What are you eating tonight while you watch the cup race?

May be...

  • Chips & hot sauce & Sprite Zero.
  • I'm going to eat:

    Chips (with dipping sauce)
    Coca-Cola
    Popcorn
  • We are making homemade Pizza's, and probably Miller Lite and Bud Select, and Corona Light, and homemade peach ice cream.. (i'll be on the treadmill all day tomorrow to work it off...

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • Pizza and Miller Lite!
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • After last nite, it looks like left-over cold fried chicken and nachos. Probably drinking Iced tea, with an occasional shot of Yukon.

Tina...I didn't know anybody else ate P-nut butter/syrup. Mrs. Butterworths is best!

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • If I was watching, I'd have Bridge Mix and Chardonnay. I won't be watching, so I'm having Diet Pepsi and those new chips by Frito Lay's called Cheddar Baked Potatoes.
  • It looks like it might be breakfast if I don't get off this computer and go get something to eat sometime soon.

I don't drink alcohol anymore so I might make some tea or pick up a coke.

Definitely get some corn chips and salsa. Might even try some hog souce, cheese, and crackers (Crunch Crunch Yum Yum).

Might swing by the store and pick up a jalapeno burger.

Might mix some peanut butter (crunchy) and syrup (Log Cabin or Aunt Jemima) and dip some toast or biscuits in it for a sweet snack .

Maybe I might eat a vegetable (highly unlikley)
I have my bottle of Crown Royal ready for the race

I just ate a piece of left over pizza
  • That's a good question. I will probably have an Italian Ice and some Nachos with cheese with a Vanilla Coke.
  • Tri Tip and Beer,Oh wait Beer and Tri Tip!!!!
  • We BBQ burgers, mmmm....burgers :)
  • Probrably crow. LOL! I really want to see Jr win all out to shut the mouths of doubters and haters but I don't know if he or any of the chevys have enough HP to beat the toyotas.

Just in case though I am having a rib eye and salad and some mixed fruit. Maybe an AMP to wash it all down.
  • Well, I'll just be watching it, but if I could get some snacks, it'd be:
    Dr. Pepper

  • No eating, just drinking! :)
  • Grilling sausage and Boudin, wash it down with cold Miller light.
  • Was that hardees that sponsored denny the same fast food hardees?

    May be...

  • You must not live on the East Coast

    Hardees are every where here.
  • Hardees just had sale prices down!!!!!!!! They just had a buisness accident!!! I LOVE THEIR FOOD!!!!!!!!!
  • Its CarLz Jrs too
  • Yes it was Hardees!

This is what it said under one of the pictures of Denny Winning!!!! (Yahoo Sports)

DAYTONA BEACH, FL - JULY 04: Denny Hamlin, driver of the #20 Hardee's/Coca-Cola Toyota, burns out after winning the NASCAR Nationwide Series Winn-Dixie 250 at Daytona International Speedway on July 4, 2008 in Daytona Beach, Florida. (Photo by Jason Smith/Getty Images for NASCAR)
  • They cut some locations but they are adding new ones in the Midwest - better locations for business I guess, and the new ones seem to be busy all the time, so I guess their restructuring worked, but yes that is the same Hardees
  • Yes it is that Hardees. They are still in business... I think they just cut some of their locations.
  • They have always been in business but demand and competition from other resturants has shut them out. On the west coast Hardee's is known as Carls Jr. and there famous Carl's Jr chicken nuggest. In most other places it is known as Hardee's.
  • They never went out of business, and yes, it's the same Hardees.
  • Yeah, it's the same restaurant. Most of the Hardee's stayed out west, there's still a few of them in Vegas. Carl's Jr. took over the rest.
  • You should ask this question in the food section. I doubt there are many fans on here who know anythimg about Hardees. But my guess is that they did if they sponsored Hamlin's car.
  • Yep same Hardees (sometimes known as Carl's Jr.)

I know they exsist heavily down south, furthest north I've seen them is Route 13 in Delaware.....
  • Hardee's sucks
    Wendy's is way better
White Castle is just plain fun!
  • No, they never went out of business. A lot of stores closed but they never went under.
  • i thought hardees went out of buisness? did they get restarted?
  • they never went out of business. they were bought out by carl jrs. years ago but corpoate decided to leave the name. they changed the menu considerably, but they still have fried chicken, and that same good breakfast menu they always had.
  • What did you all think of the NASCAR NATIONWIDE RACE?

    May be...

  • The race was exciting for the first half of the race, then it seemed like no racing til the end. Overall, it was decent at best.
    Congrats Denny!
  • boring= they better do more than that tonight
  • It was turning into a really great race until the last 10 laps when the lap-down cars got in the way of the racing. The Hendrick car (Jr) was trying to figure out his strategy to use on the two Gibbs cars that had teamed up. It would have been interesting to see that strategy play out (if he could have pulled it off). Jr didn't have any help.

I see Kyle was picking up on some of Dale Jr's plate race expertise. It would have been nice to see if Jr could have put a move on Kyle and possibly Denny also. That is one of Jr's strong points is working the draft at restrictor plate races.

I was disappointed with the green white finish. It was also bad to see Mike Wallace get taken out by his nephew there at the end. Mike should have shown his nephew a little more patience. After all those old cars get upset easier aerodynamically than the new cot. That's racin' in those old cars at high speed tracks.

It was actually racing and not rain, fuel, pit strategy, etc... that determined the outcome and that made the race interesting in itself.
  • that was some excellent racing. i loved to hear carl edwards after the race. the man was still so mad steam was nearly coming from his ears, but that turned to a smile as he talked about how fun it was to race up there with denny, kyle, dale, and clint; about how much the cars were able to move around; and how much good racing went on through those long green flag runs.

the leaders (the above, plus keselowski and a few others who shuffled in and out) were running high, running low, blocking, switching lines, trading places, cutting back and forth - and almost all without incident. yeah, kyle bumped reutimann a little bit and took his "warning." there was even humor as reutimann's crew chief tried calming him down by telling him to file it away to remember "for the end of the race" - as if reutimann had a snowball's chance of catching and keeping up with the leaders on any run over a few laps.

and what an ending, with the wallaces getting into it, everybody wondering what kyle and junior would do - work together to beat hamlin or split apart, carl getting put behind clint and then nearly wrecking out trying to get back by (great save by carl and bliss), and denny's performance coming back from two seconds back within the last ten or so laps and then fending off all comers made it incredibly exciting. and all three of the leaders had a great chance to win - what a race it would have been had carl not ended up down in the infield on that last restart...

and to finish it all off, denny's interview was actually one of the best i've seen him give in years - thanking his team and recognizing all they did for him when he came in, and now during this, his last ride in the #20. kyle was mellow and appreciative that he got his sponsor their first finish instead of tearing up the car again like at kentucky. junior was ready to start the head's a rollin' from the #88 crew, and then he spent minutes congratulating the gibbs guys not on their engines, but on their cars' bodies - going for "downforce" and handling over brute speed. and then to top it off, he congratulated tony stewart.

and then there's bowyer's brilliant comment that a "monkey" could win in the #20 car - classic clint sportsmanship: he had no problem running with and sometimes leading the gibbs cars, edwards, and junior throughout the race but couldn't close the deal - so he does his best to downplay hamlin's win. and mike wallace looked like a madman on the run during his interview. i froze the frame a couple of times to explain what was going on to someone else, and i swear i've seen that look before in the county mental ward (in movies of course ;-) - the red face, wild eyes, mussed hair, and bizarre grin... especially while saying that he had "met" with steven already to discuss what had happened. and then there was steven's glaring absence from any post-race interviews.

who could ask for anything more...
  • Joe Gibbs domination baby!
  • I thought it was really good. I liked the green, white checkered at the end and the clean racing between Busch, Earnhardt Jr. and Hamlin. Lots of racing; not too much drama.
  • The Cup race Saturday night with a whole lot of drama, would be so much fun!
  • I enjoyed it as well. I don't watch races for the wrecks so this was a great one in my eyes. There was alot of give and take, and sportsmanship. Bliss could have totally screwed Carl but he let off, there seemed to be alot of that type of racing, except for the Wallace's. Hehe. It was a good one.
  • I thought it was AWESOME!!! Denny is one of my favorite drivers so to see him win was great. Especially since that is going to be his last race for that team for awhile! I thought it was amazing how before one of the commercial breaks Denny was 2 seconds back then when they came back he was leading the race!!!! I am just really glad that Denny got to spent the last race for that team in victory lane!!!!
  • I beg to differ, fairly boring for the most part (single-file, spread out racing). Still looking forward to the Coke Zero 400, though.

PS: LOL, I've never seen Mike Wallace that mad before!
  • i missed it and it sounds like a great racing. i did hear hamlin won
  • I would have rather #88 or #5 could have won but #88 is back in 2nd place in Nationwide points...Wish Dale Jr & #5 could have pulled off a win...oh well there is tomorrow..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • it was pretty boring until the overdrive (fancy word for green-white-checker)...it was pretty good when mike wallace went storming across the tri-oval grass to find steve wallace....mike's interview was hilarious... i'd hate to be rusty b/c he's in the middle of it...
  • Wasn't bad, wasn't great either. Just somwhere in between. Just kinda wish Bowyer and Jr drafted with one another to actually make it look like a race at the end. But then again green white checker restarts don't quite work that well at RP tracks.

Figure it takes them one lap alone just to get up to speed.
  • It was kind of boring. Not much excitement when there is a dominant car.
  • ya i was expecting kyle to wreck denny
  • Toyota Extra HP?

    May be...

