Not a troll just new to this group. I have been reading all of these questions and answers for several weeks now and finally felt like participating in the discussion. I am not a long time NASCAR fan (since about 2003) but I am a huge fan of the sport. Is that OK with you?

all racers are nothing more than lap runners in the long run. it's the quality of the laps that count, and often the quantity. burton's right up in the mix and has run nearly every lap this year. last year, especially toward the end, i would agree - he was just running laps, especially once he lost his spot in the chase. he was test equipment for truex, who was in the chase.

not the case this year by far - he's carrying the hms banner by being third in the points, and contending most races.
