What's the 1 thing you like and dislike most about?

May be...

  • Like ~ He usually wrecks every weekend.

Dislike ~ When he wrecks he usually take someone I like out with him. Amd he comes off as being pompus, egotistical, & conceded.
  • Now he's one I definitely just don't like at all!!
  • Like--Races hard all the time
dislike--Wish he had a better ride..
more info---(also he is one hot latino)

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I like his competitiveness but he is arrogant and a jerk.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFnnwdler...
  • like: his smart choice to join NASCAR
    dislike: His BIG RED commercial

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • Juan Pablo Montoya
  • I like the way he talks

I dislike the way he races(SOMETIMES)
  • like: his determination and his sense of humor
dislike: that he didn't mix it up more with kenseth last year...
  • i Like how he....wait i don't like him either
  • like aggresive

    dislike , team
  • like: his courage (like i said before, it takes courage for a Hispanic former F1 driver to jump into NASCAR with both feet, but when you love racing as much as he does, that's what you do)

dislike: he can make some dumb a$$ moves...
  • Like that he has talent. Dislike his team.(3 crew chiefs in the past 5 weeks!)
  • The one thing I like is helping those in need. And what I dislike is people taking advantage of others.
  • like his everything
whats to dislike??? hes better than petty pearson gordon and dw combined

    JPM RULES!!!!
  • Like- his funny accent
    Dislike- too aggressive on track
  • Like- diversity

    Dislike- a little reckless
  • like... the juicy fruit and big red commercials....

    dislike...HIM
  • How long is silverstone? in miles if possible?

    May be...

  • 3.194 mi
  • the full circuit from start to finish, 1lap
  • 3.194 miles
  • there's different lenghts for different championships

The outer most circuit measures up as the one used in

F1 Grand Prix is 3.1940 Miles

Minor users of the circuit are

    International circuit 2.2490 Miles
    National circuit 1.6390 Miles
    Stowe circuit 0.7960 Miles

All these minor users have different circuits running in between the outer circuit hence all the differnt circuit mileage and pattern
  • Why does everone think Kyle Busch is the best?

    May be...

  • Because he is in first place in the Cup series means he is the best so far this year. He has 2 teammates who are at least as good but are not in first so this year he is the best SO FAR.
  • I'd just like to say, I've always thought he was the best..
    *reality*
    who "is" better??
    1-Jeff Gordon
    2-Jimmie Johnson
    3-Tony Stewart
    4-Kurt Busch
    5-Matt Kenseth
    6-Bobby Labonte
(they all have championships to prove it)

Kyle might be the best thus far this season, but I try to keep in mind he just turned 23 years old, until he gets a championship, he's not in the same league as the 6 mentioned above, give him time, there's not a doubt in my mind, Kyle will have multiple championships before his career is over.

He's definately the one to beat this year, though..
  • hes junk!!
  • at least this is not a JR thank goodness... KB is the baddazzz stepchild of NASCAR he just is... and # 88 stay out of the way.. JR is a primadonna.... just a wannabe... the only Kyle that is like JR is Kyle Petty...what a funny thing..JR nation..
  • The record books show Kyle has done something no other driver has ever done in Nascar. 2 truck series wins, 3 Nationwide series wins, and 3 Cup series wins and the points leader. Nobody has ever racked up more than 1 win in all 3 series this early in the year. Outstanding effort.
  • well fist off because kyles a talented driver and he man handles the car if it were who is better racer by how clean they race and thier talent its johnson
  • Kyle can drive sideways in complete control. He has a winning spirit, and if you've ever watched a horse race, you've seen how far that desire to win can take you.
  • Dale Jr. is way better than Kyle Busch, on the track and off. Dale takes his losses gracefully, he doesn't place the blame on anyone, nor does he threaten to wreck anyone he has to. Dale Jr. is the best by far :D
  • Because it is all part of the transition to weed out the veteran drivers and bring in the young guns that started a few years back. You see Dale Earnhardt Sr had the largest fan base. NASCAR didn't like the total control of the fan base. Now his son Dale Jr has total control of the fan base. NASCAR still can't stand it.

What they want is to have someone like Jimmy Johnson and Kyle Busch come in and show favoritism and make them look like they are "the best drivers ever". They want anyone to look better than an Earnhardt. That's the reason they always compare drivers to "The Earnhardts".

It started a few years back. NASCAR has been making unfair calls against Dale Jr penalizing him for things not even in the rule books but they let the same things slide with other drivers.

See NASCAR wants to brainwash those that don't know any better. That's why you have these few fans that think he is the best. They will never admit that NASCAR is showing favoritism to Toyota's teams this year. Heck, Michael Waltrip is now allowed to steal parts and NASCAR says "they will not get involved". Had Jr's team been involved in it then immediate suspensions.

There are a lot that is better than Kyle Busch. Kyle is just under NASCAR's wing as of now. It's all part of the "SHOW".
  • I think for one he is really good but he brings a new excitement to the sport and lots of people are jumping on it.(not Winter Glory or #18's #1, they have been die hard from the beginning of Kyle's career including you) He is the best right now(not EVER) but there is a long long way to go. You can fall just as fast as you rose. Later.
  • Same reason fans think their favorite driver is the best.
    Tony Stewart is better,Carl Edwards,Jeff Gordon,Jeff Burton,are better.
Busch is good and can drive but like all good drivers someone sees what he is doing and they start racing with him.
  • I don't think he is the best, I may think he is great. The kid is doing well this year, but if he starts to get a big head on him or loose focus, it can all start going down hill. Now if he can keep it up, time will tell. Come closer to the chase, everybody will start to get aggressive. If Kyle is already locked in, will he drive aggressive, or will he actually drive smart and just let the other guys fight to get in? That will tell what his season will be like. I think it will be interesting. If Kyle wins the Championship, he will be "The Best". Now if somebody else wins the Championship, They'll be the best. Kyle has a chance to do it. I just hope he doesn't loose focus.
  • Right now he is because he is on top in points for the race to the championship. He is also a consistent driver who finishes in top 5 & he will be one of the drivers to beat for the championship whether his haters want to accept it or not
  • everyone is so excited for Kyle Busch (and he does rock!) but why do people think he's so great, just because he's first in points? Jeff Burton was 1st in points, and people didn't get all "happy" for him. Tell me which driver you think is better than "The Wild Dude" You can say nobody if you wanna show your excitableness or prediction of the future, but I want to see the opinions of who "is" better than Kyle Busch.
  • 3 wins and leading in points will do it for now. He is currently the strongest driver this year. The kid has a TON of talent, he just has a crappy attitude. If he kept his on track aggressiveness and just mellowed out some in front of the camera and show the guy he says he is, I think that he popularity would really soar (not that it already hasnt to some degree), hell I'd probably start liking him again. As long as he keeps pointing fingers at every one but himself, he'll be really limited to what he's capable of off the track.

Folks compare Kyle to Dale Sr, I really think that's a bad comparison, I feel that he's more like a younger Tony Stewart.
  • He is just real young to have won as much as he has. There are plenty of drivers as good or even better than Kyle. Carl has 3 wins also.
  • I've always been a Dale Jr. fan... :-)
  • What's your favorite Michael Waltrip commercial?

    May be...

  • #3. That bird is hilarious. Michael's reactions priceless.

They've definitely had some of the best NASCAR commercials...the one where the fan brings in the Bristol diecast car that's in a million pieces is one of my faves also.

Hmm, not sure I've seen the "stalker fan" that everyone's talking about...?
  • The fan mail ones are my favorite. They're funny, and they showed how Mikey can turn something negative into something positive.

The cockatoo is a close second. That one was hilarious.
  • I love the #4's the best, the Napa fan mail. Just him being able to poke fun at himself speaks millions about his personality, and he must really be a great guy to be around.
  • #3 the cockatoo..especially when he says gas pedal on the right and 55 is car number not the speed limit, almost fell out at that one..loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..lol
  • i like #1's and 3, but i like these better:

    - any of the napa "fan mail" ones (especially the one answer, "and no, chris from wherever, as far as i know my head has always been located where it is now, on top of my shoulders, but thanks for asking.")

    - the crazy "stalker" fan ("would you like a hat?")
  • I really like the hilarious fan male commercials he did. I wish he would do another one. But, all his commercials are pretty comical. His facial expressions are priceless.
  • Choice #1- The crazy fan with his 'customized' diecast.

Choice #2- The Aaron's commercials with DW.