  • is it just me or is everybody getting tired of Denny/ Kyle /Tony winning every week an to be real Im a die hard nascar fan but if nascar don't fix the Toyota problems Im going to stop watching it an just watch the Cup race cause to me it showed tonight that Jr an clint tryed to draft an chouldnt even get near them Toyotas
  • In the Nationwide series the Chevys are still using the old SB2 engine. In the Cup series the Chevys run the new RO7 engine. The Chevy teams are pushing for the RO7 to be used in the Nationwide series so it will even the playing field a little. Nascar says they are trying to save the teams money, but it is costing them money by losing out on prize money. Nascar needs to let them run the RO7 then we'll see who has the horses.
  • If NASCAR doesn't start to control this they will lose fans. No one wants to see Kleenex Kyle and his rice burner win every race.
  • Hey they were,nt crying when the HMS crew were dominating...You,re just pissed that an import company can do better than detroit!!!
  • Hang on, I'm sure Chevy is working something that will blow them dang toy cars off the planet..Yeah I'm sick of toy cars already...Don;t worry I hear theres nothing to worry about, but it might be next yr...Toy cars you will eat Chevy dust next yr, enjoy the ride while its lasts Toy cars..

Go Dale Jr & Hms & Chevy..
  • duh!!! toyota is not chinese. toyota is japanese. toyota usa is made in america.

and double duh!!! somehow the irony didn't escape me that the word some are looking for is spelled "parity" - "parody" means something else completely - something similar to what i might think this question was if i didn't know you were serious.

and again, just like i posted last week, this is old news. they went over it again like three times tonight - toyota is using the same engine in both cup and nns cars - the nns engines are just "reigned in" versions to cut down on their overall horsepower.

yes, it still is probably able to put out more horses than the others, but nothing has kept chevy from working their new engines (the R07, which is now used in all the cup chevys) into the nationwide series. rick hendrick said it again tonight. they are working on it. why they haven't done it sooner is beyond me...

chevy whupped @$$ all last year and the year before and no one complained - now they've fallen behind toyota - in particular the gibbs toyotas, which are shipped in pieces to gibbs and built and tuned there. not every toyota team is dominating and other makes have won, just not as much.

so if it pisses you off that much that you can't stand to watch, don't. quit your bellyachin' about toyota and start bellyachin' about why the other manufacturers haven't been doing all they can to achieve "parity" by lobbying nascar to run their new engine packages before just recently... they've been running the engine in cup since last year (remember the early problems that gibbs had with the new chevy engine package mid-last year?) - plenty of time to develop it further for use in the nationwide series.
  • I am getting pretty sick of the Toyota/Gibbs domination, but I agree with dalejr4ever. There is a reason Chevy is the most winning make in Nascar. Just wait, Toyota is on borrowed time. I'm sure Chevy isn't sitting back watching all this and just saying "oh well". Chevy by far has most of the best drivers in the series. Toyota has Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, and for now Stewart who they are about to lose (to Chevy). Kyle and Denny are good but up against HMS, RCR, DEI, and Tony's pending new team they are outnumbered. Once Chevy gets caught up in hp no one will even remember what a Toyota is ;)
  • all the toyotas need to go back to CHINA!!!
    let the chinese drive'em!!!!!!
i want to see ford dodge chevys!!!!!!
    let the toyoties BURN!!!!!!
  • well if either Dodge Chevy of Ford could find a way to get a performance gain, we wouldn't be in such a dilemma. Maybe someone will figure this thing out. It can't be that difficult. I know I could do it
  • screw chevy,dodge and toyota,
    Ford will fix it first
roush does not want to go broke
  • The harder NASCAR attempts parody the harder the teams work to remove it. With handling problems readily fixed between makes and attempts to limit horsepower, or increase it unilaterally NASCAR can make a mess of things. Toyota definitely has a horsepower advantage for now. Chevy will equal it and then Ford and Dodge will complain and we will be back at square one again. Tonight it was very obvious, tomorrow night we will have to wait and see. Jr and Clint had very strong cars tonight but in the end they were no match for that Toyota power on take off.

I like what the late great Dale Sr said once. Or more than once. Take off the restrictor plates, build the fences higher and move the fans back and run what you brung.
  • well Tony Pooturd said those rice burners had an extra 20hp in them.
  • Its no different than Jimmie and Jeff winning half the races last year.
  • Actually Jr was hanging in there pretty good by himself until the lap cars got in the way. Rick Hendrick said something about the extra horsepower after the Busch race. Hopefully they will develop the new engine soon and bring some extra hp to the Chevys again.

I honestly feel once the chase starts you will see someone other than Toyota on top. Toyota teams are showboating right now but I know that there are some teams that sandbag and come out once the racing really counts. Just a little something to keep in mind as the chase rolls around.

    Added:
Keep in mind that unlimited testing has just been allowed. There may be more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye (with the new Chevy engine).
  • I can't really say that I'm tired of seeing Gibbs win. lol

    Edit: A monkey can't drive a car!
  • new Chevy engine coming to a track near you very soon.
  • I'm right there with you when it comes to being a die hard fan...i too believe that toyota definately has something more powerful under their hood. there ain't nothing that is more fun to watch (besides the cup races) than the NNS, but it's very very boring to watch the #20 car win week after week, it was like jimmie johnson winning every week last year...I'm with Bowyer when he said a monkey could drive that 20 car...
  • 4.7.08

    How about them D boys?

    May be...

  • How about them DEI boys? they seem to found some much needed steam under the hood . but do you think they will be that strong in the race an do you think #15 Paul M will be able to hold on i mean that be a 1st time dei Lined up 1 & 2
  • Paul has shown he can get around this place. Its just his lack of experience most people dont want to jump right behind him. Even still he showed he can race up front at the datona 500. And truex seems to always get wrecked so hopefully he can keep it on the track and you will see him finish pretty strong. Almirola can drive and that being said his stripes on the back of the car has not shown to help any rookie at daytona and dega but if he has a strong car or make it strong and stays out of the big one he could be a threat possibly. Smith I really dont know to be honest =).
  • IT WOULD BE NICE TO SEE THEM DO SOMETHING GOOD
  • Yeah, but they still have to finish the race...
  • If they qualify where they are now, I'll be interested to see how long they stay there once the green flag drops..
  • Wow, sure didn't see that coming. I thought Kurt Bush would be up there somewhere, not 27th, wonder what happened to him. Truex-25th? What did he do different? Should be a good race.

Jr is in 3rd...YaY. Johnson 21st and Gordon 18th!

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • i think they'll do the reverse of the dodges in february - they qualified horribly but finished well...
  • Pretty impressive for them DEI guys.

Gloria...both Kurt Busch and MTJr are in back up cars without any practice time.

    Go Jr!
  • this is an impound race people
    qualifying dont mean squat
  • I'm really happy at how much their engine program looks to have improved, but thats mostly because that means the RCR boys have the same stuff :)

And I think it all depends on how well their cars will drive tomorrow night. Track position is important but the race is going to come down to handling like it has the past few years. You can have 20 more hp than the rest of the field but it wont do you any good if you have to let off the throttle halfway through the turns.
  • Lets all remember its not where you qualify..its where you finish.. Glad there was atleast some good news for DEI this weekend.. Happy for Mark Martin....

Go Dale Jr & Hms & Jr Motorsports
  • Poles don't pay any points. Look for a Hendrick or Gibbs driver to win the race.
  • Why is Heikki Kovalainen so popular within McClaren, surely his results suggest hes been a failure?

    May be...

  • he is a better driver than hamilton............he prepares the car setup......he is doing everything for mclaren.........he is the best guy from that stupid team..........i appreciate him a lot and i hope sooner or later that he'll come to ferrari......the place for true champions(except Senna-which is the greatest champion who never drove a Ferrari)............
  • It might be because Kovalainen is the better of the two McLaren drivers
  • 6th in the Chamionship behind both BMW's in a superior car and only two podiums, I know hes a nice guy and everything but people are talking about Hamiltons season going down the plughole, Kovalainens never got started.
  • I guess he genuinely gets along with everyone unlike some other drivers.
  • Heikki is as good as Lewis is, but he was very unlucky....after all, it's his first year in the team, he must learn the way McLaren works and then he'll bring some great results......
  • Kovalainen's been using up all the bad luck - that's why!

Several times he's looked set to win or get a podium or a good position then something has come along and spoilt the whole show - either the car has broken in some way or the safety car comes out and spoils his strategy or he gets a grid penalty or gets caught in someone else's accident...
  • Quality Driver Australia he should have got 2nd if i wasnt for the safety car which would put him in a better position now he has just had bad luck
  • He's a good racer, he's just been a bit unlucky that's all. I'm hoping he can shake it off and not be plagued like Kimi was at McLaren.
  • Can someone help me out here?

    May be...

  • Coke 600 at Charlotte, same race Casey Mears won. Kyle finished 3rd.

His car had a black Coke zero scheme, it looked awesome.

But sadly enough, it was is first top 5 in 9 years
  • It was the 600. Gas Mileage race, C. Mears won K.petty 3rd.
  • What race last season did Kyle Petty come in 3rd (or 9th) ? I remember saying "Boy that must've felt like a win". because of it. He announced retiring or something then and his wife was there crying etc...
This comes from another question about Kyle retiring and I thought he already announced it...but was slow in doing so like Mark Martin.
  • Yeah, it was the 2007 Coca-Cola 600 when Casey Mears won and Kyle Petty got third. It was a fuel mileage race.
  • I couldn't remember what race it was but car18 answered that but I remembered Casey Mears won and Kyle came in 3rd but I don't remember if he said anything about retiring sorry I've slept since then LOL!!

edit: yeah me too that's how I actually remembered who won but for the life of me I couldn't remember where it was until I saw car18's answer then I was like yeah now I remember ( I think I'm getting old haha!! LOL)

edit: see Maggie I told ya about the thumbs down I think I could win LOL not so sure what I said wrong here but oh well !!!
  • Wheres Racer X?

    May be...

  • ???

  • where ever you want him to be... and who is driver x? maybe start asking questions that make sense and u might get more answers!!

Doesn't sicken you that every 5 minutes of an ESPN IRL broadcast are focused on Danica Patrick?

    May be...

