Will you see Santa Clause in your living room on 12/25/08?

May be...

  • This little cockroach is going to give it a 4-1/2.
Kyle has nothing to lose at this point, he can only go up from here.
He just needs to charge his way to the front, stay there at all costs, do whatever it takes.

How he's feeling post-race Dover and how he's feeling pre-race Kansas will not be the same thing. Yes, he sounded defeated after what happened to him, I won't deny that. But Kyle's a racer at heart, as soon as he has his skinny butt strapped into his car again, his only objective will be to win.

    Time to get Rowdy!!!!!

Biff has just as good a chance as Carl or Jimmie..
  • I think his chances on a scale of 1-10 are 3. I think Jimmie Johnson might win this week at kansas or if not he starts winning at charlotte and takes off from there I think carl will slip at talladega and Biffle will just start fading away after kansas.
  • I hope you get your Lamborghini also you might have a better chance of that happening that Rowdy does in winning the championship with this chase format. I'd say his chances are -2. I think Carl Edwards or Greg Biffle will win this. Nothing againist Jimmie Johnson, I'm old school here and I want Cale Yarboroughs record to stand. But I would love to see the nice one that no one is paying any attention to get hot, Jeff Burton sneak in there while no one is paying any attention to him..Racing is about luck, its either good or bad. Rowdy has seen his bad luck big time. But I bet he comes back to finish 6th.. At this point I'd love to see Dale Jr get hot, but I'd say right now its Carl or Da Bif. Don't forget to leave some nice snacks and treats for the reindeers when they deliever your Lambro.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms
  • At this point it's probably a 3, but anything could happen. He'd pretty much have to be flawless, and if his cars hold up, there is always a chance. The only way I can see him winning is if he wins about half the chase races, and the top 5 or so guys in points have a bad race or two, but the chase makes it so hard to come back after 1 bad finish, and Kyle's had two. But, if anyone can do it it will be him, and I'll be cheering for him the whole time. I think he will be well seasoned to make a run at it in 2009 and use what has happened the 1st two races as motivation. I just wish his cars would have held together and he'd be right in the thick of things instead of on the outside looking in. I think he'll make a charge at the championship, though, but 200+ points is a lot to make up.
  • Mr. Lenny Santa will you bring me my own Nascar for Christmas?

If someone could make up a 210 point deficit (like Ky. Busch has now) and win the chase, Kyle Busch would be the only likely candidate. However, I feel it is too much for him to make up and I feel that he is holding hostility in about his car blowing up last week (understandable) and that hostility might make him susceptible to a crash (causing or getting caught up in one) or upcoming bad finishes. I am amazed at how well he did this year and what he has accomplished.

I love the Biff. He is just cool. Good for him for winning the last two weeks and shaking some things up.
  • I actually think if anyone can come from that far back it's Kyle. I give it a 5 for 50/50.
  • As much as I want to see Rowdy take the championship just for all the hard work he's done all year.....he needs to win at least three of these races to get back on top. That and those like Carl, Jimmie, and Greg need to do not so well. So I am going to say, I beleive he will win at least one...and i put him at 4th or 5th.

As for Greg...he's won two in a row...and this Kansas race is one he won last year. Sooo....things are looking pretty good for him.

You'll not see me scatter...I am right here...did it ever occur to anyone that Rowdy fans found someplace else to go? Someplace where there are fans of every driver and no trolling or bashing and a lot of fun and interesting comments??? Think about that for a minute when you think about who isn't here anymore or who is scarcely here.

  • 3....Giving the level of competition, I just don't expect him to come back from this. I can only imagine his disappointment after having such a great season, that mechanical failure took him out of contention.

It is good to know though, that if the chase did not exist he wouldn't have the points lead anymore. The points lead is now Carl Edward's, chase or no chase. At least nobody could say he was "scre*ed" out of any championship because of the chase.

The Biff is definitely made it known that he is "in" this thing. I do want to remind some people that the Kansas race last year was ended under caution do to "darkness". A win is a win, but he kind of snuck his way into that one. He did not have the dominant car that day, and got his lead because of a caution and fuel strategy.Bowyer and Johnson were hot on his heals, had better cars AND enough fuel. Biff did not. Who knows what might have happened since we lost the last twenty or so laps of the race. Not saying he won't win this weekend, but just saying it's not a given he will finish well because of domination at this track or anything.

With that being said, he could pull off the championship. His team has really stepped up their game of late.
  • I think that rowdy fans like us Jr fans always want to believe and they never lose hope (at least the real fans anyways) But I do not expect to see Kyle winning the championship I think it will come down to Jimmie and Carl and I'm pulling for Jimmie and the three peat. As for Santa sure I'll see him, he's got cookies to eat right? LOL

edit: I agree Biffle is coming on strong but I still believe that it'll basicly come down to JJ and Carl but who know anything can and probably will happen we might even see someone like Harvick sneak up and grap that championship!
  • 3. This Chase still belongs to Jimmie Johnson, it's completely his to lose. The first three tracks are usually very strong tracks for Roush, as is Homestead. But the meat of the schedule, races 4-9 are all Jimmie Johnson. I don't see anyone (as much as it pains me to say it, even Jr) coming from 5 place or lower to win this thing. And to say 4th place even has a chance is stretching it.

Biffle will not be a factor in as little as three weeks. Mark my words.
  • Ok, now that I have your undivided attention (you were wondering, "what the hell??".........I love the enthusiasm by Rowdy and the rest of the Kyle Busch faithful but I really expect to find Santa delivering the Lamborghini that I have been asking for before I see the #18 come back to win this championship. I just feel the level of competition is way to great and all of the stars and moons would have to line up with Venus for it to happen. On a scale of 1-10 I would have to say that his chances are -4..............What do you think and PLEASE try and be objective............Thanks and good luck Rowdy, I really think you will need more than Kyle's tremendous ability to win this. Also by his demeanor during his interview last week it is pretty apparent that he has given up................Oh and for the record, I really do respect his driving ability.
  • I don't celebrate Christmas!
  • I don't think he'll make it. The odds are too great against him. But that doesn't mean it's impossible. He has some good fans. Maggie gives excellent answers. Rowdy 18fan gives excellent answers when he's not arguing. But yes it's true Kyle needs to keep his head up. Anything can happen. The way his season has gone definitely should indicate that the impossible is possible for him.
  • One thing I learned about the Kyle Busch fans as compared to the Junior fans is: When Kyle Busch does bad his fans scatter like cockroaches. When Junior does bad his fans still hang around and are "in your face!" Junior nation is the force baby. I may see Santa Clause this year, but I promise to have some snacks for his reindeer.