Choice #3- The commercial with the cockatoo.
  • I love them all and can't pick just one. I sure wish Michael could do better for the great sponsor he has.
  • #1 I love the look on Mikeys face with the guy that comes in with the diecast, that Bristol car..that was priceless.. #3 would be a close second, love that cockatoo..yeah 55 is your number not the speed limit..
Theres also one you did not mention, the one with DJ and Mikey and they open the door theres Sammy Hagar singing his old can't drive 55 song.. One thing for sure Mikey is great at commercials,, Aarons and Napa are laughing all the way to the Bank...

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • The guy with the 'customized' die casts. that one is good.

I also like the "Obsessed" fan. "Would you like a hat?"
  • One that I dont think anyone really remembers. Its a Napa commercial with Mike and DJ. It was right after DJ had become part of MWR. It shows Mike and DJ walking through a giant Napa warehouse and DJ asks how the Napa people knoe so much? So then Mike goes into this big schpeel about how all the employees of Napa have a microchip implanted in their head that links them to the Napa computers. The look on DJ's face is priceless. Or possibly the Napa commercial with the customized diecasts. The california car made me almost pee myself from laughing.
  • number 3 what the FREAK micheal the gas is on the right
  • It's a toss up between #2 and #5 but the fan letters are hillarious too.
  • the stalker one-want a hat
  • "it's called the draft Michael, look it up" I love that bird! #3
  • 1 by far.
  • What do you think of ESPN's top 25 list?

    May be...

  • i won't pretend that i know them all, but john force is just fine on there (and i'm more of a nascar fan than nhra). i think "big daddy" don garlits should be ranked a little higher. and i don't see don "the snake" prudhomme, or any of nascar's "allison"s in there.

i don't know what their criteria were, so it's tough to say. i'd opt for more "pioneers" in the sport, than just those with lots of championships (where would top fuel be without garlits - nascar without junior johnson?)

and IMNSHO, driving in a straight line against a competitor, especially while literally sitting on a rocket, is racing.
  • Fine, Andretti should be first
  • This is all time in all series:

    25. Steve Kinser
    24. Nigel Mansell
    23. Don Garlits
    22. Niki Lauda
    21. Shirley Muldowney
    20. Darrell Waltrip
    19. Emerson Fittipaldi
    18. Alain Prost
    17. Bobby Unser
    16. Tony Stewart
    15. Al Unser
    14. Cale Yarborough
    13. Jackie Stewart
    12. John Force
    11. Rick Mears
    10. Jeff Gordon
    9. Juan Manuel Fangio
    8. Jim Clark
    7. David Pearson
    6. Richard Petty
    5. Ayrton Senna
    4. Michael Schumacher
    3. Dale Earnhardt
    2. Mario Andretti
    1. A.J. Foyt
  • John force ruins all creditably this list had.

Driving in a straight line is not racing.
  • I have to agree with that "Rowdy's World" fella! John Force has got to be "on"(up higher) this list as well as "Snake"(I'm not talkin the bow legged kind). In my dictionary that I use, when I look up(best) race car driver there is a picture of Richard Petty and Dale Sr(RIP) on there with room for Jeff Gordon in there in the future.. This is my very biased Nascar opinion and proud of it.
  • They are full of ****. No Colin Mcrae? Fittipaldi in 19th? ******* idiots.
  • Dale should be first. John Force should be second. Scott Bloomquist needs to be on the list. Kinser needs to be higher. Jeff Gordon with 500+ sprint car wins and 81 NASCAR wins and is ranked 10th? Should be higher in my opinion. Tony Stewart in 16th should be higher. Basically they wanted to put a little bit of every series on the list so they would be politically correct. God for bid you hurt someone's feelings.

  • Who will win WOO tonight?

    May be...

  • WOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!
    HOOOOOoooooooooooo !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • WOO? There's no wooing in NASCAR. Maybe a little woo-hooing.
  • WOO CARES?
  • Kraig KInser or Joey Saldana?

    Yep, easy question.

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • Don't know many of them. Every race I've watched, given there are not NASCAR drivers in it, has been won by Donny Schatz.
  • Kasey Kahne(add team), he is on a roll.

I told ya Lance Dewease would win!!! LMAO! J/K!!

    Later Tbone.
  • The question is easy enough.
  • What ever happened to the Dude? He was always a threat even when nobody knew who he was, he was giving the Kinsers fits.
  • How about Schatz..Whoooooooo hooooooooo..
  • I asked this question last night?

    May be...

  • It's immature, Dale Jr. fans can't get over the fact that Kyle and Dale collided causing Junior to lose 15 spots in one race. I'm a DIE-HARD Junior fan, and I know that this is racing. You can't always get lucky. Dale knows that anything is possible, and he got involved in a wreck, IT'S CALLED RACING. If you can't handle it, you don't deserve to be a fan of it.

Get over it, it's history. Dale's over it, learn from him.

It's a stupid fight, that's all. Ignore it.
  • i answered last night and still believe that there is a fair amount of kyle busch fan bashing that goes on, as there is a fair amount of junior nation bashing, nascar nation bashing, etc... but, you also need to make the distinction between "bashing" and, as they might say down south, "funnin'."

the bashing is not done by the regulars here, at least not for the most part. people like the guy above me and arturo (up further) who are just trolling around looking for points or to cause trouble - those are the ones generally doing any bashing of fans.

and like it's been said before, a little trash talk amongst fans, either about them or their drivers, never hurt anyone. i know i've "needled" the fans of quite a few drivers, including those in rowdy's world. and i like to think i can take it as well as i can dish it. but that's all in fun - part of the passion of being a fan of the sport, and of your driver.

i mean what fun is it if every now and then (not ALWAYS), you can't give, or take, an "in your FACE!!!" as a fan. fans of other sports do it all the time... and i'm sure that there will be plenty of those to go around soon, when junior wins again... taking something like that seriously is just silly.

now, for the semi-regulars as well as the passers-by who like to bash busch fans, junior fans, or nascar fans as a whole, screw'em. as the old sayings go "give'em enough rope and they'll hang themselves," and "better to keep your mouth shut and appear to be ignorant, than to open your mouth and prove it." one day they'll understand that, or they won't - who cares.

"don't let them rent space in your head, the real estate's too valuable in there."

EDIT: as for picking on britney and her fans, that crap i take personally!!!
    LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE!!! (-; http://youtube.com/watch?v=LWSjUe0FyxQ ;-)
  • I didn't narc ya out.... but to answer ya question?
    Thats just rac'in !!!!
  • those are really Penske Racing fans just pretending they're Dale Earnhardt Jr. fans. That way everyone thinks the haters are Dale Earnhardt Jr fans, because people are narrow minded and can't see that there's more than just two drivers in NASCAR that have fans. Heck, sometimes I pretend i'm a Jeff Burton fan and throw my garbage around, and i'm not obsessed with any of the drivers, or as you guys call it... "favorite"
  • I NEVER REPORT ANYBODY BUT I'M REPORTED CONSTANTLY...THUMBS UP OR THUMBS DOWN SHOULD BE ENOUGH...I'VE ALWAYS HATED THE REPORTING BULL CRAP.....JUST ASK TREGO.... I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SHRUB FANS....I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SHRUB....I'D LIKE TO REINACT THE RENT-A-CAR SCENE FROM DAYS OF THUNDER WITH HIM AS "ROWDY".....
  • I echo Winter Glory and Tbone to the T! If you have to "Bash", "Bash the driver" not the fans!! Dalejr4ever is one of my best friends, she is one of the best answers on here if not the best!

    BTW: <<<<<<<<< NO RAT HERE!

Some may bash the fans, but the True fans in here dont trash each other, thats the way we roll.
  • I didn't report you....It wasn't me T-bone... I quit reporting people a long time ago... All I do is call him Shrub, I have absolutely nothing against any of Kyle Busch's fans on here. Some of Dale Jr fans are on the obnoxious side, but its a free country.. It got worse after Richmond.....I hope they would have moved on and forgot Richmond by now... Its been how many weeks now....I'm over it... Actually some of the Kyle Busch fans on here get a lot of thumbs up from me, they are as passionate about Kyle as Dale Jr fans... I even use kyle in my fantasy league..

PLEASE can't we all just get along on here.