  • haven't noticed. I wish they could focus more on Marco though. I love that guy!
  • they should have more coverage on the better drivers but she is a fan favorite and they should show more of people that have a chance of winning every week
  • They need to show more of her. She is very attractive and if the IRL is to grow they need to leverage that for all it is worth to lure viewers.
  • Thats a big exaggeration, but they do talk about her more than a lot of the drivers. It does get sort of annoying, but I'm actually ok with it because it might bring in more fans. They should just talk about the other drivers more.
  • IRL uses her as publicity, as long as she keeps doing good and if she wins another race, you have not heard anything yet, she did make history.. So we just have to listen to it, you do have a mute button on your remote...don't you.. I also think she is motivation for a lot of young women out there who would like to be just like her someday....IRL needs all the publicity it can get so sorry you are gonna hear about her...

    Go Helio

  • Who thinks Mexican n Black Americans should be more welcome at Nascar Event?

    May be...

  • How's this grab everyone - here's a new team owner (He's one of the greatest football receivers of all time...oh yeah...he's black too!)

Hot off the press from Boston.com

"Moss buys 50 percent of truck team

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --All-Pro receiver Randy Moss is now a NASCAR team owner, announcing Thursday he's purchased 50 percent of a Truck Series team.

Randy Moss Motorsports will make its debut on July 19 at Kentucky Speedway with Willie Allen driving the No. 81 Chevrolet. The number was changed from 46 to reflect Moss' NFL jersey number.

Moss has been eyeing entering NASCAR for some time, but said he decided to buy half of Morgan-Dollar Motorsports rather than build a team from the ground up. Moss wants the team to eventually move up to the premier Sprint Cup Series."

    Good for you Randy!
    Go Randy Moss Motorsports!
    Go Patriots!
  • You are welcome, come to the next race near you.
  • in what way?

Its almost like goin to a football game. Anybody that likes racing can go whether your brown or black or white etc.
  • Last time I heard, anyone who can afford the ticket price was welcome at NASCAR events.
Can you provide a link that shows otherwise? Thanks.
  • yes
  • black people- hell yeah but they gotta get into it

Mexicans- maybe if montoya didnt wreck everyone except kyle busch
  • Everyone is welcome, all are welcome. Just come to one and see the huge variety of folks there.

Great times, give it a shot.
  • What do you mean exactly? All people are welcome at a nascar event, if they have the $$$ for tickets.
  • Nobody ever said blacks and Mexicans weren't welcome? that would be slightly ignorant to say that they aren't
  • How much more welcome do you want to be? Need a red carpet? Need tickets handed to you for free? Just because of the lack of diversity of drivers (which is changing fast) doesn't mean any color or race can't go watch. Buy a ticket like anyone else, and go watch a race. And if you can't afford to go to the race (it does add up over a whole weekend and adds up fast), grab a group of buddies and huddle around the tv and cheer on your favorite driver.
  • why would shouldn't they, they are people like everyone else...

    and an extra comment:

QUIT THE REDNECK THING, ITS GETTIN VERY OLD!

In 5 years u can have chinese plp racing here so come'on
  • YES

a lot better than white people
  • My best friend is black and he loves all racing dirt, rail, oval you name it.
  • he just asked a question he didn't say anybody is racist. anyway I think it would be good to welcome mexicans and african americans to the sport because it would give nascar a different image so non fans won't just say its a stupid sport for rednecks
  • Probably the same number of people that feels like white Americans should be more welcomed at basketball events.
  • they are just I dont think there very intrested
  • I've been to a few NA$CAR events and they are just as welcomed as any other person.
  • I don't think they are not welcome, just maybe not interested.
  • No. They are already as welcome as anyone else.

What exactly do you think should be done to make them more welcome?

    Ever been to a race?
  • Why aren't white people allowed in basketball. Oh wait, we are but the white fan base isn't that big, vise versa for Nascar.
  • why should they be "more"welcome? they pay for a ticket they should be as welcome as the next person or like in other things should we make them more welcome by giving them a "minority" discount.would that make you feel "more" welcome?
  • I'm a white dude and I'm scared of those things....
Thats a whole different breed of people at those things--- SCARY!!

I feel more comfortable walking around Harlem.
  • they are welcome in America but maybe not interested in the cars idk its against the law for them not to be welcome
  • What would have to happen in order for them to be MORE welcome? I thought everyone WAS welcome at NASCAR races. Are you tr0!!$ going to take the 4th off or do you get double time for working on a holiday?
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • If you had ever been to a Nascar race you would be shocked to see how many people there are NOT white. Every race I have been to there were many colored in the crowd and they were not treated any differently than any of the white people.
  • They are welcome... It is Idiots like you that spread lies about NASCAR fans being racist!
  • Who wants to run for Vice President, my term is up...?

    May be...

  • I'll run but probily never win
    youre a great vp tom

    I liked all Dales schemes
  • I vote for myself. Who wants me to win?
  • That was a pretty short term there Tom. I think you do a fine job and should stay put, I give you a star.

I have to say if you decide to step down my vote next choice would be GODSMACK

    (Ouch....maybe Secretary of Defense....funny, funny!!)

    Tough crowd today.

    >>>Ooops.....favorite paint for Sr. always the Godwrench #3
  • There isn't enough money or perks in the world that could get me to take on that kind of responsibility!!
And I'm still waiting for the whole I'll put an end to the Kyle Busch/Dale Jr. fued you promised!!!!

Typical politician, making promises that you can't possibly keep!! :)
Other than that you're doing a fine job Tom, I'm voting you a second term.

The one that made him the man in black #3 Goodwrench!!
  • I vote for Godsmack as well.. That Sully dude is so freakin hot! You have to introduce me there Godsmack dude!@
  • The one with the Nilla Wafers.
  • I am in the running and my goal is to put an end to delusional nation. VOTE4ME
  • I will re-reun though. Star for me to stay Vice President or thumbs up whoever you want to take over.

Nascar question: What is your favorite Dale Earnhardt Sr. paint scheme?
  • You are a good VP!

The Taz car was my favorite.
  • pick me pick me................ jumps up and down....... lol my fav is the rebel look................ love my good old boy's...................!
  • VP TOM G! Your the only one I would look to as a VP--

You take your job seriously--honer someone every day on this forum in a unique way. Never missing a day. You in invent great questions (this is one of your worst questions though---(I cant believe resigning even crossed your mind!) But I guess you are one for fair elections which makes you even more qualified to stay in the position you are in VP.

Therefore it is my conclusion to keep you as VP and no one else. In all seriousness you are a perfect fit.

On a Nascar note I am sure looking forward to Daytona paint scheme black #3!

Edit: Maybe--I can be 'legal council lawyer liaison' for Nascar nation someday.

    TOM G VP for VP!
  • Tom for VP!

My fave Dale Earnhardt car was the gold Bass Pro/Goodwrench car. 2 nd place car is the Olympics car.
  • I didn't know we had polls or votes on here.. Who are the Republicans and who are the Democrats? What, Are Liberals allowed in?

The Taz schemes I always enjoyed..
  • Sure, I'll try and run. I'll give it a shot.

My favorite dale Sr paint scheme was the 2000 Peter Max or the Taz car.
  • I rspect your drop out and put full support behind godsmack

    taz paints
    i wish a good campaighn to every1!
  • Wow, that was a short term. I starred though. OR you could give your spot to the WANNA-BE Jr Nation Prez...give him something to do. I have no interest though.

The one and only black GM Goodwrench #3!
  • What are your thoughts on Elliott Sadler?

    May be...

  • Elliot is a very talented driver who needs to be with a better team.Sorry but I'm not impressed with Everenham now.
  • I like him ,he's a good driver and a great guy .
  • His "in disguise" commerical is the funniest commercial NASCAR has right now.
  • i enjoy his sunoco spotter commercial
  • I've always liked him such a great guy, love his sense of humor, I'm glad his Cup team is getting better and Elliott is getting some top 10 and top 5 finishes. I'm sure we are going to see Elliott in Victory Lane, he is pretty dang good on restrictor plate tracks.. Yes i agree its the same 3 or 4 drivers on here that get all the attention.. I know he is your fav so you have to be happy with Elliott this yr, I'm so happy for Elliott and all his fans....I love his Sunoco commercial he pulls it off great... I'd say he is one great southern boy, love his accent, and I know wins are not far away....

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
    (congrats Kurt B#2) I lost a bet
  • Elliott has always been one of my favorite drivers. He is a great person, a gentleman, just luv his accent. If it weren't for bad luck, he wouldn't have any. Seems to always get caught up in somebody else's mess. He is way over due for a trip to victory lane. It was great to see him in the top 10 for a change.
He should of been the new Bud Man! That would of been the perfect replacement for Junior. He's the outdoor type and has a great sense of humor. You can picture him as a beer drinker...Lol. It's time for his mental picture to change from his car flipping numerous times to winnin a race! Great story Maggie! Thanks for sharing that. =o`)
  • I actually like Elliot, come on he's a VA boy. Next state over for me. I think a lot of the time he is over shadowed by his team mate Kasey Kahne. In addition, Elliot is an excellent short track racer.

In his rookie year (Nationwide) he go the pole at Daytona and then 3 more poles during that year

He won for the Wood bros at Bristol.in 1999, gosh they had not had a win sense 1993. Good for him!

Sadler has had many accomplishments in driving. I just wish he would have better luck this year. Humble man too, does not complain really or pick at other driver. Loves to race.
  • I enjoy Elliott! He seems down to earth, loves his racing but also loves hunting and being with his family. I always felt if Bud was going to abandon Junior they should have picked up Elliott to sponsor. He was more of a "Bud guy" in my mind than Kasey.
  • I really like Elliott! (and I will probally be sporting his avatar soon for the bet with you!! =:) but that's okay cause I think he is a great guy and driver that has alot of bad, bad luck! I also think he is very underrated no one gives him the credit he deserves or fears him the way they should but one of these days he is gonna prove to them that , that will work to his advantage and he'll sneak up on them and beat them!! (that's the day I'll be in a #19 right Tom LOL) but really Elliott is really funny and a good guy and I like him alot!!

