Which team is better: the Detriot Lions or Jeff Gordon's team?

May be...

  • Detriot Lions. 0-16 is better than 0-36 record. Gordon suckss!!!!!!
  • well i guess the only way to really tell is to suit up gordons team for a football game and see who wins then set the lions up at the track and see how it goes!!
but i have an idea that jeffs boys would win both!!
  • It's New Years, be nice!. Football, each team has 11 players on the field, a Nascar race is one against 42. Somehow those aren't good odds. Besides, how can you tackle a bunch of cars goin nearly 200 mph? I gotta go with Jeff Gordon.
  • Oh this made me laugh.....Gordon's is by far better, Lions are terrible and I don't see them getting better. Where Gordon yes didn't win a race, he still made it in the chase.
  • i say Detriot, even if 0-16 they still came closer to winning games unlike Jeff Gordon, who was 0-36 and didnt come close to winning.
  • You can't compare an NFL team to a NASCAR team
  • Jeff Gordon's team, as they came close to winning, and they functioned as a team, Detriot Lions they need more than a prayer.

Go Dale Jr & Hms in 2009
  • Oh absolutely Jeff Gordon...one of the BEST drivers out there!!!
  • Jeff came a hell of alot closer to winning a race then the Lions did to winning a game.
  • I hate to say the lions since they are my states football team, but this year did suck for them. :( So I am going to have to say Jeff Gordon's team was better.
  • Jeff was very close to winning last year several times (against 42 other teams) and has 4 championships. The Detroit Lions have NO championships and only had 1 team to try and beat every week. Jeff is better by far, it's not even close.
    4's FINE N 09!!!!
  • Jeff Gordon. sure 0-16 is better than 0-36 for a season.
    But Jeff Gordon is faster.

The Lions just need a whole new team. Jeff Gordon needs a better car.

so all in all, Jeff Gordon has the upper hand.
  • I'm laughing even thinking about some NFL center trying to get in the #24 through the window. Maybe it would make a good Saturday Night lIve skit!!!!

Let's see... Jeff Gordon has 81 wins, 328 top tens in his NASCAR career since 1995.

He also has 4 Cup Championships, A USAC midget championship, and 1991 Busch series rookie of the year.

    Detroit Lions have...

    4 League championships since 1930 (78 years).

So Jeff Gordon has a career 30.77 % Championship win ratio where as Detroit is 5.13 % for Championships.

There, I did the math for you.
  • The Detroit Lions couldn't beat the team my family made on the 4th of July but I'm sure Jeff can beat me in a race.
  • go screw yourself
  • gordons team is way better! if they went 36 races and finished 43 every race i would still call it a tie.
  • I really don't think you can compare the NFL and NASCAR. But if I did, I would have to say Jeff Gordon. He didn't win in '08, but he had 42 other cars against him in 36 races. A lot of people went 0-36, not just Jeff. The Lions had only one team against them in 16 games. Jeff had more competition than the Lions and still finished 7th in the point standings. The Lions were much worse. And Jeff had several chances at winning last year. He led races at Daytona, California, Martinsville, Talladega, and more. I know you won't agree with me, but that's the truth.
  • Even though they aren't comparable, I'd pick Jeff's team. The Lions are pathetic.
  • Actually that is funny! I am a die hard Lions fan, I know boo-boo, hiss-hiss but I am and will always be a Honolulu Blue fan. But really you can't compare the two.

Gordon has won 4 Championships in his career and the Detroit Lions well that is a bit tricky if you count the NFL Championship Games (before it was called "Superbowl") four (4) times. 1932, 1952, 1953, and 1957. Since then the closest the Detroit Lions ever came to the SuperBowl was in 1991.

So truth be told the Lions stink and Jeffie is a 4 time Champ.

    Go Lions in 2009!
  • Detroit Lions are just bad Jeff Gordon and his team have just had bad luck
  • I think you have an unhealthy obsession with Jeff Gordon. I mean it is one thing to hate a guy, but to make it your sole purpose in life is just sad. Anyway, the Lions have to all time worse record in the NFL. Now in NASCAR there have been driver that have gone 40+ races in one season without winning, and have gone much longer in multiple seasons without winning at all. (How many races did Micheal Waltrip have before he finally won?) So I would have to say Gordon isn't close to being able to wear the title of all time worse like the Lions will.

ALSO if you want to take a real look at how many teams he beat compared to how many teams beat him last year his record would be 1016/542 (point races only). To put that into relative terms that would put him at a 10-5-1 NFL record.
(I base this on 43 teams x 36 races for a total of 1538 positions. In which he finished better than 1016 other drivers and worse than 542)
  • I'm not Jeff Gordon fan but you're way off. The lions play against one team each week and lost them all, worst season ever! Gordon races against 42 teams each Sunday. If you put his team up against each team individually, his win-loss record would be well above the 500 mark. He made the "playoffs" in 2008. There is no comparison between the two teams.
  • Good point, the Lions suck overall, but Gordon's team has history and still talented. Which would you rather face in a pressure situation, the sucky Lions, or Jeff?94 grand prix transmission