    GO Dale Jr & Hms
  • i answered too

they are jealous of kyles greatness, he is the third best of all time behind richard petty and juan pablo montoya.

ps wild thing makes winter glorys heart sing.

pps i bet someone you named reported you so you should have it lowered down to them and the one i named.
  • People talk trash because people are people. There are people in this section who are only out to get a rise out of others. But for the most part, we respect each other. There is some joking around and stuff, but it's only in good fun. It's the people that have nothing better to do with their life than stir the pot around here that cause the problems. I tune them out. They're not real Jr. fans or real Kyle fans. The regulars around here that are fans of each driver are fine with each other. Both sides get a lot of thumbs down. I swear, if someone asked what color the sky was and I answered that it was blue, I'd get a thumbs down. I too give thumbs up to Kyle fans when they answer a stupid question from a troll with maturity and clarity.
  • it got reported i think it's because i named names, so i won't do that again, but i'd still like to know, i only got a couple of honest answers, i'd like more please

why ar dale earnhardt junior's fans so mean and trash talk kyle busch's fans on this forum?
  • Kyle fans are cool in my book. The only fans I have a problem with are the fans that bash other fans. Good luck to Kyle tomorrow but I do hope Sadler wins one.
  • I think that both drivers and fans get picked on alot. I do feel that the Jr fans get picked on more, example, everytime there is beer thrown at a track, wither it's on the forums or on TV, radio and so on, the Jr fans always get blamed for it or we all get put into the same class as the ones that are doing that.

So folks are just bone-headed, everyone one wants to claim that their driver is the best, but not very many can back it up. When stats are pulled out, it always becomes something else. Fact is, out of the current drivers, Jeff Gordon is the best driver out there, followed in suit by Jimmy and Tony. In my opinion, it's a free for all from there. You can look at stats, popularity, what they've done in 3 months of racing or a life time of racing. But things wont be the same if the fans didnt defend their driver.

It seems like a lot of times that many folks like to jump on the band wagon and root for drivers just because of their current success. I've been coming here for a long time now and I've never seen Kyle get so much exposure. He's a good driver and to some degree, he deserves it.

Some folks just like to ruffle feathers (I'm guilty of that every now and then), some folks just get sick of seeing the same question being posted over and over and just give smart a$$ anwsers.

Anyway, that's just my point of view.
  • kyle busch is awesome.... HAHA, i proved you wrong. lol, i dont really think he's awesome but i dont hate him with a passion like others.
  • Wow, I guess I really missed it! Was I on your list too? We are not mean, most of us are just being competetive. We don't bash Kyle's fans! I know a lot of people give me thumbs down, and make rude comments to me, but I just say it like I see it. You don't have to like what I say, it's just my opinion. Most of those comments come from those who have not been here very long, as some of us have been here a looooonnnnngggg time! Sometimes we all get going and really bash the other drivers, but it is mostly a difference of opinion, not an all out war. I don't dislike anyone on here, and have lots of friends here who root for different drivers. To each his own, just don't judge others, and have respect! I don't think reporting anyone is really necessary, and I don't do it, so it wasn't me.

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • i didnt answer this last night, but im a Jr fan, Jr fan for life. but at the same time I like kyle busch. i like his driving style. He drives alot like Dale Sr. im not sure why they're bashing him, im sure its over the wreck at richmond. but i dont think kyle meant to do it. they were both goin for the win and rubb'n's race'n. i dont hate kyle for it, i hate that it happened. but im not gunna start dawg'n kyle for it, cant blame him for want'n to win.
  • I remember answering this question last night, sorry you got reported, but as I stated in my original answer, the Jr. fans on this forum don't trash on Kyle's fans, Kyle maybe, but not his fans, I feel as though I've been treated with a decent amount of respect from all the members on this forum, and the names you named last night, are no exception.

    yes, Gloria, you were
  • Kyle Busch fans act so cocky like Kyle. He is a very immature driver and person, and he all of a sudden thinks that he is in a class with Earnhardt Sr. and others.
  • truex jr
  • I didn't report and caught the question but you were completely off base by naming a few people. In particular my friend DaleJR4E. If your gonna name names get your facts straight bubba

By the way it comes from both sides.

The person I named is the most unbiased person around here. You made a mistake. There is a difference between being mean and trash talking compared to being dissapointed or trashing fans.

    Enjoy your holiday.
  • It isn't just Junior's fans. There are some Kyle Busch fans who are plenty nasty themselves.
It's just the nature of the internet. People say things from behind the safety of their keyboard that they wouldn't say to someone's face.
  • 23.5.08

Looking back a last years 600...?

    May be...

  • I don't like it when a team wins by fuel mileage, but strategy is part of the game!
  • There's been a lot of races won by fuel mileage. A win is a win to me. Doesn't matter how you get to the checkers, just matters if you get there first.
Don't know where everyone is. Maybe they're starting their Memorial Day weekend early. Hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday!
  • Love them. Outwit, Outlast, Outdrive!!
  • Somewhat...I like crash filled races, and those won by pit strategy.
  • I love 'em. I wouldnt want to see them each week but the end of them are always filled with drama and excitement. Whats NOT to like about a fuel mileage race? A car has an advantage when it has more power. Why should a car making good mileage not occasionally have an advantage on the field. And if we only want the fastest cars to win, then why run the race at all? Its why you play the game- to see what will happen.
  • I am here!

I do like the fuel milage races. I don't want anyone I am rooting for to run out at the end of course but it sure makes for an exciting finish.
  • I'M NOT A BIG FAN OF SOMEONE WINNING BY GAS MILEAGE BUT....I LOVE WATCHING DRIVERS THAT THINK THEY'RE GONNA WIN RUN OUT OF GAS WITH 1 LAP TO GO.......LIKE WHEN STEWART RAN OUT IN LOUDON ALLOWING JOE NEMECHEK TO STEAL ONE.
  • I don't think fuel mileage will be as critical as the cars having mechanical issues. It will be interesting to see how the Toyota teams will do.
  • Do you like fuel mileage races?

    Where is everyone today?
  • No I don't like fuel mileage races. You hate to see someone dominate the race and then lose to someone who had been in 20th all day that only got a splash of fuel.

To me, it's not strategy, but really can ruin a race. I thought Mark Martin was going to finally win at Phoenix earlier this season, only to lose it do to the pit strategies...so I think all in all races that come down to fuel mileage are not that exciting.
  • If every race went green or didn't have caution flags, they'd all be fuel mileage races. It's fun to watch the strategy play out and see who can gamble and make it pay off. Tony Stewart coasting for about 3/4 of a lap a few years ago to win the race was the weirdest thing I've seen with fuel mileage. I think it was at Kansas where he coasted out of fuel almost a full lap to steal the win. I kept waiting for someone to pass him and noone ever did. I will never forget that. Everybody's going on vacation.
  • Who's the best current F1 driver?

    May be...

  • If getting your car to the finish line first consistently throughout the season is the definition of "best" then it's Kimi.
He and Alonso are the only world champions on the grid but Alonso wasn't made to look too good against Lewis last year, whatever the circumstances.
I'm sure there's quite a few others that look like world champion material in the right car, Button springs to mind, certainly Hamilton, perhaps Rosberg and Kubica lately but one has to prove he can get the job done when it matters.
And also has to get himself in the position to do it which is not all down to luck, top team bosses choose drivers on merit.
  • I'm a Hamilton fan but i'm realistic, the best of the bunch at the moment are Kimi and Kubica. Both make me sit up and take notice and I cannot wait for the BMW to catch up with Robert.
  • im personally a fan of Heidfield but this year Kubica looks to be one of the best :D
  • as much as i want to say kimi i have to go with alonso,
no one is doing more with less this year
  • Theoretically it is Kimi because he is the reigning world champion and is leading the points table, however, it must be said that having the front running car helped him achieve this.
So, aside from Kimi, I believe the best current driver is Heiki Kovalainen. He has often out performed Hamilton and previously Fisichella, then wasn't wanted by Renault, presumably because it was obvious that he would "be competitive" with Alonso (I'm still not sure why they complain about Piquet, he's doing what he was employed to do: not be competitive with Alonso).
  • Kimi beint the best current driver in F1 in NOT theoretical, He is current champion and 08 points leader to date. Everybody's entitled to their opinion but your question can be answered with a fact. ...Kimi
  • Kimi is the current world champ so I'll go with him. Lewis still has some learning to do, but IMO he's not that far behind. there is no doubt in my mind that he will be a world champion, and more than once
  • I say Lewis Hamilton, what do you think?
  • Sorry, but I'm not a fan of Hamilton. I'd say the best would be Raikkonen and my favourite would be Barrichello (sentimental reasons).
  • Kimi Raikkonen =) Robert Kubica =) and a few others

why am i getting thumbs down ??

i answered the question !!! dumb people who are giving thumbs down !!
  • Im a big buttton fan, but the best at the moment is massa
  • In my opinion MASSA is the best because i just love the way he drives and hes the one im suppporting ..

