    May be...

  • I see dead people...
  • Wendell Scott had a son named Wendell Scott Jr
    http://www.drivefordiversity.com/theprog...

    also some more kids named
Frank, Ann, Deborah, Kay, Sybil, and Michael
  • I thought he died too, I hope somebody has the right answer. But all I know is that Tiffany Daniels is HOT!!
  • I am guessing his son also. He is pictured on nascar.com and listed as Jr. in the caption.
  • Yes, he did die. That's his son Wendell Jr in the photos.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Take a look at this photo

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/photo;_yl...

    The caption reads:

"SOUTH BOSTON, VA - OCTOBER 13: Tiffany Daniels talks with Wendell Scott during the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine at South Boston Speedway on October 13, 2008 in South Boston, Virginia."

I thought Wendell Scott died of cancer in 1990, which would make it difficult for him to attend the NASCAR Drive for Diversity Combine. That picture looks like him. I know he had a son named Wendell. Can someone set me straight on this?delta privilege program

    Whats wrong with jr.?

    May be...

  • He's been running fine...hes just had mechanical problems... Dover... cut tire... Talladega... strongest car... gets in someone else's wreck. Lowe's... Running top 5-7, cuts a tire. He should have won a couple more races.. but overall its been a good season. Nothing is wrong with him. No one is saying "Whats wrong with Denny Hamlin, or Matt Kenseth, or Kevin Harvick"
  • I wasn't expecting him to win the championship this year. He is under alot of pressure. He did what I wanted him to do and make the chase.
He has ran good all year long but struggles in the end, they need to work on that for next year.
No I do not think is overrated.
  • don't think anything is wrong with Jr, he's having a better year than last year...
  • i'm a fan of jr. but yeah he is kind of overrated.
  • NA$CAR didnt give him his best chance at a championship, Rick did. He's in his first year at the stable, I would have to say that he's doing pretty good. As far as being an over rated driver, he's far from it, Casey Mears and David Stremme are what I would consider over rated drivers.

Now if tires blowing, getting caught up in someone elses mess is an indication that something is wrong with Jr, than you have a ton to learn about NA$CAR.

Each driver has his own driving style, I read a comment about him riding the rim of the track. Some of the greatest drivers in NA$CAR would ride the rim of the track and were very successful at it, Jr himself has been successful with it.

As far as Jr bringing his "bad habits" with him to HMS, just because the guy has other interest outside the car, doesnt mean that he doesnt focus on his career. A lot of drivers have interest outside the car, Jeff Gordon in his prime started Action with Dale Earnhardt. Carl Edwards has his music stuff, Tony Stewart has his tracks. There's nothing wrong with it.

I also get tired of hearing that Tony Jr is a thorn and is what is holding Jr back. Tony is a great crew chief and him and Dale will start hitting their stride and make a great championship run. My predication is next year.

My expectations as a Jr fan has been met this year, if he doesnt do anything next year, then I'll start being a little more critical, but in the end, he could finish 43 in the standings and it really doesnt matter to me, because I just like Dale Jr. IMO, regaurdless of your driver, that is what makes a fan.
  • a rating is a rating. And "we the people" can rate anyway we want.
And that I will agree on.
  • He seems to have trouble driving anywhere on the track and ends up going to the top where he hits the wall or has a flat tire. He needs to learn to drive the car anywhere on the track like Kyle Busch seems to do,and get better at avoiding wrecks.
  • NO TALENT
  • You can put any product in a package and say new and improved but have the same results. Thus Junior is the package.
He came to Hendrick as the media king, the championship contender , and he is.But he brought his habit's from DEI.
He is too involved with interest away from the track and does not concentrate on the event.
Then he keeps Tony Jr as crew chief, which there is nothing wrong with family loyalty, but Tony Sr was the brains and both Juniors have a ways to go.
Junior took the media by storm when he announced he was leaving DEI and he played up to it and showed some brief periods of being a top contender but would let himself get caught up at the wrong place at the wrong time.
  • He quit drinking!!
  • Just think about the pressure that he is under to win a championship....I think right now he is trying to drive his car a little too hard and pressing too much...........He can forget about it this year but I firmly believe he will do much better in his 2nd year.

I am totally happy with what he has accomplished in this stable of drivers..............

I will never say that Jr is the greatest driver ever (not even close) but really get sick of people saying that he can't drive. He has 18 career victories including 6 victories in 2004 where he finished 5th in the points. In 2003 he only won 2 races but finished 3rd overall...........Kyle Petty has been racing for nearly 20 years on the circuit but only has 8 wins but Jr. is the one that every one like to harp on about "riding on his daddy's name"............Dale Jr also won 2 consecutive titles in the Busch (Nationwide) series and I guess some poeple would argue that his Dad won that for him too.........I realize that many folks will never change their opinion of Dale Jr and will "hate: forever but the guy has some pretty good career numbers and as they say.........numbers do not lie.

