Do you think this is legit?

May be...

  • I checked out the car on the website you provided..stats say car was driven by Richard Petty, but mileage says 1 mile...sounds like a ripoff to me..check the stats on this again
  • This is the "fine print" under "AS IS - NO WARRANTY"

This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith.

Now, I don't think that is a legal Ebay "release" for the seller...they cannot guarantee authenticity and then later in the listing say it's not! LOL!! However, that is EXACTLY what he is saying. At least based on what I read! I have sold quite a bit on Ebay, and while the items are nothing similiar - if you sell a fake item, the buyer will get their money back.
  • Unless if they completely rebuilt this car for the Winston 500, I would say its a fake. Richard crashed out of the 1988 Daytona 500.

The 1 mile is there because the miles are unknown. Some folks put 1, some put 999999, just depends the person.

    Please see link.
  • Probably legitimate. It'd be hard to fake. But, the seller is not very experienced (only 106 feedback) so I wouldn't but it even if I had the money.

As for the 1 mile, I am guessing they were required to enter mileage. Since there is no odometer, the seller likely just put a 1 there.
  • After watch ing the video that guy gave u the link too i severly doubt its the same car but still if they really are givin that car away it is still like a replica if not the real thing so it would still definately be cool to have
  • Whoa that's creepy but awsome in many ways! I would want that car so bad!
  • Ya, I think it is legit. You're really only paying for a paint scheme and an engine.
  • I would say yes
  • More than likely, I've seen several like this floating around in various places.
  • Some of these sites are under investigation, a man bought a car that Davey Allison was supposed to have driven, and paid 93,000.00 for it, he never got his car or his money back.

when investigated, the bank account that the money was wired to, had been closed, and had been setup in a phony name.....

he lost a lot of money........

this happened in 2003, in PA
  • It has to be a fake. It also looks like a 96, not an 88.
  • look at the picture with petty standing by the drivers side of the car the one he signed thats not his name above the door

are these actually pics of the car for sale or just generic pics for reference

the 1 mile claim can be because its a new motor
  • http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Pontiac-G...

i have no plans of buying it or any thing just curious if thats auctually real seems too cheap for such an amazing thing to have