    Piyush

  • Alonso, Massa then Kimi.
  • What 3 words do you think best describe?

    May be...

  • young lost hopeful
  • Mario he's not.
  • John Andretti is so sweet and I think thats his downfall.
    John races clean.
He is usually caught up in a wreck or 2.
  • Mario's older brother lol
  • I quit Glory. I can't say much more about this Motley Crew you're picking. They could start their own recycling facility with all the cars they wreck between them.
  • try it again
  • Should be better.
  • Really nice guy !
  • RENTAL CAR LOTBOY
  • Andretti wanna be.

  • It goes to show you, just because your last name is Andretti, doesn't mean you are going to be as good as the original "Mario"

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Talented, no equipment. He is a very good driver. Unfortunately, when you just cant compete with the big guns and get stuck i the back of the field, something bad is bound to happen. He has been stuck in the wrong place and wrong time for way to long.
  • The Best Racing Series in the World????

    May be...

  • There is no low to formula one. the new rules made over the past has mostly been to promote passing. this has proved to be effective with the likes of Massa and Hamilton. the thing is that most of the time the competition is between teams, not drivers. fuel strategies, pit stops, car setups, and good driving (overtaking) is what makes you a winning driver. but every now and again the fast drivers find themselves lacking in pace then you see some good overtaking. also the good dog fights on the days that you get drivers that are equal in form. problem is the only drivers to put up a fight at every race are retired (senna and shumi).

oh yes, and 99% of NASCAR fans are american, so it's not even a world recognised sport.
  • indy - speed and closeness of the cars - f1 and a1 gp close behind
  • Ok this question is going to be interesting :P.

I am going to list a few series and there strong points and low points and i want to see what you guys think is best :D

    1. Formula 1/High-Top of the Line Teams with best drivers on teh planet/Low- Not much Passing

    2. American Lemans/High-Absolutely amazing action all around, beutiful cars, great drivers, and 4 different races going on at once on 1 track/Low-Some Races are a Bit Long

    3. NASCAR/High-Pack Racing (That is now lost with the new CoT so not much left to see)/Low-Just about everything from whining Drivers for not pushing them to how they make a big deal when they turn Right for once... (and all of them crash on lap 1)

    4. (My Choice!!) A1GP/High-Even Cars, Tight Racing, Its the Olympics of Racing, and will be using Ferrari Everything next Season :D/Low- Needs more Nations but they are coming.

    5. IRL/High-Fast Cars/Low-The only popular Drivers are someone who is in the SI Swimsuit Edition, and Helio from dancing with the star
  • NASCAR, despite your ignorant opinion of it, is hands down the best racing series on earth.
  • Did the Schlitz beer co. ever sponsor TONY STEWART when he was coming up thrue the ranks???

    May be...

  • I'll give you the same answer I did last time:

I've been collecting Stewart diecasts, and I have done plenty of searches on ebay for them. I've never seen one for Schlitz. If I had, I'd have it. Heh heh.

Unless they sponsored a car he drove in another series like the IRL or USAC. I read his book to, and I don't remember anything about that. Seems like something I'd remember. It'd be cool if somebody knew for sure. I know he mentioned it last year, that he drank Schlitz. His comments after winning at Chicagoland last year:

"And I've got a case of Schlitz that I fully intend on getting to the bottom of the cardboard box on tonight, even if I have to do it by myself. I don't care, it's going to happen. That's if I don't pass out first."

Then he punctuated the air with a burst of laughter before continuing.

"You guys laugh at me like nobody drinks Schlitz anymore," he added. "The good thing is they stock it close to home and it's only about eight bucks a case, cold. And if you've got a couple of roommates and you've got seven in the fridge when you leave, you've got seven in the fridge when you come back. You're not supporting everybody else's drinking habits."

@smoken20girl: Is that true? He would have been like 11. Would that be legal? I'm genuinely interested.
  • if not, they should have, for all the publicity he's given them...
    ;-)
  • If so when and what type of racing?
  • Not that I know of!
  • yes he did back in 1982 or 1983 when he was racing migits, and go carts! but never in nascar or world of out law!

What track would you most like to drive?

    May be...

  • one of my favorite to watch, and the only one i was able to play decently my first time on some driver game i found at a conference last year, was lowe's motorspeeday. i don't play videogames often, most other tracks i tried, i stunk. but i flew around lowe's. there's something hypnotic also about watching cars come through the whole frontstretch, especially as they cut across the lines on the track going from the start-finish to turn one.

and vegas - where i saw my first race. it's wicked fast since the repave, and just the right length.

least favorite - even though it too is wicked fast, the auto club speedway down the road here in fontana seems the least interesting... in many ways ;-)
  • Daytona
  • I'm with you on all the above except Dover. It seems like a rhythm track to me. (at least on PS2)
  • I would like to drive on Bristol then Daytona!! I LOVE NASCAR!!!! =)
  • I have to go with a SuperSpeeday so I choose my hometown track MIS. I want to be able to open that baby up full throttle and feel them G's!

Least favorite would be a road course. I like to watch them but have no desire to drive one.
  • I've been fortunate enough to get some tracks off my list, but I still want to run wide open at Talladega, run some hot laps at Indy, just because of the history and tradition, and go do something at Laguna Seca, my favorite road course on video games. Oh, and I can't forget Martinsville.
  • ORP and Phoenix. Both based on racing them on the xbox.

Talladega would be my least favorite.
  • Pocono Raceway
  • it would have to be Bristol love that track!
  • Talladega.......fav
    Richmond.........least fav
  • my most favourite would be to drive around Daytona, Talladega, New Hampshire

My least favourite would be martinsville, california, las vegas
  • I would love to run Talladega! That has always been my favorite track. I love the speed.

I would hate to run Bristol, After I was done, my car would look like Michael Waltrip's after his bad wreck there years back.
  • Darlington, and Bristol..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • For the pure history, Daytona, Bristol and Indy.

But if I could, the one(s) I would like to drive the most is everyone of them, just to see how tough it really is and what it takes to run each track in the series.
  • Infineon followed by Talladega.
  • For the track itself, not it's history. I would say Britol but I'll put New Hampshire, ORP, and Martinsville on that list. I love rhythm tracks.

Least favorite? I would hate to run Indy, Darlington, and Dover.
  • If I had a chance...........................anyone of them, what a rush it would be!!
  • atlanta
  • WATKINS GLEN OR SONOMA.....LEFT, RIGHT , UP,DOWN
WAY MORE OPPERTUNITY TO BUMP AND RUN....MAYBE I'D BE IN THE CAT BIRD SEAT WHEN JUAN PABLO AND ROBBY G SHOOT FOR THE SAME POSTAGE STAMP SIZED SPOT ON THE TRACK
  • I would like to be able to drive Bristol and the one I wouldn't like very much I think would be Pocono.
  • Bristol for the fun and Talledega or Atlanta for the speed.
  • Do you think back flips and climbing the fence are a good idea?

    May be...

  • That is a good point, I don't think I'd pull the plug on it, though.
  • I think about that every time they win. I like how Roush and Gibbs are worried about their drivers running the Nationwide series but they let them do acrobats. Nothing like a nice, safe burnout and/or victory lap. Good question.
  • They could slip and fall in the shower, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't take showers. These guys drive around a track doing 200mph with 42 other drivers. I may be wrong, but I think that's far more dangerous than back flips and fence climbing.
  • It makes a great show for the fans, no doubt.

But, If I had Carl Edwards or Tony Stewart under contract, I'd have to pull the plug on such activities.

What would happen if Edwards foot slipped off the edge of the car, and he landed on his neck?

What if Tony Stewart climbs out of his car after a win overheated and dehydrated, misses his footing and falls from the top of fence?
  • But yet they do all sorts of promotions where they could easily suffer a career ending injury.

Hey, a friggin plane could crash on the track too!

