Nascar question....?

May be...

  • 17 is a Dewalt car but it is also sponsored by a company called R&L Carriers Green and Yellow you will see it on the back of the car and sometimes on the hood

Yes there is allotted space for local sponsors The also have at least 3 different cars that they use. Watch for different vehicle colors and Sponsors.

    #1 NASCAR FAN
  • It could be a small team looking for any sponsorship.
  • I actually work for Weis and we were a co-sponsor for the race on some of the cars. We had certain products through out our store that if you purchased any of these products during the month of April you were entered into a drawing for tickets to the race at Pocono.
  • Nass88 is right...they take all the sponsors they can get local or otherwise.
  • I am pretty sure that any business can sponsor a car. The more $$ you have to sponsor the bigger the sticker or it would be in a spot that gets a lot of airtime. Budweiser sponsored Dale Jr. and had their name on his hood...for $20 Million.
  • My husband is the Nascar fan, not me, and he went to the race at Pocono yesterday. I watched on TV and noticed when one of the cars was in the pit (a bigger name that I can't remember but did recognize) I noticed on the back of the car a logo for Weis supermarkets. They are a regional store, not national, and I was curious why it was on the car.

Finally, my question..do the drivers have "space" alloted for local sponsors when they compete at a race, or could this be a one time thing.

I was just curious and my hubby didn't know the answer right off the top of his head.

thanks in advance for your help.
  • If you have the money, you too could sponsor a driver.
My husband owns a auto parts store (local...not even regional or national), and he sponsors two drivers on our local short circuit track. They give him the advertising, he gives them free and/or spare parts. It's a win/win for both parties.
  • hopefully weis sponsored more than one car or they probably didn't get their money's worth - i could have sworn i saw that "weis" logo on the back of kyle busch's backup car as they pulled it off the hauler saturday, and on sunday he spent most of the race in the garage.

as for the sponsorship question, there's all variety of ways sponsors support cars, tracks, races, and series. the local grocery chain here, stater brothers, sponsors the nationwide race here in fontana. bottom line, if the sponsor has the money, they'll usually find a place for a logo - as long as it doesn't compete with another sponsor they have (bud and miller lite, alltel and at&t, etc.).
  • some racers don't have enough sponsership for all the races..and take whatever deals they can get ..some do get a one race deal with area business.