    HATE ON BABY, it's ok............................

KK,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you are an idiot, plain and simple (minded)

R 4 Roberto................Uh, NO you are NOT a Jr. fan if you make that kind of statement; trust me on that one.
  • ok now that nascar gave jr his best chance for a championship and he was in the strongest organization out there do we all finally agree he is way overated !!!!!!!!!acapulco club en gay gro

    Fernando Alonso..........,?

    May be...

  • Alonso showed the many doubters why he's the best driver in the world today. His second stint was absolutely unbelievable. Hamilton lost it under pressure again, which made for a great race.
  • Ive never been a fan until now..2 in a row (a fluke?), I havent seen the race yet but, you all have been talkin about some shadey calls...
Anyways... did Fernando Alonso race a good race or not?? I'd like to see Alonso and Breatore at the top again or for that matter Honda and Toyota. Really sick of this Hamilton guy, what a brat (just my opinion).
Life was so good when Kimi was at MC. Was it an OK race anyway?
  • The first race was maybe a littly down to luck because of the safety car thing coming out.( the safety car comes out when there is something dangerous on the track.(in this case it was because of the piquet crash) and it always packs everything up and nobody can overtake). Fernando was in the pit when the safety came out so he missed it and came out on front. And today he just drove a really good race and kept his head cool and used every bit of his experience. But yea dont like hamilton one bit. He's the glory boy all over.He never even experienced a low power car cus he just went straight into a mclaren. Great race from Fernando. It was a really gud race. Good skill and entertainment.
  • Alonso drove the best today, he was the fastest for most of the rce till Kimi woke up near the end, won't spoil it until you've seen it.
  • You aren't alone in your opinion of Hamilton. McLaren backed the wrong man last year.
  • Yes, Fernando did a brilliant job today! I will be watching it again in just a little under an hour from now! ;)

  • Alonso did a great race in Japan and also in Singapore
  • he was flawless that race, i thought his done for but i guess i was wrong, he still got some gas left.. wait for him next season.
  • alonso is the best driver out there and the car is improving. even though some would say its down to luck i would disagree i think he used his determination and used his tactics and skill to show (:
  • Alonso drove like how Hamilton should have: Smart
He was very impressive and confident from the start of the race and the best man won. He must be feeling very comfortble back at Renault right now
Hamilton was letting his heart rule his head stupidly and, by his own admission, made some piss poor manoeuvres.where liver located
  • Did anyone else feel like Jeff Gordon had a good shot of winning at Charlotte until that last unneeded pit?

    May be...

  • Anyone running out front had the advantage. It was a bone head move once again by Letarte. Gordon did not recover even ONE position after that. Letarte is a moron. I'm not sure he even has opposable thumbs.... what an idiot..
If Gordon doesn't dump him, then he's a moron also.
  • Yup. He actually didn't need both of those last two 4-tire stops. Completely bizarre on Letarate's part. I have no emotion now on this subject... I have given up... I hoped so much... and all of it is down the drain..

I am very very disappointed and frustrated... :(
  • I think both Jeff's & Jr.'s crew chiefs have made a lot of bad calls of late and those calls are costing both drivers points & races. Makes you wonder what is going on?
  • Absolutely. He didn't need 4 tires. Oh well, another bad move.
  • That pit stop ended any chance he had at the win and shows how much LeFart has screwed everything up since he's been there. It's about time to make a crew chief change in the 24's garage.
  • Yeah, I think it would have been better to go with track position...fuel or two tires only. I'm not sure why they called for a four tire stop. Too bad really.
  • I don't think he was capable of winning with that car, but I was impressed that he got an 8'th place finish.garden weeder
  • How come Hamilton got the same penalty as Massa?

    May be...

  • Hamilton over defended, sh1t driving but penalty? Remember Montoya & Schumi did a similar thing at Austria 2001, f.ck all penalty.
As for Bourdais penalty, he was coming out of the pits, Massa had all the room and visibility, lucky, lucky boy

sorry for language but if the truth hurts ferrari fans, so be it
  • i agree FIA biasedness yet again. and Bordais penalty was just unfair, if anything Massa should have been the one to be penalised as Bordais was on the racing line.

  • he sent 4 cars off of the track (unintentionally)
  • Hamitlon and Massa did the same mistake, thats a fact
Massa did hit a car but he took out one man (happens to be a crying baby unfortunatly) Hamilton well lets see : Raikkonen, Heikki, Massa and Trulli! and maybe he didn't do it but he forced Heikki to hit Kimi! So Hamilton should have taken the heavier penalty!
  • hamilton did noting wrong he locked up his brakes and didnt give kimi room but that is normal at the begining
  • IMO Felipe should have been given a 10 second stop and go and Seb B shouldn't have been penalised at all, full stop. Its not just that Lewis lost more places, that could have caused a serious incident if other cars had hit Lewis when he was stuck on the middle of the track. that would have brought out the safety car and probably mucked up a few drivers races. I just don't get these stewards at all.
  • I guess they felt that Hamilton was trying to push his rival out of the way, but still it was harsh.
  • When Massa collided with Hamilton, Hamilton clearly conceded more places than when Hamilton forced Raikkonen, but Lewis got the same penalty!