Let them enjoy. Remember that just a few years ago, they never did the burnouts after winning either. It was considered unsportsmanlike.
  • id be funny if they mest up hehe....

no im just kidding that would be awful lol
  • I think that it is a good idea because i think that every driver should have a signature move after winning a race instead od doing just regualr things
  • When a driver doing a back flip, climbing a fence or one that looses it doing a burn out gets injured then something will be done.
But for show it is a crowd pleaser.
  • You do have a good point, but these guys are facing a lot more danger than slipping and falling. Do you think Edwards would have gotten as many commercials if he didn't do backflips?
  • AS LONG AS THE INFIELD CARE CENTER IS OPEN....WHY NOT..CARL AND TONY EACH COULD USE SOME STITCHES FROM A GOOD WHACK ON THE HEAD!!
  • Good question, I'm sure Jack Roush knows Carl is in super good shape, but if he ever misses a landing, turns that ankle over or falls and injures himself I'm sure that will be the end of the backflips..The same thing on Smoke as well with the fence also...I guess it does put on a good show for the fans..I guess the old saying goes if its not broke don't fix it. Carl is a lot younger than Smoke, I'm sure Tony knows when he is not able to climb that fence.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • You make a good point, Rob.

Yeah, these guys are out there racing at close to 200 mph, but they are very well protected in that car. That is not the case when flipping or climbing a fence. I worry more about Smoke climbing those fences that wobble than i do about Carl. He looks like he knows what he's doing, and he's been doing it for a while. He might still get it wrong, though, considering he does if after spending four hours in a hot car that he is muscling around the track. But the crowds love it, especially when Smoke climbs up there and shares the victory with them. I don't think they'll pull the plug until something happens.
  • i do not think that they have to i just think it is part of there personalities...otay
  • Its good fun and if NASCAR thoughtit was remotely dangerous they would pull the plug for everyone they do not let anyone do anything unsafe.
  • I couldnt disagree more. If I was a owner and knowing how tough sponsorships can be to obtain, I would love having guys like that. Thats something you can really brand. The odds such activities help my race team are far, far greater than the odds they get hurt. I would never try to drag personality out of my driver. That stuff sells.
  • I think these guys know their limitations. If they can drive at close to 200 mph in these races then these post race celebrations should not be a problem. Tony Stewart may want to back off of the fence climbing because of his current weight problem; the next fence he climbs might come tumbling down upon him. Carl Edwards however has realized his potential danger and has changed to doing his back flip on the grass..............a bit of a softer landing in case he does mess up. The way #20 is driving this year may keep him off the fences anyway.......................
  • it is entertaining for the fans and the fans pay the bucks they get so...I think its great, keep flipping and climbing...sides if they couldnot do it I am sure they would think of another way, these guys are thrill seekers
  • i know that a) it's not a good idea for me to try it, and b) carl edwards does flips because he is happy to have won and doesn't want to be doing burnouts because he feels it tears up the equipment.

and as other people have said, these guys do far more dangerous things on and off the track, and injury is always a possibility. heck, last year (or was it the year before) jimmie johnson fractured a bone in his wrist while goofing around on golf carts...

as for tony, well, tony's going to do what tony wants, and the fence climbing was a cool thing for the fans, and for the teams. it just shows off the driver's personalities a little differently than just doing burnouts...and is better on the equipment overall.
  • Pull the Plug on the back flip for sure! I thought it was cool the first time I saw it but, it could end up being a really bad deal!
If Tony wins he could have his pit crew there to catch him if he falls, but I would pull that plug too!
  • I say let them do what ever they want to do. They know what they loose if something goes wrong. If I won that much money for doing something I love I would do flips too.!!
  • idk but that would make some funny moment in victory lane celebrations.... LAMO
  • Who knows Josh Norris?

  • 21.5.08

Would you consider my cousin a bandwagon fan?

    May be...

  • I would have called him a bandwagon fan in '03. Now, he's a diehard.
  • As long as they're a fan. If the bandwagon captures new fans, then that's one fine bandwagon.
  • Not if he has stuck with him through now. If he had bailed on him in the 2004 season then yeah he'd be a bandwagon fan. But, to follow and stay loyal for 5 years, not really a bandwagon fan anymore.
  • I think as long as you stay loyal and don't jump ship when your driver is having a dry spell then your all good.
  • Bandwagon fans are classless and worship their driver. Say one bad thing to them about their driver, and they go off.

If he's a good sportsman and can admit his driver isn't perfect, then he's not a bandwagon fan.
  • He may have started out a bandwagon fan, but as long as he doesn't jump ship during his dry spells, he's legit.
  • He became a fan of Ryan Newman in 2003 after he got those 8 or 9 wins but has stuck with him since then even through the long dry spell. This is my last bandwagon oriented question. lol
  • I wouldn't. Jumping on a bandwagon is fine. Everyone has to at one time or another :)
It's the jumping off I hate!
  • Yeah, I guess he was one in '03 and now isn't.

Although, just because you like a guy after he won doesn't mean you're strictly a band wagoner. There is a lot of attention that comes with a win and maybe you hear something you like about the driver that you hadn't known before or whatever when the win generates a lot of press. It happens, and that's not a bad thing.

But if you like them when they win and dump them when they're not as hot on the track, then, yeah, band wagoner.
  • No not at all. He has never jumped ship with Ryan. If he would have started pulling for Kyle Busch all the sudden and forgot about Ryan then yes he would. But right now no he is not.
  • no he is a long time fan since newman has had a rough copule of seasons. if only poles were wins, hed be the best, and people would say all of his fans are bandwagoners
  • Someone new to the sport can come along and start pulling for a driver who's doing well, and that makes them a bandwagon fan/rookie.

Now, if they stay with that driver through thick and thin, they loose both the bandwagon and rookie status. If they jump from driver to driver depending on who's hot, they're a bandwagon lifer.

So to answer your question, your cousin is not a bandwagon fan in my eyes.
  • How long before David Ragan picks up a bunch of fans on his bandwagon?

    May be...

  • I like him now, too bad he drives for Roush.

I watched a special on Speed about him. His dad offered him a brand new Corvette if he would walk away from racing when he was 16, and he said he wanted to race instead. That's pretty cool.
  • When he starts winning of course, then he will be the "Best Driver Ever"
  • He's already got me. He has really stepped it up from this point last year, and I think he's making people notice him. Just look at my answer to "If Jr. Is not the best...?"
  • I can vouch for superdave.
I like David, mainly because of his nationwide sponsorship, Discount Tire Co. my husband manages one of their stores, so we always pull for whoever's in that ride..
  • I have always loved him!!!!! I met him last year at Chicagoland!!! He is awesome!!!!
  • i predict that this time next year, all the so called kyle busch fans on here will drop him and jump on ragans bandwagon. the kid can drive, he's going to be a star, i've been telling people that all year.
  • as soon as he gets a little too loose and knocks rowdy out of a race...

    sad but true...

    ;-)
  • Well I don't know about other people but David has been one of my favorite drivers for almost a year now. I think he has a lot of talent! Also he is really good at learning from his mastakes. I think he will make the chase this year!
    (IM NOT ON HIS BANDWAGON!)

    GO DAVID #6
  • Hard to tell. He is doing better, so probably not long. Problem is, I never did like "bandwagon jumpers". Weak and fickle!

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • Tom G, I have already put him under my umbrella of drivers I pull for. I did that quite a few weeks ago, just ask Tbone or Winter Glory if I did. I am not a bandwagon kinda man. I stick to the ones I pull for through thick and thin.
  • I have recently become a Ragan fan. In fact, I just bought one of his diecasts this past weekend. But I don't jump on bandwagons. I'm a member of the Bowtie Brigade , and I'm not a Roush fan in the least. However, Ragan has impressed me with a couple of his interviews. He had a tough year last year, and he's weathered the storm well. He was being bashed on many forums and being called a wrecker. But he made it through that year and is steadily improving. I admire that. I admire when people overcome adversity (of some sort) to become successful. He also seems like a genuinely nice and sincere guy. The story he told on Trackside was great too. Stewart was pi$$ed at him for a wreck David caused and wasn't even returning his calls. Then they both ended up at the same charity event. David paid several thousand dollars for one of the charity prizes of a ride around the track with Stewart. He figured Stewart couldn't avoid him if they were both in the same car. Any person that has the guts to sit in the same car with Stewart knowing he's pi$$ed as hell at you has a lot of courage and heart, especially since it was to apologize and make amends, not a particularly empowering position to be in. Yeah, I'm now a David Ragan fan and can't wait to see him win his first race. I'm sure a lot of people feel the same about him for similar reasons, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's gaining more and more fans each passing week. I wouldn't call them bandwagoners, though, since I think it's due to his actions on AND off the track.
  • Christian Lomax???

    May be...

  • some ambient/progressive/folk rock artist with a profile on purevolume?

where in the world is matt lauer? and what are these questions doing in the nascar section?
  • is there a better answer you know of? seriously, i was trying to be a little funny, but was kinda curious myself... Report It
  • Who is Christian Lomax???
  • Did your driver meet your pre-season expectations?

