The Budweiser Shootout is an exhibition race, for the drivers who have won pole positions in qualifying for races in the previous races and for the active drivers who have won the Shootout in previous years. It is mostly for bragging rights, but it was important this year because of the new car. Participation in the shootout gave the teams more of a opportunity to check the set ups in the car this year, because everything is new and unknown, so the perks were more practice and checking to see how everything worked out before the Daytona 500. i think that it is very significant for Jr. to win the first race that he has run for his new team, after not winning for a long time. so much for all of the haters saying that Jr. can't drive. Just sit back and watch what he can do with a good team.

The Bud Shootout is an exhibition race. No relation to the 500 in anyway other than they both are run at Daytona and both are events for Daytona Speedweeks. So, no, the winner gets no Daytona 500 related perks for winning. He does however get a sweet cheque
