Jr. drops the ball again..what do you think?

May be...

  • It sure showed at Darlington. All the Hendricks cars and their associates were up front and doing well and there is the 88 car back in the field doing Michael Waltrip impressions for the crowd.

If it was my call I would switch father and son.Eury Sr. to the 88 team and send Jr. back to Nationwide.

Racing is business and right now they are not doing it.
Of course can't replace the driver so.........
  • lately, yeah, that pretty much fits him. but back when he was driving in DEI, he was doing well and his fame was well-deserved. now.... now going to Hendrick has sent him going downhill fast.
adding on (Carabou "LIPS" Barbie's comment made me think of something more I needed to say): if I were at HMS, I would give Earnhardt Jr. the equipment he needs to win races. i am not actually a Jr. fan but think about it. as I mentioned up above, when Jr. left DEI for Hendrick he started doing worse. in a similar situation, when Kyle Busch was with Hendrick, he was doing okay, but the moment he went to Gibbs, he started doing really good. see what i mean? Hendrick likes to give equipment to Johnson and Gordon, but the others... not so much.
though I will admit Mark Martin did really good today. congrats to him.
  • It's Jr's fault alright.... Tony Eury Jr...!!! Hopefully Rick was sitting at home and watching on TV and realizes he needs to remove Tony.
  • He did better than I predicted...I had him at 28th. He left DEI because he felt that they weren't doing him justice, DEI was out to get him, and he would do better with HMS. Now we can see that it just wasn't true. Rick's gotta be kickin' himself for falling for all the bull and hype. If Jr could just learn to communicate what his car needs instead of everyone putting blame on the person that reacts to the input, maybe they would do better. I guess if he hasn't learned how to do that by now I guess he never will.
You have to feel sorry for Tony Eury Jr for having to be Jr's fall guy.
To say that Tony missed the setup is just another copout, Jimmie Johnson went into the race in a car with zero laps on it for setup (started 42nd and came in 2nd) and his car was adjusted according to what Jimmie communicated to Chad, so blaming Tony for not getting the car right is pure BS, and the lemmings refuse to see the truth.

    Dale Jr is overr88ted...
  • IF TONY JR COULD SET UP A FREAKIN CAR WE WOULDN'T HAVE THESE PROBLEMS!!!!

If we could just get rid of Tony Jr then maybe Rick could put someone in there that can actually set up a car that would be drivable. Hopefully after this week he'll be gone!
  • He is more than overrated. He is a disgrace to all of NASCAR. Rick Hendrick needs to do everyone a favor and pull the plug on Jr. in the 88. Keselowski deserves the ride much more than Jr.
  • He has once again proven that he can't close the deal. How much longer can you back someone that is this off focus? He can't run a race and keep the fenders in tact. Most over rated driver ever.
  • I think it's safe to say that if I were at HMS I would drop Dale for Brad. I think tonight's race proved it.
  • Kinda feel sorry for the fella..not in the cards..the Jr. Nation has put the poor guy on such a thorny thrown..he can never live up to their expectations..that is difficult circumstances for any person in life..like a child always trying to please his parents, and just can't succeed because the bar is set too high..just my thought on the matter. know there will be numerous thumbs down...
  • Eury Jr missed the set up of the car again, that thing was tight all race no matter what they did to fix it. Call it excuse making all you want, I heard what I heard(was watching on TrackPass). Look at it this way last season Gordon fans were calling for Letarte's head on a platter, and Jr fans were calling for Eury Jr's, this season no one's calling for Letarte's but we're still calling for Eury's. As for overrated, I guess Neil Bonnett, Harry Gant and Geoff Bodine were too since Jr has similar numbers to them.
forcryingoutloud, how is "tight in the center, loose off" not communicating what the car needs? What Jr tells Eury Jr is no different than what any other driver's saying out there.
Yes, but Chad and the 48 crew seem to be capable of doing that, Tony Jr and the 88 crew don't, therein lies the difference.
  • him and about 20 other drivers, but their fans are still fans, that's the good thing about decent folk
  • He sat around 20th the whole race, that's actually pretty good for him. The wreck pretty much did more good than bad, because now another car that he couldn't drive is trash.

All Dale Jr. fans need to realize that Dale is not a good race car driver and never will be. I don't think he even wants to race.

He doesn't need to be anything like his father, but he should at least be an average race car driver. He is no where near being an average driver. Top equipment in NASCAR and he NEVER wins. Top 10's which is still bad for Hendrick cars is even rare! That's horrible.

How much longer will Hendrick keep Dale Jr? Keep Dale much longer and it proves Hendrick is in it just for the money and doesn't care about his team!idle stop solenoid