    *Good Question*

    **Maggie I love that story***
  • I like Elliott always have. He is a good ole boy with a huge drive to win, I hope someday soon he gets to pull into victory lane. Love his commercials too.

Well, my favorite driver is Junior so I will just leave it at that.
  • Don't hold back. I can take it if you don't like him.

There has been a lot of complaints about only talking about 3 or 4 drivers on here all the time and I've noticed it myself so post a question about your favorite driver and let's change things up.
  • He's my favorite driver!

A wonderful person, so nice when you meet him, takes the time to talk and visit with each of his fans as much as he can. He does amazing fund raisers for Autism Awareness and really tries to donate all the money he possibly can.

I think he's in a rut right now and I honestly would like to see him find a new ride (but that's just my opinion......).
  • he should be one of the top drivers in the sport. however, he is not and i think it is because evernham gives all the best stuff to kahne. which is stupid because i think kahne is one of the most overrated drivers in the sport
  • What is not to like about Elliott Sadler?? He has some tough breaks over the years, but this year even with no wins, I see him running more consistent. He is one of the drivers I really hope can get a win this year. As long as the "stars align" so to speak, he has decent cars, equipment, team and talent. He is one of the Good Guys in the garage area.
  • Well with the medias constant fawning over Kyle and Jr its kind of hard to really learn anything about any other drivers besides those guys or your favorite. But from what I have seen from Elliot he seems like a really great guy. He is absolutely hilarious on trackside when I watch. I've always been curious to see how he would do in truly top equipment because I feel like he really hasn't had the chance to show everything he has with the teams he's been with so far in his career.
  • Elliot is one of my favorites and my wife's very favorite. Nobody is more likeable than Elliot. He is snake bit though on racing. He seems to have his share of bad equipment and bad luck(sometimes brought on himself), but what a gutsy move at Infineon to race 2 laps on flat tire.
I really wish Elliot were with a better race team because I think you would see many more wins from him.... Go 19.
  • I like Elliott a lot. He's funny, and he seems like he'd be a fun person to hang out with.
I've felt bad for him this year, because his teammate's been doing so well and he's struggled a bit. You know he's got to be feeling some pressure to win.
It was great to see him get a top 5 finish at Loudon. He hasn't forgotten how to win. I think he'll do it soon, and I'll be very happy for him.
  • I like him. I love that commercial he did with Rutledge last year for the All-Star race. I love the part in the commercial where he says, "A waffle maker?!". Here's the commercial:

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=TUto694d2LY

Otherwise, he's a very funny guy and he's an OK driver.
  • Considering my favorite driver is probably included in your list of "3 or 4 drivers" I will not be asking a question...

But I don't mind Elliot. He seems like a nice enough guy. One thing's for sure though...it seems like he NEVER catches a break or is always in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He's good friends with JuneYer so he's ok in my book.
  • I don't dislike him, I HATE him!!! He has wrecked my favorite driver Tony Stewart TWICE this year by doing stupid things!!! At Darlington AND Dover! And at Dover WHAT WAS HE THINKING!!!! He took out like 8 really good cars!!! One of them being my other favorite driver Denny Hamlin!! And it was not like Tony And Denny had a little damage, there cars were TORE UP!! Me being the huge Nascar fan that I am, how do u think I felt seeing BOTH of my favorite drivers taken out of the race at LAP 18!!! Let me tell you it really did not feel very good! It would have one thing if someone would have wrecked him to start the wreck, but he caused and started the WHOLE THING!!!!!!!!!
  • I've always liked Elliott, he was one of the first drivers I cheered for when I really got into racing. I think he had a decent deal going at Yates and the move has hurt him. What I don't understand is how Kasey can do good in similar cars and why Elliott can look good in practice and qualifying but not get a decent finish. He is extremely likable but somehow his driving doesn't seem to be up to the standard that it once was. I fear his best days are already behind him but that he will be a great TV personality in the booth or for pre and post race shows.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • I like Elliot, very funny guy, beaning Jeff Hammond and "rabbit release" are priceless. Damn shame he's had no luck as a driver lately. But for a guy who's only driven Fords and Dodges his whole career, I like him.
  • Elliot is great! He is a funny guy, I have liked him since he was DJ's teamate at Yates. He makes a good edition to Evernham, and the Sadlers are always funny to watch in interviews (so cute with the southern accent).
  • I love Elliot. He's in my top three favorites for a long while. It's just so frustrating to see him with such bad luck race after race. Last week I loved he finished in 5th. When the put the reslts up on the tower I yelled and pointed at Elliots 5th place win while others were cheering Kurt Busch. I was soaking wet...thrilled to the bone.
I have seen his interviews, watched his commercials, even tried his recipes...there isn't much to NOT like about Elliot...the person.
One thing that most stands out in my mind. Before the races, if it is raining, there will be fans with passes that will go up to a driver and hold the umbrella over their heads. You see it all the time in Hollywood but not so much in the real world like NASCAR. Anyway...this girl walked up to Elliot, and she had a small arm...it was obviously deformed. She held onto that umbrella though for Elliot. Then Elliot turns, takes the umbrella from her and holds it in his right hand over the both of them while has his left arm around her waist. Just walking her like that, close, so she doesn't get wet either.
You can tell a lot about a person when they don't know they are really being watched at moments like that.

Now...I know Elliot is a good driver. It's frustrating when you know that he could be in Victory Lane and doesn't get even close most times. Still...there is hope and I will support him and cheer for him for as long as he is racing.
  • Whos is the best driver at Homestead?

    May be...

  • I'll go with the flow: Biffle!
  • greg biffle
  • Greg Biffle won 3 times in a row
  • Greg Biffle may have more wins but Carl Edwards is also very good at Homestead. I don't think he's ever finished out of the top 10 there and has one of the highest driver ratings at the track over the past few years. So it could be either. Depends on if you judge by consistency (qualifying well, leading laps, running at the front, etc.) or just wins. But I still go Biffle like everyone else.
  • Overall or in an individual year?

    Biff has 3 wins,

    Stewart has 2 wins,

But no-one that has won a championship has won in that year at homestead!!
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homestead-M...

Just trying to fill your minds with useless info once again.
  • well i guess we'll find out at the end of the year, wont we?
  • Biffle,by far!!!!!!
  • Whom ever wins the next race.
  • Biffle.
  • i'd have to say the best team has been roush there lately, and "da biff" did win three times in a row, but i'd put my money on kenseth to repeat this year...
  • Probably Greg Biffle. He won there in '04, 05', and 06'.
  • I just finished reading my RACER magazine article on Dale Jr. Is D.E.I. done once Martin Truex, Jr. leaves?

    May be...

  • Yeah, I read the same article, it will definitely be hard if Truex Jr jumps ship to another team, he is the top guy there but I think they are behind, thats another reason Dale Jr left, its all about technology and having the best engineers and "people" . I hate to see the team go down the drain after all Dale Sr wanted it to go to his kids someday.. Only time will tell, but if Truex Jr doesn't think he can win with DEI equipment, I would not be surprised at all to see him leave. Hopefully the team will be around by the time Jeffrey Earnhardt get to Cup..Yep only time will tell...Teresa its time to spend some $$$$$$$.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • it would be sad but i dont doubt it... dei lost a ton of money when they lost junior he may not have been winning races but he was the best... that would suck if dei shut down
  • YES!!!!!
  • DEI can't survive much longer. I don't see Teresa selling to investors and losing control.

The only way DEI can survive is with Menards billions. The team could be a good investment and I could see Teresa's good friend Menard taking over. He happens to be a good friend of Tony Stewarts too. Hmmmmmm.
  • Well.... they lost Jr. are losing Mark Martin, and IF Truex does leave then I'll say things don't look good for them. Even though they will have Almirola in the #8 full time next year, it still doesn't look very good when an organization loses their 2 best drivers in only 2 years. If Truex does leave their only hope in my opinion is to snag another full time cup driver such as Newman or Mears.
  • DEI will be good to go when Jesus Hernandez, Trevor Bayne, and Jeffrey Earnhardt get in cup. Those guys have crazy talent and are tearing up the Camping World East Series...I can't wait too see them in Cup, hopefully they can help get DEI turned around.
  • I would say so, they need to hire someone big over there. Paul Menard and Regan Smith have been busts but I think Aric Almirola will keep them afloat until someone big comes along.
  • It all depends on how Aric Armadillo (lol) does once he gets in the cup series. Also if sponsors start becoming uneasy with DEI's performance then yea I think it is pretty reasonable to say that DEI may become a museum (as Tony Stewart put it).

One thing that may have a positive effect on DEI is if Jeffrey Earnhardt steps up and performs well and "T" tries to rush him into a drivers seat. That may keep sponsors interested long enough for DEI to hang in there.

That is a lot to hope for. It would be like flipping a coin. Things might work out and things might not. It doesn't look promising from an outside perspective.
  • Yea i think DEI is a sinking ship if M.Truex leaves and with the talent they have the will be done unless they get someone to fill the seats of both of the jrs.
  • Pretty much, we'll see if Aric Almirola can keep the company alive.
  • 2.7.08

    Nascar Nation..? Pause?

    May be...

  • When shove comes to push... Hit a Busch.
  • Kyle who?

He looks nothing like the Kyle I'm thinking of..
  • not really. i like the song tho. its my ringback tone
  • you said "please take a long time to tell me" so what is a long time? Tomorrow OK? lol

Seriously sweetiepie, no. I can see maybe where you think he might look like Kyle...but it's such a minute resemblance that it's not worth mentioning.
  • no not at all
  • kind of..................
  • do you think this guy looks like Kyle
    Pause at 2:44 http://youtube.com/watch?v=EpU78IeTx_c&f...
  • YES
  • Maybe if you put a JIM wig over him oh wait a second he's already got a JIM wig on it's his hair!
  • Not really
  • Who will Tony Stewart race for next year?

    May be...

