Are there going to be "tire issues" again in the Autism Speaks 400 @ Dover?

May be...

  • Maybe Goodyear saved the best of the bunch for the race they knew Tony Stewart would be racing in, lol..

Joking aside, I hope there's no issues tomorrow.
Congrats on your boys 3-hitter game...whatever you do, don't let him grow up to be a Yankee!!
    :P
  • Kyle should have won both races today. What are the chances of tires blowing out in two different classes of races in one day?

Granted it may have been a case of too much camber, but I doubt it.
  • There is some concern about the tires. The track did not rubber in at all today during the races and that is a cause for concern. There were a few tire issues today in both races because the racetrack was still green from all the rain, but not widespread issues like at Indy last year. The Nationwide and Trucks have limited sets of tires to use each race so they don't get to change tires as often as the Cup cars. However, the Cup cars are much tougher on tires than the other two series. My opinion is there will be a few teams that have issues due to aggressive set-ups, but most teams should be ok.
  • No idea, I'm just hoping for a great race since I'll be there. Great avatar and congrats on the 3 hitter!

Edit: He'll look good in them Bronx pinstripes. ;)

Edit: Dave, don't you want him to win? Lol
Send him up here to the Yanks.
  • I missed the races too. Had to work. :-(

I hope there's no major tire issues. That always takes away from good racing.

Congrats to your son on that three hitter!
  • Congrats to your sons three hitter!!!
Yeah...not so terribly bad as last year but bad enough. I hope it isn't a factor in todays race.
  • The Nationwide race wasn't nearly as bad as the truck race. In Nationwide there were about 4 tire falliures. The Truck race was pure madness! Several trucks would all have issues at the same time! After a blown tire caused a csution, James Buscher was literally going 70m/h down the frontstreach and his tire blew out! What the hell is that!

The most bizzar thing was with about 15 laps to go, Kyle Busch blew a tire in turn 2 while leading, so Colin Braun took the lead and blew a tire in turn 3, both hit the wall and brought out the caution. Then, before any of the other trucks could slow down David Starr had a tire go down despite the fact that he just took the lead from Colin Braun!

Todd Bodine, Jonny Benson, Brian Ickler and Rick Crawford also had tires go down that resulted in multiple lost laps.

The good news is GoodYear thinks the Cup Series tire will hold up better (see link below)
  • No major tire issues will happen...The nationwide didn,t really have any big issues...
  • Ooo No! I hope no tire issues. I missed the races myself. I was at the Zoo today then watched the WINGS kick booty! Yeah!

Congrats to the soon to be SuperStar and his 3 hitter!!

Have a great weekend and good luck to Kurt.
  • I missed both races today due to watching my soon to be superstar son pitch a 3 hitter in his Bronco league finale today and have been reading about tire problems in the Nationwide & Camping World series races. If you could please give me scoop so I can be prepared tommorow. Thanks and have a great weekend Nascar Nation!orbitz international flights
