Toyota Extra HP?

May be...

  • is it just me or is everybody getting tired of Denny/ Kyle /Tony winning every week an to be real Im a die hard nascar fan but if nascar don't fix the Toyota problems Im going to stop watching it an just watch the Cup race cause to me it showed tonight that Jr an clint tryed to draft an chouldnt even get near them Toyotas
  • In the Nationwide series the Chevys are still using the old SB2 engine. In the Cup series the Chevys run the new RO7 engine. The Chevy teams are pushing for the RO7 to be used in the Nationwide series so it will even the playing field a little. Nascar says they are trying to save the teams money, but it is costing them money by losing out on prize money. Nascar needs to let them run the RO7 then we'll see who has the horses.
  • If NASCAR doesn't start to control this they will lose fans. No one wants to see Kleenex Kyle and his rice burner win every race.
  • Hey they were,nt crying when the HMS crew were dominating...You,re just pissed that an import company can do better than detroit!!!
  • Hang on, I'm sure Chevy is working something that will blow them dang toy cars off the planet..Yeah I'm sick of toy cars already...Don;t worry I hear theres nothing to worry about, but it might be next yr...Toy cars you will eat Chevy dust next yr, enjoy the ride while its lasts Toy cars..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms & Chevy..
  • duh!!! toyota is not chinese. toyota is japanese. toyota usa is made in america.

    and double duh!!! somehow the irony didn't escape me that the word some are looking for is spelled "parity" - "parody" means something else completely - something similar to what i might think this question was if i didn't know you were serious.

    and again, just like i posted last week, this is old news. they went over it again like three times tonight - toyota is using the same engine in both cup and nns cars - the nns engines are just "reigned in" versions to cut down on their overall horsepower.

    yes, it still is probably able to put out more horses than the others, but nothing has kept chevy from working their new engines (the R07, which is now used in all the cup chevys) into the nationwide series. rick hendrick said it again tonight. they are working on it. why they haven't done it sooner is beyond me...

    chevy whupped @$$ all last year and the year before and no one complained - now they've fallen behind toyota - in particular the gibbs toyotas, which are shipped in pieces to gibbs and built and tuned there. not every toyota team is dominating and other makes have won, just not as much.

    so if it pisses you off that much that you can't stand to watch, don't. quit your bellyachin' about toyota and start bellyachin' about why the other manufacturers haven't been doing all they can to achieve "parity" by lobbying nascar to run their new engine packages before just recently... they've been running the engine in cup since last year (remember the early problems that gibbs had with the new chevy engine package mid-last year?) - plenty of time to develop it further for use in the nationwide series.
  • I am getting pretty sick of the Toyota/Gibbs domination, but I agree with dalejr4ever. There is a reason Chevy is the most winning make in Nascar. Just wait, Toyota is on borrowed time. I'm sure Chevy isn't sitting back watching all this and just saying "oh well". Chevy by far has most of the best drivers in the series. Toyota has Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, and for now Stewart who they are about to lose (to Chevy). Kyle and Denny are good but up against HMS, RCR, DEI, and Tony's pending new team they are outnumbered. Once Chevy gets caught up in hp no one will even remember what a Toyota is ;)
  • all the toyotas need to go back to CHINA!!!
    let the chinese drive'em!!!!!!
    i want to see ford dodge chevys!!!!!!
    let the toyoties BURN!!!!!!
  • well if either Dodge Chevy of Ford could find a way to get a performance gain, we wouldn't be in such a dilemma. Maybe someone will figure this thing out. It can't be that difficult. I know I could do it
  • screw chevy,dodge and toyota,
    Ford will fix it first
    roush does not want to go broke
  • The harder NASCAR attempts parody the harder the teams work to remove it. With handling problems readily fixed between makes and attempts to limit horsepower, or increase it unilaterally NASCAR can make a mess of things. Toyota definitely has a horsepower advantage for now. Chevy will equal it and then Ford and Dodge will complain and we will be back at square one again. Tonight it was very obvious, tomorrow night we will have to wait and see. Jr and Clint had very strong cars tonight but in the end they were no match for that Toyota power on take off.

    I like what the late great Dale Sr said once. Or more than once. Take off the restrictor plates, build the fences higher and move the fans back and run what you brung.
  • well Tony Pooturd said those rice burners had an extra 20hp in them.
  • Its no different than Jimmie and Jeff winning half the races last year.
  • Actually Jr was hanging in there pretty good by himself until the lap cars got in the way. Rick Hendrick said something about the extra horsepower after the Busch race. Hopefully they will develop the new engine soon and bring some extra hp to the Chevys again.

    I honestly feel once the chase starts you will see someone other than Toyota on top. Toyota teams are showboating right now but I know that there are some teams that sandbag and come out once the racing really counts. Just a little something to keep in mind as the chase rolls around.

    Added:
    Keep in mind that unlimited testing has just been allowed. There may be more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye (with the new Chevy engine).
  • I can't really say that I'm tired of seeing Gibbs win. lol

    Edit: A monkey can't drive a car!
  • new Chevy engine coming to a track near you very soon.
  • I'm right there with you when it comes to being a die hard fan...i too believe that toyota definately has something more powerful under their hood. there ain't nothing that is more fun to watch (besides the cup races) than the NNS, but it's very very boring to watch the #20 car win week after week, it was like jimmie johnson winning every week last year...I'm with Bowyer when he said a monkey could drive that 20 car...