  • for gibbs of course he'll finish his contract
  • his ocntract runs through next season. So if he does buy into HAAS, that leave the options of staying with Gibbs through his contract or opting out and maybe driving one of his cars...don't know yet, he has not said.
  • haas- moneyed by hendricks
  • Finish out his contract with Gibbs and in 2010 drive for Haas CNC with part ownership.
  • He's under contract through 2009.
  • I'm going with Gibbs. I bet he'll stay there long enough to finish out his contract. Since Mears is out and the speculation is that Martin will be going to Hendrick for only one year. I think Stewart will take over Martin's ride with Hendrick in 2010.
  • Stewart doesn't leave Gibbs Racing until the END OF 2009. So next year he's racing in the 20 Toyota. The year AFTER that is yet to be decided. He will go to Haas CnC Racing, Hendrick Motorsports, or possibly RCR.
  • he will either drive the 66 and the 70 and be part owner
or he will drive the 5 and be jeff gordans team mate
  • Unfortunately, he's thinking about Hendrik
  • I think ether RCR or buy out Haas CNC and driver for them.
  • alright guys tony stewart is not going to hendrick the ride has been filled, he will most likely stay with Gibbs go to RCR of race with Haas
-he is struggling with gibbs and wants a change he most likely wont stay and my guess is logano will take his ride after 2010
-there are many drivers in the hunt for RCR but tony wont end up there
-He will probly end up at haas sooner or later no matter what they work out this year
  • I think ,Jeff Gordon's Gay, that he will go to Hass CNC just remember Jeff Gordon's Gay Tony Stewart could go anywhere he wants too
  • Doesn't he have another year with Joe Gibbs' contract?
  • the last i have heard he will drive for jgr thru 2009.............. but it could change i guess......... i really dont care anyway.........!
  • JGR
  • Bashing on JR Motorsports???

    May be...

  • I havent heard anything about fines but he said **** happens
  • Nope...missed that part.

    Must've been obscene.

NASCAR won't tolerate it and they deserve it.
  • Nascar is not being hard on JR motorsports. Anybody gets fined if they curse on live television, no matter who it is. I think that is the first time that I've heard JR and penalized in the same sentence though.
  • Does it seem NASCAR is being so hard on JR Motorsports, BUT that is not my question!!!

Apparently JR Motorsports Crew Cheif on the #5 car was fined for "improper language" at the Nationwide race on Saturday. I missed that race, does anyone know what he said to get punished???
  • Why fine drivers or crew members for saying stuff like that?
It isn't really the drivers fault. It is the televisions for listening in to the radio. The driver doesn't know if TV is listening that moment. At the beginning of a race, maybe put Parental discretion advised (Strong language)!!

    Penalize the television crew!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last year at Sanoma Kyle Petty said What the "F" was that??
  • He said sh#t happens on live TV. If he was fined it isn't bashing.
  • the quote that they aired was sh*t happens, ergo a fine for foul language
  • Nascar.com hasn't reported anyone getting fines for improper behaviour/conduct last weekend....for any of the 3 top series.

It must of been freebie week with Nascar. lol.
  • Jr was fined for the same $hit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $hit happens!!!!!!lol
  • Annnnnnd So what???????????

They have been fining drivers for that for years.

Remember Tony Stewart's "BS" comment last year!

He got fined, I think, $10,000.00 for that.

They know the rules, and the penalties if they break the rules.
  • What? Improper huh? what was improper i dont understand
  • Has any one noticed?

    May be...

  • Would you be using the same engine package this year as they did last year?
  • that DEI's engines ket blowing up last year but there have been no DEI engine problems this year
  • Yep, I've noticed it, but then I think they were using #8 last yr as a test car when he announced he was leaving... Yep no blown motors this year...yeah!!

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • I didn't notice. I haven't noticed much about DEI period this year. None of their drivers are running up front.
  • yea i just think it was another way for her to screw jr.
  • The 15 has had a few engine and mechanical issues. Other than that, they have improved. Strange...
  • DEI....the end is near.

    http://racingwithrich.com/?p=238

"DEI has struck its own iceberg of sorts.

Make no mistake about it, when racing enthusiasts look back a few years from now and wonder, “What happened to DEI?” the answer will be a simple one. The demise of the company began just over a year ago when Dale Earnhardt, Jr. left, or was allowed to leave or was forced to leave, whichever view best fits the truth.

Just one year later the company started by seven time NASCAR champion Dale Earnhardt, Sr. appears to be falling apart."
  • Yes. I thought Teresa sabotaged them. Where did DEI get them from last year? Can’t remember. I think he lost 7 engines. Funny I was just thinking abut that the other day and noting that he had not lost an engine while at Hendrick.
  • Interesting isn't it, everyone said that Jr ran the car too hard and thats why he kept having his engines blown up. I see this year at Henderick there has been no blown engines. What a surprise. May be DEI has finally gotten their head out of the sand and wants to be competitive again. Too bad it is was too late for Jr. It would have been nice to have him race well his last year at his father's company.
  • they are running different engines this year
  • nope.
  • Is DEI still running Cup?
  • Maybe they improved their enginge performance.

Now they need to get their finishes higher.

Seems like Mark Martin is the class of the field (if he done full time this year, he would be contending for the chase again.)
  • Yeah well I could go on forever on this one but I'll spare ya and all I'll say is that DEI doesn't have Jr anymore to give to crappy stuff to so now they just have to bring it and not use him as a ginny pig!
  • It is a different engine and when you make a mistake, don't do it again when you get another chance.
  • Teresa is a retard but she's not enough of a retard to use the same engines every year after they blow up like that.
  • does this surprise you
  • They were trying different engine packages last year. If you also noticed nobody demanded so much from a car at DEI than Dale Jr. and that shows by who always ran up front when Jr was there (Dale Jr).

If you also remember when RCR and DEI joined forces in the engine department that also RCR started having engine woes too. Remember Jeff Burton last year? Dale Jr wasn't the only one at DEI that had engine problems.

DEI managed to put out some powerful engines last year but they just didn't hold up. I think they have found a balance to some extent. RCR is running good and at a few times so has DEI.

If you notice Dale Jr hasn't had any engine woes at HMS. Also if not for a few wrecks not his fault he might be leading the points this year. He is still in 3rd.
  • I would hope not! While it was an apparent problem last year, they would have been pretty stupid to run the same ones this year! Give them credit for SOME smarts!
  • they arent running the same engines as last year what a suprise!!!!!!!!
  • Strange, but true....
  • What do you think of Jr.s plans to race in the Australian V8 Super-car Series this December?

    May be...

  • I read somewhere that the story was a hoax. There is no way that Jr is gonna be racing while the banquet is going on. The only was would be if he fell out of the chase. I dont see that happening so, I also dont see Nascar officials letting him out of the banquet either.

Either way, I am kind of believing the hoax story.
  • He can barely drive a cup car, why would he have any business in another type of car
  • he may stand a chance at winning if he isn't racing cup drivers.
  • If he wants to do it, awesome. I won't follow it.

    1) I wish IROC was still around.
    2) Aren't Holdens more akin to Pontiacs? I know, it's nit-picking, but still... Pontiacs are Holdens and Chevys are Daewoos.
  • Not really all that suprised considering his last visit there with Ambross. TV coverage pending, it'll be something to watch on the off season at least.
  • I think it 's always a good way to pick up experience and education in a different kind of motorsport. It's like if you ride mountain bike and dirt bikes (it sharpens acuity), it makes you a better motorcycle drag racer. Maybe driving in the Super-car series will teach him a few tricks he can apply in NASCAR. It's a good thing.
  • It will be cool. Hopefully it will work out better then that 'Vette did at Sanoma in '04
  • Here's a link: http://jayski.com/cupnews.htm#news88a

Here's another link on the same story: http://www.wheelsmag.com.au/wheels/site/...

For those unaware of what kind of car a 'Holden' is, it's GM's australian division. So it's a Chevy V8.
  • I think it will be kool! Yes, #18, they do go clockwise in Australia. He will have to learn how to make a LOT of right hand turns....LOL.

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • Jr. doesn't impress me too often. Sorry, this isn't the exception. But if you're happy, I'll be happy for you.
  • It will give me an incentive to check it out but I won't be canceling any plans. It's cool. Thanks for the info.
  • I remember the last time Dale Jr. tried racing in a series not NASCAR.

    Th<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FGR0KWLs... name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FGR0KWLs51... type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>e result? Well, it wasn't pretty.
  • i'm curious - in the northern hemisphere hurricanes turn counter-clockwise and in the southern hemisphere they turn clockwise. so, do oval racers there race go clockwise as well? will junior be able to adapt?

    ;-)
  • He had a blast down there with his buddies last yr. My cousin lives down there, and covers sports and auto racing down there, he met Dale Jr. The Aussies love him down there they are glad he is coming back, and will race this time. Yes its counter clockwise down there, so yep some righthand turns, he can handle it.. I'm gonna have my cousin email me some photos this time..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • 1.7.08

What do people think about Chip letting Dario and the 40 team go because of sponsorship.?

    May be...

  • I think Mr.Chips should lesve too....
  • i that dario sucked and he should go back to IRL since he is the defending chap and same with hornish jr
  • Unfortunatly this is the tip of the iceberg, look for it to happen again this year.
  • With the economy, look for more between the haves and have nots... many companies will no longer be willing to shell out the millions of dollars each year for sponsorship..
There will be many teams un-funded or under-funded..
Unfortunately this is going to set up NASCAR with only a few elite teams that have the resources to compete and win every week.
  • where the hell have i been.............. this is news to me.... stupid work no time for my nascar........ going to the internet too look this up........ brb...... and thank you for this question......
  • It Sucks
  • Its what happens when you put a driver in a stock car for the first time
Dario, Stick to Open Wheel Racing
  • The truth is, it was not a good decision to let a guy fresh out of IRL run a few Busch races last year, then throw him in a Cup car. It was doomed for failure. It didn't matter how much testing he got, he needed more development in Busch.
  • they just had a couple of shows on espn about sponsorship woes in nascar, one of them being about yates racing and the other being a segment on "nascar now" about chip and dario. the big question being asked is "with reed sorenson's woes and the rumors about him not being re-signed, would dario take that seat after this year?"

the biggest thing about this, as they brought up on espn, is that he'll continue to race in the nationwide series. but, the longer he is not in the cup car, the harder it will be to get back in, as development and learning in that car happens at such a rapid pace.
  • There will be a few casualties. I predicted a few weeks ago (and got thumbs down as well as being slammed) that NASCAR was going to have to pay a couple Nationwide teams to make sure NASCAR has 43 cars to race each week.
  • If Dario could have got the car into the top 35 they would be sponsored.

