Formula one races 2008 in the USA???

May be...

  • There used to be a USGP and Indy, but not this year. Im going to Montreal for the Canadien GP now. FYI - June 8

I believe it had to do with Americans protesting F1/Bridgestone/INDY. Resulting only in 6 cars competing.
  • some one told me that they would be here in the usa! shocking i thought but now i hear that there not!! anyone know whats going on?

    where there going to be?
why they might not be in the us?
  • Yes, they'll be here . . . but only on television!

The reason the race is off for 2008 is that Bernie didn't like the way the Indy track promoted the Indy 500 during the 2007 F1 race and the Indy track owners didn't like the Michelin tyre fiasco a couple of years ago, or more particularly, Max Mosley's reaction to it which prevented any kind of a "show".
  • No USGP this year, but there is a possiblity of F1 returning to Indy next year! Tony George and Bernie Ecclestone couldn't reach an agreement which resulted in the USGP being removed from the '08 calendar. The only time this year they will be in North America is when they go to Montreal for the Canadian GP (which I'm going to).
*Oh and to the person who said the Americans protested Bridgestone at Indy, get your facts straight! It was Michelin!
  • They will be in Canada and Brazil but not in the US.
