Who else thinks that Kurt Busch Is only racing badly because he is on penske?

May be...

  • I thought Rusty was more consistent in the "Blue Deuce". That's just my personal opinion.

And don't anybody "Edit:Tina" me either. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.
  • Personlay I do believe that thats the only reason he has sucked in the past few years. Is that the reason or am i just going nuts. cause he was amazing on roush.
  • as a busch brothers fan at first there was the light of possibility as kurt moved into the blue deuce. but it became apparent rather quickly to me that he had made a move which did not help his performance. it might have helped how he got along with his owner and teammate, although you couldn't tell it by how he and his crew chief interact.

penske needs to do something, and do it quick. the captain may have money and sponsors galore (man does have an empire), and incredible results in all of his other programs, but his nascar program - particularly since the COT came on the scene - has been lagging big time. i think he should probably lobby honda to become their first team in nascar... you know it's coming... honda won't just sit by and watch more of the american market swing to toyota...
    ;-)

EDIT: Tina (sorry, couldn't resist ;-): didn't rusty run most of his "good years" in a pontiac (for beadle and then penske) and in a ford (for penske)? after penske moved to dodge in 2003 he had one win in three years... so i agree with you and mark - he was more consistent, as long as he wasn't in a dodge... so "thumbs-up" for both of ya!!!
    ;-)
  • Not me... I think he lost all the extra down-force created by his ears!
  • As a Kurt Busch fan, I would like to believe that statement. Dodge hasn't had much sucess recently and other than Kasey Kahne, only Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch have picked up wins for Dodge this year. Busch's performance is likely linked to Dodge more than it is Penske, because Pat Tryson and Kurt Busch seem to get along well. He was amazing at Roush, and I miss those days. Go Kurt and Kyle! Maybe we'll see brighter thing when his contract is up at Penske!
  • racing runs in cycles and luck at best...that said, Kurt is getting better, Dodge has had it a little rough, but who has not in this new car, folks are still trying to figure the thing out on the different tracks. I am more than sure things are going to work out well for Kurt in the long run
  • Yes, it's apparent that Roger Penske puts most of his resources and funding into his IRL team, they're doing quite well, as opposed to his nascar team. Add that to the fact that the dodges have been "off" most of the season, and with his string of bad luck that he was encountering earlier in the season and you've got the predicament he's in right now.

Kurt's a much, much better driver than his current status would lend someone to believe.
  • Nah it is Dodge altogether. Dodge has hurt themselves every since being in racing. From the first year until now they have introduced a new body style and or nose piece, then came the COT and here they go again... It has been a long hard road for the Dodge teams. Yeah, Kahne had a couple wins, anyone can have a good day once in awhile...
  • He should have never left Roush