No one wants to sponsor a car that only runs half the races.
  • Just plain somple economics at work, and the same system that resulted in him losing this ride will provide him with another one. Indy 500 winners don't stay unemployed for long.
  • I think Dario is a talented driver but chip did not have the recourse's and the money because of no sponser
  • What do you think of this website?

    May be...

  • that is sad... people need to get a life and quit hating on drivers because they are more popular. Hate on them because of their experience because that is something they can control they can't control how popular they are no matter what people think. Junior can't change who his father was, jeff gordon can't change the fact that he won so many races, tony stewart can't change the fact that he has a horrible temper (he tried in 2000 when he went to anger management), and jimmie can't change the fact that he won back to back championships... quit being haters and show some love for the guys that are keeping this sport alive because if you took away junior jimmie jeff and tony... nascar wouldnt be as popular as they are ask almost anyone and they will tell you the same thing
  • I saw this on Yahoo Marbles blog.

I think the webmaster of that site has way to much time on his hands.

But if you search hard enough, you can find hater sites for probably almost every competitive cup driver.
  • Sad, but I guess the Jr. haters need to read something in print to make them feel better, so there it is.

    Go Jr.>>>>
  • Somebody needs a life and quick. If ya don't like Jr, leave it at that. Jr ain't gunna win every race. No one will. The competition is good this year. You Kyle Busch fans have gotten so darn arrogant this year but why should we bust on him because of his fans? Although I will say he is surely a sore sport.
  • hehehe thats pretty funny. And bestanswer is right, most drivers do have "hater" sites. I personally don't mind, it's just someones opinion. It's a free country and some Jr fans need to realize that not everyone is in love with their driver. Heck, Harvick has quite a few haters himself. Does this change my opinion on him or that he's my favorite driver? No. Just let it go, it really doesn't matter. I'm not going around trying to convert everyone into Harvick fans. It's their opinion and if they want to waste their time focusing on hating my guy then thats their choice.
  • So you dont Jr well you can just go screw your self.
  • thats FUC.KED up ok so i am a fan of jr but who the hell does that guy like ya know what we dont make fun of ur guys fave drivers well i dont and thats a fuc.ked up sight and ii hope that guy shoots himself and everyone who enjoys cuz its stupid as$ retarded sh!t
  • www.over88ted.com I like it, its interesting to read the "choke report".
  • I love it! It is absolutely 100% true!
  • Yes I have it in my favorites now. Thanks. It presents total facts that can not be denied, and it gives it to you like it is, with humor.
  • I swear Jr. goes winless ONE year and Kyle SURGES for ONE year the next and it's like Kyle is the Next big thing and Jr. is crap.
  • All you losers that can't accept Jr. is good is sad, same to Kyle, come on guys, we don't need to make hate sites just cause the way they are. How you you feel if they made a hate site about you?
  • well i have never seen nascar "ratings" like in tennis i just see standings and he isnt doing so bad in those. buts i will tell you why he has more fans then anyone else and its because of his personality, he was the first person i liked in nascar cuz of the way he acts and how he is extreamly down to earth and a very likable guy, even if he didnt drive cars i would like him cuz of his personality, like the reason i like Joe Gibbs, he is just a good guy.
  • Wow. So much time and energy dedicated to hatred. That's too bad.
  • There are sites like that about every driver, but Jr. fans get mad if there is one about him...who cares, it's just something entertaining to check out, and I think it is kinda cool.

    From the site it says...
    Here are some facts:

Junior has been in Sprint Cup for 10 seasons

Junior has won 17 races. That averages to roughly 1.7 wins per year

Junior has won 0 Sprint Cup championships

Junior has had the advantage of being in the most well-financed race car since he started racing

Since Junior entered Sprint Cup many drivers have won more races then him
  • thats mean i cant believe youd do that whats he ever done to you

    I agree with lynnn

and just for the record what dose kyle busch vs Junior have to do with anything

there friends havent you seen it there always talking in the garage
  • Just goes to show that the kids are out of school and have waaaaayyyyy to much time on theor hands.
  • Jealousy of this magnitude must be difficult to live with.
  • Kasey Kahne Commericals?

    May be...

  • They did an interview with him one time after the pink pajama commercial he was in and the girls are hired by Allstate to do the advertisements.

Funny because the girls got a free ticket to one of his races and actually came.
  • yeah, what winter glory said. the commercials wouldn't be so "memorable" if they chose different actresses for each commercial; they wouldn't have the continuity, or the "story-line" they follow any other way.
  • Three actresses...doubtful he knew them before. They appear to be stalking him...that's why they are in most of his commercials..But don't you really hate the commercial where he's dressed in the pink jumpsuit and dances??? What was he thinking???
  • The redhead who is always driving is Judy Fleming and the other two are Dana Gilhooley and the blonde is Jen Biederman. commercial actresses.

The are all actresses. He probably didn't know them before. Allstate hired them and seems it worked out so well that they kept them on.
  • He knows them because they were hired by allstate to be in his commercials, they're actresses. I seriously doubt he knew them before the filming.
  • who are the 3 girls in all of kasey kahne's all state commericals and how does he know them? you would think he knows them somehow because they are in ALL of the commericals.

  • How many of u are impressed?

    May be...

  • with dale jr this year hes wrecked at

    california
    richmond
    charlotte
    Talladega
    Dover
if im missing any track let me know
    and not one DNF
  • I'm impressed considering that hes driving great and not causing his own problems.

California: wet track and he got clipped by Mears.
    Richmond: Everyone knows...
Charlotte: Flat right rear tire while killing everyone.
Talladega: Big one. Not much anyone could do.
Dover: Big one because Elliott Sadler and David Gilliland suck.
New Hampshire: McMurray showing why he is getting the boot from Roush at the end of the year.

So far, Jr is running very well. The only guy driving better than him is Kyle Busch because he is really driving great this year.
  • I'm not really impressed.
Dale Jr. is a great racer and I expect this out of him. Give him a car that doesn't blow engines consistenly and he does pretty good. Some say everyone drives good for Hendricks but if thats the case then what is Casey Mears excuse?
  • New Hampshire! The one where they think that Jamie purposely hit him basically. But yea. I love the excuses. I almost feel like quitting watching the sport because its only "Junior" on the track and he can do no wrong! Its never his fault.
  • Ya its pretty funny that a guy can wreck so many times and still only have one DNF. And he also only has like 2 or 3 finishes of 34th or worse. So ya it is pretty funny that a guy can wreck so many times and still be better than your driver HUH *****.
  • who is dale jr?
  • Who cannot be impressed going from a year like he had last year to this big of turn around. Not to mention that fact that not one of those wrecks were his fault. Dale Jr is coming and people better watch out!
  • only 144 outr of the lead
but he needs some more bonus points for the chase
right now he would be 6th in points if the chase started now
  • cant say much about crashes, Kenseth has had more tha a few this season
  • Just supports my theory that the driver is only about 20% of the success equation. Its hard to lose when you're driving for a class organization like Rick Hendrick.

    j
  • Statistics speak for themselves. Amazing how much better a driver can do with great equipment n cars. People can say Junior fans make excuses all they want....they need to look at the statistics first which won't make any difference, they'll still bash him. Am I impressed...you bet! =o`)

Addition: Gee, that brought out the Junior haters! Lol
  • I think I'm in love with Bella. You rock.
  • And the funny part is at Talladega he went from 29th to 10th in the course of a couple of laps, and Charlotte he managed a top-5 with a wrecked car(again, he did this at Martinsville a few years ago as well). Look how much he ran up front last year with DEI's crappy cars.
  • Jamie Mac's getting lynched on that accident.

Jr's done spectacular this season, and he could have been the points leader right now if you take out some of those bad finishes.

He's gotten a whole bunch of good luck, like finishing 10th at Talladega in a wrecked car, and a lot of bad luck like NASCAR acting like a cracked out retard on acid at California.
  • Anyone else happy JPM dumped Kyle?

    May be...

  • Yes I do agree that Kyle is full of himself and he does need a reality check every now and then but to just go out and dump someone is wrong no matter how you feel about the guy. If it is just hard racing and things happen and we move on. I don't like the shrub but every one deserves a fair finish.
  • Kyle is still first, and JPM still won't make the Chase.
  • You only think that because it's the only way he won't finish up top. Too bad you're such a sorry sport.
  • I think this should happen to him every race.
  • Ecstatic.
  • I loved it..................Kyle needs to figure out that he is not the only guy on the track. It was done at caution speed so there was no real danger.............Good for you JPM!!

