Maths question?

May be...

  • 3y= 3+75/19

    3y= 132/19

    y= 44/19

    How did 3y= 3+75/19 become 132/19

    how did they calculate it? What do i have to do to get 132/19

    Help plz .. tried and couldn't get it
  • ROXXY! DON'T WORRY DEAR

    MAIN HOON NA

    look! 3+75/19(here we are adding two rational no.s i.e.,3 &75/19

    their denominators are 1&19(we can write 3 as 3/1)

    now we will take L.C.M. of denominators=19

    now divide lcm ie, 19 by 1(denom. of 1st fraction ie,3/1)we will get 19, multiply result by numer. of same fraction ,we'll get19*3=57

    so, fraction w'll be 57/19

    similarly,when den. of 2nd frction'll b divided byl.c.m ,result'll b 1 so,1*75=17

    2nd fraction 'll become75/19

    now u can simply add them ,like this

    57/19+75/19=(57+75)/19

    =132/19

    ur problem is solved
  • Because a common denominator of 19 was made.

    3 + 75/19

    = 3*(19/19) + 75/19

    = (3*19)/19 + 75/19

    = 57/19 + 75/19

    = (57 + 75) / 19

    = 132/19
  • 3y = 3 + 75/19

    3y = (3/1 * 19/19) + 75/19

    3y = 57/19 + 75/19

    3y = 132/19

    y = (132/19)/(3/1)

    y = 132/19 * 1/3

    y = 132/57

    y = (132/3)/(57/3)

    y = 44/19

    y = 2 6/19
  • 3y = (57 + 75)/19

    57y = 132

    y = 132/57
