You need talent. But, like anything else, you have to put the time in to learn the craft.

Talent or skill is definitely a factor. How else to explain how a driver can maneuver his way through a big pile-up? Because you can't practice avoiding crashes. A lot of their ability is because of simply working hard and practicing. However, if you have no natural talent for it, you will never be one of the top guys.
