Do nhra pro stock racers build torque into there engines?

May be...

They build high torque at the highest rpm possible. Pro Stock engines have the highest BMEP of any naturally aspirated racing engines in the world. All of the gains in the past few years have come from moving the torque peak higher and the resulting horsepower gains.

I don't know of an engine that doesn't have torque!