    May be...

  • No, man I knew I shoulda found someone better than Michael McDowell. He has some awesome wrecks though...lol jk.

Kyle Busch exceeded and has grown on me...Gordon and Johnson so far are doin worse than I expected but hopefully will get better.
  • Nope! Shrub bypassed all expectations. I knew he was gonna be good, but dang that boy is awesome this year!
  • My pick this year was Kyle. Enough said!
  • Exceeded them.

Mark Martin was doing well in the #01 last year, and likely to get a win in time. However, following the sale to DEI, the change in crew chiefs, and the loss of Hendrick engines, performance fell off dramatically. This year I expected more of the same.

Instead the #8 has had some excellent runs. DEI's engine program is now associated with Childress, which can only be good. Mark would have won in Phoenix if his crew chief had remembered that he isn't racing for points.

While the #8 team is clearly not up to the level of the top contenders, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mark in Victory Lane this year.
  • Not even close... but still has a shot,at the CHASE!!
    if not????......
  • exceeded them.
  • Yes, Dale Jr is 3rd in the points and finishing races, and no dang blown motors, the wins will come I really felt that he might not win races till summer anyway.. And also, there was that fog in the back of my head that said the other teams who were way behind in the COT program were gonna bring it this year and they have..So Hendrick will get it all together, I'm not worried. But Tom, I honestly thought Elliott was going to have a better season.. But then again, he is over due just like Dale Jr for a win..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • exceeded them

i requested you to add me did you get it
  • yes, and i had very high expectations for him. i expected that rowdy would be "checkers or wreckers" nearly every race he entered, and he's done that - and done so ending up with the checkers more often than hooked to a wrecker. he has exceeded my expectations in how much he has "harnessed his talent" and unlike last year, he isn't wadding up cars quite as often. he also exceeded my expectations in terms of raising his level of notoriety, both on and off the track, for better or for worse.

i hoped that rowdy would be getting some serious attention for always being seriously in contention, and little did i know... i still harbor a slight resentment at the fact that nascar and sponsors never really gave his bro' kurt quite the attention that i believe he deserved as a champion, especially given all the things he does, both for the fans (signs autographs at his concessions hauler EVERY raceday) and for charity (the kurt busch "superdome" for the victory junction gang camp).

kyle's made up for that, plus some.

    ;-)
  • Not exactly where I thought he'd be but is showing life.
  • Yes. Clint Bowyer has "won" a race and is well on his way to making the Chase
  • Not yet season is still on going.
  • To be a champion you must be resistant, persistent, and most of all, consistent. The rest will take care of it self.

Dale Jr. is just that. I wish there would have been a couple points wins, but he's a front runner every week and its only a matter of time.
  • im very happy with how # 88 Dale Jr is running but i thought hed have maybe 2wins by now he almost i mean almost had richmond but we all know what happen
  • not yet, it was little e, but he is progressing with the new team!
  • yea david press(not all that known racer)is doing pretty good not winning yet but i haven't had to help him with he's car yet so that means he didn't get in to that many crashes yet
  • Always! No matter how you think if your driver meets your expectations, hes still your driver. I stick thru with mine no matter how hes doin! if you dont beleive in him no matter what then your not a diehard!!! or maybe ive been watchin racin way too long!

  • Kyle has been preforming best anywhere, then Tony, and Denny.
  • Sorry to hear this is your last question. Tony all the way although Denny is very strong as of late.
  • Tony all the way sorry this is your question
  • Tony. But why won't Mr. Zalex be back?
  • Tony Stewart all the way.
Have a safe trip and be safe.
  • HEY! Take care......But to answer your question....Tony.
  • What percentile are you in in Fantasy racing?

    May be...

  • I know you won't believe me but I'm on the 99th percentile
  • 5%
  • I got in the 92nd last year but this year I have had the worst luck and I am in the 43rd. Look for yourself.
  • 67%
  • Im in the 57th percentile in Nascar. But hey, Im in the 98th in Golf and I dont know anything about golf.
  • I'm ''WAY DOWN'' here in the lower 48 somewhere??
    I think I missed a turn somewhere?????
I may have to do what Dave is doing, in golf??. . . .
Quit watching Nascar... and see if it pays ''not to discover''?
  • 96th percentile. I have four of the best drivers in NASCAR on my team, including Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin.
  • I WAS in the 97th percentile right up until the last race when 3 of my 4 drivers ended up 37th or worse and one with a DNF. Uggh! It hurt me bad. I was 1st in my league unitl then as well. Now I am 82nd percentile and dropped to 2nd in my league, but I am only out of 1st by 52 points.

    Rubbin_88
    Points:2901
    Overall Rank:62,047
    Percentile:82nd
    Rank Change:-43,321

I opened my mouth and started bragging a bit to early and it came back & bit me in the azz.
  • I'm in the 61st witgh a lot of bad luck but I started the year off in around the 97th.
  • 40th, I suck at fantasy ANYTHING!
  • What's the difference between Kyle Busch this year and last?

    May be...

  • I think he has the same driving technique as last year. The only difference is last year he wrecked himself more. Maybe he has somewhat harnassed his ability? That with the 30 more horsepower have helped him to win more races.

Which race was it last year that he and Gordon were gearing up for the restart, and the final few laps, when Rick came over the radio and told Kyle that if he was faster Jeff would let him go by. But, NOT to wreck Jeff and himself trying to race eachother for the win? Not sure why your question made me think of that.
  • He's one year older. He'll begin crashing out.
  • It is a combination of things. The Toyota's help, that car is finally competitive. Being with Joe Gibbs is better for Kyle. I think in the way the team handles him and Hendricks did favor Johnson and Gordon. Last, and most important, he has an extra year of experience and maturity.
  • Toyota.
  • About 35 horsepower and some great luck.
  • experience
  • I am going to get philosophical and say that its Karma. Kyle found the right place for him. You know people don't always want to change but sometimes change is good and in this case change was very good.
  • still just as ugly and big ear'd as ever-can't stomach looking at him!!
  • Hes not driving as wreckless as before, hes keeping it running strong at the end and he also is trying to show hendrick the mistake he made by replacing him
  • He is in a car that NASCAR gave an advantage to because they sucked last year. The Toyotas are not on an even playing field. That is the only reason he wins. He hit the wall 5 or 6 times at Darlington and came away with the win. There is no way any other car could have done that. He also couldn't win at Richmond so he had to push Jr out of the way. Edwards had a run like Busch earlier so Busch will slow down. Jr. is the only consistant one and the wins and the championship will come this year for Jr.
  • Toyota and Joe Gibbs
  • Horsepower, yes.
But I was Kyle's fan last year, too, and I think alot has to do with the fact that he's out to prove himself, he has a fire in him that I've never seen before, he's a kid on a mission.
So, horsepower+I'll show you attitude=the Kyle Busch we're seeing now.
  • Joe Gibbs and Toyota. Gibbs must be a heckuva guy to have kept Tony Stewart somewhat focused over the last bunch of years. All that horsepower is useless in a car that won't turn.
  • Extra horsepower and a governing body (NASCAR) willing to bend over for the team he drivers for (Toyota).

Other than that, he's just as cocky and wreckless as he's ever been. I never thought the day would come that Kurt Busch would seem mature compared to another driver...guess the brothers apple didn't fall far.
  • He's made jr's fans mad! But how cool is that?
  • That he's not at hendrick motorsports. I think he could have been as dominate last year as this year but I don't think Rick Hendrick wanted him to win because he wanted Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon to win. That's my opinion
  • I say a nothing but bunch of horsepower. Whats your opinion?
  • He can actually be himself, plus toyota did their homework over the off season!

    Go JGR!

  • Indy 500 tickets?

    May be...

  • If you're looking for scalped tickets, they're usu. going to go for at least 25-40% more than face value. However, if you're not into the pre-race festivities, you might be able to get these tickets at a discount, immediately before or immediately after the start of the race.

You don't mention how many you need. eBay has over 200 listings right now, but if you see a single or a set of tickets you want, you'd be best off doing the Buy It Now feature, so they have a chance to get into the mail to you, and you get them prior to Saturday (race is Sunday).

Newspaper: IndyStar does list tickets in their classified ads. You might be able to find some that way. If you see phone numbers, remember, Indianapolis area code is 317.