For all you Kyle (Gomer Pyle) fans that gave me a thumbs down....................Kiss my butt!!!!! It's ok when Goober does somebody but when he gets done back you all cry like little babies..............But yet again that probably explains why you are a "Cry-ll" Busch fan........................
  • i thought it was pretty funny and i love that in the post race interview he admitted that he did it on purpose.
  • That was amazing! Busch got a taste of his own medicine. I don't really like JPM anyway so I don't care he got penalized but Busch's car was horrible!! HAHAHA!!
  • I think that both got what they deserved.
  • OK, I have to admit, last year I was VERY unkind in my postings about JPM. I thought he was arrogant and wrecked everything in sight just because he was too aggressive and didn't care. He had sort of turned a better corner for me this year and I was beginning to come around to being tolerant of him.
Then there's Kyle Busch who popped up on everyone's radar this year just cleaning up the race track week after week and series after series. While I'm not a big fan, he was VERY entertaining to watch.
So now we are at yesterday's race which I admit to being a bit sleepy through about 3/4 of the race. But when McMurray hit Junior it sort of was like a big alarm clock so I was VERY awake for the JPM/Kyle Busch "thing".
After watching all the re-runs and the events leading up to it and listening to the post-race interviews, I have to admit to giving JPM a big thumbs up! Way to go dude! But don't do it every race.....
  • I hope they both wreck with Dale Jr every race.
  • I just look at it as a points saver, Dale Jr is still in third place, and Jeff Burton is closer to Kyle Busch now.. Thats all, I 'm surprised this did not happen sooner in the race, that wasn't the first time these two rubbed each other in the race.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
    Congrats Kurt B#2 (I lost a bet)
  • I don't see why it was a good thing. Juan was an idiot and could have caused more innocent victims to get involved. If Jr would have been caught up in that wreck, then everyone would be mad at Juan. You should never wreck somebody on purpose like that. I am not a fan of kyle, but i know all jr fans are mad because kyle is better than him, and kyle spun out jr. That was just a racing deal. Juan is an idiot and should be set down for the rest of the season. I would be upset too if someone wrecked my driver, but i move on. It is just a part of racing.
  • I am not a fan of either driver, but no, I am not happy about this.. Besides it being a really stupid move, there was a risk of taking out an innocent driver with those antics. Settle it off the racetrack, dont purposely spin out a car during a caution, especially when other cars are very close by.
  • Heck no, people talk about Kyle crashing everyone, that maybe true but being an aggressive driver comes with that. JPM wrecks EVERYONE!! Look, he crashed Kyle but Kyle hit right into him,. Good for him, he gets what he deserves!!
  • He did the dirty work that many people have THOUGHT about doing, then he came right out and saith it! You have to admire the way he stuck to his principles and did not beat around the busch. I don't think that is the last time we will see an incident between the 18 and 42 cars.
    3 STR8 N 08!!!
  • I'd be lying if I said I didn't pump my fist when it happened...but really only because Jr had already been flat out run over, so it was more a points saver than it was a Shurb getting wrecked thing.
  • IRL Fans are we ready for some road course racing??

    May be...

  • im looking for TK to take two in a row! GO TK!!!
  • YES!!!

    **Go Marco**
  • I don't think the CART guys will win within the next two years. I say it will be Dan Wheldon taking the checkered flag.
  • Im going with my favorite Marco Andretti.

    BTW- Super cool looking Avatar!
  • I'm WAY ready for some right hand turns!!
Dixon is going for 4 in a row at the Glen and he'll be tough to beat.
I'd like to see someone else in the top 10 points get the win, just to tighten up the championship points race.
I'd like the final race at Chicagoland offer serveral drivers an opportunity at the title..
Watch out for Will Power, Servia, Rahal, those guys have had half a season to work with the Dallara and they have the road racing experience....It's anybody's guess...I can't wait.
  • I know I am, Will it be a IRL regular or one of the former CART Guys who will win.. You know me I always go with Helio... But Rahal. Maybe??
  • Is NASCAR still cheating for Jr, or what?

    May be...

  • I don't think they are blatantly cheating for him but there are some strange things going on.

The cone today was not really an offense because of being wrecked. The Kyle Busch air hose and air hose penalty itself is a discretionary penalty anyway and a will call by NASCAR.

The two races that I question are the Michigan race and the Coca Cola 600. Michigan of course he passed the pace car which is a big no no and in the 600 he went down pit road by safety equipment 3 times at 100mph plus.

Those last two were definitely offenses but NASCAR seemed to turn a blind eye to it.

If the 18 passes the pace car, or anyone passes the pace car with JR in 2nd at Michigan, the entire world would erupt through the roof and cry penalty!
  • tom cruise is my friend has a good point.
  • you are just digging for dirt on Jr..this is really an unhealthy obsession you have with Jr, you really should get over it.
  • No. Jeff Gordon is the cheater!!!
  • Ha! Tom Cruise Is My Friend ! I saw that, was amazed after umpteen commercials, nary a word was said by the expert commentators ! Duh.
  • He wouldn't have hit the cone if Jamie McMurrays spotter was paying attention and told him that Jr was pitting. So no NASCAR didn't "cheat for Jr".
  • Kyle ran over an air hose on national TV one of NASCARS biggest pit cardinal sins but since he "rolled over it" they let it pass. who is the favorite. I don't have a horse in this race but any driver out there gets some call or another that helps or hurts and it's always a CONSPIRACY.
  • i wanna see 'em cheat for montoya
  • i think mcmurray should have had to take at least half that penalty - he took half of junior's car. that seems only fair...
    ;-)
  • Well, If you got smacked from behind at 100 mph would you be all so worried about the cone that you run over BACKWARDS??????

NASCAR did not give him a penalty because it was not his fault. Plain and simple.

Busch did back over his air hose, but no penalty there. So you are saying that they should have parked Kyle???

Let us know who your favorite driver is so we can have NASCAR park everyone but him next week.

    They should have parked Montoya......

I guess he is the next golden child.
  • During Jr.'s last attempt to pit, he ran over the cone that marks the start of the speed limit on pit road. This is against the rules, and OH...guess what...no penality!!

You know if Kyle Busch ran over that cone, NASCAR would have parked him for the day, and docked him 100 points.Goes to show they still play favorates.
  • I did not notice. I doubt they would have been that severe with the 5 car. I must admit there have been a few instances when it appeared JR might have gotten a break or two.
Don`t be to hard on NASCAR though. He is their top draw. Butts in the seats and merchandise.Ever notice how he wins ever poll when those who vote for him know good and well he just an average driver.
  • sort of like how kyle busch got penalized for running over an air hose oh wait? you're an idiot.
  • Wut are you talking about, Kyle would have gotten the same treatment. Nascar is doing everything and anything for kyle to win to keep toyota happy.
  • You must be huffin glue again.
  • obviously ya don't care for jr. I think it's kinda weird how things happen to Kyle Busch's qualifying lap and nascar finds something wrong with the track and he's allowed to re do his lap. WHAT?? He's the only one in the last two weeks that has been allowed to that. And he runs over his air hose and Nascar says no penalty. HUH??? Also, if nascar was playing favorites with Jr, wouldn't he be leading the points and have more than 1 win this year. Just stop complaining. That's all ya ever hear is nascar plays favorites with Jr. Give me a break.
  • What they said ^^^^^
  • your a dumb azz he got wrecked its not like he can pause the wreck climb out the car and move the cone and got back in an un paused an wrecked get over it man at MIS when #55 ran over the exit cone on pit road they didnt stop him or anything
  • Give the guy a break...He,s only got one win out of 75 or76...Maybe they didn,t want to see it!!!!Nascar never cheats!!!!!HA>>>HA>>>HA>>>
  • Oh my gosh. This one takes the cake.....You are right. They should have parked him. Damn him, he should have had better control of his car when he was smashed in the rear by another driver doing 120. While they are at it, maybe they should fine Tony Eury Jr. since he didn't run out and put the cone upright again but made a NASCAR official do it.
  • You know we could take your question seriously if it wasn't for the fact that in the same race shrubby ran over his air hose and didn't get penalized maybe you should try actually watching the whole race from now on instead of just trying to highlight the things you think Jr did wrong... And oh by the way hitting the cone doesn't actually bring a penalty if you are basically forced into it which wouldn't have happened if Mcmurray haad been paying attention and saw Jr going to the pits. Moron
  • jr ran over the cone after he was rearended and out of control and it was the commitment cone not the time lime
  • Tom cruse is my friend (but not mine) is right
  • Well, I guess if you got rear ended by another driver and out of control, you may just run over one also.....

it was not his fault, so let it go.

and, if Nascar was just for JR, he would be point leader, and he would never even have to finish the race, ha ha

next time, watch the entire race before beating a dead horse some more.......its over...move on.......

smoke, kyle, Gordon, and lots of other drivers do things and get passes on them, don't pick on JR......guess you must not like him.......so sad, too bad..
  • 29.6.08

Should Juan Pablo Montoya be suspended for wrecking Kyle Busch under Caution???

    May be...

  • Oh relax......thats what nascar is all about, or at least thats what it use to be about. Let the boys sort it out themselves. It's entertainment.
  • Not suspended, but penalized points and money.

I missed his post race interview he admitted to wrecking Kyle on national tv thats hilarious.

I wonder if when Kyle spun if he hit Juan on purpose???
  • penalty my friend penalty
  • No way! This is how racing should be settled. If it was not for all the cameras it would probably had be ruled an accident. S**t happens. All sports officials need to calm down just because we got cameras to see it all, dose not mean we need to look at it so closely.
  • If you live by the sword, you die by the sword.
Juan Pablo Montoya is excused for his honesty, besides it was the most exciting part of the race. Just tell all the paranoids that NASCAR staged it that way.
  • I think he will be penalized, but it's Juan Pablo, what do you expect from him? If he ain't wreckin', he ain't racin'

It did add a little excitement to a boring race, though.
  • Fined, penalized, and parked for a few races.

Heck, they did it to Waltrip at the beginning of the season when he got wrecked.

Snot nosed punk took himself out.

If I were his sponsor, he'd be out of a job.
  • Yes hes a punk
  • Well fine them both or whatever. The thing is...you DON'T take it out on the race track. That goes for anyone not just Yawn Pablo and Kyle. It's anyone. How many times did someone not even in the battle get wiped out because two guys got to fight with their cars. I say they should have taken it out OFF the track, with no helmets on, man to man, hand to hand. And televise it for our enjoyment.
  • No, because it's happened numerous times in the past and it just racing!
  • Fine yes maybe. I think so. Suspension no way. Put on NASCAR famous phanthom probation. Sure why not. It does not mean anything. Stewart has been on it numerous times.
  • Maybe not suspended but he should get a fine with the crew chief being suspended.
  • we all dont know what happen what caused it i dont think montoya wrecked him for no reason maybe kyles ears were in the way
  • i guess it was montoya he got penalized 2 laps for it
  • Suspended no, fined or docked points yes. Same with Kyle. Both of their actions were on purpose although JP was the only one stupid enough to admit it.
  • Heck no! Kyle Busch deserved it! Maybe not for anything done today, but for stupid things hes done in the past.
  • no. he should be fined some $$$ and some points and put on probation (the new "serious" probation, that is), but i doubt he'll be suspended.
  • Yeah, he should and more than likely will. Not a fan of the Shrub, but Juan could have damaged a lot of innocent drivers' cars in the process.
  • Yes, he should go back to F1 or whatever it was he came from. He will wreck anyone with no remorse
  • 88 car Vs 26 car?