I think F1 is turning into a bit of a farce. How did Bordais get a damn penalty when he had nowhere to go but to follow the racing line. Massa is such a little con artist it's unbelievable, if he wins the Championship i will be p!ssed off.

I am so fed up with the ignorant stewards, they give Hamilton a harsh penalty previously even though he gave the place back but when Massa causes Lewis to lose 18 places they give him the same penalty as Lewis for the first corner incident! Argggggh! What's going on?!
  • In my point of view,in the previous race when Hamilton was docked 2 places,he was behind by a larger margin when he spun out and gained a place. He did give Raikkonen his place back, but once the majority of Raikkonen's car was in front,Hamilton just raced ahead without going back to the original margin.

Seems to me you're being bias against Massa because Hamilton is British.
  • Two separate incidents.

McBrat ran Kimi off the road after Kimi took the lead from him. Call it overzealous, but McBrat blew it.

    Massa spun McBrat.

    Both were deserved penalties.

Bourdais getting a penalty for the touch between him an Massa when Seabass was coming out of the pits? BS. Where was Seabass supposed to go?

BTW: The race stewards DON'T WORK FOR THE FIA! You idiots.
  • F@@k the FIA. Ferrari Interntional Assistance.
  • i can see the case for it as lewis shot across in the first corner..
  • Don't blame Massa, blame Ferrari International Aid. Without them,Massa wouldn't have been able to gain so many edges.keyboard for zire 72
  • Do you think the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard in Indianapolis will be better next year.?

    May be...

  • You got to get a hold of GOODYEAR tire co.
  • It can't get any worse than this year's race, what a joke that was. I was embarrassed to be a fan. 10 laps, caution, 10 laps, caution. Horrible horrible horrible.
  • please say that the brickyard will be better than last year. it almost made me cry. such horror
  • they just went back up there and practiced 2 weeks ago with a different tire
  • Well seeing as how the drivers could barely drive to you house on four new tires this year ( exaggerating ), I would hope so. The real problem is NASCAR'S fault. They rushed this C.O.T. into full-time use. Goodyear didn't have enough time to develop a tire that will take the torture that is demanded of it.
  • I think it will if they get the tires right...
they did the best they could with the tires they had last year...

i live 10 miles from the track so i go to every race there.
  • Yeah I think it will be better if they get to practice,
the Indy cars practice all month, then race with rubber on the
track- the Nascar drivers had to race on a washed off track
this year,( I think they call it Green, but no rubber on it)
  • I honestly don't see how it could get any worse ! Maybe if they had to pit every 5 laps ! Hopefully goodyear can figure these tires out soon or let another company do it.
  • well, let's hope a little higher. ANYTHING would be better than this year. put all 43 drivers on big wheels and make them race one lap and that would be better than this year - just don't let goodyear provide the tires for the big wheels.

  • How much does a formula 1 racing car cost?

    May be...

  • With Development, millions.
  • i would love to know, i do know the steering wheel costs ВЈ20.000 with button control gear change.

  • CAN GORDON COME BACK!?

    May be...

  • He's done for this race and the Championship.

Just got his lap back. Maybe a top 15 hopefully.

Well look who is leading. I am glad he proved me wrong.
  • He may!!

He usually gets pretty lucky with the lucky dog awards! So he could come back for the race!

As for the championship, I think its basically between Jimmie Johnson Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle.
  • Finsihed 8th with a beat up car but should have finished in the top five if not a chance to win. Bad move pitting with 70 laps to go while running 2nd and would have assumed the lead when the 41 pitted. Hopefully he can end the winless streak although the team showed signs of getting closer.
  • He already has...
  • In this race? Probably not. In the Chase for the Cup? Not this year unfortunately. Hopefully 2009 will be a better year for him.

    *JUJU*
  • Concrete time!
  • no
  • Of course he can. He's Jeff Gordon. I don't care what anyone else says he's one of the best out there. He's been very unlucky but his skill could get him the championship. It will take a little bit but he can come back.
  • He got his lap back on the 2nd yellow flag. But why not on the first yellow when he was the only car a lap down? Why no lucky dog on the first yellow?
  • well, certainly probably not. But I would like to see him win one. Doesn't look like it will be tonight though.
  • Like Dale out of time for Jeff too. they can both start thinking about nesxt yearnow for sure...

I am off to watch the LSU game. Liked the paint scheme junebug. 2 for 2 at Charlotte and the wall.