Ticket brokers: Again, you're looking premium price, if not more. They'll sell you anything, though. Remember ... the farther into the alphabet you go (regarding row), the higher your seat will be (ie, Row B is way-too close to the track - Rows W and double-lettered rows are MUCH better)

Two last things: www.imstix.com ... if you don't want the hassle of figuring out ticket brokers / scalpers, you can go there and purchase tickets. The event isn't sold out.

If you're really looking just to get in, go for the General Admission tickets. $20 each. That gets you into the infield, and you can lay out on a blanket, get a good sunburn, eat fried chicken, and watch cars go by. You can get those right at the gates day-of-race.

Sorry ... not a whole lot to go on regarding # tickets, and what price you're willing to pay max. per ticket. Give you a few options, though.
  • Does anyone know where I can get cheap Indy 500 tickets?
  • Just go and buy them at the track. The scalpers will deal.Never pay full price.Offer them a price and then be ready to walk.
  • If you live close, just go to the track. Or if your a risk taker you could do the same thing. It appears the unification has generated increased interest this year. Prices seem to be higher and they are disappearing from the ticket web sites at a fairly rapid pace. Good Luck.
  • Do you think Matty Kenseth is cute?

    May be...

  • He's alright, but I call Kevin Harvick my studmuffin!
  • No
  • NO !!!
    But he's a Hail of a driver !! Smart too !!!
  • i sure do,but i think denny hamlin is hotttt!!!!!!
  • he's a jack rousch robot
  • I think they are all cute!
  • I wouldn't say that Matt Kenseth is exactly cute, but when he turns his head and looks the other way, I look at his car like it's the sexiest car ever to be named Ford.
  • I don't think he is very cute. He is an awesome driver but really my type as far as looks are concerned.
  • yeah he's pretty cute. he is also a great person, i've met him :) and he's an awesome driver.
  • I think he's cute-ish. Wish he wouldn't slouch so much, though.
  • well i have asked this like 5 times(not really) and it never shows up(the truth) so i'll try again with different words
    nascar NASCAR
  • Sure, I think Matt's cute. I hear that he can drive a race car pretty good, too. : )
  • abso-freakin-loutleyy!
  • Yes I do and his son is even cuter. I think Kasey Kahne is the cutest though.
  • i think it's cute how "matty" and "cousin carl" play together after some of the races...

    ;-)
  • You do seem to like asking this question, I think I know the answer you're looking for-
Yes, Matty Kenseth is the most rockin' stud muffin hunka hunka burnin' love Adonis of a man that nascar has ever seen!
  • No I wouldn't call him "cute" but he is a great driver....Jimmie is smokin HOT!
  • HECK yes he is Really Cute!!! I think all the Roush guys are Cute though!!!
  • No, and I think he had a hair job
  • Matt is the MAN, super HOT and a Driver that is second to none, Mr Consistent is my guy!!!!!
  • Did you change your avatar?

    Geez! http://dalejrfan8sam.tripod.com/sitebuil...

Did any of you think that the All Star race was the most boring race this year?

    May be...

  • it was boring to me because jeff gordon dropped from 2nd to like 15th and stayed there for pretty much the whole race. other than that it was alright
  • the 600 better be good
  • Boring. They barly even touched!!!!!!!!
And the only reason Kasey Kahne won is cause of the fan vote!
  • They should have not changed the format. It was pretty boring. A lot of hype at first but they should have invert the starting spots at the end of each segment.
  • It was okay, but I've seen better Allstar races in the past, but it was cool to see Kasey win.. I was hoping for a Kurt and Kyle encore..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • yea it was pretty boring
  • nope I liked it
  • yeah i agree, there were no real cautions.... but i was so excited that Kasey won, he's my man
  • i thought it was boring but not because i like to see crashes. i thought it was boring because the field consistently got so spread out, and although some people were able to pass easily, there was no "three-wide" racing, no bumpin', no bangin', no rubbin' and hardly any exciting racing. every "segment winner" walked away with it. there wasn't one segment where there was "a race to the line".

and "purple," quit overgeneralizing. some of us real nascar fans like to see good hard clean racing, cars in packs, and at least some "three-and-four wide goin' into the corner..." and a wreck every now and then is not such a bad thing - at least it shows someone was TRYING, not TESTING all night.

the most exciting bits of the night were kyle's crew bowing for the fans, egging them on, and dale jarret "racin' the big brown truck," (so to speak), giving a last wave to his fans from the track. oh yeah, the "miss sprint cup" girls. definitely on my highlight reel.

and of course, the fact that a fan vote winner actually came from the back and won the race, that was really cool, but that was it. i can't imagine how boring the highlight reel for this race will be come next year's all-star week - at least compared to previous all-star races. they'll never make a half-hour special about this one.
  • What made it that way?
I wanted to see some beatin and bangin, no matter who won!
  • the outcome was great GO KAHNE#9
  • No I think the All-Star was exciting despite no cautions. no doubt the Open was more exciting. I think the Darlington race was the worst. The leader being up to 8 seconds above the 2nd placer? No, just no.
  • Kinda. I did not like this year's format. I like the invert better. Makes the best of the best on this given Saturday night rise to the top by doing some racing thru the pack. I hope they go back to the old format next year.
  • It was quite tame by All Star Race standards, which was the only thing that gave it a chance at NOT being boring.

1.5 mile tracks + COT = BORING, CRAPPY RACE! It's been proven at all 1.5milers so far this year.
  • I didnt think it was boring but thats just my thoughts on it.
  • No not boring. I like the different segments and the races were pretty competitive really. I mean there were some real fun things going on there.
  • The people that thought it was boring where the people that only like the sport cuz they crash

    So it was not boring
  • Yes, it was nothing but boring. Ride around for 25 laps, make pit stop, ride around for 25 more laps, take 10 minute break. Go back and ride around another 25 laps, make pit stop, go back and make 25 more laps. Race over. No cautions, no nothing. Yeah, it was really boring.
  • I didn't find it boring at all. I was there, though, and able to watch my driver drive from 24th up to 6th place. Pit and come out 2nd. Drop to 3rd and go on to win. I haven't seen Kasey cut through the field that well in a long time! I was happy!

  • damn ! rosbif got there first !!!!!!!
  • Just watched the ALL-Star?

    May be...

  • i did, and it wasn't for kasey. both "miss sprint cup"s - monica palumbo and anne-marie rhodes - make my highlight reel for the all-star race. they were definitely more exciting to watch than most of the racing that night...
  • I think the trophy girl did and she kept trying to push her way up behind Kasey to get in the shot, it was a riot.....
  • Who had a bigger smile when they announced that Kahne was the Fan favorite, Kasey ir the Sprint trophy girl if you have it recorded take a look it's a hoot.
BTW I missed it for my birthday party, not all of my family shares my passion for NASCAR unfortunately and I have the luxury of DVR and avoiding sports show, lol.
  • The Sprint girls for sure....they are hoping to get noticed and become rich and famous....who knows maybe get lucky enough to marry a Nascar driver then divorce him for half of everything he's got.
  • LOL. I know! I was mentioning that to my roommate and we both were cracking up laughing at her trying to get in every shot :D
  • JR Nation Read this?

    May be...

  • To see him lose a race is fun, or see him wreck without injury is great.
    '
but as true and blue as I am to Jr, I would not want to see this happen, and neither would Jr. he is not that kind of person

this would not only hurt Kyle, but could physically can a bad injury,.....no, sorry, this would not be funny at all.

as much as I love to see him put out of a race, no, this would be harmful and would really give racing a bad name.

    sorry, no...
  • I would prefer JR beating him on the track and not by someone hitting him in the head with a beer can that's just unsportsmanlike like and Dale has already said he is taking the high road. As a devoted member of junior nation since 2000 i would think that we should be able to take the high road to. It will make me happy at the end of the season when Kyle is looking up at junior and thinking maybe i need to change my way of doing things because no matter how many races he wins he will never have the respect or the following Junior has. Kyle will fall and i would bet it will be next weekend at the 600. Junior will end up with yet another top ten and maybe a win.
  • I wouldn't laugh. Physically assaulting someone isn't funny.
  • Oh my god, I can't believe I'm agreeing with Bo Bo!!
  • This would just prove that JR fans do not have any class at all. Most of the other fans know that, JR has class, but his fans NONE
  • showing that fans of Jr nation have no class wouldnt be funny
  • Well, as much as I "dislike" Kyle Busch, I wouldn't wish physical harm on him, he is human (I think...lol). Being a part of Jr. Nation, and the respect I have for Dale Jr. I wouldn't do anything like that. I'm way over the "incident" and I admire the way Dale Jr. handled it. I'm a true Dale Jr fan, win or not. He is a great racecar driver and his win is coming. Sure I can talk smack really good about Kyle Busch but I wouldn't wish physical harm on anyone. I respect Dale Jr. and want to show the same respect he want's to see from his fan's. To the answer that thinks Jr Nation has no class, you are wrong, not all of us would throw stuff or anything.
I agree with Iggy and wedge and dalejr4ever.

