Standings is the same as rankings (positions) of the F1 championships. As there are in fact 2 championships (constructors and drivers), there are also 2 standings:

1) Constructors standings (also called constructors table) which show the position of the teams as far as points earned during the season.

2) Drivers standings (drivers table) which show the position of each driver as far as points earned at any given time of the season.

There are several websites, such as www.formula1.com which keep constant updates of these standings.

It refers to the position drivers are in the Championship. For example, the standings could be Hamilton first, with 5000 points and Alonso second with 1 point. Are you sure you don't know???