    May be...

  • Jamie did not mean to hit JR, I think he knew he was gonna pit, and thought JR would be moved out of the way...and he was not, I think Jamie should have backed off, but he kept coming...

No, ones fault, Just racing...and racing is accidents, I really don't believe Jamie would have done it on purpose,.

and by no means was its Jr fault.........he was not the one that caused it right.

but I clearly saw accident written all over it.
  • i really thank that Jamie didn't see besides it wasn't his fault it was Regan fault he hit into Jamie and cause Jamie hi into Jr
  • Oh yeah, Jamie just completely tore up his car on purpose just so he could say he took out Dale Jr. Open your eyes man...it was an accident.
  • I think Jamie should of been paying more attention and what the he** was his spotters doing? I like Jamie but that was a weird way to take himself out and to mess Jr up more! anyways congrats to Kurt Busch and all his fans!!(superdave I see you've got Tom in a lovely #2 for the week! way to go!!)
  • Accidents happen and I don't think he would have messed himself up just to hit my favorite driver Dale JR.
  • It will be the Jr./Jamie show this week I guess.
  • do you really think #26 Jamie didn't see Dale Jr down here or was he trying to pass to low an ran into jr and then got on tv an tryed to say it was Jr fault for me its i dont have a problem with Jamie but open your eyes man
  • Blame the spotters for not alerting him to that. He had been running on the apron for traction all day and hadn't had a problem until then. He was focused on what the 10 car(? Might have that car number wrong) was going to do.

Those spotters didn't do a good job. McMurray's spotter didn't notice that Jr. was going to pit, but most of the blame should be on Jr's spotter. He should have told the others that he was pitting so the other drivers could be told.
  • It may have been an accident but when your running below the line you should be more attentive. Especially at the entrance to pit road!
  • Woody101 ~ Who are you calling a moron? Expecially since you, evidently, weren't even watching the race. Jamie was on the lead lap in 13th place. He had been on the lead lap ALL DAY!!!! You idot. Take off your "Jr does no wrong" glasses & you may actually see whats truly happening next time before you open your mouth & insert your foot.

It wasn't Jamies fault. Jr waited too late to pull down to the apron to pit. Most drivers are already there coming out of the turn. Jr waited until the last second & Jamie was already there & had no time to stop.

You want to blame someone blame the spotters. Jr's spotter should have had him over to the apron way before he did.
  • i did not got that part
  • Do you think he would have hit Jr if he would have seen him? I don't.
  • jamie is a moron. 3 laps down and you run full speed into a car pulling onto pit road. get some glasses if you can't see a big white car in front of you
  • it was definitely jamie's fault i think he saw junior thought by the time he would be at the exit of the corner junior would have been out of the way, so yeah he saw him but then again didn't see him... jamie needs to open his eyes a little more and realize where pit road is and realize that he can run the apron there or else he will wreck others
  • To tell you the truth. I believe what Jamie said. Jr had pulled down but Jamie was coming and didn't know Jr was pitting.
  • Jamie wasnt aware of Jr. pitting. Its Jr's spotters job to tell people that he is pitting an obviously he didnt do his job. So you cant blame Jamie for it. It was racing and Jamie wouldnt hit him on purpose.
  • i blame the spotters.
  • We all know who ever gets in God is wrong. Jr is never wrong and is the best driver in the world. I think Jr and Jmac are tied for points wins in the past two years so technically Jmac and Jr are equal in skill.
  • It was Jamie's fault for several reasons:
    1. He was rim riding during "Pit Time"
    2. He could've reacted faster when Jr. turned down.
    3. He collected the innocent David Ragan and prevented a good finish from him. Jr. did the right thing getting the 88 off the racing surface.
  • I don't have a problem with Junoir, but open YOUR eyes, dude! Nobody could have guessed in a million years that he was coming to pit lane. Spotter was obviously asleep on the job and Earnhardt showed no hand signal.

So, Junior fans, we are still awaiting for you to blame your own driver for the first time.
  • It was spotter error. Nobody was at fault. Do you SERIOUSLY think McMurray nailed Jr. on purpose? What, did Kyle Busch pay Jamie off after the race for doing it?

McMurray's spotter could of told McMurray that Jr. was pitting, Jr.'s spotter could of told Jr. that McMurray was down there. It's not like it's illegal to race down there either, the TNT reporters even said they do it all the time. It was a freak racing accident.
  • thats alright june bug still 3rd in the points

  • hoping for JR and the #88 , but it will be a dodge, they were really strong in the practices.
  • Anyone who the broadcasters and fans don't talk about will have a 99% chance of winning the race. The other 1% is split up into itty bitty pieces for the 42 other drivers.
  • I am going with Harvick, and hoping for Jr, of course...

  • Kurt Busch in the #2 Millerlite Dodge Charger.
  • That is like asking "Favorite Mom?"

Everyone is going to answer, "Mine."

  • Dale Jr. among others. By the way. I agree with you. Jeff shows all the usual signs of being gay. Married to 2 beautiful women, has a child. That cinches it for me. Next thing you know, we'll find out he has a male friend that he loves.
  • My favorite NASCAR driver is Carl Edwards! But I like all the Roush Fenway Drivers and every other FORD too but Carl is my favorite!!
  • Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson and Joey Logano
  • Currently it is Dale Jr.
But the one who had the worst name in all of sports has to be Dick Trickle.
Anyone with a name like that HAS to deserve some credit.
  • original question from an original guy, mr. gay.

    ROW-DEEEEE!!!!!
  • My 3 favorit driver, Denny, Kyle, and Tony

I agree with WILD BILL SD. Later this week, a major story will break, Jeff G and Jimmy J, wed in California. With Dale Jr giving the bride away at the wedding. HMS should stand for Homo Motor Sports....
  • Rowdy!!!!!
  • Jimmie Johnson
  • Dale Earnhardt Jr
    Tony Stewart
    Martin Truex Jr
    Brad Keselowski
    Ron Hornaday Jr

    ( lol lotta jrs)
  • Ward Burton. If only a decent team would give him a shot......
  • Dale Earnhardt Jr for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    88 in '08 go Jr!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Danny D - you say you like Tony Stewart. How much will you like him next year after he becomes one of the so called "homos"?!!! HMS rocks and Tony needs to get back into a Chevy so his butt can get be back in victory lane after a cup race. I love Tony and you are definately wrong about HMS.
  • Matt Kenseth
  • Robby Gordon and Tony Stewart
  • I feel like a dork, because lots of people will say this, but #88 all the way, baby!! Go Little E!!!
  • Carl Edwards and Kasey Kahne!
  • Why was Dale Sr most ppular driver in 2001 but dale jr has been most popular from like 03 to today??

    May be...

  • It's actually because "Dale Earnhardt" is a Southern phrase that means "God". Whenever Southern NASCAR fans hear it, it makes them experience something similar to an LSD high, and it gives them the desire to start offering sacrifices (aka AMP drinks thrown at the race winner) and buy green clothing with the number 88 on it, without having any idea why they are doing it...but seriously:

It's sad to say that most NASCAR fans are fans of Dale JR because they are oblivous that this "hero" makes any mistakes, causes any wrecks, or anything else that contradicts their god-like image of him, yet they are the first to blame other drivers for nudging JR. The media continues to give fuel to his ego, and this gives him more fans. When they watch NASCAR on television Dale JR is talked about whether he's 3rd or 43rd, and if someone is new to the sport they must think that he is the best thing ever to climb into a race car simply because of all the undeserving media attention he gets. 80% of his fans were acquired with the death of his father at Daytona, and they were quick to jump on the Dale JR bandwagon since he was the only one left to carry the "Earnhardt" tradition. If JR fans say "he's the best" enough times, maybe eventually they will convince themselves that it is true, even though any outsider of JR nation can see that's not true at all.

he Most Popular Driver award is often given to the person who everyone loves, but doesn't get in victory lane much. Which is evident when looking at JR's stat sheet...3 wins since the beginning of 2005, not exactly "the best driver in NASCAR" type stats. So with a record like that, there has to be an outside explanation for the millions of fans that blindly cheer him, and that is Dale Earnhardt SR. JR fans would like him to be the second coming of his dad whether they admit it or not.
  • probably because of the way dale sr. died. i think people like jr. to pay respect to sr. i don't understand why people like jr. he whines and complains all the time. even when he wins a race!
  • It's just obvious proof that most of Jr's fans came from Sr...they did it out of pity for Sr's death and Jr. was the closest thing his fans had left of him...so now Jr. will be popular driver for years and years, even though that means nothing as far as championship material.
  • Dale Sr was voted most popular in 2001 because he died & the majority of people who voted for him are hyprocrits. If he really was the most popular driver then why did they wait until he was dead to vote for him?

And Dale Jr is voted most popular because most of his daddy's fans became Jr fans after Sr died & he is the sentimental favorite. And his last name is Earnhardt.

Oh plus Bill Elliott withdrew his name from the vote. So that help them alot.
  • Because of his name and he is a okay driver
  • Have you ever heard of "the balance of nature"?
Well... that's just "what it is"
    Everything is fine in "Whoville"
  • The only reason Dale Sr got most popular driver in 01
is because every one loved him and missed him and they still do
    who was in 02?
  • Dale Sr was only most popular driver the year he died
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dale_Sr
    and

dale jr was most important every other year but 2002