    Lynn
    Go Jr. #88!
  • I think Iggy is right, why try to hurt someone

it would be funny to see him get beamed, just so it didn't knock any more sense than he has already lost, by trying to put everyone on the track out of the race but himself.

yes, I could go for a little beer on his head, but no major injury.

wonder if he likes it cold or just plain warm...
  • how many of yall would laugh when kyle won a Darlington if some fans or jr nation threw a beer can or amp can at kyle an hit him in the head or body on live tv me i would died from laughing and then put it all over you tube an my space anybody agree and this has nothing to do with Kyle wrecking jr im over it
  • Poor Junior. He only wanted a racing career as good as his daddy's, not a damn cult.
  • Typical Jr Nation Throwing beer and Booing
  • Nope, I just want Dale Jr to beat him on the track....the Shrub is not worth throwing anything at all, waste of time, he gets off on the excitement, heck if you hit him in the head with a Amp, he'd take a bow..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • we are going to valence be Jr cant win stop hating
  • your a lost soul. Those were Tony Stewart fans. Or any of the other 42 drivers. Or aren't they f@xckin' allowed to have fans!?
  • He's amped up enough, hit him with a dose of Ritalin. lol
  • What?!?
  • This is why Jr fans have a bad reputation for being a lil' crazy. A question like this, a fan like this. Why does the rest of Jr Nation support this?
  • I would'nt, as a matter of fact, I'd probably punch the can thrower upside the head for giving the rest of us Jr fans a bad name. I might despise Kyle Busch, but I don't want to hurt the guy. Hell, I don't even really want to see him wreck, I'll live with a blown engine or something.

  • I'm wanting to get interested in the sport, and was wondering if someone could explain the basics in a very understandable way. I have almost no experience with the construction of cars, but am nonetheless intelligent, so if someone would please explain the basics of how the cars are set up, the rules of races, when the seasons start and end, average speeds, terminology, et cetera, it would be greatly appreciated.

Please take the time to write a detailed and informative description, and not a simple 3 sentence depiction.
  • Well, I think we should start by mentioning that Formula One is one of the most popular sports in the world today; in fact, following a survey conducted in 2003, F1 is the third most popular professional sport behind the Olympic Games (summer & winter) and the FIFA World Cup; however, since both the Olympics and the World Cup take place only every four years, that leaves F1 to be the most popular sport to take place on a yearly basis.

The Formula One World Championship is organized by its governing body, the sometimes controversial FIA or FГ©dГ©ration Internationale de l'Automobile since 1950.

In 2008, the Formula One season will count 18 rounds, of which 5 have already contended. More than 50% of the Grand Prix Calendar takes place in Europe, however, there is a fast moving shift to Asia which should claim the majority of races in the next few years. Furthermore, there are two new entries for the 2008 season, a race in the harbor of Valencia, Spain and a night race premiere in the streets of Singapore.

As of 2006, Formula One cars are running on 2.8 Litres V8 Engines (8 cylinders), with a top speed exceeding 310 km/h and a limit set at 19'000 rpm's (engine rounds per minute). Between 1996 and 2005, F1 cars ran 3 L V10 engines.

Formula One is exciting, although perhaps not as much as in the 1980's and early 90's because of the thrill and excitement of the speed. A difference of a hundredth of a second may mean the difference between 1st and 10th place for a driver.

Aerodynamics is a very important factor in Formula One, a car needs to be set-up to fit the conditions of a track. For example, on a fast track, you will want maximum Downforce on the car, as well as maximum cooling for the engine. Slower tracks, such as the mythical Monte Carlo Circuit in Monaco, where the slowest corner averages a top speed of 60 km/h, as opposed to the Spa-Francorchamps Circuit which hosts the Belgian Grand Prix, on which the top speed can go up to 319 km/h. On a slow track, you want low downforce and minimum cooling for the engine, as high downforce would slow down the car significantly and maximum cooling would tamper with the efficiency of the car's aerodyanmics.

Formula One cars have adjustable wings, however they may not be movable parts; meaning that wings can be adjusted manually during pit stops to increase or decrease downforce and the wings have to be fixed, not allowed to bend, which would give the car and driver an unfair advantage.

The number of laps in F1 varies from race to race, being that each track covers a different distance, however, a race must cover 300 km in average and the number of laps are set in retrospect to this value. In extreme conditions, a race may be ended before covering the full distance of 300 km or 2 hours, for as long as 75% of the race has been completed. For a distance inferior to 75%, the race can be interrupted, however, it must be restarted to cover at least the minimal distance.

A Grand Prix weekend includes two free practice sessions on Friday morning and afternoon (1h30mins each), one free practice session on Saturday morning (1 hour), a Qualifying session on Saturday afternoon (1 hour - see below for details) and the race on Sunday afternoon...all local times to where the race takes place.

In order to qualify for a race, a drivers best time in qualifying practice must be within 107% of the best time overall by the driver on Pole Position (the driver who will start first in the next day's race). If a driver cannot achieve a fastest lap under 107% of the leader's best time, he does not qualify. However, this rule is outdated nowadays, but was last used in 1994 and has remained on the books since then.

Qualifying sessions are divided into three portions: Q1, Q2 and Q3.

In Q1, all 22 cars (now 20 with the recent withdrawal for the season of the Super Aguri Racing team) have 20 minutes to record at least one time. When the 20 minutes expire, the drivers in the last 6 (now 5 positions) are eliminated from the rest of the session, the remaining 16 (now 15) cars proceed to Q2.

Q2 has the same procedure as Q1, also 20 minutes with the bottom 6 (now 5) cars eliminated and the top ten cars proceed to Q3.

Q3 thus only includes the top 10 cars, who now have 10 minutes to fight for the Pole Position. These top ten cars, have to start the session with the amount of fuel they will embark on the first stint of the race, from position 11 to 22 (or 20) still retain the option of adding or retracting fuel before the race.

During a race, each driver has a unique and secret strategy (as far as the public is concerned, other teams are not told of another driver's strategy, however, they usually make accurate estimates). During a race, drivers will need to change tires and refuel, however, where it gets interesting is how teams and drivers can play with amounts of fuel to gain an advantage on an opponent.

Finally, Formula One is the benchmark in technology, although the FIA is constantly changing regulations in the interest of a more interesting spectacle and thus coerces teams to invest further funds into development, it remains the measuring point for the technology we have on our road cars today, as well as the technology that will be standard on road cars in the future.

  • The twin 125's?

    May be...

  • Yes, DJ did drive the big brown truck around Lowe's last night. He was on the apron and not actually driving on the tracvk, though.
  • Someone told my husband that Dale Jarret drove the UPS truck around the track before the race last night (MAY 17th). Is this true or was he blowing smoke? We don't get Speed channel so we watched the race recap on nascar.com this morning and could find nothing about it. Any clarification??
  • yes, dj did get into a modified ups truck and he did drive it around the track, down on the apron. unfortunately, he did not "race" it but took it for a leisurely ride during which he drove and waved to his fans, and alongside him, a passenger who won a contest. it was interesting, but not as interesting as if he would have tried to actually take it up on the banking...

but, what does this have to do with the twin 125s (now the gatorade duel 150s)?
  • Tonites pre-race mentioned Kyle Busch getting a test in F-1.?

    May be...

  • Yes they said it, I would give real money to see the telemetry of one of those laps, few can keep the throttle open,he is no Hamilton or Montoya.Maybe he can share a flight with Danica and pick up some pointers when she goes fot her test.
  • Yes it is true.

Kyle Bush is one of the few talented drivers in the NASCAR Nextel series. His aggressive style of driving would be ideal in the F-1 series.

He reminds of another great, Schumacher.
  • Yes, he has said he has been given the chance to test F-1, hope he takes it, and stays over there, ha ha
  • I can understand Toyota trying to get anything into one of their cars short of the proverbial monkey and his football, but they have a pretty successful thing here why upset it?
  • He has been given the opp to test a F1, but it will be just for entertainment for KB. He has no interest in moving. Jr fans would like to see it cause it would move him up one more spot in every race, cause KB is always ahead of him. Sorry Jr fans you all know KB is the better driver, and he is in less equipment.
