Manufactors?

May be...

  • I don't care if 43 Toyota's start every race, I'm gonna watch it!
  • Toyota is only dominating because of Gibbs racing. The only thing "foreign" on the Toyotas is Toyota decal itself. The truth is that JGR has one of the best, if not the best, engine builder in NASCAR. He also was very instrumental in developing the engines that most of the Chevy teams are running. It may be that the other engine guys just need to start over and find the horsepower that Cronquist found.
  • well im a toyota hater
    i hate foreign cars
to all those idiots that say we're xenophobes
please remember we are a soverign nation and allowing all these other companies to dominate our lives is killing us slowly and will be the very thing that brings us down
oh yeah im a dodge guy and i thought xenophobes were aliens that planted their offsprings in our united nations chests
  • if they had guys like me working in the Dodge engine department. Toyota would be a manufacturer struggling trying to compete in NASCAR. If something doesn't work the way you want it to, you force it. I have a motto to my own personal business, and it goes: "performance is based on design" Don't worry there's guys working on the situation. Sometimes the "new guy" gets all the glory. But it just raises the level of competition. Keep your fists clenched and stay on the edge of your seat. Watch!
  • Great answer, #18s #1 Fan (Rowdy's World).

The truck series is as popular as ever, and F1 is still the ultimate motorsport all over the world, except in the U.S. If there was a problem with dominance, it was more that Schumacher was dominating, not so much with Ferrari dominating.

Toyota is enjoying at lot of success right now, but the rest of the field will catch up.

edit: I can disagree with you whenever or wherever I want. Ferrari makes engine deals, and they are not the only ones doing so. If anything, in this example Ferrari's dominance is adding to the popularity of the sport in helping a subpar team improve their level of competition and thus improving competition overall. Also, comparing dominance in F1 and NASCAR is like comparing apples to oranges. Ferrari is a manufacturer that runs a team, which is not the case in NASCAR. Now if it was a Toyota company team with Toyota's engines and success, then I might be more inclined to agree with you. But dominance happens, and we all remember the days when Roush dominated, then HMS, and now JGR. It's team dominance not manufacturer domimance. Last time I checked, Brian Vickers and Dave Blaney had yet to visit victory lane in their Toyotas.
  • totally agree, ppl dont watch NASCAR to see a foriegn car win almost every race
  • Gonna take more than a couple of years of Japaneese cars to bother me much. Chevy dominates NASCAR and always will, in my opinion. If Toyota has a couple good years all it can do is make Chevy and Ford better cars in the long run. Bring on Honda and even Yugo. Chevy will knock 'em all down in the end.

I'd love to see Jeff Gordon in a Toyota though.....LOL

    Go Dale!
  • Ok its almost a proven fact that once a certain manufactor starts winning all the time that popularity of the sport will drop. Happend with Forumula 1 with Ferrari and Trucks with Toyota.

Think Nationwide series and maybe Cup series will fall to this in the next 2 years? I already hear that 2 more teams in Cup series are planning to switch to Toyota next year because of its dominance.

(I am not a Toyota hater) I just dont want Toyota to take over the sport.
  • if that does happen I'll probity wont be watching any more.
  • nascar racing was considered the all american race. it goes back to bootleggers and running illegal whiskey. back to the days when joe kenneday jfk's dad made all his money and used those beefed up cars for racing. i hated when toyota started racing. non american cars should not be racing. i used to like joe gibbs in football but now i do not like him. if he coached football again he is subject to bring in sumo wrestlers. i got into tropuble with yahoo for talking trash about riceburners
  • More TOYOTAs are made in the USA than any other of the big 3 so cut the USA brand loyalty stuff.

And I don't know whwere your getting your info on truck racing, because it seems to be doing very well. If you'd watch the races every now and then you would see that is has the best racing of any other NASCAR division on TV.

Besides the manufacturers in NASCAR are basically using the same cars since everythings been modernized, it's not like the old days with al lthe cars looking more like stock automobiles. Joe Gibbs racing just has a ton of talent, look at Michael Waltrip racing. They are in TOYOTAs and still aren't very good.
  • what truck races have you been watching? ron hornaday won the championship last year in a .... chevy. and by the questions and answers in the nascar area here, more and more people are beginning to think the truck races are the most competitive, most exciting of the bunch.

and for all the auto-xenophobes, get over it. all you are saying is that you're afraid that chevy, ford, and dodge aren't good enough to compete - how "unamurrican."
  • no people are know getting over the thought of toyota now and stock racing is to , SO MUCH popular that the popularity wont drop
